a message from Dyl, Jack Kennedy's voice actor

In general, unless the owner of the voice has explicitly consented to such AI usage of their voice, do not use voice AI of anyone.

The main ethical difference between something like TTS (which dsaf has a lot of) and Voice AI is 1) consent and 2) compensation for their voices being borrowed for such purposes, plus the fact that TTS is usually very obviously TTS, whereas Voice AI can very much veer into impersonation/talent theft territory with how convincing its technology has gotten.

But also, just using someone else's voice to make them convincingly say stuff you want them to say is obviously just extremely creepy and uncomfortable regardless.

Please help spread the word.
