If Miss Fisher's was told from Jack's perspective instead of Phryne's, she would be the most hilarious deus ex machina creature in existence.
Need a piece of evidence? Phryne has it in her pocket!
Need to know about a suspect's finances? Phryne pops by the station with the information!
Need to arrest a guy and don't know where he is? Dot called, and Phryne has disarmed him, is sitting on his head, and waiting for the police to come get him.
As the audience, we see how Phryne gets these things done, but Jack can basically just sit at his desk with the file open and wait for Phryne to randomly hand him all the relevant evidence/information in a convenient narrative order.
