Nihitober Day 31: Void

We made it!!! The last Nihitober artwork!! Can't believe how insanely fast this month passed.

So this was the view outside the window of my flight today. No filter.

At the edge of the horizon, all shades of blues and purples and lilacs and oranges and vermilions and carmines had blended and fused together creating a dazzling iridiscence that my phone couldn't truly capture.

And guess what it reminded me of. I wonder if Kishi took a flight to the valleys and mountains at dusk many years ago....

Perhaps he saw that place where the sky met the sun and created mad colours, and they were simply unforgettable, so he permanently recorded its majesty in Sasuke and Naruto. His gift to the world..

An update on the job situation:

I was chosen for the position, which was exciting. BUT. I ended up turning down the offer myself after a friend that works there called me to warn me about certain problems with that specific job. It would have been super cool and a very fitting - and fun - role for me, but those problems were unfortunately a deal breaker for me, and I think it was better to find out now rather than after I'd been hired. The boss was really sweet though. I went to negotiate with him one last time before turning down the offer and I could tell he was sincerely trying everything in his power to find a solution. I could tell that he really wanted me for the job just as much as I wanted that job, but sometimes it's just not going to work out. I gave him my business card before I left, as he was interested in my illustration / graphic design skills, so he can commission me for art at least.

But man, that was a hard decision to make. It would be much easier to say no if the job had sucked and the boss would have been awful, but they were wonderful. My friend even sent me a message to tell me they had all really liked me, so apparently they were still talking about me after I left (I cried when I heard that)... But yeah, that idea got buried, sadly.

I think I'll focus on marketing my art / book for a while before attempting to search for other jobs again. Speaking of which, I will publish my book (officially) very soon!

And if Eskew will not let me go...then it will have to keep breaking me down, bone by bone and cell by cell, until there’s nothing left, because as long as there’s a single working part of me left in this body, I will not stop hunting, not stop running, and if it tears me down and snuffs me out, turns me into something broken and devolved like Kenneth or the architect or I swear my empty brain will keep my twisted mouth moaning out the words like a foghorn:
