I wanted to share with you an interesting similarity between this scene from Ai No Kusabi (1992) with the final ep of iwtv, it's precisely a scene in which two (Iason & Riki) are saying goodbye to each other (both die) I honestly don't like very much the anime story but it's aesthetically perfect and the blonde character reminds me of Lestat lol

An indirect kiss, and one you can always deny (of course) which supposedly was used between queer people not in the open (though I had a hard time finding resources on that rn).
Very fittingly used in the anime (apparently ^^).
There’s also this song by Stand Atlantic, and I think the lyrics fit quite well, too:

Malleyuu Week Day 5 : Bad Idea
Reece used to smoke more back then but decided to stop. But returned because he just want to relieve some stress, but only a few times. Doing it somewhere else where no one can see
In which they are absent a few times in their nightly meetings, in which Malleus just looks around and around. Then one night they stumbled on one of their sessions, catching them red handed.
Malleus lectured them for it yet curiosity got the best of him. What a bad idea, yet it felt so good

Phase 3 (2008-2013): Dans un appartement à San Francisco, Chel est en deuil pour sa meilleure amie et garde sur elle, le porte-bonheur de 2-D (qui garde le porte-bonheur de Chel). Mais elle reçoit une lettre de la part d'un mystérieux inconnu, il dit que 2-D se fait kidnappé par Murdoc et une version cybernétique de Noodle, et ils se dirigent vers une île nommée Plastic Beach. En découvrant cette nouvelle, elle part avec Fify en moto vers le port et montent à bord d'un bateau à voile. En traversant l'océan pacifique, Chel et Fify profite du soleil et de la lune, puis ils font un appel-radio pour contacter Léa, Karen et Auk. Mais lors d'une sombre nuit de tempête, son bateau est attaqué par des pirates de l'air (qui sont ceux qui voulaient tuer elle et Noodle sur l'île flottante). Une énorme vague finit par couler le bateau et emporter Chel dans la mer. Échouée sur la plage, elle est récupérée par la version cybernétique de Noodle et emmené à l'infirmerie. Quelques heures plus tard, Chel se réveille de son coma à côté de Fify, elle découvre enfin Plastic Beach en explorant les lieux et retrouve 2-D, Murdoc, Russel (devenu géant) et la vraie Noodle.
