My contribution to @bombawife‘s Demestrap Week event! It’s been ages since I’ve drawn Kilworth Munk and i love him utterly. Figuring out this version of Demeter was lots of fun too. I am really proud of how this piece turned out.

Kilworth House Demestrap Headcanons, pls, Bestie?
undercover agent Demeter!!!
she had a relationship with Macavity, but after watching him spiral, she decided to leave him and help the Jellicles. Munkustrap was the one who went between the train station and Macavity's hideout, gathering information from Demeter and Bombalurina, and it was during those visits that their feelings started to form.
They danced around their emotions for a while, things still being a little too dangerous and a little too uncertain for either Demeter or Munkustrap to confess, but when the time of the Ball came around, and Demeter and Bombalurina participated, and when everything was over, they decided to take the chance with a relationship!

Demeter for the character asks maybe?
Why I like them.
She's just such an interesting character, and in the 1998 film she's the first character you see.
Why I don't
This wig. Everything else about this design is amazing, but the wig.

There's a lot, but I like when she almost touches Grizabella but doesn't.

Since the jemistrap ruffled someone's feathers, and since there's stuff I've been wanting to broach abt the non replica for a while. I have some tough news to break abt another potential thing from kilworth house (not tough as in I think it's bad, tough as in if yall had any moral consistency you'd stop watching this show rather than go after people for shipping what the show gives us to ship)
Alonzo is likely in secondary school. I made a whole post breaking this down.
Demeter is decidedly not a schoolgirl
They likely went with Demelonzo, not Demestrap. In the clip we have of the Ball, not only are Jemima and Munkustrap dancing together, but so are Demeter and Alonzo. This photo also implies Alonzo was the one demeter rushed to following the Macavity fight
Sailor dresses aren't the exclusive domain of young children. Nautical inspired fashion was popular in the 30s (as was a high waistline), and explicitly sailor-themed dresses were huge in the 40s (there was a fucking war)
(That last one was the main dress I was referencing while drawing my piece)
Pigtail braids, likewise, are definitely not exclusive to young children, especially if someone has a lot of hair but isn't actively styling it up atm.
But here's the thing:
It actually doesn't matter whether or not she's "intended" to be a certain age. I think she might have been, but I haven't seen the full show.
Even if she's intended to be a little kid, I don't see her that way so tough shit lmao. I think it's p clear I didn't draw a child.
I'm not forcing anyone to read Jemima as older.

It's very out of left field and out of hand to send me anons 3 days out with the presumed intention of guilting me into thinking that shipping pretend cats is the same as allowing real children to be groomed and abused.
It's especially underhanded to finger wag at a trans person abt grooming in the current climate, especially when you and i both know these are fake characters, and you cant even cling to the idea of child actors bc every actor involved here is an adult.
Since you've got me talking abt kilworth house jemistrap, tho:
Balaclava were British military gear in ww2. Munk is in the military. Jemima is wearing a balaclava.
He's a pilot, and she's got a navy dress; air and sea
Their reason for being at the station apart from the air raid could be that he's shipping back out and she's seeing him off.
