So, let's take canon Danny Phantom. We can even take the AGIT, that would only make him canonically 16-17is for this scenario. (Btw, poor Val. I'm seriously so sorry for her)

Danny is flying around the Infinite Realms to familiarise himself with it better. Look, if he decided to be the Bridge, he has to learn more about the Ghost side of his life. Their customs, quirks, limits, world... from someone who isn't a Fruitloop or his parents. He is still ashamed that it took meeting Dairy King to finally realise that not all Ghosts are evil.

He got to a section of many, many, MANY, natural portals that led into completely different universes. Most of them even had Heroes!!!! He was so exited!

He visited many in the next few months. Made friends, confused the heck out of locals. Made some enemies, cause that's just his life.

Spiderman was cool! Iron Man was so fun to prank, the guy was a billionaire and hilarious.

Even if he never was able to speak with the vast majority, those Japanese Heroes with cool superpowers were awesome. He was kinda glad his world was normal-is tho. Call him judgmental, but come on, look him in the eyes and tell him that you wouldn't be weirded out by some of the mutations.

And now, he spotted his new target. From what he gathered, they were an urban legend of the gloomy as heck city. Robins,... bats? or something. Time to make friends!

And close the leakage of the Raw, unfiltered ectoplasm into here. He had only been around one for an hour and he saw how problematic it was.

Aka

Danny is a gremlin in canon. He found cool portals. He will make it other's problem.

Yes, he keeps his identity hidden. No, he doesn't stay invisible all the time. Only initially to get some info. After that? You'd spot him openly bothering the superheroes. And rogues. Can't let them be left out.

What are they gonna do? Kill him? They can't even touch him most of the time.

So just after episode 5 and 6 came out I made a post noting the apparent continuity error between Simon Petrikov first identifying himself as studying to be an antiquarian

But in all other cases as just being an antiquarian

Not because I was trying, like, to call-out a minor flub in the internal timeline of Simon's character - but because every in-universe explanation you can use to justify this discrepancy is just both plausibly in-character enough that I can buy it and absolutely hilarious.

Either Simon Petrikov has managed to finish his degree after the Curse of the Magic Crown had started to tear away at his sanity - or he's just causally smoothing over the details that he never finished his degree, cause like, who could ever fact-check him?

(Or my personal favorite, a combination of the two. Simon was powering through finishing his degree despite the Crown eating away at his sanity and his life falling apart and then like five days before he was done - the whole University blew up in thermo-nuclear-magical-Armageddon. So now he's like "screw it!! I did my goddam best, I'm giving myself a degree!!")

But, weeeelll, then the episode 'Jerry' came out and pretty undeniably established that Simon Petrikov does have a Phd.

Like, I don't think Simon is willing or capable of getting away with Academic Fraud in this pre-war university as he does in the Land of Ooo.

So... on one hand you can keep these same previous theories going if you just assume Simon is the kind of guy so reluctant to leave Academia he just keeps... collecting degrees, and 'studying to be an antiquarian' is Over-Achiever Nerd Code for 'going for my third doctorate' or something.

Or on the other hand you can go with something on a similar vain to the fandom's go-to explanation to the other Holly Jolly Secrets Discrepancy with later-establish Simon and Betty stuff

Was one of the first serious mental effects of the Magic Crown's Curse and Madness over Simon's mind is that it made him forget that he already graduated?

i think its always worth thinking about how women are portrayed in certain stories, from fictional narratives to reddit posts presenting themselves as true stories. is every woman in the narrative either antagonistic or shallow? are most or all of the men portrayed as sympathetic and competent, moreso than the women, even if they commit the same crimes?

#i read reddit stories bc i love rotting my brain apparently and this is SO constant in those #one literally ended like ''i have concluded that i cant trust women bc theyre all lying cunts unlike the men who helped me here''#and the comments were like ''wow.... makes you think....''#like wc is a good litmus test. why are only the women in crookedstar's story held accountable while the men in power are shrugged off #why do all of the women get twisted into shrill harpies for nightheart's arc while all the men who commit the same pressure on him #get idealized and held up as fantastic and awesome and sympathetic #why is the man in this story calm and collected while being horrible while the woman is hysterical and emotional and loud #how come the fat woman in hh is seen as annoying and terrible and a danger to their cause bc ''she brought danger to them''#while the snake guy outright attacks the place twice and tries to hurt them but is an uwu cinnamon roll who deserves a chance #echoed voice #like... an antagonistic woman isnt a bad thing. women can be horrible irl. absolutely but its important to try and see when this is a patte #pattern #when theres just straight up a double standard

He absolutely does! And will also whip them out with little to no provocation, to show off all the photos he has of: Dipper being grumpy. Dipper being annoyed. Bill, with Dipper in a headlock. Dipper panicking after setting something on fire that he should definitely not have. Surreptitiously taken photos of Dipper in compromising positions.

They're sentimental, obviously - but also a great tool for annoying the hell out of other people/demons when Bill feels like being obnoxious. Which is often.

I didn’t have time to draw something for Halloween, so here’s this old drawing I did a while ago of Meta Knight as Captain Picard/Locutus of Borg from Star Trek: The Next Generation that I feel somewhat fits the Halloween theme. I call him Locutus of Borb.

#Kirby #Kirby fanart #my art #Meta Knight #I don’t think this looks very good this was one of my first Kirby drawings and I was still figuring out how to draw everyone #I’ll probably redraw this eventually but still wanted to share this since I didn’t have time to draw anything for Halloween #aside from being a Kirby fan I’m also a big fan of Star Trek I’ve seen all the shows and movies #and I see a lot of parallels between Star Trek and Kirby #literally the whole plot of Planet Robobot is just the Borg storyline in Star Trek lol #for Kirby fans who don’t follow Star Trek the Borg are a collective of cyborgs that can essentially mechanize other species #they appear as recurring antagonists and attempt to assimilate other species into their collective against their will #and once they’ve assimilated a person they can influence that person to do their bidding #in The Next Generation they assimilate Captain Picard and turn him into Locutus of Borg so they can use him to try and assimilate Earth #it reminded me a lot of what Susie did to Meta Knight in Planet Robobot so that’s where the idea for this drawing came from #I’ll have to draw more Star Trek and Kirby crossover stuff there’s a lot I can work with for crossovers lol #like Star Trek straight up has a mirror universe full of evil versions of the characters that’s literally just Amazing Mirror #and the episode of the anime where Dedede gets the Scarfies as pets is basically just the Tribble episode from Star Trek #anyways happy Halloween please enjoy Locutus of Borb

Julieta squints at her brother. There’s sauce in the corner of his mouth, and his belly seems just a bit too round—beneath a shirt which may or may not have crumbs on it.

She pokes him in the stomach. “Then what’s in here?”

“...Love?” Bruno offers, throwing her a winning grin. He gets a look in return: cocked eyebrow, folded arms; lips pressed together in an unmistakable effort not to smile back.

“Well. True as that may be,” Julieta says at last, as she prods those pudgy sides some more and begins to steer Bruno in the direction of the kitchen. “You’re coming with me to help replace my mysteriously vanished tamales.”

also i've long been so particular about the amount of times i would post and how it would clutter up my archive bc i do like using the archive as a tool to look back on things. i have not had a day where my queue has been empty for the last 8 years! idk i'm being so particular about this long built in system i have that i'm wondering why i'm making this feel like such a chore 🤧

you know. it is genuinely insane that we've somehow ended up in a culture that treats the human body as inextricably tied to sex and therefore filled with sin, and also, if it's not very beautiful, unspeakably gross and a crime to inflict the sight of upon others, and then this same culture turns around and says 'okay if you wanna go swimming you gotta get pretty much naked :)'

#I love turning tumblr into my personal diary knowing this will probably just get buried in the annels of my blog #I’m sure that’s not how you spell that but wtv #anyways grrrr I love men I love figuring out my type #I’ve dated three guys who all coincidentally happen to be relatively tall skinny athletic types #not an intended pattern btw it just happened like that #but now I am experiencing the true joy of variety #gahhhh I love body fat I love guys with body fat I am sick in the head for men who are squishy and have tummies and ass #it’s not my fault that kinda guy just happens to be the center snare in drumline it’s the curse of band kid I guess #holy shit I need to stop dating people in my band actually Jesus Christ it’s two already. see but like or I could collect the set #and go for all different instruments or categories #I’ve got brass (trombone) and woodwind (tenor sax) down #so like percussion?? mayhaps #our drumline is exclusively made up of three types of people for some reason #a) every girl is legit cool a bit masc and definitely gay (I know two personally and a third that fits the bill) and very skilled #b) very much oddball types who nobody in the band gets along with because they actively make people uncomfortable (hard to describe)#c) most grey-sweatpants straight guy you’ve ever seen who just happens to be reserved n semiattractive. looking at two of them in particula #(section leader and center snare specifically) third category hits hard #not my fault the center snare is stupid pretty and reserved and kinda squishy <- on the floor drooling #and like. a good snare #idk what happened to me but as soon as I became a musician people being able to play well became VERY attractive to me #curse of band kid once again #I’m genetically predisposed to it it’s fine <- raised by two divorced music majors #in particular an alto sax and the center snare are two guys that stick as me having a moment of like oh wow they’re *good*. haha that’s hot #alto sax is a killer jazz player and I’m psyched I get to trio with him and one of the drumline girls (my favorite tgirl fr)#although they’re both way better than I am so I’m really the weak link here #which is a hard asf sell given that they want me on bass <- I am a decent-to-mid rhythm guitarist at best #but wtv. everything I do I do for jazz #the most personal information I will likely ever admit to (I am lying I will vaguely yap about myself all day long)
