Just a question, a serious one, for you or anyone else here. Sorry, this is a long post.

If you are totally okay with whoever S wants to date and you are just happy for him, then why do you allow people on your blog to trash these women? I know a couple of the women he's supposed to have dated have done some things to and/or said some things about Sam that were bad. But most of them still follow him (if they did before) and most of them have said nothing bad about him. Why not defend them? We don't know for sure which of them he dated casually, more seriously, or at all. It's mostly conjecture. Why are the women always attacked?

If we all do really love Sam and his work AND support whatever type of love life he chooses, then why do we look for every bad trait about the women associated with him? I do think a couple of them maybe wanted him for his money or fame, but all of them didn't do that. Sam is a grown-ass man, and while I do think he is a nice and sweet people pleaser, I don't think he is gullible enough to only go out with women who want to use him or who are trashy. It's terrible for women to attack other women when the only reason they do it is based on conjecture.

I know many here won't agree with me, but when I look at Katie , Abbie, and Mackenzie I don't see fake, plastic , bougie women. There are others we have seen him with who also don't look that way. Why would we assume he's attracted to those types? Just because he looks at or follows women who might fit that type, doesn't mean that's the type of woman he really wants a relationship with. The women I see on IG often just remind me of what has always appeared in men's' magazines, it's just easier now to post your own photos. Much of that is fantasy and men are really visual.

Personally, I just don't believe he has dated every woman associated with him in the last 10 years. I just don't. I also don't believe he has dated someone if we have no actual proof. Being around someone, friends with someone, hanging out with someone, having a meal with someone doesn't always mean dating them. Everyone jumps to conclusions EVERY SINGLE TIME he is rumored to be connected to a woman. I have even read where Sam said there are numerous scenarios about who he has dated or is dating and many of them aren't true.

Sure, it's fun to speculate. But when it moves to attacking these women, that's too far. We don't know Sam or any of these women personally- at least most of us don't. We only know what they may share on SM. I find it appalling the ugly, hateful things I have seen written about Karina Elle and Monika Clarke in the last year or so, for example. Unless someone here has more proof than I have seen - real proof- we don't know IF or how long he actually dated either of them. We don't know if he dated one, but not the other. We don't know if he dated them both at the same time. Only Sam and the women know for sure. Without irrefutable proof, we don't know what happened between them. Someone dropping an anon that he was at a football game with his hands on KE's ass, or that he was spotted in Brooklyn with a tall, beautiful brunette shopping but with NO photos just isn't proof. I'm sorry, but if you can hang around a location long enough to KNOW it's Sam and KNOW the identity of the woman, you can get a photo. I know many say they didn't take a photo because they didn't want to invade their privacy. Well if that's true, then why post about it on a fan blog???? I would guess that any fan who may have seen him with a date and asked for a photo with him- who genuinely likes and respects Sam-- probably knows who he was with and has chosen not to post it anywhere out of respect for Sam and the woman.

I fan over him too. Sometimes I love the speculation too. But these women are real human beings and we need to remember that. And if we love and respect Sam, we need to respect his own choices. He doesn't need my permission to date or care about any woman. But if I respect him, I shouldn't trash a woman he chooses to spend time with.

Anon, you've mistaken me for some other blogs. This is PURV, one of my number one rules for my blog is that I don't allow any hate toward Sam or Cait OR Tony OR any woman Sam dates. I delete hate comments other people may have left on my posts, and I warn the person that if they do it again, I'll block them. Sometimes, people will reblog a post and leave a hate comment, but there's nothing I can do there because I can't delete a reblog. But the person will automatically get blocked.

So, please pay better attention or realize you're mistaking me for other blogs, I don't tolerate hate for the women Sam dates at all. If anything, out of respect for him. If he picks a woman to date, then he must find qualities in her he likes, and that's good enough for me. Whatever and whoever makes him happy, I'm happy for him. Simple as that.

As for your specific comment about not knowing whether Karina or Monika dated Sam. Um, the sighting at the football game was not an Anon. It was an identifiable real person who was at the game and saw them together and their interactions. A source I directly talked to. She has no horse in this race, no reason to lie. I got the info from her directly and I know her full identity. So, there is NO doubt her sighting was real. As for Monika, there are PICS of Sam and Monika KISSING at a restaurant in New York. And I also DMed with the photographer who TOOK the pics. He confirmed neither Sam or Monika's people called him. He's a photographer active in New York and gets around a lot. The pics are real and the kiss was real.

So, while you're right that there are some women associated with Sam where it's only speculation with no proof...the two you mentioned there IS proof. And plenty of others as well. Simply search my blog or do a Google Search. There's more proof for Karina and Monika than the two instances I mentioned. And he didn't date them at the same time.

And to reiterate: I, Purv, DO NOT allow any hate on my blog toward ANY woman Sam dates. And certainly no hate for Cait's husband, Tony. Apparently that wasn't clear to you. I hope it is now. Sorry to be pissy, but it's annoying seeing this first thing in the morning, when I've literally made it my blog's work to NOT hate on any of Sam or Cait's significant others. I'm one of the few blogs who sets this boundary.

You want my essay? You'll get my essay. So starting this off people tend to write Zhongli as someone who tends to be oblivious to mortal life, or someone who never has mora on his person. From what Ive seen they treat him like he's still an archon in the current timeline, and have no regard for the fact man's just trying to have a retirement and enjoy what he couldn't as an archon. NOT TO MENTION HIM BEING CONSTANTLY BROKE. (I can't remember if money has come up in the fic but good fuckin LORD I hate it when people use him being broke as a personality trait bc its??? so??? not??? That however is a rant for another time)

That's what I enjoy so much about when you write him because in the fic you write him mid transition between his more aggressive, and brutish personality as Morax while having him starting to become more responsible, and mellowed out as Zhongli. You take consideration of the fact he did a 180 on his personality overtime, but even though he is mellowed out you still have him take on aggressive moments when it violates the contracts he has made, i.e Abbess (fuck the abbess me and the homies hate the abbess), and the one he made with Li Lei for Reader's safety. He makes mistakes due to not truly being human, and he has learned from his mistakes which helps him grow as a person, and understand the common folk he watches over. which is a canon thing he does in the game. He has made mistakes on judgement, or does something that is typically not done in the modern age, and he sort of realizes it too which helps him blend in better. Yet you can still tell with he's not human in the fic too (which is actually canon alot of characters can tell there's something off abt him it's so funny)

Over the course of the fic you can see him grow as a person, and how he has slight changes after properly becoming the Archon of Liyue. He drops his more guarded, and composed self after the war is over, and he becomes a lot more free in how he acts. Reader tends to be one of the people he can act free, and not someone who is the god of Liyue which is so nice to see.

You also write him being half-dragon so gorgeously. This is just me fr being a Dragon nerd BUT people write him having western dragon traits such as being possessive, and aggressive. BUT HE'S BASED OFF EASTERN DRAGONS???? They're known for being proud, wise, and powerful creatures. They're respected bc of having a high intelligence unlike western dragons, and its so refreshing to see him written more similar to eastern dragons compared to everyone writing him with western personality traits. My dragon obsessed brain tips it hat to u.

You take so much into consideration, and you've actually taken the time to understand him in a way you can portray him as accurate as you can manage. And you keep nailing which the characterization honestly. Ive read a lot of stuff for this man, and you've been one of the few who actually manage to make him both a god, and yet seem completely human at the same time.

First off, thank you and I love you sm. (Oh god now I’M rambling lmao)

The money thing has come up a couple times, mainly in the beginning because everyone was like “hey he’s the god of wealth, you’ll at least live comfortably even if you’re not happy.” I focused more on the contract part of his lore because it’s an arranged marriage fic, so that’s a bigger focal point than him spawning coins.

One of my favourite parts about writing him and reader is that neither of them really know how to “act like people” but in complete opposite ways. Morax is not human, and because of his long lifespan he like, doesn’t have either the understanding of human customs or the full patience to learn. Reader grew up very sheltered and overthinks everything to the point where even mundane tasks can be nerve wracking. Still, they want to know how to act like people, Morax so he can better empathize/interact with his wife, and reader so they don’t feel like they have to rely on him.

Also, the dragon thing: it’s not even just an eastern vs western dragon thing, it’s that I highly doubt his brain goes just full animal brain when he’s not in a humanoid form. That’s still Morax in there, and maybe certain traits come out more depending on his form/mindstate, but he’s literally a conscious thinking creature with thoughts and feelings and opiniond. That doesn’t just go away!

like idgaf abt captain colonizer tho im still waiting for marvel writers to finally understand that if steve was actually the moral force they portray him as then he wouldve drop the colonizer costume and shield yesterday, but omfg why do stony shippers hate Steve sm?

everywhere i go the shippers - really theyre just ironman fans - rag on Steve and everything abt him and anything that points to him being a character that originated from a diff franchise, and the only times they don't is when theres commercial cashgrab crossover slop that characterizes him as bland and historyless as possible. like ffs they all think that shitty avengers academy mobile game is his "best" version. atp the whole ship feels like an exercise in removing character traits until theres nothing but a blond blue eyed character design left

Honestly I think it depends on which side of the fandom your in because what you're talking Abt reminds me of the MCU Stony fandom.

Most of the people who like MCU Stony are people who mostly try cope with the fact that there wasn't really much relationship build off from Steve In that universe, because he was bland, similar to how I feel about emh Steve and EMH Stony in general despite me shipping it myself.

I think that most Stony fans don't hate Steve they just wish that the writers would like.. write him, like , good. An example of a Steve I think everyone can agree on is AA Steve, which is known for being some the best Steve characterizations we've gotten in a while, because of the way Roger Craig Smith does his softer voice and normal Steve voice that displays both a captain and a caring person that would try and help out with your problems.

And as much as I don't agree with the "Captain Colonizer" Statement, mostly because Steve is a representation of the people of America not the government, as much as marvel tries to make it seem that way cap is someone that helps the little guys and unless there's a habit avengers level threat or just something happening down town, he doesn't go side with the government, evident by the fact that in AA (S2/3ish) neither Steve and tony were working with the government, it was obviously on already uneasy terms, but after they showed lack of remorse for human lives, it ended up leading the team to split up publicly and work to help everyone underground away from ultrons weird government bullshit that entire season.

And afiak, They stopped "uneasily" working with the government after this, it was really only with big events like thanos and ultron anyway, and the avengers work alone, and they don't like being controlled by government pencil necks who don't care.

Although it should be noted that, most other Steve vary on this position, Im not gonna use civil war as a talking point here cuz both the comic and the movies adaptations are shit and Steves feelings towards the government are a lot more wishy washy in 616, and the MCU is a huge example of going in the wrong direction with how to do that. And the fact that if we're being honest Steve would go down to wherever shits going down and help him fucking self. he don't take that shit, he will defend the side of the right. Hes not about that wishy washy government bullshit as much as marvel's military funded ass shitty movie cinematic universe will try to make you believe and just and fyi: all the mcus shit is from ults.. AND IT ISNT THE GOOD STUFF FROM ULTS!!!

But anyway, most people hate Steve because they don't like the fact that Steves character keeps getting worse and worse, even more bastardized, and flanderized, and written terrible, by people who don't understand the complexites or history of his character, which end us with a problem where there are conflicts with newer steve fans who like his flanderized ults-like take in the MCU, or the comic fans who like his original version and would like for him to return back to something that truly represents him as a person, whether or not he has changed since then is entirely separate and goes too indepth so I'll leave it to the wolves.

Also, yeah most Stony fans are Tony fans, you can't have one without the other, because Tony is a key part of making the relationship work, and from what I've found Most Steve tony shippers like them both but there's either a dissonance between liking one more than the other or liking them equally, and I think that remains prevalent outside of the MCU.

And for your final question, no, most Stony fans don't think avac Steve is the best character version, idk where you got that from, but it wasn't the fandom no siree, that seems a bit biased. And as I've said earlier, the consensus on "best Steve" usually seems to be either 616 Steve or Aa Steve, me personally I like aa steve more but my other friend likes 616 Steve, and I think it really comes down to these two because one is really solid adaptable and the other is the original character finally becoming good again with writers who care about him, (tony too, hes the main reason I got back into cap comics!)

Sorry this answer is kind of long, there isn't really much of a concrete answer besides that most people hate Steve because they wish he wants written so badly 😭 it's kinda sad, but I hoped this answered your question!!! If ya have anything else to ask to drop me another ask ^_^

Approaching Nana is not an easy task since she comes off as aloof and intimidating yet beautiful to most people. But don’t worry! Nana is quite easy to talk to and whether you meet her on your own or through a mutual friend, she’ll accept you with semi-open arms.

Don’t get things twisted though. It takes a lot for Nana to open up to someone and she doesn’t talk about herself to people she doesn’t know. If you ask questions or get curious, she’ll only answer so much and she’ll tell you if she doesn’t wanna talk about whatever the subject is. In return, Nana won’t ask you anything personal about your own life or past unless you bring it up in conversation.

How Nana opens/warms up to you depends on when you meet her in life. If you meet her while she’s in Tokyo after her break-up with Ren, then you’ll have an easier time since she’s at a more stable time in her life and is trying to strike it big in the music industry. If you meet her after Ren’s death and her departure from Tokyo, getting close to her will be pretty difficult because of all the trauma and pain she’s gone through. Either way, you’ll have to prove yourself to Nana if you wanna get in her good graces.

Nana has never dated a woman before so if you wanna explore your attraction to her, you’ll have to make the first move. She’ll be flustered and sputter a bit but she’ll come around when you give her enough time. If you really wanna get Nana’s attention, be bold and unapologetic about it. She might complain and bitch at you but anyone can tell she’s not really mad. Go easy on the poor gal will ya?

Sadly being with Nana isn’t gonna be all sunshine and rainbows. Balancing her career and personal life is one of the biggest struggles she has to face daily and there will be times when she’ll choose BLAST over you. Nana will not abandon her career for the sake of your relationship but she doesn’t want to lose you either. If you have a career of your own, then that makes things much better but there will be some tension if you’re better at balancing things than she is.

Another flaw of being with Nana is how possessive and manipulative she is. Once you establish yourself as a constant in her life, Nana’s not letting go of you. She’s like a pit bull that’s locked onto you and she’ll bite anyone that tries to hurt you. Nana’s possessiveness isn’t as straightforward as Shin’s and you probably won’t even realize that she has this trait unless you’re very good at observing and reading between the lines. But Nana’s possessiveness is smothering and it can feel like you’re catering to her all the time like you’re some kind of pet. She also suffers from anxiety, often having panic attacks but she tries to keep it a secret from you so she doesn't worry you.

Once Nana gets used to you and being in a relationship with you, she’ll start taking charge and initiating things more often. She doesn’t want you doing all the work because she’ll feel guilty which is due to how independent she is.

If you’re the kind of gal who takes no bullshit and will call Nana out to nip things in the bud, prepare yourself for an argument that will most likely end in tears. It will most likely be similar to the fight Nana had with Shin in Episode 36. The best way to resolve things with Nana is to stick to your guns and not fall for her tactics. Be the bigger person and Nana will respect you more.

Nana’s toxic traits and independence stem from her abandonment issues caused by her mother and Ren. She doesn’t want to lose any more people in her life and she doesn’t wanna be hurt again. But Nana is fully aware of her bad traits and wants to change but doesn’t know how to. She’s so used to running away from her problems that she’s made an art form out of it. Nana facing her issues head on will take a firm hand as well as patience from you. Show her that she’s not alone as well as support her wholeheartedly and she’ll be by your side, purring like a kitten.

1. Nana's only had one sexual partner (Ren) and she's never had sex with a woman before so when you two start to become intimate, you'll have to take the lead for a while since Nana has no idea what she's doing and she'll just be fumbling around which will lead to giggles between you two.

2. Nana's sex drive is pretty average and she's generally cautious too. But since she doesn't have to worry about pregnancy this time around, she'll definitely take more risks and can get pretty wild if she's pushed far enough. Nana prefers to have sex in the privacy of her own home and if you suggest having sex somewhere else, she'll get flustered and yell at you but she won't turn you down if you take a more physical approach. The only places Nana is willing to have sex with you is her dressing room, backstage after a concert, and in your car. You try to suggest anywhere else and you'll get shut down with a quickness.

3. Once Nana gets used to having sex with you, she's gonna start being more dominate and initiating sex more often. And it’s not a bother at all, lovebug, thank you for showering my writing with love 🥺💚 I’ll put the tips below under the cut!

WRITING ;

utilize your own experiences — this is something I do the most with my writing. My blurbs are oftentimes based on things that happened in my life. The reason why I hold tddol so near and dear to my heart the most is because the entire thing is heavily based on my own college shenanigans and each character emcompasses personality traits and quirks of my own irl friends. It makes the fic more believable as well because you can pull from your own emotions and thoughts from that time and put it into words. I gravitate towards college au the most because there’s no research involved when I’m the primary source :)

daydream — sometimes, it’s best to just let your mind wander and conjure up make-believe scenarios at 3 in the morning when it’s quiet and only the moon and stars are awake with you.

draw inspiration from your surroundings and people around you — this might be a little difficult if you’re in quarantine right now, but pay attention to who and what’s going on around you! go to a coffee shop and observe the different people that come and go. is there something going on with the couple sitting the corner or maybe the barista and her obviously favorite regular that she always gives a free scone to? Or maybe there’s something about the cute boy with the maroon beanie who taps away at his laptop, sipping on a hot chocolate. Make up random scenarios and back stories for these people!

dialogue — read what you write for your character’s dialogue and ask yourself, “do people actually speak this way?” People use the same words often in their speech, use contractions, have um’s and ah’s scattered here and there, trail off mid sentence, randomly go from one thought to the next, etc. Make sure the conversation sounds natural and flows well!

detail — detail is something I struggle with writing, but I feel like I’ve improved on it immensely with this little rule I’ve given myself. Each paragraph (?) has to be three to five lines long on a google doc, unless it’s a short dialogue line that I want to pack a punch with. By doing this, I’m making myself stop and think about the surroundings and what’s going on through my character’s mind or what they’re feeling. As the writer, you already know all of this and may not feel the need to write it down, but to a reader who’s unfamiliar with the universe you created, they won’t know any of it at all. So make sure to add in detail!

write when you feel like writing — this is just my personal opinion on this, but my writing comes out infinite times better when I write when I want to and not force myself to word vomit onto google docs. I kinda did that with I Dare You, and it’s actually my least favorite fic I’ve written on here because I’m not satisfied with the forced execution of it. I know some people prefer to set goals for themselves and write 2k a day regardless, which is incredibly awesome and I admire their determination and will power, but that’s not for me. I only write when I feel like it because I want it to be enjoyable and not feel like a job I’m forced to do. Unfortunately, that means I don’t have a set posting schedule, and fics often get scrapped midway when I decide I don’t want to write it anymore.

write what you want to write — I’m a firm believer in this. Indulge in your favorite au’s and tropes! Write a million bff2l stories (like I do lmao) if that’s the trope that makes you happy!!! Don’t worry about the notes, the number of reblogs, the word count, etc. Please don’t force yourself to write something you’re uncomfortable with or dislike for the sake of notes or readers. Your stories are for you first and foremost, so use them to make whatever your heart desires come to life!

STARTING A WRITING BLOG ;

choose a clean blog theme — make sure your blog is easy on the eyes and simple to navigate! You could be putting out god tier writings like Rick Riordan, but there’s a high chance people will give up on reading it if it’s in neon green, comic sans size 7 font on your flashy blog.

create a master list — this goes into the easy to navigate component as well! It’s best to have all the links to your writings and other important info in one post that you can put in your description for others to find.

use tags — I believe it’s only the first five tags that matter, so make it count! for instance, with ellipsism, it’s a jaemin angst, so I used #jaemin angst, #jaemin scenarios, #jaemin imagines, #nct imagines, and #nct scenarios as my first five tags. They’re pretty popular tags that correlate to my fic, and they’ll bring my fic to the attention of new readers!

reblog your fic — people are in all different time zones, so some of your followers might be asleep when you drop a fic and unfortunately miss it. you can queue a reblog of your fic at different time intervals after you posted it, so that your followers who missed it the first time have another chance at seeing it!

open requests / drabble games — i don’t know if this is your cup of tea, but if you’re stumped on what to write or are looking for inspiration, you can open requests/suggestions or hold a drabble game! This also can bring in new readers and allow you to interact with your followers :) but again, please don’t force yourself to write all of them if you don’t want to or if you’re comfortable with a certain request. At the end of the day, you reserve the right to say no to any request.

OOOH YES! Developing my chaotic lil beebs!!

Something I do that helps create my OCs is use even the littlest trait of my own and incooperate it into the character to make them simply HUMAN!! I’m all about humanized characters that can be relatable for people when they read. So here are the lovely examples that I incooperated in each!! Just for show :)

Charlotte Tarvers - kindness

Hazel Parker - quietness/shyness

Catherine McCown - strong female/leader

Elizabeth Elliot - humor

Natia Filipska - hiding your emotions

Klimeck Filipska - motherly figure

Ryzshard Filipski - tough on the outside, soft on the inside

All of these 7 OCs are characters who come from many of the traits inside myself, which makes it easier to write and easier to connect with. Because then I truly just SEE myself through the character, and it helps me write the character and really just KNOW the character! But this is more of just a basic overview of how this happens LOL I could go more in depth, but that’s quite the process :)

CHARACTERS!!! Characters usually come to me before a plot - usually where I get a scene with a nameless character and decided ‘ooooh I like that, let me make them a character and create a story for them!’ and that’s where it usually leads!

For example, one of the main reasons Sunshine Soldier became Sunshine Soldier was because I had written a little blurb between Charlotte and Speirs that was never featured in Sunshine Soldier, but I had thought about adding it, and that’s where Sunshine Soldier kicked off. It was a scene based in Mourmelon in Episode 5 - Crossroads actually! If anyone’s ever interested in that deleted scene aka the first ever developed scene idea for Sunshine Soldier, feel free to request - I’d be happy to post the like 20 sentence blurb?? LOL it was just a conversation, but one conversation started it all!

AND CHARLOTTE IS MY QUEEN SO I WILL NEVER NOT LOVE HER AND RAVE ABOUT HER AHHHHH she is a gem and I adore her character more than anything!! :)

MY WONDERFUL CHARACTERS AHHHHH my heart is so warm, that means sm :)))

My characters actually go through quite a process before being the characters published in the books! Quite a long process, as I really develop them and give them deep flaws, that are personal and very much HUMAN flaws, and then I put them in various life-like situations and test out what their reactions would be as such, and practice writing what their POV would be like and stuff. Especially with The Soldier of Stars - with 3 main female OCs, I really had to focus on showing POV switches even in the slightest bit to show that I had changed character POVS.

For example, you could tell Hazel Parker had her POV set because she never once called the Nazis the term ‘krauts’ - with her personality and the way she acts and regards any human - she holds too high a moral to call them Krauts. But you know you are in Catherine or Lizzie’s POV when the term Kraut is used, because they use it constantly. Hazel refuses to call them that - and it is really simple things like that if I’m being honest. Little quirky things that make a character more human in any aspect and any way I can. i’m gonna cry, this is my second time writing this post out because i accidentally closed out the tab,,, note to self to keep backup copies haha. but anyways! i can totally get this done for you! actually, i think i’ve seen a similar ask on another profile... small world hehe~ you and your sister seem really cool! i don’t mind at all if you stop by and chat sometimes! oh, but... without further ado, let’s give it everything we’ve got!

first off, i match your sister with...

kokichi ouma!

you probably saw this coming, haha... your sister is very reminiscent of kokichi, though. the two definitely have short tempers, though in kokichi’s case, it’s more understated since a lot of stuff actually goes his way ingame. at least, at first- jumping a bit later into your ask, a strong example of kokichi’s short temper as well as notes of him caring about the people around him come out in the ch4 trial. so, spoilers- i’ll put a * at the end. but, whenever his plans aren’t going how he wants them to, not only does he get the angriest we’ve seen him all game, but this is also partially because of what many speculate to be his guilt for manipulating gonta. he isn’t showing it as actual guilt, of course, since i’m not gonna write a whole kokichi essay here, but still. * tying it into your sister, trial four in v3 really strongly shows a lot of traits both her and him share. hating losing/being wrong, being a jerk on the outside but caring deep down, having a short temper, loving to get into debates/arguments, saying mean things but feeling guilt afterwards, i mean. your sister is kokichicore. i’m not gonna go into detail since it would just make the post redundant and even longer than it probably will be, but all of these traits align almost perfectly with him!

but oh no, anon, i’m not done yet. the only thing that i see as a slight difference between kokichi and her is that kokichi lies for both entertainment and for his own ulterior motives, typically for the best, even if it comes out malicious. i of course don’t know your sister, and don’t know her specific reasons for being a liar- she could lie for the same reasons that i believe kokichi to or not. however, the two of them do seem to share that sort of peppy attitude, while being almost-jokingly condescending to others. he brags a lot, especially about his talent(different than his height, but you know), and i personally see him as very perceptive- that thought mostly being from how he can tell when others are lying at the drop of a hat. i wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the only thing he can pick up on, since he’s sort of a master manipulator when he wants to be, and again while i don’t know your sister both of them can take advantage of other people’s little nuances.

secondly, i match your sister with...

kotoko utsugi!

she’s been here a lot lately, huh? forgive me using the same sprite as the last one, i jus... love it sm. anyways, it was only when i was halfway done writing this post that i moved kotoko up to second place haha. first off, i think that your sister and kotoko are definitely both short-tempered, heck, the wiki’s first describing word for her is hot-headed! she isn’t a big bragger, however the persona she puts on makes her have a lot of theatre-based aspects to her personality, like being more loud and excited, as well as adding extra pizzazz to a lot of her speech and movements. kotoko and your sister are both big liars, and while a lot of kotoko’s lies are defense mechanisms, there are also lots of things she does purely for her own enjoyment. i won’t talk about it in depth here, but her chapter three interactions with komaru... yeah. she also takes advantage of small things about other people, as while examples aren’t specifically pointed out, she was able to lie to the other warriors of hope about her intentions and mindset while she was in the group- this requires at least a basic understanding of how to trick, or take advantage of, other people.

surprisingly, it doesn’t end there? kotoko is definitely the type to get into lots of debates and arguments- sometimes she doesn’t see them through to the end or get really riled up, but my lord, she is very passionate about peelings. plus, i mean, she is a bit of a bully, but it doesn’t seem to be out of a defense mechanism, she seems mean to her friends(despite probably caring about them, actually- after all, they were probably her first actual friends) just for the sake of her own enjoyment. she struggles to properly show when she does care, and i think that that’s a big coping mechanism thing- again, i don’t personally know your sister, but that’s just something i think the two of them can share. anyways! this post is already over 1,000 words and i’m not even done with the last major matchup... so! a!

finally, i match your sister with...

hiyoko saionji!

okay, i’ll be a bit more concise with this one. but fun fact! i was originally gonna do hiyoko as the first choice?? but ultimately decided not to, will elaborate in the tags. however, while your sister isn’t directly linked to hiyoko in some ways, i think that the general personalities of them are similar. first, hiyoko hates being wrong- in fact, a large part of her is that she’ll refuse to take care of herself or be around others, since she doesn’t want to be perceived as stupid or wrong, all for not being able to tie her own kimono. while hiyoko is more of a crier than a rager, like your sister is, i think that that’s a strong parallel- plus, with hiyoko being, um, kind of a bully, she’s very good at finding people that are easy to take advantage of. that’s for lack of a better term, though, i’m not saying that your sister’s a toxic person asdjfjsjf!!!!

plus, hiyoko and your sister both brag a lot- while hiyoko’s is more passive and setting up a sense of superiority(about her traditionalism, economic status and talent), they both establish a sense of “i see myself as higher than the rest of you”. also, this is probably the longest point, but hiyoko does care for people like mikan whenever she picks on them- she typically doesn’t show it, and only does for fleeting moments, but her steadily growing kindness towards them is a big indicator of this. there are lots of times in the manga where hiyoko, despite being a bit gruff on the outside, does show that she cares for others, even if she’s not open enough to really say it genuinely and honestly.

your sister also reminds me a bit of miu iruma, and a little bit of junko enoshima! (er... as in, a nondespair junko with a similar personality. please don’t think i’m calling your sister the same as someone who’s caused as much destruction as junko has, haha.)

We often pick dogs based on looks — and experts say that perpetuates many breeds' pain.

We dote on dogs, refer to them as our best mates and sometimes even let them share our beds.

So why, when it comes to certain breeds, do we make decisions that perpetuate their suffering?

"It's one of those ironies," says Mia Cobb, research fellow at the University of Melbourne's Animal Welfare Science Centre.

"We love our dogs and we want them to live with us for as long as possible and, you would assume, living the most healthy and happy life possible.

"And yet, at the same time, we've been selecting them for features in how they look that is doing the exact opposite."

The French bulldog has been bred to look a particular way, and faces significant health problems as a result.

Dr Cobb says many dogs live with pain as a result of their breeding, something that has been normalised among owners and breeders, and is too readily ignored.

"We need to acknowledge that it's gone too far," she says.

'Narcissistic' dog breeding

Alexandra Horowitz, an American cognitive scientist and author of Our Dogs, Ourselves, agrees we can do better by dogs.

Alexandra Horowitz says dogs enjoy a privileged place compared to other home animals, but we could still treat them better.

To start, she suggests we drop our narcissism.

Some breeds, like bulldogs, Pekingese and pugs, have been bred to more closely resemble a human being, she says.

"I think there's a good reason to believe that one of the things we like about a shorter-nosed dog is that they more resemble a human primate face," Dr Horowitz tells RN's Life Matters.

"These dogs often have eyes that are a little more in the front of the face, just like ours, instead of more lateral, like a wolf, which has eyes a little bit to the sides of its face.

"So essentially we are breeding dogs to look a little bit more like ourselves."

Breeding for these facial features can also lead to significant health problems for the dog, Dr Horowitz says.

Some dogs, she says, need surgery just so they can breathe properly, others need dental work or help with skin conditions that come with their "extra folds".

She cites the bulldog as an example of a suffering breed.

"Bulldogs of 150 years ago looked like perfectly reasonable dogs, somewhat familiar as a bulldog, and then you fast-forward to today and it looks like that dog has been in a horrible car collision," Dr Horowitz says.

"Their face is all smashed up. Their nose is quite short. Their jaws are jutting forward. Their eyes are bulging. Their legs are very widely splayed.

"Their eyes get ulcerated. They can't even be birthed naturally. [They've] been bred to have a large head relative to their bodies, so they mostly can't go out the birth canal. They have to be delivered by caesarean."

Dr Cobb says pug breeding is another "really good illustration of the extremity of what we've done".

This pug with severely flattened nose is likely to have significant trouble breathing.

"You can search 'snoring pug' on YouTube and you'll find a million videos of people saying, 'It's so cute, my pug sleeps sitting up'," she says.

"And it's actually because the dog can't breathe lying down.

"The snoring or weird ways they might eat or drink that we think is a cute idiosyncrasy is actually the dog struggling to do basic things.

"Our perception is really mismatched with the reality for the dog."

Why do we do it?

Dr Cobb says both ignorance and wilful ignorance perpetuate these problems in dog breeding.

She says we've developed a "normative belief system" in which we believe certain traits and conditions are "just normal for the breed".

"People are so good at justifying our behaviours, particularly when there's new information that makes us feel uncomfortable," Dr Cobb says.

She says for animal experts like her, the task of shifting attitudes is significant.

"We know that what we've been doing isn't great for dogs and we understand that people will go to extreme lengths to continue the practices," Dr Cobb says.

The challenge is to encourage a "cultural change to select for healthier, happier dogs".

"We really need to step back and try and look at what we're perpetuating," Dr Cobb says.

Tips for choosing a dog

Dr Cobb recommends animal rescue groups, shelters and pounds as good sources of dogs alternative to breeders.

And for people looking to buy from breeders, she recommends avoiding any "extreme body type".

Dr Cobb, pictured with her dog Rudy, wants to see a cultural change in dog-breeding.

"Particularly the flat-faced breeds, because we know that they are having a really tough time, and they struggle to breathe," Dr Cobb says.

"The little teeny-tiny tea-cup breeds are also really sick and the really big giants also have a lot of health issues.

"Things like German shepherds that have been selected for a sloping back, we now see dogs with really poor hips [and] that can barely walk.

"Those things will have consequences for their health and also their behaviour of the dog because we know that looks and behaviour are linked."

Dr Cobb advises meeting a puppy's parents where possible, and learning about where the dog has been raised and socialised, "so that you're not unwittingly supporting a puppy farm".

And no matter where you get your dog from, Dr Cobb wants you to remember that looks aren't everything.

"For the dog that you live with, what's really important is its personality," she says.

"Things like its activity level, how much grooming it's going to require — they're the things that are going to impact on how much you enjoy spending time with your dog.

"What it looks like shouldn't really factor into it."

4. CHARISMA

A born performer! He never fails to give me goosebumps!! Chan is just mesmerizing when performing, he’s like a magnet.. It’s hard to lose sight of him on stage because he stands out so much! He’s an expert with facial expressions and consistently makes sure to fully immerse himself into the performance; it’s his expression of self which makes him shine so brightly on stage.

PERSONAL TRAITS (why you should stan him as a PERSON:

1. PERFECTIONIST

A visionary and true tireless idealist. For most people, being a perfectionist isn’t an ideal trait, yet I still find myself respecting Chan for being one. He’s critical when it comes to creating the perfect performance and works really hard to achieve results which reaches his (high) standards. I think that’s pretty admirable - the fact that he puts his blood, sweat and tears to put on not only a good show, but one that exceeds standards for our sake, his own sake and the rest of TOO’s sake.

2. PASSION

I think that the thing that I adore about him the most is his passion. As I mentioned before, he absolutely loves dancing. It’s refreshing to visibly see an idol enjoy themselves on stage. Chan doesn’t just perform, he lives. When he’s performing, he loses himself in the thing that he loves doing the most and relishes the moment like there’s no tomorrow.

3. DETERMINATION

Even if Chan isn’t the official leader of TOO, his leadership qualities are quite prominent. He’s determined to reach his goals and get through challenges no matter what. Taking initiative, he leads the group in dance and assists others when they are struggling. This can be seen by observing World Klass clips of the boys practicing All You Need Is Love - when Chan noticed that Chihoon was having difficulty with the choreography he called him over and helped him with it. Another example is when they ranked last place in Road to Kingdom and Chan, motivated to do better and prove TOO’s capability of rising up the ranks, thoughtfully assisted in planning their performance and concept and rigorously practiced while leading the others.

4. CREATIVITY

Idea bank! As an artist myself, I marvel at Chan’s creativity. The concepts and choreographies that he comes up with are astounding and prove to have super effective results! He actually came up with the Rising Sun concept in TOO’s Road to King performance. Because they watched the sun set from the rooftop, Chan was inspired to make their concept about them being rookies and rising in the music industry like the sun!! Say it with me: Chan swollen brain, Chan inflamed brain, chAN GINORMOUS BRAIN!!!

Overall, Chan, despite his appearance of being intimidating, is actually a real sweet guy that smiles and laughs easily. He’s a soft boi (especially for Chihoon) and likes to initiate skin ship. Members actually stated that Chan likes to act cute and even refers to himself as ‘Chanhyukie’!! So please don’t be fooled by his cool guy demeanor, he’s a squish if you take a closer look..!

So honestly, I've always been a Spidey fan but ever since I found your tumblr, my opinion on him has changed. I like the fact that Peter is sweet funny but can easily get mad . I love violent Peter in the way that it shows a big part of him that isn't heroic. His short temper is honestly one of my new favorite things of him. My friends don't actually believe me when I tell them this. Do you think you can make post showing of some or all the moments SM has lost his temper or has been violent?

First off, I’m glad you enjoy my tumblr! Thank you for reading my posts. Second off, for me that’s it, exactly. I like that Peter has this kind duality to him – to the people he loves, he’s an incredibly loving, kind, devoted person, and his sense of humor can be very disarming in a variety of situations, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a darker side to him, and his rage is one of my favorite sides to him. I can definitely provide some examples, but like, this is representative of a huge swathe of comics: traditionally he very much does have a short temper and an angry side, so if you go back before the last couple of years, and especially before Brand New Day, you’ll find plenty of examples of this.

First and foremost, I’m going to recommend one of my favorite Amazing Spider-Man arcs, Back in Black (Amazing Spider-Man #539–543) which is basically nonstop this. Following Peter’s public unmasking and the wake of Civil War, the Kingpin has Mary Jane and May targeted; May is shot and ends up in a coma. Peter reacts violently.

“To do what I do best when I really put my mind to it, MJ. I’m going to hurt someone.” Move over, Wolverine. (Amazing Spider-Man #539)

“I break his hand. It snaps like dry wood. At another time I would’ve taken comfort in the thought that this hand would no longer be able to sell a gun to anybody, or pull a trigger. And maybe I will… later.” The lack of regret here is very notable. People love to use guilt as one of Peter’s biggest traits, without really considering what he feels guilty over. Here his reaction to breaking the hand of a man who was involved, however tangentially, in the harm of his family is that he’ll later feel comfort over it, not guilt. (ASM #539)

“He drops the gun as I break his arm”/”Pick it up. You’ve still got one good arm. Go ahead. (…) I said pick it up!” (ASM #540) It should be noted there’s heavy implication Peter would have killed this man, who fired the gun that injured Aunt May, if he hadn’t been interrupted. The story is what prevents Spider-Man from crossing the intentional kill line, not Peter’s actual morals. In case anyone tries to argue to the contrary, it’s a common error in Spider-Man fandom to attribute every instance where Peter wears the black suit to the Venom symbiote and its influence; in fact, most of the appearances where Peter Parker appears in the black Spider-Man suit have nothing to do with Venom. There’s a cloth version of the black suit, which is what Peter is wearing here.

JMS, who wrote this stretch of Spider-Man, loved a good predator-prey metaphor, with Peter explicitly portrayed as the ultimate predator. (ASM #541)

“I turn your entire respiratory system into one big solid chunk of useless tissue and webbing. It takes three seconds.” (ASM #542) This Peter vs Kingpin fight is one of my very favorite Spider-Man fights because Peter’s so deadly effective in it. He’s not worried about anything. He’s just fighting, and Peter just fighting is canonically enough to take out cosmic threats like Firelord. Kingpin is, ultimately, when Peter is unleashed from everything else, no match for him, which Peter demonstrates here. A friend on twitter pointed out recently that there’s something particularly brutal and disturbing about the above panel where Peter lifts Kingpin up by his skin as if it was his shirt, and I agree. The whole thing is a very effective piece of storytelling when it comes to Peter’s rage. The biggest thing for Peter’s violent side for me is that, ultimately, it is rooted in love and protection. His berserk button is either events or recollections of events where the people he loves are hurt. Here, May has been hurt, maybe killed. Mary Jane has been threatened and targeted. All the rules are gone now.

My other favorite thing is one very particular move Peter does when he’s in the depths of his rage. We’re most of us familiar with the fact that Peter can stick to things, like walls, which is a big part of how Spider-Man moves. But when Peter is really angry, he has a thing he does where he sticks his fingers to someone’s face and then pulls their skin off:

It’s ugly. It’s brutal. It’s some damn good storytelling. And while it’s less direct than these two examples against Norman Osborn and Sasha Kravinoff respectively, Peter also once played the psychological game and bet a child killer would rip the webbing – along with his own skin – off, rather than wait for it dissolve on its own:

More than angry or violent, I should note, Peter can be extremely brutal. But more examples of his violent side under the cut.

Back in Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1, Peter was referred to as the world’s most amazing fighting machine.

As famous as The Night Gwen Stacy Died is as a story, I find it’s impact often underplayed by a lot of fans. In fact, Peter was very much intent on killing on Norman Osborn at one point within the story, and though ultimately he doesn’t go down that path, Gwen’s death is clearly something that haunts and triggers him in the future. When he thinks Felicia is being threatened on a bridge in Spider-Man/Black Cat: Evil That Men Do #6, for example, he violently reacts:

Look, this is really just a scant handful of examples – if you comb through the body of Spider-Man canon, there are a lot more. Up until extremely recently, Peter has never been portrayed as someone who doesn’t have a temper, and a violent one that he works to keep in check but nonetheless occasionally slips. Anything else is a total erasure of decades worth of canon, and whether or not an individual agrees with this portrayal doesn’t erase the fact that it very much was the portrayal for years. And personally I think Peter is a much richer character for this violent side, and the recent erasure of it in both comics and the MCU, and for the past decade or so in fandom, is very disappointing to me. He’s a better character when he’s allowed to be multilayered, and traditionally he is. One thing to remember is that Peter walks around in his entire adult life with the strength of someone who can put his hand easily through unbreakable glass or concrete, and he’s not immune to having his buttons pushed. From a characterization standpoint, it’s not shocking that this is the kind of reaction he displays when he is pushed too far.

What if in Majisuka Gakuen 3, Prison Hope is just a dumping ground for out-of-control government clones of the MG1-5 cast?

The story begins the way it ends – in a dreary ramshackle pub sandwiched between two concrete buildings.

Two people sit on opposite sides of the tattered booth couches, a middle aged man with peppered hair in a grey suit, and a young woman with in bob haircut and a pair of wiry spectacles. The man appears friendly, fingers strumming on the splintered wooden tables, sipping on piss-poor beer in a questionably murky mug, while the woman eyes the stack of papers in front of her dubiously.

“That’s it?” she asks, skimming through the sheet in front of her, “You’ll give me thirty million yen for some skin and blood samples?”

“That’s all there is to it Maeda-san,” the man replies smoothly, “Just sign the contract and we’ll have a team come to collect the samples at your convenience, and the money will be deposited in your account on that very day.”

Now Maeda Atsuko may be a former yankee-delinquent, and she might not have been the most studious student in her schooling career, but she definitely isn’t stupid. There has got to be more to this than what they’re telling her, and that’s not even counting what they could possibly be planning to do with her DNA samples. News articles about scientific research looking at what caused all of the random abilities that started popping up in people about thirty or so years ago flash through her mind. Abilities like Black’s super speed, Gekikara’s endurance and Torigoya’s psychic hypnosis.

Atsuko never thought she had an ability, because in her mind, super strength has always been associated with lifting trucks and buildings, and she definitely cannot do that. Then that news article came out about some big scandal where a medical company was found to be experimenting on people with abilities, trying to replicate them. In particular the story was focused on a girl who had augmented strength, nothing flashy like the movies and TV shows, just strong enough to have a weird discrepancy between her muscle-mass and the amount of power she could exert. The realisation hits Atsuko like a train – a girl her size probably shouldn’t be able to hit as hard, or get up after taking so many hits like she does. She cuts back on the cage fighting, and the bodyguard jobs after that. No need to be flashing ‘I’m a powered person!’ sign with neon lights over her head. Apparently that didn’t work out too well because there’s a supposed government agent sitting across from her trying to get her DNA samples.

“And what exactly are you going to do with the samples?”

“I’m afraid that’s classified Maeda-san. You needn’t worry yourself over trivialities like that. Rest assured that whatever happens won’t be your responsibility at all.”

Long story short, there isn’t a single good thing that can come from giving this shady (potentially non-government, because who is this cheap-beer-drinking guy think he’s fooling?) organisation her DNA.

But it’s not like she has much of a choice.

As it turns out, being arrested and charged for assault doesn’t do much for job prospects. Particularly when there’s been a colourful history of violence and delinquency before that. So no matter how hard she studied, Atsuko never quite managed to land that job as a nurse. Casual retail work, and odd cash-in-hand jobs barely manage to keep her afloat all these years, but now…a hand subconsciously ghosts down to her stomach…she’s not feeding one anymore.

The choice isn’t difficult to make.

a. immediate termination (not recommended, last resort only)

b. behavioural observation and adjustment (recommended, more funding required)

c. obedience training* see service dog manual for more details (recommendation pending)

d. memory implantation (theoretical only, much more funding required)

Time Stamp Zero Zero Zero Five Hours. Subject MA#071091 has escaped facility.

“This program is an abomination! Human cloning is illegal!”

Time Stamp Zero Zero Thirty-Nine Hours. Subject MA#071091 retrieved with mild damage. Losses include: five injured personnel, and two casualties.

“Senator think of what we can do with a project like this! We could remove all personnel from the field, drop war casualties to zero. These girls are good-for-nothing delinquents, but they’ve shown they could do one thing: fight. So why not use that for the good of the country?”

Time Stamp Fifteen Twenty-Six. Petition to the senate is a success. Funding for project expansion acquired.

“There’s an eccentric millionaire willing to work with us. She owns a private prison on some remote mountain. It’d be the perfect place for that behavioural observation and adjustment facility we’ve been discussing.”

Time Stamp Seventeen Thirty-Three Hours. Memory Alteration Project is a success.

“We finally got our hands on those samples from that warehouse massacre a few years back. Begin working on all viable subjects.”

Time Stamp Zero Five Hundred Hours. Subject MA#071091 has escaped Prison Facility.

“Try adding sunshine and rainbows. Happy thoughts. Make it happy to be here.”

Time Stamp Ten Zero Fifty-Seven Hours. Subject MA#071091 retrieved with major damage. Losses include three injured personnel, and zero casualties.

“Get rid of the guns, we’ve been allocated a portion of the budget for Tasers. The clones are expensive, don’t damage them!”

Time Stamp Sixteen Thirty Hours. Non-fatal toxin-releasing braces are a success. Implementing security device on all subjects.

“According to the psychologists’ report the bracelets appear to be having a negative effect on the subjects’ overall morale.”

Time Stamp Thirteen Eighteen. Multiple riots in the last three days. Damages still to be calculated.

“It’s chaos out there sir. We had to activate nearly two dozen bracelets to stop them from killing each other. They just get violent when we throw them together for too long.”

Time Stamp Thirteen Forty-Two. Subject MA#071091 missing from head count. Last accounted for before the riots started.

“If they like fighting so much, give them an enemy to focus on.”

Time Stamp Twenty Hundred Hours. Subject MA#071091 retrieved with poison damage by subjects SM#110386, KY#150791, and OY#171088. Cannibal Initiative is a success.

“I want a tracker put on this one and someone get the psychologists in here now! It’s the tenth riot this week!”

Time Stamp Eleven Twenty-One. Teamwork Initiative implemented. All subjects divided into multiple teams to encourage cooperation and reduce rioting. Observations pending.

“Sir it’s that Maeda clone—

“—if you tell me it’s escaped again, so help me…”

Subject MJ#080397 Alias: Nobunaga | Parent DNA: Matsui Jurina [Center] |

Verdict: Great Success* | Sentience: Self-Aware | Status: Locked-down, constant visual monitoring required, termination pending|

Subject MJ#080397 was originally the most successful cloning experiment completed to date. The fighting prowess had been greatly improved compared to the original, and attitude adjustments were able to successfully stamp out all of the unwanted aspects of the original’s personality, such as arrogance and impatience. However, as time went by and re-evaluations have been completed, it’s revealed that the subject retains the original’s stubbornness and noble streak, and will not be cowed into compliance. The subject is supremely dangerous and must be kept separate from the general population to prevent it from organising the rest of the clones into a resistance.

The Mind-Wipe protocol has been deemed a failure, as the subject continues to be non-compliant even when confused and disorientated from the lack of memories, which exponentially quickens in its recall after each mind-wipe.

*Note: Great Success was the initial verdict after the subject proved to be superior to original in combat, however the status was revoked after the subject’s repeated disobedience and failure to comply with orders.

Subject KY#110296, self-named Peace, is one of the more successful clones created in the project. The original’s fighting prowess has been replicated successfully, reports do indicate that it may even be slightly improved, barring the preference for trickery, which seems to have been a trait nurtured by the original’s environment and upbringing. After several failures, it was discovered that the clone responds positively to parental encouragement. After negotiating with the contractor, several memories were implanted into Peace to create the illusion that she is the daughter of the prison warden. The results were an extreme success with exponential improvement in emotional, mental and physical states.

Notes: Due to the subject’s psychological requirements, it needs to be kept partially aware under false pretenses of being the prison warden’s daughter. If the truth, or simply the falsehood of being the prison warden’s daughter is revealed, it may have detrimental affects on the clone’s effectiveness.

However, the special ability that the original possesses has not been able to be successfully replicated in any clone. Researchers speculate that Yoga’s so-called distraction ability was nothing more than exaggerated tales.

The subject is generally compliant and well behaved, however it has been noted to be asking certain questions in recent weeks. Close monitoring must be kept upon the subject to ensure that it does not become aware.

Notes: The subject has developed a sadistic streak, monitor to ensure that it does not become a liability.

With the failure of Subject MA#71091 attributed to mostly too much willpower inherited from the original (Maeda), researches have decided to create a clone using the spliced DNA of Maeda and a more apathetic parent. This resulted in the creation of Subject SHMA#300394.

Subject SHMA#300394 must be kept under the Mind-Wipe protocol at all times. While replicating Salt’s fighting prowess is still a work in progress, the subject has been deemed a considerable success, and is the most powerful clone created to date. The subject is however, not deemed a complete success, as it is wilful, and has developed all of Maeda’s passion, and none of Salt’s apathy, and thus far had been kept sedated, or mind-wiped in order to be kept pliant.

*Note: Ensure that subject remains UNAWARE. Subject is impossible to control when approaching any status beyond ‘unaware’.

Subject KR#120295 or ‘Nanashi’ is a complete failure in every way, barring physical health. Replication of the original’s fighting prowess and super strength ability could not be achieved. It’s been deduced that the parent’s fighting capability was likely due to environmental factors, such as trauma in her life that is thus far mostly unknown. Trial and error of introducing trauma to the subject early in its life cycle resulted in a clone that is too anxious and frail to be of any use in combat.
