Miss Fisher Snippets (169)
By S2E2 Death Comes Knocking, Jack was no longer surprised by Phryne’s presence at his crime scenes. Instead, he was amused and even delighted to see her – whether he admitted it or not.

they honestly couldve done so much with junpei beheaded/dismembered and im disappointed that it ended up just being mira. so much of his character and his relationship with akane is characterized by his lack of bodily autonomy, and him being openly beheaded during the nonary games would be the ultimate example of this. its perhaps the most brutal death in the game, and it never really gets explained or developed beyond the one puzzle that we get with it. junpei has been shown repeatedly to be subject to akane's plans or follow her blindly and i just think that would have been a really interesting angle to approach his beheading from. junpei has willingly signed up for nonary games in two different timelines just because he knew he would see her. he was infected with a deadly virus trying to find her. he grew desensitized to death as he took underground jobs to try and find her. his safety always comes second when shes in the picture, and his beheading wouldve been a prime opportunity to 1. exploit his willingness to let himself die/be injured for her and 2. make akane confront the fact that her confidence that junpei will always follow after her is not necessarily a positive thing.

codywan order 66 except the GAR identifies the chips early so they must work discreetly and slowly to deactivate the inhibitors, pushing cody into telling obi-wan to "stop him by any means necessary", which translates to "if i'm not myself, i want it to be you to put me down"
the tension amongst the troopers and jedi as they are unsure of when the chips will be activated. they're still trying to figure out who will be the one to activate them, and because of all this uncertainty, every move is to be taken with caution.
any moment the troopers can turn. distance is attempted among the troops and jedi, the men thinking it's too much of a risk bc they don't know what they will be capable of when if the chips are activated. the jedi have none of that, they will figure this out together.
cody is still reluctant to be anywhere near the jedi, most especially obi-wan. he knows of his rank, why he is the marshal commander of the 3rd system army. he knows how much power it takes to take down a droid army; how much power to put behind a punch to cause permanent damage; how much a cup of blood can sting when it is spilling between his fingers bc he was just a second too late from saving a vod.
but he also knows obi-wan—that his general is faithful, kind enough for a war, that though his saber can cut through anything, it is his tongue that you should brace for the strike.
and so when they're alone one night after a sorting through reports and humming over cups of tea and caf, cody sets down his pad and displays his everlasting trust in his jedi.
and the cody's chip does get activated one day at the worst time possible when it's just him and obi-wan alone and it's not even a slow thing. it's almost swift, this change, the crying in the force that something is terribly wrong, but obi-wan still hears—feels cody resist and his cry for obi-wan to do his part. he barely had time to deflect cody's blaster before cc-2224 is on him, his trusted knife in hand, blaster in the other bc cc-2224 knows cody's jedi—he knows what he can do and how to chip at his weaknesses and play with them to make sure success is clean and precise.
they fight.
it's the first time obi-wan breaks a promise.

thought a little too long about what readjusting to being in each other's lives again must have been like for Majima and Saejima. coming back to one of the only people you still have left only to realize they're not the person you had to leave behind. the commadarie is there, but in a new font because you lived an entire life away from each other. how long did it take for Majima to ease up on the Mad Dog persona around Saejima, to register that he was still safe and wouldn't be taken away from him again?
only for Saejima to go back to jail and set them back to square one, adding another name to the list of people that Majima is patiently waiting for. another hand holding the leash that grounds him because they're all he really cares about at this point, Tojo be damned. how long did it take for Saejima to learn how to navigate the minefield that is the Mad Dog? how many times did Majima metaphorically bare his teeth and fight against someone seeing under the mask? it would be safe to let him in, it's just his Taiga, but for almost 30 years raising his hackles is what he's known best.
and how many times did Saejima push through regardless, because despite the showmanship and the decades lost, that's still his kyoudai.

Miss Fisher Snippets (148)
Of the two Red Raggers, Cec is more the observer and thinker. His answer to Bert here is quite insightful. If Mrs. Bolkonsky had chosen to apply her “genuine gift” to becoming a private detective, I think she could have been rather successful.

anyway episodes that sam's psychic powers should have come back during. imagine him arguing with this 'i'm a real psychic' guy and then yanking his gun out his hand with his own powers. fully on accident but it happens.
now see there's some drama for him and dean! that would work! sam tried to hide his hallucinations but couldnt. but theoretically he could hide this. and he should! because his brother literally just went and killed a woman for being a little too on the monster side for his liking. for being so evil that she couldn't possibly change. and so if sam's powers came back now? sam's powers? that he has because he has demon blood? he would be so fucking sick with stress trying to hide that from dean.
because. you know. if dean's already jumping for a reason to 'deal with' sam because he's hallucinating, a thing he can't even control. then what else is sam supposed to assume will happen once dean knows about this?
