My comfort food is mashed potatoes or Mac & Cheese

Quentin's would be spam with eggs & hash and for Hersh, it's tuna casserole. But growing up on his own prior it was and still is, Ramen noodles

So sorry if that's kinda simple but it did make me think on what their favorite food/meals would be so thank you so much for the question.

Cheap boxed angel hair pasta with red sauce with powered parmsean cheese really speaks to my soul. Like that meal raised me and while as a full grown adult I don't eat it often maybe only a few times a year but damn when I do it's like a hug. Its my comfort food for real. Just shoveling processed noodles into my mouth thinking like wow life ain't so bad after all lol

I want to see characters being taken care of in an explicit and worshipful way. Home-cooked meals. Hair brushed and braided by gentle hands. Little gifts just because.

I want to read about characters who are not used to kindness being bombarded by acts of service. This trope works romantically and platonically. Give me found family and acts of service - all the ways a character is wrapped up in wordless, explicit care after years of cruelty and having no idea how to handle. I need it.

My family affectionately calls it "glop". Pound of ground beef browned in a pan (draining the excess fat as it cooks) mixed with Kraft macaroni and cheese (yes, the horrible, processed, orange not found in nature dish) and a healthy dollop of sour cream. I don't make it often, but it's one of the few things I'm okay with eating reheated, which is good, because it's about 4 meals worth of food.

The most American of comfort foods!

When I was little I used to read about Kraft macaroni and cheese and thought it sounded glamorous and exotic. And then I saw it 😁

Beef Rendang

A delectable dish from the Minangkabau ethnic group in Indonesia, beef rendang is indigenous to the country. The dish was introduced to Malaysia during the Melaka Sultanate era, when Minangkabau settlers from Sumatra moved to the southern region of the Malay peninsula.

Rendang is a curry made using slow-simmered beef that lets the flavors seep into the flesh. A recipe that takes hours to prepare on the burner. Depending on the desired result, the dish must be cooked in coconut milk with all of the spices for a specified length of time. The original recipe needs to be cooked for two to three hours minimum until dry. To ensure you have leftovers, I suggest that you make a big portion. Over the next day, the flavors and aroma intensify. Perfect with a bowl of steam rice and your veggies of choice.

FYI: Rendang, creating it from scratch may seem difficult or time-consuming to someone who works. You can take a shortcut by using Rendang paste. This will shorten the preparation period.
