4. CONCLUSION
In this study, the in vitro effect of quinoa and quinoa polysaccharides on human gut health was investigated. Before fermentation, the cooked and uncooked quinoa were subjected to an in vitro digestion process. Polysaccharides were extracted from quinoa seeds. During the fermentation, the pH values of quinoa, quinoa polysaccharide, and FOS decreased, which was related to the production of short‐chain fatty acids, the main metabolites of the intestinal microbiota providing several beneficial functions for the epithelial cells and the immune system as well. The changes and diversities in the fecal microbiota after fermentation were analyzed at the phylum, genus, and class level. After the metagenomic analysis, it had been found that the quinoa substrates enhanced the growth of certain beneficial bacteria such as Prevotella and Bacteroides. Moreover, quinoa polysaccharides could be considered prebiotic due to their ability to increase Bifidobacterium and Collinsella. The PCA analysis revealed that cooked, uncooked quinoa and quinoa polysaccharides had significant differences of modulatory effect on gut microbiota compared with the blank and FOS, whereas the cooked and uncooked quinoa were grouped close to each other. These preliminary in vitro results encourage more exploration of quinoa and its intestinal health effects, including studies in vivo and other physiological parameters concerning human health.

One if the problems I run in with dwarven people living exclusively underground (especially in settings like Dragon Age where going to the surface is equal to exile from the underground-dwelling community) is the problem of food. How do they grow it? Where do they grow it? And what do they grow? Dwarves allowed to access the surface may find inventive ways to use what precious farmable land they have, maybe construct elaborate vertical gardens with innovative irrigation and heating systems to feed a population known for eating a lot and eating well. But what of strictly subterranean dwarves? What do they eat apart from fungi maybe, and whatever edible beasts prowl the dark? Most importantly, where do they get carbs, vitamins and feed for lifestock from if they have no land and no light to grow crops?

Deciding if I want to die of bird/cattle flu or go back to the disgusting milk substitutes that my vegan family raised me on. I know they've come a long way since the 00s, but they still just taste like sadness to me.

I was busy after work yesterday until 8pm, doing various critter things - feeding Ed, then the cats, stapled carpet to new cat shelf, then went to feed the crabs and discovered moths in the tank. Cleaned the tank out, fed crabs, fed me, fed the dogs... then made new gel food for Ed, and a dry powder mix to add baby food to for a sick rat.
I meant for today to be lighter, but I failed at that. 🤦 Arte & I went to Sprouts, and I got fresh greens for Ed & some new snacks for the rodents. Came home & fed Ed, then made a batch of Chop for the rodents with the extra greens + some other things!
I swear, I'm actually not doing anything after work tomorrow. 😂

Mods are asleep, post raisin bran, made with raisins, which are grapes that have been dried in the sun for a long period of time; and bran, the hard outer layers of cereal grain. Along with germ, it is an integral part of whole grains.

Raw oatmeal with milk <3 a delicacy few comprehend. All you need is oatmeal straight from the bag, a breakfast bowl, milk, and the sugar source of your choice. Just pour the oatmeal and then the milk. Let it soak for a bit and voila. You can add honey or brown sugar as you wish.
