I also think the recent ep where Mari is scolded for not improving Chloe's behavior as a class rep, is not fair. A class rep is there to be the voice for the students and act as a form of communication, not mentor or educate another child. Mari also became class rep to stop Chloe's bullying, not reform her or give her therapy. I can't believe they (the class) actually gave the class rep position to Lila, even Marinette has done so much for them, and little Miss Liar is only full of hot air. Side eye
The Class Rep thing in "Revelation" was so dumb in all aspects, like, FIRST of all-
Lila cannot seriously be bringing up that it's "undiplomatic" that they held elections without her when she wasn't even going to Francois Dupont yet, are you trying to look me in the face and tell me "Volpina" happened before FREAKING "Darkblade"?! (And obviously no one brings up this fact when she's talking nonsense)
WHY is Bustier even entertaining this garbage when there's two weeks of school left?! Like, sorry Lila, try again in high school if you can even get in with your attendance record. The only things left for the Class Rep to even do is the Student -Teacher Career Course planning which sounds super important and like a really dumb thing to suddenly hand over to two people who haven't been preparing for it in the slightest!
Marinette is running on the "Actually this is pointless, I've done great as a class president because it's actually not my job to change Chloe for the better, especially when Bustier, her parents, and Ladybug herself couldn't get her to pull her head out of her ass, so I'm going to spend my time on things that actually matter and will have results" and legit why does anyone care about "improving Chloe" when in TWO WEEKS they will be at TOTALLY DIFFERENT SCHOOLS and hopefully NEVER have to see her in person again?! Though realistically she should be running on the "we have two weeks left why are we even here" campaign.
And Lila is running on the "Chloe can change if someone just worked with her instead of spending all their time on their own romance like a selfish jerk" platform and the class eats this up just because Chloe is "willing" to be Lila's deputy. Except Lila has been hanging out with and being friends with Chloe since freaking "Penalteam"! And guess who's still an asshole despite your "influence" Lila?! OH RIGHT, YOUR NEW DEPUTY! Hell, "Adoration" JUST happened 3 episodes ago where Chloe was framing Marinette for theft! Your "influence" isn't worth SHIT to anyone paying attention!
Now, Lila's only going for the President role so she can fuck everyone over in "Confrontation", so obviously this stupid campaign was going to happen and Lila was going to win just to set up the Big Bang where Lila exposes herself. Who cares that it stretches suspension of belief past it's limits, that's just the Gold Standard when it comes to Lila schemes.
Anyway, can't wait for her grand plans as The Villain of the next arc. -_-

I'm sorry for just dumping this on you but did the subtitles of that recent episode really say the series has been going on in show for nine damn months? That's nine whole damn months of Marinette going through hell limbo and hell again just because the universe says she's has to be with some dude she's classmates with, not only that but what even did Marinette do to Chole to suffer all that mess? Honestly if I was Marinette and heard this random boy is friends with the girl who tormented me since god knows how long, just show one random act of kindness to. I would've stomped all those feelings down a drain instead of whatever this "romance" between them is.
Don‘t worry I‘ll like hearing other people‘s thoughts on the show‘s problems, so don‘t be shy and send me asks when you feel like it:)
Tbh I still haven‘t watched the episode (aside from not really feeling like it I‘m actually on holiday rn so I didn‘t have time anyway), but I‘ve heard about those 9 month several times now and just… poor Marinette.
Being in love for such a long time without any pay off really sucks. I‘ve been in a similar situation back 9th grade, but al least I didn‘t have a secret identity and a job which is all about fighting angry people on a daily basis amd having to find the big bad villain who is behind all this while my sensei has amnesia and my new sensei is useless and my crime fighting partner is being a lil bitch bc I don‘t pay him enough attention. Yeah Marinette needs therapy asap.
(Beware, the next part contains a little bible leak)
The Chloe part is really interesting and it really raises the question, what did Marinette see in Adrien when the first thing she learned about him was that he‘s friends with her bully? How is giving her an umbrella in the rain, explaining how he‘s socially awkward enough to make her fall THIS HARD for him? Also, why is his friendship with Chloe never portrayed as a bad thing? Especially those moments where Adrien defends Chloe (in which the nrrative implies being on Chloe‘s side is the morally good thing to do bc Adrien is perfect bla bla we‘ve all heard it by now), Marinette should, logically, at least be at disappointed in him. Considering that he only breaks off the friendship in 5x14 (bc now that he wants to take traumatized Marinette he‘s affected as well), Marinette should‘ve lost feelings for him a long time ago or at least given up on chasing him. (Also side note but didn‘t Adrien also end the friendship in sole crusher? Why is he doing it again? Consistency on fleek lol.) And the fact that the entire class encourages it… like how does literally nobody ever question Adrien‘s and Chloe‘s friendship? If Adrien isn‘t a bad person, why is he friends with one for so long? Despair bear is a good example where Chloe goes back to being mean to everyone and Adrien simply shruggs it off like „she‘ll never change lmao“. Ok, if you think she‘ll never change, why are you still friends with her? And why is the class just okay with that? Especially Marinette should be disturbed by this. But the narrative barely ever brings up Adrien‘s and Chloe‘s friendship, because apparently it just doesn‘t fucking matter that Marinette‘s soulmate is all good with ther tormentor. Or maybe it‘s actually a good thing bc Adrien has never made a mistake in his entire life bc he‘s just so damn perfect.
Yeah I went off there a little but really, there are more things wrong than right with so many aspects surrounding the LS and just… did the writers spend a single second thinking about… anything?

So I LOVE your Saltinette fic and I’ve gone back to it every once in a while to reread (I’ve bookmarked it obviously and tried giving multiple kudos - alas, one of AO3’s major flaws is the single kudo limit) and then see if the sequel is finished. I’m so excited to see it almost is! I broke my “don’t read unless completed for fear of being in incomplete-abandoned-hell-limbo” rule and I love it just as much as the first part!
I love how you’re addressing everything and having everyone realize their mistakes and take healthy steps forward, especially Juleka, Chloe, and Adrien!
I am a little curious - you don’t seem to be focusing on how charging Lila with fraud is affecting her and her family, and based on the trend of the fic you won’t, since it seems more about building up from loss and not getting revenge on Lila (which is completely valid and actually a nice breather from all the pure salt). But I am kind of curious about it.
If it won’t be touched on in the final chapter and won’t spoil anything (and if you’ve even thought of it), would you be willing to give me an idea of what’s happening to Lila? While the healthy moving forward IS refreshing, the little salt-gremlin in me is screeching and hoping that she won’t just get away with everything.
Regardless, I love the first fic and once the second, sequel fic is finished I’ll probably change my bookmark to the whole series rather than just the first fic. And I can’t wait!
I hope you have a lovely day! 💜
Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. We lost my mother-in-law unexpectedly in the end of October. Between all the things we need to do with her life's possessions and the holidays it's been a bit hairy here.
I'm so glad that you've enjoyed this series. It's been an important one for me; I was bullied as a kid and both my kids were bullied in their hell-hole elementary school. I'm delighted that I have proven worthy of you breaking your "only completed fics" policy, and I'm glad you're enjoying it. I should note that I posted the final chapter of "Treading in the Brackish Pool" just a bit ago, so the risk has paid off. :)
I didn't go into this with any intention of doing Lila-focused chapters. My goal with the first story was to show that leaving an unhealthy environment can be the best choice (and that it's not "letting the bad guys win"). With the second story, the goal was to show that sometimes we make choices that are damaging, that we can't always fix what we break, and sometimes we have to make our own closure. The mentions of gathering evidence and possible fraud charges, are all we're likely to see. In my head, however, I assure you that Lila is leaving Paris, getting court-ordered therapy (and a diagnosis), paying fines, and having a permanent criminal record. Thanks for your patience. So glad you've been enjoying this!

This is going to be slightly out of order because the episodes released later than a few I've already written about? 🤷‍♀️🤔
MLB season 5 Migration:
Love that my boy Luka is in the thumbnail
You better pay Luka for the therapy sessions he gives you guys🤦‍♀️
Luka is the single person who keeps everything and everyone together
I did scream at the screen, that they should read the contract and I was right
I guess Luka can't keep the secret for long anymore
He's so fed up with them not getting a hint
So no more Luka😢 (he does deserve a break tho)
Derision:
Someone's going to have a breakdown
REALLY?!! Wrong time Gabe!
Omg, Chloe is even more evil than I thought. I didn't think that was a possibility
Omg she had a crush on Kim
This actually explains soo much about Marinette
Sooo close
Intuition:
Natalie, don't help him. I thought we made progress
Actually it makes sense that he tried using Second Chance multiple times and we didn't notice
Natalie: make arrangements and spend time with your son
Gabriel: How about I plan a new scheme to get the miraculous
(Alternatively) Gabriel: How about I speedrun declining physical health
Wtf? Is this what happens when you somehow program emotions into an AI?
Is ZAG trying to tell us something about AI?
As we can see here again Second Chance is very difficult to get right
Poor Natalie, she had to drag is stupid ass upstairs

Chapter Thirteen
As Michael and Chloe drove back home from breakfast he told her he hoped she knew how much he loved her.
“Yes, Michael I do. You tell me often that you love me. I love you too. That’s why it hurts when you do things like purposely miss a party just to hurt me.”
Michael sighed,”Yes I know, that was a stupid and selfish thing to do. I’m sorry Chloe that I hurt you. It won’t happen again. I’ve done great in my therapy I just had a bad moment. Forgive me?” He asked
“Yes I forgive you. I love you too much not to.” She stated
As they pulled in Michael said he would walk her in. He felt his pocket for the ring. They walked in and Michael was relieved everyone was there. He wanted their blessing. Edith offered him some coffee and he accepted it. As they got comfortable Michael stood up and said
“I have something I need to say if I can have a moment.”
He reached in his pocket and took out a little black box and got down on one knee in front of Chloe.
“Chloe, I knew from the night I met you I would love you forever. You have seen me through my darkest days when I was an awful human being to even be around. However you still loved me and stood by me. You never gave up on me.”
By now Chloe was crying and shaking. Michael opened the box to reveal the most beautiful ring she had ever seen in her life.
“Chloe will you do me the honor of being my wife?”
There was no hesitation for Chloe though the others thought there would be.
“Oh Michael, yes! Of course I will!” She exclaimed.
The hugged and kissed and they seemed so happy. How could you not be happy for them.
“Well now, “ said Edith, “this means we have an engagement party to plan. Congratulations to both of you.”
Everyone gave Chloe a hug and shook Michael’s hand. Beth was last and whispered to him,
“You better treat her like a queen or I’m coming for you.”
Michael just stared at her with a grin on his face but inside he was seething.
“This woman was going to have to be dealt with. She is going to be a problem. She will pull us apart,” he thought.
“Beth you have nothing to worry about. I love Chloe I won’t hurt her. She is the love of my life”.
Michael said he needed to leave and get some things done before work tomorrow. He pulled Chloe close to him, told her he loved her more than there are stars and kissed her goodbye. Chloe turned and looked at everyone and said,
“Okay y’all, he’s gone. You can tell me what you really think,” she stated knowing that none of them had any warm fuzzies for him.
“You already know how I feel,” said Beth, “but I’ll stand by you regardless.”
“He’s been a hard man to get to know or understand,” said Edith and Bob.
“He just seems secretive and keeps to himself but we are there for you honey,” stated Bob.
“We need to have the engagement party soon because I don’t want a long engagement. I want to have the wedding in a matter of months.” Chloe informed them.
“Well,” said Edith, “we better get to planning the party. Let’s go sit down girls and start writing things down.”
“What if we rented the Country Club for the night and catered the food in?” Beth asked.
“Well, they do have a huge dance floor, a bar, and we can get any band we want. It will be fun.” Chloe said “what do you think Edith?”
“It’s sounds fine but I’m thinking we should cater our own food to save some money. We can pay to have someone do it on the wedding.” She replied.
Chloe called the Country Club to check on dates and pricing. She was able to set it up for Saturday January 15th at 7pm. Well, one thing off the list. Now to try and find a band. Trying to find music that everyone will like will be crazy. Bob and Edith like polka music, Chloe and Beth like country music and 80’s rock but Michael likes classical ballroom dancing music. This will be difficult.
“Hey y’all, what if we put an ad in the paper for an eclectic band that can play different genres. Then we can do auditions.”
“That’s a great idea,” Beth exclaimed, “I’ll write the ad up and put it in the paper right away. We don’t have much time, especially with Christmas and New Years. They may all be booked.”
Edith looked up at the clock and realized they had spent all day talking wedding and engagement stuff. It was time for supper.
“Can you girls set the table for me. Then make some collard greens for me. I’m cooking up some steaks. I think we’ll have some dirty rice too. Beth can you make that honey?” Edith asked.
“Sure. I swear Miss Edith I’m gaining weight living here eating all this good food. I’m gonna have to start jogging.” She giggled
After supper Bob asked “Anyone up for a game of cards?”
“Bob,” Chloe said, “you and Edith always win.”
“I’ll let you win,” he laughed.
“No you won’t,” she said. “But I’ll play anyway.”
They all loved playing Spades and Hearts as well. It made Chloe sad all of a sudden because she would get married and lose this.
“When I get married can we have at least one night a week that we get together and play cards?” Chloe asked “I don’t want to lose these kind of moments or get too busy and have no time for each other.”
“That will never happen,” said Beth. “You’re stuck with us.” she giggled.
They played a few hands and then everyone was ready for bed. Especially since once again Bob won every hand.
At work the next day Chloe got to show off her beautiful engagement ring. She was so happy and you could see it. She couldn’t stop smiling. Beth had never seen her so happy. She wondered if she was just jealous of Chloe and Michael and what they had but that was ridiculous! She just outright didn’t trust the man, if you can call him that. No real man hits a woman. I don’t care how long he has gone to therapy and not hit her, she has seen sparks of his anger and things are brewing under the surface. She was scared what would happen when he finally exploded.
“Chloe let’s have a drink after work. It’s been awhile since we just sat and talked and spent any girl time.” Beth asked.
“Sure, sounds like fun!”
All of a sudden Michael was there.
“What sounds like fun?”
“You startled me,” replied Chloe. “We’re just going out for a bit after work.”
“Oh? Maybe I should go with. Watch out for you two.”
Beth jumped in,
“We are fully capable of taking care of ourselves. We’ve been doing it for years. Besides it’s girl time.”
“Don’t y’all talk enough at work and home, now you have to go out for girl time too?” asked Michael.
“Listen Michael, “ Beth started before Chloe jumped in.
“Michael, Beth is my best friend. We have always done everything together. Just how it is. Nothing against you, we just go out sometimes, like tonight.“
“Chloe,” Michael said, “can I talk to you please”.
They walked over to a corner of the kitchen where they could talk.
“I’m going to be your husband, so you need to learn now to never speak to me like that again. Learn some respect.” Michael’s jaw was clenched as he spoke in a whisper to her.
She looked at him and said quietly, “Respect goes both ways Michael!”
With that his hand started to come up but Beth walked in.
“Y’all okay in here?”
His hand immediately went down and relaxed.
“Yes,” Michael said, “just clearing something up.I have to get back to the office, y’all have fun tonight.”
Beth could see she was right. He wasn’t better. The only thing he was better at was hiding his anger and rage. But deep down it was simmering and it was about to boil over and they were all about to see how bad things could get.

The Ambiguity of the OVE Finale (Spoiler Alert)
Although a tad lacklustre compared to the first book of the duology, Our Violent Ends came at me with full force. It’s a book that made a mark on me in a way I haven’t felt in years - and it left a wound in my heart that I’m still trying to patch up.
Let’s discuss that ending.
It’s rare for an author to leave the readers hanging on the fate of the main characters. Whether Roma and Juliette are dead or alive is still unknown and left to the readers to perceive. I’m still struggling on which side am I on because the arguments presented from both sides are equally strong.
The message of how hope is a dangerous thing was prevalent in These Violent Delights. It carried on to the second book until a quote by Benedikt that basically viewed hope in a positive light. That quote was then used by Chloe Gong when asked about the fate of Roma and Juliette after that ambiguous ending. And we’re not left to live in that ambiguity forever because there’s a possibility that their fates will be revealed in the future.
Tumblr media
Whatever happens, we have to be ready. Even though I’m terrified for the most likely possibility that I’ve been denying for days.

pieces - chapter seventeen
Five years ago, Chloe dropped off the face of the Earth. Beca didn’t expect to see her again dancing in a strip club, out of all places.
rating: E (drug use and emotional abuse in early chapters)

A shrill cry pulled Beca out of her slumber with a startle. It had been a month, but she had yet to get used to being awoken by baby cries. Tonight was her shift, and she swung her legs to the side and she pushed back the covers, her bare feet hitting the carpet floor and carrying her across the hall.
“It’s okay, Bean,” she soothed as she picked Marleigh up, cradling her against her chest as she headed down the hall towards the kitchen. She fished a pouch of breast milk from the fridge and expertly poured it into a bottle with one hand, all the while trying to soothe Marleigh’s cries by rocking her lightly. Setting the bottle inside the warmer (best purchase they had made), she hit the button and paced the living room while it heated up, pressing soft kisses over Marleigh’s velvety hair.
Once the milk was at the perfect temperature, she padded back to the nursery and settled into the rocking chair, shifting Marleigh to the crook of her elbow and bringing the teat to her lips.
“Here we go,” Beca murmured, her tone full of love and affection for the three-month-old as Marleigh’s cries subsized to coos as she fed, her big blue eyes locking with Beca’s. She was a carbon copy of Chloe, and Beca was truly obsessed. “Much better, huh?” She smiled. “Listen MJ, tomorrow I have to go back to work. It sucks big time, and I’m going to miss you so, so much, but I’ll come back at night, okay? I’m not abandoning you, or anything. I’ll never do that. I promise.”
Once Marleigh was done, Beca changed her and sang her a lullaby, gently lowering her in her crib. Marleigh had the habit of sleeping with her arms up by her head, and it was the most adorable thing.
Come morning, Beca was definitely reluctant to go back into the office. Chloe and Marleigh were doing tummy time in the living room when she rounded the corner to pour her coffee into a travel mug.
Chloe smiled and picked Marleigh up, carrying her over. “Ready for your first day back?”
“No,” Beca mumbled as she screwed the lid back on, pouting a little. “Send me photos and videos, alright?”
Chloe giggled. “I will, don’t worry.”
“Come here, Bean,” Beca said, plucking her from Chloe’s arms. She kissed her forehead. “I love you.”
As though sensing her sadness, Marleigh wailed as soon as Beca transferred her back into Chloe’s arms, making Beca’s departure a thousand times more difficult. She spent her first meeting of the day with her mind wandering to the two people she left at home, daydreaming about going back home later that day.
“Knock, knock.”
Beca looked up from her computer, grinning at the sight of Chloe and Marleigh. She was just about to leave for lunch. “Hey! What are you guys doing here??”
“We thought we would come to have lunch,” Chloe said as she stepped inside and placed a bag on Beca’s desk.
“Oh my god, she’s a bear,” Beca gushed as she walked around the desk to take Marleigh from Chloe once she was out of the chest carrier. The baby was clad in the most precious bear fleece winter suit, complete with a hood sporting round ears. She kissed Marleigh’s cheek. “Hi, Bean. I’ve missed you.”
“How was your first morning back?” Chloe asked a few minutes later once she was settled down in the chair opposite Beca’s desk, nursing Marleigh.
“Busy,” Beca said once she’d swallowed her mouthful of poke rice. “But good. It’s nice to get back into it, even though I miss you guys.”
“We’ve missed you, too,” Chloe murmured with a soft smile. “Maybe we’ll do this lunch thing regularly. It’s nice to be outside. We can meet at the park when it gets warmer, too.”
Beca smiled. “That sounds like a great idea.”
*
It was strange, for someone as workaholic as Beca to be looking forward to the weekend, now. She and Chloe had a pretty good routine down. During weekdays, she would wait for Beca to come home to start Marleigh’s nighttime routine: bath, feed, and playtime. On weekends, Beca usually spent her mornings entertaining Marleigh so Chloe could have a lie-in and she and Marleigh some bonding time. She also made sure to come home earlier on the days Chloe had therapy or NA meetings, so she could watch Marleigh.
Her absolute favorite thing was whenever Marleigh fell asleep sprawled out on her chest while she lounged on the couch.
“Oh my goodness,” Chloe murmured the first time she was there to witness the scene. She whipped out her phone. “Don’t move.”
Beca chuckled. “Couldn’t even if I wanted to. She’s been passed out like this for an hour. Sorry, I didn’t get a start on dinner yet.”
“Don’t worry about that. Did everything go okay?”
Beca nodded. “Yeah. We did tummy time, then had a snack, and then decided we were too tired to do anything else, so we passed out on the couch.”
Chloe smiled as she sat down next to them. She brushed a kiss to Marleigh’s forehead, then one to Beca’s cheek. “You guys are so cute. Oh, I went to pick up the birth announcements from the photographer, check this out.” Chloe pulled out a stack of pictures, handing one to Beca.
“Oh my god, she’s adorable,” Beca said, smiling fondly as she gazed at Chloe. “You really said copy and paste, huh?”
Chloe laughed. “I know. It’s pretty crazy. Part of me is glad she doesn’t look like him at all,” she admitted. “Not that I would love her any less but, yeah…”
“I get it,” Beca murmured.
When Marleigh woke up, they let her play on her own on her mat for a bit while they worked on dinner, singing along to the music playing. At now four months old, Marleigh was able to start eating solid food, which they were trying for the first time tonight.
“Tonight’s menu is a carrot, sweet potato, and parsnip puree,” Beca commented as she stirred the homemade concoction with a spoon. “Doesn’t sound too bad, does it, Mar?”
Chloe had her phone ready to record, and Beca scooped half a spoon, blowing on it then presenting it to the baby. Marleigh closed her lips around it and paused, a perplexed expression flashing on her features once she seemed to realize this definitely didn’t taste like milk. Beca chuckled and backed away a bit, half expecting Marleigh to spit it right out, but the baby ended up swallowing and opening her mouth for more.
They gave her a bath afterward, and read her a story. Marleigh usually woke up for a feed around ten pm, which Chloe handled while Beca washed the dishes after their own dinner. She changed and washed up for bed afterward, messing around on her phone for a bit.
A knock on the open door made her look up.
“Hey,” she murmured. “All good?”
Chloe nodded. “Yeah, she’s down.” She padded over and laid down, shifting to her side.
Beca set her phone aside, mirroring her position. “What’s up?”
“You’re amazing, you know that?” Chloe said. “Like… since the start. With taking me in, paying for rehab and my dad’s treatment, being by my side through my recovery and pregnancy, and now this-- raising Marleigh like she’s your own. You’re…” she shook her head. “I want to find the words to tell you how grateful I am, but I don’t think those exist.”
Beca’s heart swelled with Chloe’s words. She smiled, blinking back the tears burning behind her eyes. “I know you’re grateful, I promise. And since we’re telling each other what we think…” she grabbed Chloe’s hand. “I’m in awe of you. Since day one. Accepting to go to rehab, keeping the baby, being a kickass mom. Marleigh is incredibly lucky.”
“Thank you,” Chloe murmured. “I just hope I won’t mess up.”
Beca nodded, squeezing her hand. Chloe had expressed concerns about being able to remain sober once she would stop breastfeeding a few months from now. “I know you’ll do your best not to.”
“Can I…” Chloe hesitated. “Can I sleep in here tonight?”
A soft smile curved Beca’s lips and butterflies flapped in her belly. “Yeah, of course. I’d love that.”
As Chloe got settled under the covers and turned on her opposite side, Beca waited for a few beats, then draped an arm across her middle, shuffling closer. “This okay?”
“Yeah,” Chloe breathed in the darkness. Her fingers loosely laced with Beca’s. “Goodnight, Bec.”
*
“I’m home!”
“We’re in the kitchen!” Beca called out as she stood by the island, Marleigh propped on her hip. Today was an important day, but the five-month-old didn’t seem all that aware. “Happy one year of sobriety!”
Chloe’s eyes widened, taking in the sight of the cake that bore the same sentiment. “Oh my god,” she breathed out, tears pooling in her eyes. “You remembered.”
Beca rolled her eyes. “Duh. Of course, I did.” She glanced at Marleigh. “Can you say happy one year of sobriety mommy?”
Marleigh reached out for Chloe in response, emitting the cutest cooing sound.
“Close enough,” Beca decided with a soft laugh. She smiled at Chloe. “How do you feel?”
“Good. Proud,” Chloe said, beaming.
Beca nodded. “As you should. I’m also freaking proud of you, Chlo.”
Marleigh rested her tiny hand on Chloe’s cheek when a tear slid down, big blue eyes focused on her mom. Chloe exhaled a watery chuckle. “It’s okay, Bean. Mommy’s alright.”
Beca grinned, taking the knife. “Shall I cut this bad boy?”
“One sec,” Chloe said, stepping closer to pluck the knife from her hand and set it on the table. Before Beca could ask her what she was doing, Chloe’s lips were on hers in a soft kiss that stole the breath from her lungs.
It was short, chaste, but sent Beca’s mind for a spin.
“I love you,” Chloe murmured as she pulled away, brushing her nose against Beca’s. “Thank you for being so patient with me and going at my pace. But I feel ready now. To start something real, with you.”
Beca blinked. “Can you say that again?”
“Which part?” Chloe asked with an amused smile.
“The… love part.”
“I love you,” Chloe repeated, resting her forehead against Beca’s. “And I want to be with you.”
Beca closed her eyes, basking into the pool of happiness spreading inside her as those words danced in a loop in her mind. She reached up to cup Chloe’s cheek, cradling her face tenderly. “I love you, too.”
*
“Hey. Breathe,” Beca coached, taking Chloe’s hand at the red light.
Today was Marleigh’s six-month-check up, and as always whenever they went to the doctor’s, Chloe was terrified something might be wrong.
It had been two weeks since Chloe’s kiss and confession, and they’d been taking things slow. They hadn’t had sex yet, but Beca was in no rush at all. She knew Chloe would probably be more reluctant with that aspect of their relationship given everything she’d been through (Beca guessed, as Chloe never broached the topic), and she was once again following her lead.
Chloe nodded, puffing out a breath as instructed. “Thanks.”
Beca couldn’t help but feel slightly nervous as well as they waited in the doctor’s office. Marleigh seemed and looked healthy; she rolled over now, made different sounds, and reacted to her name. Nothing indicated a failure to thrive, but something could be wrong with her heart, her lungs, or her liver without any physical sign showing up.
“Good afternoon,” Dr. Gazzola greeted as she stepped inside the exam room. “Hello, Marleigh. Wow, you’ve gotten big since the last time I saw you!”
Chloe chuckled. “She eats really well.”
“Good. Are you still nursing?”
“Yes. Once in the morning and in the evening before bed. The rest is solid food.”
Over the next twenty minutes, Dr. Gazzola dotted down Marleigh’s weight and height, inquired about the milestones, and listened to her heart and lungs. Beca’s eyes widened when she said it was time for the shots.
“Shots?” She asked, paling slightly. “Again?”
Marleigh’s three-month-check up had been traumatizing for Beca, as she had felt powerless against Marleigh’s distress after getting two shots.
“Want to hold my hand?” Chloe teased, though Beca knew it was hard on her, too.
“Shut up,” Beca muttered, throwing her a glare.
Chloe held Marleigh in her lap while the doctor administered three shots. Marleigh cried, but it wasn’t as bad as last time.
“You were so brave,” Beca gushed as she put her onesie back on while Chloe asked the doctor about any signs of defects because of the drugs having passed in the placenta the first three weeks of pregnancy. Marleigh cooed, holding on a chunk of Beca’s hair and pulling it to her mouth. Beca chuckled and picked her up, propping her onto her hip as she focused on the doctor’s words.
“I see no signs of defects so far. She hit all the six-month milestones, her weight and height are good. She’s as healthy as can be.”
Chloe’s shoulder slumped, and she mustered a smile. “Okay. Thank you so much.”
They strapped Marleigh back inside her car seat and carried it out to the car, Beca’s hand finding Chloe’s on their way out.
“Wanna stop at Chick-Fil-A for lunch?” It felt deserved after that emotional hour.
Chloe grinned. “Heck yeah.” She leaned in to kiss Beca, and Beca wasn’t sure when or if she’d ever get used to that.
After lunch, they hung out at the park as it happened to be one of the first warm days of the year. Marleigh was getting a lot more curious and talkative, and putting everything within reach in her mouth, including rocks, they soon found out.
“And that’s a dog,” Beca said as Marleigh sat in her lap. “Can you say dog? Or woof?”
“Da!”
Beca chuckled and glanced at Chloe to find her snapping a picture or filming. “Are you capturing more material to further destroy my reputation, Beale?” Beca asked, narrowing her eyes.
Chloe giggled. “Don’t worry, I’m keeping this one for myself.”
On their way out of the park, they ran into someone Beca never thought she’d see again.
“Oh, hi.”
Beca blinked. “Hey, Sarah. How, um, how have you been?”
“I’ve been good.” She cleared her throat, her eyes falling to Marleigh as she chilled in her stroller, munching on a teething toy and seemingly unaware of the awkwardness surrounding her.
“This is Marleigh,” Chloe provided with a soft smile.
“Wow, she looks just like you,” Sarah said.
“Can I… talk to you for a minute?” Beca found herself asking, pointing over her shoulder. She sent Chloe a smile before she and Sarah stepped away. Beca rubbed the back of her neck. “I uh, wanted to apologize. You were right about my feelings for Chloe, I just-- I was oblivious. I’m sorry I unconsciously led you on more than I should have.”
Sarah nodded. “Thank you for saying that. And it’s okay. The first couple of months were a bit rough, but then I met someone, and…” she smiled, glancing at the ground. “I’m really happy.”
Beca’s shoulders slumped as that last bit of guilt she wasn’t aware she was carrying until now dissipated. “Good. I’m really glad to hear that, Sarah.”
Sarah looked back to where Chloe was, crouched down in front of Marleigh and talking to her. “You guys make a beautiful family.”
Beca smiled. “Thanks. It was good to see you,” she said, meaning every word. “Take care of yourself, Sarah.”
She headed back to Chloe and Marleigh, taking Chloe’s hand as they resumed their way to the car.
“You okay?” Chloe asked after a few beats.
“Yeah,” Beca breathed out, lacing their fingers as she kissed Chloe’s cheek. “More than okay.”

The Secret Life of MDC | Part 2
Part 2 – DuPont believe anything they say
Part 1
Marinette was ready for anything they could throw at her because now she can bring them all down at once. Today was the start of her first time as a spy student for the School board and splitting her time between two classes. The first half of the day would be spent with Mlle. Bustier and the second half as a TA for a new teacher that recently just began over the summer.
“Are you ready, Buggy?” She heard Adrien ask her from behind.
“Buggy? That’s a new one, Kitten, and yeah I'm ready. Just one more school year with Lila and her mindless followers.” Marinette answers, absently playing with the ends of her blouse. Adrien feeling a shift in the air, grips her hand and gives the one person he sees as a sister the biggest reassuring smile he could muster.
“C’mon losers, I only have so many fucks to give out and I don’t want to blow it in the first half of class.” They heard Chloe call out behind them wearing sunglasses indoors that clashed with her golden outfit. Marinette had to prevent herself from scoffing at the fashion choice the blonde teen had made. It was a crime against fashion and the girl is the daughter of a fashion icon.
“Chloe, you know I love you, but what in the world prompted you to wear sunglasses indoors?” Marinette somehow managed not to raise her voice at a person she claims as a sister.
“Oh hush, Manette. I’m doing this to prevent future murders on my hands.” Chloe responded as Adrien and Marinette look at each other communicating with slight head shakes and hand gestures that went from them to Chloe and back to them.
“That makes no sense, Bee, and I’m afraid to know what you meant. Should I message Tim to get a lawyer on hand or just pretend that I didn’t hear anything and go on into the nightmare that we call class.” It was Marinette that took the charge like she always does in these situations where she and Adrien are at a loss when it comes to Chloe’s hidden mindset.
All Chloe gives them is a mischief smirk causing the two friends to fear what is to come.
~*~
“Good morning, class. Today I have exciting news!” The teacher, Mlle. Bustier, announces as she setting her things down and turning to the chalkboard.
The trio never would have thought they would be stuck with Caline Bustier since the beginning of their collége years to the end of their lycée years. The only reason why this is a fact is that many of the teachers in the surrounding Paris area moved out once Hawkmoth’s akuma attacks began to become more vicious. They didn’t want to teach in an area that could lead to death or effect their trauma even more. This caused the school board committee for all of Paris to let the teachers teach their current class up until graduation with only the senior teachers teaching two sets of classes which meant teaching a younger generation outside of their grade group. So far, the change has been going well with minimum out rejection.
For Mlle. Bustier’s class, it was the best transition ever; however, it only solidifies their downfall and future in the real world. Caline, a generous carrying teacher, has little to none of a backbone. Her teaching methods are questionable especially when it comes to her classes' growth, which is why the school board's deal to Marinette was to become a student spy rather than letting her go free once she passed the Baccalauréat.
Caline turns around to view her students. She’s happy to see every single one of them, but her inner smile fades away once she caught sight of Marinette. The girl had so much potential in the teacher’s eyes and it was a shame to see it go to waste. She tried to get Marinette to be an example for her peers, but the girl did nothing but cause a rift in the classroom.
“I have some amazing news. Starting today up until our class exchange program, each and every one of you will be working on a presentation choosing an infamous city in the United States. You can work in pairs no bigger than three for this assignment.” Caline began before going into detail regarding the largest project of their senior year.
The trio already knew what city they were going to pick; however, for Marinette, she was slightly wary. This assignment has little to with her problems, but she had forgotten about the exchange program that the class was selected last year to go on for this year.
Every year a certain senior class is chosen to go on an exchange to one of the partner schools in the United States. When Marinette graduated, she had forgotten that her class was chosen, so now she needs to find out how that will change her teaching assistant job plans and how she and the principal will overcome this.
“Ooh, we should Gotham! I personally know the Waynes. They are a nice family. You know?” Of course, it had to be Lila to ruin a good mood. The trio could feel the liar’s gaze lingering on them as they mentally plain on what to do. “You know Adrien, you could join my group and we’ll get an ‘A’.” Lila begins to sweet-talk her way through Adrien, ignoring the heavily implied discomfort the model was giving her.
“Huh, Lie-la, I’m actually planning on working with Chloe and Mari for this one. I’m sure Alya and Nino would love to be a part of your group.” Adrien speaks up as he repeatedly tapes the desk for help from his two surrogate sisters.
Lila huffs putting on the waterworks, like always does when she didn’t get her way.
“Adrien? C’mon sunshine, can’t you just work with Lila. She was really looking forward to doing the project with you. Nino and I decided to be a duo, anyway. I’m sure Chloe and Marinette can handle it on their own.” Alya may not be physically violent towards anyone, but she did know how to pressure someone into doing something.
Adrien shakes his head and decides that it was best to stay close to Chloe and Marinette in case something goes sideways.
Feeling the attention away from her, Lila knew she had to come up with something spectacular. However, it would be unfortunate for Marinette who decided to take a drink from her water bottle. “I know I shouldn't say anything, but I’m dating Damian Wayne.” Immediately the loyalist of flies surrounds the liar gushing about the latest news.
Marinette, on the other hand, chokes on her water creating a coughing fit. She stares aghast at the liar once the coughing died down. Chloe and Adrien couldn't help but laugh at this.
“Calm down, calm down, class. I still have much to discuss with you including the trip.” Mlle. Bustier states trying to reel on her students as the talking increases in volume.
Fading out of the class the trio opens their group chat. Marinette looks up every so often to make sure that their teacher was paying them no attention.
Queen Bee: Our class is filled with idiots. [insert screaming GIF]
Katana’s Bitch: Uh, Bee what happened?
My Voice is Music: Aren’t you like in class?
Gotham’s Princess: Yes, but that is not the point. Besides, I already did all this shit and just in class for "fun".
R U Kitten Me:  Luka, my love, I’m gonna need loads of therapy?
My Voice is Music: Liar?
Katana’s Bitch: Liar?
Queen Bee: She tried to guilt Kitten into being her partner for this large assignment. Ooh, how I can’t wait until he comes out of the closet.
Gotham’s Princess:  It will be something like this: [insert a WTF GIF]
R U Kitten Me: Ooh that’s a good one Mars.
Gotham’s Princess: [insert bowing GIF] Thank you.
Queen Bee: 10 o clock, Bustier’s looking right at us
Marinette looks away from her phone to be greeted by Mlle. Bustier stern facials. She sheepishly smiles at the teacher and begins to write in her notebook, but the content had nothing to do with what Mlle. Bustier was teaching.
A grueling class period later, Marinette rushes over to the other side of the building. She sets up the classroom for the teacher and waits for the students to arrive.
While Marinette becomes the TA for a different class, Chloe and Adrien are forced to deal with the idiocy of their classmates alone.
Chloe nearly got into a yelling match with Lila and Alya about Marinette’s whereabouts as everything soon became aware that the fashion designer was missing for the second half of the school day.
Lila, once again, tried to dig her nails into the model to be her partner for the presentation project, she even tried to pull the daddy card over the blonde not knowing that Gabriel has little power over him since he unofficially moved in with the Dupain-Cheng home and rarely makes an appearance at the Agreste home unless it was dire.
“I can’t believe how selfish you are?” Alya attempts to scream into Adrien’s face but is pulled away by Nino, once the DJ realizes what was going on. He even mouths his apologies to his friend as he pulls Alya to comfort Lila, who was making a big hissy fit.
“I just wanted him to have a good grade on this project. My Damiboo would have been a large help when we choice Gotham.” Lila sniffles in her limp hand as if she was the victim of a major crime. Chloe and Adrien just roll their eyes and continue to ignore their classmates as the second half begins.
~*~
Marinette laughs at the messages on her phone about the class before walking into Principal De La Fontaine's offices. Due to the constant attacks and akuma victim from Dupont, the Paris school board officials declared Principal Damocles unfit to be a principal and opted for De La Fontaine to oversee college and lycée of the Dupont schools seeing as they are short-staffed.
“Mlle. Dupain-Cheng, you needed to see me?”
“Good evening, Principal De La Fontaine, and yes I do. It’s about the exchange program. The class that I’m spying for was selected to go last year and I was wondering how that will affect my teaching assistant job?” She asks taking an empty seat opposite from the Principal.
“Why yes, we probably should discuss this before you go. This might be the last piece for the school board in regards to Caline’s teaching habits. I have already discussed it with Mme. Margaux about your month's departure.”
A sigh of relief escapes Marinette’s lips. The feeling of knowing nothing will happen to her job on the school grounds with her being gone for a month.
“Merci.” She says once their conversations end and as she walks out of the office.
Nette @GothamsFashionSense Guess who’s returning to Gotham for a month?? This fille right here!! [insert a Dottie screaming & kicking her feet GIF]
Immediately, the tweet receives dozens of replies, all ranging from screeches of who is she to can’t wait to play “Spot the Nette game” on twitter. Marinette couldn’t help up chuckle as the replies from her extended family proceeds to enter the replies.
Maybe the trip wouldn’t be so bad?
Yeah, that was a lie. Before the trip started, Lila made a tearful excuse about the presentation project then saying that Marinette and her group stole the presentation from her as their city was the same, Gotham, New Jersy. That ended up becoming a large battle about right and wrong, to which Chloe and Adrien won because they did most of the project.
The moment before the trio stepped into the airport, saying their goodbyes to Kagami, Luka, and closet family members was just as emotional. Adrien tried his hardest not to breakdown in Luka’s arms but the reminder of seeing Jon made him excited. Chloe was a weeping mess saying goodbye to her girlfriend, who promise to send messages every day to keep the bee miraculous holder sane. For Marinette, she knew that Paris was in good hands and always having Kaalki on hand has been a huge help when traveling between the two cities.
Upon entering the airplane, there wasn’t a single moment that Lila didn’t lie about her experience in Gotham. She somehow managed to get every Wayne boys' name wrong except for Damian’s and Bruce’s. Like whom the hell is Tom Grayson and Drake Todd. It took every bone in the trio’s body not to breakdown laughing and cursing at the liar for such ludicrous names. Though parts of her conversation went into the ultimate group chat where everyone from Gotham to Paris is on. Let’s just say Jason was craving for a bullet to hit the liar in an “accidental” way.

And They Were Roommates- Pt 1
A/N Trying another soulmate chapter fiction cause I’m a sucker for them :)
Marinette doodled on her wrist, tuning out the professor in favor of annoying her soulmate. She was working on the third flower when a faux cough caught her attention. She dropped her pen, flashing her professor a warm smile, as she propped her chin on her hand.
“Am I boring you Ms. Dupen-Chang?”
“Quite the contrary Professor Lupez, the history of the Mexican-American War is riveting, but if I may, I believe you are reviewing the wrong War with our finals approaching next week.”
The professor raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms to stare down the French girl.
“And which war do you feel we should be covering?”
“You hardly touched on the Korean War and dismissed any questions we might have had on the subject, it will be on the final right?”
Sighing, the professor turned back to the board writing ‘Korean War’ in large letters, tossing the chalk on her desk with more force than necessary.
“Since it is our final review day, I will entertain you this one time Ms. Dupen-Chang, but believe me when I say, I will not miss our little interactions when the semester ends.”
“I would expect nothing less.”
Marinette smirked as she picked up her pen to jot down a few notes, peeking a look at her wrist in the process.
“Got caught again? Good. Pay attention in class.”
Her smirk widened as she rolled her eyes. The man always knew what to say, such the romantic. Glancing at the clock on the wall, Marinette began counting down the minutes until her final class ended. After all, American History was the least of her worries and with less than a week till her first final, she’d much rather be at the apartment studying anything else but this.
The clock had just hit the fifty mark and students were already out of their seats, Marinette along with them.
“Ms. Dupen-Chang, a moment please?”
She let out an involuntary groan as she made her way down to the front of the class. Professor Lupez was finishing packing her bag, not paying one mind to Marinette as she bounced from foot to foot, eager to leave. Finally, she took her seat, crossing her arms to look at the girl.
“Have you reconsidered Marinette?”
“Professor Lupez, I adore history, I really do. But it’s not something I want to do for the rest of my life, designing is, and I’m really good at it.”
“It’s your second to last semester Marinette, you’ll be graduating in the spring. You’ve taken enough history credits to satisfy your minor in history and you’re three credits away from having a double major. Would you at least consider that? I hate to see someone with your obvious love and affiliation of the topic not even consider it.”
Marinette let out a sigh, twirling a loose strand of hair.
“I’ll consider it Professor Lupez, but I want to finish my business degree and look into a major in business, not history.”
The professor simply nodded, a thoughtful expression on her face.
“That’s all I wanted to hear. I hope to see you in the spring Marinette,”
“I thought you were going to be so glad to rid yourself of our little interactions.”
“Please,” Lupez rose, collecting her bag in the process. “No other student has been able to rival my knowledge. It would be a shame to never see you again.”
Marinette turned to leave, a smile growing across her face.
“You as well Professor Lupez.”
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The jingle of keys in the doorknob caught her attention as she looked up from her notes in time to see Chloe fall through the door, dropping a multitude of shopping bags in the process.
“Is this your way of preparing for finals?” A smile tugged at  Marinette’s lips as she watched the blonde adjust her hair in  the mirror beside the door.
“Dupen-Chang, it’s called retail therapy. Finals are the most stressful part of college and a girl needs to be ready to look fabulous to cover the stress wrinkles.”
She shuttered, sending Marinette into a fit of giggles. Standing up from the couch, she waded through her textbooks to pick up the nearest bag. Together, the two of them managed to make it to their shared room in one trip. As the blonde began to unpack, she blindly threw a shirt in Marinette’s direction.
“What’s this Chloe?”
“Don’t be dull Dupen-Chang,” she rolled her eyes as she pulled out another shirt, examining it closely before slipping it on a hanger. “It’s a new shirt that didn’t fit me how I wanted it to, but I bought it anyways because it should look decent on you.”
“I’m touched.” Marinette wiped a non-existent tear from her eye, holding up the shirt to examine it.
She opened her mouth, only to be cut off by the sound of the front door slamming shut. The two girls shared a grim look before they made their way across the hall, standing in front of Adiren’s door, the light sounds of destruction echoing from inside.
“Adrikins? You okay in there?”
There was silence before the sound of shuffling feet made their way to unlock the door. He pulled it open to reveal red and puffy eyes. Chloe pushed her way inside, dragging him to the bed with her while Marinette leaned against the doorframe, assessing the damage he had done. All the pictures of him and David were torn up and scattered across the floor, David’s scarf laid in different spots, ripped in two, strands of yarn fraying outward.
“David broke up with you?”
Adrien nodded softly, falling into Chloe’s outstretched arms.
“Well he’s ridiculous, utterly ridiculous then.”
“No, he’s not, he just found his soulmate, that’s all.” Adrien’s voice cracked as he inhaled sharply, trying to stop a new wave of tears.
Marinette sighed, joining the two on his bed, rubbing his back lightly as her and Chloe both shook their heads. The three of them had been attending Metropolis University for the past four years and every year, Adrien fell quickly and deeply in love with a guy only for them to leave just as fast, leaving him a broken mess.
“I guess we should put out for a new roommate then.”
He sat up stiffly, his eyes darting between the two girls as if daring them to argue. Chloe threw her hands up in the air, letting out a defeated sigh.
“If you’re so sure Adrikins. Mari and I can deliver him his stuff, you just get some rest. We’ll order your favorite take out and be back in an hour or so.”
He nodded, falling backwards on his bed, lost in thought. The two girls stood up, making their way to David’s old room, collecting a few stray boxes on the way.
“This is ridiculous Dupen-Chang. We need a no partner roommate policy. This is the third roommate we’ve replaced since January, all of them breaking Adrikins heart, it is unacceptable, utterly unacceptable.”
The girl just nodded as she pulled David’s suitcase out from the closet, packing his clothes as tightly as she could. Chloe continued to ramble on as the girls filled box after box.
“-and where does David plan on going? Is he just going to move in with his soulmate and hope he’s not a serial killer? That is stupid! I mean seriously, how stupid is this boy? I thought he was in the honor college?”
Marinette just shook her head, picking up a nearby pen, tossing the cap into the trash can.
“Can’t write much tonight. Threat Level Heartbreak”
Tossing the pen into the trash as well, Marinette stood, gathering the two closest boxes.
“Let’s call David and figure out where to drop this stuff off. We’ll put out the roommate ad later tonight.” . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Around midnight, Marinette shifted from under Adrien and Chloe, causing the two to fall into each other on the couch, neither waking. She pulled the blanket over her friends, turning back to clean up the mess they had made. She threw away the take out containers, reaching for the empty ice cream when she felt the familiar tingle on her arm.
“I have waited the appropriate amount of time, correct? Threat resolved?”
A small smile threatened to take over her whole face as she tossed the empty containers. Setting the trash bag outside their apartment door, she pulled out the pen holding her hair together.
“Threat resolved. Surprised you’re still up.”
The previous statement disappeared from her arm, a new one beginning to etch in its place.
“Wanted to make sure you survived, I know the complexity of that threat.”
She let out a quiet chuckle, leaning down to pick up the spoons scattered across the coffee table. Moving to the sink, she gently scrubbed away her marks, uncapping the pen to respond.
“I think I’m getting better at it. Easier and faster each time.”
Letting the water run, she washed the few dishes, placing them on a towel to dry.
“Your friend should make better partner choices.”
“Hell yeah he should.” Marinette mumbled under breath as she ejected the Titanic disk, placing it in its case before turning off the TV. Moving to the bathroom, she ran her toothbrush under the water, placing it in her mouth before washing her arm again.
“Definitely.”
She just finished brushing her teeth when the tingling caught her attention once more.
“Get some sleep Angel”
Her ears burned from the nickname he insisted on calling her. She always hated when the twenty four hours had passed and the ink faded on it’s own. Washing away the ink was always a quick and effective way to communicate, but if she wanted to leave a message, she left the spot alone and her soulmate would be marked for a full twenty-four hours before the message disappeared.
“Will do mon amour. Goodnight”
Crawling into her bed, Marinette pulled out her phone, sending a quick email to the University Newsletter to request a spot for the roommate ad.
“What do you think Tikki? Can we manage to get a roommate that will last at least one full semester?”
Tikki flew from the doll mansion that Chloe had insisted on buying for their kwamii’s. Something about living in comfort and luxury is better for their powers? Honestly, Marinette didn’t care, as long as Tikki and Pollen were happy, so was she.
“I think it’s something you shouldn’t worry about right now Marinette. After all, your first final is in less than a week, the less stress the better.”
Marinette nodded, placing her phone on it’s charging pad, settling into her pillow.
“You’re right Tikki, after all, I made some extra commission money this month, making rent should be easy, even without a roommate.”
The kwamii nodded, placing a light kiss on her chosen’s forehead, watching as the girl drifted off to sleep.
“Sleep well Marinette.” Tikki flew back to the dollhouse, settling into their own bed, careful not to wake Pollen. Within minutes, the kwamii was asleep.
A tingling threatened to wake the sleeping girl, but she was too tired to open her eyes to check. In perfect script, four words etched their way into her skin while she slept, something that happened every night after her soulmate was sure she was asleep.
“I love you Angel”
And just as quickly, the confession disappeared. Three years of writing to each other and neither would admit it, but they both knew. They had both fallen for people they had never met.

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 6x14 Page 23
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay what episode do we have today?
Ah okay, a Regina centric. That’s cool.
Is that the same guard Snow stripped naked in 1x16? Whaaaat?! Just looked it up and it totally is! Awesome call back! I’m going to name him Jim.
Oh my God, she killed Jim!!
Wait, so this has to be after Heart of Darkness.
The terrified look on that woman’s face when Regina strokes her chin, looks at her longingly and tells her she loves her. Omg Regina was in love with this woman all along! It was never about Daniel. It was about Christina! I’m naming her Christina.
They are my otp now.
How did Tinker Bell get out of neverland? Pan decides when people leave, and I doubt he’d let her leave just to pay a visit with the Evil Queen. But then and again maybe it was all part of his big plan.
Oh. Pixie dust doesn’t dictate who your true love is. It just shows you possibilities. That’s not what you said before, Tinker Bell!
Regina, we all know you spared her because she’s your ex-girlfriend.
Actually, this visit from Tinker Bell is odd because she doesn’t seem angry at all like when she, like, wanted to kill Regina in 3x03. How did she go from, “okay. I lost my wings because of you but it’s all cool. I just want my otp together.” to “I’m gonna f***ing drug you with pixie dust and rip your heart out!”?
Also, this is the Evil Queen I like to see. So cold, terrifying and breaking on the inside. I’m not a fan of the humorous one in 6x02. I wish Split Queen was more like this as well. Ah different writers and director. Interesting.
Split Queen: “…not some burlap-loving peasant who sleeps on dirt.” Wish Robin: “Excuse me, I sleep on hay.” Important distinction!
Snow’s so excited about the wedding, bless her.
Lol Zelena just drags Emma’s hand to look at her ring. My girl loves shiny things! And how could I forget, her otp is getting married! She is in heaven right now!
I love Emma just casually talking to Zelena like they’re gal pals at a sleepover. More of this please!
I can see what sqers say about this scene. Regina really does look hurt by the notion of Emma getting married. There is no heterosexual reason for her to react like this unless she’s in love with Hook. I think this is the only time they hug. Man, I feel so bad for sqers because upon this rewatch I can really see where they are coming from with that interpretation. It’s definitely there. And then they hug because Emma’s getting married to someone else. I would be so upset if that was my otp. What am I talking about, I watched 10 seasons of Smallville as a hardcore Chloe x Clark shipper. I think this exact scenario played out and it freaking hurts!
In other news, I am so in love with Snow. Have I mentioned that? I feel like I haven’t mentioned it in a while and it needs to be said.
I’m also in love with David, in case you forgot. I want to join their marriage. Can I join their marriage? I’m joining their marriage. Emma, I’m your mummy now. Don’t think about the age difference too much.
I’ve eaten a lot of chocolate already today. Can you tell? I feel so alive! I want to share my social security number and be freeee!! I am trying to block out my anxiety about having to move house again next friday. Yep, that’s right, 4th place in two years. I think I will write all of these high on chocolate.
What would happen if you cut your hair with those sheers? Or your garden bush? No, that is not a euphemism, you dirty bastards (affectionate).
I haven’t had a haircut in 10 years. Holy cow! That’s why my afro is so big, it’s full of secrets.
Nemo is your dad now, Hook. Even though I’m pretty sure he’s a lot younger than you.
He called him “My boy.” hehe.
I remember when I thought Hook and Rumple had the same mother. That would have been quite the twist.
I thought that vase of flowers was a giant cauliflower. Did you know broccoli, cauliflower, cabbages, brussels sprouts and turnips are all related? I wonder what thanksgivings are like when they all get together. Probably not fun for them.
See what I did there xD?
Emma: “This is my fault. I’m the one who convinced you to bring him here. It’s on me.” Regina: “Emma, you don’t have anything to make up for. You were just trying to help.” Omg, this compared to when she told Emma she’d ruined her life because Emma saved Marian. The development. I really appreciate this change because I nearly lost it with Regina when that was her attitude.
Screw it, I’m making bean enchiladas. Brb. I’ll save you some!
I’m back! They’re in the oven. Anyone wants the recipe hmu! They’re veggie!
You just know Split Queen and Wish Robin have a sexy dungeon in their castle. They just do.
Enchanted ropes would have been useful in so many situations.
The enchiladas are ready! Repeat after me, Becky: “I will remember oven gloves this time, I will remember oven gloves this time.”
Robin is so into Split Queen. He wants her to live with him and everything, even though they just met.
I don’t think that arrow would have taken her to Robin since it takes her to the thing she loves most. She can’t love someone she’s never met. We all know it would shoot Christina right in the ass. That’s true love biatches! Evil Peasant 5ever!
Oh snap! Emma found Hook looking at himself killing her grandfather??! I completely forgot about this!
Why does she say, “That’s David’s father”? Why doesn’t she say, “That’s my grandfather,” or “That’s my dad’s dad”? She hasn’t called her dad ‘David’ in years. It’s like she’s trying to separate herself from the victim as much as possible.
She’s not even a little bit upset he killed her dad’s dad? That that event caused her father so much pain? She’s just infuriated that he tried to burn his memory. I mean, yes, she should be angry about that but where’s the empathy for her dad at least? I didn’t know any of my grandfathers well but if I found out I was engaged to someone who did that I would be angry for my grandparent, angry for my parent and angry for myself. I’m just speechless that that’s all she cares about. It seems so out of character. But then and again Regina had her other grandad killed.
And now he’s gonna leave because he rightfully got told off. Can’t say I’d offer the same thing but she said, “until you’re ready” not “you’ll never be ready”, dude.
I think he’s just scared David will punch him in the face at this point. It’s the only explanation for doing the exact opposite thing Emma asked of him.
“Captain Hook is always welcome on the Nautilus.” More like welcome on the naughty list after that stunt.
She doesn’t want a man, Henry Sr. She just confessed her deep, passionate, sexual love for Christina like 20 minutes ago, remember? Sometimes I wonder why I bother. It’s not even subtext, dude. Get it together, man.
Why don’t they fight themselves with magic?
Her dad is so heartbroken the person Regina hates most is herself.
That is really sad that the person she hates most his herself. I can relate.
Yes! Launch those apples at yourself!
My conversations with myself be like-
Oh boy. This is too reminiscent of conversations with myself. Yes, I sword fight myself wearing a fancy black, cleavage-revealing dress in my head all the time. Only joking, I wear trilby hats.
Oh okay. Now they’re tying each other up. I see what this is really about. I still haven’t bleached the “we do like it rough, don’t we Regina?” line from my mind.
I suppose she did take back some of her own darkness. But I was hoping she would just merge herself back together. That would have been a really predictable outcome, but I just would have preferred it.
This scene is so weird lol, but it helped me tremendously. I used to hate myself so, so much. You don’t even understand. It was like a violent hatred for myself for not fitting in and for every single little mistake I’d ever made. Then with a lot of self- healing and the help of this episode I began my journey into loving myself. I wrote on a sticky note “Love yourself. If the Evil Queen can do it, so can you.” and stuck it to my wall. Nothing I’ve done is comparable to what the Evil Queen has done and if she can learn to love herself, why can’t everyone else. Anyone who’s struggling with self-hatred, please take this episode to heart. You are worthy of love, most importantly from yourself. Any time you find yourself hating yourself just try to remember this scene and that the flipping Evil Queen of all people recognised the importance of self-love and didn’t give a damn what anyone else thought. She damn well gave herself a chance. I’ve heard a good technique is looking in the mirror and telling yourself what you love about you. Even if you’re not feeling it at first, you could get into the habit of it and your brain will start to accept those words as true. Because they are true.
Aww she sees the Charmings as her family.
Regina: “it did give me hope when I needed it most, and that is just as important.” Oh my God, preach the word Regina! Regina is preaching with fire today!
It’s like she’s having a therapy session with herself. I need to do that. I really do. Then I need to get actual therapy lol xD. But baby steps!
Okay. A loophole as to how he can change Split Queen’s story. You know what, at this point I’ve learnt just to go with it.
Can Snow and Zelena be best friends? Please. It’s literally all I want in life. And to join Snowing’s marriage. I’m not asking for much. I’ll talk about it in self-therapy.
Henry’s got Gideon’s haircut now. He wants to be cool like his uncle.
I want to look at myself with the love and adoration Regina looks at herself with. We should all get to that point where we look like we’re about to intensely make out with ourselves when we look in the mirror.
I know what they were doing with page 23. I just wish Split Queen had changed her outfit so it could have been exactly like the page illustration. But I don’t think it was meant to predict the future. It was just one of Isaac’s fanfictions, wasn’t it? Hmm. I think it was a mystery to him as well if I can remember correctly.
It’s nice that oq shippers got their ship in the end in one form.
Snow is just constantly high up to her eyeballs on hope, bless her.
Emma needs a dog. She seems like such a dog person.
Also, that enchilada was yumilicious, if I do say so myself.

Alya didn't understand. "But the miraculous cure brought her back" Alya explainedas she looked at her hero.
Ladybug's face was red and her hair had been chopped off honestly looked like a two year old did it. "Alya she was wearing a miraculous. It doesn't affect us the same as civilians. Alya I feel the pain of people's death when I bring them back. Did you know that? Did you realize if you are wearing a miraculous when I cast the cure that the pain of all the healed is split between us?"
It was clear to ladybug, Alya just wasn't getting it. "Turn yourself in. It will be better on everyone" she said as she turned around.
Earlier that day...
Alya had everything figured out. She would show that Chloe was a lier and a bad influence on Marinette then show her best friend how wonderful Lila.
She had easy access to the hotel because of her mother and on the off chance she was wrong there was an akuma so everything would be fixed when the cure was cast. But she knew she wasn't wrong Chloe couldn't be vegan with how often she saw her eating burgers. All she had to do was drop the hidden camera when she dropped off the ridiculous amount of food Chloe ordered.
Of course Alya was so caught up in her plan she didn't realize that the akuma was one that induced hunger or that Queen Bee was part of the battle or that all three of the active heros were presently missing from battle because they had got hit and their kwami needed to recharge.
Alya didn't notice the two figures hiding both from her and Chloe. Alya didn't pay any mind to how quickly Chloe pushed her out of the room. Alya did think it weird how Chloe seemed to be talking to someone as she closed the door but she didn't care her plan was going perfectly....
Until it wasn't.
Alya made her way out of the hotel just in time to see Queen Bee projectile vomiting on the Akuma and Ladybug holding her mouth as Chat and A NEW FOX HERO fought the Akuma and Carapace protected ladybug from the Akuma attack.
Alya made her way home just in time to see her mother watching the news. The news crew panicking Queen Bee had died from what is believed to be an allergic reaction that caused her to vomit. Alya roled her eyes. She would be fine the cure would bring her back.
Alya needed to know why she wasn't given the fox miraculous. Maybe ladybug couldn't find her... Yes that had to be it
Meanwhile Nino was panicking. Queen Bee was down. It didn't look like she was breathing. Ladybug was barely able to stand. His transformation had worn off and he was hiding. Wayzz looked panicked. "This isn't your fault"
Nino looked at the little dude."she's my girlfriend I should have known something was up. She can be impulsive and I should-" Wayzz moved to his shoulder "would she have listened to you? She's changed. She planned this without realizing the repercussions. This is not your fault."
When chat had showed up mid fight hastily explaining what had happened, he didn't have time to prosses what had happened too focused on getting to the battle on saving his friends. Now he undstood and he was horrified.
The akuma was defeated just before ladybug passed out. When the cure was caused Queen Bee started breathing again Chat instructed him to accompany her too the hospital in the ambulance while he took ladybug too the Guardian before her transformation was over.
When he was forced out by the hospital staff Chloe's parents thanked him insisted he one of their employees take him home. It had all kind blurred together until he found himself facing Chat for the second time that day "Ladybug was hospitalized too. But it's time sensitive that you, me, her, the fox hero and the Guardian see Chloe in private if she has any chance of waking up we have to perform a healing ritual. Ladybug snuck out and is talking to Chloe's parents now. For the second time that day Nino transformed.
Ladybug was left with little hair after the ritual. Chloe needed something like creation magic present in the room too keep her stable. Ladybug didn't have much practice with magic so her hair was the easiest to recharge as needed. Once it was explained to her parents they put the hair in a box and said a body guard would be brought in when they had to leave the hospital.
There was no guarantee she would wake up but there was a guarantee she would get Justice. Ladybug had told him Alya would be getting a visit. She hoped Alya would turn herself in.
Alya didn't turn herself in. She believed that everything was fine and Chloe was worrying everyone on purpose. She payed no mind to her mother coming home early and her quietly talking to her sister and father in the kitchen. "Ugh grown up talk" she mumbled to herself. If she had bothered to listen she would have known there was an investigation and her mother was the prime suspect as she made 99% of the food for Chloe.
When she went to school the next day she found it odd that Marinette, Adrian, and Nino were absent but brushed it off and talked to Lila after sending them quick texts. Sabrina mention Marinette being in the hospital but Alya played no mind Mari was her clumsy best friend. When none of them answered by lunch she began to worry. Then Nino sent a text "why did you do it?"
Alya huffed. And replied "she's faking to worry everyone" then Nino sent another text "then I suppose you believe Marinette is too. I can't see you anymore goodbye" Alya didn't understand but again brushed it off she could talk to him later. Except she couldn't because next time she saw him it was at her trial.
After Alya was arrested her story hit the news. Her blog was torn apart and Lila's lies quickly unraveled. Her and Lila faced many lawsuits from celebrities. Alya faced one attempted murder (Ladybug) and one murder since Chloe had in fact died. Though was magically brought back, she was still considered brain dead at the moment.
Lila was facing trials for much more attempted murder and assisting Hawk Moth. When her lies got out she chased a butterfly that turned out to be an illusion created by the new fox hero. And her previous akumas were very very violent.
Hawk moth took notice of the young girl suffering the same type of sleep that his wife was. Gabriel didn't know how to help his son. His childhood friend was practically gone in the same way his wife was. And he did not handle losing his wife well at all.
When Chloe woke up, she had to go through some physical therapy but when Howkmoth appeared offering peace if they could try to help a Jane Dow. Well it was a shock when Adrien was suddenly hugged by his mom a year later. Emily had to use a wheelchair but she was back and that was all that mattered.

Miraculous: Rise of Anatis 36
Only three more chapters to go til Heroes Day!! I'm very excited for that one as I think you'll love it. I have a basic plan and it's gonna be good! As you've all probably guessed, Leatherback is going to be one of the next three chapters but the other two will be Desperada and Ikari Gozen. Though Desperada's appearance will be her second akumatization in this universe. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter :D
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter Thirty-Six: Malediktator
Luka hummed softly to himself as he cycled to the Grand Paris hotel. He was on one of his delivery shifts and actually had time to complete it. He had reduced his hours at work now that he was a superhero and going to school but luckily, his boss was pretty cool and understood. He only got two shifts a week and luckily it seemed that Hawkmoth didn't tend to target people on a Thursday and a Saturday. That or his luck was coming into play. Now that he thought about it, it was probably his luck that he hadn't had his shifts disturbed yet but he certainly wasn't complaining. He pulled up at the Grand Paris and jumped off his bike, locking it up. Tikki flew into his hoodie as he took his helmet then grabbed the final box. It was his last delivery for the evening. He walked up to the doorman and smiled.
"Delivery for Chloe Bourgeois," He stated, making the doorman nod and let him in. He walked through the hotel and checked his phone to make sure she had paid. He got into the lift and rode it up to the floor she lived in. As soon as he exited the lift, he heard screaming and shouting. He frowned as he walked towards the door. Tikki popped her out.
"Is it an akuma?" She asked, making him shake his head.
"No, it's someone arguing," He mumbled as the door slammed open. Tikki quickly hid and Luka blinked as Audrey Bourgeois stared at him before lifting her arm and tracing her eyes at his outfit. He could literally feel her judging him.
"What a trashy outfit," She scoffed, turning her nose up at it before she waved her hand at him in a dismissive manor. "You're fired,"
"I don't work for you," He stated, making her blink and stare at him before she glared at him.
"How dare you talk to me like that?! I'm the queen of style-"
"And I really don't care. I'm tired and I have other things to do so either take this or move out my way," He stated, making her blink again as he took out his phone and send the text to let Chloe know her food was here.
 "Now listen here, you-"
"Mum! Could you just not have a go at my school friends?! Go argue more with Dad," Chloe suddenly stated, making her blink for the third time as she grabbed his arm and pulled him into the room, closing the door behind them. She let out a sigh before taking the sushi box from him before pointing towards the window. "If you go out that way, you can take the lift into the restaurant and avoid my mother,"
"Thank you," He muttered, turning to walk out of her balcony doors but he stopped and frowned a little. Chloe had moved to her bed and was slowly eating the sushi but something felt a little off to him. He wasn't sure if it was his best idea but he turned around and cleared his throat, causing her to look up at him. "Uh... are you ok? You seem... off?"
"Because I'm been nice?" She asked, sharply and defensively. "Well, even I can be nice you know. I am trying to change,"
"That's not what I meant," He stated, making her look at him. "You seem out of tune,"
"Out of tune?" She asked, confused. He frowned as it wasn't the right words. "How can I be out of tune? I'm not a musical instrument,"
"Sorry... I meant like sad... you seem sad..." He replied, making her eyes widen in shock before she looks down, a sad expression coming on her face. Luka sighed and turned to walk away. "Never mind..."
"Mama wants to go back to New York with me but Daddy doesn't want us to leave Paris," She admitted, making him stop and look at her. "They've been arguing non stop about it for a couple of days. I'm sure you heard the shouting when you got out of the lift. Mama was trying to convince me to go with her but when I said I wasn't sure I wanted to leave, she started to shout at me,"
"Why aren't you sure?" He asked without meaning to but she sighed and hugged her legs. "I mean Paris is cool but New York would be pretty cool too,"
"I like Paris..." She admitted, sighing. "I know I don't have many friends in Paris but since the whole Queen Wasp incident, I've been going to therapy and it's really helping just having someone to talk to.... but Daddy is the one paying for it as Mama doesn't believe I need it. I know if I go to New York with her, I won't get the help I need plus she just brush me off like she always does,"
"Well, it sounds like me that you're not unsure at all. You clearly want to stay in Paris so tell her that," He replied, making her look at him. "As for having no friends, you can always try to make some,"
"Most people believe I haven't changed," She admits, looking down again. "That's why I snapped at you. I thought you were like them but you seem different,"
"Well, you still have far to go but I can see quite clearly that you're trying your best so I think it's only fair to give you a chance. Besides, we never really got a chance to introduce ourselves to each other," He smiled before holding out his hand. Chloe blinked and looked at him in surprise. "I'm Luka Couffaine. It's nice to meet you,"
"Uh... Chloe Bourgeois," She replied, taking his hand and shaking it. "It's nice to meet you as well. I'm right in thinking you're friends with Marinette?"
"Yeah," He smiled, causing her to look nervous. "You should talk to her and I don't just mean about the dress you've commissioned her for. She is a great person and if you give her a chance, you might find a real friend in her,"
"I was her bully for years..."
 "Then apologize for that,"
 "She won't accept it,"
"She doesn't have to," He replied, making her look at him in surprise. "But that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Just by trying you can show her and the rest of the school that you really have changed. Anyway, I should get going as I have some more errands to run but Chloe, don't give up ok?"
She nodded as he headed to the door and walked over, giving her a nod. Audrey had gone and he could hear shouting in the distance as he walked over to the lift. He pressed the button and waited for the lift to arrive, stepping in it as soon as it did. Once the doors closed, Tikki poked her head out.
"That was some good advice you gave, Chloe," She smiled, making him smile a little as well.
"She does seem to be improving but she has a long way to go," He admitted, making Tikki nod. "I just hope she's able to tell her mother that she needs to stay. I'd hate to see revert back to how she was before,"
"Me too," Tikki admitted before hiding in his jacket as the lift came to a stop. He walked over of the building and unlocked his bike before placing his helmet on. He took out his phone, marked Chloe's food as delivered before using the company's app to clock out. He placed his phone back in his pocket before cycling off. He had one last errant to do and that was pick up some macaroons and cookies for Tikki. He stopped outside of the bakery and parked his bike, taking off his helmet and placing it inside. He walked over to the door and pushed it open, causing the bell to ring.
"Welcome to- Hello, Luka," Sabine smiled as he walked up to the counter. "How are you?"
"I'm good, Mrs Cheng. Thank you for asking," He smiled.
"That's good to know, dear," She smiled back. "If you're here to see Marinette, you just missed her. She just left for Alya's,"
"That's ok, Mrs Cheng. I'll message her later," He replied, nodding. He would be able to hang with Marinette another day as they both had plans tonight. She was sleeping over at Alya's with the girl squad and he had his shift then had to go on patrol. Of course, he didn't tell her about the patrol part. "I actually came in to buy some cookies and macarons,"
"You do seemed fond of them. The usual flavors?" She asked, making him nod. "As I recall, they're for your friend?"
"Yes, she has a huge sweet tooth,"
"Are you and her close?" She asked as she bagged them up.
"Yes, she's like a little sister to me," He smiled as he glanced at the rest of the food on display. Sabine smiled a little at his answer. "Can I have two eclairs as well?"
"Of course, dear," She replied, getting them for him. "You already have a little sister, don't you? Juleka? Was it?"
"Yeah but I have a habit of kind of been a big brother to people. I basically adopted Rose as my little sister and Tik- Tina... my friend who likes the cookies," He smiled, mentally sweating at almost saying Tikki's name. "Rose is practically my sister in law at this point anyway. How much do I owe you, Mrs Cheng?"
"You can call me Sabine, dear," She smiled before ringing up the items. "22.45 euros, please?"
He smiled and paid before taking the sweets and leaving the shop, waving goodbye to Sabine. He placed them in the basket and put his helmet back on before cycling off back to the Seine. The sun was beginning to set once he got to the Liberty. He locked his bike up and climbed on board, walking downstairs as he hummed to himself. Anarka looked up from her notepad as he placed an Eclair in front of her as he smiled.
"Have you had any dinner yet?" He asked, making her look at the time. She frowned and stretched.
"Nothing yet," She replied, making him frown. "Been working hard on a new song. Wanna read while I order take out?"
"Sure, ma," He smiled, picking up the note pad and glancing over the scribbles and notes as she put in their usual order. He put it down as she walked back over.
 "What do you think?"
"Sounds good so far," He smiled, making her smile. "You'll show me the finished piece right?"
"Of course," She mumbled, making him nod before she claps her hand. "That reminds me. I have a job interview,"
"You do?" He asked, frowning a little. Either she's decided to cure her boredom by getting a second job or money is tight. Sometimes that was the case with their lifestyle. Writing and selling songs were good if people wanted to buy them but not everyone did and of course, Bob Roth made it rather difficult for her to sell songs. Sometimes, they were times where it was hard to make ends meet. That's why Luka got his job in the first place but of course, he has reduced hours now. "Is everything ok?"
"Nothing for you to worry about, Lad," She smiled. "We're up to date with bills and the usual things that cost money but it wouldn't do us any hard if I have a second job,"
"So what's the job?" He asked.
"Just some part shop work," She stated, making him frown. "It's nothing to worry about, Lad,"
"Alright but if money gets too bad, I can always pick up some more shifts,"
"You don't need to," She explained. "And you have school to worry about,"
 "If you say so, ma,"
 ~Monday~
"Mr Couffaine, are you listening?" Ms Mendeleiev asked, making Luka look up from his notes and nod. She rose an eyebrow. "Then repeat what I said,"
"You were explaining the difference between an atom and an ion," He replied, making her look at him with surprise before he lifted his book, showing his notes. Kagami smiled at him as Ms Mendeleiev nodded in approval.
"Good that you're taking notes, Mr Couffaine," She replied before continuing with her lesson. Luka looked back down and smiled at the text he received from Marinette before sending her a reply, saying that he almost got caught so he'll talk to her at lunch. He slid his phone into his pocket and tried to pay attention to the rest of the lesson. Finally, the bell for lunch rang. He slid his notes into his bag and began to leave for the canteen.
"Luka," Kagami called, making him look over at her. She was holding her bag, looking calm as usual. "Adrien mentioned you are joining us for lunch today,"
"Yeah, Marinette invited me," He smiled, making her nod. "You don't mind, do you?"
"No, I do not," She tried her best to smile. "Perhaps we can walk to the canteen together?"
"Sure," He smiled, slinging his bag over his shoulder and walking out with her. They walked in silence, making him bite his lip as he wasn't sure what to say to her but it was Kagami that broke the silence.
"I'm glad you're not longer sick and have returned to school," She stated, making him look at her in surprise. "Marinette seemed worried about you,"
"Yeah... Marinette saw why I was off," He mumbled, playing with his strap of his bag. "But I'm ok now,"
"She cares a lot for you," Kagami stated, surprising him. "And I'm certain you care for her,"
"I do," He mumbled, looking to the side with a slight blush.
"You should tell her," She stated, making him look at her in shock. It's not that he didn't like Kagami or that he thought she was bad but in a way, she was similar to Chloe. In other words, an acquired taste and while he was happy to be his friend, he didn't necessarily want to have this conversation with her. It was bad enough that Juleka, Rose, Ivan and Mylene had given him lectures about talking to Marinette about his feelings. Now Kagami was going to. He would not be surprised if at some point, Adrien pulls him aside and tells him off.  "It is obvious that you are in love with her,"
"She's in love with someone else," He mumbled, looking down.
"Yes, Adrien. I'm aware of her crush," She stated in a matter of a fact tone. "But Adrien isn't the only person to have captured her interest and he is unavailable to her. Adrien cares for Marinette but he only sees her as a friend,"
"Then maybe he should tell her that!" He snapped, making her look at him. "Sorry... I didn't mean that..."
"No, you are quite correct," She stated, making him frown. "Adrien doesn't understand social ques like the rest of the students here but even so, he should explain to Marinette that he only views her as a friend and that he only ever will. I shall tell him t-"
"No," Luka gasped, causing her to look at him. He looks down as Kagami frowns.
"I am confused," She stated. "Having Adrien tell Marinette that he only cares for her as a friend would eliminate him as a contender for her heart, meaning you would be to win her heart. Do you not want that?"
"Not like that," He admitted, making her look at him. "Marinette deserves better then that. She doesn't deserve to have her heart broken. Yes, Adrien isn't interested in her and he should tell her that he likes her as a friend but not like that. He shouldn't just crush her heart so I can pick up the pieces. I do not want to have her love because of that. I do not want to be her second choice and I would never make a move on her while she was heartbroken. I have too much respect for her to do that. If Marinette wants to love me, I want her to come to that conclusion on her own,"
"You really do love her," She stated, making him look at her. Was that a test? He rose an eyebrow as they walked into the canteen and shook his head, waving at Marinette when he saw her. She waved back, smiling brightly as she did. Alya was sat next to her, talking to Nino. Luka was glad to see that the two girls hadn't fallen out over the Reverser incident. Speaking of which, Marc had joined their table, happily talking to Nathaniel and Alix. Juleka was leaning on Rose as she gushed about something to Ivan and Mylene. Adrien was sat next to Nino and smiled as Kagami joined, leaving the spare seat next to Marinette. Luka moved over and sat down, happily taking out his lunch as he listened to the different conversations going on. However, the talking stopped as Chloe walked over. She looked extremely nervous and was looking to the side. She looked up and glanced at Luka, surprising him a little but he gave her an encouraging smile.
"Um... I was hoping I could talk to you, Dup- I mean Marinette..." She mumbled, making Marinette look at her in surprised. Alya crossed her arms and glared at her but Marinette cleared her throat.
"I'm listening, Chloe," She stated in a calm voice. Chloe took a deep breathe.
"I wanted to apology for my behavior in the past," She stated, making everyone on the table look at her in surprise. "I was a terrible person and took out my own hurt on you. I understand that you probably won't forgive me and I don't blame you for that. In fact, I apologize to everyone at this table. Mylene, I'm sorry I made fun of your fear, Rose, I'm sorry that I made fun of your perfume and torn up your letter to Prince Ali... Ivan, I'm sorry for teasing you about liking Mylene. I actually think you two make a really cute couple. Nino and Alya, I'm sorry for been mean to you for no real reason or snapping at you. Nathaniel, I'm sorry for stealing your art and making you feel bad about having a crush on Marinette..."
She turned to face Juleka, who looked frightened.
"Juleka... I'm sorry that I got Sabrina to trap you in the bathroom. I was so desperate to stand next to Adrien that I didn't care who I hurt but I realize now how wrong I was," She mumbled, causing Juleka to go bright red before she turned to Marinette. "Marinette... I'm sorry for all the years I bullied you and belittled you... I was jealous of you... you are kind, sweet and having loving parents... you had everything I didn't and I hated you for it..."
"Chloe..." Marinette stated but Chloe shook her head, tears in her eyes.
"I am a terrible person and I don't deserve your forgiveness so I understand if you reject my apologies," She stated, wiping her eyes. "But I hope that maybe you'll let me earn your friendships and that we can start again,"
She looked up and held out her hand with a sad smile on her face.
"Hi, I'm Chloe Bourgeois... it's nice to meet you," She stated in a similar manner to how Luka done to her when he delivered her food but she wasn't expect anyone to shake her hand back. She was just giving them a chance to start again if they wanted. The group look around confused but Marinette was the first to get to her feet. She walked over to Chloe and stood in front of her, causing the girl to blink as she looked at her.
"I accept your apology, Chloe," She smiled before taking her hand and shaking it. "I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng. It's nice to meet you too, Chloe. I hope we can become good friends,"
"Thank you," She whispered, more tears appearing in her eyes. Marinette smiled as Juleka stood up and shook Chloe's hand, reintroducing herself. The rest of the class did the same. Though Rose didn't actually shake her hand. Instead she just hugged Chloe, causing the girl to pat her head before she sat down. Marinette smiled as Chloe wiped away her tears before gesturing to the spare seat.
"Why don't you join us for lunch?" She asked, making Chloe blink and look at the seat before pointing at herself.
"You want me to join you?" She asked but it wasn't in a malicious tone. She just sounded surprise. Marinette smiled and nodded. "Thank you,"
"Do you have a lunch?" Rose asked, making Chloe shake her head.
"Usually I go back to the hotel to have lunch with Daddy if he's not busy," She explained, glancing to the side. Luka frowned a little as he suspected that her father was almost always busy and he highly doubted her mother ate with her. He felt Tikki push a cookie into his hand, causing him to glance down. She smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up.
"Here, you can have this. It isn't much but it's better then nothing," He smiled, handing her to the cookie. Chloe went to take it but hesitated as she was sure he would snatch it from her but when he didn't, she took it.
"Thank you," She mumbled before Marinette handed her a croissant and part of her sandwich. She looked up at her. "Are you sure?"
"Well, a cookie isn't enough to fill you up," She smiled, gently nudging Luka who smiled back. Chloe thanked her and the conversation began again. Marinette turned to Luka. "So I wanted to ask you a favor?"
"Oh?" He replied, making her press her fingers together.
"I was hoping that maybe you could show me the basics of guitar..." She mumbled, rubbing the back of her neck. He looked at her in surprise. "If you're not busy... you're probably busy..."
"I'd love to show you," He smiled but before either of them to could continue, the sound of a helicopter got their attention. All of the students rushed out to see what was going on as the guitar landed in the school grounds. Mr Damocles rushed over as Audrey Bourgeois got out of it. Chloe frowned as Mr Damocles tried to tell her that she couldn't land the helicopter there. However, she just ignored him and walked over to Chloe.
"Chloe, get in the helicopter. We're going to New York," She ordered, making the girl frown.
"Mum, I told you already I don't want to go to New York," Chloe explained, making her mouth frown.
"Don't be ridiculous, Chloe," She replied in a bored manner. "Of course, you want to go to New York. Now get in the helicopter. I haven't got all day,"
Chloe sighed and began to walk to the helicopter with her shoulders slumped but Luka frowned and gently grabbed her wrist, making her look at him in surprise before he let go.
"Chloe, you don't have to listen to her," Luka stated, causing Audrey to lower her glasses and glare at him. "You don't have to go,"
"Well, trash like you wouldn't understand," She stated, causing everyone to glare at her. Luka crossed his arms and glared at her.
"I'm not the one who isn't listening to my daughter, Mrs Bourgeois," He pointed out, making her frown as she glared at him. She expected him to back down but he glared back. Chloe frowned and looked at the group, expecting to tell her to go but Marinette walked and gently took her hand, giving her a reassuring smile.
"Luka is right, Chloe. You don't have to go," She declares before turning to Audrey who was still looking at Luka like he was trash. "And don't call my friend trash! Luka is the most kind hearted and gentle person I know and he is far from 'trash' as you put it!"
"Melody..." Luka mumbled, looking at her with surprise as a blush came across his face.
"Oh, I know you. Margret was it?" Audrey asked, frowning. "Well, I'm glad I didn't take you on as my protege in New York if this fashion mistake is your friend. Clearly, none of you understand fashion,"
"That may be the case but at least, I understand how to be a decent human being!" Luka growled, surprising everyone. "Something that you clearly have no idea about giving how you treat people!"
 "How dare you tal-"
"How dare I?! No, how dare you!" He shouted, making her step back in surprise. "First, you demand your daughter to go with you, despite the fact that she told you no then you insult me and finally,"
 He pointed to Marinette.
"Her name is Marinette! Not Margret!" He growled, making him frown. "And I'm glad she never went with you to New York because she deserves better then you and so does Chloe! Both of them have more talent in their little finger then you've ever had in your entire career! You are a selfish and egotistical woman so it's no surprise that Chloe doesn't want to go to New York with you!"
Everyone stared at him in surprise as both Marinette and Chloe blushed a little. Though Marinette was blushing a little more. However, Audrey looked more angry then she did before but before she could say anything, a man burst through the door.
"Chloe!" He shouted, making everyone look at him in surprise as he walked over. On his head, he wore a dark blue bicorne and light blue skin. He was wearing a dark blue jacket with a cowl going over most of his head except the bottom of his nose and his mouth. The jacket itself had black and purple markings on the shoulders and his right arm had a yellow armor-like shoulder with black stripes. However, the rest of the arm was dark blue with a bent white and red stripe just below the elbow. Across his chest, he had a blue, white, and red sash with a large blue, white, and red circle attached at the center. Also, he was also wearing white trousers and dark blue boots. Luka narrowed his eyes and quickly glanced around. It was clear he was the akuma but right now, Luka couldn't see a chance to escape. The akuma was looking around in disgust as he walked over before looking at Chloe. "Chloe, my daughter! You are not leaving for New York,"
"Daddy?" She asked, shocked as he smiled at her.
"Yes, sweetie," He smiled. "Now I have the power to make sure you have the best possible life. We'll start by getting rid of this awful school and their students. You're above those nasty little rats anyway. Now come with me, sweetie,"
"Uhhh," Chloe gasped, clearly scared as he held out his hand.
"André, getting yourself akumatized like everyone else in this city does not make you a 'cool' or 'hip' father," Audrey stated in her usual attitude, causing André to frown deeply before he lifted his two of his fingers to his mouth as she continued to rant.
"By the power invested in me, I declare that you will be devoted to this family and remain in Paris with me and Chloe," He spoke, creating a small ball of light as he did before he threw it at her. Instantly, she stopped talking and rushed over to him.
"Oh yes! My dear hubby!" She gasped, leaning against him and rubbing her cheek against his chest. "I'm so happy to stay here!"
She jumped up and began to kiss his nose as she wrapped her arms around his neck, causing everyone including Chloe to stare in shock at the action. The akuma smirked before turning to Chloe.
"Now, Chloe, why don't you come here?" He smiled as Audrey leaned against him, hugging his arm. "We can finally get rid of this god awful place,"
"But... Daddy, I like it here..." She gasped, making him blink. "And while I don't want to go to New York, I can't stay with you as an akuma,"
"Sweetie, I'll give you one more chance to come to me willingly," He stated in a menacing way. "Come here,"
"No!" She shouted, making him frown deeply. Luka glanced around as he really needed to get to a place to transform. His luck vision kicked in, lighting up all of the students and giving him an idea. Since the akuma's attention was on Chloe, who was slowly backing away, he leaned over to Nino who was stood next to him, looking shocked and frightened.
"Hey, when I shout scram, run in a random direction," He whispered, making Nino look at him. "Pass it on,"
Nino nodded and whispered it to Adrien and Alya, who in turn told others including the teachers. It finally reached Marinette who grinned and gave Luka a discreet thumbs up as the akuma lifted his fingers to his mouth. Luka nodded to Marinette.
"By the power invested in me, I declare-"
"Scram!" Luka shouted, causing all of the students to run in a random direction. He grabbed Chloe's arm and dragged her to the locker room as the rest of the students confused the akuma. He pushed her inside and closed the door, leaning against it as he turned to her. "Go out the window now!"
"Thank you," She gasped before she climbed up and out of the window as the akuma called for her before he began to head to the locker room. As soon as she was out, he moved from the door and hid inside a locker, holding his breathing as the akuma kicked open the door.
"Chloe! Where are you?!" He growled, looking around as Audrey came in. "She isn't in here,"
"Don't worry, sweetie. We'll find her,"
"Of course, we will but let's get rid of this awful school. Maybe then she will see what a wonderful father I am," He replied, leaving with his wife. Luka let out a sigh before opening his jacket, allowing Tikki to fly out.
 "Trouble?" She asked.
"Chloe's father has been akumatized," He replied before swiping his earring. "Tikki, spots on!"
A red glow engulfed him, turning him into Anatis. He climbed out of the locker and out of the window before throwing his yoyo and pulling himself onto the roof as the other students began to destroy the school. Anatis narrowed his eyes as he looked around. Most of the students had been affected by whatever order the akuma had given them and were trashing the school but a few of them weren't among them. Marinette wasn't there and neither was Rose. However, Juleka, Adrien, Kagami and the rest of his friendship group were. The akuma smirked as he looked around before throwing a ball of light at Sabrina.
"By the power invested in me, I order you to find Chloe and bring her to me," He ordered, causing her to bow.
"Yes, Malediktator!" She declared before running off, causing Anatis to frown as Lady Noir jumped down onto the helicopter's blades.
"Do you have a permit to destroy this school?" She asked, crossing her arms as she glared at him.
"I don't need a permit!" He declared, making both heroes frown. "I am Malediktator, the all powerful super-mayor of Paris and this is my city!!"
"Hate to burst your bubble but Paris doesn't belong to you alone!" Anatis called as he swung over to the helicopter and landed next to Lady Noir. "It belongs to everyone!"
The two of them dived at him and began to fight him. Anatis threw his yoyo and wrapped it around Malediktator's wrist, pulling his arm back as Lady Noir tried to hit him with her baton but Malediktator blocked it with his free arm and tried to kick her. She dodged it but he grabbed her baton and used it to throw her across the playground. She flipped and landed on her feet as he grabbed a bench and tried to hit Anatis with it but he jumped out the way before it could hit him and landed next to Lady Noir. Malediktator growled and lifted his fingers.
"By the power invested in me, I declare that your miraculous are my property!" He shouted, summoning to light balls and throwing them towards Anatis and Lady Noir. The two heroes dodged and dived out of the way of them, causing them to head up to the roof and duck down behind the brickwork.
"Any idea where the akuma is?" Lady Noir asked as he looked around to see where they had gone.
"I'm thinking it's in his sash," Anatis mumbled before throwing his yoyo up. "Lucky charm!"
He frowned as he caught the abacus, causing Lady Noir to raise an eyebrow at him.
"Your lucky charms get weirder and weirder," She replies, making him smile a little.
"Tell me about it," He grinned before glancing around in his luck vision but nothing lit up. "Nothing up here is gonna help us,"
"Then let's get a little closer," She replied, getting a nod of him as he went hooked it to his belt but Lady Noir placed her hand on his arm. "You work out what to do with that while I keep the mayor busy,"
She dived down and threw her baton at him as Anatis looked around, trying to work out how to use the abacus. He frowned deeply as he glanced around the playground and school area yet not a single thing lit up. Frowning, he glanced at the abacus and examined it. What exactly what was he to do with it? Why that particular item? It did look familiar but he couldn't place it. It was probably in one of the classrooms. Either way, he was definitely gonna have words with Tikki when he was done here. Seriously, how was he suppose to defeat Malediktator with this when his power could cause him to literally surrender his miraculous without a fight? If anything, he would need something that would immobile Malediktator first but this wouldn't help him do that. If anything, he would need to go to Master Fu and get the Bee Miraculous. His eyes widen in understanding before he examined the abacus to be certain. It was almost identical to Master Fu's abacus expect for the ladybug pattern. Like the time with the teapot, it became very obvious what he needed to do. He looked up to call back Lady Noir as she dodged a ball of light and jumped up to the first floor. She dived towards Malediktator with her baton, ready to hit him but he spun round and threw a ball of light at her.
"By the power invested in me," Malediktator smirked as it hit her, causing her to land on the ground. "I declare you are a cat!"
She suddenly meowed and began to play with a can on the floor, moving it around with her hand.
"Oh, no," Anatis groaned as he watched.
"Oh, what a cutie pie," Audrey gasped before she leaned down and called her over. "Here, kitty, kitty,"
Lady Noir glanced up at her before cautiously moving over. Audrey grinned and began to stroke her hair and ears as she leaned into her. Anatis frowned and took out his yoyo as Malediktator moved over but Lady Noir hissed and hid behind Audrey before trying to scratch him when he went to take her miraculous. Anatis smirked as he watched before frowning. If he wanted to rescue Lady Noir, he would have to get the Bee miraculous. However, he didn't want to leave her with Malediktator. He tried to grab her ring again but she hissed and scratched his hand, causing him to pull back his hand with a yelp of pain.
"Kitty still has claws," Anatis mumbled as his earrings beeped. He frowned, taking out his yoyo and standing on the edge of the building. "Kitten, I'll be back soon I promise!!"
He threw his yoyo and swung to another roof before running as fast as he could in the direction of Master Fu's house. He jumped across to another roof and slid down the tiles before throwing his yoyo and wrapping it around a flag pole. He swung across to another roof and landed on it before running and jumping across a gap. He back-flipped off a wall and into an alley near to Master Fu's shop just before his transformation dropped. He caught Tikki before running to the shop and pushing open the door.
"Master Fu!" He gasped, causing the man to jump and glance at him as he caught his breathe. "A villain has transformed Lady Noir into a cat,"
"What?" He gasped, shocked before shaking his head. "Perhaps you shouldn't have left her by herself. She's at Hawkmoth's mercy,"
"I know but the lucky charm told me to come here," He replied, causing Master Fu to make a thinking face. "I think I need help for this mission,"
"It seems so," He replied, getting up and walking to the phonograph. "After all, the lucky charm never fails,"
He unlocked the phonograph and took out the miracle box, bringing it over to Luka and placing it on the ground. Luka knelt down in front of it as Master Fu opened it, causing the different draws to pop out and show the miraculous hidden inside. Despite seeing this before, Luka found himself amazed again. It was interesting to watch the box open and to know what the miraculous did.
"Luka Couffaine, pick an ally you can trust to fight along side you in this mission," He declared as Luka glanced at all of them but he knew exactly which one to take. He needed the bee. "Choose wisely. Such powers are meant to be serve the greater good,"
"I need someone who isn't impressed by power and sees people on face value," He muttered, reaching for the bee as Master Fu gave him a concerned look. He hesitated before glancing up at Tikki, who gave him a reassuring smile. He smiled back and picked up the hair comb.
"Are you sure?" Master Fu asked, causing Luka to nod.
"I need to trap Malediktator and the bee's power is the best chance at that," He replied, getting up and walking to the draw where the smaller boxes were kept. He took one out and placed the hair comb inside.
"But is it really a good idea giving it back to... her?" He asked as Luka put the small box in his pocket.
"Don't worry, Master," He smiled in a reassuring manner. "I know how to make good use of it this time,"
With that, he left with Tikki and headed to the alleyway.
"How we will find Chloe?" She asked, making him shake his head.
"We're not," He replied, making her glance at him as he took out a macaron and handed it to her. "I told Chloe I can't give her this miraculous back and I have to keep to that. Plus Hawkmoth will probably expect me to go to her. Since she is Malediktator's target, the two of them may set up a trap to lure me there. There's also a high chance that Chloe has already been controlled by Malediktator since he sent Sabrina after her,"
"So trying to find Chloe is a bad idea," Tikki nodded as she ate the cookie.
 "Exactly,"
"But who are you gonna give it to?" She asked, swallowing the last bit. "You said you need someone who isn't impressed by power and takes people on face value,"
"Don't worry, Tikki, I know just the person. You good?" He asked, causing her to nod. "Alright. Tikki! Spots on!!"
He transformed back into Anatis and threw his yoyo up, pulling himself onto the rooftops and running as fast as he could back to the school. He landed on the roof and glanced around. It looked like Malediktator had left, taking his wife and Lady Noir with him but the students were still around, trying to destroy the school. He glanced around and noticed Sabrina had joined them but Chloe wasn't around. Frowning to himself, he looked around and spotted Rose, trying to stop Juleka from destroying the art room. He swung down and landed near by.
"They've been mind controlled by Malediktator," He stated, making Rose gasp and turn around in surprise. She honestly looked like she was about to squeal at his appearance. "But there is a way you can help them,"
"There is?!" She gasped, making him nod.
"This way," He replied, jumping down to the courtyard and heading into the locker room. Rose came in a few seconds later as he glanced around to make sure no one else was in here and that they were out of the way of cameras. Once certain that it was just them, he took out his yoyo and opened it before reaching in and taking out the box as Rose watched before he held it out to her, causing her eyes to widen in surprise.
"Rose Lavillant, here is the bee miraculous, which grants the power to immobilize your opponent," He declared, making her eyes go huge as she realized what he was offering to her. "You will use it for the greater good,"
"Me?" She asked, shocked before making a thinking expression. "But doesn't the bee miraculous belong to Chloe?"
"No, Chloe wrongly took the miraculous and is currently unfit to wield one. However, if she continues to right her wrongs and change her ways, I am willing to give her a second chance," He explained, making Rose nod. "Do you accept the miraculous?"
"Yes!" She grinned, taking it and opening it. She gasped in surprise as a golden light appeared from within and circled around her before transforming into Pollen, making her coo.
"Hello, my queen," Pollen smiled, making Rose gush about her cute she is. "My name is Pollen,"
"You're so adorable," Rose gushed. "But what are you?"
"I'm a kwami, my queen," She explained, bowing a little. "I grant magical powers that transforms one into a superhero,"
Rose squealed, making Anatis smiled before he cleared his throat, causing both Rose and Pollen to look at him.
"Once the job is complete, you will return the miraculous to me," He explained before looking at her. "Can I trust you, Rose?"
"Yes, Anatis! I will do my best!" She declared with a lot of energy, making him smile.
"My queen, to transform you just need say Pollen, buzz on," Pollen explained as Rose listened before she fixed the comb into her hair before looking up at Anatis, who gave her a smile and a nod.
"Pollen, buzz on!" She declared, causing Pollen to be sucked into the hair comb. She threw her head back as it became a more honey blonde then black strips appeared in it. She held up her arms as a golden light appeared from her feet, creating her suit as it traveled up her body. The suit was completely yellow but a second light appeared, creating some detail on her suit. It gave her black gloves, turned part of her legs black and added a couple of extra strips on her suit as well. She had two symmetrical ones on her upper arms and thighs, a pointed strip on on around her waist and a black choker around her neck. Her shoes resembled a ballerina's and she had the spin-top around her waist. She swiped her hand across her face, creating her mask which was mostly black but had a yellow boarder. With the transformation over, she examined herself before squealing. "I'm a superhero!!"
"You're gonna need a name," Anatis smiled, making her look at him before she pulled her thinking face.
"Abeille," She declared, causing him nod to in approval.
"Abeille... nice," He smiled before taking out his yoyo and searching it on it. He frowned as he watched a video of Malediktator who seemed to have taken control of the city hall. He also had Chloe and his wife at his side as well as Lady Noir. He frowned and put his yoyo away before turning to Abeille. "Alright, I'm gonna be frank with you, Abeille. Malediktator is a very tough enemy. He has the ability to make anyone do what he wants and he has Lady Noir captured,"
 "Oh no,"
"Which is why I needed to get you," He continued before pointing to her spin top. "The spin-top is your weapon. Similar to my yoyo, it has multiple functions and can be used to help you move through the city. You can also spin it really fast to create a shield and use it to tie up enemies. It can be used as a phone and GPS locator as well as other thing. You also have the power to immobilize your opponent. You can activate this by pulling the spin top's string and saying venom but don't do it yet. You only get to use this power once and then you have five minutes before you transform back. Got it?"
"Yes, sir," She grinned, making him smile. "But how do you plan to get defeat Malediktator?"
"We need to get you close enough to use venom on him," He replied, making her nod before taking out his yoyo and showing her the footage. "But as you can see, he has taken over city hall and turned it into his fortress. If we go in head first, we'll be captured. We need to get close enough to observe him but not close enough to alert him off our presence,"
"Why don't we hide on the building opposite city hall?" She asked, making him smile.
"That's a good idea," He replied, moving over to the window and opening it before jumping out of it. Abeille followed him as he swung across to the city. The two of them jumped across the buildings and ran across the rooftops, causing Rose to want to squeal in excitement. She almost crashed into a wall but Anatis grabbed her arm and pulled her away from it. "Try to keep your head in the game, Abeille,"
"I'm sorry, Anatis," She gasped as they jumped over another wall. "It's just... this is so exciting!!"
"I get it," He smiled as they came closer to the city hall. They landed on the building opposite it and ducked down, causing him to frown as he saw Malediktator sat on a throne atop of the building. He had his wife and Chloe sat near him and Lady Noir curled up by his feet. Anatis frowned deeply as he glanced at her. While he was glad she was ok, he felt annoyed at the fact that Malediktator literally had her as his pet. He shook his head and moved his eyes over to the swat team that were acting as his guard. Suddenly, two balls of light flew towards them, causing the two of them to jump away from the hiding place as Malediktator smirked.
"Did you think I wouldn't notice you there, Anatis?" He asked before creating two new ones. "By the power invested in me, I declare your miraculous are mine!"
Anatis and Abeille jumped, avoiding the balls of light before the two of them threw their weapons at him but the swat team blocked it, making Anatis frown before they landed on the edge of the building. Abeille back-flipped away as Anatis ran in the other direction, jumping across to Malediktator. He tried to land a kick on him but once again, the swat team protected him. He swung away as Abeille took down some of the swat team but she had to jump away when Malediktator directed a ball of light towards her. He turned his attention back on Anatis as he swung up before turning his body and throwing his yoyo towards Malediktator. For the third time, the swat team blocked him, causing him to jump back as he dodged a ball of light. However, Malediktator stopped focusing on him and Abeille as Hawkmoth talked to him before smirking at the super villain's suggestion. He began to make a new ball of light.
"By the power invested in me," He stated, lifting it into the air and make it increase in size. "I declare you all my slaves!"
Abeille gasped as he made the ball of light massive, causing Anatis to frown.
"We can't dodge that one, Anatis!" She gasped in fear.
"He's going to take over the city," He mumbled, frowning. Abeille jumped up and threw her spin top at Malediktator but once again, the guard blocked it. Anatis whistled as she tried to kick the guard, causing her to jump back over to him as they hid on the building behind him. "Directly attacking isn't going to work,"
"So what do we do?" She asked.
"You need to get past that guard and get his sash. That's were the akuma is," He muttered, thinking before he took out his yoyo. "And to do that, we're gonna need a bit of luck... Lucky charm!"
He threw his yoyo up in the air, summoning the magic bugs. He blinked in surprise as he caught the large machine gun.
"Are we going to shoot him?" Abeille asked, making him frown as he glanced around for the answer. He smirked when Malediktator lit up, followed by Lady Noir. He glanced down at the gun and smiled as the laser was highlighted and finally, Abeille. He broke off the laser part and dumped the rest of the gun aside.
"As if I'd use violence," He grinned, spinning it in his fingers. "I'll deal with the guard, you sting our esteemed mayor,"
"Aye, aye, Captain," She grinned, saluting him before spinning her spin top, causing it to glow yellow. "Venom!!"
She caught it as it pulsed before nodding at Anatis before the two of them jumped over to separate buildings. Abeille laid in wait as Anatis clicked the laser near Lady Noir, causing her to notice it and try to catch it with her hand. He smirked as he moved it, causing her to chase it as she repeatedly tried to capture it. He directed it on the back of one of the swat team, causing her to jump on him and knock him down. It also caused Malediktator to notice but he couldn't move as his bubble would become ineffective. Smirking to himself, Anatis moved it across the backs of the guard, causing Lady Noir to take them all out and knock them off the building as she chased the laser. Malediktator panicked and tried to tell her to stop but Anatis continued to move the laser until all of the swat team was off hanging off the building. He blinked it twice, giving Abeille a signal. She jumped out from her hiding place and dived at Malediktator, slamming the spin top into the middle of his chest before landing on the ground next to him as he froze. The giant bubble disappeared as she grabbed the sash and threw it to Anatis. He caught it and broke it in half, releasing the akuma. He took out his yoyo and captured it before releasing the purified version. He picked up the laser part and tossed it into the air.
"Miraculous Ladybugs!" He shouted, causing it to burst into the magic swamp and fix everything. He smiled as it flew through the city, fixing the school before it came back and fixed city hall and Lady Noir before safely placing the swat team and the Bourgeois family in front of it before disappearing. Anatis jumped down with Abeille as Malediktator turned back to Mr Bourgeois as Audrey looked around confused before she began to shout at him. Chloe looked at them sadly before gasping and rushing over as she saw Anatis.
"Anatis!" She gasped. "You totally saved me again!! Oh, I can I have a-"
She stopped as she saw Abeille, causing Anatis to place his hand on his yoyo. She honestly looked like she was about to cry but she swallowed and smiled widely at Abeille before holding out her hand.
"Hi, I'm Chloe Bourgeois, the previous Queen Bee. It's nice to meet you," She smiled, causing Abeille to shake it.
"I'm Abeille. It's nice to meet you too," She replied, causing Chloe to break into a massive smile.
"Would you mind if I took a selfie with you?" She gasped, causing Abeille to look to Anatis. He smiled and nodded as Lady Noir jumped down and leaned on his shoulder.
"Aww, Annie, you made a new friend," She grinned in a teasing manner, making him laugh and pat her head. She grinned and leaned into his hand, causing him to laugh as Abeille and Chloe took a couple of selfies before their miraculous beeped. "Abeille, we need to go,"
"Ok!" She grinned, turning to leave before she decided to hug Chloe, surprising the girl before she let go and ran over to Anatis. Chloe smiled and ran over to her parents before telling them off and dragging them away. The three heroes jumped up to the roofs and ran off but Lady Noir stopped and turned to them.
"I'll let you do the thing, Annie," She grinned before turning to Abeille. "I hope next time he calls on you we get to actually work together,"
"Me too, Lady Noir," She grinned, hugging her as well. Lady Noir grinned and patted her head before saluting. She walked to the edge of the building before turning around and blowing a kiss towards Anatis, making him blush and Abeille to gush before she hopped away. "Oh my gosh!! You two are so cute!!"
He smiled but shook his head as they jumped down to an alleyway. Rose called off the transformation and said goodbye to Pollen before taking off the comb and handing it back to Anatis.
"Thank you for choosing me, Anatis," She smiled. "I hope we get to do this again,"
"Should there be an occasion that calls for the bee, I will come and find you," He smiled, placing it back in the box and hiding it in his yoyo. "Are you ok getting home?"
"Yes, I'll be going to my friend's house tonight," She smiled as his earrings beeped. "Besides, you're about to transform back,"
"Yeah, I'll have to go," He replied, making her nod before she hugged him suddenly. He smiled and hugged back before she pulled away and ran off, waving to him. He waved back and threw his yoyo up to the building. He ran across it as his earrings rapidly beeped before he jumped down into another alley. He caught Tikki and gave her a macaron before taking out the bee miraculous. He fixed it into his hair, causing Pollen to manifest.
"Hello, my prince," She smiled as he took out a macaron for her. She thanked him and began to eat it as he smiled.
 "Do you approve off Rose?"
"She makes an excellent bee," She smiled, moving on his shoulder as Tikki sat on the other one. He smiled and walked with them to Master Fu. Tikki and Pollen hid in his hoodie as he walked up to the shop and knocked on the door before walking inside. Master Fu looked up and smiled.
"You've returned," He nodded, taking out the miracle box. Luka smiled at Pollen before taking the comb out of his hair and placing it back in the box. "I noticed that a new bee superhero made her debut today. Care to explain?"
"Chloe was never my choice to wield the bee miraculous," He replied, making Master Fu nod. "And when I reclaimed it from her, I made it very clear that she would never have it again and that she would need to earn my trust to even be considered as one of my allies. I wasn't going to go back on my word,"
 "And the new bee?"
"She's a friend," He smiled, making Master Fu nod. "Chloe is making progress though. She apologized to everyone and is trying to start again,"
"Maybe she'll prove to be worthy then," Master Fu replied, making Luka nod. "Perhaps if you have some free time, we can go over some miraculous lore,"
"Sure, Master," He smiled, kneeling down as Master Fu grabbed his tablet and joined him. Tikki flew over to Wayzz and settled next to him as they watched their two holders talk and learn. Tikki smiled with a little pride as she watched Luka name the miraculous and who the kwami was that resided within them.
"He seems like an excellent choice to be a ladybug,"
"He's the best holder I've ever had," Tikki admitted, smiling. Wayzz looked over and smiled as well as Luka pointed out each ability.
"He would make an excellent guardian,"

The Fashion Rebellion of Adrien Agreste || Part I
Pairing: Adrinette (Marinette Dupain-Cheng x Adrien Agreste)  Warnings: Mention of alcohol consumption. Words Count: 1,8k words.
A/N: I would like to say a huge thanks to my dear friend @smileytrinity for her infinite patience and help and support, as well as @helgabatwrittings who motivated me to write this. @miraculouslyinloveagain, @sparklesfriend4700-blog I hope you’ll enjoy this Adrinette. Well, I hope everyone does. <3
His plan was devious. If Plagg's giggles were any indication, Adrien would say he had crossed the line between mischief and Machiavellian by a long shot... alright, maybe it was  an overstatement.
"What you’re doing is more dabbling into little shit territory than being an evil menace.” Plagg drawled over his shoulders, only to shrug in disinterest when Adrien remarked that Plagg's barometer was skewed when it came to chaos and mischief.
Evil misdoings or shenanigans, Adrien couldn't bring himself to care or feel an ounce of guilt. After all, a taste of his own medicine wouldn't kill his father.
The whole thing had started a few months ago. He didn't know how such an innocent idea had gotten so out of hand. But, could anyone blame him for wanting to get back at his father when his actions were marred by his malicious intent?
Adrien had once believed his father was an overprotective parent, but, as the years went by, gone was the blind trust he had placed in the adults of his life. The Lucid maturity replaced the juvenile naivety. The perfect family facade had long since shattered, a cold truth seeping inches by inches in its cracks.
The idea blossomed into a fully-fledged plot almost overnight. Mere hours after his father  —  well Nathalie  —  had informed Adrien that he couldn't attend Marinette's picnic because his schedule had been modified to accommodate a last minute photoshoot. He had been so irritated that —
“ — I really want to get back at him.” Adrien hissed, plopping down on Chloe's bed. He felt bad for the glare he directed at Mr.cuddly. The poor bear didn't deserve it.
“I’m not going to pretend I understand why you want to attend this dwee — Marinette’s” —   Chloe relented at Adrien’s pointed look —  “Marinette’s picnic.” Chloe rolled her eyes in disdain, applying the finishing touch to her makeup: a glittery peach lip gloss. ”But this is utterly ridiculous. You're eighteen! You should have the freedom to go wherever you want to. You’ll have wrinkles if you keep frowning like that.”
Adrien couldn't help the small huff of amusement falling past his lips. He took a deep breath in order to calm down. The last thing he needed was to be akumatized before the charity gala he was attending even began. At least Chloe — whom he considered his sister — would be attending as well.
“I have the perfect solution!” Chloe wiped out her phone, typing furiously until she reached the homepage of Versace’s online shop. “Retail therapy helps wonder. Care to put a dent in daddy dearest’s fortune?” She turned to face Adrien a grin on her face, the skirt of her haute couture dress swirling in a flurry of sequined organza.
“You know he doesn't care about my shopping sprees, Chlo. I wouldn't have a climbing wall in my bed room if he did.” Adrien sighed suddenly deflated and laid his cheek atop of Mr. Cuddly’s head. He did give the best cuddles.
Chloe’s only answer was an noncommittal hum and joined Adrien’s on the bed. In an uncharacteristic gesture of comfort, she rested her hand on Adrien’s thigh “Do you know what he cares about? Your pretty face.”
“Go on.” He encouraged, cocking one eyebrow up in interest, mood perking up.
“What could make a designer angrier than seeing the face of his brand, his ambassador, publicly endorsing another brand?”
Adrien could have kissed Chloe in sheer gratitude. “Chloe, you're a genius!”
“Yeah, I know. I'm just misunderstood.” she scoffed, one hand twirling a curl of hair framing her face.
“We don't have all night! Post it or don't, but make your decision. All this hesitation is ruining my appetite.” Plagg whined. How he could manage to sound so childish yet so disdainful at the same time was beyond Adrien’s understanding. Yet, the kwami had no trouble accomplishing such feat while sitting on Adrien’s shoulders, a slice of Camembert between his paws.
“Thanks for the moral support.” Adrien muttered. So what if he had been sprawled on his bed for the past hour, phone in hands debating whether he should be posting the video or not. To be petty, or not to be? That was the question. An existential question, one might add, as his finger hovered the share button on his screen. Teeth worrying his bottom lip. Should he really listen to the little devil on his shoulders? Should he even consider his opinion when his brain was still muddled? He had too many cocktails, tonight.
“You’re thinking too loudly.” Plagg complained, words stretching around a yawn. “There!” he hissed, flying over Adrien’s shoulders to press share. “I posted it for you. It’ll teach your old man a lesson.”
“Plagg!!” Adrien whispered, venom lacing his tone. “I can’t believe you did that! Two minutes in the drawer of shame!” He spat, opening the top drawer of his nightstand.
An indignant scoff bubbled out the kwami’s throat. He titled his chin up in defiance as he plopped down on the plush pillows installed in the drawer of shame. “Just so you know, I’m going there on my own volition. A drawer full of silk pillows is hardly what I call a punishment.” he declared, petulant.
“For someone who is supposed to be offended, you're certainly not eager to delete the video.” Plagg delivered the coup de grace in a disconcerting nonchalance, before eating his slice of cheese. As frustrated as Adrien was with Plagg, he had to admit, the idea had not crossed his mind once.
“I'm deleting it now.” Adrien declared just because he could, yet he made no effort to move.
"Huh huh. Sure you will!" Plagg retorted back. It took Adrien all the force he could muster not to dignify the tiny cat with an answer. He would be the better person.
It had taken 8 hours of beauty sleep, for Adrien to wrap his head around the fact that he posted such a video of himself. He almost regretted his decision not to delete it upon waking up. Almost, but his head was pounding and he was never drinking alcohol ever again. After all, he did post, on Instagram, a 1:06 minutes long video of himself — two dry martinis away from drunkenness — singing along, no, belting along the lyrics ”Versace On the Floor” by Bruno Mars featuring Chloe’s judging looks, just to get back at his father. And yet, Adrien couldn't fight the feeling of satisfaction surging through his body when he noticed that #Versace was trending on all social media.
The video going viral in a matter of hours? Expected. Fans sliding into his DMs?Anticipated. Nino freaking out over texts? Typical.
What he hadn't counted on, however, was his video being broadcast on TV.  Adrien watched with stupor as a journalist reported — with supporting images  — how crowds of fan girls were waiting in queues outside of Versace’s boutiques to buy a dress. “Versace sales skyrocket after model video goes viral” read the words in bold yellow letters. He chocked on his eggs Benedict, eyes watering as he forced the food down his throat.
“Oh, I’m was screwed. Father is going to kill me.” Adrien whispered to himself, voice barely audible over Plagg’s laughter.
”Dude you decided to kill the internet overnight? Were you drunk? Are you sure your old man isn’t going to kill you? You were on the news! The news, bro! -- every girl been gush-- ”
Adrien was trying to pay attention to Nino, he really was, but his attention was otherwise diverted by Marinette and Alya’s conversation.
"He looked like an angel, so handsome. The disheveled look with the undone bow tie, and open dress shirt.” Marinette sighed. Adrien could hear the smile in her voice.
”Yeah, I know...” Alya interrupted, somewhat amused. ”-- He looked so good in his suit. His pant hugged his ass so perfectly. You've been gushing about him for two days, Marinette, two days.”  Adrien knew it was rude to eavesdrop, but who was Marinette talking about? Not that he cared, really. It was none of his business who Marinette was crushing on. She was just a friend. But why did he felt a sudden pang in his chest at the thought that a boy had caught his friend’s attention. ”I get it! Sunshine was stunning in that video.”
Wait. Hold on. What?!
If sunshine was Adrien and Adrien was sunshine, did it mean Marinette had been talking about him? The Marinette Dupain-Cheng? Beautiful, creative, kind, intelligent Marinette? Marinette who was standing in front of him and currently paying for her caramel macchiato with a dash of cinnamon? That couldn’t be possible.
Adrien.exe had stopped running. The epiphany short-circuited his brain. His eyes widened ever so slightly as the information finally sank in. His heart squeezed, then skipped a beat. And —
His train of thoughts came to a skidding halt.
"Dude, it's rude to stare at Marinette's butt like that.” Nino whispered in his ears and despite the fried synapses in his brain, Adrien still had the presence of mind to let out a noncommittal hum as an answer. Then, Nino’s words registered. A second too late if the knowing smile tugging at the corners of Nino’s lips was any indication. Blood rushed to his cheeks, tinting them a soft pink.
"You're totally blushing too! Are those thoughts appropriate?"
"I- I - I wasn't checking her out! ” Adrien stammered. Head shaking in disapproval. ”Marinette’s just... a friend. Yeah, a friend!” He forced the words out of his mouth in a breathless pant. ”Is she really though?” A treacherous part of mind wondered. Adrien didn't have to be a psychic to know — from the smug look on his best friend’s face  — that Nino was about to ask the same question.
”Oh shut up, Nino.” He mumbled, words devoid of any real vehemence. He was definitely not checking out Marinette’s butt. Not that Marinette’s butt wasn’t worthy of being checked out. She had a nice butt, and the way her skin tight jeans were hugging her in all the right places, leaving almost little to the imagination...Her legs, her toned, long, legs that seemed to go on for miles... Marinette was just perfect... From a perfectly platonic friend’s point of view, of course. It was just a friendly observation. Those were cute jeans, as a model he was bound to notice them.
”You're still doing it.” Nino teased a second time, in his ears. The look Adrien threw his way was cold enough to freeze over the arctic ocean. Global warning solved with just one look.
A few minutes later, when the four of them were walking to their usual table in the coffee shop, drinks in hands. When Alya asked him “what’s got you so flustered, Sunshine? After the hip trusts in that video, it be must be quite something if it impresses you, huh? Adrien knew he was never getting out of this alive.  He was royally screwed.

Tumblr media
Johnny invited Ophelia, Ripp, Chloe, Lola, Pascal, Lazlo, Vidcund, and River Smith, but only Ophelia, Ripp, and River showed up. It was a small party, but his Mom and Dad we’re there. Jill was loving the party, not letting herself think about Johnny’s approaching departure.
After spending time cavorting with his family Johnny went out to the porch and found his guests. He chatted with Ripp and Ophelia on the porch while River went on in and danced with Jill.
Eventually Johnny had to vent all his nervous energy so he asked Ripp to dance. He was paying particular attention to Ripp since he was planning on moving in with Ophelia in college, so he knew this time with Ripp was important.
Tumblr media
They played video games and Johnny was awesome with them as always. Ripp never complained about not knowing the game, he just smiled along and enjoyed playing with his friend.
Tumblr media
Ophelia had just gotten a big style change, thanks to moving on campus. She had a bit of her aunt’s money to rent out student housing and she already used some of it on hair extensions and getting someone to braid them. Johnny and Ripp thought she looked so hot they were almost intimidated. She had also reached a growth spurt and was tall and fierce. She looked so confident you couldn’t tell she had bad anxiety and was worried about why her boyfriend was seemingly distancing from her.
Tumblr media
“Are you gonna miss your sister?”
“Yeah, I might miss her most of all. Who’s gonna pick on her if I’m not around? Who’s gonna stick up for her? Who’s gonna teach her all the stuff a big brother does? I hope they invite me over often.”
“You’re gonna miss her more than me?” Ripp asked. “You bet your sorry ass I am! She’s my sister! I love her to bits!”
“I’m sure its gonna be hard on her without you. I know its gonna be harder on me and Buck now that Tank’s off to college.”
“Tank went to college? Where to?”
“La Fiesta Tech.”
“Damn, that’s the same one me and Phe are going to. I’ll probably see him around, then.”
“Well at least you’re in student housing, so he won’t be at your dorm.”
“True.”
Tumblr media
The party ended and the guests went home, so Johnny hugged his father goodbye and Jenny waved him off as Ophelia joined him in the taxi.
Tumblr media
“I’m so happy you’re here.” Said Ophelia. “I was really nervous living on my own. I’m not used to the quiet. It’s so much warmer in this house, I haven’t shivered in my sleep. There’s not much in the house but I’d still like to show you where everything is.”
“Sure babe. I think I’m gonna love living here. I mean, you’re here, right? What could be better?”
“Just check out the rug under the bed! I know how you love sports cars…”
She lead Johnny to the bedroom and showed him where she put everything, then she brought him to the bathroom and showed him his toothbrush.
Tumblr media
“Dear Diary” He began. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it? It’s been so long that I aged up and moved out to college. I’m in my first semester at La Fiesta Tech and I’m living with my highschool girlfriend, Ophelia. You remember her. After Ophelia stepped up her look I decided to wear something less baggy. “This sounds silly but I didn’t want people to think I was her loser boyfriend. There’s another alien here, I caught sight of her on campus. She had short black hair and long winged eyeliner. Even more strange, she had alien eyes. But it’s Strangetown, or well, near it anyway. The campus on a whole seems pretty Liberal, comprised of a fair amount of counter-cultural students. I think I’ll fit in great here, although I might need to set up a better space for outdoor parties.
“Whenever we get the chance I think I’d like to go clubbing. There’s a lot of community lots around here for the students to gather and I love meeting new people. Plus, there’s dancing, and I’m wild about that. “I heard there was a breakdancing club somewhere on campus? Maybe I can get into that at home. These student loans are kind of crushing us, though. I’d love to get a job but there’s not really time for one. Maybe I can write home for some more money.
“I found out mom quit her job on my birthday. How are they gonna take care of Jill with two stay at home parents? At least Dad gets retirement checks. Maybe it’ll be alright.”
Tumblr media
Ophelia had loved reading ever since she was a kid, escaping into worlds unknown, then coming out with knowledge she could share with others. She thought Literature would be her perfect Major. She navigated to her school’s home page and registered her major.
Tumblr media
“Hey honey I just got done registering my major, have you decided on your yet?”
“Nah but I don’t want biology, that’s for sure.”
“Why not?”
“You know, the students might wanna poke n prod at me.”
“What about literature? That way we can have all the same classes.”
“Mmm… Maybe. It was one of my top picks but I’m just not sure yet.”
“That’s cool, you have time to figure it out. Well, as long as you don’t switch mid-way or later.”
“I’ll try to remember that.”
“So… It’s our first night together in our new house.”
“So it is.”
Tumblr media
After they talked some more Johnny invited his mother over to see their new place while Ophelia made dinner. She was so proud of him and happy to see him.
“You’re all grown up now!”
“I know, mom.”
“It seems like yesterday you were my baby boy. You looked like a little green squid, your father and I were so worried, but now you’re all grown and healthy and strong.”
He flexed “Yep, super strong! I can beat up any burglar that comes here!”
“Oh I don’t want to think of any burglars! You both barely have anything to steal.”
“That’s kinda rude mom, we’re trying our best.”
“I know, dear, but you should have at least taken your desk from home.”
“Jill uses it more than I do. I thought you could make use of it. I definitely don’t need another bed, me and Ophelia are sleeping together.”
“Oh I suppose you would. But what about Ripp?”
“Huh?”
“I thought he might move in with you after he goes to college.”
“Well, between you and me mom, he’s kind of failing highschool.”
“Oh, that’s a shame. He’s such a talented boy. It must be all those fights he gets in.”
“Err… Well… He’s not exactly picking the fights. He’s being bullied.”
“Have I heard of this bully?”
“I’d rather not say, mom.”
“Alright, alright, don’t tell your mother anything, see what that get’s ya.”
Johnny rolled his eyes.
“You’re so silly mom.”
“I am. Hey, are you too old for a… tickle monster?!”
Tumblr media
Soon enough it got late and Johnny and Ophelia retired to bed. The next morning they were both rested but stayed in eachother’s arms to enjoy the morning.
Tumblr media
“This is my ‘Phe’s making me Breakfast’ Dance”
“Sweet moves.”
“Thanks. Whatcha cookin’?”
“Toaster pastries. There’s not much in the cabinets unfortunately.”
“Ah. So It’s Pasta and Pancakes, eh?”
“We’d be lucky to get pancakes.”
“I’m used to my dad’s cooking. He was always really good.”
“I bet he had a lot of time at home to work on those skills.”
“You might be surprised. Alien kids can be a real handful.”
“I hope not. I’d like to have some own of mine someday.”
“You would?”
“Yes, I love children, and I love you.”
“Well, I love children too, but… We should give it time.”
“Ideally we’d finish college first.” She said.
“What about Ripp?”
“Are you asking if I want human babies?”
“No! I mean, if Ripp does move in with us, how will that work with kids?”
“I can’t imagine it would be all that different. Could be better than a two parent household. Three heads are better than one.”
“I don’t know if he want’s any. He’s always struck me as the type who can’t be tied down.”
“He loves kids, Johnny. He’s been looking for a proper family ever since his mom left.”
“You too, huh? I mean, when your family died….”
“I don’t want to talk about that.” She frowned. “Food’s ready.”
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry, that was insensitive of me. I shouldn’t bring stuff like that up without a warning.”
“Well I talk about it in therapy. I’m excited to get to see my therapist more, now that I’m paying for it.”
“It’s still your aunt’s money.”
“What she doesn’t know won’t kill her.”
“Thanks for the breakfast, by the way.”
“You’re welcome. Do you wanna cook next time?”
“Sure, I’ll cook supper. I need to get better at cooking for class anyway.”
“I don’t need cooking skill for my classes but it might be good for motherhood.”
“Always thinking ahead, my girlfriend.”
“That’s not true. You keep me in the moment.”
They shared a peck.

Somebody You Loved
This drabble was requested by @27percentonrottentomatoes through ko-fi for some angsty Chloe/Nathaniel with the song “Somebody You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi as inspiration. You wanted the pain, sweets, so here we go, haha.
___
“So after everything, this is it then? You’re done, just like that?” Chloe crossed her arms as Nathaniel pulled another scruffy suitcase out of the depths of the closet.
He paused to looked up at her and his expression was pained. “Do you really not understand what you did to me tonight, Chloe?”
“I can’t believe you’re taking it this seriously. I told you I was just teasing you about your art.”
“You teased me in front of a gallery full of people. People who came to see my art.” His cheeks flushed with anger. “I finally got up the courage to put my stuff on display, to put myself out there,” he clutched at his heart as if his hand was the only thing keeping it in his chest, “and you mocked me in front of everyone.” His face crumpled. “You know what each piece has meant to me and you were so cruel. You told complete strangers some of my deepest, darkest thoughts like it was no big deal. You made light of it all.”
She shifted uncomfortably, wishing she’d taken off her high heels before they’d started the fight. She couldn’t very well do it now. Nathaniel was actually upset. She hadn’t expected... No. She’d known what she was doing when she did it. If there was anything Chloe Bourgeois excelled at, it was self-sabotage.
“I didn’t mean...I was...I didn’t expect it to bother me so much to see you and Marc together at the gallery so I may have acted out a little.”
Nathaniel shook his head and unzipped the suitcase. He turned to the chest of drawers behind him and opened the third one to start taking out his shirts. “I’ve told you so many times that we’re just friends.”
“He’s in love with you! Why can’t you see that?!” Chloe felt all the insecurities she kept bottled up start to spew out like a soda can that had been shaken a little too much.
He dropped a stack of shirts in the suitcase and dropped his head. “I don’t think he is but even if he was...Chlo, I love you. That’s all that should matter. You were the one I wanted.” He met her eyes with sadness filling his. “But I just can’t do this anymore. I can’t keep making excuses for you.”
“Making excuses for me,” she echoed. “What’s that mean?”
“I have friends who can’t understand how we’re together. They think you’re selfish and petty and spoiled, and I always thought they just didn’t know you the way I did, but maybe I’m the one who was wrong. I thought I saw something in you that was different, but...” He trailed off and returned to packing.
Fear rushed through her like a flood and she crossed the room, gripping his arm so he couldn’t life another stack of shirts. “Please don’t do this, Nath. Please don’t leave,” she begged. “I know...I know I was a bitch. I know I’m a bitch a lot, but I can be better. I’m trying to be better.”
His shoulders dropped. “I just don’t know if I can believe you. You really hurt me tonight. I don’t know if you get how I feel right now.”
“You can tell people my secrets. We’ll be even.” She knew she was crying now and she wiped at the tears in irritation. She hated crying in front of anyone, even Nathaniel.
He shook his head sadly and pulled away from her enough to grab the shirts. “I don’t want to do that. I don’t want to hurt you. That’s not how you treat people you love.”
The accusation in his unsaid words felt like a brick in Chloe’s stomach. She wanted to fight him. She wanted to scream and tell him to stop being stupid. She wanted to guilt him into staying, to belittle him into bending to her will. She wanted to...
She wiped at her eyes again as fresh tears welled up. “Will you come back?” she asked, straightening her spine even as her voice shook.
He paused in packing a set of pants and finally looked back at her. “I’m not sure.”
Chloe nodded and swallowed against the lump in her throat. “Okay.”
There was nowhere she could hide in the apartment that he might not find her before he left so Chloe grabbed her purse and quietly let herself out the door without another word. She walked the darkened streets numbly, uncaring that it wasn’t safe, and when Chat Noir found her hunched over and crying on a bench in the park, she didn’t fight him when he took her back to his apartment.
___
“You want coffee?” Adrien offered, holding out a cup.
Chloe took it without comment and stared at the steam rising up from the dark liquid. Her head ached and her eyes felt puffy and her neck was strained from sleeping on his couch the night before.
“Are you ready to talk about it?”
“Nathaniel left me.”
“Oh.” Adrien frowned and settled into the armchair beside her. “I’m sorry.”
“I deserved it.”
“Chloe, I don’t think--”
“I deserved it,” she repeated. “And I don’t want to talk about it anymore.”
His brow furrowed but he nodded and settled back into his chair. “Okay,” he said softly. “I’m here if you change your mind.”
___
It took two more nights on Adrien’s couch and a comment from Alix about how she looked even worse than she smelled that finally convinced Chloe to go back to her apartment.
The light was on just inside the door because Nathaniel always left the light on for her when he knew she was getting in late. She didn’t bother turning it off as she walked further into the apartment.
She expected it to feel empty, but it didn’t. All the furniture was still in place because it had all been hers. Their bedroom looked mostly the same, though the bit of the closet she could see through the half-open door was less full than it had been. The bed was even still made from the morning before the art show, but the top cover was mussed at the end where the suitcase had been. Chloe ran her hand along the bumps of fabric without smoothing them out.
She moved on to the bathroom like a ghost haunting a place long abandoned and noted the missing razor and shaving cream from the shelf below the mirror. Only one toothbrush was in the cup now and her stick of deodorant stood alone. She stared into her reflection and couldn’t rally any kind of feeling. She was numb.
“You did it again,” she murmured. “Congratulations on being utterly unlovable.”
___
“I don’t know why I’m here,” Chloe said, crossing her arms. “This was probably a mistake.”
The therapist gave her a gentle smile. “It’s okay not to know why you reached out, Chloe, but the fact that you reached out is a good sign. You know you need help and it’s okay to admit that.”
She gritted her teeth and held back the instant retort that sprung to the tip of her tongue.
“I see in your questionnaire that you recently went through a break-up. Would you like to talk about that?”
Chloe clenched her jaw. “No.”
“Okay,” the therapist nodded. “May I ask if it was your first serious relationship?”
She blinked in surprise. “Uh, yeah, it was.”
“I see.”
“I never really cared about anyone before...him.”
“That can make it doubly hard,” the older woman nodded. “Especially if you’ve opened up to that person.”
“Yeah.” Chloe dropped her hands to her lap and looked at the uneven nails. She’d really been letting herself go. “I just...I think I thought he actually saw me, the me I wish I was.” She scowled. “That probably doesn’t make sense.”
“I think it makes perfect sense.”
She dared a glance at the therapist but quickly dropped her eyes. There was no way she was going to get through this if she kept reminding herself of the stranger across from her, but she somehow hoped this could be penance for what she’d done to Nathaniel. “If he saw that version of me and still left, I must be even worse than I thought.” She hadn’t meant to let the words come out. They’d floated through her mind and before she realized it, they were whispering out from between her lips.
“What version of Chloe do you want to be?”
“What do you mean?”
“If you could sit down and make of list of attributes you wish others saw in you, what would they be?”
Her face screwed up in thought. “I guess I just want to be me, but a version of me who doesn’t screw everything up.”
“How do you think you screw things up?”
“I’m mean. I know how to hurt people with my words and I do it.” Tears stung her eyes and she ignored them. They were so familiar now.
“Why do you think you do that?”
“I don’t know,” she huffed. “Aren’t you supposed to know why my brain does stupid stuff? I’m going to be paying you enough to.”
The therapist gave her a patient nod. “I can draw my own theories, but you’re the one who knows yourself best, Chloe.”
“People never really seem to like me,” she finally answered after a long stretch of silence. “Even when I’m trying, they don’t...I’ve just never been that person people want to talk to, so I found other ways to get attention, I guess.”
“By saying and doing mean things?”
“Yeah.” Chloe shrugged. “I thought I was getting past it and then...I thought I was going to lose Nathaniel to someone else and kinda freaked out and just...just word vomited all over the place. I wanted to hurt him before he could hurt me.”
“And that’s why he left?”
“Yeah, not the best plan, but definitely a norm for me.”
“What made Nathaniel different from the other people in your life?”
Chloe froze, realizing she’d been talking about her relationship when she’d said she didn’t want to before. She was tempted to shut down and refuse to answer, but she’d come here willingly and she may as well try. She had nothing else to lose.
“He felt safe, I think.”
“And do you think you loved him before or after you realized he made you feel safe?”
“I don’t know,” she admitted.
Her therapist nodded and made a note on her pad. “That’s okay. Sometimes we don’t know why we do the things we do, and sometimes we can figure it out after a while.”
“And you think this can help me be better?” Chloe asked, voice small.
“I think you wanting to come here and try is already a sign that you’re on your way.”
___
Chloe had been in therapy for two months when Nathaniel contacted her about meeting up for coffee. She’d read the simple text at least a hundred times before she replied that she needed more time. After a day of anxiety-ridden waiting, he replied back that he could wait.
She wasn’t sure if she’d be ready to be in a relationship again anytime soon. She still had her demons to slay and the fear that she would revert into the version of herself she was trying to bury jumped to the forefront of her mind. She needed to be better for herself before she could worry about anyone else; she wanted to be better for herself. But she couldn’t obsess over that. Change didn’t come all at once.
She would take everything one day at a time. That’s all she could do.
And with a little hope and an effort to be the version of herself she wanted to be, she could make it. She would make it.
