I've noticed something between Priya, Abby, Aaron T. and Aaron Z.

They have the same colours as each other:

Yellow and purple. Yellow and purple are also known as complimentary colours!!!

Priya and Z. have the same ish personality. Priya is described to be deadpan and stoic, same as Z. except he's shy.

Painting #3: Open Subject Complimentary Color Texture Painting! I’ll post painting #1 later (next week maybe) and I prolly won’t post painting #2 bc it’s a self portrait lolz

I’m taking an Intro to Oil Painting class this semester! It’s my first time using oil paint and really painting in general (which I’ll talk more about when I post my first painting)!

For this piece we had to choose any subject and paint it by using only a pair of complementary colors to create darks, lights and neutrals. I chose my dog Oscar and yellow and purple for my colors. We had to have at least three different textures in our paintings, so I chose scumbling (background), sgraffito (facial fur and whiskers), impasto (some body fur), and wipe away (eye/ nose highlights).

I LOVE how this turned out!! :D I think it’s a huge improvement from my last painting, especially in terms of blending! I would love to do more paintings of Oscar and animals in general :3 I also want to paint stuff that’s more colorful too if I get the chance, I’d love to do a monochromatic blue piece!

N e ways we only have like 3 more paintings to do over the second half of the semester :( but I’m trying to get my parents to let me clear out a space in the garage to set up an easel so I can keep painting!

Reference photo and bonus photos of my beloved creature included!! He’s a jack russell terrier miniature pinscher mix incase n e one wants 2 know :)
