Shen Jiu! Parenting!! Ning Yingying!!!
———
“Hi baby.” Shen Qingqiu cooed at the infant. He was a bit embarrassed at how easily he melted around Yingying, but she was his daughter, and he figured he was allowed.
This time, however, he’d forgotten where he was. In the middle of a peak lord meeting, surrounded by wide-eyed, incredulous stares.
“Do you think he realizes we’re here?” Wei Qingwei mused loudly, wincing at a kick he got from one of his martial brothers.
“Shut up! Do you want him to?”
Qi Qingqi was usually never speechless, but today, it seemed she did not have any sour words in her for Shen Qingqiu, who she always passionately loathed. Her mouth was catching flies.
Most others seemed to feel the same. Liu Qingge sat frozen in his seat, staring. Yue Qingyuan seemed startled and…oddly wistful.
Shen Qingqiu was in his own little world. “Oh my goodness, you’re so chubby…” he lightly pinched at Ning Yingying’s little cheeks and gasping in delight when she let out a little squeal of delight.
“This has to be a hallucination,” Mu Qingfang muttered to himself, eyes wide. “Were we poisoned?”
Ning Yingying caught her adoptive father’s finger in her tiny fist and shoved it in her mouth, drooling happily all over it. Shen Qingqiu just laughed.
Meanwhile, a certain Shang Qinghua sat in his chair with his head in his hands as he mourned the death of the canon universe.

Bingqiu AU where SY and LBH grow up as childhood friends (idk maybe they're both at QJP but Shen Jiu is less of an asshole, or maybe SY transmigrates into Random Village Bully Child No.3 when Binghe's mom is still alive -- or both) and there's none of the tension of the idea of "one day Luo Binghe is going to rip my limbs off" for Shen Yuan.
So he and LBH can just be bros! Fantastic! Shen Yuan has never had a little brother before but he's had a little sister, he knows how to do this. Just spoil the cute kid rotten!
It's only fair compensation for how many terrible things LBH is gonna have to endure on the road to ruling the world, after all. SY also feels more freedom to change minor aspects of the plot around, too, like maybe he'll stop Liu Qingge from dying, definitely he can help LBH get a better start to his cultivation journey, and maybe the abyss and xin mo thing doesn't really need to happen...?
The list of things SY considers meddling with ends up including wives.
Like really, come on now, Luo Binghe may be a stallion protagonist but there's no need for that many women. Especially when at least half of them are just increasingly cheap copies of the other half, and that's being generous about it. Some of PIDW Binghe's wives were, frankly, horrible people. And if he's being honest about it, it wasn't fair of Binghe himself to take on that many either. Even if anyone would naturally give their left arm to be the protagonist's wife, after a certain point Binghe just can't spend that much time actually with them! And then he can't form the kinds of deep and meaningful bonds which might actually help heal his trauma!
SY's not looking to interfere too much, of course. Ning Yingying is not his favorite wife, but she's fine. She causes trouble but it isn't on purpose, and she's genuinely sweet and willing to befriend Binghe before he's anything special (although even now, it's obvious Binghe is special). Ning Yingying can stay.
And of course, so can Best Wife Liu Mingyan.
But Sha Hualing? Well, she offers some political advantages, and as the demon wives go she's not the worst. She's kind of iconic and was very popular, but Shen Yuan thinks the harem could do without her scheming and malicious attitude towards the other wives. The cost of harmony was too high for the political bonuses offered, especially when Binghe might as well just take her ancestral lands by force and be done with it. He's going to advise against that match.
And the Qin sisters. Sure there's the legendary threesome, but Wanrong's dead weight and it never struck SY quite right how Qin Wanyue pressured Luo Binghe into sex. The threesome wasn't even good anyway.
Better Qin Wanyue than the Little Palace Mistress on that front, though. But aish, that's complicated, the Palace Mistress is even more politically vital to securing HHP than Sha Hualing is for her father's kingdom, and almost as bad for the peace and harmony of the harem. Ultimately SY will leave it up to Binghe, but if Binghe asks, he's going to advise against the Huan Hua wives too.
With thoughts like this in mind, SY starts talking to Binghe about how to establish a household, what to look for in a spouse (or twenty), and other topics of that nature. What sort of household Luo Binghe ought to strive to have, and what sorts of standards he should himself to. Also while of course assuring him that Shen Yuan isn't interested in women. Lest he worry that Shen Yuan might be trying to steal any of the wives from him, at any point. He's not competition!
SY: I am helping to pave the way for Binghe to have better marital relationships! I am the best big brother slash best buddy ever! don't worry, no matter what happens to Binghe, this gege will be your no.1 cheerleader forever!
LBH: is he saying I should get a palace if I want to marry him? well... that sounds reasonable. ok, I will do it! (•̀ ω •́)✧

If you do Bingyuan prompts:
Bingge discovering/realizing that his children’s beloved head teacher is the friendly Shizun from the other world would be a delight!
(Shen Yuan with a miniature army of tiny heavenly demon children who adore him is just super cute!)
By the age of twenty-five, Luo Binghe possessed—or thought he possessed—all the wealth and treasures in the world that a man could want. His vengeance upon the Cang Qiong Mountain sect was complete, the mountain range burned and its peak lords slain but for the master of Qian Cao Peak and Qi Qingqi, whom he had spared for Liu Mingyan’s sake—and he had long since established himself as Emperor of the demon realm, with no small amount of influence in the world he was born to by virtue of his marriage to the Little Palace Mistress, Hua Zhihan.
But then—half-way through his twenty-seventh year, and three years after the construction of his great fortress close to Huan Hua Palace—he stumbled through a rent in the very skin of the world and found himself back upon Qing Jing Peak, cradled in the arms of a man who wore the face of Luo Binghe’s hated shizun.
He had hardly been there an hour before he discovered that that Shen Qingqiu had been nothing like the jealous fiend who tormented Luo Binghe in his youth. On the contrary, he had welcomed Luo Binghe into his home and bed like a new bride reuniting with her husband at the end of a long day’s work; and for several months after Luo Binghe returned to his own palace in the demon realm, he found no satisfaction in his endless riches, or the tens of wives in his harem.
He spent a full season hunting for that Shen Qingqiu in his own world afterwards, for he knew somehow that the living Shen Qingqiu who had married the other Luo Binghe and his own former Shizun were not one and the same. The Shen Qingqiu Luo Binghe knew had nothing in common with that man other than his face, and even that had been so altered by the spirit living behind it that Luo Binghe had not recognized him as Shen Qingqiu at first sight; but the other Luo Binghe reminded him a great deal of his own child-self, and how single-mindedly he had loved Ning Yingying in those early days at Cang Qiong.
But years went by, and Luo Binghe found nothing—no shadow or trace of that gentle Shen Qingqiu, whether living or dead—and at last, he drank himself sick on dragon-blood wine and unburdened himself to Ning Yingying, confessing that nothing under the sun had brought him joy since that one jewel-bright day with Shen Qingqiu three summers earlier.
Of course, he did not breathe a word about what had actually happened—for Yingying and the others believed that the strange, bewildered husband who stumbled into the hougong that day was none other than Luo Binghe himself, and he had never seen fit to disabuse them of the notion—but she seemed to understand that the better part of his life’s joy had left him, and said:
“A-Luo, if we sisters can’t make you happy as we used to anymore, do you think—do you think a child might make you happy? We’ve been married for nearly ten years, and I hoped…”
Luo Binghe thought for a moment, still dizzy from the six pots of wine he drank with his evening meal; and amid the soft haze clouding his thoughts, he realized that he would have died of envy if the poor imitation of himself from the other world had had a child with his Shen Qingqiu.
But the only children he had seen on Qing Jing Peak that day were a handful of young disciples in their early teens, far too old to belong to that pitiful Luo Binghe. It struck him that this was something that other Luo Binghe could never have—must never have, lest Luo Binghe know what had happened and find his way back to that dream-world to quell his jealousy by ripping his other self limb from limb—and then—
“It might not be a bad idea,” he heard himself say. “What about Yingying? Would you like a child?”
“Very much,” Yingying whispered, taking Luo Binghe’s hand.
Their first daughter, Suoxin, was born the next year; and when the head taiyi placed her in Luo Binghe’s arms, a tiny mote of the tumult in his soul grew calm, and never returned to trouble him again.
The birth of Suoxin’s younger sister Changying followed exactly a hundred days later, for Hua Zhihan had demanded a child of her own as soon as she heard that Ning Yingying was pregnant, and Luo Binghe saw no reason to refuse her. Several of his lesser wives had attempted to follow suit, but he was adamant that no children should be born to them until the children born of his five chief wives had safely reached the age of about three or four: especially after the tragedy that accompanied the birth of Luo Binghe’s first son.
The taiyi later discovered that his mother—Qin Wanyue, who had suffered a miscarriage at Sha Hualing’s hands some six years earlier—had been born with a deformation in one of the chambers of her heart; and due to her general good health and the strengthening effects of her cultivation, Wanyue never noticed it. But her cultivation was not sufficient to protect her from the strain of childbirth; and scarcely five minutes after the baby took his first breath, Qin Wanyue drew her last, dying without knowing anything more of her child than a single, snatched glimpse of his small red face.
The infant was given the name Luo Nianzu, in remembrance of his mother, and handed over to Liu Mingyan to raise. Mingyan had not wanted a child of her own, though she was more than willing to bring Nianzu up in Wanyue’s stead.
And in the wake of Qin Wanyue’s passing, Luo Binghe vowed to himself that he would never sire another child. He had been the instrument of her ruin, wittingly or not: and with three healthy heirs, of whom one was a boy, he refused to risk a second death in the harem.
But his resolve had not hampered Sha Hualing’s plans: and in truth, Luo Binghe should have known better than to expect otherwise. One night, she took Xin Mo from the stand beside his bed and stabbed Luo Binghe straight through the shoulder—rather more ferociously than usual, he thought—and absconded from the palace with three phials full of his spilt blood, returning a fortnight later with a fat baby boy swaddled in one of her own silk veils.
“Did you give birth to him?” Luo Binghe frowned, after he tasted the child’s blood mites and found that they were nearly identical to his own. “You were only gone for two weeks.”
Sha Hualing only laughed at him, and asked that he give their son a name. Luo Binghe named him Shunlei, with the shun for obedience and the lei for thunder; and though Hualing took the hint at once, she was so well-pleased with Shunlei’s name that Hua Zhihan spent the next month sulking about it.
The three years that followed Shunlei’s arrival were peaceful ones, for the demon realm had been brought to heel with Sha Hualing’s aid, and Mobei-jun grew more ruthless towards Luo Binghe’s enemies with every passing day. Yingying and Mingyan governed the harem both kindly and firmly, calming any disputes among the lesser wives and punishing those whose bids for favor put their sisters in danger; and they never faltered in their duty to the little ones, so that Luo Binghe went untroubled by the children’s needs until Liu Mingyan declared that Suoxin and Changying were old enough to begin studying with a trained taifu.
“I already have a candidate in mind,” she said to him over dinner one evening. “Will my lord permit me to look after the arrangements myself?”
“I don’t see why not,” Luo Binghe replied. “Do what you must. Only ensure that the taifu is well educated, and knows how to teach little children without frightening them.” One Shen Qingqiu was bad enough, after all.
And so, preparations went forth for the children’s education. Liu Mingyan wrote to the prospective taifu, who accepted the offer of employment and asked for a month to settle his affairs before moving to the palace; and Yingying began teaching Nianzu and Shunlei how to read, in the hope that the taifu would agree to instruct them alongside Suoxin and Changying.
Luo Binghe, having nothing further to do with the matter, left for the northern desert with Mobei-jun and Sha Hualing.
Linguang-jun had decided to rebel against his nephew’s rule again, and Luo Binghe was weary of indulging him. In the aftermath of Shang Qinghua’s betrayal, he and Mobei-jun had both decided that Linguang-jun’s continued existence was far more trouble than it was worth.
All told, he remained away from the palace for over two moons. When he finally returned, in midsummer, he went straight to his own courtyard and slept for three days without moving a muscle.
And then he awoke, and heard a soft strain of qin music issuing from the other side of the wall.
Luo Binghe froze.
That courtyard was meant to be empty; it had been empty since the day it was built, eight months after he met that other world’s Shen Qingqiu. Luo Binghe had filled its four rooms with books and bamboo furniture, and even the double bed in the inner chamber had been a replica of the one the other Shizun slept upon—and the courtyard’s little garden had a pavilion with a built-in table for a qin, since the construction of that Shizun’s house and garden made it plain that he liked to practice out of doors.
Who had dared set foot in that courtyard while Luo Binghe was absent?
Hua Zhihan? Qin Wanrong? Certainly not Yingying or Liu Mingyan; it resembled the living quarters at Qing Jing far too closely for either of them to find any peace there.
Trembling with fury, he pulled on the robes he was wearing last night and rushed over to the adjoining courtyard, where he stopped short at the threshold of its white-painted moon gate and gaped at the spectacle awaiting him within.
There was a man sitting at the qin table in the pavilion—a man, in the compound where Luo Binghe lived with his wives—playing a rearrangement of “Flowing Waters,” with Luo Shunlei on his lap. Suoxin and Changying were seated on either side of him, armed with child-sized guqins of their own, and Nianzu was nestled against the man’s shoulder, asleep.
And his face—
Luo Binghe had never seen such a face before. It was not the face of Shen Qingqiu—not the Shen Qingqiu he knew, at any rate—but the light in his eye and the warmth of his voice as he spoke to Suoxin were very like that Shen Qingqiu’s, though Luo Binghe noticed that there was a shade of difference between the two.
He is older, Luo Binghe realized at once, as his heart thundered inside him. The other Shen Qingqiu was young, judging by his manner—perhaps forty, at the very oldest—and my Shizun never even reached the age of fifty.
The other Shizun had worn green, he remembered. He preferred the same clean-cut style of dress that Luo Binghe’s shizun liked to wear, and of course their bodies and faces had been the same, as well; but this man wore s different face entirely, and his worn silk robes were a clean, stark white, like the garments of the wandering rogue cultivators who used to pass through Luo Binghe’s hometown when he was a boy.
The trappings of his flesh made no difference, however.
Luo Binghe knew him for what he was at first sight.
It struck him then that this must be the taifu Liu Mingyan selected for the children. He could not fathom why she would have housed an imperial tutor in the hougong, of all places: but now that he was here, Luo Binghe would rather walk through the Endless Abyss again than permit him to leave.
Luo Binghe could have stood in the doorway and stared at him for a lifetime; but then the taifu looked up and clambered to his feet, tugging the little girls along with him. Shunlei remained where he was, gripping the soft front of the taifu’s gown like a baby monkey clinging to its mother’s back; and Nianzu, securely balanced on the taifu’s hip, slept on without noticing that the man had moved at all.
“My lord,” the taifu said, bowing. “This humble servant offers his—”
“Xin’er greets Father!” Luo Suoxin cut in, glancing up at her teacher for approval. “Did I do it right, Shizun?”
“Yes, except for the part where you interrupted me first,” the taifu laughed. “Go on, Changying.”
Luo Changying nodded and stepped forward.
“Chang’er greets Father,” she said, rather more gracefully than Suoxin.
“Well done,” said the taifu. “Now, Shunlei…?”
Shunlei blinked and tightened his grasp on the taifu’s robes.
“A-Shun is hungry,” he complained, refusing to meet Luo Binghe’s eyes. “Shizun, snack time.”
Luo Binghe bit back a smile. This man was somehow more indulgent with his young charges than the other Shizun had been, and the sight of him holding Nianzu and Shunlei was so desperately sweet that Luo Binghe nearly reached out and touched him.
“Daozhang is the new taifu, I suppose?” Luo Binghe asked instead, taking another step forward. “Your name?”
The taifu nodded.
“This one is called Zhu Qinglan, my lord,” he replied, trying in vain to coax Shunlei down to the ground. “Now, A-Shun, my good little disciple…”
“Shunshun won’t look at him,” the baby insisted, his little voice muffled in the folds of Zhu Qinglan’s coat. “I want to eat cake, not see Fuqin.”
To Luo Binghe’s astonishment, Zhu Qinglan sat down on the steps below the pavilion and drew a wrapped package of sesame cakes out of his sleeve.
“Your imperial father has come back to see you after two months, and you act like this?” he chided, placing one of the cakes on Shunlei’s outstretched palm. “Now, eat your cake like a good child; and then you must get up and greet your father properly, like Xin’er and Chang’er.”
Luo Binghe lifted his hand.
“No need,” he said mildly, watching with half-crazed eyes as Zhu Qinglan stroked Luo Nianzu's fluffy hair. “Shun’er is always upset after this lord returns from his travels abroad. I do not see the children as often as I would like; but I try to dine with them at least once a week, and that little demon in your arms refuses to speak to me for days on end if I ever dare to arrive late.”
With that, he turned on his heel and swept out of the courtyard. He could not stand in Zhu Qinglan’s presence any longer, lest he do something that would terrify his children and turn their Shizun against him forever; and as it was, the little demon servant who brought breakfast to his quarters ten minutes later nearly died of fright at the sight of him.
“Zhu Qinglan,” Luo Binghe said to himself, after the petrified lackey made his escape. “The name suits him, whether it is a false one or no.”
He drained the last of his tea, and smiled.
“I’ve finally caught you, Shizun.”

Story-idea: Shen Yuan and his sister transmigrate
There are a lot of good stories already with Shen Yuan transmigrating into a young child that gets adopted by Shen Qingqiu. Most don't account for a glaringly obvious problem in this setup - Shen Qingqiu's hate of men. And I think boys are very much included in that sentiment. So what if Shen Yuan and his meimei transmigrate and she's the reason they get picked up?
Shen Yuan and his sister could have a traffic accident, maybe she's driving him while he's furiously tipping his last hate reply. Both are transmigrated into siblings that are sold to a brothel. Luckily they are both too young to offer full services yet and do chores instead. Shen Yuan doesn't recognize the brothel's name from the book, so he thinks they are at least out of the way of any revenge or wife plots until they can escape. Turns out they won't stay there long enough to even come up with a good plan.
A few days after they were sold, his little sister has to wait on one of the clients. Said client is very displeased to see such a young girl there. To make it worse for the brothel owner, the little Shen sister is very cute and funny and so apparently somehow manages to immediately worm her way into the guys heart and he promptly buys her contract.
He tells her that he has no bad intentions towards her, but will instead take her to his sect to learn cultivation. She doesn't really believe him at first and also refuses to leave without her brother. He's not overly happy that he has to buy a boy as well, but does it readily enough anyway.
Miraculously, after their contracts has changed hands, the brothel owner dies under tragic circumstances. You see, he was killed by a resentful ghost. But luckily the aforementioned client just happens to be a cultivator who was on a mission and just got there on his way back to his sect. And while he was too late to prevent the tragic death, he got rid of the ghost quickly after the murder. Case closed; what a relief for the local authorities! One of the prostitutes is happy to take over the establishment.
The Shen siblings aren't stupid, their new owner obviously murdered the guy and fooled the guards with this bullshit ghost story! No complaints about that, really. It does however also mean that this guy is unscrupulous and it will be more dangerous to get away than before. Learning that the man is actually the scum-villan Shen Qingqiu definitely doesn't make the situation better.
But then they get to Cang Qiong and are officially accepted into Qing Jing peak. The Shen sister immediately becomes good friends with Ning YingYing, who is about the same age as her new body. Which means Luo Binghe isn't there yet and everything awful can still be averted.
I think it would be really funny if the sister got very attached to Shen Qingqiu, who dotes on her as much as Ning YingYing, and Shen Yuan freaking out about this. Not only because he's constantly worrying about her getting molested and she vehemently insisting that's never going to happen, but also! How can his sister like the Scum-Villain of all people in the slightest!!! “Why, meimei? You're usually so clever and perceptive! What's wrong with you?!”
And then one day Luo Binghe joins and the Shen sister is now almost constantly clinging to Shen Qingqiu's skirts and he's not mistreating the protagonist (no matter how much he wants to) because it would upset his little babygirl. Can't have that.

Shen Yuan shixiong AU - Part 10
Upon arrival, the group visits Old Master Chen to gather some information. Knowing his shixiong’s impatience with small talk, Ming Fan eventually takes over, claiming his senior needs time to prepare for the mission. Fortunately, Shen Yuan inherited his shizun's attitude when dealing with outsiders and Old Master Chen respectfully lets him go.
Later, as the sky starts to get darker, Ning Yingying asks Shen Yuan permission to go out in town. She invites him to go with her, but Shen Yuan gently refuses, saying he truly needs to gather more information to deal with the problem in town. He then suggests to bring Luo Binghe with her instead, planning to help his shidi capture his shimei’s heart while he's at it. Thinking his shixiong is trusting him with Ning Yingying’s safety, Luo Binghe lets himself be dragged out.
Later, as Ming Fan summarizes what they learned, Luo Binghe interrupts them by barging in and saying Ning Yingying has disappeared. Ming Fan’s face goes through several different shades before settling on a dark shade of barely contained anger. “Luo Binghe! You-!” Shen Yuan raises his hand to stop him. He proceeds to quickly instruct him to ask Old Master Chen for assistance and prepare their shidis to search the town. Ming Fan clicks his tongue, then exits the room in large strides, “accidentally” kicking Luo Binghe on his way out.
“Don’t take it personally, Binghe. He’s just worried.” Shen Yuan then sees his upset expression and gently pats the dust off his clothes while trying to come up with something reassuring to say. As a transmigrator, he knows that this isn’t Luo Binghe’s fault at all. Ning Yingying is just that kind of character. Her whole personality is to be cute and innocent, be kidnapped, be saved by the protagonist, then rinse and repeat. In short, it was just another typical Tuesday for Ning Yingying. "We’ll find her and bring her back. Alright?” Luo Binghe, ashamed of failing the one mission his shixiong gave him and losing his shijie, refuses to meet the latter’s eyes and simply nods with a pitiful expression. Shen Yuan pats his head comfortingly.
Ming Fan works quickly and the other disciples are already awaiting orders when Shen Yuan comes out. He gives them clear and concise instructions, separating the group into small teams, telling them to watch each other’s back and alert him immediately if they find anything. As soon as he’s done giving orders, everyone rushes out, knowing that their shimei’s life might be in danger. Shen Yuan turns to his shidi. “Alright. Binghe, take shixiong to the place where your shijie vanished.”

Tianlang Jun sighs. His wife is no longer willing to fund his BL addiction, but he needs to buy those special edition books. There's only one choice.
"Binghe," Tianlang Jun announces to his son with a serious tone. "I'm sorry, but we're in a huge debt. I'm selling you to the peak lords of Cang Qiong Mountain Sect."
Luo Binghe cries as he packs his bag and heads to Cang Qiong Mountain Sect. Finally, the days of waking up to his father shit-eating grin is over. Luo Binghe has longed to leave the suffocating, scrutinizing eyes of all those demons who never approve of his existence, and he finally has his chance now.
Ever since he was born, Luo Binghe has always been different from others. He’s neither a demon nor a human. That’s right, he’s a half-blood. The demon elder Meng Mo tells him that it makes him unique and special, but he’s not convinced. Sure, Luo Binghe is immune to both human and demon poisons, but his whole life is spent sheltered and hidden from the public.
After all, if anyone were to find out his birth secret, his life would be in danger!
Luo Binghe heads over to Cang Qiong Mountain Sect, where he's set to be the personal assistant and caretaker of the Qing Jing Peak Lord, Shen Qingqiu. Rumored to be the most elegant scholar of his generation. Luo Binghe has heard many rumors about Shen Qingqiu, but surely he wouldn’t be any danger to Luo Binghe. After all, why would the esteemed immortal ever be interested in a normal boy like him?
Luo Binghe greets his new master. Shen Qingqiu is even more beautiful than he pictured. Dark hair that spills down to his waist, enchanting eyes that glare at him like he's a worthless mutt, and thin brows that furrow with annoyance.
Luo Binghe blushes. No, he can't possibly fall for Shen Qingqiu, but it's hard not to fall for his shizun! When Luo Binghe plucks the wrong qin string, he feels Shen Qingqiu's warm breath against his ear as he scolds Luo Binghe from behind. His heart keeps thumping 😳 Shizun smells so nice and his fingers are so pretty, what can Luo Binghe do?
He can’t compete with Shizun’s numerous admirers. There's Yue Shibo, who's so much older and seems to be a man from shizun's past. Then Liu Shishu, the war god who's handsome and strong. Luo Binghe sighs as he looks at his own reflection. He's such a nerd, how could Shizun ever like him?
There is no use complaining, though. Even back in the demon realm, Luo Binghe never fits in with the other demons. He's not like other demons, who enjoy mindless fights and vain things.
Luo Binghe finds joy in basking under the sunshine, a cup of tea in one hand and a book in the other. He much prefers the scent of bamboo and grass over those nauseating strong perfumes; the sound of a well tuned guqin over the rowdy crowds.
Yet, he doesn't fit in with the mortals either. With bright red orbs and naturally wavy hair, Luo Binghe doesn't meet the human beauty standards. He doesn’t know how to put on makeup and accessories like Sha Hualing, nor does he know how to be cute like Ning Yingying.
Realizing he's about to be late, Luo Binghe quickly throws his hair in a messy ponytail and grabs his boots before skipping down to the mountain base. They have a mission. He needs to show Shen Qingqiu that he's not a useless baggage like MF said. Why are his seniors always jealous of him?

- I love sqh's narrative pov, she's so funny!
- I also love the glimpses we get into the cumplane friendship and into the whole....situation sqq has going on with the harem of young men who are in love with him while sqq is oblivious to how gay everything is.
- and the moshang is super cute. mbj and sqh are both bad at communicating, in very different ways, and mbj is doing her best!
- 9k words in length

Cute crossover pairing I just thought of Ning Yingying and Jin Ling! I don’t know, just the idea of two formally spoiled sweets by hard assess getting together is kind of cute. NYY after SVSSS wouldn’t put up with any disrespect and would help JL out with running the sect. JL would like her kind personality and willingness to stand up for herself and him. I don’t know I just think it could be cute.
this is indeed adorable!!!!
and unlike binghe, if ning yingying was making things worse for jin ling through her attempts to be kind, he would not hesitate to be like GIRL STOP PLEASE SHUT UP
also to english-speaking ears, ning yingying/jin ling is just delightful

Ayo thank you for your contribution to society and world culture through the SVSSS iceberg, now if you don’t mind can you please explain it? I’ve been in the fandom a while but I swear I’ve never heard of some of these
Sure! Explanations will be sorted under the cut:
Tumblr media
SHEN YUAN TIER:
- all items in this tier are either surface level details from the source material or
- daily bingpup is a popular fandom meme (used in the metal gear sense lmfao) started by @ kamkamquats on Twitter that's pretty self explanatory: kam draws and posts a bingpup picture every day! The archive is available here.
I probably should have made this point just bingpup, as I believe his origins precede kam's art, but she certainly boosted his popularity significantly, and now her art and bingpup are canonized with the publishing of the 4th volume English translation of the novel, so I thought it was a fun point!
LUO BINGHE TIER:
- Feynite's au collection: an extremely popular collection of alternate universe fics written by legendary Scum Villain fic author Feynite.
- Scum Villain is a tragedy: an interpretation of the books that poses that from every other perspective besides Shen Yuan's, Scum Villain is an incredibly depressing tragedy.
- Luo Binghe is Airplane's self insert: "Don't asky why Luo Binghe wasn't the embodiment of [Airplane's] ideal man; Luo Binghe's use had primarily been to fulfill his desire to be a badass and get revenge, as well as his desire for wanton [this section has been censored]" (The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System volume 4, page 163).
- Shen Yuan died on his birthday: Shen Yuan's death date is never given in the original novels, but in the first scene of the donghua when he dies while at his computer, you can catch a glimpse at the date reading September 21st (both his birthday and the day svsss was published!)
- Shen Qingqiu's canon fursona: binghe compares sqq to a crane multiple times in the story but is depicted as a cat in fandom much more frequently, leading people to joke about how the fandom disregards his "canon" fursona in the same way bingpup is much more prevalent than sheep binghe.
- Shen Qingqiu can knit: there's official crossover Christmas merchandise that shows all of the mxtx couples participating in different holiday activities: wangxian are decorating a tree, hualian are baking cookies, and shen qingqiu is knitting a scarf for luo binghe.
- Luo Binghe's birthday: Luo Binghe is actually the only main mxtx character that doesn't have a canon birthday. He's noted in the books as being born on "the coldest days of the year", but it's debatable whether this is late December or early January, and there's no specific date from this that we can confirm is his birthday.
- sv manhua's indefinite hiatus: much to the excitement of starved fans, a Scum Villain manhua began publishing in 2019. It ran for a grand total of 3 wonderful weeks before being unceremoniously put on indefinite hiatus because of drama within the fanbase stemming from rumors that the artist/company drawing it actually hated scum villain. It has yet to return.
SHEN JIU TIER:
- Moshang's horrible first time: MXTX stated in a Q&A interview that neither Mobei-Jun nor Shang Qinghua enjoyed their first time having sex together.
- Shen Qingqiu invented maxi pads: the "scum villain pad commercial" is a commercial from the first season of the donghua depicting an exchange where Ning Yingying is self conscious about going out on her period because her sanitary supplies aren't cute, so Shen Qingqiu magics her up some maxi pads.
- Shen Yuan read mpreg yaoi: "#18 Peerless Cucumber [Expert]: Upthread, keep cool. This forum has a lot of Green JJ sisters 😎" (The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System volume 4, page 145). / "''Great Master' Liu! Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky didn't write a green Jinjiang mpreg novel!'" (The Scum Villain's Self-Saving System volume 4, page 295).
- Shen Jiu transmigrated into Shen Yuan: A somewhat popular theory in the fandom that when Shen Jiu died, he transmigrated into modern day Shen Yuan the same way Shen Yuan did to him.
- Cursed monkey island: Cursed monkey island is/was a private discord server made up of very og sv fans that was known for outputting somewhat dark/off-color/weird fics for each other, often with funny porn spoof names and niche concepts. The first fics from there were published in 2018, while the last fic in the collection seems to have been published in 2022, so they might still be active, but I'm not sure.
- Moshang has a 20 year age difference: Shang Qinghua died at at least age 20 (probably older) and since he transmigrated into a baby, he has 20 extra years of consciousness from his first life on the PIDW native characters, who he meets when they're both teenagers in the Airplane extras. Though physically the same age group, he would've been mentally somewhere around 30-40 years old at this point getting bullied by teenagers.
- The microwave: some of the first previews released for the donghua were static turnaround videos of the 3D models set to elevator music -- after these dropped, it was radio silence on the show's status for a long, long time. Fans called these previews "the microwave" because of the static rotation of the models and referred to the time it took for the donghua to come out as "defrosting it in the microwave". There's a fair amount of art/memes from this time period featuring the characters literally inside microwaves, even to the point where people made microwave-themed SV merch. When the donghua finally came out bingqiu were declared "free from the microwave" and a wave of fanart of them destroying microwave prisons emerged.
TIANLANG JUN TIER:
- Wangxian have read resentment of chunshan: in the mdzs audio drama extra episode "Accompanying you to sleep - Lan Wangji", Lan Wangji takes care of a drunk Wei Wuxian by getting him ready for bed. Towards the end of the episode, Wei Wuxian asks Lan Wangji to read him a bedtime story. Lan Wangji says he isn't good at telling stories and Wei Wuxian suggest he reads him The Resentment of Chunshan (bingqiu fanfiction). Unfortunately, Lan Wangji had never heard of it before and thereby could not ASMR it.
- Six Balls x Zhuzhi Lang: a rarepair (also called bamboo balls) written by the lovely Alex here.
- Shen Qingqiu has the protagonist halo: a theory/headcanon suggesting that when Shen Yuan transmigrated, the role of protagonist and subsequent protagonist halo left Luo Binghe and transferred onto him. Often used in angst canon divergences wherein due to the lack of a protagonist halo, Binghe dies from an event he otherwise would have survived because of his story invulnerability.
- Shen Yuan's sister found his dead body: an angst headcanon centering around the idea that Shen Yuan's sister found his dead body rotting in his apartment after he died- very good art made about this here!! (Gore/blood cw)
- Who is zhuzhi lang's dad: we all know zhuzhi-lang's dad was a big snake but what kind of big snake? How big? Why did his mom fuck him? all important questions heavily debated about in this fandom.
MOBEI JUN TIER:
- Every ship is cumplane: we already know Luo Binghe is Airplane's self insert, and Mobei-Jun's cold demeanor is somewhat reminiscent of Peerless Cucumber's tsundere wife-isms, making bingqiu and moshang arguable proto-cumplanes. However, we can go further and argue because Airplane created the entire world of PIDW, all of it in a way reflects him and his feelings, therefore meaning that because it loves Shen Qingqiu and Shen Qingqiu loves it back, every possible PIDW asset x sqq is cumplane in its basest form.
- Original donghua designs: the first pv for the donghua actually featured slightly different designs for bingqiu, which were then changed later in production! You can see the original ones here.
- PIDW is real: someone actually posted PIDW on jjwxc so you can get the real Shen Yuan experience.
SHANG QINGHUA TIER:
- Shen Yuan penetrated into the body of the scum villain: there is a listing for the svsss donghua on Amazon prime video (though no episodes are actually available) which features this banger summary:
An ordinary youth, Shen Yuan, after reading the novel "Arrogant Gods and Demons' Journey", triggers the mysterious system so that he crosses into the book world and penetrates into the body of villain--Shen Qingqiu. Shen Qingqiu's disciple, Luo Binghe, is the main character of the novel.
- Airplane's foot fetish:

For the record, whenever I write “Shen Mei” instead of “Ning Yingying” in my Shen Mei Transmigrates into Ning Yingying AU... it’s because, UNLIKE her brother, Shen Mei always & forever defines herself by her bond to him from their past life. (which is also why I’ve stuck to calling her 沈妹 because Mei / Mei-mei means younger sister)
Like, yes, she’s also her own person, but most importantly she’s emphatically not Ning Yingying -- no matter how similar she and the canon version of NYY end up being. She is Shen Qingqiu’s little sister, even if he isn’t Yuan anymore. She still calls him San-ge, even when she should be calling him Shizun. In fact, she had to make up an entire little spiel about this, because... she calls him San-ge in front of almost everyone.
So, abusing her Cute Shimei powers, she wheedles folks into allowing it. Situationally. because Da-ge (Yue Qingyuan), Er-ge (Liu Qingge), and San-ge (Shen Qingqiu) are like big brothers to her. She really looks up to them.🥺
Yes, in that order. YQY is sect-leader, LQG is the strongest peak lord, and well... that makes her shizun SQQ third, right? 🥺🥺🥺

SVSSS Headcanon: Drive Thru Edition!
Shen Qingqiu: He pulls up in a cute little cucumber-green car, impatiently honking at the person in front of him (he's second in line).
Luo Binghe: He is right behind Shen Qingqiu's car and hopes that he sees him at some point. He's in a flashy, bold, sleek black car.
Shang Qinghua: He's driving Mobei-Jun's cool and expensive car with Mobei in the passenger seat and Sha Hualing in the back. He just wants something simple like a drink, while the other two are still conjuring up what they want to order. He's right behind Luo Binghe
Ning Yingying: She's on a cute little pink moped, behind Shang Qinghua.
Liu Mingyan: She's driving her brother's car because she lost a bet on who's driving and paying for food. Their car is behind Ning Yingying's moped.
Liu Qingge: He won a bet, and now he's sitting in the passenger seat while Mingyan drives.
Yue Qingyuan: He's behind everyone else and is just contemplating whether or not he should just pull out of the drive thru and just go inside or to a different restaurant. He's also driving a minivan.
Tianlang-Jun: He's taking forever at ordering the biggest meal he can get for him and Zhuzhi-Lang in a pick-up truck.
Zhuzhi-Lang: Concerned for how much his uncle is ordering, but he's mostly concerned about his snakes in the bed of the truck.

Chapter 18: loved you like the sun
Relationships: Zhuzhi-lang & Tianlang-jun, Shen Qingqiu/Luo Binghe, Tianlang-jun/Su Xiyan, Luo Binghe & Zhuzhi-lang, Mobei-jun/Shang Qinghua, Minor Liu Mingyan/Ning Yingying/Sha Hualing
Rating: T

“Where is that troublesome nephew of mine?” A low hiss comes from the darkness behind Su Xiyan. Zhuzhi-lang slithers out of the shadows, stopping just shy of the light. Like the last time they ventured into his dreams, his appearance differs from how he looks in the waking world. He’s in his original half-snake form but smaller and younger than Tianlang-jun has ever seen before. There is something almost cute about him, though the clumsy way his tail blends into a vaguely human torso truly is bizarre. It is with no small amount of fondness that Tianlang-jun thinks, What an ugly little creature.  The sprout he discarded is not too far away; Zhuzhi-lang cautiously scoots towards it. Just as he opens his mouth—far wider than a human can—Luo Binghe grabs him around the middle. “I’ll take him while you two talk.”  “Good luck.” Su Xiyan picks up the mushroom. Zhuzhi-lang squirms in Luo Binghe’s grip, unblinking eyes fixated on it. Her cool gaze slides towards Tianlang-jun. “He’s been in a terrible mood.” Zhuzhi-lang’s tail shakes rapidly, a show of ferocity that—in this weird, tiny form—does not have the desired effect of frightening off the large “predator” he’s been trapped by. Tianlang-jun absentmindedly pokes at what he believes is Zhuzhi-lang’s stomach. “How terrible?”  “He tried to bite me twice before you arrived.”

lmy/nyy threadfic
Liu Mingyan knows she's a girl, and she's known forever. Qi Qingqi even agreed and took her into her girls only peak. But Liu Mingyan feels a little out of place once puberty hits; all her peak sisters talk about how wet they get when they see the objects of their desires, and Liu Mingyan instead gets hard when she sees hers. No one makes her feel bad about it or makes fun of her if they can see her hard, but she's different, and most of the time she doesn't mind.
But....she's the only one (that she knows of, anyway). And all the porn she finds she's only rarely seen girls like her in it besides from other girls like her. It's a little lonely. In her darker moments she wonders if anyone would want her, even though she KNOWS her sisters don't think any less of her. That everyone thinks she's pretty. But it niggles in the back of her mind. She knows that her sisters play around and experiment, and she thinks about it too. She uses her mouth and hands, but she's too embarrassed to let the other girls touch her back. Even though she's so hard that everyone can see it.
It goes on like this until she starts hanging out with that little Ning yingying from Qing Jing Peak. After the demon invasion, she'd gotten a little crush on that Luo Binghe, but it didn't pan out. Luo Binghe's friend, Ning Yingying, however...Liu Mingyan blushes as her stomach flips. She's spread out in bed, hand on her cock thinking about her: Ning Yingying's so cute, and she's sweet, and she's oblivious. Just like the porn that Liu Mingyan and her sisters have all read and devoured. But Ning Yingying is also a little bit mean, now that Liu Mingyan has hung out with her. And the juxaposition– Liu Mingyan swallows down a moan as she comes, dick still hard. It doesn't hurt to fantasize, even though she doesn't think she'll ever act on her crush.
After all, Ning Yingying is nice. But Liu Mingyan....she's pretty, but she has a cock. What if Ning Yingying doesn't like that? Ning Yingying isn't even one of her peak sisters; Ning Yingying doesn't already know about it, so Liu Mingyan keeps her crush to herself.
She does a good job, she thinks. But Ning Yingying is so tempting. Her breasts often squeezed together, her legs on display. Her mouth so pretty wrapped around all her candies.
It comes to a head while they're on a trip together, Liu Mingyan sprayed by a villager with an aphrodisiac. Men are always testing her limits to not tear them to fucking shreds with their arrogance. It's only because Ning Yingying already beat his ass that Liu Mingyan doesn't do something that would tarnish her reputation. But back in their rooms, there's no hiding her cock. It's tenting her robes. And she's so embarrassed; she doesn't even know if she needs to fuck or if it's an aphrodisiac she could just rub one out with. Ning Yingying, the cutie, pushes Liu Mingyan onto the bed and crowds on top of her. Liu Mingyan swallows under her veil.
"You don't have to–"
"But Yingying wants to."
Liu Mingyan's whole face turns red. It's the words she's wanted to hear so desperately. It doesn't feel real. It feels cruel it's happening like this, like one of her stupid porn novels.
"I'm not a regular girl–" Liu Mingyan tries to start, unsure if Ning Yingying hasn't looked down to see her cock straining so hard against her robes.
Ning Yingying smiles, dropping her clothed ass right on top of Liu Mingyan's cock. "Are you talking about this, Mingyan-jie? Because it feels pretty normal to me."
Ning Yingying giggles.
"Lots of cocks get hard under a pretty girl."
Liu Mingyan graps Ning Yingying's hips mid-sentence because she sure bets that lots of cocks get hard around Ning Yingying. But she was sure that Ning Yingying would have been too oblivious to even notice that.
“Does....does Yingying–"
Ning Yingying pouts as her butt wiggles. "No. But I've read!" Ning Yingying's face flushes. "I wanted to know how to touch you."
Liu Mingyan's brain turns off, and she pulls Ning Yingying along her cock to get friction. Ning Yingying looked up porn for her, and then that fact hits. Liu Mingyan's hands tighten as she squeezes her eyes shut. Ning Yingying knew about her cock and wanted to look up information about it to touch her.
Voice breaking because Liu Mingyan is overcome, "you looked up porn for me?"
Ning Yingying rubs her pussy down. "Mhm!"
"How did you–"
The flush on Ning Yingying's face gets even deeper. "Mingyan-jie got hard once. I asked A-Luo."
The both of them laugh a little, and the grinding isn't the smoothest it could be, but Liu Mingyan is so happy. Ning Yingying lets out soft little sighs as she wiggles on Liu Mingyan's cock, and Liu Mingyan takes the chance to kiss her. Ning Yingying is so soft under her lips, and it's a surprise when Liu Mingyan comes. She flushes. Ning Yingying lets out a little happy squeak and hurriedly tries to get Liu Mingyan's pants off because she wants to see. Liu Mingyan's cock twitches even though she just came. And she lets Ning Yingying examine her even though she's never let anyone else see her cock. Ning Yingying tells her it's cuter than she thought it would be. Liu Mingyan has to cover her face. Ning Yingying grabs one of her hands and whines, bringing Liu Mingyan to Ning Yingying's own pants.
"Mingyan-jie help meeeeee.”
They fumble to get Ning Yingying off until Liu Mingyan gets hard again, and Ning Yingying breathlessly asks to suck her off she's always wanted her mouth on a girl before. The way that she said it makes Liu Mingyan cry so happily, and Ning Yingying wipes her tears and kisses her until she calms down. Ning Yingying happily says that Liu Mingyan has to be her girlfriend now, Ning Yingying won't settle for less as she bumbles her way through her first blowjob. Liu Mingyan tells her she can have anything she wants, Ning Yingying has made her so happy.
Ning Yingying laughing and whoops Liu Mingyan shot her load into Ning Yingying's hair instead of her mouth. Ning Yingying pouting that her girlfriend has such terrible aim and Liu Mingyan asking Ning Yingying to repeat it again and again. She's Ning Yingying's girlfriend.
By the time either of them remember they were doing this because Liu Mingyan got sprayed with an aphrodisiac, they think that they've definitely done enough for it to be worked through Liu Mingyan's system. Ning Yingying demands even more kissies from her girlfriend for being so good at this. Liu Mingyan snorts.

SVSSS Mind Dump after reading the first chapter of the 3rd book:
Luo Binghe, you really are a masochist- damn
Shen Qingqiu YOU UNLUCKY BASTARD HAHAHAHAHA
Shang Qinghua, oh Shang Qinghua- you're a little goofy aren't you?
I love you, Yue Qingyuan, you're amazing, never cease to make me admire your character.
Ning Yingying, I thought she was some annoying character that made scenarios more inconvenient- but she's a girl boss who knows how to bite back at someone's words, I just love her.
Luo Binghe, why, why sleep next to a dead body for who knows how long? Yucky, ew, ew, ew, what else were you doing with it?
GONGYI XIAO COME BACK PLEASE I MISS YOU WHY DID YOU DIE
In my head, Zhuzhi-Lang has this cute, sweet, and warm voice. Like a low and comforting voice yet it has a bit of a rumble and citrus in his words if that makes sense? I like his character, I somehow find him funny?
Shen Qingqiu, I swear, you can't keep your soul in one body
Tianlang-Jun, DAMN IS HE HOT W H A T! Also, I don't know what Luo Binghe's mom looks like, but like, I don't care, Luo Binghe is Tianlan-Jun's literal factory copy, they looked so alike that when I first saw him I though it was Binghe.
I kinda miss the younger Luo Binghe, he was so cute, so friendly, so innocent, so lovable. He isn't unlovable now, it's just his attitude was so heart warming and made me feel really happy while reading. Like, his optimism and positivity when he was younger was so uplifting, like I'd be best friends with the dude.
The current Luo Binghe, can't tell if I'm scared of him, impressed by him, or like, and I don't know how to say this correctly but, attracted to him? Like, not in a weird way, like aesthetically and emotionally attracted to this character. He's just interesting, looks fricken awesome, and is incredibly powerful.
Shen Qingqiu is so goofy to me, his commentary especially. I'll be reading a really serious moment during class and then Shen Qingqiu's mind is like referencing a penis joke or an out-of-pocket, hilarious, brand new sentence.
Luo Binghe, and let me emphasize this, ASK FOR CONSENT BEFORE KISSING SOMEBODY, GOD. Did anyone teach him to ask before doing? Poor Shen Qingqiu was flabbergasted.
