Kilworth Demestrap
My contribution to @bombawife‘s Demestrap Week event! It’s been ages since I’ve drawn Kilworth Munk and i love him utterly. Figuring out this version of Demeter was lots of fun too. I am really proud of how this piece turned out.
@uppastthejelliclemoon I know this is your favorite non-rep, bestie. I hope you like it!

Ooh ooh! Demestrap doing the pas de deux! Either before it or doing the dance or the aftermath but the idea of it is too cute
so both you and @munku-collar requested a lil short about the demestrap pas, so i must obey the request 😌
happy day 4 of demestrap week, demestrap shippers deserve the world
Demeter had never performed a real mating dance.
With Macavity, their relationship was simply established, there wasn't any celebration beneath the moonlight, no music provided by the Everlasting Cat.
She had loved Macavity, that much was true, but she knew that the mating dance was the moment in which two cats truly connected and understood one another.
(Perhaps, in the back of her mind, Demeter wondered that, if they had a true dance, things would have ended differently...)
After she had settled back into the Junkyard, and things had calmed down, Demeter and Munkustrap decided to officially go through their mating dance.
It was nothing like Demeter had ever experienced.
She had known it would be different, she and Munkustrap putting their trust fully into the other, but nothing could have prepared her for what she would feel.
The entire Junkyard melted away, every Jellicle disappearing until it was just the two of them, and the music from the Everlasting Cat swirling around them. The only thing she felt was Munkustrap's paws, steady and firm, keeping her close as they moved around each other.
"Are you ready?" Munkustrap whispered, voice barely audible, even to Demeter.
She nodded, breathless from excitement, dancing, and nerves. "Of course." His paws tightened their grip around her waist.
It wasn't like how Macavity used to hold her, possessive and bruising, unyielding to her shifting movements when it would get to be too much.
Munkustrap's grip was supportive, just tight enough that Demeter felt safe in his embrace, but not so tight that she felt as though she was being constricted.
Where Macavity never sheathed his claws, always adding an additional level of danger when he held her, Munkustrap rarely revealed his claws, soft paws as gentle as possible, absolutely no threats whenever they touched.
Munkustrap leaned in close, pressing his forehead against Demeter's for a brief, loving moment. "I've got you."
And Demeter knew that he did.
As Munkustrap lifted her above his head, effortlessly, as though she weighed nothing to him, Demeter closed her eyes, focusing only on Munkustrap's touch, and she swore she could feel his own heart beating in time with hers.
Demeter couldn't resist pulling Munkustrap close into a soft kiss as their dance came to a close, happy tears in both their eyes at the feeling of being together, of being mated. While she couldn't wait to return to their den, to their daughter, Demeter beamed as Munkustrap's arms wrapped around her waist, firm and strong, pulling her close as he pressed a kiss on her neck, taking their first breaths as new mates, and awaiting what the world would bring them.

Demestrap Week Day 1: First Meeting
Decided to do some headcanons for my Human AU for how Demeter and Munk met. Enjoy <3
When Bombalurina first met her boyfriend’s brother Munkustrap, her first immediate thought was how perfect he would be for her best friend, Demeter. She expressed this to Tugger, who at first sorta brushed it off, but once he started getting to know Demeter more himself, his tone quickly shifted to “Oh wow, Bomba is right. This girl is perfect for my brother.”
Because Bomba and Tugger are extra, they decide to use wanting the two to meet as an excuse to throw a party. Before Bomba and Tugger (and eventually Misto) move into their own home, Bomba was living in apartment with her Demeter as a roommate, who moved in with her almost a year ago at that point after ending a very rocky and turbulent relationship. While the scars from her past relationship have (mostly) healed, the thought of entering another relationship hadn’t really crossed her mind just yet.
Bombalurina makes sure to plan the party for when Demeter is free and at the apartment. Demeter doesn’t think much of it when Bombalurina tells her she is planning a party, but grows a tad suspicious when Bombalurina continues to insist that Demeter be there. Bomba even helps Dem with her makeup and picking a nice outfit to wear, while not out of character for her best friend, makes Demeter raise her eyebrow at what she has planned.
Munkustrap however is fully suspicious when Tugger not only personally invites him to Bomba’s party, but also insists the two go together. Because the two hang out in the same friend circle, it isn’t uncommon for them to end up at the same parties or gatherings, but Tugger has never invited Munk to an event firsthand. Tugger does this of course to ensure Munk actually goes to the party (Munk’s attendance to these parties are 50/50, depending on his schedule).
The second Tugger and Munk get to Bomba’s apartment, Operation: Get Munk and Demeter Together is a go! Bomalurina was chosen as the one who does the actual introducing, Tugger being way too giddy about the whole thing to introduce the two together.
Bombalurina introduces Demeter to Munk, and Demeter immediately catches on to what is going on, giving Bombalurina a knowing glance that she has caught on to her little plan as Munk shakes her hand. Thinking to herself like “Really, Bomba? Your own boyfriend’s brother?” But Demeter cannot lie, the man in front of her is very much her type- tall, handsome and giving Demeter a smile that makes her knees feel slightly weak.
Munk doesn’t catch on at first, not thinking anything suspicious about meeting his brother’s girlfriend’s roommate, but he does find himself immediately captivated by the small goth girl shaking his hand. Munk wouldn’t call it love at first sight, the but chemistry is there right at the start, and he very quickly shuts out the rest of the party happening around him to learn more about Demeter.
Any annoyance Demeter may have at her roommate obviously trying to set her up with Tugger’s brother is thrown out the window the more she talks to him. The two discuss their own lives, how Demeter helps out with dance classes at the local dance studio with Bombalurina, how Munk is almost set to graduate college soon. Without even realizing, the two find themselves in a corner of the apartment, away from the general craziness of a Tugger-Bomba party.
Demeter and Munk are so lost in their own little world, the hours go by as they talk about anything and everything. Eventually, it’s late into the night, nearly 3am as the final party-goers make their way out the door, and the only ones left in the apartment are Dem, Munk, Tugger and Bomba. Munk is slightly embarrassed at how long he’s stayed, usually not staying up this late unless he’s studying for exams. Demeter assures him it’s no problem, escorting him to the door, sad that their time together is suddenly over.
 Tugger and Bomba are tipsy, of course, and Tugger drunkingly gives Munk a little thumbs up as Bomba drags him into her room to give Demeter and Munk some privacy. Munk rolls his eyes at how obnoxious his brother is, but flushes once he’s alone with Demeter. He hasn’t had a single drop of alcohol, but yet feels slightly intoxicated from Demeter’s presence, also very sad that the night is now over.
For a split second, Demeter considers inviting him to stay the night, but ultimately decides against this, opting instead to blurt out if Munk would be interested in getting coffee sometime that week. Munk cannot agree fast enough, making a small “I was just about to ask you the same thing!” as the two swap contact information.
As Munk leaves the apartment to walk home, assuring Demeter that he doesn’t live far and he will be fine to walk this late at night, the two finally say their goodbyes, sharing one last smile before Demeter closes the door.
Demeter retreats to her room and debates barging into Bombalurina’s room to discuss things (and also to demand answers why for Bombalurina and Tugger decided to try and set her up with Munk in the first place). But when she receives a text only a few minutes later from Munk that says he made it home safe, and how much he enjoyed her company and how he cannot wait for their coffee date later that week, Demeter decides interrogating her can wait.
She sends Munk back a quick text expressing her excitement to see him too before falling asleep, wearing the biggest smile she’s had for almost a year as she daydreams about that promised coffee date.

Okay, so I wanted to at least do one thing for demestrap week. I know that I haven’t really done anything, mainly because I don’t want to alienate myself with my personal headcanons for Cats. I'm still nervous, okay? I saw that it was demestrap week, and I looked at the prompts, and I had this thought in my head that I wanted to do. This is one of two versions of my Cats human au. In this au, Deme and Bomba are sisters. In the other one, they are not. This is the biggest difference between them, though there are other differences I am not going into right now. And I am not going into the original version of both of these. Bomba, Tugger, and Munk have what we would consider sensible everyday names which are respectively Beatrice, Travis, and Marcus. HOWEVER, they address themselves as Bomba, Tugger, and Munk. They are their personal Jellicle names. Anyway, background is that Bomba and Tugger work/partially own/are the inheritors of their hometown’s local family restaurant/bar and they live in the apartment above the restaurant because Old Deuteronomy owns the building and set it up so that they could live there (It’s one of their many jobs. They have several). The only name I had for it is the Heaviside Layer Bar & Grille. Bomba is the Front-end Manager/Bartender(one of the bartenders) and Tugger is the back/kitchen manager with other managers as well. Demeter has a photography hobby that she manages to get paid for it, I feel in my human au. It’s just something about it that makes her happy, seeing how Bomba loves to see her sister smile. Munk is still the hardest for me to pin down his occupation. Also, They refer the kittens as kittens even though they are human. I have written this out yesterday and waited, because I needed to get it out.
Here we go
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Demestrap lunch date.
Demeter entered Heaviside, the door closing behind her as she walked towards the bar, where her older sister by 11 months stood, with her long dark red hair up in a ponytail, cleaning, her eyes lined with black eyeliner and dark red lipstick, and her ever-present spiked collar. Her black undershirt stood out from her half-buttoned up red gingham blouse with an old nametag reading ‘Beatrice’ written on it pinned to her side, as she looked up to see her younger sister. “Well, I haven’t seen you in a while.” The bartender commented, dramatically putting her hand with the rag to her face.
“You saw me yesterday, Bomba. With the kittens. We were teaching most of them dance. Caramel was watching. Etcetera was pushing your buttons.” Demeter snarked to Bomba, rolling her eyes, “Heaviside forbid you never see me more than once a day.”
Bomba smirked. “I love seeing you, Deme. Can I take it that you want to pick up some hours in your free time? Or you waiting for Munky?” Giving her younger sister a smile that meant more to Demeter.
Demeter again rolled her eyes at her sister’s impliance. “I don’t know whether or not you should spend so much time with Tugger, Bomb. I’m here to wait for Munk. He’s meeting me here for lunch. Care to give me a drink?”
“I choose to spend time with Tugger, thank you very much.” Bomba said, still smiling at Demeter, “I live with him.” Pointing with the rag still in her hand. “Now, what kind of drink would you like?”
“Something good with a bit of a kick.”
Bomba gave her a questioning look. “How do you plan on getting home?”
“Munk, of course. I walked here.”
“Did you feel safe to walk here?” Bomba asked, her voice laced with concern and slight fear.
“Yes, Bea. I made sure that I was completely visible to any passersby.” Demeter gave Bomba a knowing glare, making her sister back off on the worry. “I won’t have that happen again to either of us.”
Bomba released a breath she was holding. “Good. I know that you are strong, I just don’t want to see you like that again.”
“Same to you, Bomba.”
“Thank you for going back to Bomba. You know how I feel about my actual name,”
“Same as Munk and Tugger. Now, that drink.”
Bombalurina gave her sister a smile that Demeter knew. “I have just the right drink for you.” Demeter watched as Bomba went over to grab the bottles for that drink. She watched as her sister deftly mixed the drink with practiced ease. The process of how well Bomba made the drink made Demeter feel that Bomba was happy after what they went through growing up. Bomba slid the finished drink to her, and said, “Here you go, Dem. Vanilla Schnapps, Dr. Pepper, Maraschino cherry syrup and on top, and a dash of Baileys. I think that I got it right this time. But be careful, sis. This earned you a niece and nephew.”
“That was you, Bomba. I bet that Bailey’s doesn’t affect me like it does to you.” Demeter snarked. She took a sip and nodded to her. “This tastes good, Bomb. What took you so long to have me taste it?”
“Because I don’t know if Bailey’s makes you horny like me. After both times, I want to be sober when we make love. Jemima and Caramel are proof of how Bailey’s affects me. I want to be at least a semi-responsible sister.”
“Bomba, I’m legal now!”
“Well it’s the thought that counts!”
Demeter smiled at her sister, who shown her emotions in her eyes. Plato, Electra, Jemima, and Caramel have been good for her. She thought. “I love you, Cherry.
“And I love you too, Skittles.” Bomba gave her sister a loving smile.
“Will I ever have another nickname?” Demeter gave her a side-long glare.
Bomba shrugged. “It was either Goldi or Skittles. You know I borrow Tugger’s nicknames. Now, the cost of the drink will come out of your paycheck next time you pick up hours.”
“So I don’t have to pay now?”
“Eh, it’s the same thing I do with Jerrie and Teazer. You have no idea how many non-alcoholic drinks costs I take out of their paychecks. I tell them each and every time they ask me to make them mocktails.” Bomba said airly. Then, she gestured to Demeter. “Now go along, sit at a table. I’ll direct Munk to you. Enjoy that mixed drink. If you’re only having one then I’m fine with you driving. If you’re going to have more, then I will either insist Munk drive or I’ll stick you upstairs.”
Demeter laughed at Bomba’s quip. “Alright already, I’ll go sit. Thanks for the drink.” And she got up from the barstool she sat at.
As she went to one of the tables, she heard Bomba say, “And make sure that he knows that he’s perfect for you and him deprecating himself is not allowed in our family.”
“I tell him that everyday!”
“Well he doesn’t get the message apparently! You need to be more in his face about it!”
“And what? Be more like Tugger? Hah! Munk doesn’t need to emulate his younger brother! He’s perfect the way he is!”
“Then tell him that! Heaviside knows he worships the ground you walk on.”
Demeter just rolled her eyes at Bomba’s statement. Once she sat down, she sipped again on the mixed drink, marveling how Bomba finally managed to get the drink right after the first tries. While remembering seeing the results of the first few tries, a voice cut into her thoughts.
“Is this seat taken?” A deep familiar voice spoke. Demeter looked up to see her loving partner Munkustrap asking if it was okay to join her.
“Go right ahead, Munk.” She said, smiling at him.
“Don’t mind if I do.” As he sat down, Demeter looked at her man, his black hair with several strands of grey that were definitely from Deuteronomy, and his blue almost grey eyes. “I see that Bomba actually gave you a drink. Heaviside knows that she’s slightly overprotective of you.”
“More like she’s paying attention to the matter of the law. Bomba likes to follow the right procedure when it is absolutely necessary for the safety of everyone. Remember, she has to deal with not only Tugger, but Jerrie and Teazer as well.”
“At least I know exactly how Tugger is. Jerrie and Teazer, now those two I’m not so sure. They are our wild cards, after all.” Munk agreed, though always leery on the chaos twins.
“I trust Bomba with them because she knows how to redirect them to something good for all of us.” Demeter smirked, knowing exactly how fond both her and Bomba were of Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer. Demeter was always closer to Mungo like how Bomba was to Teazer. “Besides, she has Jeremy and Theresa deal with customers, and Jerrie and Teazer deal with the horrible customers. It’s like how you’re Munkustrap to the group and Marcus when we’re out in public. We have our public personas, which is Beatrice, Travis, and Marcus, and our Jellicle personas, which is our real selves as Bomba, Tugger, and you, Munk.”
“I always love it when you make sense of our siblings and our friends.” Munk said, gazing lovingly at her. “Bomba said that she’s tentatively calling that drink Cherry Surprise. Fitting, how it gave us our niece and nephew.” Pointing out her drink.
“She just wanted to make the name a bit on the nose for what it’s worth.” Demeter pointed out, sending the loving eyes right back at him. “It tastes really good, Munk. It’s no wonder Bomba got drunk on this.”
“And it’s no wonder that she feels safe enough to give it to her sister.” Munk quipped back. Demeter gave him a look.
“She trusts you with me. After what happened I understand.”
“And all the better. Tugger is getting unsufferable lately. Says that it’s safer to have a legal piece of paper so that they can tie everything up in bureaucracy.” Munk said, making a confused face on his younger brother’s words.
“And that’s the Bomba speaking. You know how ticked off she was with our former classmates when it came to Jemima. She went through all stops to put it on paper that Tugger is her dad. It wasn’t her word that was questioned, it was what Mac did to us.” With that mention, Demeter gave an involuntary shutter. Munk noticed, and placed his hand on hers, sending comfort. Everyone that was close to them knew what the eldest Deuteronomy brother did to the sisters. Just, majority of their classmates did not believed them, especially Bomba even though she is the most honest, blunt, and frank person in their lives.
“Hey.” Munk murmured, putting a hand on Demeter’s chin, lifting her face up gently to face him, “Both of you were very brave to escape that warehouse. While it was not the best time with both of you two healing from being there, both you and Bomba are the strongest people me and Tugger know. I look at you in awe, and so does Tugger, though probably not in the same line of thought. You are a goddess, Deme, and I willingly bow down to your presence, in any form.”
Demeter’s eyes glisten to Munk’s words. “Bast, you are so good to me. I love you so much, Munk.”
“And I as well.”
It was that moment that both of them noticed Tugger, dressed in a form-fitting black shirt, and his mane of dirty blonde hair tied behind his head, exit the kitchen, and snuck over to where Bomba was at the bar. She was looking over the stocks of different bottles of liquor and syrups when Tugger grabbed her sides and lifted her a bit. “TUGGER!” she cried as she turned around and slapped his shoulder, making him laugh. It was after a quick exchange of words when they started making out, causing both Demeter and Munk roll their eyes.
“Always in public.” Munk murmured, looking away and into the menu half-heartedly.
Demeter snorted in agreement. “Neither of them mind.” And joined him in the half-hearted perusal of the menu booklet.
Both of them were interrupted by a familiar cocky voice. “Welcome to the Heaviside Bar & Grille, I will be your waitr-oh hi Demeter, Munk! I didn’t realize that you guys were here today for lunch!” The oh-so-familiar trouble-making blonde friend Rumpleteazer exclaimed. She had on one of her main yellow shirts, and had rainbow suspenders clipped on her black skirt, with her nametag having ‘Theresa’ written on it with a heart on the end, her hazel eyes filled with mirth.
Demeter gave their friend a smile. “Hi Teazer. Me and Munk are here for lunch.” Munk just nodded in agreement.
“Right! What are you guys having, your usual?” Teazer asked, nodding, and getting ready to take their orders, her pencil at the ready.
Both Demeter and Munk shared a look, and Munk confirmed. “Yes, the usual.”
“Right-o! I’ll get Jerrie on that and it’ll be out in about fifteen minutes. Luckily it’s one of those days today around this time, so you guys came around at the right time. There’s only five of us waitresses on right now, including me. Reinforcements are supposed to be arriving around two, according to Bomba.” Teazer said, writing down their usual orders.
“So Bomba’s the main bartender right now?” Demeter asked, slightly curious.
“Yea. Tugger needs to get back in the kitchen right now if we get more customers. They’ve only have 6 people back there not including Tugs. Me brother is somehow in charge of the grill, and even I know that’s asking for trouble.” Teazer explained, making a face on the thought of Jerrie the grill. Demeter and Munk both gave agreeing faces on that thought. “Well, I’m going to give your orders to the crew, and see if they can get Jerrie off of grill. I feel like Mom wouldn’t like it if he came home with burns on his hands…again.” And with that, she left the two as she skipped into the kitchen.
Munk gave a confused look. “’Burns again?’ And you said that Bomba knows how to keep them in line?”
“I only know the outline. Bomba was not on that night and Tugger was making sure the orders went to the right customers during a busy night. Ernie made the mistake of putting Jerrie on grill in an attempt to curb him because he was being too much for Ernie and Declan both. Jerrie had no such training what so ever, so it’s a miracle Jerrie lasted as long as he did, and from what I managed to get, he accidentally hit something and the grill flared up, giving Jerrie some first degree burns on his hands and face, and he lost his eyebrows.” Demeter explained what she knew of the story, “When Bomba heard of it, she yelled at them about putting someone who wasn’t trained on a section on a busy night. The night did go smoothly, otherwise, so they didn’t loose profits.”
“And how did you hear of it?”
“When I picked up that shift two weeks ago.”
“Did you ask Bomba how she learned of it?”
“Mom and Jenny.”
“That explains it.”
“Yup.” Demeter popped the p. By then she noticed that her drink was half-gone. “Normally I don’t go through a mixed drink this fast.”
“You usually don’t like them.” Munk agreed, “Bomba succeeded in making a drink that you would like.”
“I’ll tell her later. She’s busy right now.” Gesturing to the bar where she and Tugger were kissing a while ago. She was not there at that moment, giving the idea that they were in her office.
“Jerrie must have driven Tugger to Bomba, if he was on grill.” Munk thought out loud, “He never did grow that much of a tolerance to the twin’s antics.”
“You would think that he would grow one living with Bomba.” Demeter chuckled as she took another sip of her Cherry Surprise. Man, she really liked it.
“How can you tolerate Jerrie, anyway?” Munk asked, giving her a smirk.
Demeter gave him one right back. “When you get past that goofy troublemaking exterior, he’s very sweet and caring. Always makes sure that I’m comfortable on my bad days. He has this sixth sense on how other people are feeling.”
Munk gave her another one of his loving gazes. “Deme, have I told you how much I love you?” “I know” Demeter lovingly smiled right back. With Teazer coming right back with their orders, they both continued to have small talk, enjoy this lunch date at the restaurant they both loved, with their siblings in the background making sure that the Heaviside Layer runs as smoothly as it possibly can with it’s collection of eclectic personalities of the employees and customers.
~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I did it. Enjoy! This made me slightly nervous. Again, I wanted to do this. I did intentionally hint at how my human au is, and I'm willing to answer questions on it.

Whats your favorite demestrap headcanon?
I was having thoughts about them recently that I’ve had trouble putting into words, but maybe I can do so here:
Bombalurina met the Jellicles shortly before Demeter. After the fallout with Macavity, she introduced Deme to the Junkyard with the hopes that they could find protection in numbers and start over. Munkustrap didn’t formally meet her until about a week later, but he was surprised to find himself immediately drawn to her. Her fur was thin and patchy, the scars from his attack hadn’t yet faded, and she was too skinny, yet her eyes told a story beyond anything he could imagine. She spooked at the sight of all but Jellylorum, but he hoped that she would eventually be comfortable enough to commune with the rest of the Tribe. Once she realized that no Jellicle would dare harm her and that the Junkyard was well guarded, he started to notice her basking in the sun with Bomba and Jemima at her side. Now she was speaking with Jelly and Jenny, her voice a little more confident than in times past. Before he understood what was happening, she started to ask about him. Finally, one day, she caught him passing the pipe and the two started to chat. Munkustrap couldn’t tell you today what they spoke about then; he was distracted by the fact that she was actually smiling at him and laughing at his stupid jokes. She started to seek him out after that, and once, Tugger told him, “Her tail drooped when she couldn’t find you.”At her first Jellicle Ball, they sat under the moonlight together and Demeter admitted she was attracted to him, but she wasn’t ready to be or have a mate yet. That night was bittersweet for them both. Munkustrap had no idea what she had been through, he just knew it was traumatic. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt or scare her, so he took a step back, kept his feelings to himself, and waited as patiently as he could until she was ready. And eventually…she was.
Something like that. TL;DR is that Munkustrap noticed Demeter first and his feelings for her grew until he thought he would explode, but he held back and kept his distance because he knew she wasn’t ready to have or be a mate. He loved her and he just knew she was worth waiting for, even if she didn’t believe it. I’m sure I’ve talked about this before, but it’s ALWAYS at the back of my mind.

last day of demestrap week (officially. demestrap week never ends in my house) and the prompt is ‘forever bonded.’
---
Jemima tucked her head in the crook of her mother’s shoulder, leaning over slightly, eyes regarding the little kitten in her arms, born less than an hour ago, with curiosity.
“She’s so small,” Jem noted, almost with disbelief. She had never seen someone so small before. Until now, Jemima had been the youngest in the tribe, so she’d never known a newborn kitten until now, never known someone smaller than herself.
Demeter breathed a laugh, exhausted and sore beyond belief, but feeling unbelievably joyful. Jem’s observation was so endearing, and the way her eyes had widened and she gasped a little upon first seeing her sister was even moreso, almost as much as Munk shedding tears when he first held their new kitten. Demeter adjusted Sillabub in her arms a little so Jemima could see her better, really study her.
She looked so much like Munk, Deme thought, but he had argued almost immediately that she looked more like Demeter. Time would tell, they supposed.
“You were that small too once,” Demeter said softly, brushing a finger over Sillabub’s tiny nose. She was so precious, and fast asleep, clearly exhausted by the ordeal of being brought into the world. Demeter could sympathize.
“I can’t believe it,” Jemima replied, laughing shyly, trying to process the idea of that. She grinned at her parents, amazed at such a concept.
“It’s true,” Munkustrap assured her from Demeter’s other side, gaze fondly travelling between Jemima, Demeter, and the precious newest addition to their family. “Tiny Jem-i-mee, you were. You fit in my paws so easily, just like her.” He placed a paw over Demeter’s, cradling their kitten, demonstrating how Sillabub was indeed small enough to fit in his two paws together.
“You’re not so tiny anymore,” Demeter lamented, turning her head to kiss Jem’s forehead. “And soon she won’t be either.” She sighed a little at the thought. Jemima’s baby days felt so far away, the good and the bad. She couldn’t bear the thought of Sillabub’s disappearing so quickly too.
Munkustrap laughed a little, leaned in closer to nuzzle his mate. She was a bit disheveled, and her voice weak and a little gravelly still, but he found her beautiful nonetheless. “Don’t get ahead of yourself. We have plenty of time before then. She was just born,” he reminded her.
He couldn’t keep the smile off his face really; He was so proud of Demeter, for bringing their kitten into the world, and indeed carrying her all these months. She’d done it with such strength and grace, and allowed him to support her when she needed it, shared her vulnerability with him. And now the fruits of her labor rested in her arms, warm and soft and smelling new. And he was so proud of Jemima too, for being patient with them, and for embracing her little sister without qualm. They were incredible, and he loved them so very much.
His affection was almost palpable, and Demeter sighed softly, leaning into his touch gratefully when he spoke.
“Plenty of time,” she agreed, remembering to focus on the here and now, how it felt to finally have Sillabub in her arms, and to have Jemima here with her. She loved her girls. She loved them so much, it was sure to drive her to tears later on, when she felt more coherent. For now she tried to stay focused on the conversation.
“And besides, what does it matter? You’ll always be our Tiny Jem-i-mee,” she said with such tenderness, and it was the truth. No matter how big the girls got, they would always be her little girls.
Jemima beamed at that, snuggled a little closer to her mother, feeling excited and happy and in disbelief of these happenings all at once. It still felt strange, to see a kitten in her mother’s arms, to know she was a big sister. There were so many questions, so many things to wonder about, she didn’t know where to begin for a moment. Her brows tugged down a little, clearly deep in thought.
“But what will she be called? Sillabub needs a nickname too,” Jemima prodded, having decided to begin with an easy question.
“Oh,” Deme sighed, laughing softly. “I’m too tired to think of one. Don’t know how much energy I have left,” she admitted. She’d stopped trembling ten or so minutes ago, but was a long way away from feeling normal again.
“Mommy needs her rest,” Munkustrap agreed, stroking her forehead gently. He was more than happy to take Sillabub into his own arms soon, to hold her again while Demeter slept.
He couldn’t imagine how tired she really was, and more importantly, how she had managed all this alone and out on the streets when she had Jemima. It seemed insane to him, after all he’d witnessed today, but she had done it, and now she’d done it again, with him here. He was unbelievably grateful to have found both of them, that they had left him become part of their lives, and to now bring a new life into the world with the queen he loved? It was an unimaginable privilege.
“We’ll have practically forever to think up the perfect nickname for little Sillabub,” he said, and he could tell Demeter was grateful at getting a chance to rest soon.
“Forever?” Jemima asked, almost hopeful at the idea of being like this, with her family, forever. She loved her parents, so much, and knew that soon enough, she would love her little sister the same. She wanted as much time with them, and her tribe, as the Everlasting Cat would allow.
Munkustrap smiled at her fondly, reached over to pet her ear and tickle her neck as he’d done a thousand times before, feeling nothing but joy and the deepest affection for his three girls. He would cherish them a lifetime. “Forever and a day,” he promised.

since today is marriage day for demestrap week, here are some demestrap human AU wedding thoughts:
they always knew they wanted to get married, but they made the decision to wait until Demeter had Jemima, one big moment at a time
Bombalurina was Demeter's maid of honor, and Tugger was Munk's best man (of course)
Jemima was a very big part of the ceremony, because she was their family, and Munkustrap wanted to make sure he showed just as much devotion to her as he did to Demeter
Jemima, still a little baby, was in Demeter's arms instead of a bouquet
She babbled throughout the whole wedding and it made everyone laugh and smile
Munkustrap cried watching Demeter walk down the aisle
Demeter cried reading her vows and when she heard Munkustrap's
During the reception, they barely let go of each other's hands, and couldn't stop smiling at each other, because they were just so incredibly happy
After he danced with Demeter, Munkustrap danced just with Jemima, cradling her in his arms and just slowly swaying on the dance floor, and pretty much everyone was in tears. The pictures from that moment are some of Demeter's most cherished possessions
They didn't take a "real" honeymoon until years later, when Jemima was old enough to stay with her other family. The vacation was a gift that everyone put a little money in to help get it for them, and Munkustrap absolutely got choked up as Demeter opened the tickets.

Hello there! This is for @porgs-are-space-puffins‘ demestrap week. I saw today’s prompt and had so many ideas. So much so that it was difficult to pick just one. But here we are. I might expand on this at a later point and upload it to AO3 but I like what I have here. Enjoy!
Prompt: First Meeting
Demeter looked through the photo album with a smile etched on her face. It wasn’t the first time she’d looked through it and it wouldn’t be the last. But her eyes stayed on one particular picture. One could say it was her favorite.
What she didn’t see was her husband Munkustrap who quietly took a seat on the couch rather than on the floor.
“What are you looking at this time?” He knew how much she loved to look at pictures.
Demeter sighed, “Oh I’m just looking at this one.” She pointed to an old picture that was slightly faded and discolored. But one could see the love and care that was captured.
“Isn’t that the day we met?” Munkustrap had almost forgotten his lovely brother took that picture.
She nodded, “Yep. I think I remember you freaking out.”
He gave her an exasperated expression, “Of course I was freaking out! I spilled my drink on you.”
“And then you proceeded to grab all the napkins to try and dry me off,” She chuckled at Munkustrap’s response. It was ridiculous at the time. In fact, it still was.
They were quiet for a moment before Munkustrap brought something up, “You know Dem.”
“Yes”
“I think, if I didn’t spill my drink and Tugger didn’t push me, I don’t think we would have ever met.”
Demeter thought for a moment. Maybe he was right. But then again. “Well I think we would have eventually met but I’m happy it was at that very moment.”
She turned and gave Munk a short kiss. “And you still would have spilled a drink on me to get my attention.” She laughed as she stood up and left the room.
Munkustrap, who was still dazed at the comment, waited a second, “Wait! Dem what did you mean?”

Okay, I would like to point out that this does have some of my personal head canons in it, and this is where I possibly realized that I took some inspiration from an older hyper fixation of mine for some part of my personal characterization of Bombalurina. Yes, I can explain for the relationships I implied, though as I would like to remind, I am a multishipper and accept a lot of ships, no matter what kind of ships they are, though some have to have a certain flavor. I create stories with a multitude of different ship expressions. Enjoy!
Protection
In any lifetime, any universe, the Rum Tum Tugger could say while Bombalurina was generous in her love, honest, frank, and unable to lie, voluptuous as anything, there was one thing that always surprised him about his love: Her protective streak towards those she loves.
As actual cats…
“GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF HER, YOU HORRIBLE MANGY CAT!!!” Demeter heard as she saw Bombalurina pouncing on top of Macavity, rage filling her eyes.
While trying to hold off some of his brother’s henchcats, Tugger watched as Bomba literally fighting Macavity to protect Demeter. ‘Oh, she is so hot.’ Then his attention was drawn back to the henchcat he was holding back.
“LEAVE, MACAVITY! NEITHER OF US WANT YOU HERE!” He heard her scream at Macavity, clawing slaps and hissing came abound in their scuffle. Demeter managed to get away to hide maybe, while Bomba was fighting Macavity, as Tugger glanced towards her. Once he managed to subdue the henchcat, he galloped to Bomba to support her, when Demeter managed to, out of nowhere, jump onto Macavity’s back, causing him to yowl in pain. Bomba hissed at him as well, rage rolling her eyes. He also noticed that there was what looked like smoke coming off of her, and for a moment he could see what looked like a smoky grey cat right next to her, with a coat pattern he hadn’t seen since they were kittens.
‘What Dad and Gus mentioned as her passive magic.’ Tugger thought, realizing that the almost unnoticeable smoke was coming from her fur like magic, her eyes blazing, seeing through his brother’s magic. He noticed Munk, gob smacked that Demeter was actually clawing Macavity. He could tell from his brother’s eyes that he was also was having certain thoughts about his mate. Tugger himself certainly was. “Like what you see, huh, Munks?”
Munk only gave him a glare, but Tugger knew that he was having those thoughts. Both of them watched as Macavity got to the point where he decided to high tail it out of the Junkyard, with his henchcats. Bomba watched them just pop out though for her it was him just using his magic to make it look like he popped out while he just ran. Slowly relaxing from her rage, she felt Demeter nudge her side affectionately, Bomba returning the gesture, the smoke letting up and the smoky cat fade from visibility. Tugger watched as both Jenny and Jelly came out and ushered both Demeter and Bomba to their den, where the kittens were waiting. ‘I’m so going to help her relax and reward her.’ He thought, letting those thoughts of her fill his mind.
As humans…October 22nd, 2006…
“Come on!” Munk urged his brother, both of them running towards the girls and three of the children, lovingly called the kittens, when they were alerted by Demeter managing to call Munk only what seemed to be twenty minutes ago when in reality it was ten minutes that Mac finally decided to make an appearance. Thanks to some forewarning from Grizabella to Bomba that Mac not only knew of Jemima but how frustrated Bomba was that their former classmates thought that she was Mac’s when in fact she was Tugger’s daughter, and no matter what Bomba did to literally prove that her father was in fact Tugger they still thought that Mac was Jemima’s father, and in some sick twisted thought process, he was going to make some kind of scene to prove to the idiotic masses that he was only her uncle, not father. Terrified, both Bomba and Demeter planned just in case he would actually go through with it. If they went out, they went out together and in public so that it was harder for him to take them back to the warehouse. Another part of the plan was that Bomba would hold him up while Demeter contacted Munk so that they could have back up, making it even harder for him to take one if not both of them back, especially Demeter. Today, it happened. Munk got the panicked call from Demeter. As they came up to the mall plaza, there was Bomba, glaring at Mac, with Victoria and Michael clinging onto Demeter on each side and little 5-month-old Jemima safely ensconced in Demeter’s arms.
Bomba, standing protectively in front of Demeter, had her Tanner Temper full out. “You just have to make a scene, huh, Mac.” She growled out.
Mac, having that annoying look that said, ‘I’m in control and there is nothing you can do about it’, only snorted. “Only when I need to make a point, Rina.” Making Bomba bristle at that mention of his nickname for her. “That tiny girl in Metra’s arms, that’s Jemima?”
“I won’t let you touch my daughter.” She gave him a sharp glare, looking ready to pounce on him.
“Mother finally did divulge me that you and Tuggy had a kid.” He smirked.
“After you tortured her.”
Mac gave her a raised eyebrow. “You finally forgave her? I’m amazed you actually did, Rina.”
“Stop calling me that.”
“Au Contrare, Rina. I heard how much of a fuss about how these idiotic peasants of our former classmates think that your little girl is mine.” Then, raising his voice so that the onlookers would hear him. “Contrary to the popular belief that I’m Beatrice’s daughter’s father, I’m only her uncle. Little Jemima’s father is standing right there, idiots.” Pointing to Tugger. “How does it feel, little brother, to finally be a father?”
Tugger bristled at the attention that Macavity brought to him. “Leave your filthy hands off my partner and daughter.” He growled out loudly to Mac and the onlookers.
“Oh, finally grew a backbone, little Tuggy Wuggy?” Mac said, with a creepy teasing tone in his voice.
“Oh, just buzz off, Cormac.” Tugger growled at his eldest brother. No matter what this situation was, he wasn’t going to curse in front of Victoria and Michael and get Demeter angry at him when they start spouting off curse words, they would learn from him. It was bad enough that Jemima was going to end up learning curse words because neither him nor Bomba could censor themselves in front of Jemmy. Angry Bomba he could deal with. Angry Demeter? No way in hell. He will stay away from that thunderstorm if he could help it.
Mac just shrugged and turned back his attention to Bomba and Demeter. “So, I hope that my intervention helped in your little issue, lovely Rina. Though I wonder…would little Jemima be a firecracker like you or soft and sweet like the lovely Demeter?” Tauntingly to Bomba, the creepiness in his eyes lighting up.
That did it. That comment made Bomba’s temper, her rage, flare up like a wildfire. “YOU WILL NOT TOUCH MY DAUGHTER!” She screamed, sending a staggering haymaker right into Mac’s face, staggering him.
He fingered around his left eye, clearly the power Bomba put into the punch. His explosive rage filled his eyes, and-
CRACK
Bomba was send down into the ground, Mac giving her what was clearly a powerful smash into her face, breaking his vow to not punch her, Tugger, and Munk in the face so hard after what happened last time eight years ago when he sent her to the hospital with a fractured right cheekbone and crushed nose, causing her to have surgery to ensure she could breathe through her nose. Tugger didn’t realize that he started moving until he knelt down next to her. Demeter wordlessly moved Jemima into her father’s arms, and Tugger, feeling that Jemima was in his arms, was prepared to protect both Bomba and Jemima from his treacherous brother. Demeter crawled to Bomba, and helped her into a sitting position, seeing how bad the damage was. He watched as Mac looked down at her, his face dawning in realization that he broken his own vow. “Are you happy now, Mac? That you helped make your point that Jemima’s mine?” Tugger growled to Mac, letting his quiet rage seep into his voice and eyes, “You finally got my anger up. Leave my family alone.”
His face frozen in shock, Mac, looking numbly at Tugger, then to Bomba, then back to Tugger, just turned and ran, disappearing from the square. Bystanders finally decided to either look for the escaped Macavity or run towards them in an attempt to help them. Munk stood in front of the group, providing a wall between the ensuing crowd and the three semi-adults and three tiny children kittens. Michael tugged on Tugger’s sleeve of his leather jacket. “Unca Tugger, is Aunty Bomba okay?” He asked, worry covering his face.
“I don’t honestly know, Misto. Demeter is helping Bomba up.” Tugger said, sagging in relief that the threat of Macavity has passed. “That was Macavity the Mystery Cat. Bomba and Demeter have a past with him.”
“And you and Munk, Travis.” Demeter finally murmured, trying to sooth Victoria while helping Bomba sit up.
“He hurt Mommy and Aunty Bomba. He a mean cat.” Misto concluded in his 2-year-old brain.
Finally sitting up, Bomba started to flex her jaw. “…I think my left cheekbone is fractured, Tugger. It feels like how my right side of my face felt back when we were ten after that beating.” She muttered as she attempted to flex her jaw through the pain. Tugger gave her a soft look, and Jemima was squirming in her father’s arms. Bomba sighed and motioned to him. “Give Jemmy to me, Tug. She wants to cuddle with me. She wants mommy.” Tugger gave her a soft smile and handed Bomba their five-month-old daughter, who immediately curled up into her mother’s chest. “Oh Jemmy. I know, Mommy is hurt. He threatened to hurt you, and I couldn’t let that happen. Jemima, I would let myself get hurt to protect you from that mean cat.” Bomba soothed her daughter who looked up to her face with tears in her eyes. Bomba’s left eye was swelling up and throbbed, but she made sure to look at her daughter’s face, seeing that Jemima was upset.
“She’s so much like you, Bomb.” Tugger said softly, sitting down on the ground, and gently moving Bomba into his arms, “I was so scared that he’ll take you away again, Bea.” He murmured into her hair, kissing her head.
“I didn’t want Mac to lay a finger on her, Trav. I punched him because he threatened her.” Bomba laughed, crying at the same time, “I punched him, Tug. I finally punched him and made him hurt. It felt…I don’t know…satisfying to hit him and leave a mark. I finally got enraged enough to let my temper out physically.” Hugging Jemima closer to her breast. “I…didn’t want him to touch Demeter again, nor Vicky and Michael. I didn’t want him to touch any of us again.”
“I know, Cherry Bomb, I know.” He murmured into her ear, rubbing up and down her arms, giving light touched to Jemima to help sooth her, “You did so good, Bea. I knew that you were afraid, and that you faced him with courage. I was frozen in fear of him taking you away again.” The sirens of first responders came closer, as the family cuddled closer together, to try and drive away the fear that Mac drove into them again, the kittens not understanding what just happened and why did Bomba got hurt because of it.
