#shizaya #a cheap imitation #i made a thing #chapter 47 #processpit #just came up with that one idk #thought it was a little fun #didn't want to just leave it as just “process”#tbh i kinda feel like #the sketch tests had better balance in the jars than the final #mostly referring to shizuo leaning over the jar #and izaya all !! inside the jar #balancing shizuo was difficult i had to attach a little masking tape weight to his back #lol i don't have a photo of it on hand but the hanging shizuo has a spine #made of q-tip sticks (i cut off the cotton bits)#one for his back and one for his head #it's kinda funny to me #but also oh my gooood getting that guy to hold on to the cork #not easy #paper shizuo can't handle it too well it pulls at his shoulder joint and now it's kinda worn #i think izaya in the jar was kinda way better in the sketch #but i was struggling to draw him at all so #i asked a friend to help out which changed the shape of it quite a bit #HE'S TOO WIDE #he doesn't fit in the jar right 😭#i snipped the edges of him as much as i could handle but #:c

im rather self-conscious about it of course but there is something a little satisfying about watching the cogs in someones brain turn as they figure out how to talk to me when i take things more literally than most people do. yeah it IS strange communicating in a way youre not used to isnt it. it IS uncomfortable having to change your natural way of speech in order to be understood huh

Saw a comment in the notes of a post that was like "no one WANTS to be a janitor and get up at 4am to clean floors. High school kids dont actually LIKE their burger flipping jobs" ect and like idk man I DID want to be a custodian! I really did! I wanted to but I dont have the body for it and I knew it would wreck me

And idk I think fast food jobs CAN be fun and I know there are people who do enjoy it

I myself enjoy what I do in retail, as long as the managers keep off my ass and leave me alone I genuinely do enjoy what I do!

I'm sorry you hate your job and that you find these jobs demeaning or whatever but I genuinely would love to pick up trash with a stick for a living. I would gladly be the traffic sign holder for construction crews. I DO get up at 3am for work and I prefer that over any other schedule bc I like the quiet!

I mean I understand that we under the current system cant do jobs we genuinely would enjoy bc they dont pay enough but you don't have to put down "low level" jobs to make that point

They kept telling all of us that we are just supposed to return to normal. How the fuck are we supposed to return to "normal"? What even is "normal"?

I need everyone to know that the healthcare professionals, public health officials, and public sector employees who worked through the pandemic and responded to the emergency are not okay, and neither are your disabled friends and family.

I saw a video of people crowded in a hallway at O'Hare, sheltering from the tornadoes that touched down. Practically no one was wearing a mask. And I started shaking. I felt nauseous.

I don't think I'll ever be the same. I don't think I will ever be able to enter public spaces the same. I am having a really hard time handling crowds or more confined/enclosed places. They make me feel trapped; helpless. Trapped in spaces with people who don't care about raw-dogging the air. Helpless to prevent the spread of illness.

#Anyone who followed me during the pandemic #will know about all the calls I got #where people threatened our lives for organizing vaccine clinics and for mask orders and stay-at-home directives #I have a reoccurring nightmare about a fictional emergency shelter running out of some resource (cups. cotton swabs. toothpicks)#It's usually a small thing that I have to find on a timeline and cannot find while people ask for help or yell at me for not helping #I have to face people upset by our lack of service #and people upset we're giving away 'freebies'#and hypothetical families who are in need of our services and asking for help but I have to tell them we cannot help #and I wake up shaking #TW: anxiety #anxiety
