I dont understand why people hate Will

"he cries too much"

so you hate him bc he isn't afraid to show emotions? do you want him to display toxic masculinity or something? why are you making it seem bad to be emotional? aren't you the same people that complain about Mike struggling with not expressing how he feels but then get mad when Will does? huh?

he is a gay boy in the 80s dealing with his feelings for his bestfriend that he thinks he has no chance with. he is going to cry its a normal emotion and reaction. its hard being queer even now, imagine how hard it was then. he feels like a mistake, he's going to cry thats to be expected. its actually healthy that he's crying and not holding it in. why is him crying a few times make you hate him? are you sure you're not just homophobic?

"he doesn't do anything"

-hes the reason for all of this, he was the one taken and the first season revolves around looking for him

-they never would have found or met El if it wasn't for Will

-he was again the main focus in s2, the mindflayer being in him.

-he wasn't as big of a role in s3 but he was still important. he could still feel things and helped the group.

-even if you dont want to admit it, Will was important for building of Mikes "problems" (iykyk)

-in s4 he helped find El

-he made Mike feel needed, loved, reassured, understood etc

-he is literally the only reason mileven is still together at this very moment bc of his own feelings for Mike

-he can still feel Vecna meaning he's going to be important for s5 too

and before anyone says "his fans ruined his character for me" just stop, fans can't ruin a character literally ignore or block them and just watch the show. thats a dumb excuse. fans have no connection to the show so how are fans ruining his character when they aren't on the show?

if you hate him bc hes getting in the way of your ship just say that. just say you're homophobic or whatever. Will is made to be a likable character so if you hate him thats saying a lot about you. he doesn't have to be your favorite but hating him? there's actual characters that have done things worth hating them for but instead you hate one of the only canonically queer characters in the show for "crying too much" 🙄. I hate to be the one to tell you this but other characters have cried more than he has. I especially don't want to see gate from milevens bc incase yall forgot, he's the reason your ship is still together. you should be loving and praising him.

Will is laying in Mike's lap as they talk and joke around. Mike strokes Will's hair softly, making Will sleepy. Will starts to whisper-sing a song and Mike thinks it's the most adorable thing ever. Will slowly drifts off to sleep, and even though Mike's legs feel numb now, he lets Will sleep for as long as he wants.
