Dean and Cas go on a solo hunt and it goes entirely to plan - it's like everything they do works out perfectly, they have some insane luck, and they solve the case and save the day without anymore casualties or injuries.
Dean is a little confused over how well it went, because their track record isn't usually that squeaky clean easy-breezy, but he's buzzing at the easy hunt either way.
and Cas is like, well it IS Thursday.
????? What does it being Thursday have to do with anything?? Dean says, fond.
So Cas explains that he's the Angel Of Thursday, of course. so he's extra lucky and things just always naturally go his way on Thursdays.
and Dean has to take a moment. has to hold up his hand and take a moment. because. because this whole time. if they'd have had Cas with them on hunts. on Thursdays. they'd have all been this easy???
Cas considers this and is like, I believe so, yes. isn't it strange that I've never been along on a hunt on a Thursday before now :)
while Dean's whole world view has just shifted and he's figuring out how to tell Sam they can only ever go out on hunts on Thursdays from now on as long as they have Cas with them whilst simultaneously like, Angel of THURSDAY? The day? Thursday? What all the badass titles were taken when they gave you yours??
When Cas goes :( Dean has to reassure him that Thursday is a GREAT day actually. Best day of the week! And they spend the whole ride back talking about cool stuff that happened on Thursdays.

Castiel Falling in Love with a Reader Who is the Goddess of Life Headcanons
@slayingyourmomrn
Tumblr media
-To be honest, Castiel doesn’t think he deserves to fall in love with anyone, let alone a goddess. He’ll probably mope around a while, talk about how he can’t do this, how it’ll all go wrong, and just make a little depression nest as he goes through the motions.
-He’ll have probably met you during one of the many times that he, Sam, or Dean has died. In place of a reaper or Death, it was you, the Goddess of Life here to save the heroes who take care of the world. Your viewpoint was different from the other entities that they’ve encountered. You cared.
-Perhaps Castiel is just a hopeless little fallen angel who sees every good being as a beacon of hope, but when he starts to fall in love, he tells himself to stop. He knows it can only end in pain, like everything else has for him.
-The boys, Dean especially, would encourage him to follow his heart. Perhaps it wasn’t worded as nicely as that, but the Winchesters would definitely look at this from a standpoint of “the Goddess of Life is dating our angel buddy. Now we have a powerful ally.” Of course, they want their friend to be happy as well, but with all the dying they do, it’d be nice to have you.
-You and Castiel would bond through an experience when you were trying to make him feel better. Cue hopeless Cas talking about how the world is doomed and there is nothing he can do to help. You would show him your powers of life, explaining how nothing really ever dies around you. So, he should show a smile, there is an abundance of life around him all the time.
-Gabriel would pop in to help his brother out here. I mean, the archangel would hit up the Goddess of Life if it wasn’t so clear that Castiel wanted you. If anything, the fake Loki here would get on your nerves.
-Castiel gets those little nervous jitters when you’re around, like a schoolboy with a crush. He would stutter a bit, get all red in the face, and his wings would flutter in excitement. Dean teases him all the time, which makes Cas do his disappointed face.
-The angel doesn’t know if he’ll ever be able to say how he feels about you because this life he has never allows good things to stick around. He wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to you. So, perhaps he’ll keep things to himself in order to keep you safe. Unless you say something first.

“Sam! Look out!” Dean yells as he sinks his silver blade into the heart of the werewolf he’s been wrestling.
Sam is standing over a werewolf he just killed. He turns around to see why Dean yelled, feeling claws tear the flesh on his left side as he turns. His right hand goes to the wound, his knife falls from his left hand, and he makes eye contact with the wolf as it roars. The roar quickly turns into a look of confusion and hurt before the wolf collapses in front of Sam. Behind the wolf, you are left standing in front of Sam, smirk on your face and blood-covered knife in hand, “Hi, I’m Y/N. Looked like you could use some help.”
“Yeah. Thanks. I’m Sam.” Sam says, still holding his side. Damn, she’s gorgeous, he thinks to himself.
“Not a probl-“ you’re cut off by a werewolf suddenly behind you, grabbing you by the neck and throwing you into a nearby tree. Everything goes black.
The next thing you know, your eyes snap open in the back of a car. Your head is propped up by something warm and you feel like you can’t breathe. Your body is in so much pain, it feels like you’re on fire. You start to panic, willing your body to move to find a way out.
“Hey, no, you’re okay,” Sam’s face comes into view above you. You realize your head is propped up on his lap and he’s trying to hold your arms down so you don’t flail around. “I need you to look at me and take a second, Y/N.”
You try to calm down. You look into his hazel eyes and your mind tries to catch up. Well, you think, if this is how I go, at least I get to look into a touch of Heaven first.
You try to remember how you got here. “Right,” you start, voice raspy, “werewolves. Winchesters.”
Sam’s eyebrows furrow, “You know who we are?”
You nod and then wince when it causes a jolt of pain like lightning through you.
“Sorry, right, not important right now,” his voice continues, “you’re injured pretty badly. We’re on our way to the hospital to get-”
“No!” You cut him off. “Please, no hospitals.”
“Okay, okay,” Sam takes your hand in his, then makes eye contact with his brother who’s driving. “No hospital.” He looks back at you, “Can we at least take you to our bunker to-“
“Sammy,” Dean warns. “We don’t even know her, you want to take her to the bunker?”
“What other option do we have, Dean? Cas is busy and not answering. She’s injured because she saved me!”
“Uh, hello? I’m right here.” You interject awkwardly. “You can just drop me at my motel room, I’m sure I’ve dealt with worse alone before.”
“No, we’re taking you to our bunker and doing what we can to fix you up. It’s the least we can do.” Sam leaves no room for argument. Dean grumbles under his breath in the front seat but keeps driving.
You try to mentally take stock of your injuries. Hm, you think, definitely a few broken or at least bruised ribs. Probably a concussion. I feel wet and sticky so I’m sure I’m bleeding somewhere but must not be too bad since I’m still alive. For now, at least, I guess.
Sam continues holding your hand and mindlessly running his fingers through your hair until the car eventually stops and is shut off. Dean gets out of the car first, “I’ll get stuff set up in the infirmary.”
Sam eases himself out from under your head, then turns back toward you. “Can I, um-“ he reaches his arms toward you.
“Carry me? I can probably walk.” You start to sit up, but you’re hit with a tidal wave of nausea and fall back to the seat. You take as deep a breath as you can manage, pushing the nausea away as best you can, “Okay, maybe not. Would you mind?”
“No, no, not at all,” he insists. Suddenly you’re in his arms, he’s walking, and you’re wondering what kind of muscles he has hidden under all that plaid. He laughs under his breath a little, cheeks and ears turning red. You realize you must have wondered out loud. “Sorry,” you say, turning to hide your face against his shoulder.
“It’s okay,” he says. “Probably the best compliment I’ve had in a while.”
He makes his way to what you assume is the infirmary. Dean is setting out supplies for bandages, stitches, and wound cleaning next to an old cot. Sam gently places you down on the cot. “Are you okay with me checking out your wounds and cleaning you up some?”
You respond in the affirmative. Dean is standing a few feet away, leaning against another cot, staring at you. “So how long have you been a hunter? What’s your deal?”
“Dean,” Sam says, and fixes him with a look. “Can’t this wait?”
“It’s fine, Sam,” you touch his arm. You lean forward, reach over, grab shears and hand them to Sam. “Start with my back, it hurts the worst.”
Sam looks at you for a moment, then gets to work cutting your shirt open from behind. He sucks in a breath through his teeth. “How’s the damage back there, Sam?” You ask.
“Well, you’re definitely gonna hurt for a while. I’ll have to stitch a few wounds back here, and you’re already bruising.” He prods his way down your back on each side, “Feels like a few broken ribs, too.”
You realize you’ve had your eyes closed, relaxing to his voice even as he delivers the news. “I figured. Just do what you can please.”
Sam starts cleaning and stitching what he can. You explain that you’ve been a hunter since birth, your mother dying in childbirth and your now deceased father raising you in the hunting life until he died when you were barely a teen. Then you tell them how Bobby Singer has treated you like his own.
“How come we’ve never ran into you before then? We’re at Bobby’s all the time.” Dean asks, still seeming skeptical.
“I haven’t been back there in years. Even when I was there, I stayed for a few hours max. I keep busy,” you explain, “I didn’t grow up in one place, so it always felt weird to stay stagnant. Felt dangerous.”
“Like things could catch up to you if you stopped moving,” Sam says quietly from behind you, his large but gentle hands continuing to sew a large gash down your back from the tree. You nod as best you can without making the pain worse.
“Alright,” Dean says, “you can stay as long as you want. At least stay until you’re healed. The place is warded, you’ll be safe here. You got this, Sammy?”
“Yeah, we’ll be good.”
“Alright, I’m gonna go clean the blood out of Baby and hit the hay.” Dean leaves, throwing a wave over his shoulder.
“Baby? I assume that’s his car?” You ask.
Sam laughs lightly, “yeah.”
Silence passes between you two, but it doesn’t feel awkward. Sam finishes with your back, and then you feel him gently place something over your back, his hand lingering on your shoulder for a moment. You’re hit with a wave of his smell, and you realize he placed his plaid shirt on you. He comes around in front of you, now in a short sleeve black V neck that lets you see exactly how ripped he is. Holy muscles, you think, so that’s how he carried me so easily.
“I’m pretty sure you have a concussion too. You seem to be okay mentally so far, but let’s keep it that way, yeah?”
You laugh a little, looking away shyly to break your stare, “yeah, sounds good to me. Thanks, Sam.”
“No, thank you for saving me.”
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry, do you need stitched up too? He scratched you before I got him, didn’t he?” You reach for his side, mentally smacking yourself for forgetting.
“No, no, I’m okay. Not deep enough to need stitches, I don’t think.” He brushes you off, glancing down at his side where the shirt is torn, long but thin scratches peeking out underneath.
“If you say so. But seriously, thank you. You definitely saved me back there.” You say, slowly getting yourself up. He reaches out to place a hand under your elbow, helping to steady you once you’re on your feet. Your hand falls to his bicep, and you bring your other hand to rest on his chest. “Damn, you’re built like a tree. Is that a Winchester thing?”
Sam bursts into laughter, his adorable dimples bracketing the most gorgeous smile you think you’ve ever seen. His cheeks and ears are turning red again. “Aw, is Samuel blushing?” You tease.
This was the start of your crush. Except you couldn’t even call it a crush, you were instantly head over heels in love with the taller Winchester. It hit you like a hurricane. So sweet, attentive, selfless, and that’s not even mentioning his smoking hot body. Silky chestnut hair, deep hazel eyes full of emotion. But instead of giving in to the temptation and telling him how you feel, you left just two days later. You couldn’t bear the thought of being rejected by him, or of being so close to him but so distant at the same time. So you asked Dean to drive you while Sam was out on a run, not wanting to have to say goodbye to him. Dean took you back to your motel and your belongings, leaving you with nothing more than a “call if you need anything” and his number. You’ve kept in contact with Dean, mostly sending memes and jokes to each other, and doing your best to not ask about his brother. Turns out Dean has a knack for dad jokes, sending you at least one a day, more if he thought you were having a bad day. You’d consider him your best friend, even though he’s really the only person you talk to anymore besides Bobby on occasion. Dean has come a long way from his skepticism when you burst into their lives, considering you like the sister he never had.
Now, four months later, you have run into the brothers again. You’re in a small town in Missouri hunting some vampires, when you spot the Winchesters walking into a diner.
“Hey, tall and taller, got room at your table for one more?” You call out.
The brothers turn around, confused. Dean’s eyes lock onto you first, and he opens his arms for a hug. “Hey, loser, what are you doing here?” He asks.
You jog a few steps, falling into his arms for a few seconds. “Hunting some suckers. Guessing you’re here for the same?”
“Actually yeah, wanna save little Sammy’s ass again like last time?” Dean jokes, his eyes lit up in mirth.
Sam shakes his head, lips pressed together, rolling his eyes. “That was one time, it won’t happen again. And since when are you guys close? You disappeared months ago, Y/N. We haven’t heard from you.”
“Yeah, sorry, I, uh, got called away for something,” you lie, hoping Sam won’t notice and Dean won’t call you out. “Dean and I have kept in touch though.” You playfully hit Dean on the shoulder.
Sam tries not to feel hurt that you have talked to his brother all this time but not him. And you’ve clearly talked enough to get close, Dean doesn’t hug just anyone.
“Well, come on,” Dean says, throwing an arm around your shoulders, “I’m starved.”
You all make your way inside, sitting at a booth. The boys sit on opposite sides, and you debate who to sit next to for a moment too long, then you slide in next to Dean. Sam notices your hesitation, but buries his face in the menu.
You all order and eat your meal, sharing stories about all the hunts you’ve had in the last few months.
“No wonder we’ve had it easier recently, Dean. You didn’t tell me Y/N was taking care of so much,” Sam says.
“Didn’t think it mattered,” Dean says, mouth full of pie. “Asshats got ganked, people got saved.”
“Yeah but we could have helped out more.”
“I was fine, Sam. I like keeping busy, remember?” You say, then turn to Dean, “Speaking of, do you know yet where we’re looking here?”
Sam speaks up before Dean can, “actually yeah. We’ve narrowed it down to two warehouses on the outskirts. We’re planning to go check them out after we get a room.”
“Perfect,” you state, looking at Sam. “You boys wanna ride together from the motel since we’re all going to the same place?”
“Sounds good,” Dean says.
You all get up and leave, piling into your cars and going down the street to a motel. The boys get a double room to share like always, you get a neighboring single. You go into your respective rooms to gear up for the hunt.
“What the hell, dude?” Sam says as soon as the door is closed behind Dean.
“What?”
“Y/N is who you’ve been texting all the time? Why didn’t you tell me?” Sam asks, clearly hurt.
Dean looks at Sam for a moment before understanding crosses his face. “Oh, you’ve got it bad, huh? Here, you want her number?” He pulls out his phone to pull up her contact and passes it to Sam.
“No, that’s- well, yes, but-“ Sam stumbles over his words.
“Look, it’s not like that with us, Sammy. We’re friends. That’s it.”
“Oh.” Sam lets that sink in and runs his hands through his hair.
“Yeah. So relax, she’s all yours. At least, she hasn’t mentioned being with anyone. I’d doubt she had time for it with the constant hunts she’s had. She’s worse than either of us have ever been with needing to keep moving.”
“Yeah, I noticed,” Sam says, saving her number in his phone and giving Dean’s back to him.
“Well?” Dean asks.
“What?”
“Text her. Say it’s in case we get split up or something. Make up an excuse. Give her your number or I will.” Dean insists.
“Okay, okay, get off my back about it then, yeah?” Sam says. Dean throws his hands up in surrender, turning away to rummage through his duffel.
[Sam 5:55PM : Hey, it’s Sam. Dean gave me your number. Wanted you to have mine just in case]
A full minute passes, and Sam wonders if she will even respond. Then his phone dings with a notification.
[Y/N 5:56PM : Got it. Good thinking. You boys ready?]
[Sam 5:56PM : Yup, meet you at the Impala?]
[Y/N 5:57PM : Sure thing, Sammy Boy ;)]
Well, Sam thinks, I guess the winky face is a good sign? Maybe she does like me?
“You ready, Dean?” Sam asks, heading for the door.
“Let’s do this,” Dean says, grabbing Baby’s keys.
*
Half an hour later, you’re all sitting in the Impala outside the second warehouse. The first was empty except for rats and dust, no signs of bloodsuckers ever having been there.
“Safe to assume this is it then, huh?” You ask, leaning forward between the boys and looking out the windshield.
“Yeah. We all ready?” Sam asks.
You and Dean respond “yeah.” You all get out of the car, grabbing your machetes and forming a plan. There are three entrances to the building, you will all split up and take one. You’ll meet in the middle, and then go to the upper floors together. You nod at each of the brothers, and you all go your separate ways to enter.
The front door creaks open, and you slowly make your way inside. The day’s last light is filtering in through the windows. You have a flashlight in your back pocket but you’re trying to draw as little attention as possible. You make your way down the hallway, which opens into a large center room. As you come through the doorway, you hear grunts and sounds of fighting from the hallway to your right. That’s the door Sam came in, you think and your heart drops into your stomach when the noises stop but Sam doesn’t emerge. You start toward that hallway, and you’re met with five vamps carrying Sam’s unconscious body. They notice you, drop him, and advance on you before you can move any further.
“Dean!” You yell, starting to fight them off. You can’t keep track of where they all are, you just know that they are surrounding you and landing more hits than you are. Your back, arms, sides, and stomach are all taking hits and you struggle to get the upper hand. You manage to block a few hits and decapitate two of the vamps in quick succession, as you hear Dean’s footsteps thundering closer. That’s when you notice a large vampire standing over Sam.
You fight even harder now, desperate to help the brothers and save Sam. You manage to shove one against a metal pole before cutting its head off in one swing. You kick one in the abdomen, surprising it and knocking it over. You drop to your knees, straddling the vampire’s chest, and swing your machete down on its neck. An arm from the other vamp you’re fighting snakes around your neck, choking you and pulling up into the air. With your body weightless and hanging in the air, you swing an elbow into its sternum and a heel into its knee. It lets go long enough for you to drop, turning as you go to swing out and cut its head off.
With these five dead, you can turn to help the Winchesters. As you run over, the vamp throws Dean a few feet, with Dean landing on his back and sliding across the floor. Jesus, you think, he looks even taller than Sam. You run and launch yourself at the vamp, knocking it back a few steps but not knocking it down. Glancing around the vamp, you can see Sam starting to come back around to consciousness. The vamp manages to grab you by your throat, lifting you into the air. You try slashing into its arm with your machete, but the grip it has on your throat doesn’t let up and you’re starting to see spots.
“Dean,” you manage to rasp out, your machete falling from your hand as you grow weaker,” get Sam and get out of here.”
Suddenly the vamp’s hand goes slack, its head rolling down and onto the floor. You fall to the floor, gasping and coughing for air, your hand on your neck. Sam is standing over the dead vamp, machete in hand.
“You okay, Y/N?” Dean comes up behind you.
You nod, still coughing.
“Sam?” Dean asks.
“I’ll be fine, it was just a good hit on the head.” He kneels in front of you. “You sure you’re okay?”
You nod again, “Guess we’re even now, huh, Sammy Boy?”
The boys help you up and out to the car. You all ride back to the motel in silence. Dean is first out of the car and heading toward the rooms, leaving you and Sam behind in the Impala.
“You’ve got some blood on the back of your head,” you say.
Sam’s hand goes to the back of his head, coming back red. “Oh. Huh.”
Another moment passes, then you get out of the car and head to your door. As you’re unlocking it, you realize Sam is standing behind you. You glance over your shoulder at him. “You okay?”
“Would you mind helping me clean it? The blood on my head, I mean. I’m sure you’ll be more gentle than Dean would.”
“Sure, Sam. Come on in.” You open the door and head in. He follows and closes and locks the door behind him, checking the salt lines.
“Have a seat wherever, I’ll grab some supplies,” you say, heading into the bathroom for some warm water and a washcloth.
When you re-enter the bedroom, Sam is sitting on the edge of your bed, looking out of place. You crawl onto the bed behind him on your knees and start cleaning the blood from his hair as gently as you can.
“So, um,” Sam starts, “why did you stay in touch with Dean?”
“Oh, um, I don’t know. I just texted him one day and we hit it off. He’s pretty funny.”
Sam’s hums in response. You furrow your brow, “should I not have?"
"No, it's fine, I mean-," Sam stutters, "I just- um, maybe we can keep in touch this time?"
You’re taken aback, and you’re glad you're still behind Sam because you’re opening and closing your mouth like a fish for a moment. “Uh, yeah, Sam. I’d like that.”
“Can I, uh, ask you a question?”
“Of course, Sam.”
“Did I do something to upset you last time? At the bunker?” When you don’t immediately answer, he continues, “Because I thought we were getting along and hitting it off and then I came back one morning and you were just gone.”
“No, Sam,” you say, putting a hand on his shoulder and moving around so you’re in front of him. “You did nothing wrong. I got called away for something.”
“Okay,” he say, but he looks like he doesn’t believe you. Really, he looks like a kicked puppy and you can’t stand it. Fuck it, you think, I can’t have him thinking he did something wrong and looking at me like this. “Okay, I wasn’t called away. I, um,” you sigh. “Ilikeyouanditscaresme,” you rush out, avoiding eye contact.
A moment passes where nothing is said. You’re still looking away and you bring your thumb to your mouth to chew on the nail. He brings one hand up to pull your hand away from your face, and his other hand rests on your cheek. “Look at me, Y/N.”
You follow his command, meeting those hazel eyes, your heart feeling like it’s going to beat out of your chest. “I like you too,” he says, voice barely above a whisper.
You put your hand on top of his on your cheek. “Really?”
He nods, smiling and giving you a glimpse at those adorable dimples. He brings his other hand to your cheek, his large hands now framing your face, and he’s looking into your eyes for permission. You nod, and then his lips are on yours. You feel like your brain has short-circuited, and it takes a moment for your lips to move to match his. His tongue licks your lower lip, again asking for permission, and you gladly open up to let him inside. Wow, you think, this is earthshattering.
You both pull away, keeping your foreheads together.
“You’ll have to teach me how to do this,” you say.
He opens his eyes, confused.
“This ‘feelings’ thing,” you explain, “I’ve never really done this before.”
“Don’t worry, Y/N. I’ll always have your back.”

Weekend at Bobby's aka How Bobby Got His Soul Back is such a pinnacle episode for both S6's plot and characters.
It is one of the rare episodes that doesn't revolve around Sam and Dean. Part of this is because it was the first episode Jensen directed & less screentime helps.
Characters
Many characters are brought front and center this episode.
Jody is brought back and is shown to already be an ally to Bobby and the Winchesters. She tried to help with the FBI agent and also risks her career to save Rufus from jail. Her and their loyalty will just grow stronger as the show goes on.
Tumblr media
Rufus is also brought back here and we get to see Bobby with his oldest friend. Their chemistry is unmatched and they should have had more episodes!
Tumblr media
Garth is mentioned for the first time.
And of course Crowley. We learn about his past, his name, son, where he's from, as well as that he has been promoted as the King of Hell.
Sam and Dean get their asses handed to them by Bobby because he is right. Sam and Dean can be selfish, I would argue that that is a small theme of the season that leads to the ultimate conflict with Cas at the end.
Tumblr media
But mainly we get to see Bobby in his every day element. How many other hunters he helps, always answering the phone, staying up late into the night to help, even breaking into the library. I love this character deep dive of him we get.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Foreshadowing
- Burning of bones. We learn that you can burn a demon's bones. Later used as the reason why Bobby & Sam suspect Cas of betrayal.
- Crowley becoming King of Hell, making him a big bad for further in the season/series
- When Bobby is yelling at Sam and Dean about their selfishness, he mentions how he does everything for them. He is always there to help them when they need it. This same sentiment and words will come out of Cas' mouth later that season when he talks to Dean.
- Did I mention Garth?
Tumblr media
Comedy
The amount of dry and dirty jokes in this episode is high. Crowley is just dripping with semi dirty jokes, from the I hope this is paint, to the reason he sells his soul, he is at peak evil villainy. I love it.
WAB offers so much as an episode and it deserves to be in the top episodes of the season.
Camerawork is used to create visual gags, there is even physical comedy with Bobby going through the window.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sam and Dean are brought into the plot and only really shown through phone calls.
Overall, the style of this episode is different than others and makes it standout.

Destiel Fic Recs Part 1
(人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
So this is a little bit different to what I usually post (if you know me I post mostly Sterek content) but I have to remember this account is also all about that Destiel content too!
The Unbroken by casblackfeathers
126K Words // Chapters: 28/28 // 24K Hits // COMPLETED
//EXPLICIT//
Dean’s life had been made of running. He ran from a curse that had desolated his life ever since he was a child — whenever he got hurt, he turned into a goddamn human-torch, killing everyone around him — and he ran from himself and his own self-loathing. But managing all that at the end of a world full of Croats lurking around every corner was easier said than done. Until a mysterious man with tousled dark hair paired with blue eyes as clear as the sky during a hot summer’s day stopped him from free falling, literally. In one fell swoop, the stranger had not only saved his life but also calmed the wildfire threatening to burn everything in its wake. There was something about Castiel that made Dean want to stop running but also hid something darker — something Dean couldn’t quite put his finger on. And between soft, pillowy lips and feather-like fingerprints, Cas could very well shatter Dean’s world and maybe help save the whole world in return.
2. Empty Spaces by thisisapaige
48K Words // Chapters: 20/20 // 5K Hits // COMPLETED
//MATURE//
[Castiel] found the colour. It was a green, one of the few gentle colours at the edges of his dreams and the one he tried to capture in his paintings, never quite finding the right hue. He spent so long chasing the colours, trying to find it though pills and needles, but they always evaded his grasp. Yet he found one, right here, hiding in the eyes of a stranger. He studied the colour, the subtle differences between dark and light, the little flecks of gold nearly hidden in the sea of green, the ring around the outside. He studied it, trying to commit the colour to memory. The other man cleared his throat. “Uh, dude?” Oh. Castiel forgot the colour was attached to a person. ~~~ What if Castiel had fallen before the start of the series and met Dean on a routine hunt? Set in the spring before Dean goes to find Sam in Stanford. Intended as a three part series.

Summary: This story is from the perspective of Y/n Winchester. The sister Of Sam and Dean. I will be skipping some episodes even though they are great episodes they do not push the story forward. I am so excited to get to write this since there are not many Castiel X reader stories out there. Okay without further due Love War & Grace enjoy the Story.

Cas’s POV
Orders, obedience, and being a faithful soldier never mattered to me to go against until I met the Winchesters until I met her in particular. My orders to save Dean Winchester I did without thinking twice I did everything asked of me. My whole existence had never been that important until my garrison got the order to save the Winchester from Hell. But before I saved him I saved his sister.
About two months before we got the order I heard one of the biggest cries of help I've ever felt from a human. Angels aren't supposed to answer prayers. That was God’s job but no Angel had seen him in so long all we had was orders from some higher power that I had never seen. So I did something I never thought I would, I answered her prayer. I flew down and I didn’t have a vessel but I did have a presence.
“I don’t know what I’m doing out here I- I'm just so tired so whatever is out there I'm begging you.” She was sobbing on her knees now. “Bring him back! Bring him Back!” I didn’t know what to do. I had never seen human emotions like this before. So I did the only thing I could do.
I lifted my wing and put it on her shoulder as I did something happened, I felt her pain, happiness, and joy. I have never felt really before. It was an overwhelming experience but wonderful at the same time. She began to stop and looked around for what had helped her but couldn't see me so she got up and whispered “Thank you.” That was the first time Y/n Winchester made me feel something but it wouldn't be the last.
Y/N’s POV
After we arrived back at Bobby’s I went straight to sleep pretty sure I had a concussion but I didn't have time to worry about that. We had to find Sam. I woke up to the sounds of Bobby and Dean talking well more like arguing. “Yeah, I heard you. I'm not calling him.” That’s when I walked into the conversation. “What do you mean Dean of course we are calling him.” Dean ignored my sentence. “How’s the head kid.” “I'll live now why won’t you call Sam!?” “We are damn near kickoff for Armageddon, don't you think we got bigger fish at the moment?” “Really! Our brother is not important right now. Dean this is when he needs us now more than ever!” “I know you're pissed. And I'm not making apologies for what he's done, but he's your–” Bobby added in. “Blood? He's my blood, is that what you were gonna say?” Dean snapped back.
“He's your brother. And he's drowning.” “Thank you, Bobby!” “Bobby, we tried to help him, we did. Look what happened.” “So we try again Damnit!” “It's too late.” I scoffed at him. “There's no such thing.” Bobby is trying so hard to convince him because my words aren't doing much. “No, damnit! No. I gotta face the facts. Sam never wanted part of this family. He hated this life growing up. Ran away to Stanford first chance he got. Now it's like déjà vu all over again. Well, I am sick and tired of chasing him. Screw him, he can do what he wants.” “How could you say that Dean! Just because he wanted his own life he’s what, no longer our brother!?” “You don't mean that.” “Yes I do, Bobby. Sam's gone. He's gone. I'm not even sure if he's still my brother anymore. If he ever was.” I gasped and started to tear up.
Bobby looked pissed off to all seven layers of Hell. Knocking things over. Getting in Dean’s face. “You stupid, stupid son of a bitch! Well, boo hoo, I am so sorry your feelings are hurt, princess! Are you under the impression that family's supposed to make you feel good?! Bake you an apple pie, maybe? They're supposed to make you miserable! That's why they're family!” “I told him, "You walk out that door, don't come back" and he walked out anyway! That was his choice!” “You sound like a whiny brat. No, you sound like your dad. Well, let me tell you something. Your dad was a coward.”
I had never heard Bobby talk about Dad like that. It felt good. “My dad was a lot of things, Bobby, but a coward?” “He'd rather push Sam away than reach out to him. And blame N/n for your Mom’s passing. Well, that don't strike me as brave. You are a better man than your daddy ever was. So you do both of us a favor. Don't be him.” “Dean he’s right you have always been better than Dad.” Dean was facing the window he turned back to respond and I blinked and when I opened my eyes again I was in a room that I'd never been in before.
“What… the… fuck maybe I should have gotten my head checked out.” The room was traced out in gold and famous art hung on the walls. It looked like a room that would cost a thousand dollars just to get in. “This is real Y/n and you do have a small concussion. “Of fucking course.” It was Zachariah.
Tumblr media
“So what is all this and where the Hell is Dean.” I gestured around the room, and then I noticed in the middle of the table were all my favorite snacks and drinks. “This Y/n is a waiting room and to answer your second question that you asked so nicely he’s in the other one.” “What am I waiting for?” “Well, it’s really to hold you from stopping your brothers.” He saw my confused face. “You know that face is almost cute, if we let you go you would try to stop Sam and we can’t have that.” “Why!?” “Because it is Dean’s destiny, not your’s. Your’s is to support from the sidelines because sweetheart you were born for the sidelines.” I never wanted a knife in my hands more. He picks up a drink and sips it in satisfaction. “Oh, I heard about your little spat with Castiel so Sad.” I didn't even have a comeback. “I'll come get you when everything is said and done… maybe.” He disappeared with his stupid smirk. I sat down thinking how the Hell I would get out of this one.
I pick up my phone and give Sam a call and of course no answer. At least I can leave a message “Sam I know you feel guilty about hurting us. But the thing is I already forgive you because I know you. You my big brother who has always been there for me, you taught me that it was okay to want something more than this life that we got sucked into because of Dad. I don’t think I ever told you but uh I was so proud of you for Stanford I am still. So please whatever happens know I lo-”
The message got cut off. I threw the phone and as I did it passed Cas. “I heard you got hurt.” “Oh so suddenly the distraction can get medical help.” “Y/n please.” “No, you know what Cas I have never seen you as a way to get things. I have always chosen this friendship over that! I don’t know what got in you but right now that doesn't matter I need you to bring me to Sam.”
“Have you forgotten what happened the last time you met?” “No. That's the whole point. He needs us.” “No.” “What do you mean, no? Are you saying that I'm trapped here?” “You can go wherever you want.” “Great, then I want to see Sam.” “Except there.” “Of course. Whatever screw you, I'm out of here.” I walk towards the door. “Through what door?” I look again and the doors and Cas are gone.
I pick up a mini-statue and start to hit the wall one way or another I was going to get out of here. I hit the wall so hard that dust flew in my eyes I went to rub them and when I went back the wall looked brand new. “Really! Fuck!” I threw the statue down and it smashed in pieces. “You and your brother could be twins with how you're like monkeys.”It was Zachariah. “Let me go.” “Like I said we can't have you stop Sam that is Dean’s job.” “I think that’s bullshit because why does it matter who stops him as long we stop… you don’t want it to stop do you?” “You're smarter than I thought and nope. Never did. The end is nigh. The apocalypse is coming, kiddo, to a theater near you.” He’s so smug in his words.
“And the seals?” “Our grunts on the ground -- we couldn't just tell them the whole truth. We'd have a full-scale rebellion on our hands. I mean, think about it. Would we really let 65 seals get broken unless senior management wanted it that way?” “And Cas is one of those grunts.” He laughs at my words. “You know this little friendship between the two of you was cute in the beginning but now it’s just annoying. Of course, he is, sweetheart I mean that’s all he was ever and all he is going to be.” “Why the apocalypse?” “Why not? The apocalypse? Poor name, bad marketing -- puts people off. When all it is is Ali/Foreman. On a... slightly larger scale. And we like our chances. When our side wins -- and we will -- it's paradise on earth. Now, what's not to like about that?” “What about all people in your pissing match.”
“Well... you can't make an omelet without cracking a few eggs. In this case... truckloads of eggs, but you get the picture. Look... it happens. This isn't the first planetary enema we've delivered.” He sits down on the couch like it was a throne. “ “What about Sam? He won't go quietly. He'll stop Lilith.” “Sam... has a part to play. A very important part. He may need a little nudging in the right direction, but I'll make sure he plays it.” “What the hell does that mean?” “Don’t worry as I said that it is for Dean.” “Tell me something. Where's God in all this?” “God? God has left the building.” That left chills down my spine.
I tried to call Sam and Dean but of course, all I got was busy signals. It was like being a kid again being kept on the sidelines while my brothers and Dad hunted. I hated it then and now I despise it. I hear those damn wings flutter. “You won't be able to reach them Y/n.” “What are you going to do to Sam?” I asked him not daring to look up, already knowing the answer. “Nothing. He's gonna do it to himself.” “And what does that even mean Cas?” I finally looked at him. “Right I mean I’m just a distraction so why tell me anything.” I chuckled dryly. “I don't even know why you're here?”
“You are a not distraction!” “Really! What changed your Damn mind!?” “I thought about everything we’ve been together and you never used me for my powers I just didn't want it to end like this.” “What? Me mad at you because you hurt me. When you call someone a distraction you don’t just say sorry and everything is dandy Cas.” “I mean what does our friendship mean to you cause I'll tell you what you mean to me!” At this point, my emotions were in charge of everything.
“Cas you saved me, without you, I probably would have made a deal with the devil himself to get Dean back! You have been the one light that has not burned out on me. You're my best friend. I would take all the pain in the world for another second of banter from my brothers. Another Idjit from Bobby. Another minute of you being happy is what our friendship means to me, what about you?” I ended with tears rolling down my face. He didn't answer. “You know what my brother is about to die because of a destiny put together way before we were ever even a thought of our brothers I would like to spend my last hour thinking about my family instead with a spineless coward so go.” “Y/n-” “GO!” He flies and I fall to my knees crying out soul.
Tumblr media
I didn't even know what to think or to feel. I am a whole mess of emotions. I was never going to see my brothers or Bobby again and … Cas. Damnit before I would say goodbye to any jackass who would be like this to me but Cas has somehow avoided my complete wrath and that only means one thing. But I didn't get much time to dwell on it until he showed up again. “Cas I told you-” Then he completely shocks me and shoves me up against the wall covering my mouth.
He takes out a knife and wow that is the last time I tell someone how their friendship means to me. Then he cuts himself. Zachariah flashes in “Castiel! Would you mind explaining just what the hell you're doing?” Cas makes a sigil and Zach flashes out. “Cas what is going On!?” “He won't be gone long. We have to find Sam now.” “Where is he?” “I don't know. But I know who does. We have to stop him, Y/n, from killing Lilith.” ‘But Lilith's gonna break the final seal.” “Lilith is the final seal. She dies, the end begins.”
Tumblr media
We grabbed Dean and we popped into Chuck’s house. Unfortunately, we popped in when he was ordering some type of service that included women's company. He sees us and is flabbergasted and disappointed. “Wait. T-t-this isn't supposed to happen.” The poor woman on the other end spoke. “No, lady, this is definitely supposed to happen, but I just got to call you back.” “St. Mary's? What is that, a convent?” Dean asked. “Yeah, but you guys aren't supposed to be there. You're not in this story. Especially you Y/n.” “As I keep being told.” I sarcastically say with an annoyed smile on my face.
“Yeah, well… We're making it up as we go.” Cas said looking at me and I gave him a small smile in return. At that moment the walls started to shake and bright light was invading the windows. “Aw, man! Not again! No!” Chuck yelled out. Cas turned to me. “I'll hold him off! I'll hold them all off! Just stop Sam!” “WHAT NO I'M NOT LEAVING YOU CAS!” I screamed at him. “You were right from before, you are my best friend and because of you I can freely feel. Thank you, Y/n Winchester” He grabs my shoulder and Dean’s. “Cas No NO-” We drop into the convent.
Tumblr media
“Don’t worry Y/n I'm sure he's okay he's an angel he's Cas.” Cas you stupid son of a bitch for making me… “Ok let's go get our dumbass brother.” We run down the hall and what we see is not good. Ruby Sees us and slams the door with her mind. I knew that bitch wasn't really turned good. We ran over. “SAM! SAM!” We pounded on the door. “Dean wait wait ok 1…2…3!” We kicked the door open. “You're too late.” She said so smugly. “I dont care.” Sam held her. I grabbed the demon's knife and stabbed her.
“I.told.you” She dropped to the floor dead. In the middle of the ground next to dead Lillith a bright white light shot up and everything started to shake. Sam looks at both of us with a shamed look. “Guys I’m sorry.” Dean grabs our shoulders. “Guy’s let's go!” We run to the door and it closes in front of us. “Guys... he's coming.” This was it. The end times the devil and of course, we were right smack in the middle of but we are Winchesters we could do anything.
Tumblr media

"I am sorry, Dean."
The whispered words make the man laying comfortably between his legs, arms wrapped around his waist, look up from where his head was resting on his stomach. Dean gives him a confused expression, that doesn't erase completely the clear contentment and satisfaction in his eyes. Castiel almost feels guiddy about the fact he was the one that made Dean feel all those things, all that wild joy, all that untamed pleasure.
Almost.
Because the guilt he has been carrying within him these days is growing too big to ignore.
"What 're you talking 'bout?" Dean asks, sleepily, head flopping down once more, he nuzzles even closer to Castiel.
Castiel keeps his hands busy, his fingers combing Dean's short hair, as his mind tries to rearrange its thoughts and words into something that will make sense to the other man.
"It's just " he starts "that I would have loved to leave something behind for you, but I didn't," Dean doesn't say anything, and Castiel is grimacing at his poor attempt at communicating his inner turmoil, but then Dean goes tense and his once relaxed and open hands close around the sheets covering them. He doesn't like to call about those days, neither does Castiel, the quiet days, as he had called them once.
A phone that never rang, Cas, as much as I stared at it, not a knock on the door, there was this silence, I didn't feel like talking either, they were just so quiet, those days.
But Castiel needs to talk about it, make it better somehow.
"I thought about leaving a letter behind, some kind of explanation, because I owned you one, and at least I could give you that, albeit rushed," he continues, " I didn't know what to say, no words were going to give you comfort, I didn't really have any material things to left for you to keep," the tape Dean gave him, Castiel thinks to himself, was something he was determined to take with him once it was time to go, and he did, "I avoided it until it happened, never able to leave something I wanted you to have, to remind you you were in my mind, what you meant to me."
He wasn't avoiding the topic, he knew well his time was going to come sooner or later, he was even at peace with it, he was going to hurt others but, if he thought of the grand scheme of things, that was never as heavy as the idea of being able to save them all if he had the chance if he weighed them on his heart's scale.
They would be better off without him, he had long convinced himself of that by then.
It was more the impossibility of seeing himself reaching that kind of happiness, that bright joy that could blind him for a moment and make him forget about everything else, the pain and struggle, the sadness. He knew well he was never going to have what he was sure could meant all that for him. He couldn't imagine the moment it would happen either, if he would be able to say goodbye or not.
He never found the words or the gesture that could give Dean peace, because he was sure he was going to mess it all up, make it all more complicated. He never found the words that could have been enough to express how big, how bright, how strong and freeing all he feels for Dean is. He has never been one for poetry and pleasantries.
"But you did." Dean says after a while, he moves away from Cas, maneuvering until he is sitting down too, facing Castiel, the back of his knees resting on Castiel's thighs.
He reaches out for him and one of his hands finds the back of Castiel's neck, squeezing firmly, the other splayed on his chest, his fingertips drumming against his collarbone.
"You don't have to apologize," but Castiel still feels he had to, and both of them know he isn't going to back down on that, "you said all those" he pauses, clearing his throat, "all those things about me, about us, all those amazing things, and you left them with me, for me to keep them safe." Only his to hear, only his to have, only his to replay as many times as he needed them. No one could have taken them for him. "You gave me a chance to see another day." He gave Dean a love like he could have never imagine could be real.
He moves his hand away from Castiel's chest and holds onto Castiel's hand, interlacing their fingers, pressing Castiel's knuckles to his cheek,
"You came back to me."
Castiel wraps his arm around his shoulders and pulls him closer to himself in a tight embrace, dipping his head down to press lingering kisses on every inch of warm, freckled, skin he can reach.

Part 20 <- -> Part 22
Tumblr media
Dean knocked on your door, “Y/N, it’s me, can I come in please?”
“What do you want?” you said sullenly.
“To apologise. And I have a peace offering.”
You didn’t say anything.
“Please can I come in?” he asked again.
“Ok,” you said quietly. Dean opened your bedroom door and stepped inside but did not approach you. He was holding a block of chocolate that he put on the floor near you, then stood up to speak.
“I wanted to apologise for grabbing you and picking you up today, I know you don’t like me touching you. But Sam was stuck behind the lady with the trolley and couldn’t get to you. I wasn’t going to carry you because I know you didn’t like when I did that before, but then I thought you were going to faint and then people would demand we take you to hospital, but I figured if you were already in my arms if you passed out then I could cover it up and get you to Cas if needed. So I’m sorry I did all of that without your consent.”
That wasn't what you were expecting. You hadn’t even really thought about the fact that he’d carried you out; you’d just been so embarrassed about the whole thing and depressed about how you couldn’t fit clothes, couldn’t handle people, couldn’t even go to a shop and buy bloody pants without freaking out and needing rescuing.
“If you hadn’t, I’d probably still be on the ground now,” you said sadly, “or shipped off to some mental institution because I can’t even handle simple shopping and they’d all think I was insane if I told them it was because a witch had kept me captive.”
Dean looked like he wanted to reach out to you, but stopped himself. “Just because today didn’t go well doesn’t mean that you won’t ever be able to do it,” he said gently. He seemed a little uncomfortable, like he didn’t talk like this normally. It was quite different to his usual macho persona. “It’s just too early, you’re still processing. I dunno, Sam’s better at this shit than I am, but I do know that just because I fuck up killing one vampire doesn’t mean I won’t learn from that and gank the next one.”
You laughed at his analogy. He never talked about killing monsters to you when you still had the collar on.
“Do you want to come out and watch TV with Sam and I?”
“Umm...”
“We have snacks! I’ll even let you pick what to watch and I won’t complain about it once. You can ask Sam, that is not something I offer willy-nilly.”
You laughed again and slowly nodded. He looked pleased.
---
“Were you bullshitting earlier or could demons or witches or whatever be after me?” You'd been so caught up in your panic attack you'd forgotten about this earlier, but sitting on your cushion on the floor watching a movie, you'd suddenly remembered.
“Well, we hadn't really been intending to tell you like that,” Sam said with a glare at Dean, “But it's true. We're just trying to work it out.”
“Bullshit,” you said, temper flaring again. “You never intended to tell me at all!”
“Y/N-“ Sam tried.
“No, you two would much prefer to treat me like a child. Tell me to go to bed, hide things from me, the list goes on!”
“We’re not trying to treat you like a child-”
“Oh really? The streaming service said parental controls are in operation!”
“We were trying to protect you when you had the collar on, you were understandably scared of everything. I just forgot to take them off.”
“No, you just hoped I wouldn't notice!” You stood up and stormed out of the room, marching down to your room. You weren't even sure you believed what you were saying, but you just felt so damn angry!
---
“She is a fucking yo-yo,” Dean muttered to Sam when you'd stormed off. “One second she's sweet, then she's sad, then she's screaming blue murder again.”
“Trauma. Plus, it’s probably like when they say people go through stages of grief. I'm pretty sure anger is in there.”
“Any idea how long this is going to last?”
“How long is a piece of string?”
Dean sighed.
---
You paced your room. Those bloody brothers, always treating you like a child. Bossing you around, literally telling you to go to bed like you were 7. Controlling what you ate, what you watched, when you left the bunker – which was practically never.
Dimly, you were aware that you were conflating their behaviour when you had the collar on with how they acted now that it was off. No one had told you to go to bed since the collar had been removed, although you’d barely been out of your room for them to talk to you. But it was hard to separate in your memories when you had the collar and when you didn’t; it was easier to just remember other people’s behaviour and clump everything together.
And they should have known! They knew you were a person! They knew you were an adult! What right did they have to act like that even with the collar?! The collar didn’t change anything about you! It’s just their bullshit behaviour that’s the problem here.
And IF you might have responded differently with the collar on, well they could just deal. The problem is them, is how they’ve always treated you. You weren’t looking for them to boss you around! And…! And…
Your anger started to get derailed as you struggled to continue buying your own logic. Nothing you were thinking made any sense, even to your addled and confused brain. Your lack of clarity of thought was making you even more confused and worked up.
But through it all, the anger remained. The ever-present, red-hot anger.
Screw the Winchesters. It didn’t matter what logic you did or didn’t use, they were still treating you like a child. They were the problem here, not your brain.
Maybe you’d just go watch an R rated movie later. Yeah, that’d show them.
---
Sam had removed the parental controls when you got to the TV, long after they’d both gone to bed. Good.
It took you a while to work out all of the controls, smart TVs were so different to when you’d last been able to browse for yourself. Hell, prior to moving to the bunker, to when you’d last even seen a TV. But you worked it out.
You found the horror category. You’d never been super into horror movies and you paused, wondering if this was a good idea. But then the resentful, angry part of you remembered being treated like a child. Remembered your feelings of inadequacy when you couldn’t even buy something in a shop.
You clicked play.
It was barely 10 minutes in and you were already terrified. You screamed when something jumped out again, and curled your toes when blood gushed out of a character’s wound. You screwed your face up and hid it behind your knees when it looked like they were about to be killed.
You turned the TV off. You felt both relieved and morose, unable to do a normal adult thing again.
You padded back to your room and got into your blankets on the floor. You avoided even looking at the bed, not wanting yet another reminder of how not-normal you were, of all the things you couldn’t bring yourself to do.
You closed your eyes.
Your brain replayed the worst bits of the horror movie to you. You tried to crumple up the sketch sheet in your mind’s eye, force it to show you something else, but it didn’t work. You tried to think about other things but that backfired: suddenly instead of being worried about some fictional character being tortured, you were remembering literally being tortured.
Azaneth. His knife. His orders. Making you cry and scream and beg him to stop, then laughing in your face. You tried to stop your mind dwelling on it, but every time you forced yourself away, somehow your thoughts came back to him again.
You were sweating, starting to freak out.
You felt scared, felt like you were cowering in room 14 again, even though you’d never had blankets or a pillow in that room. The room felt both tiny and giant, like it was going to crush you or like its walls stretched on forever.
Sometimes, for a change of pace, your brain showed you the blood and gore from the movie again. But then it became your blood, circling back around in a horrifying, never-ending chain.
You didn’t know what to do.
Eventually, you couldn’t stand being alone in your room anymore. You needed something to remind you you weren’t alone, to stop you going crazy.
You opened the door and fled to the corridor.
But now what?
You crept along the corridor, worried about the brothers seeing you like this, and yet somehow also wanting to see the brothers, to not feel alone.
You found yourself outside Dean’s room. You could hear him snoring. It was… comforting. You remembered the times he had saved you, like when he grabbed you so the witch couldn’t get her book. You’d felt so much safer in his arms.
Feeling incredibly foolish, you went and grabbed a pillow and blanket from your room.
You curled up outside Dean’s door and fell asleep, listening to the sounds of him sleeping.

There's a lot to love about season 8, but what always gets me is how poetic it is. Dean spends the whole season trying so fucking hard to get Cas to stay with him. He spends a year tearing Purgatory apart trying to find him, insists he's not gonna go back to Earth without him, and when that doesn't pan out, changes his own memory of what happened rather than believe Cas chose not to go with him. Not to mention, a few eps later, he's literally bruised and beaten on his knees in front of Cas, clinging to his hand and begging for Cas to see him, to come back to him because he needs him. And Cas does come back. But he doesn't stay.
Cas, on the other hand, feels so guilty about everything he did to Heaven, and is so very desperate to fix it in any way that's available to him. At the same time, he's being fucked with, forced to cause even more pain to his brethren, well all he really wants to do is heal babies and save sweet adorable angels. The most important thing in Cas' life, the thing he gave up everything for and dedicated his life to is free will, and his is being ripped away from him. It's so incredibly sad, but after he breaks out of it, I think he feels even more responsibility to Heaven. Things are even worse up there than he thought, and with someone like Naomi in charge, both Heaven and Earth could be facing even more pain and destruction if she's given free reign to carry out her machinations. Is it any wonder when the famed Metatron comes in like a lost messiah and says he has a plan to fix it all, that Cas goes along with it? I mean, Metatron knows exactly what to say to manipulate Cas:
They can fix Heaven.
By locking up Heaven the fighting won't spill over onto Earth and affect humans.
Cas doesn't have to lead or make any decisions. He just needs to be a soldier, a warrior.
Anyway, all that culminates in a finale where Cas believes it's his responsibility to fix Heaven, and Dean finally having the realisation that Cas is an angel. He doesn't feel things the way a human does. He has other priorities, and no matter how hard Dean tries, he's not going to be able to force Cas to stay with him. E.T.'s always going to go home.
Only for Cas to have his grace taken for him, be sent back to Earth, and for the first time to truly understand human feelings without the filter of his grace or angelic sensibilities. Wonder if he's going to have any epiphanies about his priorities and what and who he truly wants out of life because of it?

I had a convo with @morallygreyintrovert about an idea of a fic with songs for Sam, Dean and Cas (like in Zoey's Extraordinary playlist for those who know this show). Her post is there if you want to take a look. I told her I had a list of songs somewhere, so there it is, I thought I could share it with the class while I'm at it.
Tumblr media
Sorry Dean, but I would have loved to see that (and there is definitely some singing in SPN). Anyway, here are the songs I thought about:
Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) by Journey (for season 4) Dean could sing this to Cas when he is still bind to Heaven (and goes through repetitive brain washing sessions). Jensen would totally be able to perform this song like in the video and I would pay a big amount of money to see that, and Misha walking like the girl in the clip with his own trench coat, I can totally picture that one in my head.
I feel you by Depeche mode (for season 4-5) Cas would be the one singing this one and it would be about the famous profound bound between them, when Cas starts feeling for the first time, doubting, and being drawn to Dean, to his "precious soul".
Never tear us apart by INXS (for season 4-5 or 8) Cas again would sing this to Dean, the "two worlds collided" in the song could be Heaven and Earth, angels' world and humans' world that could never tear them apart. Despite their differences, Cas loves Dean’s "precious heart".
Couldn’t stop caring by The Spiritual Machines (for season 5) this one is only for Dean, he would sing this one for himself, while he is fighting against the destiny (the “she” in the song), while the Apocalypse is about to happen and the angels are pressuring him to say yes to Michael, insisting he could be the one to stop it because it’s his destiny. And the title, I mean, it's Dean, "the most caring man on Earth" as Cas said it himself (15x18).
The way I feel by 12 Stones (for season 8) That’s just Dean in Purgatory, while searching for Cas. Feeling how much he needs him and how much he hates feeling like this. And the praying part, well you, "I prayed to you, Cas, every night" (8x02).
Next to me by Imagine Dragons (for season 8-9) This one is for Dean not feeling he is worth anything, but despite everything bad he did (not being able to save Cas from Purgatory, kicking him out of the bunker, etc.) and feeling like he let Cas’s down, well Cas stays by his side and Dean doesn’t understand why.
Killed or Be killed by Muse (for season 9) It’s MoC!Dean, it has fear, love, demons and fate in it. It has everything and it’s just perfect.
I wanna be your slave by Måneskin (for season 10) I don’t know if someone thought about that one before, maybe I’m totally wrong but I think it could be Demon!Dean about Cas, because despite being a demon Dean would still not be normal about Cas and without his human filters it could totally go that way. Too bad we didn’t see more of Demon!Dean with Cas, otherwise we would have seen this. You know in the karaoke bar, Cas enters and Dean is on the stage drunk singing this to him. Just imagine.
I won’t say I’m in love from Hercules (for season 13) When Cas comes back from the Empty, Dean would totally sing that and the muses that sing here could be Balthazar, Metatron, Crowley, Charlie, and Sam (maybe they could be even more, like Benny for example could also be here, but there’s only five muses in the movie).
Stole my heart by Tanner Cherry (for season 15) I don’t know why but I can totally picture Cas singing this to Dean in the dungeon instead of that heartbreaking confession, and it’s already funnier to think about it.
Bonus:
I’m so excited by Pointer Sister Dean should sing that to Cas if he can’t use his own words to say what he feels, plus it would be fun to see that. Another big amount of money I would spent just to watch this happen on my screen.
Let’s have intercourse by Crazy ex-girlfriend Dean could sing this one to Cas, and of course, there would also be the dancing part.
I was made for lovin’ you by Kiss I don’t know why but I can totally picture that one too, where Cas sings this to Dean. Same thing, lots of money to see that.
Country boy by Alan Jackson the last one but not the least. Do you know who would sing that to who? Dean to Cas, human or without his wings, and it’s even funnier because those two idiots in love met on September 2008, which happens to be the date of release of this song. So it’s destiny, plus the country thing with cowboys hat and all, this song is obviously about them. Like almost every other songs on the planet since I saw them meet on my screen.
Anyway, I think I rediscovered all my playlists with Destiel ears and that's how you got what's above. Hope you'll like the ideas, or at least the songs. There's FOR SURE more songs that could be there, don't hesitate to share with the class.

My ranking of SPN seasons (based only on their PLOT) pt. 2
In my previous post I'v covered the following:
15: Season 14
14: Season 15
13: season 7
12: season 3
11: season 6
Let's continue!
10. Season 13: this season was a HUGE disappointment to me. The first 6 episodes are brilliant, the writing is excellent, the actors gave their best performances, the scenes were well thought out, the pacing is slow but keeps the audience interested. The plot is intriguing: the heroes are mouring the death of Castiel while trying to both find a way to find their mother and to take care of Jack. In the meantime, the audience comes to understand that there's a new player in town: The Empty. It's mysterious, it seems evil, it seems total. I'm hooked. However, after episode 6 the plot sort of changes, it's like the first 6 episodes were a completely different season. By the end of season 12 we were already introduced to the existence of a parallel world and after episode 6 of season 13 we kind of explore more of it. The plot goes in that direction: the heroes must go to the alternate universe to save their mother. However, frankly, it's all very messy and overly complicated. I'm usually super pro AU, different timelines, same characters but from parallel realities and the like, but this time I was not engaged. I felt quite let down by this season (which also ends in a ridiculous battle that, once again, undermines everything that was said&done in season 5 but OKAY!).
9. Season 12: this season is a bit of a mystery to me. The main plot is: find Lucifer, consequently find Kelly Kleine and ultimately find Lucifer's son. So far so good. I like it. Clear, linear yet stimulating. The subplot is Mary Winchester and the British Men of Letters. Now, while I enjoyed Mary's character I utterly hated the whole BML arc. Just hated it. That Ketch? I hate him. I have no rational reason to explain why but I really hoped he would be killed off by the end of the season but surprise! He'll stick with us until season 15. Not amused. To be fair, the BML is not really a subplot, more of a parallel plot in that it has no correlation whatsover to the main plot. Also, some crazy shit happens in this season like Dean and Sam get caught by a super special police force, are imprisoned for like 3 months or something? unalive themselves, come back to life by making a reckless deal with Billie the reaper, and then go back to normal and no mention of it all is ever made. Well, okay writers' room. All in all, I gotta say that I place this season here in my ranking because it has some amazing episodes and the ending is a bomb. So I gotta give credit where credit's due.
8. Season 1: hear me out, I know that for some this is an iconic season and, honestly, fair enough. But, as any other season 1 of the majority of TV shows, the plot is not exactly exciting? Sure, we get to know our heroes and their backstories, but there are no allies, no other interesting characters, the 2 heroes seem to be living in a vacuum. The plot is simple, clean and intriguing enough to keep you watching, but it doesn't exactly keep you on your toes.
7. Season 10: oh my, oh my. Season 10. WELL. I have to confess that I hated this season with a passion. This is where I was tempted to stop watching Supernatural. I'll tell you why but first, the plot: Sam and Cas try to save Dean from the Mark of Cain. The subplots? Cas trying to bring angels back to Heaven (?), then the whole Castiel/Claire arc, then again Castiel vs Metatron, the mini and insignificant arc centered on Cole... Many, too many for my taste. The effect is that all these subplots are smoke in the eyes to cover for the total absence of creativity to solve the Mark of Cain plot. HOWEVER, however. Since I hated it with a passion, I've decided to watch some episodes again and to read some meta about it. And I gotta say, I was not paying attention. Sure, the plot is what it is and I won't change my mind about it, but ACTUALLY what happens in this season is that the REAL plot is characters' development, specifically Dean's and, to a lesser degree, Cas's. It also makes more sense if you understand that the whole season is about the Dean-Crowley-Cas love triangle. If you get that, you will enjoy the season. I didn't and, as a result, I didn't quite like it. But I gotta be honest and say that the writing for this season was pretty good. Finally, like season 7, this is a connecting season, it prepares us for season 11 where the real prize is. So, in retrospective, I think it deserves ranking number 7 because it didn't give us anything substantial in terms of events but the characters grow a lot after this season so good for them (and for us).

Find the word tag! Thanks @averyauthorship! I haven’t done one of these in a while, but since I am actually working on something, I thought, what the heck! My words were: Grin, Hand, Brown, and Try
All from an untitled fic that I keep working on for some bizarre reason. I’m calling it the “silly fic” in my head. Also calling it the “Yet Another Coffeeshop Au That Won’t Die”. YACATWD. Catchy title, eh?
Grin:
Without even thinking about it, Dean grabbed his keys, locked the shop’s door, ran a hand through his hair and made his way to the corner. He could already smell the scent of coffee in the air, which meant they had just done the evening brew. The particular barista that worked Sunday evenings was always efficient; you could count on him like clockwork. Dean realized he already had a smile on his face as he caught sight of it in the reflection of the door as he opened it. He eagerly looked towards the counter expecting to see tousled dark hair and sky-blue eyes waiting for him. Except…
“Oh.” Dean came up short as the mocking grin of the coffee shop’s other owner greeted him instead. “Hey. Gabe.”
Hand:
“Hello, Dean. I was expecting you.”
Cas raised up the cup in his hand and indicated that Dean should approach the counter. Instead, Dean made a noise that didn’t resemble human speech in the slightest, turned around and quickly headed back outside to take a deep breath. Ouch.
Brown:
“You’re right, of course,” Gabriel continued. “That’s just the me that was up at 3am talking. Boss-man-who-likes-to-sleep-until-7am-me. Cassie gets to do it tomorrow, so we’ll see how that goes. If Benny gets in touch and actually explains himself, I might allow him back. Lord knows I’ll miss his brown butter brownies once reality sets in or my blood sugar drops back to normal. All right, here you go, extra sweet, just like the way you are for my baby bro.”
Try:
Charlie reappeared a moment later, pulling her jacket on and swinging her grey ‘Bag of Holding’ (it literally said that on the side, although Dean was pretty sure Charlie’s wasn’t actually magical) over her shoulder.
“She’s making pierogis! Hey, after you finish you should swing by! I’ll save you some. At least, I’ll try? Or better yet, I’ll take pictures of all the ones I ate and go ‘neeners!’ into your hungry, yet sad, so sad face. It’ll be fun.”
Dean shook his head. “Well, while that does sound like a great time for me and my face, I’ll pass. I got left over barbecue burning a hole in my fridge at home, no worries, Red.”
“Sam hook you up?”
“Sam hooked me up. Gave me the extra potato salad and everything.”
“Sweet. Well, I’m off like a dirty shirt.”
This was fun! I tag @bloodydeanwinchester (tempt us with some faith! Dean fic!) @late-to-the-fandom @practicecourts and @startanewdream (if you’re around, darling) Your words are: Heart, Joy, Laughing and Fingers. 😏

I haven’t talked much, if at all about Cas and Millie’s friendship, and that’s probably because I haven’t thought much on it. I mean, there’s a lot to think about. For one, she knows Cas is in love with Dean by season 7, and after Purgatory is when she realizes Dean is in love with Cas. But of course she doesn’t say anything, because well, it’s Dean, and they’ll figure it out in their own time. (She feels immensely guilty for this after Cas dies end of season 12, (if that’s what ends up happening because that’s a long ways away in my writing process. (I’m totally fine I promise)) but really, anytime Cas dies she wishes she had told the two of them that they weren’t the only ones in love with the other.)
As far as Cas and Millie go, they get along well for the most part, but at first, despite the fact that he pulled her brother out of hell, and saved him, piecing him together again, she doesn’t trust him. She takes longer to trust him than Dean does, it’s not until after the end of season four when he helps Dean escape from the room, and they finally help her to stop Sam from killing Lilith that she finally really like trusts him trusts him, and stops being so cold towards him.
When Cas dies, (end of season 12) Millie takes it about as bad as Dean does, not quite but pretty close, and Sam has to hold it together for both of them, something he barely does. Part of the reason Millie isn’t as bad is the fact that she takes care of Jack. She didn’t go to apocalypse world, she stayed with Mary and Kelly, and instead of following Mary out to save her brothers, she stays with Kelly, with Jack.
When Jack is born and Kelly dies, Millie lays a baby in his crib to go check on her brothers, she gets outside just in time to see Mary fall through the rift with Lucifer, and Cas lying dead on the ground. She just about lost it right then. There was still so much she had to say to her mom. And Dean was never gonna be okay after this.
She stays with Dean as Sam runs inside, she’s still in shock after all, but follows Dean up the stairs as he calls for Sam. After Dean shoots at him, Jack still knocks her out with her brothers, but she has a bond with him. He says something to her though, something comforting. So she feels bonded to Jack, as he does her.
I’ll make another post about Millie and Jack since this one is supposed to be about Cas.
Millie goes to purgatory with Cas and Dean, (one of the few things I’m sure of despite the fact I have like 9 years worth of story to write before I get there and things change but you know. Ideas are endless, so we’ll see what happens.)
Anyway. Millie loves Cas, he’s a third brother to her which is funny considering that both her brothers are actually in love with the angel, Cas only being in love with Dean, and neither brother thinking they are worthy of an angel’s love. Or that Angels are even capable of love sometimes. Despite the fact that literally everything Cas ever does after raising Dean from perdition was for the Winchesters, because he thinks it will better their lives or keep them safe or just flat out save them. “Always happy to bleed for the Winchesters.”
Millie and Cas is a tough relationship for me, like I look at Cas and watch him interact with the winchester brothers, and I honestly don’t know how he would interact with Millie, I’m sure at first, he doesn’t see a point in interacting with her, since she’s not one of the chosen vessels for Michael and Lucifer, even if she could be, but he tolerates her, if only to stay on Sam and Dean’s (mostly Dean’s) good side. When the words “Sam Winchester, the boy with the demon blood” come out of Castiel’s mouth, Dean has to hold Millie back from clocking him, in part because it wouldn’t do anything, but also because he doesn’t trust these “angels” and the fact that she doesn’t seem needed by them, pissing them off probably isn’t going to be a good thing, as they could kill her with a snap of their fingers. Millie sees Castiel as a threat the entirety of season 4, and is still wary of him going into season 5, but as time does on, he grows on her, and she eventually sees him as family by the end of season 5, he’s a brother to her.
When Sam takes Lucifer, Michael, and Adam to hell with him, and Cas comes back, and brings Bobby back, healing Dean’s face after he let Lucifer beat him bloody because he needed Sam to hear him. She lets him go. Millie realized after everything Cas has done over the last two years that maybe, just maybe he is on their side.
Cas is probably the only person she allows to frequently call her Millicent, though he doesn’t always.
When Cas opens purgatory with Crowley, Millie is distraught. Dean may have been out of the life and Sam dead, but Cas still could have talked to her. She could have told him he was being dumb. She stopped trusting him. Even when they got him back and he took on Sam’s hallucinations, she was so mad at him. And then in purgatory, things only got worse, Cas left, Dean prayed to him every night, and she “prayed” to him too, but they were wildly different prayers. She called Cas a coward, and yelled at him. When they finally found him, she stayed angry. Until they reached the portal. Until she realized he wasn’t coming with. Until she realized how much her words actually affected him. When she, Dean, and Benny got topside, she continued to pray to him every night, unsure if he could hear her apologies and remorse.

Hiya if you are still taking them, may I please request a dean winchester x reader? May I request a sorta of alternative ending to Dark Dynasty where the reader is with Charlie and manages to save and get Charlie out because she has the information that can save Dean from the Mark of Cain and instead she gets captured by the Stiens and Dean goes on the warpath to save her. Please and thank you!
I Have to Find Her
Tumblr media
‘Dean? Is that you?’ you said into the phone, still trying to catch your breath as you were trying to prop Charlie’s body against your own, the redhead slipping in and out of consciousness against you.
‘(Y/N)? Where are you, are you both okay? We’re on our way,’ Dean replied, sounding tense, knowing that there was something wrong simply by the fact you were panting down the phone, indicating that you’d had to get out of the motel room fast.
‘I’m okay, but Charlie, she’s injured. Dean, it’s bad and I don’t know what to do,’ you said desperately. ‘They ambushed the room, the Stynes, they were looking for the translation Charlie was working on for the Book of the Damned. They shot her.’
‘What? Is she okay?’
‘At the moment but I don’t think she’s going to be okay for long, she’s fading fast. They didn’t get the book, Charlie sent it to Sam’s email and then destroyed her laptop.’ In the background, you could hear the keys of Sam’s laptop clicking away and Sam’s sound of approval when he saw that he now had the files.
‘Okay, we’re going to be there soon, (Y/N), tell Charlie to hold on,’ Dean said, ‘I love you,’ he said before hanging up.
‘I love you too,’ you said down the now empty phone line before hanging the phone back up and turning all of your attention back to Charlie. ‘Hey come on,’ you said urgently, lightly tapping her face to get her to come back, ‘I need you to stay with me.’
‘You have no clue how long I’ve waited to hear that,’ Charlie said drowsily, making you laugh when you heard that she was still able to make her cheeky comments.
‘Yeah? Well, you stick around for me until we can get you patched up at the bunker and I’ll kiss you,’ you said, laughing through your tears.
‘I’m going to hold you to that,’ Charlie replied, before her eyes fluttered shut. You kept one hand pressed against her neck so you could feel her pulse, knowing that you only needed to panic if you stopped feeling it. You sat in silence on a cold bench, waiting for your boyfriend to show up in his beloved car and take you home, the thought of crawling into bed with him the last thought that was in your mind before everything went black.
---
Dean was out of the car as soon as he stepped on the brakes when he saw Charlie laying still on the floor and you nowhere in sight. He crouched down to lift Charlie off of the cold floor and let out a sign of relief when she stirred in his arms, opening her eyes to look at Dean. ‘They took her,’ she said weakly, trying to hold on so she could tell Dean what had happened to you.
‘(Y/N), who took her?’ he asked, panic lacing his voice at the thought of having no idea where you were.
‘The Stynes. Dean, I’m sorry, I couldn’t do anything,’ she said, her voice trailing off as she lost consciousness again.
‘Hey, it’s not your fault,’ Dean hushed her, knowing that she couldn’t hear him at the moment, ‘you did it Charlie, you didn’t let them get the book.’ He called Sam over and carefully moved Charlie into his arms. ‘Take her to the nearest hospital and then back to the bunker. I’m going to go and find (Y/N).’
‘Dean, you can’t just go, you have no idea where she is,’ Sam protested.
‘Sammy, I’m not going to waste a second while (Y/N)’s with that family, who knows what they’re doing to her,’ Dean exclaimed, sounding more distressed with every word. ‘I’ll call Cas and we’ll find her, you know, he can do those tracking things and he knows (Y/N) so we’ll find her quickly. She needs me Sam and I’m not going to let anything get in the way of me finding her.’

saw your post about sastiel cuddling and sams default spot being the crook of cas's neck ITS REALLY CUTRRTIUGFKJCVFGKLCK hear me out sam is hurt badly on a hunt so cant really sit in the passengers seat so he and cas are awkwardly cuddling in the back of the impala while dean is trying to rush them back to the bunker
As I was falling asleep the scene was playing out.. I had to write it real quick:
One moment, Sam had been gathering the attention of all the vamps, taking the attention off of Dean, next thing everything slowed as he was pushed back, landing hard on his back.
A sharp loud ringing pierced his ears, his head pounding as he tried to keep his eyes open. He saw Dean standing over him, shouting, "Sammy!"
Or trying to, the words never made it to Sam's ears.
"Cas! I need your help!" Dean shouted, looking away from his brother for a moment, seeing the angel kill a vamp, disregarding it like it's nothing.
Castiel wasn't quick enough to stop the other vampire from tackling Dean to the ground, Castiel waved a hand over the Winchesters, sending a prayer to God that this goes well.
Dean watched as Castiel opened their mouth, looking as if they were screaming, but Dean couldn't hear a single thing, but the vampire he was desperately trying to keep away from his neck, it's head exploded, as did every other vampire in sight.
Looking back at Castiel, he saw the angel wave over him, "We need to take the rubble off of him-"
"Since when can you do that?" Dean asked, wearily following the angel, planning to help, but the angel picked up the rubble as if it weighed nothing.
"Since always, please focus Dean," Castiel said, moving the last piece off of Sam before dropping down, holding Sam's face, "He lost a lot of blood."
Dean jumped back into gear looking at his sickly pale brother, "Heal him!"
"What do you think I'm doing?" Castiel asked, numerous marks, scratches, bruises, and broken bones healed right away.
Dean could tell though Sam still wasn't okay yet, "From this angle it looks like you're just cradling his face! What's the problem?"
Castiel rolled their eyes, "I'm not-" they deeply sighed, "Sam lost a lot of blood. I can't replenish it. My healing can only go so far."
Dean wiped his face, "How? You pieced me back together no problem!"
"You weren't lacking a significant amount of blood, and I had the power of Heaven to ensure you were saved. Sam doesn't." Castiel told him, and shook their head, "If I was an archangel I could, but I'm barely an angel."
Dean bit his tongue, his frustration wasn't Castiel, and normally that wouldn't stop him but they needed to get out of here now, "Pick him up, we can't heal him here."
Castiel didn't comment about the fact that they were already picking Sam up, the pacing from Dean told Castiel enough that Dean was terrified.
Sam's eyes were barely open, unable to focus on anything, Castiel picked him up bridal style, being careful as they got back to the Impala, "How healed is he?" Dean asked as he opened the door.
"Everything is intact except for his blood, he can't support his head, or anything else for that matter." Castiel told Dean, "I'll hold onto him for the drive."
Dean looked like he wanted to argue again but he turned around and kicked something instead, Castiel focused on helping Sam into the car, settling the hunter in their arms.
Carefully adjusting Sam so he laid on them and didn't move too much, Dean slammed the door shut, running to the other side, pulling out of the vampires nest miles quicker than they had entered. Hauling ass to get back to the bunker.
"Sam has a spell to help replenish blood, it's in the bunker, I can execute it when we get back." Castiel told Dean, looking at Sam, and at the road, "How long will it take us to get back?"
Dean glanced back, picking up speed, "Not long. I don't care what I have to do, we're getting there now."
Castiel had a feeling it wouldn't be fast enough, "Pull over," Castiel demanded.
Dean looked back at Castiel as if they had grown a second head, "What?"
The angel repeated, "Pull over, now."
Dean found himself pulling over despite himself, "Cover your eyes," was the only warning Dean got before a flashing light happened behind him.
"Drive," Castiel told him, and Dean did, he realized what the angel was doing and despised him for it.
"What the Hell was any of that?" Dean demanded to know.
Castiel slowly looked up, "A last resort." Sam held onto Castiel, and looked up confused.
"Cas?" Sam asked, and glanced over at Dean who was staring back.
"Sam," Castiel responded back, Sam moved more his arms underneath the angel's coat, cold. The angel noticed Sam's shivering and transferred more heat to him.
Sam melted into it, he was cramped and uncomfortable, but warmer as Castiel held onto him with Dean's harsh driving, "I was dying."
Castiel swallowed hard, "You lost a lot of blood. I can't heal that."
Sam nodded, he knew that, it's why he came up with a solution for blood loss, "So how am I alive?"
Dean turned his attention to that, "Yeah, Cas. What the fuck was that light show?"
The angel sighed deeply, "I gave Sam a substantial amount of my grace. Almost enough for depletion..."
Sam frowned, holding tightly onto Castiel's trench coat, "Why would you do that, Cas, you were almost fully powered."
Castiel smiled softly at Sam, "Because I needed you to survive. I'll be okay, I'll heal, as will you."
Sam knew how proud Castiel had been to have more of their powers back, bouncing off the walls at the thought of being able to fly again, all of it was gone now.
"Sam, I'll have time to replenish my grace, but I would've burned through it all if it meant I could save you." The angel told Sam, pushing back a stray hair that covered Sam's face.
"Did we win?" Sam asked, looking at Dean who nodded.
"Of course we did, apparently we don't want to hear Castiel's singing voice, not if we want to keep our heads." Dean joked, although he shivered seeing how effective it was. Glancing at Sam, he'd been reminded what it meant for Castiel to be an angel today, Castiel was determined to keep Sam alive. No matter what it took.
Castiel rolled their eyes at Dean's comment, "I didn't sing, it was more of a powerful screech."
"Do I want to know?" Sam asked, looking between the two, Castiel shook their head.
"It doesn't matter, how do you feel?" Castiel asked.
Sam was cold, ached a lot, but, "I'm mostly fine. A bit cold, sluggish, and goddamn I feel a bus hit me, but besides that, I'm dandy."
"You're description of fine distrurbs me greatly," Castiel commented, "But I can feel you're doing better."
Dean shook his head, "Cas, next time, use your singing voice and save us the trouble of Sam trying to make himself an angel."
Castiel rolled their eyes, "I won't be able to for a while," they glanced at Sam, "But if I need to, I will."
Sam yawned, and let his head fall into the crook of Castiel's neck, "Since I'm not actively dying, I deserve a nap."
Castiel smiled, and moved themselves where it was easier for Sam to lay down a bit more. Not that there was any real room for it, Sam wasn't complaining though. Not at all.
