not a poem but if you haven’t read ross gay you’re doing yourself an enormous disservice. his writing, to cite his title, incites joy. not happiness, always, but joy in that you feel everything and your heart is trying to leave your chest and join your gods and ghosts in keeping you deeply, deeply, intertwined with the world and deeply, deeply, alive.
