Byler tarot reading lmfaoooooo
ok before i tell yall what the cards said, i gotta say
1) i technically did 3 readings because my gut was telling me the first two readings were a lil off (and I ALWAYS aim for the most precise answer), but istg with each reading i got the exact same cards (for the most part). Like i reshuffled them before I began and i get my cards by shuffling them until they turn over, so the fact that 90% of these cards were revealed THREE times is insane.
2) this is just for fun don't take this seriously at all!
3) i will not be explaining what each card means. I'm way to lazy to do that

After El breaks up with Mike, he kinda has an "oh shit maybe I was never in love with El" moment and like things about his sexuality start clicking a lil bit more. This isn't saying what his sexuality is, it's just saying he's finding out he's not straight. He's really happy that he no longer has to deal with his toxic ass relationship with El anymore and that him and Will are a team again. He can breathe a lil.

That is until he discovers Will lied ab the painting. He's gonna be really really angry and upset that Will said it was from El-- he feels like this was a huge betrayal because Will's never lied to him before. He and Will will get into a fight over the painting, and it's not gonna be pretty. Like this fight will be the messiest and ugliest fight within the series, and will borderline breakup their friendship-- that's how fucking bad its gonna be.

Mike feels like he just lost his bestest friend in the whole wide world and now feels completely and utterly alone.
My first initial reaction when seeing the hermit reversed was "oh Vecna's gonna be all over his ass", but I'm not certain about that at all. Like this is a reading only about byler and how its gonna play out-- not about how Mike's gonna be dealing with Vecna.
(side note-- idk why this is pretty much only from Mike's pov. I was honestly thinking about them both equally, so maybe this plays out from his pov in st5)

El and Mike are gonna have a heart-to-heart! El's gonna help him come to his senses and get him out of this funky ass headspace he's in. He's gonna open up about the fight and why it hurt him so much finding out Will lied. She's gonna remind him that even though he had this big ass fight with Will, Will is still his bestest friend and still needs Mike.

Idk if its gonna happen because of Mike and El's heart-to-heart or if it's gonna be Will that tells him himself, but one way or another Mike is going to find out that Will's in love with him. Suddenly the clouds part and everything clicks for Mike: he's realizes he's in love with Will too. They're gonna reconcile and finally get together, regardless of what anyone else thinks.
The End.
I can not fucking believe that my cards told me THREE times this is what's happening. And like the fact the reading starts with El gaining independence and the fucking HIEROPHANT REVERSED is the final card. plssssssss byler's so canon it's ridiculous asdhsdfl

Byler and possible ladder symbolism?
I’ve noticed twice before ladder looking/related things by mike and will in s4 and each time it’s when they have a heart to heart. then I saw this photo from this post by @will80sbyers and I had that ‘something something twice is a coincidence three times is a pattern something something’ realization. looky here:
This is above them on the wall in Jonathan’s room during their first heart to heart of the season. to me it looks almost like a single step ladder, but also mixed with a swing set. it sounds totally random and out there but the other confusing looking ladder-ish thing I found also slightly reminded people who interacted with the post I found it on (can’t remember which) of a swing set as well! here it is:
To me it looks like monkey bars, or a ladder or scaffolding. it doesn’t really matter whether it actually is a ladder or not, it resembles one and has bars you could climb up so I think that qualifies as a continuation in the pattern. and as you can see it is behind them during the desert heart to heart where will says “I think it’s just scary to open up like that, to say how you really feel. especially to people you care about the most, because… what if they don’t like the truth?” and mike begins to nod and looks like he’s about to respond before they’re interrupted.
The last ladder (or rather the first) that I found is the chutes and ladders game in the cabin while mike and will have their last heart to heart of the season. this is the clearest ladder reference of the three since it literally uses the word and shows actual ladders in the game. and this is the talk where mike finally reaches out to will and holds his shoulder - until they are interrupted yet again.
I think ladders also have a bunch of religious symbolism so if anybody wants to dig into that feel free! I am extremely uneducated religion wise so I don’t understand a thing lol but I know there’s a bunch of parallels with the characters so maybe the ladder does too!
What I found on ladder symbolism was a lot about ascension and growth, journeys and self acceptance or undertaking but this quote stood out to me: “According to Josepk Panek, since the ladder has no moving parts, it symbolizes ascension by way of personal desire and effort. “The Ladder also reminds us that reaching the highest realms of consciousness is not a short, swift journey” (The Metaphor of Ladders - Ann Hart Marquis)
Each time a ladder shows up mike is having a deep conversation with will in which he seems to question himself or move up the ladder a bit. and it’s out of his own personal desire (which could mean his desire for will, desire to accept himself, maybe both?) and effort meaning he is having to do things (break up with el?) and confront things (his feelings? will? el?) to get to these new levels of whatever it is he’s growing towards. it also had possibly taken mike up until the end of s3 to become “conscious” of his feelings and sexuality, and then all of s4 to process it so it has definitely not been a short swift journey lmao.
The first ladder having a single step could mean that talk was his first step in accepting himself or his feelings for will, or something along those lines. and it resembling a swing set is also a callback to them becoming friends which is very emotionally brought to light in s2 shed scene. we are also reminded of mikes s1 and 2 determination to help/save/find will when will says “that was you guys who saved me, that was you guys,” which is what prompted mike to apologize and become best friends again right after. (seems like the whole scene in Jonathan’s room is one big reminder to the audience—and mike himself—of their first meeting and how they used to be! as if it’s first step in getting will back after feeling like he’d lost him)
The ladder in the desert is very glaring once you notice it, directly behind them and sticking out almost like it’s floating in the air. this one looks much more like a ladder than the first one, we’re making progress. mike almost responds to will possibly about to open up to him in response to his pretty queer coded statement.
The last one in the cabin is so obvious, it’s right next to will and again stands out once you see it. I think the fact it’s chutes and ladders is also saying something, in the game you go up ladders to get closer to winning but if you land on a chute you go back down. you regress. this scene is after the surfer boy pizza monologue where mike essentially reversed his development but also put stress on both of his relationships even though byler leaves off on an optimistic note. he still opened a whole new can of worms with that monologue that is going to blow up in all of their faces next season I think. he reached out to will and they’re closer than they’ve been in a long time, since s2. he’s made lost of progress but created new obstacles. also maybe worth mentioning that in the game (based on my personal memory playing it) once you get to the end or the finish space you win, but right by it theres a chute so you could be right there, just about to win and then suddenly land on the chute and it takes you back. this seems to reflect mike this season pretty well, but also might be a hint that we were/are very close to byler happening
(I haven't watched the show in a while so this small collection of ladders was solely put together through other people bringing up each one separately, so there may be even more that we missed.)
It's also interesting simply the association of playground structures with byler isn’t it? ladders/monkey bars, swings, slides/shutes… if I remember correctly there’s also play ground stuff in front of the bingham house when the cali crew goes there but Im not sure what that all means atm.

my friend just sent me a twitter post and i would like to come here and express my hate. It's precisely about that Byler fanart that the Stranger Things News page posted. (I'll translate the tweet for you because it's Brazilian).
"They take a couple that won't even be canon, who live on crumbs instead of taking Robin who is canonicall lesbian and wants a woman"
What pisses me off the most about all this is that this shit had 5k likes. Do you understand why byler NEEDS to be Canon? Because I can't stand to see these people mocking about shipp on twitter anymore. They need to be Canon because I want to see all these people drooling with hate when it happens.
