Shoulda been sleep last night, BUT I randomly did a paint study to mess around with my coloring, style. Stepped outside my comfort zone a lil and wanted to try something new. In the words of Bane…”Ahhh yes”.
Though I don’t know much about Mary Marvel and the whole Shazam! / Captain Marvel overall plot, etc. I do however always enjoy trying to draw someone new. So here is a little image of Mary Marvel looking ready to fight crime. Enjoy!
As you can see, i am not dead. This may be the best version of Harley Quinn I’ve done to date, although her hair is completely different from the version we’re used to, but it’s okay to change it up a bit. Who will it be next time? Can you give me some suggestions? what do you guys think, let me know what you think, see you next time, love you all
I've begun watching #myadventureswithsuperman and I do like the show, I find that the pacing is too rushed and that the character designs often look too way generic for my personal tastes, especially when they're based on iconic #dccomics characters.
This is NOT meant to shame the production staff who work on the show, this is much more of a fun little artistic exercise. With that said, here are the ways I tweaked the design;
*I kept the general shape of the gauntlets she wore in the two-parter series beginning and also kept the hair colour, skin tone and eye colour out of respect.
* Her top is based on the Livewire of the original DC Animated universe, with the lightning bolt acting as a reference to the original's leotard and it's incredibly deep neckline.
* The lightning bolt emblem is a reference to the Zero-Hour Reboot Legion of Superheroes where Lightning Lad, going by the codename of Livewire, sported a similar design for the lightning bolts on his costume.
* The wires around the gauntlets are meant to invoke the wires used in cranial electrostimulation, or CES, to treat cases of depression, anxiety and or insomnia. I wanted to suggest that she could have a sympathetic backstory or that her equipment radically alters her personality and she's become addicted to its power.
Endure, Master Wayne. Take it. They’ll hate you for it, but that’s the point of Batman, he can be the outcast. He can make the choice that no one else can make, the right choice.
When I found out about Palafin and how he changed forms in battles like Superman and it gave him a stat boost I had to draw this combo. Took me a while.
I also got the opportunity to finish up the version with my Big Barda 😄 Man, I'm so lucky and grateful to meet such fantastic artists with differing beautiful styles on this app. The collab version is still the superior one! 🙌
A blended take on the infamous Harley Quinn. Taking the classic design from Batman the animated series as a base and apply one or two touches from some of her more modern designs. All while playfully placing her on her criminal calling card. Enjoy!
