First sewing project ✅

It’s a top!!! Pretty cute right? No!😡

The problem with it is that it’s not made out of clothing fabrics so it doesn’t fit very well and it turned out veryy revealing sadly. I made the halter neck too long. Oh well I’ve gotten a lot of experience from this and it’s a good first try for not having a pattern to follow. 🪡 🎀 🧵 🪡

(Also look at me doing the little coquette clothing haul scrunch on the sides of the top lmao😭)

During this project I’ve learned how to sew buttonholes!!!!!! lol I always misread that word. When you sew buttonholes you use a special presserfoot. The picture in the middle are practice buttonholes. 🪡💕

That’s all!!! I’m hoping to actually find some sewing patterns soon as this was a bit of a struggle but other than that I did alright!!!😊

Also ignore how deathly pale I am!!!! Geez lol😅

Hey can we stop acting like every person who buys from Fast Fashion sites and store are horrible people?? I understand the issues that can come from it but when you're broke and need clothes, sometimes it's all you can afford.

The issue lies in big influencers doing $500 Shein hauls and wasting it all, NOT that person working three jobs that just wants something to wear that won't break the bank (and still looks nice)

Tldr; Stop blaming poor people who are victims of capitalism for needing to participate in capitalism to survive. Thanks.

Leggings - Lululemon

Black dress, black skirt, and green skirt - Forever 21

Top and belts - Goodwill, but the top is originally from Charlotte Russe and the bottom belt is Levi's. Idk about the star belt, which sucks because it's my favorite thing in this haul

Shorts - Nike

White corduroys, grey top, and grey hoodie - Target

So...why does it seem like your fast fashion clothes from 10+ years ago are so much better than they are now? I wrote about why for Vox:

There's so much I wanted to fit in here, but couldn't. Mainly, my point here is that things like climate change, covid, and the speed of consumerism (aka haul buys and/or replacing something that could be repaired) has incentivized companies to cut corners. The result is just more and more and more stuff — but at the cost of quality.
