The significance of oral hygiene, a core component of personal care services, often gets overlooked, especially as we age. However, it’s crucial to understand that maintaining good oral health is not just about keeping your teeth and gums in shape; it’s also directly connected to your overall well-being. Poor oral hygiene can lead to a host of medical issues, from cardiovascular disease to diabetes and respiratory infections. Indeed, the mouth is a gateway to your body’s internal system and needs to be treated with the same care and attention as any other part of your body.
when u have a dentist appointment but then you realize you never got your dental card but you paid for dental insurance through your university so you're like. no biggie. ill just go online and see my card there thank god for technological advancements! but you can't see anything so you're ??? so you contact the health care company that your university is partnering with for this year but they say they dont have you on file like AT ALL which is weird because you are literally staring at the bill that you got AND paid for dental insurance for the entirety of the 2023-2024 school year so you contact your school because they NEVER TOLD THE DENTAL COMPANY THAT YOU ARE ENROLLED DESPITE PAYING FOR DENTAL INSURANCE THIS ENTIRE TIME. and they still havent gotten back to you and you have a dental cleaning at 11 am ^_^
I have to figure out a way when someone says "okay we'll give you a call when [we hear back from your insurance / we get your results / we have an opening / etc.]!" to quickly and firmly be like "okay well I will not pick up. because I don't answer the phone."
Goddammit Waldo is acting hurty again and I don’t know if he just landed on something wrong or slept funny or what but after this summer I’m so fucking worried about him that is my fluffy fuzzy son 😭
I should make a relationship page ... for newcomers or current roleplayers to understand the relations between my Lucifer and the threads I've done thus far with other muses on this account to catch everyone up to speed.
it's been over a decade since I've been able to get a same-week doctor appointment. idk what's changed or how my mom was managing it when we were kids, but it's super rough being any sort of unwell in america lmao
I am in a weird space these past couple of days going through spurts of being super productive and then merging into my couch for several hours and today just crushing anxiety and depression like what am I doing with my life.

Have You Visited Your Dentist Since COVID?
Today in idiots I argue with on TikTok’s comments section: on a video in which someone was discussing the financial hardships which come with being LGBT+ (such as having lower wages overall, less likely to have a support system, more expensive to have children due to IVF/adoption, etc), a man was arguing that LGBT+ people are hyper consumerist (not just more likely to spend money but specifically that they hyper consume).
When asked for evidence, he stated that it was obvious because without children all they do is spend money on wasteful stuff (ignoring that many same-sex couples have children) and provided one study based from 9 years ago on data which is 10 years old which says that LGBT+ households spend 10% more than non-LGBT+ households (and I didn’t even bring up the fact that all you had to do to qualify as an LGBT+ household was have one person who identifies as LGBT+ which itself would hardly give results representative to LGBT+ people themselves) and doesn’t like the fact that I pointed out that this is a very old study, didn’t give the sample size used, hardly supports his point (spending 10% more, especially when based on monetary value rather than amount of products purchased, than straight people is not evidence of hyper-consumerism) but apparently it’s ’easy to Google’ this fact and I’m unwilling to search for it… despite the fact that I did search up what he was claiming and even the claims from the study provided to see if there were similar replications but found literally nothing else to suggest anything similar.
Unable to provide further evidence, this dude increased his homophobia to talk about how I must be a hyper consumerist because of my sexuality (specifically, I stated sarcastically that I must be one for saving like 1/3 of my income, paying for my car, and buying myself food and small luxuries every month which he said that he thought I was lying and that I’m probably a hyper consumerist), gay people have hyper consumerist lifestyles (clubbing and constantly partying were mentioned), and specifically that gay men are hyper consumerists because they take PrEP in order to continue fucking men from Grindr (yes, Grindr was mentioned but the fucking was implied) and that gay people have higher rates of STIs which obviously means hyper consumerist lifestyles?
So anyways, whenever you see people who are actually hyper consuming products, like anyone who does monthly fast fashion hauls or people who have two dozen Stanley cups for no reason or people who consistently over-buy food and let it go to waste, just remember that these people are obviously gay people since all gay people are hyperconsumerists who spend all their money uncontrollably!
hey guys this is your reminder to TAKE CARE OF YOUR MOUTH AND TEETH‼️‼️‼️‼️
your teeth are so incredibly important! no one wants dentures! please remember to brush your teeth twice a day as well as floss, scrape ur tongue, and fluoride!!
if you are brushing ur teeth twice a day, YAY! :D but it’s not enough! flossing is very much needed, cavities can still form if you don’t floss. fluoride helps strengthen ur teeth so they can be big boys and prevent tooth decay and further problems! i cannot stress this enough, TAKE CARE OF THEM‼️‼️‼️
not only does all of this help your teeth to be sturdy and healthy, it most certainly helps with bad breath! just brushing your teeth only helps so much, and most the time it doesn’t work, especially if you haven’t been very good with it. flossing gets all the gunk and plaque off your pearly whites that are makin’ things smell! this is also where scraping your tongue comes in. bacteria lives on your tongue too! no one wants it! so make sure to get a tongue scraper, im sure your dentist has some so don’t be afraid to ask! scraping your tongue can help immensely with bad breath, especially if you floss, brush and fluoride along with it!
REMEMBER‼️‼️
you must do ALL of these if you want to ensure a healthy mouth! you can’t just scrape and brush, or brush and fluoride, etc. all steps are incredibly important! GUYS‼️‼️ CAVITIES AND CROWNS ARE NOT FUN‼️‼️ THEY ARE EXPENSIVE‼️‼️ and to add on top of all that, you feel great afterwards! I’m always happier and feel much cleaner after taking care of my teeth, and you will too! who doesn’t like knowing their breath is fresh and their mouth is healthy?
i know it can be hard, especially when your trying to form the habit. i struggled myself for a long time, only recently really coming down on my teeth hygiene. but it’s so worth it!! just try your best and DON’T take breaks for a night! that is what kills the habit. just imagine how nice and clean your teeth will look without all that gunk in between them!!
if you don’t believe me, my dad is a dentist and runs his own practice. I’ve learned from the very best! he works with patients who have cavities left and right, he’s worked with smokers, etc. if you guys have any questions, go ahead and ask, I’d be happy to get an answer from my dad for you! :D
