first off: thank you so much for writing this. i was really hoping youd go for the sirebond fanfic, so your effort is GREATLY appreciated! now let's get to the actual fanfic!

"Elena shook her head at him, almost relieved in how pointless this all was. "I do know that. And I also know that you never got it and if you donât get it now, you never will," she said. "I could never have had those things if Matt died. It would have never been the life I wanted without him alive. And you canât think that far ahead to see that. Stefan can."

"You don't consider anything I want, you don't take my feelings into account, you just do whatever you want because you need me to be alive for you."Â Elena spoke calmly and simply, as if she were explaining something to a child, which only seemed to inflame Damon. "And I - I get it but ... that ..." She shook her head. "That isn't love, Damon, that's obsession. Like with Katherine."
"You loved her for over a century, Damon, you carried her for over a hundred years, and then you came to town and ripped it apart for her, and she didn't care." Elena watched as the pain of the memory flitted across his face. âWhat did you do with all of that? Where did it all go?"
YES TO ALL OF THIS!!! thats one of my biggest issues with show. damon moves on from katherine SO QUICKLY after a whole fucking century of obsession. so, just like that, hes over her? bitch please. its so dumb. to be fair though... it wouldnt be. itd actually be brilliant if the show didnt try to gaslight us into thinking that damon was genuinely over her and then madly in love with elena. cause he was neither of those things. he basically transplanted his obsession onto elena. which is why he doesnt respect her as a person. i dont think he ever even explains what he likes about her. damons feelings for elena would be a great commentary on toxic patterns in romantic relationships like obsession, idealization, etc. but the show doesnt address any of this in a meaningful way. love that youre doing it though!

Since these are long, Iâm going to answer this in three parts!
Fandom
The moment in the story that I started shipping my OTP from this world?
Well, my OTP is definitely Klena, and I think I started shipping them in episode 11 of season 2. Elena goes to Slaterâs apartment to send that message to Klaus - the doppelgĂ€nger is alive and ready to surrender. And 14 year old me was immediately like đđ€đ. After that, Klaus asking Elena to save a dance for him and all was justâŠ.loaded.
Like, even before they met, there were these vibes and I was just in love with them. The way he holds her at the sacrifice, their chemistry during the prank night episode, it definitely got to me. Theyâve been waxing and waning in my mind since then.
My three favorite characters and why I love them so much.
The first is, of course, Elena. That very first scene in the cemetery where sheâs writing in her diary had me hooked. I was so intrigued by her loneliness and her depression, someone I could identify with, who was so internalised. Iâd always felt weird about being an introvert, and Elena was one of the first characters that I identified with. Now, after a decade, I can also identify with her grief, and itâs just that much more personal to me.
The second is Klaus. When he first came on the show, I wasnât sure what to make of him. I def found him attractive đ
but I thought there was more to him that I needed to see. I thought, multiple times âwhat an assholeâ, but I could also recognise his loneliness and his fear of being abandoned, and they just resonated with me. By s4 of TVD, I was already in love with him, and followed him onto TO. (That was for Elijah too đ€)
And third, I think, is Cami. I loved Cami, I saw her as this girl trapped in darkness, and trying to find her way out, until eventually she didnât want to find a way out anymore. It was nice to see someone who was somewhat ordinary getting trapped between these vampires. The beginning of her relationship with Klaus is so fascinating to me, like she obviously sees him as a tortured soul, while he is actively hurting her through his mind control. But she fights back, and sheâs tenacious, sheâs probably one of the few people who fights against Klausâ compulsion and then gets out of it. Refuses to play by his games but also plays him sometimes to get what she wants. Her struggle with vampirism was so, so real, and both her deaths were the saddest Iâve seen in that universe.
Which scene I would like to erase from the universe and why.
Ugh, the entire torture episode. Where Damon and Stefan (the saviours đ) both torture Elena to turn her humanity back on. Get Katherine to help too, just disgusting. That episode shows just how much internalised misogyny some of the show runners themselves held.
Which character I would choose for the chopping block if I knew the writers wanted to kill someone?
Probably Matt. Like, I like him well enough, but after a certain point, what does he even bring to the table?
The world-building aspect of the story I have the greatest admiration for.
The Originals for sure! I absolutely love s3 of TVD but s2 is so fucking good. The build up is amazing, first weâre introduced to Isobel, then that Katherine entry (like damn), just when we think sheâs the baddest, Elijah shows up and scares the fuck out of Katherine.
And then, this intense build up to Klaus and sun and moon curse, only for us to learn that it was all fake, and to know about the real curse. Itâs justâŠ. Brilliant storytelling. Like yes, there are loopholes, and itâs the CW, but itâs just so well paced. Iâll be honest though, once the originals show up, it feels like we go into a different level. So much of the credit for that goes to Daniel and then Joseph, they were both brilliant, and they brought something unique to their roles that made us want to see them more. They elevated every scene they were in and Paul, Nina and Kat were the only ones who could keep up imo, at least in terms of screen presence.
The perfect number of books/seasons/movies needed to tell this story properly.
I think 4-5 seasons were more than enough. Iâm not a fan post s4 (and s4 hangs on by a thread).

louise would be introduced just like the pilot episode; her getting ready for school and writing in her diary (1x01). as for vivienne, she was introduced in a flashback in 1864 with katherine going to the salvatore mansion (1x06).
who the fandom ships them with
of course the top two ships for louise would be louise/damon and louise/klaus. however ever since season three, thereâs been an uprising in louise/stefan shippers. as for vivienne the majority would ship her with klaus.
why the fandom loves them
vivienne is a badass and who doesnât love a badass? sheâs the character you want to hate but end up loving. louise is brave and loyal. i think fans can sympathise with her and respect her ability to stay strong throughout the series.

of course not everyone will love all the characters. well vivienne is the villian so yeah, thatâs obvious. for louise it would be the fact she gets to be with hot guys lol

victoria would get one well with her cast mates both on and off set. i would say she would be the closest to nina though.

Look I got multiple scenes that I loved/hated/left me reeling from your fics.
Yibbum: Damon's death scene and Stefan's desiccation. It had been a minute since I read that fic but my God that scene stayed with me. It was so obvious Damon was tortured and the way his body was left? Whew.
Dr. Parker Series: While I loved the entirety of this series the scene from The Bait with the compelled girl is the scene for me. It starts off mildly then Bonnie gets the phone and bam it becomes something out of a psychological thriller.
Original Sin: The whole fic. No I think when Abby does that spell and traps Kai in this small cube of space. Ngl a part of me wanted to throw hands with Abby. I mean it was warranted but man.
Long Shadows: So much goes down in this fic. I don't even know where to begin. You got the scene with the Heretics that had debates going on for a little bit (they both were wrong imo) and then the part when Rebekah snaps trying to kill Kai. (I honestly gotta do a reread since you started updating again)
I'll Wed You: THE CAR SCENE. Anyone who read that fic knows exactly what scene I'm talking about. Good God. But that latest update though. đđ

11. what I think of the central character(s)
The central characters of TVD are Elena, Stefan and Damon. I'll start with Stefan and Damon I think. When we are first introduced to them, they are juxtaposed against against each other, they both have led pretty similar lives, on the surface, yet, both are vastly different. As we go about the series, we see the layers come off and get to know them more.
Stefan grew up with an abusive father, a protective brother, and no mother. From a young age, he was stuck in a conundrum, having to conform his behaviour to not be abused, and yet, watch Damon get abused. His father favouring him inculcated a deep guilt in him, and it carries on throughout. Katherine, I think, shaped a lot of who he is. She raped him, and then gaslighted him in the present.
There's a strange phenomenon in the way he reacts to Caroline's abuse at Damon's hands, I think Stefan has convinced himself that sex through compulsion isn't rape, because if he acknowledges it, he has to reconcile with the fact that he was raped by someone he loved. The one time he tries to speak to Damon about it, to connect, he's brushed off, his trauma isn't acknowledged and he never speaks about it.
In a very interesting sort of contradiction however, Stefan is a sadist. Some of his acts are so cruel that even Klaus is a bit taken aback, fascinated sure, but also in wonder at the capacity Stefan has to torture in ways that truly hurt. And this is exactly the reason Stefan tries not to go off the rails ever. He doesn't just tear people apart limb from limb, he compels them to drink their spouse's blood, etc just for his own amusement. Itâs what sets him apart, I think, he can be so depraved that it makes sense to him to not be that person. I do think that Stefan has a strong internal character though, for trying to resist giving into his worst urges. But, he also hides from himself, doesn't always acknowledge how cruel and emotionally manipulative he can be.
Damon, oh Damon. Such wasted potential. Damon is a great antagonist, I love s1 Damon. As the villain. He's the bad guy who's horrid to Vicky and Caroline, hurts Stefan and Elena, has a mission. I don't mind him as a love interest in s1 but then a strange thing starts happening, all of his evil deeds are swept under the rug, never addressed, and this narrative starts where it's said he's doing the bad things just to protect Elena. It is such a disservice to him. He could've had a real redemption arc, could've actually helped Stefan through his ripper phase, acknowledged that what he did to Caroline was horrible and feel the guilt and pain, get tortured a little, been better to Jeremy and Bonnie. Or he could've stayed a villain. Instead we get this confused character arc that has one foot in antagonist, one foot in redemption and does neither well.
And Elena. I saved her for the last because I think I say how I feel about her all the time. I think sheâs strong, incredibly intelligent, quite manipulative, and deeply depressed. I think Iâve read a fic that described her as a bit trigger happy. In that she always jumps to the most extreme solution to a problem and it ends up making thinks bad for her, but sometimes, it works very well. Honestly, Iâll need to make a new post if I am to do her justice.
20. how and when they should get/should have gotten together
For Klaulena. I think s4 couldâve been a fun time! Like, Elena is a newly turned vampire, who just a few days ago, held a knife to her throat to save Klausâ life. That scene where Klaus has her tied up and is draining her blood has so much potential! Maybe she couldâve said something about how her destiny was being fulfilled, about dying, and Klaus wouldâve been undoubtedly fascinated by that.
So when she turns, and Klaus has to save her by giving her his blood, it couldâve established a connection between them. For the famous Klaus Mikaelson, hmmđ€ what would I change from canon, this is an interesting one, actually. Probably that he wouldnât have been straight. Tbf, I refuse to believe that Klaus is straight. I mean, his whole thing with Lucien and Stefan, like, no way, he enjoyed spending his time with those two. And he was way too possessive over Stefan for it to beâŠ.platonic. I mean, Stefan survived s3 of TVD somehow, even after stealing the coffins, I mean thereâs no one else who couldâve survived that. And the Klaus/Lucien dynamic is not platonic either, like those two def hooked up at some point or the other. I donât think Iâd change anything else about Klaus đđŒ

So I really like dark shows and I don't see enough people talking about them, one is Tell Me A Story, it's a twist on fairy tales in a way and it's done so dark and you just don't know what to expect, another one is Into The Dark which is a one a month episode based around a holiday in that month and damn each episode is completely different with a different cast and I just love it but it's got some serious gory bits so not for the faint of hearted.
7. Yes! MacGyver, it was a request that included Lucas Till as MacGyver and seeing all these gifs of him just made me want to check it out because it just looked like a fun and quirky show.
21. I think it would have to be Supernatural if I had to choose just one because of how big of an impact it's had on my life and just knowing how fun the cast are I know it would be a truly amazing experiance.
22. Oh it would be a dark twisty supernatural fantasy starring Lyndsy Fonseca and Justin Chatwin. She's a dancer with a dark secret and he's a guitarist who keeps getting mixed up in shit. Like honestly I've had so many ideas but I'm not much of a writer.
