Masterpost✨ May Death Never Stop You - Oneshots
Making a big masterlist to be updated as I go along.
All the unrelated shorts/prompts/asks/AUs for this series live on tumblr under the #mdnsy oneshots tag. But they get lost constantly on my dashboard so they also have their own permanent home on Patreon (free) in a MDNSY Collection.
Any time I add to the collection I'll make a post about it on tumblr too, but as I said those get lost really quickly on tumblr and can be hard to track down after the fact. I will likely never post any of these on AO3, even if I might link them in the ANs for people to read. They're mostly just >1k shorts that come from ideas people have in the comments of the fic, so they may never find a place in the story proper, but the opposite of that is also true. The oneshot Cursed Fight, for example, will probably be somewhere in the epilogue. Other ones like Anti-Hero might be slipped into a later Endeavor POV if it makes sense. So especially for that reason, I don't want them interfering with the reader experience. Also, if I create an AU (like Sunshine of my Lifetime, or the Mpreg AU that as of yet doesn't have a name) that has enough substance of its own, it might find its way into the 'big leagues' lol of AO3.
There's a meme on here about how seeing someone on AO3 is like attending their Thesis presentation, and seeing someone on Tumblr is like being at their house watching them eat mayonnaise out of a jar at 2am. I in particular am mostly a trash meme goblin and that reflects pretty soundly on my Tumblr, and this kind of content deserves better than that lol
Masterlist:
One-shots:
Anti-Hero - Endeavor has never understood any of his children, but Touya most of all. Written for a commenter that wanted to see more of Gojo's childhood
At Tea Time - Gojo's a girl dad. Accompaniment fic for this adorable fanart piece of baby Fuyumi and baby Gojo dressed up and playing tea party.
Nest - Gojo is sick. Hawks makes a nest about it. Written for an ask that wanted to see Gojo's opinion on Hawks's more 'animal' traits
Cursed Fight - Satoru releases a new single called Ao no Sumika for the third season of his hit anime, Cursed Fight. Everyone has feelings about it. AU written in response to a lot of asks about MHA characters experiencing/watching Gojo's past life
Detour - @Scrubstan22 finds himself in the (un)enviable position of explaining Ru-kun to the JJK cast. for an ask about the JJK cast finding out about MDNSY Ru-kun
Don't Forget About Us - The new bff learns about the old bff. for an ask about Makoto learning about Suguru
So Full of Love (NSFW) - The tension snaps the moment Hawks gets his mouth on Satoru. Smut for Ch 23 of FLW. Co-written with K, and also up on AO3 under their account
Alternate Universes/Spin-Offs:
Only Shooting Stars (Break The Mold) - The AU where Gojo is actually All Might's rascal of a Cali kid

Act 3 Fumbles in the Todoroki arc
The decision to keep Endeavor alive with no clear narrative plan came with some terrible writing fumbles in Act 3 of the Todoroki arc which walked back previously established themes and failed to deliver on certain set-ups.
Off-screening Rei's reunion with Shoto.
Saving Rei from the hospital was Shoto's starting line back in Ch 44. After 250+ chapters of visits and letters, it was a huge milestone for him to see her out of the hospital and would have deserved a proper highlight and dialogue. Yet it was off-screened in favor of Endeavor getting the reunion scene.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. Spreading the blame for Toya to Natsuo and Fuyumi who are victims and children themselves
In a clunky attempt of parallels between the passive civilians of hero society, Natsuo and Fuyumi incomprehensibly are being framed as part of the blame for Touya's escalation.
Tumblr media
3. Walking back the Act 2 narrative of all victim responses are valid in favor of "it's heroic to prop up your abuser"
Instead of having Hawks feel bad about killing Twice, he was used as a prop to call into question the victim's right to walk away by making it seem as if he's done something wrong by cutting off the parents who abused and sold him.
Shoto's choice is valid, but he shouldn't be pitted against other victim responses.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Focusing only on Endeavor's side of the fall-out for the scandal, while off-screening the impact on Shouto and only making coy references to it
It's convenient to hide the implied backlash at Shouto. Since his feelings never matter in relation to his family. His POV conveniently focuses on his friends helping him.
Tumblr media
5. Endeavor failing to step up for his family gets excused constantly, and turning everyone into Endeavor's cheerleader, while not having anyone anything to say about the abuse.
This was personally for me awful to watch how Hori kept using characters to shill for Endeavor, and did not make a single effort at an honest condemnation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Endeavor never delivers on becoming a father - in fact, Shouto spends Act 3 playing parent to Endeavor and carrying his burden and his arc of emancipation is invalidated as he gets no real choice
Shoto's arc was about freedom to decide who he wants to be. The emancipation cannot really happen though. He is bound by Endeavor's abuse, toxic legacy and past. While his peers rise into incredible heights, Shouto is condemned to pick up the pieces after Endeavor fails to step up.
Endeavor's arc was leading to a moment where he would choose to be a father over a hero. The moment never comes. Endeavor breaks every promise he made to the family, his solution for Touya is to kill him and has to propped up and saved by his victims throughout Act 3. He never gives them anything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
7. Endeavor gets a bonus fight he doesn't need then sits back and waits while all the victims step up to save him and Toya. He gets no consequence at all for breaking his promise to the family since it would invalidate Shoto's arc of "family hero".
See above. Endeavor's fight with AFO is cool aesthetics and lots of internal pain. What it doesn't do is to step up for the family.
8. Shouto's fight in 352 has a clear narrative vision and strong, beautiful visuals, yet it gets invalidated for Round 2 which is a mess of short chapters that need heavy revision.
I'm convinced 352 was the original ending for Shouto vs Touya. It has a strong visual and great focus on their themes as brothers.
Tumblr media
9. By contast, Todoroki Shoto: Rising in fact in the weekly version had not a single strong visual for Shouto
Clearly Hori had no idea what point he wanted to make about Shouto. We don't really learn anything new about him - he steps up when Endeavor fails, like every time before. I'm still incredibly angry about this fumble. In fact, Hori doesn't really know what to do with this Todoroki family which has to embrace its abuser in order to save its "villain" without the abuser ever stepping up or giving anything back to the family and especially to Shouto. Even the masterpiece line which could be read as a reproach to Endeavor is scrapped.
Tumblr media
10. Ending the Todoroki climax on Endeavor's word is an awful disservice to Shouto as a character, which is why I fervently hope this is not the end for Shouto who deserves much better.
He doesn't even get to say anything.
Tumblr media
By keeping Endeavor alive without a plan, Horikoshi couldn't stick the landing of the Todoroki arc.
Sure, he has some cool visuals, but the overall message is terrible. In Act 3, the victims take on the burden of the abuser who keeps doing the same thing as he's always done: run away and play hero.
To make matters worse, the narrative is at most half-hearted in calling Endeavor out for this, and rather uses characters to shill for his heroic qualities.
The rebuilding of the family is hangs on the victims (apart from Touya) never getting to voice their feelings. In order to heal, not only they have to save their villain, but they have to embrace their abuser, who in turn doesn't have to do anything for them.

I saw your post for more platonic Dabi and I was wondering how you think Dabi would comfort a reader who had a panic attack and or is extremely socially anxious and always seeks him out for comfort. Whenever reader is anxious in public they hold onto the corner of his shirt or sleeve and tend to follow him or stick close to his side. If reader didn’t have the best home life then they’re probably constantly afraid Dabi is going to hate them or leave them. Reader is the kind of person who will let people talk down to them, mistreat them but heaven forbid anyone so much as looks at Dabi in distain/disgust. Reader will defend him with their life and is constantly defending him from other people’s opinions. Basically just reader and Dabi being each other’s found family
Okay, for starters I would like to apologize from the deepest depths of my heart. I am not right the head (obviously.) and I would like to give you the right to owning my soul, for I have been putting off your kind request for so long, and I genuinely am so sorry for the delay.
Tumblr media
Now I actually think that this is very interesting especially form an analytical stand point.
Because Dabi does not like weak people. both physically and mentally. It's primarily rooted form his turbulent relationship with his father where he constantly tried to get stronger and better through training and pushing himself to be a strong as possible to please his father. his idol.
from that I think he would despise those weaker than him, not because he actually hates them, but more so because he needs to put other people down to rise himself up. it's more so "it's not that I should succeed, others should fail." it makes him feel better about himself, gives him that feeling of accomplishment that he would normally get from his father saying "good job." but eh rather gets it from bullying.
You'd have to do something truly spectacular to catch his eye for him to not put you down like he does everyone else.
I don't think it could be kindness, since when Rei persuades him to stop training an pushing himself so hard, he instead takes it as her trying to stop him. I'm not saying that that exact senario would play out as in
reader : Dabi! I got you flowers.
Dabi : YOU WANT TO STOP ME FROM BEING A HERO??!?!?!?!?
I'm saying he has a hard time accepting kindness, I'm saying he might not know what is someone trying to help him and what is someone trying to hurt him. like Rei does. this might actually draw him away.
I think what might actually work is the relationship he had with Fuyumi and Natsuo. because all three were heavily affected by their father's neglect and violence and I think that this may be evidence of sympathy or a ledge to protect them one day as a hero.
(of course, he doesn't become a hero, rather going partially insane as I would say and focusing on getting revenge on Enji, most likely to avenge himself and his brother and sister.)
what may lead him to you is the shared sympathy the both of you have when it comes to bad origins. it's the same sympathy he had with this siblings (minus Shoto) I'm thinking he walks in at the wrong time while you're in the middle of crying your heart out I do that way to often and while he doesn't interfere right at that moment, he will talk to you as best as his unsocial ass can. things like "sorry that happened to you." "you're not alone, that happened to me too." undercover of sarcastic remarks like "you're such a crybaby."
or something easier where the both of you reveal more and about your pasts forming a close relationship. details like "my dad would be pissed about that." or "ugh! that's something mom would say!" after a cruel insult. it would be an unspoken bond but a bond nonetheless.
this gives him an undying sympathy for you that he can't properly express. trust me he has so many things to say.
"I love you."
"thank you for being there for me."
"I would give you the world if asked."
"you're the reason I get up in the morning."
but for a child of an abusive and unloving relationship, the words are just not there. no seriously. there's only this feeling of warmth with you and nothing else. no words, only a flurry of pinkish love.
He'll let you come to him like the little ball of fear and sadness you are at times, he'll let you cuddle up you him as much as you want. he'll push you off when calm down a bit though, he'll leave with a grumble about how needy you can be.
note though, that he would probably never push you off immediately. it's not that he hates you, he thinks you're disgusting and the worst thing to ever exist.
it's just that he doesn't know how to respond. and I don't blame him.
it takes a while to get used to, get used to being loved and having something to love. but once he does you are SO in for it.
I'm talking flowers from the grocery store, free stolen popsicles, the right to murder anybody and have him help you clean it all up.
because he genuinely loves you, he really does, and when he understands after a couple years of knowing each other how to receiprocate your love, it suddenly all become to easy to be human, to be alive, to be happy.
he also does doesn't like you being talked down to. it comes from the depths of his childhood dream of being a hero and protecting people. especially loved ones like he does for Fuyumi and Natsuo. this also transforms into a need to provide for his loved ones, this can take form in helping you put together furniture, helping you with groceries, and talking to you when you're lonely. things you would do with your dad, which he basically is at this point.
on the same boat, he doesn't like you to fight for him. in his mind, it's HIS job to protect you not vice versa. he's seen you cry, talked you through your panic attacks, been there through those nights. you've already fought so much with yourself, you should not be fighting for him.
it's beautiful really. how much this one thing can change Dabi. it's just that you'll have to stick with him through the sarcasm and the insults and the roasts. but in the end.
he loves you. he'll protect you. maybe not Japan as a hero, but this one little thing. this one little perfect thing, he'll die for.

Fuyumi had asked him if he’d wanted to watch the live broadcast of the Sports Festival with her and Natsuo.  Shimura had invited him along with the rest of the Vanguard to stream it at his uncle’s house.  Dad had gone to the festival in person, not that he would have invited any of them to go with him anyway.
Touya had gone to Sekoto Peak that day.
During one of their earliest sessions, Doc Honda had recommended he try and revisit the mountain.  It didn’t have to be right away, she’d told him, but since he could see it from his family’s home, from his bedroom window even, that was the first step.  Over the years, he’d gone for walks around the base after school, always avoiding the entrance to the trail that led to where it had happened.  Then he began climbing the trails.  Fuyumi came with him sometimes, or Natsuo.  In the ten years that had elapsed since the incident, the forest had been allowed to grow back naturally as opposed to an artificial recovery instigated by plant-based Quirk users.  The trees in the one kilometer radius around the burn site were all young and didn’t allow for much cover from the sun, so the wildflowers and underbrush of the forest had grown in full force.
It took three years, but he could now stand over the very spot where he’d burned.
And he preferred it to subjecting himself to anything to do with his brother’s accomplishments.  Shouto wasn’t to blame.  It wasn’t his fault he’d been born and their father loved his ambition more than he ever did his own children.  Yet he still couldn’t help but resent the sibling who had supplanted him.
~The Summer Camp Ambush Simulation, Ch. 2
...
This is from a new comic WIP for Ambush Simulation, but since this page is directly related to a part from the related fic, I thought I'd do a sneak peak.
Bit of a glimpse of Touya’s therapist, affectionately referred to as Doc Honda. She won’t make much of an appearance in Ambush Simulation, but her name will come up now and then. She’s also a cameo character from another series, so you may recognize her.
If you didn't recognize the background in the first panel, it's a redraw of this shot from the anime:

MHA Ch.385 leak reactions:
Mt Lady falls first, and I could swear Horikoshi is trying to troll us all for thinking he’d kill another female pro hero.
AFO takes out Machia with a freakin laser beam (but is it a belly button laser???)
Oh hey, Mineta’s there.
AFO takes out Dark Shadow and flattens poor Tokoyami (he’s alive, but unconscious, and AFO wants his quirk)
AFO is taking damage but rewinding/healing quickly.
AFO TOUCHES HAWKS AS HAWKS STABS HIM IN THE HEART LIKE A VAMPIRE, BUT A PIERCED CHEST DOESN’T STOP AFO (another inneresting AFO-Bakugo parallel!!!)
AFO also chokes the chicken Hawks. He really likes that force choke move — we’ve seen it a few times now from AFO and TomurAFO (MORE parallels….)
Maybe Red Bull gave AFO wiiiings? Nope, AFO stole Hawks’s Fierce Wings quirk. (But that means AFO now has a Hawks vestige inside him, hehehe….)
Hawks says it’s unfair AFO’s number of quirks isn’t decreasing? How would he know? Is Hawks trying to stall and keep AFO talking? Or is his vestige communicating with him?!?!?!
Is Mineta the last one standing to face AFO? OH MY GOD, IT’S AFO vs MINETA AND MINETA WITH THE SACRIFICE PLAY — HE’S YELLING TAKE MY STICKY BALLS AND NOT DARK SHADOW!
AFO uses the moment to escape and head towards Shigaraki when…….
Cut to the evacuees, where Natsuo prepares to protect Rei and Fuyumi (awwwww) because the shelters stopped moving and La Brava doesn’t know why (cue Tsukauchi aging another 5 years). Inside the shelters some people are watching the livestream of the battle, so they know what’s happening. AFO’s spies make their move in the shelters and they’re stopped by the combo of Gunhead, Kendo and Tetsutetsu from 1B, and Death Arms (back on duty for the moment)!
Death Arms talks about how a “thorny path” awaits him…which is exactly what AFO’s hologram message told Izuku after Nagant….and what Iida said to Nezu and Endeavor. Given that Death Arms didn’t move a muscle to rescue Bakugo from the slime villain in Chapter One, it’s good that he got his “my body moved on its own” moment.
WE END WITH STAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNNN IN KAMINOOOOOO!!!!!!!! HE IS WATCHING SHOTO AND IIDA!!!!!!!

SYA Extended Notes Ch. 39-44
Or: Acceptance and healing - some thoughts on Shouto's post-war journey
Notes for "See You After" Chapter 44: August 2: Shouto's Journal - Unsent Letter
I can’t forget what happened but maybe someday I’ll be able to forgive you so that I can put all of it behind me and move on. I don’t know what that means for us or for our family, but I hope that someday I’ll be able to show you that I’m proud of who I’ve become in spite of everything you did.
I originally started typing this up to post with chapter 39 but decided to wait until after this chapter, and Shouto's unsent letter, to share my thoughts on how I imagine he and his family might begin to navigate the healing process.
In essence, I think that a post-war arc for Shouto involves him taking the time to process the things he went through and to decide for himself what he wants to do going forward.
This fic inevitably contains my personal headcanons of what Shouto's healing journey might involve after the war ends. Of course, there are as many interpretations of what "should" happen next as there are readers, but these are a few of my thoughts in relation to "See You After" so far.
Acceptance is the first step
I talked a bit about this in the extended notes for Chapters 10-11, but up until this point, I really don't think Shouto saw what Endeavor did to him as abuse. Even if he knew it on an intellectual level, he probably didn't want to accept it for various reasons. Although he did acknowledge that what his father did to his mom was abuse, when he expresses his anger toward his father, it's always framed around what he did to his mom (and later Touya).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BNHA 192: The Todoroki Family & 249: The Hellish Todoroki Family
One of those reasons probably has something to do with the way Touya revealed Endeavor's abuse of his family, specifically Shouto, very publicly and out of spite toward their father.
Tumblr media
BNHA 291: Thanks for Going Strong
Shouto never had a say in the matter and Touya didn't do him any favors. Rather than viewing him with sympathy for being a victim, the public views him with suspicion because of his blood ties to a mass murderer and an abuser. Of course, that's not fair, but that's the cultural context of the society they're living in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BNHA 325: The Bonds of One for All & BNHA 327: Rest
Guilt, Blame, and Responsibility
Shouto has been the one carrying the burden of his father's mistakes for his entire life, but even moreso since Touya reappeared. Unlike Touya, he blames his father completely, but I don't think Touya is entirely wrong when he says that Rei is guilty too. She's a victim, of course, and most of it was beyond her control, but she agreed to the marriage, knowing what it was. Moreover, it is a parent's responsibility to take care of their children, and she wasn't able to do that. Even though it wasn't her intention and Shouto refuses to blame her for hurting him, there's still a lot to unpack and a lot of trust that needs to be rebuilt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BNHA 249: The Hellish Todoroki Family & BNHA 302: The wrong way to put out a fire, part 2
Natsuo and Fuyumi's guilt about not being able to do anything was realistic and understandable, but they were also children and it wasn't their responsibility to fix everything, which makes their experiences heartbreaking in a different way. There's a lot for all of them to reconcile on their own and as a family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rei showing up at the hospital and meeting Endeavor face to face again took a great deal of courage, and I don't think we can fault her for the things she says. Although it shouldn't be any of the children's responsibility, they do all have to deal with the fallout, which I think was the point she was trying to make here. But once again, the burden fell on Shouto to be their family's hero.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shouto believes that he has to be strong because he's a hero. And while that's admirable, that mindset is part of the larger problem. So far in canon, we've mostly seen Shouto protecting his mom, not the other way around. And that's part of his character, his foundation as a hero - the way he had the instinct to protect when he was just a child, and his decision to take the first step after the sports festival to reach out and save her.
But it still kills me that their reunion scene in the hospital post PLF war was skipped over just so there could be a big reveal when the family went to confront Enji.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BNHA 298: Sounds of Collapse & BNHA 300: The Hellish Todoroki Family, Part 2
In this scene, Shouto had his hand on Rei's back to support her, meanwhile not once do we see him get a hug or any comforting touch from any of the people who should be there to support him. (A lot of Chapter 39 of "See You After" came from my desire for just that)
Identity and the choice to become a hero
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BNHA 39: Todoroki Shouto: Origin
Shouto's fight with Izuku during the sports festival was the start of him reclaiming his identity as his own person, separate from his father, and reaffirming his desire to become a hero on his own terms. Still, the fact that he never really had the choice to try to be anything else is something to consider, especially as we see the rest of the world question the role of heroes and the overall system.
Names are important
Tumblr media Tumblr media
BNHA 45: Time to pick some names (+anime ep. 26)
I really love the symbolism of Shouto's hero name. By using his real name, he's essentially refusing to separate his identity as a hero from who he is as a person, which is important because of how he makes a clear distinction between Endeavor (the hero) and Enji (the father). But something that's often lost in translation is Shouto's choice to use the phonetic spelling: ショート instead of the kanji characters: 焦凍 (meaning to burn and to freeze), which I've always interpreted as a statement of his desire to exist as an individual beyond the context of his quirks.
It was hard to convey in this fic because I'm obviously writing it in English, but I wanted to make it clear that he signed the unsent letter as ショート because of what it symbolizes.
I feel like Shouto would probably have a complicated relationship with his given name because Endeavor valued him solely for his quirk. Meanwhile, "Todoroki" is a constant reminder of his family's legacy in the aftermath of Touya's broadcast.
I like to think that even before their conversation during the long phone call at the end of chapter 39, Katsuki understood this on some level. That's why in this fic, even though he rotates through a variety of nicknames (in their earlier letters, he uses a different one each time), he rarely calls Shouto by his last name, unless he's trying to make a point (like in his letter in Chapter 11 and the phone call in Chapter 19).
That's something I leaned into when I started writing the transition to them using each others' given names back during their text conversation in Chapter 36. (Originally, I thought it was going to happen quite a bit later in the story, but writing is a funny thing and characters sometimes have minds of their own.)

BNHA Ch 387 spoilers
I'm really conflicted on this chapter. Like I'm happy that Rei is coming in to save them but at the same time - she's probably going to die.
Ok so Geten is related to Rei?!?!?! So cool! Also this opens up the question of just how many quirk marriages there were and just how common they were? And their effects on the families...
Also I have a lot of complicated feelings about Endeavour. I mean, he has definitely done some pretty fucked up things but at the same time, he's a pretty great hero. Although, seeing the consequences of his actions come back to bite him in the ass is satisfying, I'm worried over the effect his possible death will have on the rest of the Todorokis. Like I said - complicated.
Dabi developing Rei's quirk just as he's about to burn out is an interesting development. Kind of curious to see where this will go. He seems to have almost regressed to a younger age with everything that is going on. Or maybe that is just Endeavour's perspective and seeing Touya as he really was back then.
This chapter left me thinking there may actually be a chance at a Todoroki reunion. However, Natsuo and Fuyumi showing up on the battlefield may be a bit too dangerous and risky. But since Rei's there already (after making a dramatic appearance, Dabi really did get his performance skills from someone xD), they might also dain to appear.
Can't wait for next week's chapter.

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love ❤
What a lovely writing meme, thanks for sending it my way! And thanks to @bittermoonswrites and @draphrawrites for thinking of me as well! I'm answering you all at once 💙
First I have to mention my one longfic, Butterfly Effect. If you're new here, it's an exploration of Dabi, Hawks, and the Todofam. It began as a dabihawks project but then sort of muted into my own idea of how all of these plotlines could've intersected and given the characters closure and healing. As my first and only longfic it has a lot of imperfections, but I hold it very dear to my heart. I even printed a copy for myself and I reread bits of it from time to time
Then for sure Stitches deserves a mention. As you may know from my meta, conflicting relationships rife with miscommunication and ugly feelings are one of my fav things to write about, and here I did just that. Set in a canon divergent timeline, Dabi is taken captive by the heroes instead of Compress and does his time in Tartarus. There, the monotony of his captivity is interrupted by a visit from his mother, and they finally have a chat after 10 and some years
Cold feet is another big favourite of mine. This one didn't get as much attention as some of my other dbhwks works, and I wonder if it's because I write an unpopular, canon-adjacent Dabi that the fandom doesn't much vibe with. But that's exactly what I love about this story! :') Personally, I think this is one of the best Dabis I've ever written. I tried to explore the duality of his need to be noticed and valued for who he is vs his fear of being vulnerable, all filtered through Hawks' similar self-repression & devil may care mask. If you want to make me happy, give this a read. It might not be your cup of tea in the end but it would bring a smile to my face to know you gave it a chance :')
A thousand paper cranes is one of my most self indulgent works, and for that I must mention it. It's an AU where Touya and Keigo were trainees in the same HPSC hero program, until something went horribly wrong. basically it's a childhood friends to villain boyfriends journey with a twist :') I published this way ahead of its time. It would've done numbers if posted today. Smh.
My last fave is a still unpublished work, but if you're curious about it shoot me an ask and I'll share a snip. Since basically all recs on this list are character study pieces, you guessed it, so is this one. This time it's Todosiblings-centric. Pov Touya, post canon, deals with Touya's healing post war and explores his dynamic with all his siblings in an attempt to get them to finally talk about their problems. Actually, someone should kick my ass and tell me to finish it. I exhausted all my meta energy with ch 2 but the Fuyumi chapter needs to be wrapped up so I can post this 😭 smh the writer is such an ass for leaving me hanging like this (I'm the writer)
Thanks again for sending me this question! 💙💙

Shouto Twin Excerpt ch 2. WIP
“Do you need help Fuyumi?” You questioned
Fuyumi shook her head, “No. I’m pretty much wrapping dinner up now. Cold Soba for Shouto, and you don’t have preference, so Udon with Yam good with you (Name)?” You nodded your head, as Fuyumi ducked back into the kitchen. “How was School you two?”
Shouto shrugged, “We did some Quirk Tests.”
You frowned at that, “I sat through the Entrance Ceremony,  met the teachers and some classmates.”
“Oh? Make friends?”
Shouto was the first to respond, “No.”
You shrugged, “Not sure? I talked to a boy who had a mind control quirk, but beyond that, not really.”
Shouto gave you a thoughtful look at that, as Fuyumi shot you with a cat-like look, “Was he cute?” Suddenly Shouto’s face soured, as you blinked.
“Uh…I guess? I wasn’t…” With that Shouto grabbed you by the back of your shirt to pull you into the dining area, to sit at the Chabudai, causing you to blink even more at that. “What was that for?”
Shouto deadpanned, “Because she was about to ask me if there was anyone cute in my class.” Leaving it at that, as Fuyumi gave a cheeky smile while bringing in the food for the both of you to have.

Between Blue Flames and Red Wings (WIP on Ao3) You don't remember much about the eldest Todoroki. The summer you visited as a teen, you hung with the younger siblings and Keigo. The only times you caught a glimpse of Touya is when he would leave early in the mornings. Now, 10 years later you've returned to the Todoroki residence to finish up a deal from your passing mother's business. You never dreamt you'd be falling in love not only once, but maybe even twice
Tumblr media
Am I starting another story of our beautiful blue-eyed man even though I'm still working on Ceasefire? Yes. Because that's what us fic writers do. Anyway, I was trying to sleep the other night and was listening some Japanese flute music ambience, and this is the outcome. Needless to say, my mind didn't shut off that night. I even thought of a Toga x reader story. That's for another time though. Oh, and there will be naughty bits to come.
Ch.1
With a bow, the servants left you waiting in the foyer of the massive Todoroki residence. You leisurely walked down the hall glancing over the pictures that hung on the wall. You leaned in close to what was a picture of all the Todoroki siblings. The picture must have been taken right after your visit because they look exactly how you remembered. It's been about ten years since you were last here with your mother. She'd often take you with her on business trips.
In the front, sitting with his legs crossed, was Shouto. The young boy was so full of energy. He'd run up to anybody with a big smile on his face and greet them. Standing behind him was Fuyumi, the only girl out of the bunch. Poor thing, you giggled to yourself. You both got along well, instantly bonding over music and boys. Next to her, standing with his hand on Shouto's shoulder, was Natsuo. He was a bit reserved but could be outgoing at times. You remembered how he was the one to make sure your movie night sessions with the siblings didn't run too late and didn't get too rowdy. He was quite the charmer too.
Standing off to the side with a look on his face saying he'd rather be someplace else, was the eldest Todoroki. Touya. You never really got to meet him. You'd watch him leave the house from the guest bedroom window at early hours of the morning, only to hear him returning late in the night. His bedroom was directly across the hall from yours and one late night, you could have sworn that you heard him sniffing.
You don’t know why but you’ve grown very curious about him. One particular morning as you watched him walking away from the building as he always did, he had turned back to glance over his home, as if he was taking a look for one last time, that's when he caught you staring at him from the window. The rising sun caused an eerie glow as his bright blue eyes peered up at you. You quickly gasped, and like the naive girl you were, ducked below the windowsill to hide. Moments later and feeling like an idiot, you peeked out to find him gone.
Next to Touya in the picture was the goofball you knew as Keigo. Though not an actual member of the family by blood, Mr. Todoroki had adopted Keigo and treated him like his own son. Besides Fuyumi, Keigo was the only other person you hung out with on a regular basis. You quickly grew close to each other. You smiled as memories came back causing your heart to flutter. Mrs. Todoroki had a beautiful garden in the backyard next to a koi pond. You and Keigo sat feeding the fish when he leaned over to pick a flower. You watched him twirl the stem between his fingers as he debated what to do next. Without a word he stuck the flower in your hair right behind your ear. " Now you look even more pretty," Keigo said with a wide grin. Nobody has made you blush so hard since then.
"Y/N"
You turned your head towards the voice and saw the matriarch of the Todoroki family.
“Mrs. Todoroki” you said with a bow.
“Oh, please Y/N, you are like family here.” she said with a bright smile. It was as if time stopped for her. She didn’t look like she had aged one bit. “No need to be formal” she added while pulling you into a big hug. “Enji is in a big meeting right now so it might be a bit before he gets to see you” she explained. You both caught up with each other’s lives as she leisurely guided you out to the back courtyard. Even though she seemed to be happy you couldn’t help but to feel she was hiding pain behind her smiles. She said she would gather the other’s as she left you to sit at the bench next to the Koi Pond, still thriving with beautiful fish. You were lost in your thoughts, aimlessly feeding the fish when you felt the presence of someone else staring at you. You looked up to see a tall lanky figure walking over to sit at the other end of the bench. He never once looked away from the pond. It was as if you weren’t there.
“Hello,” you said, trying to be polite. The man turned his head and you were met with turquoise eyes looking back at you. “Touya?” you asked, “Is…is that you?” It had to be. There was no mistaking those eyes. The same eyes that caught you watching him leave the house that morning. It was the last time you saw him. Touya’s eye’s furrowed as he tried to remember who you were. You looked familiar but he couldn’t place it. You noticed it looked like he had some bad scarring on his neck that went around to his ears. You tried not to stare; you meant no disrespect. Turning your head, you also caught a glimpse of scars on his arms. He saw you looking and he quickly pulled his sleeves down covering them. “I’m sorry” you apologized, “I didn’t mean-”
“Y/N” a cheerful voice called out to you. “Oh, my gods it can’t be”
“Kei?” you yelled running to the man with outstretched arms. His embrace was warm and inviting. You stepped back to get a good look at him. Your eyes widened at the sight.
“Wow, Keigo you,” you found yourself at a loss for words, “You’ve grown up” you commented sheepishly. Grown up was an understatement. He was about a foot taller than you now. His shoulders were broad and muscular. His blonde hair was a bit longer than before, but it was nicely groomed.
“I can say the same about you” he said rubbing the back of his neck, “You. You look beautiful Y/N” There you go blushing again, just like all those years ago. Keigo surprised you by grabbing your hand and pulling you close to him. He quickly pulled a flower from behind his back and placed it behind your ear. “Now you are even more beautiful” His voice was deep and there was something unspoken hanging off the end of that sentence. Touya watched from the bench as you let Keigo fly in and swoon you.  Of course she’d fall for him. They all do. He let out a ‘Tsk’ loud enough for you to hear and got up to leave
“Touya wait” you called for him. He stopped in his tracks. Peering back, he watched as you approached him. Why does she want to talk to me?
“I make a bunch of herbal remedies at home and I’m sure I can um…well” you pulled at the hem of your sleeves as you carefully chose your words, “I can make a salve that could help with those burns.” You stood there in silence as Touya looked at you bewildered.
“Why would you want to help me?” He didn’t mean for it to sound so bitter. He truly didn't understand why you would do this for him. It’s not like you were friends. He never hung out with you before. All those nights you enjoyed games and movies with his siblings, he wasn’t there. He wasn’t allowed. He had to do what his father told him. Shaking his head, he turned to leave but stopped when you once again called out his name. This time he didn’t turn to look back at you, but you spoke anyway.
“If you change your mind, I'll be staying in my old guest bedroom. You can come by anytime.”
                                                     ***
Touya laid in bed trying to find a comfortable position which was damn near impossible with a burn wound that covered nearly half of his body. He's had so many skin grafts he lost count. He just wanted the pain to go away but he refused to take any pain medication. Touya thought about your offer to help but couldn't stop himself from wondering if this was some cruel joke being played on him. Were you going to laugh and slam the door in his face? He still didn't get why you were being so nice. Touya stood up and threw on some loose-fitting sweatpants along with a tank top. He grimaced as he looked at his reflection in the mirror. He hated showing so much skin but you would need to see it to apply the salve. He threw on a flannel shirt leaving it unbuttoned, and with a deep breath he headed for your bedroom.
You were standing at the foot of your bed trying to decide on what outfit to where the next day. Keigo had invited you to the Cherry Blossom 🌸 festival. You weren't sure if this was a date or if you were going just as friends but you did know you were super excited about going. Suddenly you heard a soft tap at the door. You looked over at the clock to see it was nearly one in the morning. You wondered if something was wrong. The other siblings didn't arrive at home till later that night, so you wondered if it was maybe Fuyumi wanting to say hello. You opened the door to find Touya standing there, his eyes darting back and forth between yours as if he was second guessing coming to your door.
"Touya, is everything alright?" you asked. There you were, caring again.
"You said I could stop by" he said with a nervous shake to his voice. "If it's too late I can always-"
"No, don't go. Please come in" you said, grabbing his hand to pull him inside your room. Touya swallowed hard. He's never held a girl's hand. He saw himself as pathetic, wanting more warmth from yours. It seemed small compared to his. “You can sit here.” You told him, guiding him to the edge of the bed. “I’m going to gather some supplies I’ll need.” You seemed excited as you rummaged through your bags you had just tossed in the closet. Touya took this time to look around the room. It looked empty but you just got here so he didn’t expect much. He then looked on the bed and saw the dresses you had picked out. Clearly you were trying to decide which one to wear. One dress was black with teal geraniums the other was a white dress with red scarlets. His eyes moved farther up the bed and he damn near choked on air. There, sprawled out nice and neat was a pair of black lace panties. He was a grown man, but he felt like he was a fourteen-year-old, pubescent teenage boy at that moment when he couldn't help but reach over and pick them up grinning.
“Ahem” you cleared your throat. Touya’s eyes darted over to you, the panty still dangling off his index finger.
"I, uh" Touya stuttered.
"Do you mind?”  you said, snatching the panties from his hand. Touya couldn't stop staring at your face watching the pink hue cover your cheeks. He thought it was the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. You pulled the little desk chair to sit in front of him. Touya noticed in your hand you held a little tin can with what he presumed was the salve that you made. You silently looked at the man and pinched your eyebrows. Touya was lost gazing into your eyes when you cleared your throat again.
"Oh um..." Touya said. He nervously took the flannel shirt off. His face flushed as he shyly looked away from you. He was too scared to see the disgust on your face. He took a deep breath as he felt you lift his arm and start to apply the ointment. He’s never had anyone other than doctors touch him.
“Touya, look at me please.” Your voice was soft and caring. It stirred something deep inside him. Touya slowly turned his head and met your gaze. They held a gentleness he couldn't describe. He could get drunk on staring into those beautiful orbs. “I need you to take your tank top off too.” You saw he was apprehensive about this. “Only if you’re comfortable that is” you added. Touya shook his head and removed the tank. He looked at you and expected to see your eyes bulge or perhaps even scream, but you just proceeded to apply more of the salve. He couldn't feel much on the nerve damaged parts of his skin, but the parts he could feel, gods he wanted more of your touch. You watched Touya’s face relax and close his eyes as you gently applied the salve. Moving in slow motions, careful not to apply too much pressure. Touya let out a small hum and you felt your face flush and your entire body tingle. Though he didn't look like he was built 'big', he had a pretty muscular upper body. A part of you felt like you were taking advantage of him as your fingers rubbed along his pecs. You asked him if you could apply some of the salve to the scarring under his chin and down his neck and received a nod. You rubbed in the ointment on his neck, slowly moving along his jawline. Touya opened his eyes to meet yours staring back at him. He thought he saw you shiver, and this caused him to give you a little smirk. He never thought he could cause a reaction like that from somebody. Especially someone as beautiful as you. Your body tingled the way he looked at you and you felt your heart beating faster. Staring into his turquoise eyes you lost all sensibility. Cupping his cheek, you ran your thumb along his chin, glancing between his lips and eyes.
Oh shit, oh shit. Touya thought. Were you wanting to kiss? Are you waiting for him to make the move? Touya felt himself slightly move under his sweats.
“I’m not interrupting anything am I?” a voice spoke from the door that was left cracked open. It was Keigo. He had dropped by, of course he did. Fucking cockblocker.
