Scenario Game Prompts: Dec, 14, D: Carson takes you to an arcade because it is your birthday. Requested By: @livyourlive

Pairing: Carson Beckett x Gen!Neutral Reader

You hadn’t actually planned on doing anything for your birthday. You got leave and were able to go back to Earth for the weekend, but you had nothing to do with the time off. So you sat around your apartment for the first day, relaxing and asking the time to de-stress. But honestly, you were bored. You didn’t particularly need nor want to celebrate your birthday in any fancy or exciting way. But, you would even have preferred to stay around the Atlantis base, at least you would have people to talk too. But your required leave came up at the same time as your birthday, and you had no choice but to come back to Earth.

As you lounged on your couch catching up with some news you tapped your foot rhythmically as you tried to ignore how bored you were. Suddenly, three knocks were heard from your door, making you get a light jolt of excitement, though you weren’t sure why, it was probably just a delivery or something.

Pulling open your door you were surprised to see Carson standing there, hands in pocket and smile on his face “Hello there” he greeted.

You smiled and shook your head lightly in disbelief “Carson? What are you doing here?” You asked as you stepped aside, motioning for him to come in

As he walked past you and into your apartment he answered your question “I got a couple days off, and thought I’d come save you from your boredom.”

You chuckled “How’d you know I was bored?”

He spun around and looked at you “Because I know you. You hate nothing more than being stuck alone in your apartment with nothing to do. I also, happen to know what today is.” he smiled lightly “Happy birthday Y/n.”

You smiled at him, feeling your heart speeding up “You don’t have to waste your day off to entertain me Carson.”

He shook his head lightly “It’s not a waste of time Y/n, my time off was actually supposed to be next weekend, but I asked specifically for it to be changed to this weekend. You deserve to do something fun instead of pacing around your apartment alone.”

You couldn’t help the giddiness that began to take over as you suddenly stepped forward and hugged Carson, making him laugh and hug you back “I really was so bored” you said as you laughed with him.

As you pulled away he chuckled again “Well, I had an idea.”

“What?” You asked with a grin as he reached into his pocket, before pulling out a flyer. Taking it you saw that it was for a big arcade spot nearby. You had passed by it before and always wanted to go in, but never liked the idea of going alone.

“Oh!” you exclaimed “I’ve always wanted to go here, but never had anyone to go with!”

He smiled, relieve that you liked the idea “Good, let’s go then.”

“Okay, just let me get dressed” you said as you ran through your apartment towards your room, Carson watching you with a fond smile.

After making your way to the arcade, you were overwhelmed with the lights, games and pries littering the building. You wrapped your arm through Carson’s as you spoke to him over the loud music, unaware of how nervous your closeness made him “What should we do first?”

“It’s your birthday, your choice!” he said meeting your eyes, very aware of how close your faces were as his eyes glanced over your lips before he looked away, hoping you hadn’t noticed his gaze.

“Yes!” You cheered as you hoped up and down, Carson exclaiming in disappointment as he lost for the third time in the game of air hockey. “So what is it now best five out of seven?”

“No, no” he gave in “There’s no way I’m winning after that utter humiliation.” He said with a chuckle. You rounded the table while smiling brightly at him. “I’m just glad you’re having fun.” Carson commented.

“I’m having so much fun Carson” you re-iterated before leaning forward and pressing a kiss to his cheek “Thank you.”

“Oh- uh- thank- no, uh- you’re welcome, you are very welcome.” He finished clumsily, making you giggle, and making his heart pound harshly in his chest as he hoped his cheeks were not as hot red as they felt. “So, the basketball game next?” he asked hoping to distract himself as you smiled at him, trying not to giggle at his flushed face.

Laughing loudly when he cheered out of shock of winning the game, you clapped your hands as he turned to you “Did you see that?”

“Yeah I did! You are much better at this that I am.” You replied.

“Congratulations! Which prize would you like to take?” The vendor asked as he motioned to the large toys pinned up on the wall.

Carson pointed to a large plush polar bear, once handed to him he turned and handed it to you “For you.”

You smiled “What? No Carson you won the game, you should keep it.”

He shook his head “No no, it’s your birthday, I won it for you.”

Gingerly taking the bear, you hugs your arms around it before smiling gleefully at Carson, who stared fondly back at you. His eyes seemed to catch on something behind you, making his eyes widen as he smiled “Ah, you made it!”

Turning to see who he was talking too, you were surprised when you spotted John, Teyla, Rodney and Ronan all walking towards you.

“Wha- what are you guys doing here?!” You asked, looking between them and Carson.

“Well-” John began “We managed to convince Weir to let us off for a bit to help celebrate someones birthday, we just had some paperwork to fill out so these two could come with us.” He said referring to Teyla and Ronan.

You grinned happily at them before turning back to Carson “You knew they were gonna come?” He nodded at you in response.

“What is all this stuff?” Ronan asked suddenly as he continued to eye all the games around the room.

“Ooh, come on Ronan, over here.” You said as you grabbed him by the arm and began to drag him towards one of the gun games “You’ll like this one.”

The others chuckled as they watched you giddily showing Ronan the games. You looked back and met Carsons eyes before grinning at him. He smiled at you, happy he could make you smile so wide, and hoping he could continue to do so many times more.

Part 5 of Sheppard Distracts Atlantis: Warm

It’s Carson’s turn this time 😇

Carson swallowed hard, feeling… a touch warm.

The sun wasn’t the problem— though it was a lovely day, fishing off the mainland under a clear blue summer sky. The problem was Colonel Sheppard. Having finished his beer, he seemed intent on all but fellating the mouth of the empty bottle, sucking it absentmindedly and licking absolutely nothing off the rim.

Repeatedly.

Carson couldn’t look away.

Sheppard glanced over and grinned, hazel eyes strikingly green in the sunlight. “Pass me another, would ya, doc?”

Smooth, smoky glass met wet, pink lips, Sheppard’s throat bobbed as he swallowed, and Carson started sweating.

I guess I forgot about the episode where Carson dies so I wrote a little thing because I am still very sad. (It is implied that he ascended) I haven't talked much about my Stargate ships but I think about them a lot.

"I can't believe you're gone. Just the other day we were fishing together and now you're…" she stopped and turned to the illuminated figure of Doctor Carson Beckett. He smiled softly, the sight of it always put her at ease.

"But I'm not gone dear." His Scottish accent was the thing that drew her to him at first. Everything he said was adorable. "I'm standing right here… though I am breaking a few rules just being here… I couldn't-" he stopped talking and hugged himself. He looked away, a deep sadness in his eyes. The urge to pull him into a hug made her tense. He took a deep breath and looked back at her. "Anyway.. I hope you're not hurting too much. I'll do everything in my power to make sure I can see you again." He gave you another smile as his form began to fade. "I love you little lamb. Make sure you get enough sleep and eat at least three times a day!"

She walked towards his form as he faded away, tears streaming down her face. "I love you too.." just as fast as he appeared he was gone. She sat down on her bed and looked at the floor, through her sadness she smiled.

Quarantine

Imagine living on Atlantis and when Dr. Beckett quarantines you in the infirmary when you catch the flu, your boyfriend Evan comes to visit.

Quarantine

When Lorne came into the infirmary he saw that Dr. Beckett had already sequestered you into a far corner to keep you away from his other patients, even though that was basically just Dr. Stevens and Dr. Barton who'd somehow managed to simultaneously trip and injure themselves while on the mainland the day before. He didn't necessarily find your imprisonment amusing, but you griping about it all was usually entertaining.

“Good evening, Major.” Carson greeted him. “You're welcome t' stay for awhile, just don' keep her up t' long.” He gave Evan a smile and a pat on the shoulder, then left.

You rolled onto your side in the bed, your pale face and red eyes having taken most of the bite out of your glare. “Don't say it.”

He pulled up a stool and sat down beside you. “I told you last night you were coming down with something.”

“I had work I needed to get done this morning, I don't have time to be sick.” You croaked through a sore throat.

Evan nodded and tugged the blanket back up over your shoulder. “Yeah, except you passed out during your meeting with Dr. Weir and Colonel Sheppard and he had to carry you in here.” He teased. “Now Dr. Beckett isn't going to free you for days.”

“Can you tease me when I don't feel so horrible?”

His expression softened and he took your hand. “I know, I'm sorry. Did Dr. Beckett at least give you the good drugs?”

You shook your head. “I hope not, I still feel like shit.”

From the way you looked he wasn't surprised, if he looked that bad he'd probably feel like shit too.

“And my head still hurts.” You added when he kissed your knuckles. “And the infirmary is drafty, I'm freezing.”

Evan listened to your continuing list of grievances with a sympathetic smile and finally just stood up. He walked around the bed and crawled up behind you which stopped you mid complaint.

“What are you doing? You can't get this close to me.”

He wrapped his arm around you and tucked your head under his chin. “Relax, you said you were cold.”

“I'm patient zero.” You said in a surprisingly dramatic tone.

He chuckled. “You just have the flu.”

Theatrics still intact you sighed. “Please don't argue. You have to leave right now, you aren't safe here.”

“Honey, if I haven't already been infected it's a miracle so I've probably got nothing to lose. Besides I know how much you hate being stuck in the infirmary at night.” He rubbed your shoulder and waited until he felt you sink back against his chest. “You'll feel better in the morning.”

Smutty Blog Introduction

Hello fellow earthlings! I’ve been debating for a while now on whether or not to become more active on this platform. Given the short nature (ish) of the content here, it seems like a good option given that I’m currently quite busy with Uni and other life stuff in general, but still feel that writer’s itch and wish to write down thoughts and ideas to explore some creative avenues. Now, for that to happen, I’m more than happy to take requests, given that I’m a part of quite a few fandoms. I’ll also add the characters I’d be willing to write for, so you guys get an idea as to what to expect.

That being said, this is a blog largely dedicated to all the smutty fics I come up with, so it’ll mostly be one-shots, drabbles, headcannons, NSWF alphabets, etc. I reserve the right to not write certain stuff because, well, I might not be into it (this includes underage stuff and noncon, straight off the bat, sorry, that’s just how it is). so... i went a little overboard. angsty missing scene from the end of s4. 1,034 words. beckett/mckay. moderately unedited so bear with me!

He can hardly hear the monitor over his own throbbing pulse, even when he grits his teeth and tries to force himself to focus. To calm down. To quit picking at the seam of the blanket Keller had arranged just-so over Carson’s middle. (Because that was all they could do, wasn’t it?) The poison of that thought is what finally offers him some startling clarity.

Rodney approximates stillness, unclenches his jaw.

It could be worse. He could be gone. (Again.)

Shaking away the thought, Rodney leans forward, staring even more intently at the trembling rise and fall of Beckett’s chest. It’s irregular – but he’d always had his quirks, from sleeping with elbows and knees jutting out from the covers to mumbling nonsense Gaelic that had once (completely rationally) led Rodney to believe he’d been possessed by an alien (which was not beyond the realm of possibility, contrary to what Carter had told him about his so-called paranoias). But watching Beckett sleep, quietly or not, and watching him fight for his life – him, no matter the circumstances -- come with different sets of equally unsettling emotions.

Just like the first time, he can’t do anything to help him.

“Still here?”

To say he starts would be an understatement. Maybe the sixth cup of coffee he’d had brought to the infirmary hadn’t been the best for his nerves. Rodney wets his lips to keep himself from biting out with his usual sarcasm. It’s not Carson’s fault he’s got himself twisted into knots.

Well. It is. And that’s why he tempers himself.

“I.. Yeah, Carson. Still here.”

His fingers twitch where they nearly touch Carson’s. In another world, he’d have woken up to Rodney holding him. In yet another, they would’ve woken up together, blissfully unaware of hybrid cloning experiments and organic combustion units.

“I’d say you shoulda brought flowers this time,” Beckett pulls on a wry smile as if he isn’t hooked up to more machines than he could count on his fingers. “…but I suppose the pollen would just make you miserable. And then me.”

Rodney blanches, frowns, then immediately begins to strategize. “I can get you flowers if you want. Katie—”

“It was a joke, Rodney. You haven’t left, have you?”

“Well if you mean… then I… you know… No.”

They hadn’t spoken about it. Directly, at least. This Carson Beckett had no memory of the six months that had taken them from friends to… to something more. Even without them, he knew Rodney well enough to know when he wasn’t saying what he wanted to say. (To be honest, he knows his poker face might not be his best feature.) And Carson could never pick up on his hesitation without diagnosing the source.

Rodney’s not the one in the bed but it sure feels like he’s the one being scanned. Evaluated. Deemed beyond saving.

Carson sighs, then coughs, and Rodney is glad for the opportunity to evade his gaze, no matter how short-lived. The second he can breathe again, it’s to say exactly what Rodney expects. “You can’t… do this to yourself. Because of me.”

There’s no escaping the thread of bitterness when he says, “I can and I will.” But it dies in the air when he sees the worry deepening in the lines of Carson’s face, leaving him only with a stubbornness that has taken too many blows recently and, despite those fresh wounds, the hope that he can affect change where – and for whom – it matters most. “You of all people should know there’s no stopping me.”

Usually, saying something like that would start an argument. The spark is there in Beckett’s blue eyes, but, between the two of them, he’s not the one to lash out in defense when the real fight is one he’s losing every minute. Especially not when confronted with the inevitability of Rodney McKay. No one had gotten more members of the Atlantis expedition out of dire straits than he had, with the notable exception of the person he was currently trying to save.

As if Carson can read his mind— “Can’t last forever.”

He might not remember it, but they’d had this discussion before. How many times could Rodney work himself into the ground to solve the unsolvable before he gave out? When you have the number, let me know. I’m keeping tally, so it should work out fine, he’d snarked. Carson rolled his eyes at him more often than Sheppard, those days – and that was saying something.

He didn’t need to last forever. Immortality had never been his fantasy. In the form of legacy, maybe… but. Even that felt cheap when being here – with everyone, his team, his friends, his… with Carson, who put up with him as much as he tried to set him straight, now and again, in his unfailingly diplomatic and occasionally colloquially-opaque way. Before Atlantis, he’d never really known any of that. And now… now he doesn’t want more time if it means… without— There’s no point if—

Maybe he’d taken Sheppard’s leave no man behind attitude a step too far. He’s a bit prone to excess.

Rodney stares at Carson’s chest again, swallowing hard. Then he stands. It’s already been too long. He should’ve gotten Keller the moment he woke up. The lapse is another thing he’ll blame himself for if he doesn’t manage to get his plan to work.

In quick, nervous succession, he squeezes Carson’s fingers then swoops down to kiss his forehead, right above his eyebrow. It’s hardly more than a peck, but as he shifts back on his heels to walk away he sees his eyes squeeze shut, the ghost of smile on his lips – as if his heart were twisting a bit in his chest. Rodney knows the feeling. Carson… this Carson… He deserves to know it, too.

10. Dean limped into the ER, his younger - but much taller - brother helping to support his weight.

Supernatural (Destiel): Written for the prompt, 'Character A and Character B meet in the ER on Christmas Eve.'

9. Carson Beckett looked up from his class notes as one of his students walked in, face down, shoulders rising and falling in time with her sobs.

Stargate Atlantis (McBeck): Carson Beckett's newest colleague frequently reduces his students to tears, and he's determined to do something about it.

8. 'Why masturbate alone when you could find your masturmate?’ the ad across the top of the screen asked.

Stargate Atlantis (McBeck): When Dr Carson Beckett jerks off with a stranger online, he notices there's something not quite right with his companion.

7. Nobody has seen Rodney McKay naked since he was twenty-three and his college roommate accidentally walked in on him changing.

Stargate Atlantis (McShep): Rodney's never had much luck with relationships - if you can call his sexual encounters that. He knows his petty, arrogant nature keeps people from getting too close and, given his insecurity about his looks, he's learned be okay with that. But that was before he fell for Sheppard, and before Sheppard kissed him. Now his insecurities have come flooding to the fore and he's afraid of being hurt in a way his arrogant front has protected him from for all these years.

6. Castiel quickly yet smoothly rocked the knife back and forward across the chopping board, leaving a neat pile of chopped red chillies in its wake.

Supernatural (Destiel): Written for the prompt, 'You thought our cooking smelled good and walked into our kitchen drunk as fuck wanting to try some AU'

5. A loud boom shakes the room and Dean rolls off the sofa in one smooth motion.

Supernatural (Destiel): Part 3 of my ‘Man On A Ledge’ series. When 4th of July fireworks trigger Dean, sending him back to Afghanistan, Cas calms him down.

4. Dean hated that Sam always remembered his birthday.

Supernatural (Destiel): Dean hates celebrating his birthday, but every year he humours Sam in his attempts to behave like a normal family for the day. This year, however, Dean is starting to feel his age and is really not in the mood to celebrate; however this is also the year Castiel has learned that humans receive gifts on their birthdays, and has insisted on getting Dean something as well.

3. Of all the ways Dean had imagined himself crawling into Cas's lap, straddling him, and pressing as close to him as he possibly could without actually being part of him, this wasn't it.

Supernatural (Destiel): Dean's reaction if Castiel hadn't been resurrected in 9.03 I'm No Angel. (drabble)

2. Castiel started as a hand covered his eyes.

Supernatural: Castiel finds out Dean is now a demon. (drabble)

Music

You sat on the edge of the bed, looking around the med bay. Your arm still aching from the shot you took off-world. You absentmindedly began humming one of your favorite songs as you waited.

Carson, when walking in, saw you sitting patiently, swinging your legs, a soft tune coming from you, he seemed to recognize it before letting out a soft chuckle, gaining your attention “Are you humming Mozart ?”

“Was I?” you asked with an amused smile “I didn’t even notice”

He walked over to you and looked at your arm as he began to bandage it “Personally I prefer Beethoven”

“Really? I like him too, but I’ve been practicing Bach recently, so”

He glanced up at you “You play an instrument?”

“I play a couple, Piano, Violin”

He smiled at you “That’s very impressive”

“I guess” you smiled shyly

“It is, trust me, I wish I could do anything having to do with music, but the only way you’ll get a decent sound out of me is if you put me in a bucket with a lid on it” he spoke modestly.

You let out a short laugh “Well, at least you can appreciate music, who else do you like? And not just classical composers”

He smiled, continuing to bandage your arm as he began talking about some of his favorite music. You stopping him every once in a while with a comment or agreement. Forgetting about the pain in your arm, your mind was now on music and the Doctor enthusiastically talking about it with you.
