Considering WB is doing almost nothing to promote DC's Blue Beetle after three back-to-back-to-back box office failures, let this post be a reminder that Blue Beetle is just over a month away!! If you want to know why you should support this upcoming DC movie, here's why: • Blue Beetle is the first live action Latino superhero film • The film stars Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña as Jaime Reyes, Singer and Actress Becky G as the voice of the Scarab and George Lopez as Jaime's crazy uncle Rudy. • Blue Beetle is the first character in DC Studios' DCU timeline, as confirmed by DC Studios Co-Owner James Gunn • As stated above, Blue Beetle is part of the DCU world filled with superheroes. However, and thankfully, the past DCEU films are not relevant at all to Blue Beetle -- as confirmed by the movie's director Angel Manuel Soto. • Blue Beetle was made as "the first act of a saga" and is currently planned to have a trilogy, assuming the first film does well. • The Hollywood Reporter's sources believe that if Blue Beetle does do well and if it ends up getting a positive reception, Xolo Mariduena's Blue Beetle can end up appearing in the upcoming Booster Gold show. I saw blue beetle last night in theaters and-

it was so cute and good, and the references were funny lmao !!

and personally, I've been found xolo maridueña attractive, my mom watched cobra kai the minute she realized it was a karate kid spin-off/story continuation, so he was already a household name/face for me, so I was already super glad to see him take on the role of jaime reyes and knew he would do well.

also-also-also, it was amazing to see his character be brought to life because I remember being tiny and having the fattest crush on jaime after watching justice league vs. teen titans, so I felt the way I felt then, now, all over again😆. also, once again, the representation?! *french kiss*💋 spectacular. they were right when they said it was practically the black panther for latinos lmfao.

also, once again, I found myself deeply relating to the main character, his job/life struggles and the way he was feeling all of that pressure coming down on him so fast from all of these outlying forces,,, yeah🥲.

unlike me, though, his family was his support system. and I so deeply loved that for him and watching his bond/connection with his family on screen was so heartwarming and refreshing (especially for dc lmao we know how they be, traumatizing their characters💀), and then basically adopting jenny kord😭💜.

lord, and when the dad, alberto, died...I felt that in my chest bro, I was crying, like, milagro screaming out for her mom, dude...

also, miss susan sarandon, hello ?!? I know she was evil, but as usual, she ate down💅🏽. if you know me, you know I will root for speed racer's mom no matter what role she's in, like, susan did that fr, she plays evil so damn well, I almost hated her😭.

but yeah, all in all, super cute and fun movie, I loved it a lot, and I definitely can't wait for the dceu to expand on jaime and his family and superhero life, especially knowing he's basically the start of the whole dceu reboot thing. james gunn, do my boy right or I swear to god, I'll re-write and re-cast the entire dceu myself and do it better. that's a threat and a promise🥰🫵🏽.

anyways, jaime reyes will be added to my list or something like that soon, and when I do that, I'll happily take requests for him cuz wheeew...! fine ass man😻🥴✨️💙.

Yeah so, I finally watched Blue Beetle. It was amazing. I love Jamie (who would have guessed. After watching Young Justice I've got a soft spot for him)

Anyways, yeah I love the movie, 10/10.

Now I am searching for a screenshot/picture/anything where Jamie is wearing his yellow "Gotham Law" (for some reason, finding out that he studied law in Gotham made me happy) hoodie, because I loved that fit and I want it in my galery. But I can't find it, so now I'm sad :]

blue beetle: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

i thought it was a really good introduction to the character, especially because i knew little to nothing going in. the villain was VERY awful and easy to root against, which is always a plus. i really loved his family and jaime is SO COOL!! this is the dc renaissance, especially if gunn knows what he’s doing.

For the last several weeks, I've gotten to witness what may be the most positive thing I've ever seen the DC fandom do. 

To not let Blue Beetle become forgotten or ignored, a group of Twitter users got together and unironically formed what is now known as "The Blue Beetle Battalion". If you didn't know about this the "Blue Beetle Battalion" grew to become a genuinely positive group of folks who had one intention: to positively promote Blue Beetle as much as possible because Warner Bros/DC Studios couldn't do so. 

To most people's shock, that group grew to become a massive amount of people across Twitter to the point where even the cast of Blue Beetle became aware of its existence and started to push the #BlueBeetleBattalion hashtag to higher levels than we ever thought it'd reach. We'd spam gifs, tell people why they should support it, push all the positive stories surrounding Blue Beetle and even hype up all of the new posters that would drop. The best part is that along the way, a lot of people grew to become friends or at least aware of each other's existence and social media profiles as we'd joke around as we continued to push Blue Beetle across social media. At most, it was gonna be a funny joke to look back on where we'd all think "Man it sucks it didn't work out but at least we tried" but here we are today, having our efforts and love for Blue Beetle, Xolo Mariduena and the cast of Blue Beetle vindicated.

At the time of this post, Blue Beetle has gone against all the odds and currently sits at an 85% on Rotten Tomatoes! The highest DC film score since The Batman, can you believe it!?

As I said in so many of my other Blue Beetle posts, please support this film. Please go out and watch Blue Beetle with your friends and family. As the first live-action Latino superhero film, the representation that it's bringing is such a warm welcome and no matter what people say, we need more superhero projects that represent massive cultures to have amazing lighthearted success stories now more than ever. Let Blue Beetle be the beginning of this amazing trend of these incredibly important films overcoming all of the odds no matter how many people choose to immediately write it off.

Milkyverse Heroes AU

🪲Jaime Reyes (Blue Beetle)💙

Jaime Reyes was once an ordinary kid, until one day, while getting ready to get his job contract, Jenny gives the Scarab, an ancient alien biotechnologic relic that chose Jaime as its symbiotic host. Thanks to the Scarab, Jaime was granted with an armor, as well as amazing and extraordinary powers to save innocent lives, and fight bad guys.

In the Milkyverse Heroes AU, Jaime lives in Toonsville with his family, even with the Scarab. He joins the Milkyverse Heroes after one of the members offered him to join. Said member happened to watch the whole fight Jaime had with a bad, and was impresssed with his powers.

His AU design is based on Young Justice, mixed with some elements from the film. His Blue Beetle outfit is kinda similar to the film's design, but has some MegaMan.EXE and MegaMan Star Force vibes (since he reminds me of MegaMan.EXE), and for the feet, I decided to make it look like beetle feet (since he's based on a beetle). I also gave some nice gradients of blue.
