If we're honest with ourselves for about five seconds: Gally is stronger than Minho
Don't get me wrong, spending every day in the Maze, running from Grievers (it's my headcanon that Grievers come out during the day, but only Sting at night), memorizing walls and building pattern recognition, and essentially risking your life every day definitely gives Minho the advantage. If it came down to a fight, Minho would win
but by pure muscle, Gally has it over Minho. That boy does nothing but run all day (which burns and uses up muscle like crazy; just search up any long-distance running athlete ever), meanwhile Gally is lifting pillars, handling wood beams, hammering nails, managing cinder blocks...
In fact, during the earlier days of the Glade, Gally would taunt Minho about this all the time.
It led to Minho deciding to be a Builder too. He still Runs every day, but at night, when he came back, he'd force himself to work the entire evening as a Builder. Just to shut Gally up.
He was eventually forced to stop by Alby, who didn't want his best Runner dying in the Maze because he was so exhausted from the double jobs (and who was also just concerned about his friend overworking himself), but those few weeks when Minho was a Builder were blessed silence from Gally, who, for once, had nothing to taunt him on.

33 for the ask game but answer it in prose/in character >:}
OHOOHOH. OHOHOHOHOOH. OHOHOHOHOHOHOHO.
So . . . . since Serana is the only person that spends enough time, er. Staring? At Vigdis. And being around her generally in prose. So! I thought it would be fun to compile all of favourite times Serana describes Vigdis . . . because surely there's an interesting evolution to be found in them. [Apologies in advance; it's quite long!! And I forgot to put a cut. Oops.]
✑ If applicable, how would your other characters describe them? I mean specifically the people around them.
Bright, icy blue irises set in a messy constellation of freckles stared back at her. Red lashes framed hard eyes that sat on rosy cheeks under bushy red brows. Curly red hair twisted and twirled down from her head, sporadically braided, and slightly frizzy from the rain. A subtle aquiline nose protruded from her face with a long bridge and small nostrils. Her thin pink lips pouted into a strong, natural frown and accentuated several small scars cut across her chin and cheek and neck . . . [Petrichor, Chapter IX, One Condition ] Serana relaxed as her mind wandered far away. Icy blue eyes melted into a lake that glittered under the afternoon sun. Freckled skin glowed under the warm rays, loose fiery hair curled down her bare back. Scars covered nearly every surface; faded lacerations, old burns, small bright cuts. Her shoulders were broad and square, her torso long and tall. Swaths of thin red hair blanketed her legs, her arms, and a trail blazed from her belly button down to her bushy curls . . . [Petrichor, Chapter XI, The Moth Priest] Serana glanced at Vigdis again. The hunter scrubbed at her freckled and scarred skin with a piece of moss, her fiery curls weighed down with water and pulled away from her rosy face. Droplets slid down every aspect of her sharp features, from her nose to her cheeks to her lips. Here in the misty spring, she looked more relaxed than ever as her icy eyes fell behind her eyelids and rested her head against the earthy edge behind her. The water rippled, but it did little to hide the toned body that lurked beneath. [...] Serana’s persimmon gaze trailed down the hunter’s freckled back and noticed even more scars. When Vigdis paused to swipe off more of the drops, the vampire frowned when she saw her wrists—scars upon scars, new and old. From the way they crisscrossed and dragged, Serana guessed that she carelessly guarded attacks with her wrist, as if it were a shield. Her eyes flickered to Vigdis’ back again, and slowly traced the soft curves of her waist, the sharp dips of her hips . . . [Petrichor, Chapter XVI, The Unseen Glade] Strong hands clutched her arms and jerked her back. Serana whipped around, the dagger still in her hand—only to face familiar ice-blue eyes that stared at her. As she took in the expression before her, the sun prickled at her skin; a breeze ghosted through her dark hair and brushed her damp cheeks. Vigdis’ faint scent drifted to Serana’s nose—sweat, blood, earth, and rain swelled in her lungs. The smell was unmistakable; it belonged, undoubtedly, to the red-haired hunter, who was real and alive, whose warm hands wrapped so firmly around her arms that it hurt, whose icy eyes burned amongst the constellations of her freckles. [Petrichor, Chapter XIX, Cascade] With a quiet huff through her nose, Serana focused on Vigdis’ features: her fiery, curly red hair; her thick, bushy red brows; her intense, ice-blue irises; her aquiline nose; her rosy cheeks; her thin, naturally pouty pink lips; her strong chin and sharp jaw; her freckles that splashed across her face like paint in endless constellations; her faded scars that cut across her cheek and chin. [...] The vampire, with her legs pulled to her chest and her chin on her knees, stared idly into the cinders. The faint pulse of Vigdis’ heart pooled just beneath her ear, a soft and languid lull. Her rainy, earthy scent was a hazy fog—its smoky tendrils shrouded Serana’s thoughts, buried her in a dreamy trance of freckles and scars and ice-blue irises and blood on her tongue— [Petrichor, Chapter XXV, A Clan Once Divided]

Find Words Tag Game
Thank you so much for this fun tag @sam-glade <3
Soft tags: @sleepyowlwrites @mjparkerwriting @mariahwritesstuff @lexiklecksi @pumpkinsplots and an open tag
Your words are: sleep, pencil/pen, plant, green, succumb
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Words given to me were: sneak, sand, soft, silent.
Sneak (sneak out)
Seeing how invested Márgerdra was in the files and notes, Wukong focused on the bed in the centre of the room. Upon his closer inspection, the recesses were truly nothing more but an art. To make sure nothing escaped his attention, the Sage even stood up on the bed to inspect the canopy itself. Yet apart from a thin layer of dust he found nothing. He was prepared to call on his mates and sneak out when all of a sudden Márgerdra was the one to call him,“Wukong? I guess I found something. Could you lend me a hand, though?“ “Sure thing.“ Wukong approached the black table. The incense hit his nose so hard it made him cringe.
Sand
“Gentlemen, I couldn’t wait to see you!“ The witch opened her arms welcomingly, at the same time she kept her voice low so as not to startle the sleeping monk, the heiress and the sand demon. She was gently caressing the elephant who seemed to relax under her touch. Under the pale moonlight, it was clearly visible how her torn dress lost its vibrant shade, the mud coloured the ragged silk with strange brown stains. Despite the advisor being a sorry sight, her strangely shaped face never let itself be subdued by a sole wrinkle.
Soft
“You’re not going to brush my hair, right?“ Márgerdra bulged her eyes. “Don’t worry,“ he sat right behind her and unfolded the scroll in front of them,“I know your hair’s important to you. I would never lay a finger on it. Not without your permission.“ His soft breath tickled her ear. Numbness was slowly leaving her body as he lightly pressed his form against hers. “In that case, what’s on your mind?“ A moderate candle lit by her left. “I’ll show you the basics of writing and reading. So the next time I leave you a note, you’ll know what it’s all about.“
Silent
Once she saw she could be on her own at last, Márgerdra’s wobbling legs took her closer to the river. She kept her gaze on the ground. Because of her absent mind she didn’t notice the silent demon who in addition closed his eyes for a few moments. Both residing in their own worlds, Márgerdra accidentally stepped on the tip of Wukong’s tail, the sharp pain brought him back to his senses. He was prepared to shout again, to curse like a sailor but thinking further he only let out a silent painful howl. Looking up, he saw panicking Márgerdra. At first, Wukong clenched his right fist but then he let it down and patted the ground next to his spot. The witch obeyed and took the offered place. For an eternity, perhaps, they were watching the empty distance, the nature so full of life yet so dull for them. Motionless, wordless, emotionless. Two fires turned into ash and cinder.

The queen has spoken now I have to write it
@quiddie this is for you
They went to help Pernacus clear out his tower. It wasn’t particularly interesting business— refugees filed out much the way they came, trudging up the arm of the great mountain with new hope in their eyes. She sang with Lucient’s harp to lead them along, Mossbrow and Vatra somewhere behind. By the time the floors were empty and their tabaxi friend was fussing over the kitchen, Hareth had disappeared.
She grins as Vatra makes regretful sounds. Girl had to secure the bag. She didn’t even say goodbye.
Lucient is sighing, talking about checking the state of his new propagandist songs that were spread before their fight with Glycinder. He looks so tired, even after she’d healed all of them. The broken black string on his harp still hangs broken, loose as he stores it back into its case to leave.
He shakes Pernacus’ hand, touches Mossbrow’s arm, ruffles Vatra’s hair, and is gone. There’s a nod towards her too, some words she can’t remember anymore. Her hand brushes the unused rapier. What will happen to its broken sister, made of the same stone? Will you throw her away? Will you sing songs of me with the strings that are left?
They stay for a night, resting and recovering. Around a table of excellent tea that she’s sure only Pernacus and her are properly appreciating, they talk the next day about the things that happened. Their host scratches at his chin, speaking of plans to conceal the tower with further magical means. Now that hundreds of people and two gods had been around, it made sense to get on that. You don’t want to see us again?
When the afternoon rolls around, Pernacus starts serving in reverse order. She couldn’t even blame him, really; she’d watched as his shoulders get tenser through the day as they’d had to cast dozens of mendings under Kevin and Mossbrow’s feet. Making up some excuse, she herds the two out into the wilderness without explaining all the pesky social cues.
“I’m going to go help,” Vatra announces, looking off towards where the mountain had left yesterday, “I promised Orinda.” She resists the urge to roll her eyes until the girl had already bounded off. The feeling of the warmest hug lingered around her waist, the smell of cinders and trees in the halfling’s hair fading with her steps. You don’t have to feel guilty. Stay, I will love you no matter what.
“Well. Just me and you, buddy. Why don’t you show me your glade? Maybe I’ll try reconnecting with my spiritual side.”
“Of course, I’d be happy to, Timpani.”
A voice like grinding rocks and shifting roots shouldn’t be so comforting. She has to convince him to fly some of the way and not walk the full three days of travel, but along the way she perches on the flat stone of his head and makes sure none of the water spills.
“Oh, thank you Timpani. The birds will be so grateful.”
She snickers, not really caring about the birds at all.
“They better be.”
When they get there, she doesn’t know what she expected. There are two patches of naked dirt, perfect grooves for Mossbrow’s feet. He steps into them like they were made for him, and points out the chickadees he’d mentioned in a nearby tree. There’s quiet after she makes the appropriate sounds of interest. When she turns to look, her friend is a statue.
Made of menhirs and wood and vines more than reclaimed armour, her friend is a beautiful carving standing guard in the woods. He speaks to her without moving until the conversation peters off. Of course, he’d never had to move to speak before. But in this space it’s so blatant that it makes her feel stupid to address him. Please don’t make me lonely while you’re right there. Please don’t make me lonely when you’re only doing what makes you happy.
On the second day she makes up songs, deliberately grating and off-key to see what he’ll say. When he still stands inert, she sings so beautifully the gods are sure to listen. The whole time she looks off into the trees, waiting for the sound of familiar grinding stone as deer and birds stop to be her audience.
On the third day, she leaves long enough to gather an orgy on the grassy meadow around him. She even makes sure she isn’t drunk for it. A dwarf gets on the flat of Mossbrow’s head and performs acts that would make sailors blush, and she only just manages not to make eye contact with the dull holes of his eyes. Then she pulls in the next handsome human, her own golden eyes bright as she turns away from the silence.
She wakes in the morning to the sound of birds. Above where she laid unmoving with strangers, the family of chickadees splashed and bathed in the pool on Mossbrow’s head. When they fly away, she gets up and heads back to the capital.
People welcome her with gold and pretty things, and she smiles as sharp as her rapier. Worship tastes heavenly, and she drinks it down with wine. Her hair grows heavy with shiny gifts, she walks tall and relishes in all that she’s long deserved. Sometimes she returns to the woods. Always with an entourage of willing participants to make merry in the night, and if it's near the glade that’s only a coincidence.
The day she opens her eyes to Vatra, it’s the most natural thing in the world to touch her cheeks, to kiss away her uncertainty. Let’s feel sure again, my once and always friend.

Game 5 - Band of Blades
This one is going to be a little bit different. Since this game is very much based around the idea of a unit. More than a unit, this game focuses on the idea of a full company of storied mercenaries.
The idea is that recently a terrible being known as the Cinder King appeared and raised an army of undead. The gods Chose a champion to bring down this threat, but that Chosen was Broken and became the first of several such lieutenants to this monster. Your Legion was part of an offensive seeking to destroy the Cinder King but things went badly and now they are in retreat with the undead at their heels, and a fraction of their former numbers.
And there will be a two variations of the Gorgon Archer here. One of them is going to be one of the leaders of the Legion and one will be either a soldier or a specialist.
Band is a bit unusual in that it combines a campaign premise with the core rules. So instead of generalized setting leaving the GM to create the scenario, this comes with a set scenario. There is a chapter on adapting the game to different genres or scenario, but the assumption is that the fighting retreat is the one that will be used.
Okay, the game does make some statements about the world, namely in the type of people available.
Tumblr media
That would seem to be a case where I'd have to do an epitet rather than a legitimate gorgon here, and we honestly can't do a full on gorgon but we can do a person with serpentine features because of one of the traits available to someone from one of the heritages:
Tumblr media
Also note that the game assumes the use of rifles rather than bows. And that's fine, I've made that substitution in the past on the earlier incarnation of this blog.
Each character chooses two traits for their heritage, so we can definitely take Marked as one of the traits for a Panyar individual.
Now, there are five Legion roles, three required and two optional. This means that the the game should have at least 4 players: the GM and the three Legion players. And can have as many as 6: the GM and five Legion players.
The required roles are:
Commander - Chooses the missions. Tracks Time and Pressure.
Marshall - Chooses who to send on missions, Tracks XP.
Quartermaster - Chooses campaign actions. Tracks Supply.
The optional roles are:
Lorekeeper - Chooses tales to tell. Tracks dead legionnaires.
Spymaster - Deploys spies. Builds spy network.
I'm going to choose one of the required roles for the gorgon archer and for the soldier version, I'm going to start with a Rookie and proceed with her through Soldier and Specialist.
Legionnaire Gorgon
Character creation is summarized as follows:
Tumblr media
Step One
We've chosen our Playbook: Rookie so let's go to that and hit Step Two.
Step Two
First let's choose our Rookie Special Ability, there are some very interesting ones, but I think I'm going to go with "Every Inch a..."
Tumblr media
Step 3... sort of
This means that we kind of skip step 3 because... well, our character just gets ALL the heritage traits.
Tumblr media
+1 means "add one die". The way this system works out is that you roll a number of dice equal to the relevant action or Attribute, plus any benefits such as those from special abilities or heritage traits.
Step 4
Now we come to step 4, assigning Actions and Attributes.
As a rookie, our character gets three points right off the bat:
Tumblr media
And then we can 4 dots to the remaining shared Actions (not the Specialist Actions.
In this case, we're going to add 1 to Scout, 1 to Rig, and 2 to Shoot
The Attributes: Insight, Prowess, and Resolve are equal to the number of actions with dots in the first row, ie, the number of Actions that the character has any stats in.
So, our completed character looks like this:
Azure Dancing Glade: Rookie
Insight: 2
Rig: 1
Scout: 1
Prowess: 3
Maneuver: 1
Shoot: 2
Skirmish: 1
Resolve: 1
Consort: 1
Abilities
Every Inch a..: You start with all the traits from your heritage. If taken as a Veteran advance, it must be the first ability selected during character creation.
Heritage Traits
Artisan: Rig can advance to 4
Traveler: In normal load you’re considered fast and quiet, as if you had equipped a light load. This may make a difference in position or effect when running, jumping, climbing, (maneuvering), or sneaking (scouting).
Shrewd: When you resist with insight, take +1d.
Marked: When you resist corruption, take +2d.
Look: Scaled skin and snake eyes, long braided, wild hair.
When you play a Rookie, you earn xp when you stay out of the way and survive despite the odds. Every squad member is a Rookie until they earn their stripes and are promoted to Soldier.
Promotion to Soldier
The first playbook advance a Rookie every gets is to be promoted to Soldier. At which point she will gain one rank in the Soldier special Action: Grit and one special ability from the Soldier list. However, I'm concerned by the Resolve being a bit low, so let's assume she advances her Resolve a couple of times before advancing her playbook into soldier.
In this case I'd look at this one:
Iron Will: You can spend grit as special armor vs. fear, paralysis, corruption, and fatigue.
And the end result will look like this:
Azure Dancing Glade: Soldier
Insight: 3
Grit: 1
Rig: 1
Scout: 1
Prowess: 3
Maneuver: 1
Shoot: 2
Skirmish: 1
Resolve: 3
Consort: 1
Discipline: 1
Marshal: 1
Abilities
Every Inch a..: You start with all the traits from your heritage. If taken as a Veteran advance, it must be the first ability selected during character creation.
Not a Rookie Anymore: Promote to Soldier.
Iron Will: You can spend grit as special armor vs fear, paralysis, corruption, and fatigue.
When you play a Soldier, you earn xp when you help your squad through courage or determination. Whatever the cost, you are there to finish the mission and bring recognition to your squad.
Second Promotion
Now, promotion is done by taking a special ability. Each character can get up to two "Veteran Abilities", acquired via experience. Rookie abilities and starting abilities don't count against this limit, so they will end up with four special abilities (assuming they live that long.)
So if, in the course of leveling up, this character were to take two more Soldier abilities, then they will be a Soldier for-ever. In this case I'm going to assume that they'll head for a Specialist ability as soon as they can rather than taking a second Soldier ability.
There are five specialists in the base game (with Mercy and Alchemist added later). As the focus is on "Archer" I'm considering Sniper first and foremost, but Scout and Officer are both possible... actually, given one of my most memorable XCom runs was with a Sniper who had medic abilities (Training Roulette) that kinda puts Medic on there as well.
But, I think I'm going to keep this simple and go for Sniper.
Now, she would have to reach the basic actions of a Sniper, which would be Scout 1 and Shoot 2... which we already have, so that doesn't have to be advanced. But I would still move to increases some of their Actions/Attributes as well.
There is a cap: 6 Abilities and 20 points of Actions, hitting either of these would mean that the character can no longer promote.
Currently Glade here is running at:
Abilities: 3
Actions: 10
I'm going to assume she'll go for Sniper right away as her next Advance. With that I will take one of the "Standard Abilities" available to each specialist and soldier. In this case: Elite
Elite: Gain mastery of two actions (up to rank 4).
In this case it will be Scout and Shoot
It will look like this:
Azure Dancing Glade: Sniper
Insight: 3
Aim: 1
Rig: 1
Scout: 1
Prowess: 3
Maneuver: 1
Shoot: 2
Skirmish: 1
Resolve: 3
Consort: 1
Discipline: 1
Marshal: 1
Specialist:
Grit: 1
Specialist Training: You can promote to a Specialist (Heavy, Medic, Officer, Scout, or Sniper). Make a new playbook: mark one special ability of the appropriate type and a rank of the starting Specialist action.
Elite: Gain Mastery of Shoot and Scout.
When you play a Sniper, you earn xp when you help your squad with keen observation or key shots. Somewhere on the field of battle is the foul mind directing these troops, and a bullet of Black Shot is the cure.
On to Champion
Now, I'm going to go ahead and push this character to Champion status and max out her stats. This will be with one more special ability and a total of 19 Action points, since she will max out once she hits her next special ability.
The game says it is rare to see a character hit Champion in a single campaign, and given how lethal the game feels from reading the rules, that makes it doubly unlikely that someone will survive to hit this level.
As a note, the maximum of 6 Special Abilities accounts for the Rookie and Soldier abilities that purely function as gateways for the change in playbooks. If a character starts as a Soldier, they'll end up with 5 special abilities when they hit their maximum of 2 Veteran abilities. And if they start as a Specialist, they'll max out at 3 Special Abilities since they won't have the starting Soldier one or the starting Rookie one.
Azure Dancing Glade: Champion Sniper
Insight: 3
Aim: 2
Rig: 1
Scout: 4
Prowess: 4
Maneuver: 1
Shoot: 4
Skirmish: 1
Wreck: 1
Resolve: 3
Consort: 1
Discipline: 1
Marshal: 1
Specialist:
Grit: 2
Abilities

Look: Scaled skin and snake eyes, long braided, wild hair.
When you play a Sniper, you earn xp when you help your squad with keen observation or key shots. Somewhere on the field of battle is the foul mind directing these troops, and a bullet of Black Shot is the cure.
From this point on, Glade here can't gain anymore XP.
Leadership Gorgon
And from here, we move on to creating our Leader gorgon archer. In this case, we're going to go for the Quartermaster, and have an archer who was a scout that moved from gaining food up to managing the supplies for The Legion as a whole.
As this role isn't one that acts on the tactical level, they don't really have special abilities, so this comes down to a look.
Russet Growing Weald

Reputation: Prepared
Personality: Kind, Resourceful
Look: Scaled, Colorful, Scruffy
Closing Thoughts
Haven't done this before in this new incarnation of this blog, but this is a new game, so adding to this.
This game feels a bit like it treads the line between board game and TTRPG. Most of the time I see games like this, they come to this region from the direction of board games. Descent is a good example of such a game, or Touch of Evil. Band of Blades is very much a TTRPG, but the very set scenario is probably what gives me the idea.
Also, the game seems aimed at short-term campaigns: a few months. By comparison, Monster of the Week, Fate, and D&D 5e are more aimed at a mid-length campaign (1-3 years), with a lot of classic TTRPGs, including Hero and older editions of D&D, being aimed toward long-term campaigns (in the neighborhood of a decade or more).
It's an interesting thing and, to be honest, a concept I was toying with for a bit. In fact, my first MotW campaign was originally going to be X-Com themed. I see a lot of the X-Com DNA in this game and it is listed as one of the inspirations so it's great to see someone took this idea and ran with it this far.

Sapphire almost grinned as she watched Aro carry a flailing Sitri into the dorm and set her down on the bed. “Now that you’re here, we can start.”
Sitri pouted as she sat down, crossing her arms. “I was busy!”
“Busy with what, staring at Cinder?” Aro moved to take a seat near Xanthic, smirking at Sitri. “You know, if you want her attention-”
“I do not like Cinder!”
“Children…” Sapphire muttered under her breath, trying to keep others from hearing her. She noticed Aro glancing in her direction, quickly clearing her throat. “As you know, the dance is tonight which means its the perfect opportunity to start figuring out just what Ozpin is planning.”
“And how do you suppose we do that?” asked Xan. “Even though he’s the headmaster, I doubt he’ll end up going to a student run dance.”
“He probably wont, however, he’ll still have his plans somewhere. And I’m sure your… talents… will be of use to get us what we need.” Salem pulled out her scroll and started fumbling with it for a moment before using a bit of magic to bring up a model of Beacon. “With his office here in the tower, and the dance-” she pointed to the two places respectively. “-it’ll give us enough time-”
“Actually, I think I have a better idea.” Xanthic got up and grabbed a holographic projector from her desk, tossing it to the ground and turning it on. An image of Penny came to life with the hard light dust projection, the words P.E.N.N.Y Project circling around underneath her. “This is Penny.”
Sapphire gave a slight glare to the image, annoyed with what she was looking at. This false humanity never ceased to surprise her with the lengths they’d go in order to stop her, but Ironwood creating a machine to seem human, a weapon that could take the maiden powers and attempt to use them against her… she hated that even she thought it was clever. “And… what exactly is your plan?”
“I did some digging and found Penny is a top secret project that General Ironwood has been working on. And I’m willing to bet that even Ozpin doesnt know what she is.” Xan waved her hand, using a glove she designed to move the projection to show Penny’s inner workings. “Now, Penny is connected to both the Atlas and Vale networks while she’s here. And since she has her own access point, I could use that to “extract” whatever information we need about Ozpin.”
Sitri rolled her eyes a bit. “Why cant we just enjoy the dance like everyone else will? Besides, who cares what Ozpin is up to? He’s a headmaster to a hunter’s academy, not a dictator to a kingdom.”
Aro paused for a moment .”Sitri… does have a point. If anything, we should be doing something about Ironwood. He’s the one who’s practically in charge of a kingdom that continues to flaunt wealth and power over anyone they see as lesser.”
Sapphire let out a sigh, watching Xan move through Penny’s plans. Aro had a point, that right now, no one else on her team had anything against Ozpin. At least, not like they had with Ironwood. A wicked grin crossed her face as a new plan started to form, one that could get her team further on her side. “Then we strike Ironwood while he’s here.”
Aro let out a laugh. “Right, like we can just attack him-”
“Xanthic, when we were looking for Blake a few months ago, you said that you could get into Penny’s access point, right?”
Xan nodded, grabbing her projector and turning it off. “Yeah, it’s simple enough.”
“Think you can use her as a distraction while you pull everything you need from her?”
“I can manage that.”
“Great.” Sapphire stood up and walked to the closet, pulling out a few dresses. “Now we just need to figure out what we need to wear for the dance. Just to keep up appearances.”
Xan rolled her eyes. “As long as I’m not wearing a dress, I’ll be fine.”
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xan glared at Sapphire, adjusting the straps to the dress she wore. “When we are finished here, I’m going to kill you.”
“And you look fantastic in it,” replied Sapphire, walking into the dance with her black dress, embroidered with sapphire webbing . “Blue does wonders for your eyes.”
Xan took a few deep breaths, rolling her eyes. “I really hate her.”
Sitri giggled a bit. “She is right, you look lovely in that dress.”
Xan looked down at the cerulean colored dress she wore, not that she could actually see what color it was. She shook her head and started walking to a table, searching for access points with her eyes. “Fuck you too.”
“While you take care of your job, I’m going to the punch bowl-”
Xan grinned for a moment. “And miss your date? I dont think so.”
Sitri hesitated for a moment. “My… date?”
Xan nodded and motioned her head to Cinder. “You’re welcome.”
Sitri frowned, walking closer to Xanthic to whisper at her. “I already told you I do not like-” She paused when she felt someone tap her shoulder, immediately turning around and knocking a couple chairs over with her tail. “C-Cinder, hey…”
Cinder took a small step backwards, nervously looking towards Emerald and Mercury who seemed just as amused as Xanthic was. “I uh… got your email… but you really wanted to go on a date, you could’ve asked in person.”
Sitri glared at Xanthic as she replied. “Right, the email I sent.” She turned to face Cinder, giving a fake smile to her. “I… was nervous. But I’m glad you’re accepting.”
Xanthic watched and Cinder and Sitri held hands and walked out to the dance floor, leaning back in her chair a bit with a large grin on her face. “On second thought, if being in a dress means I get to watch this trainwreck, then its worth it.”

So Emerald Jump Long it is then?(for frog)
And also Emerald taking Yang's last name is 👌👌👌(for ship)
Haha Emerald Jump Long it is! Also like mini headcanon here for a sec. Yang thinks Emerald might be hesitant to take her name but she immediately agrees. She's not attached to her last name, she doesn't have family, but Xiao Long? Being a Xiao Long? It's being part of a family even if just in name, and it's something she gets just a touch emotional about once Yang finally coaxes the reason out of her.

I may be looking too much into this but in Cinderella 2015, when Kit and Ella first met at the glade, Kit was wearing his green coat and Ella was wearing her usual dress. That was the first time they met. At the end of the movie, Kit (as King) wears the same coat when he met with Ella. Ella, obviously, wears the same dress as before. Now, is this the costume department/movie director/fairy godmother telling us that it's them finally "meeting for the first time?" No more lies and concealed identities? Just plain ol' King Kit (lmao) and (Cinder)Ella? Because if it is, it's poetic and I love it.
