So a few weeks ago, we started Addy on a new arthritis med! Librela is a once a month injection, it's been approved & used in Europe for a while now, and just got approved recently in the US. I had read a bit about it after a mention in one of my dog health groups, and Jack asked the vet about it during a discussion about managing Addy's pain. We've been having more trouble with it over this winter, and she was on the highest dose of her pain med we could do. It was really starting to stress me & Jack out over how much time we might still get with her.

After some bloodwork & confirmation that Addy's issues are all physical (old car strike injuries + age), no neurological symptoms, we did the first injection. She kept getting pain meds for the first 2 weeks, then we stopped last Monday. We've all been watching her closely to see how she did.

And!!! She's been doing great!! A 20 degree temp drop last week? No big deal. She didn't start limping or hobbling at all. She went on a 2 block walk on Sunday night, then spent 2 hours at the dog park yesterday. And today when I got home, she was still bouncing, barreling into my legs for pets, and grabbed a toy for tug.

We're really excited that it's already doing so well for her! I'm really grateful that it got approved when it did, and that we have the vet rehab center so close to us to do the injections.

Hi there! Been a long time lurker for a while but I gotta say, your theories and headcanons about Kenny are immaculate 🙏🏻😩 specifically the ones surrounding his immortality. I really wish we were given more about his curse, there isn't enough content about it! I know that's part of the mystery and one of the many reasons why Kenny is so awesome, but even a few crumbs here and there would be so appreciated 😭. The super-hero trilogy and FBW are my favourite because of the focus on Kenny's powers and how it could be connected to the Cthulu Mythos. It's even inspired me to write my own fic about it. And looking towards your blog ignites the determination I have to finish it! So for that, I gotta say thank you for constantly inspiring me with your own passion about this immortal boy! 💕

Hello! I appreciate the kind words and feel rather honored. :D I'm always happy and love being able to help inspire lore and creativity around the immortal legend that is Kenny. He's a character with so much potential and yet not as much canon time as we'd love for him. So it's fun that we're able to do it ourselves. I love how we're all able to come up with our own ideas and theories/headcanons for him and share them and build upon him. Showing just how much lore can be added to this character. To think he started out as the show's punching bag but there's just something about Kenny that some of us just loved and gravitated towards. The running joke that just turned into something so much more. I honestly really do hope we get another plot or episode or special or whatever that brings us back to Kenny searching and discovering the origins of his immortality. Until then I guess it's up to us fans to do something with his Cthulhu bloodline. He potentially has Eldritch abomination blood pumping through his veins there's got to be a demon inside him somewhere. Esp one that's possibly very angry with the curse the universe stuck him with…that's got to build up on something. Oh man just a plot where Kenny is at his most furious and reaching a breaking point cause he's just fuck this curse and fuck the world for not even remembering when he suffers and dies…ok I'll stop rambling though I still can't help but imagine that being the true reason behind Princess Kenny's betrayal in Stick of Truth. She just decided to take it out on us...ok I'll stop for real. XD But anyways I do hope you stay determined and are able to finish your fic! As you may have noticed I have so many ideas of my own but I haven't really written fanfic in so long…so good luck and keep me posted!

Around the west side of the building the hangar door was wide open. Inside sat a glossy black plane with white accents. A cross was painted in silver on the panel behind the cockpit.

John walked up to it and patted its side as if it were a beloved pet. “This is the Affirmation.”

She shrugged. “Neat.”

“Neat?” John huffed. “No, neat doesn’t even begin to cover it.” He tapped the hull with his knuckles. “This is an AdjudiCor FBW.”

He launched into a rant about engine diagnostics and configurations. Something about its top of the line performance and how only several hundred were made. Most of it went way over Delilah’s head.

She let him ramble while she strolled around the hangar, peering inside toolboxes and opening a few closet doors. Nothing besides a fusebox, tools, oil cans, and cleaning supplies. No weapons, contraband, or anything out of the ordinary to be found.

“Do you want to take her for a spin?”

Delilah paused, nudging away a box of screws with the toe of her boot. “Me?” Her eyebrows shot up beneath her bangs.

“Do you fly?”

“No. Absolutely not.” In fact, she was of the strong opinion that she belonged on the ground at all times.

John shrugged, looking more put out than she thought he had any right to. “You should try it sometime. An adrenaline rush with a view… I promise there’s nothing like it.”

The rats have been hard at work excavating a huge tunnel at the front of their right cage section. The first pic was from last Wednesday, the second from yesterday.

I wish we could give them even deeper bedding but it would get too complicated to clean out, sigh. Maybe someday we'll figure something out? They adore it, and it's been well worth the mess they make!

Made rat (& hamster) food tonight! Couple cooked parrot food mixes, mixed in last bit of Chop that was mostly grains, plus kale & mustard greens, dried flower mix, and some leftover brussel sprouts & butternut squash from human dinners. Immediate hit with the rats!

There were 4 humans in the room. Where did 4 of the 5 upstairs big kids need to be?

First x-ray was October 2023. Second x-ray was March 2024.

We found his bones!!!!

Ed's bloodwork came back all in normal ranges too, and his broken leg has healed! Metabolic bone disease can't really be "fixed", but we've absolutely stopped the progression. His bones are still a little soft, and his growth was stunted, so he'll stay smaller in size. But he's come SO far and the vet was as thrilled as us with his progress!

Looking forward to many hopefully healthy years with this boy now.

Made enrichment for the small mammals tonight! Collard greens stuffed with alfalfa sprouts and ratty Chop! The rats are not amused that the food is hard. 😂

Do you have any tips on force feeding a baby bearded dragon critical care? I work at a pet store (I know) and we have a sick beardie. We brought her to the vet and she has a respiratory infection and was prescribed antibiotics. She Will NOT open her mouth. We tried using a blunt needle to get into her mouth but even then it's really difficult to get her mouth open and I do not want to damage her teeth... she also stopped eating for a bit. She would only drink water if we directly sprayed her or bathed her. We tried spraying her with very watered down critical care which worked but was less than ideal for a variety of reasons. She seems to have perked up a bit since we started doing that and began eating on her own, but seems to have declined again in the past 24 hours. She mostly just stays in the basking spot, very rarely moving. We have a variety of different foods in her tank if she chooses to eat. Her respiratory infection seems to be doing better but I'm worried it'll come back. We are giving her baths and spraying her down frequently throughout the day to keep her hydrated. We've been trying really hard to improve her health and she already has an owner that loves her dearly and visits nearly daily. We can take her back to the vet but they are just a general exotic vet and their experience lays more with small animals rather than reptiles and I'm positive they'd just prescribe more antibiotics. Do you have any suggestions of what we could try? Any foods that may be extra appetizing? We've done carnivore CC, mealworms, crickets, a variety of veggies, soaked shitty bearded dragon pelleted food, etc. When she was eating a little on her own she went for crickets and some leafy greens. But they don't seem to entice her now and I'm leary of leaving crickets in with a lethargic beardie. Sorry for the long ask I'm just super worried about her and want to see her improve.

I'm afraid I'm extremely new to any of this myself, so I'm not sure I can help much. We haven't even really tried to force our rescue yet, and won't unless the vet tells us we need to.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that, it sounds like a very tough situation. :( I tried to save a baby beardie like 12 years ago when I worked at a pet store too. It's not an easy job when you do actually care about the animals. Good luck to you & the lil bub!
