Hi! Saw you jumped on the tim hate train, welcome to the club! Aplarently you're Damian fan, which is good bc hes also one of the characters who's hit by tim's..woobification? Victimization(???) while simultaneously being the bestest, most competent batfam member. You Damian fans honestly have my respect for the pure amount of shit Damian gets because of tim.

hi lmao. Thanks xD. I usually try to keep all my negativity off of the internet, but last night I was going the anti Tim drake tag bc my frustration was flaring up. At first i was collecting posts by liking them instead of rb, then I was replying, and then at some point... “Fuck it. I want this on my blog.”

(This is gonna be a ramble btw, I don’t care abt making a good post rn.)

I used to be fine with Tim! I think the whole thing was a lot less prominent in the dpxdc fandom bc DANNY was the fan favorite/community elected woobie, but then I kinda moved out and... well. It still took awhile for this issue to seep in bc those Tim fans (you know the ones) are certainly a minority, but I just don’t think you can be a Damian fan for longer than a few months without getting frustrated.

Nowadays I refuse to read anything tagged with any variation of “Tim Drake angst” that features the batfam. Timkon fics are usually just fine though.

Actually— recently? Shit’s been bothering me so bad that I don’t wanna risk reading fics that have Tim in the first relationship tag at all. He’s gotta at most be in the second one. Ship fics are again an exception, but I don’t tend to seek out ship fics much anyway.

But, like I said, I usually keep it to myself. Every time i catch myself venting in the tags I either screenshot the tags and delete, or I delete and retype them. I put them into a private notes document. I also journal in there a lot instead of posting it.

That document is pretty long.

I do wanna say that there’s nothing wrong with what tim fans are doing. It is fun to woobify your fave. It’s fun to prop them up and tear others down and make everything about your blorbo and it is harmless. I do it too (usually in my daydreams). It’s a fantasy, and that’s what fanfiction is for. People who act like it’s “problematic” are wrong. That doesn’t mean it’s not annoying. Because it is. It’s annoying as all fuck.

Also wanna mention that I once read a damian fic that like... started off with some delicious whump, but then it turned into a whole Damian pity party and it guilt tripped all his friends and family. Damian IS my blorbo and I couldn’t read that. I didn’t even know who Maps was at the time but it seemed so bizarre to throw her under the bus. Anyway I feel like that’s what a quite large portion of Tim fic is like except a bit less extreme.

I used to tell myself that “ohhh it’s just a rivalry. I’m sure Tim fans get the same shit in reverse all the time” but I literally NEVER see it in the other direction and spend the most of my time in Damian circles. The only time I see tim hate from damian fans is frustration at those particular fans in response to it or in response to favoritism of authors.

I mean i saw a good chunk of it last night, but what else can I expect from the anti tim drake tag?

It’s actually funny how most of the stuff in anti tags is polarized hate shitting on the character with a lot of bad takes, but in tims anti tag it was almost exclusively frustration from Damian and Jason fans, and usually pretty mild takes. Also people calling Tim boring.

Ngl, Idk much about Jason. I’m familiar with his fanon, but the only comic i’ve read that featured him in a major way was Gotham War. I don’t know him well, and I don’t have too much interest in him. However, I hate “Jason falls over in guilt and kisses Tim’s fingers begging for forgiveness” type posts in solidarity. It’s yucky.

Anyway, I didn’t even mean to get on this anti tim train you speak of, It just sorta leaked out of my vent doc. Don’t expect me to keep posting about it.

but also... don’t not expect it. It might happen.

Even so, my dms are absolutely open for Timothy Drake related frustration! I’m pretty tired of being nice to him.

3. What fandom's do you write for?

Almost all of my fics are for Star Wars, but I do have four that are in the Attack on Titan fandom! (Still gotta watch the end of the show, rip)

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

We're Not Needed Here - 709 kudos (oh crack fic, my beloved <3)

Her Step Forward - 155 kudos (this is my first published fic on AO3, and I love it, even if I'd rewrite it differently now, haha)

(Galactic) History in the Making - 125 kudos (this is an Obitine proposal fic! Qui-Gon meddles too, and it makes me happy)

Though Darkness May Be Our Companion, I Will Watch Over You - 121 kudos (this is a Merrical fic that I wrote after I either finished playing or watching a gameplay of Jedi: Fallen Order. I love those babies :') )

Sparring with Buir - 110 kudos (Korkie and Obi-Wan spar after reuniting on Mandalore.)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I do! I like to interact with everyone who reads my stories. I like building community!!

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Oooooh, that's a hard one. I don't write super angsty endings, bc everyone deserves a happy ending, dangit, but the one fic that does foot the bill is Ghost Star, Are You Very Far? This is a fic centered around Kata Akuna and her love for stories. Sounds cute, yeah, but BROOOO there's some angst in there, I promise.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

The happiest ending? That's a hard one as well. The one I love the most is Tequila. Very cracky, and very fun to write.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

No, not really (and that's not an invitation to start, lol)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

No, I don't write literary pornography. It's all kinds of damaging to your brain (see increased anxiety and depression rates) as well as the rest of the body (see erectile dysfunction). Click here if you want to see more of my reasons.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

No, I don't. My brain honestly has such a hard time making characters from different universes meet like that. They stay separate in my head XD

Kinda?? My brother helps me out and writes some things in my fics sometimes, but I've never done an intentional co-authored fic before.

Anidala, hands down. I love them so much :')

I doubt that all my WIPs will get finished, does that count? XD

In all seriousness, my very first WIP - that's still unpublished - is sitting in my docs folder, just begging me to write more, but I feel like I'm at an impasse. I don't know where to go from where I stopped, haha.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Ummmmm, my ability to keep characters in character when I write crack??? Idk, dude, I just put stuff on a page and people like it enough XD

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I definitely don't describe things as well as I want to. I often feel like I'm jumping from point to point in my writing without connecting it on paper. It all connects in my head, but it comes out clunky on paper.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Would that I could :') I'd LOVE to become fluent in German or Spanish one day and write a fic!

Star Wars!!

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Oh, dang, that's hard XD Ask me to pick a favorite child, why don't you? :P For the sake of finishing this, I choose Tequila again, lol. I love it so much XD

What is his fate after the war ended? Will he and Davenport met? Will he meet other engines (canon character) from the franchise or he just like exist in same universe as they are without meetings each other?

aw thank you very much!! So happy to see he's got some admirers! With each passing day the Schatzi fanclub grows larger XD

All awesome questions! His fate is murky. I am still in the research and development phase of his story. I have thought a lot about what his life would be like after the war and haven't fully decided what path I wish to take yet. Whatever happens it's likely it won't be all sunshine and roses. Here comes my nerd brain:

After the Treaty of Versailles, Germany had to surrender all military technology to the allies. This included airplanes, trains, ships, and weaponry. A lot of it was either scrapped, used as target practice, or integrated into allied armies for training purposes. Many Brigadeloks survive to this day and found second chances on logging railways after the war. Whatever happens to our lad, he is still going to go through a lot of hardship. All of his friends and family finally get to go home and live out their days in peace while he, most likely, would become a prisoner of war even after the war itself is long over with. Maybe his comrades find a way to save him and bring him back to Germany or take him somewhere else. Either way everyone he knew and loved will be separated from him for a long time, maybe even forever. I don't have the heart to put him through too much pain but I do love me some angst!

Schatzi will never meet Davenport in canon but I definitely want to make some little one off interactions between them for fun. They are very different in personality and build which could cause a lot of drama not to mention the whole enemies in war thing. As for canon Thomas characters! I am not sure! I sorta would like to keep it a separate story that only exists in the same "universe" but it's fun thinking about how the Skarloey engines in particular would react to him. He's so much bigger and different than them it would be like worlds colliding. I think Sir Handel in particular would absolutely despise him.

alright, this is excluding an approximately 470k-word series i orphaned years ago - 2,453,282

3. What fandoms do you write for?

it depends where the hyperfixation takes me, but it's usually going to be mostly star wars; era varies. right now, i'm actively posting for the Jedi: series games, but i also write for the kotor/swtor eras, and i did tcw fic back in the day. other fandoms i've written/posted for are doctor who, mdzs, and i poke at writing things for mass effect and dragon age from time to time, though i've never posted any of those. i've got a couple other fandoms i've dipped into for the purpose of fusions.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

oh boy. all of these are from like, 2019-2020 at LATEST, there's one on here that's from late 2017, but i wrote for a bigger fandom then and none of my good recent stuff will ever take over these spots because it's for smaller fandoms. alas. please do not take any of these as representative of my current fanon opinions XD

do you love me - this one is never leaving that spot. codywan arranged marriage fic from 2019 that is still very popular. i don't like a lot of the fanon tropes and things we used in that fic these days, but it's one of the longest finished fics i have and i can admit the plot was pretty well done. has 3394 kudos. (that's more than i remember.)

tell the world (i'm coming home) - the one where Vader defects during the events of Twilight of the Apprentice. mostly gen. has 2139 kudos

something inside this heart has died (you're in ruins) - codywan fic where Cody is in Kadavo. has the same issues as do you love me, but definitely has some of the best prose that i'd written at the time in it. has 1752 kudos

follow me (and i will bring you home) - i am not linking this one. a reylo fic i wrote back when tlj first dropped, very old and not among my better works whatsoever, but got popular at the time for being a big ship and posting shortly after a new movie. has 1497 kudos

i just wanna keep calling your name (until you come back home) - post-Order 66 codywan dreamsharing fic that i wrote for an exchange back in 2020. it has 1072 kudos

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

i used to, and i try to get to them on my smaller fics/fandoms these days, but back when i was writing big tcw fics i got in the habit of not doing it because there were so many it was hard to keep up with, so it's a mixed bag of if i do or not these days. but i see all of them, and they all bring me joy. well, most of them. the ones that don't aren't worth mentioning

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

mmmmm that's a hard one. i tend to prefer angst with a happy ending, or at least a hopeful ending, but back in, idk, 2017? i wrote a rogue one fic based off the song whiskey lullaby that was.... pretty grim, lol.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

lord i have no idea. probably the series i mentioned above that was orphaned? it had a sickeningly sweet ending involving a wedding and a kid for the main pairing, and happy endings for basically every other ship involved.

8. Do you get hate on fic?

sometimes. not often, thankfully, and usually not on AO3 itself, but back in my ffn days i got some, i've gotten a few assholes about stuff before also, and people will sometimes come at me here, but yknow, whatever. i'm used to it by now and i mostly just laugh it off and either ignore it or you get a snarky response

9. Do you write smut?

.....rarely? sometimes? i used to have a hard no policy on it, but i was also raised evangelical with a biiiig taboo on that kind of shit, so i've been slowly working through that and trying to get outside my comfort zone on it for years. i've written a couple smutty things that aren't on AO3, one that is, and i'll be involved in writing smut outtakes for one of my currently-posting series, but i don't tend to enjoy straight up pwp so it'll usually have a character reason for it, or plot. usually.

10. Do you write crossovers?

i do not write crossovers. i do deeply enjoy writing fusions (taking the characters from one franchise and dumping them into the world/plot of the other, but they've always been there). i have a clone wars hunger games au that is still my little baby and a kotor/swtor hp au that is my OTHER baby because it has involved years of work to make the hp universe....functional and not shitty and whatnot.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

not to my knowledge, though i've seen a few fics that made me squint suspiciously at them. it's definitely possible that something's been put on wattpad or something without me being made aware, but i don't actively look.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

yes! the very lovely @anayaghmeya has translated all of my mdzs fics into russian. none of my star wars fics have been, to my knowledge, but i do have an open permissions statement for that sort of thing, so one day it might happen

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

oh yeah, many times. my old tcw fics were cowritten with @thelavenderhimbo; i write a lot of tor era stuff with @ipreferfiction (hiiii beloved) and a little with @sith-shenanigans though none of those have been posted anywhere yet; i'm writing a spyscrapper fic with @dream-of-tanalorr right now, and senket and i are technically cowriting by virtue of posting an RP we're doing to AO3. i like cowriting; when the vibes are good, it works much better for me than doing stuff on my own. i've had it go very badly in the past, but for the most part it tends to work out well

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

i absolutely will not pick one. that being said, the only reason i found my way to fandom at all is Doctor/Rose from Doctor Who, so i feel like i owe them a shout-out for this, lol

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but probably won't?

oh, man, so many things. i really want to eventually finish all my tor-era novelization projects, but realistically those are such huge projects that with the ~mental illness~ it's gonna take a long-ass time if i ever do

16. What are your writing strengths?

these two questions are SUPER hard for me to answer because i deeply struggle with being objective about my own writing. i enjoy writing politics and political intrigue; i'm not so sure if i'm good at it, but i like it. i've been yelled at and informed i need to put "worldbuilding" and "getting deeply into characters' heads" in here as well, so i'm adding it. i like dialogue as well, i find it easier to write than other things, so that's going in here too.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

apparently. lol. ANYWAY i do tend to struggle with combat - sometimes i can really hit it well when it's a strong emotional beat, but writing action scenes that aren't really important for characterization is soooo hard for me i hate it. also, coming up with subplots.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?

it.... depends. i used to overuse it, now i rarely do; generally speaking, if it's another language entirely that the POV character understands i'll shift it to italics or some other way of conveying that, if it's one or two words scattered in the meaning should be understandable via context and i'll provide translations at the end. i only rarely use non-English words if the character can't understand what's being said.

19. First fandom that you wrote for?

the first fandom i posted fic for was Doctor Who. back when i was a kid and didn't know what fandom was or what fanfic was, i wrote a few paragraphs of a story set in the Eragon universe, lol

20. Favorite fic you've written?

i've got a couple i want to put shout outs to in here. war has let this age begin (it's where we've gone and where they've been) is my dramatization of my Revan's Mandalorian Wars and i'm still really proud of it after 2 years; it was the first solo-written longfic i'd finished in quite a while, and i'm very attached to my Revan and everything i did with it. i really like this mdzs fic, he said, son, can you play me a memory that i wrote last year. and of course in terms of recent stuff: i HAVE to mention do you taste my pain in this bloodstained place for the amount of worldbuilding and plotting davi and i have done on it - it's the spyscrapper Bad Ending villain pov fic that breaks off from canon partway through Jedi: Survivor.

A lot of my stuff is WIP. Nothings going to be particularly angsty when I'm done with it, but the conclusion of the current plot of The Trolley Problem is going to be a downer. Also The Third Task might get a bittersweet ending, depending on how you look at it.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Now I'm trying to remember if I have massages in my fics so I can make a joke out of that question. A lot of my things aren't really over. Is This a Kissing Fic? is short and sweet, with very little angst, so maybe that one.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Not yet!

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yep! It's limited so far, but both my Bigbad fic and the Kissing Fic have a lot of smut. I've got a monsterfucker WIP in the drafts somewhere. Crown of Thorns might have tentacles stuff in at some point. We'll see.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Kind of but not really? An old WIP is the cast of Supernatural but with the plot of Final Fantasy VI. It is unfinished, and not really a crossover. I have cameos from other things either in my fics or planned for my fics. Very blink-and-you'll-miss-it though.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not to my knowledge.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not exactly, but @gigglebug and I cross-beta'd a lot of DQB2 stuff together.

That's like picking a favorite child. Right now it's Steve/Eddie and Malroth/Builder.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

The aforementioned SPN-FF6 fic, Dancing Mad. Maybe someday.

Banter and dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Does doing too much world building count as a weakness? Otherwise, editing, probably.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it but it has to fit the character. And I don't really speak any other languages so I know I'm just kind of flailing at stuff. It's fanfic. It'll do.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Ao3 would tell you Supernatural but it's actually Legend of Zelda. Those are lost to time and my grandfather's old computer, never to be found again. Maybe something is written down on paper somewhere.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

I like the adventure fics with lots of twists, so probably Of Empires, Queens, and Builders. Maybe someday I'll write the sequel. Crown of Thorns is shaping up pretty nicely, too.

ultimately to me it only depends on the ship dynamic itself? I enjoyed the ship in Canis: Dear Hatter, but it's not because of the age gap. I also will get kinda dissuaded if one of them isnt an adult but the other is when they first meet

codependency 9/10

oh boy me and my gf for real. we met through killugon and codependency really is killugon. It can be extremely cathartic to see it in fiction to me

enemies to lovers 8/10

it really depends on who handles it. i dont like how reylo does it, but man, This Is How You Lose the Time War is like a masterclass in how to do it. I rate it more favourably cause I think I enjoy the slight forbidden aspect to it? And I can immediately think of more stories that do this well (in the sense that, "enemies" are more like two rival factions and both sides are like equally grey, and your rival just so happens to be your equal, you hold no grudge besides what your faction has told you to believe)

enemies with benefits 10/10

now THIS has a nice flavour. I love it when it fulfills that meme "you wanna fuck me so bad you look stupid". Bonus points if the benefits begin when A is injured and goes to B's place for shelter (it was great watching this happening in zoolander)

fake dating/relationship 9/10

I've been won over by my friends, i love the awkwardness that comes with fake dating for meeting a mutual need that is essentially kinda stupid (like impressing grandma or to spite your ex)

I feel like most of us monster relationship enjoyers had an awakening after watching a Guillermo del Toro movie. For me it was the Shape of Water, and afterwards a wlw beauty and the beast drawing i did that really won me over. I have a monster AU thingy over on my danganronpa account that I love to bits.

obsession, possessiveness, etc 7/10

can be handled so well or SO BADLY. it helps when any act of possessiveness isn't too serious but is also laced with the real angst, the good shit, the flavour of insecurity. it helps even more if the couple knows how to communicate through this rather than lashing out at each other with passive aggressive arguments, which I hate to see :)

opposites (like grumpy×sunshine, etc) 10/10

LITERALLY KILLUGON. literally all of our preteen angel/devil OC obsession coming back as a popular trope. what's not to love about opposites being together and balancing each other out!

poly 10/10

So a poly ship took over my brain for a good 2 years. I'm in the middle of writing a fic about how three people get together, and even researching by picking up The Ethical Slut (which btw is a great read on how to have healthy relationships in general too, it has so much good advice)

pregnancy -9/10

It's a personal choice, only because i'm scared of conceiving so i really prefer not to see it in fic. Giving it a -9 cause I do have exceptions in fic (being whether it was recommended to me or whether it's from authors whose work I enjoy)

second chance 5/10

Again it’s really down to the characters and how it’s handled. I enjoyed it in some fics I’ve read long ago, but I won’t go out of my way to find it

sex to feelings 10/10

the one thing i love about friends with benefits is exactly this. the potential for MESS

slowburn 9/10

It can be so so good. A kagehina fic once destroyed me with how slow the burn was but it was so neat to see it growing slowly but surely. I think it can only work if you and the author agree on the eventual endgame ship

Nope. But then again, I don't get much comments either because of how small my fandoms are.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yep! Recently I have been messing around with it as well, for kinktober, and now I'm a bit ashamed to look my beta in the eyes.

I will admit, I usually post my kinky smut on an alt for that excat reason. Too many people I know irl know my main AO3 handle ^^;

But yeah, I love writing smut! But sometimes I want to play around with themes or settings too, and it doesn't always belong in those stories.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Yep! My fave is this fic, which I consider to be one of my best works:

I am also working on a few side projects that are crossovers. Since they're both longfics, I'm waiting to have over half of them done before releasing them (I've learned my lesson about those XD).

One is a Bablyon 5 and Star Wars crossover, where droids invade the world of B5, and a clone battalion is sent through to stop them.

The other is about the bad batch waking up on Blackreef.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not stolen, but I have had elements of a story plagiarized. I never called the other author on it, because it was one of their first fics, and because of the fandom and tags we had in common I don't think it was malicious.

12. There was no question 12 so I'll make one up myself: How many WIPs do you have?

18, not counting all the unfished kinktober one-shots. Some of those are original stories that won't go on AO3 though.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope, but I would love to!

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

How bad would it wound if i name something from a fandom I never wrote for? Winterfrost is my favourite ship. I would die for some Bucky x Loki.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I just keep forgetting it exists tbh ^^; I've changed and grew a lot as a writer since I started it, and as I've said it would need a full rewrite. Maybe one day I will get to it (It is my second most popular fic as well), because the two fandoms it's from deserve that, but I have like 3 longfics to get through before that.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Characters. Funnily enough it's also one of my greatest weaknesses because if I can't write a character, I never will, but for those that I do write well, well, they're great.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Dyslexia and writing on mobile. Sometimes my autocorrect does things, and I don't notice them, and then my beta goes "???" on stuff that any 4 year old would have caught XD

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I did it once, I'll do it again! But readers did drop it after those chapters (and that fic is no longer on AO3). I think it adds a lot of realism to a scene.

On that note, one of my favourite Outer Worlds fics had Welsh text in it. The author went to great lengths to make it readable to peeps who didn't speak it, with hyperlinks and stuff. But I was reading on mobile, so it never worked for me XD I had google translate open in the background, and was missing half the dialogue, but i was sooo into it that I didn't care.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Soul Eater. But that fic will never see the light of day. I'm even more embarrassed by it than I am from showing my experimental kinky smut to my irl friends. (Yes it involved a shinigami self-insert smooching Death the Kid). I was 14...

20. Favourite fic you've written?

Tough pick. I'd say overall this one :

For Prongsfoot Week Day 4: Favorite type of story that you like to Read and/or Write for this ship?

Oh goodness. So I feel like everyone who follows me knows that I’m up for ANYTHING when it comes to James and Sirius. The only thing I don’t like reading is genuinely unrequited love, when one of them is head over heels and the other seems to be using them or just doesn’t care that there are feelings involved-- as I think they’re the most important people to each other, naturally this rubs me the wrong way.

But saying that I love everything and not giving a few examples feels like not participating, so have a few rambles about my faves XD

I really like to write:

Fluff. Pure fluff. There is no point to the story except the fact that James and Sirius live together and are comfortably in love.

Silly love confessions! The sort of short, blurted out things at inopportune times that make you wonder how either of them function as human beings

I think I’ve only finished and posted one, but I like writing Sirius or James as time traveling to the past when they die and trying to go through Hogwarts while acting like a regular teenager and also desperately trying to keep the other safe as the war approaches

Resurrected James is, of course, a personal favorite, because everyone treats Sirius like a criminal, and James thinks he’s the best thing to ever exist and will stand up for him at the drop of a hat

I’m not very good at writing Dom/Sub for them, but I like doing it ^-^

Rom Com AU’s! This is another one where I don’t think I’ve actually finished and posted very many of them, but I always have fun when I rewrite a modern hetero romance for James/Sirius

Slytherin Sirius. Him and James are always drawn to each other, but when Sirius is in Slytherin, he tries for that not to be true-- and fails, of course

I’m not sure if this really counts, but I like writing Sirius and Lily as good friends, especially if it’s an AU where Sirius and Lily have met before Sirius and James have

The list of things I like reading is equally long and difficult to pin down, but here are a few that come to mind:

Angst, angst, angst. I prefer reading this as to writing it because I don’t have the patience for it, but other people get it PERFECT, no matter the flavor of angst they’re doing

I also love reading Slytherin Sirius! He’s so bitchy, and it’s perfect, because so often in other fics, James and Sirius are teaming up on other people with that attitude, but when Sirius is in Slytherin, they aim it at each other instead.

Memory loss/amnesia AU’s. Whether fluffy or angsty, they always hit the spot because James and Sirius are EVERYTHING to each other, and when they suddenly lose a piece of the other, it throws them off kilter.

@gracelesslady23‘s fics have really made me come around to James and Sirius getting together amidst a personal crisis, and I really like the others that I’ve found. Sometimes it’s a mid-life crisis, sometimes it’s failing grades at Hogwarts, and sometimes it’s Fleamont and Euphemia getting sick/dying. I think in large part I like these fics because it lets James and Sirius realize how much they rely on each other, and what that means to them

5. do you respond to comments? why or why not? I try to! Especially lately I’ve been trying to make it a habit to respond. Sometimes I don’t because either I simply don’t know what to say or I see the comment, but don’t have the energy to respond and i promise myself i will later but then i forget LOL

6. what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? I’ve written a few really angsty endings in my time, but maaaaaan Violet Skies really has to take the cake. Like, the ending was so angsty, I decided to write two sequels just so the story didn’t end on that note 😂 No other fic has ever compelled me to do that before

7. do you write crossovers? Bitch, that’s all I write 95% of the time these days! XD I’ve only written 2 non-crossover fics in the past year. Yes, i know I have a problem

8. have you ever received hate on a fic? I have, but it’s very rare and frankly only one particular time popped into my head from the past 5 years. There are benefits to writing niche crack crossover fics hardly anybody reads i guess

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind? YEEEEEP idk, go look at the tags on my E-rated fics and find out 😏

10. have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes, one of my older fics was uploaded to a website I had never heard of without my permission and honestly, I have no idea what happened after I filed my complaint

11. have you ever had a fic translated? Yep! My two Star Wars merman fics Horizon and Submerge were translated into Russian with my permission :D

12. have you ever co-written a fic before? Not really. I’ve had detailed discussions about ideas that I later wrote into fic or was written into fic by the person I was talking with, but nothing officially collaborated on

13. what’s your all-time favorite ship? (LA) Jafar/Prince Adam. not to sound like a narcissist, but it’s such a me ship. Cuz I started shipping it under very specific circumstances that I, personally, was going through and provided a very personal, safe space during a time I was still getting over being in a less than kind larger fandom. It’s a culmination of pieces of other fandoms I’ve been in over the years and am still in. I’m very protective of it, but I also get very excited when other people show interest. If you’re interested, please tell me! Please write and draw them! I need more people in this dinghy of a ship XD

14. what’s a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? Probably my Jafar/Adam Absolute Boyfriend/I’m Your Man AU. I started writing it around the time I’m Your Man premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and Dan Stevens was doing a lot of promo for it and naturally it got me thinking about robot boyfriend!Adam which reminded me of that manga I read years ago. I would love to finish this AU someday. There’s a lot of fun ideas I put into it and I like what I wrote so far. But I reached a point with the fic where I didn’t know where I wanted to take it and I’ve been stumped ever since

15. what are your writing strengths? I’ve been told I’m good at writing angst and world building. And smut. Apparently I’m very good at writing smut lol

16. what are your writing weaknesses? Sometimes I’ll word things weirdly because I tend to write as my brain is thinking and y’know sometimes we don’t think in complete sentences or we think in concepts and those concepts don’t translate into a full sentence as easily as you picture it. It’s why I feel like my descriptions can get choppy. Also, I think I use unnecessary conjunctions and sequencers too much

17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language? I think it’s fine as long as it’s done well and not over-used

18. what was the first fandom you ever wrote for? Pokémon. i was 6 and i wrote self-insert fic. it was very bad but i remember being very proud of myself for using the word “sighed”

19. what’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written? Violet Skies. I put so much into that fic. I got through some pretty dark times with that fic at my back. I don’t know if it’s my best fic, but it’s the one I put the most love into, which is saying a lot because (as sappy as this sounds) I try to write all my fics with love. I try to put my energy into writing characters and ideas that I love, or else what’s the point? write for love

DAY 5 - Favorite Tropes for this Ship?

friends to lover + slow burn: I don't think any explanation is needed here xD

they live together after Hogwarts: as I have already said, for me this is the ideal period for them to admit their feelings for each other and start their relationship.

soulmate au: they are definitely soulmates regardless of whether the universe confirms this with a some kind of sign or not. in the first case, it's charming, and in the second case, you can especially feel the indestructible love of Sirius and James for each other, who are ready to go against all the foundations of the world to be together.

dark au: how many times have I already said this this week, lmao-

mutual pining + oblivious james & flirting sirius: There's something exciting about how confident James blushes and stumbles when he's with Sirius, because that's the only person who can turn him on, as well as how Sirius gains more self-confidence in James' company and becomes an easy flirt because he likes to embarrass James and this is a safe way to confess your feelings to a friend every day.

hanahaki au: I'm a slut for this trope. I think you can imagine my joy when @ /camichats wrote a fic with this au (+ pining james!!).

rivals to friends to lovers: reading about Sirius!Slytherin and James!Gryffindor is really exciting. moreover, I do not see them initially as enemies. yes, they have prejudices about each other, but there is no mutual hatred. and it's a pleasure to read how their relationship develops from alertness to each other to complete trust (thanks @ /gracelesslady23 and fictionalcandie!)

the third variable: it can hardly be called a trope, but I had an idea for a fik when we are watching the relationship between Sirius and James from the perspective of a third person, who is in love with one of them.

it would be wonderful if someone liked my ideas with this “trope”, but I can continue to think about them alone, its okay

(in my case, it happens during the first war, when James, Sirius and Regulus lived in the same house. Regulus couldn't help but fall in love with the freedom - loving and the ardent James, in whose chest the heart of a real Gryffindor was pounding. James treated Regulus warmly and, perhaps, a couple of times they even had their moments when it seemed that the feelings of the younger Black were mutual, but when Sirius appeared on the horizon, James' entire attention switched to him. Regulus had to come to terms with the fact that he could never mean as much to James as Sirius. but James wasn't consciously playing with Regulus' feelings, it's just that he wasn't used to thinking much about anyone else besides Sirius. an egocentric slut for attention? maybe.

I also have a little dark plot from Lily's perspective, who is either dating James or close to it, but she can't help but be stressed by how close James and Sirius are. and she realizes that although James always comes back to her, one day it won't happen, and Sirius' predatory grins tell her that she's not the only one who knows about it (but in any case there is no actual treason. also, there is more emphasis not on pain/angst, but on the continuity of the connection of these two, who will not be able to build a relationship with anyone else, because for Sirius or James they will always be in second place after the best friend.).

in my ideas, everyone falls in love with James. probably because in the case of Sirius, no one would initially have a chance to even just draw his attention to themself, lmao (op28).

What’s your total AO3 word count? 30,661 words

How many fandoms have you written for and what are they? I've only written for one fandom, that being Star Wars tho it branches into Clone Wars Era and SWTOR Era.

What are your top 5 fics by kudos? I only have 2 but it would be The Lost Heir as number 1 with 6 Kudos and Of Vod and Aru'ese as number 2 with 3 kudos. I've had Of Vod and Aru'ese longer but I don't argue with readers over which they like more, not my place to do so xD

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? Hmmmm. Both could have really angsty endings though it would probably be Of Vod and Aru'ese. (I'm not done with it yet but I can't imagine seeing this without the angst ending)

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? Of the 2 that I have it would probably be The Lost Heir. (I'm not done with it yet but I can't see it as angsty as Of Vod and Aru'ese)

Too much stuff going on and all, I struggle just to keep my non crossover fics straight xD And if I did it would be just a one shot with my Star Wars OCs and my LotR based OCs but I can't do that right now xD

Have you ever received hate on a fic? No. I haven't. I hope I never do truthfully, I'm really insecure about my writing so it would hurt if I got hate on one. Especially if its one that I really like.

Have you ever co-written a fic before? Hehe. Um. About that. I have a Google Doc that I haven't touched in awhile, but the plan was to co-write a Star Wars fic with @outcastcommander. I stopped writing for a long time and I'm not confident to write a fic with their characters cause I don't know them as well so. But I have made nudges towards my OCs in Of Vod and Aru'ese knowing of the existance of the Outcasts xD

What’s your all-time favorite ship? Oooooh. That is a hard one...Hmmm. I bounce back and forth between a lot of ships cause I can never just stay on one (blame my brain lol xD). But I currently am on a lot of FFXIV Warrior of Light x G'raha Tia (or Aymeric, or Haurchefant, or Hien, or Estinien) cause I play it and I'm just like ahfldksfjdofjasdof

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? I'll for sure finish Of Vod and Aru'ese and The Lost Heir, eventually xD But I have a lot of fics in my Google Drive and I haven't touched them in so long that I'm just like "....nah".

What are your writing strengths? I feel like my strengths are description and my ability to write angst. Like, the two go hand in hand sometimes especially if you're trying to make it hurt, I go hard into descriptions. *motions to the one chapter of Of Vod and Aru'ese where Marissa had a vision where her boys were dead* I do the same thing when I'm a D&D DM xD

What are your writing weaknesses? Dialogue. I barely know how to carry a conversation in real life cause I don't pick up on a lot of things in them so my dialogue always feels rocky and awkward to me. There are exceptions to that, but its the rule for me.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? I try to avoid it, unless its in character for them. Tho, since my fics are Star Wars, its mainly Mandoa and there are a ton of resources for that. I do make sure to have translations at the end for people. If I did a more modern one, then I'd have a bit more trouble and give a warning and apologize to anyone who actually knows the language xD

What was the first fandom you wrote for? ......You think its Star Wars don't you? Its not. Of Vod and Aru'ese is not the first fanfiction I wrote. Though I can barely call it one. I wrote a Lord of the Rings fanfiction when I was in 8th grade (I think it was in the year 2013?) I think. And it became the base for my first ever D&D game that I ran. (...I might actually write a fic on how everything went in my head before it became a D&D thing)

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? Currently my favorite fic I've been writing is Of Vod and Aru'ese xD Shits about to hit the fan and about to get really angsty for a bit. I'm not spoiling but yeah xD (Tho I haven't actually written that chapter yet but I do have a rough idea of what its gonna be xD)

Generally I only write for one fandom at a time, and right now that's all things Tolkien.

Almost always, because it's really important to me that commenters know how much I appreciate their taking the time to leave their thoughts

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Angstiest? That's hard to say (。﹏。)

Haunted, Hunted is pretty angst, but also the ending is pretty much parallel to canon, so I can't really take credit for that one.

Sandbox Love is angsty in the true sense of the word I think, because the central grief of it is that Luthien does not seem to return Galadriel's interest in her.

OH and there's my first-ever Silm fic, which focused on Anaire in the wake of the rebellion of the Noldor, that's pretty angsty First Ruins of the Noldor

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Also hard to answer. I feel like I've written a lot of emotional fluff which is tonally "happy" even if the ending isn't a "happily ever after." Any of the trio of flash fics I wrote about Silm parent/child relationships would qualify.

Do I lol My percentage of smut fics has skyrocketed in the last three years.

Very rarely, because they usually don't compel me. However in February I did write a Silm/Crimson Peak crossover, Fruit of the Family Tree.

Technically no...one time as a teenager I agreed to do it, but I totally failed to uphold my end of that bargain ;;;; I would have to feel pretty close to someone at this point to agree to cowrite.

All-time forever? idk. Silm OTP is Feanor/Nerdanel though. I believe in marriage counseling 🫶

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Any WIPs I currently have are all effectively discarded. If I can't finish a WIP or make significant progress on it within a few weeks, I can almost guarantee it will never be completed.

Scenery descriptions and subplots

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

Generally I think it serves only to distract and frustrate the reader. If they happen to speak that language it's fine, but in the majority of cases they probably don't, and it doesn't really fulfill any purpose. If they're not familiar with the language, especially if it has a different alphabet from the one you're using for the rest of the fic, a reader isn't even going to know what that dialogue sounds like, let alone what it says. If I include it--and I try not to--I always include an immediate translation in the same line of dialogue. Having to scroll to the bottom and then back up for a translation is super frustrating and as a reader, I usually will not bother, so I don't expect my readers to either.

——— EXPERIENCE! ♡ I’m old. I’ve roleplayed for way too many years and I can’t seem to let it go. I don’t remember which year I started roleplaying, but I remember it being on a norwegian website for Harry Potter roleplay. That is where my oc Lucifer was made, and I played him for many years on there before I eventually decided to quit due to too much bullying. (When I first started rp I had no sense of what was right or wrong regarding choice of character so I played someone people on there didn’t agree with, which had them bully me pretty heavily. The character wasn’t Lucifer, it was someone else, but ugghh. Never understood people’s need to bully and harass people for stuff like that. Anyway, rant over). I’ve also rp’d on MSN, Skype and Discord as well as a few games such as Rust, World of Warcraft, Valheim etc. Oh, and LARPing, I’ve done that too. I started on Tumblr in 2016 (I think?) roleplaying as Widowmaker from Overwatch for a couple years, before I switched between a few other muses. Then I had the bright idea of wanting to roleplay as Obi-Wan since I’ve always liked him quite a lot, and then I ended up here. That’s just my roleplay experience though, not my writing experience which is more vast tbh. I started writing when I was seven, wrote my first finished book at twelve, sent it to a publishing company at sixteen (didn’t get accepted, but got a lot of advice and encouragment), and finally got my first book published in 2017. Now I’m working on three separate projects, two in english and one in norwegian. Gonna stop myself here, cause otherwise this post will be wayyyy too long, haha. Feel free to ask should you be curious about anything though. I’m more than happy to chat about this or anything else!

——— MUSE PREFERENCE! I tend to write more male muses than female ones, simply because it comes easier to me. Always have for some reason. Don’t know why. Guess I just feel I’m not able to communicate a realistic female muse so I rarely tend to have them. It’s probably all just in my mind, though. I also always use a bit of time to get to know the muse when I start rping as them, but as soon as that’s done, they’re stuck with me forever!

——— FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT! ♡ FLUFF : Also a huge yes please. I mostly end up writing fluff I feel with romantic ships, since I love letting my characters be content and happy as much as I love letting them suffer. ANGST : Yes please. I love angst very much even if it makes me cry. I am often so connected to my characters that I can feel their pain, whether that be physical or mental pain, which again have had me crying as I write at some points. Still love angst though - maybe there’s something wrong with me xD SMUT : I don’t mind smut at all, as I find it a vital part of a romantic ship, though that does not mean that you have to rp smut with me. Not at all! I love romance without smut too. Sometimes when writing smut my brain just stops - probably due to my own trauma - so when or if you write smut with me I may reply slowly cause I need to restart the brain from time to time. Other than that I don’t mind it, though I do not rp smut with everyone nor do I write smut for the sake of smutting - it has to have some plot to it.

PLOT / MEMES : I encourage plotting, and I love memes so either is fine by me. However, more often than not I tend to go with the flow, letting Obi-Wan do the work while I just write down what he believes is right.

i'm curious, what are your top 10 favorite rinharu moments in high speed and high speed 2?? i love the books. i don't understand why people say is impossible to ship rinharu if you read them...

Lmao who are those “people”? As in multiple? And are they from Mars? I do not get this. You cannot be serious. You probably meant “impossible not to ship”?

I don’t know about top ten, I love all of their interractions tbh, they just remind me of my fav type of romance in general. I know what are my top 5 I think, but after that I love everything, so it’s hard to rate.

1. My absolutely favorite moment will forever be the one, where Rin describes the way he sees Haru in the water, I’m seriously forever in awe, because, I’ve read a lot of books, and like... even period dramas got nothing on Rin Matsuoka, when he describes the love of his life. I mean, seriously, find yourself a person who sees you the way Rin sees Haru lol

Rin felt like he was touched by the light, that surrounded him with warmth. He turned around to see Haruka, who was glowing. Shining. Haruka was shining with every strong and confident stroke that he made. The outstanding energy, emitted from him, surrounded Haruka with the dazzling light and Rin froze, unable to look away. Rin’s heart was beating so hard in his chest, that he forgot how to breathe. Haruka stole his heart. And the further away he got from him, the more distance grew between them, the more uneasy Rin felt, like he was losing the control over his emotions. He was possesed by Haruka’s shining. His strokes looked as if he was hugging the water, his leg movements were so effortless and so elegant, as if water herself was moving him to the finish line. But in all these deceptively smooth and unhurried motions were so much strength and power and such incredible speed, that all his opponents didn’t stand a chance. His swimming was that transcendent reality. He was like a bird dancing in the sky with its wings spread wide.”

Dude... I’m like... still speechless. I mean, and not just this, but everytime Rin talks about Haru, even when he jokes about his stupid habbits, you still feel that he finds him so beautiful, inside and outside, that it just makes my heart melt.

2. When Aki tells Rin that if you put him and Haru together, you get a perfection.

“That guy has no sense of humor. He should learn by watching me, don't you think?" Rin joked lightly.

Aki laughed a bit at his words. "It's true. Add the two of you together and divide by two, and it would be perfect."

But I mainly love that moment, because like... Aki starts telling him, that Haru is not what he's pretending to be (like for some idiots in the fandom who call him selfish, that was the explanation for them xD) and how everyone always want something from him, and he never asks for anything in return and doesn’t have anyone to lean on (yup that’s what I said all along, too, with Makoto’s dumb behavior in difficult situations, he’s on his own there lmao). And she waits for Rin to deny it or like be surprised, but it turned out that that’s exactly how Rin sees him and that he cracked him from the very beginning. BTW, here’s your addition to the ask about Rin loving Haru for who he is and seeing him for who he is. I’m just in love with that moment, because I’m happy that he just... not only he knows him, but bc he’s not one of those many idiots who just don’t get it.

"Nanase-kun seems like he can do anything all by himself, doesn't he? He's good at studying and sports and even art. He really can do anything, right? That's why everyone relies on him, but it would really be something for Nanase-kun to rely on anyone, wouldn't it?"

Rin certainly thought this was true. He had only just transferred, but the image that Rin had of Haruka was exactly that. But even if Haruka didn't have the will to go out and get involved with other people on his own, it wasn't like he was completely isolated. On the contrary, he was considered the most reliable person in their class, and when people relied on him, he always did his best to meet their expectations. This was the strange balance that people around Haruka had to maintain.

3. The one when Haru calls Rin by his name for the first time. And I honestly for some reason didn’t even realize that this moment was in the anime until my 3rd rewatch (lol), but, man, little Rin’s reaction is the most adorable ever. I cry.

4. When Gou meets Haru for the first time and immediately goes “ah so you’re Haruka Nanase, the one, who my brother talks about 24/7...‘Nanase is so cool, Nananse is so fast!’” and Rin just goes red lmfaaaaaooooo.

5. When Haru says that he feels the fever running through his body each time he just sees Rin, but he doesn’t understand what it means... ahem.... OH WELL

6. When Rin tells them he’s leaving and Haru gets absolutely furious and calls him a selfish jerk, but then he feels his legs giving out and he thinks that he needs to be in the water, but then he realizes, that for the first time in his life it won’t save him and he’s so lost and fucking crushed. "you can’t just mess up my whole life and leave me like that” and “this can’t be true, I can’t be this weak.” aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa fucking hellish angst... that mix of emotions was seriously hideous, at first he was so confused and in denial, he couldn’t even think, he literally went “who is leaving?” and then it just all blew up. Poor baby.

7. Just all the little moments, when Rin notices everything Haru does and falls in love a bit more each time. Like when Haru slowed down, when he saw that Nagisa is having troubles of keeping up with him.

Nagisa was earnestly trying to keep up with Haruka. If he kept up that pace, he wouldn't be able to run next to Haruka for the whole trip. That was how it had been yesterday. Nagisa's breath was coming short, and when Haruka saw him slow down a pace, he lightly turned his eyes downward. I guess that's as far as he goes.

A sigh mixed with Haruka's long breaths. Then, by just a tiny increment, Haruka let his pace slacken.

"Oh?" Rin said quietly. Haruka could almost hear him saying "You're so nice, Nanase," and he tsked inwardly. Nagisa caught up to him, smiling as if it hurt a bit. It looked like he'd lost the energy to keep talking.

Just cute, and they watched each other all the time, it’d be a bitch to count each one, but god, all of them were cute.

8. All the moments of Haru pulling Rin’s pigtails... hilarious, especially the RinRin one, but the funniest and my favorite was when Nagisa turned to Haru to ask him for a permision to call Rin Rin-Rin, like... all the rights to Rin belong to Haru and vice versa lmao I agree. “I’ll allow it” lolz shut it, Haru.

9. This moment: “Something happened inside of him that made Haruka incredibly angry, he was so pissed, that he didn’t even want to swim anymore. To think that someone like Rin could make him feel such powerful swirl of emotions and make him such a mess... he felt disgusted with himself.” Yeah, Haru, love is dat bitch when you’re 13 lol

10. The one where Haru whispers “sorry for making you feel that way” to Rin? The one where Rin’s grandma doesn’t want to go to see the relay, but then she suddenly does, when she finds out that her grandson’s future husband is in it? The “he at that moment realized that the only thing Rin was concerned about was Haruka” one? I don’t fucking know, you pick haha ANY MOMENT, ALL THE MOMENTS XD

BUT in all seriousness, I do not get how you can love Makoharu after the novels. Like do people just ignore these moments:

“Haru waved Makoto off like an annoying fly”, “feeling annoyed by his obnoxious care, Haruka went right past him”, “feeling like Makoto’s smile could turn into tears any second now, Haru turned away and went to the showers” (fuck this shit I’m out lmao), “complitely ignoring him, Haru kept walking”.

??????? is this... does anyone find this amazing??????!!!!!!!!!!!

Or when Haru was literally fucking losing it, cause Makoto just repeated everything after him and how he just lost all the respect in that moment.

“I feel like I should also get into running.” Makoto said it as it was a joke, but Haru knew for sure that it wasn’t. More than that, he knew, that Makoto was going to ask him that ever since the moment he found out that Haru was running this morning. Haruka fel annoyed, because he couldn’t find the excuse to refuse him.

Or this moment:

“Makoto was late and Haruka didn’t have any reasons to wait for him. Makoto can catch up with him on the way, they’ll meet at the swimming club either way. For both of them it’ll be better, if Haru went by himself, than stood there and waited Makoto, slowly losing his temper.”

“Haruka felt uncomfortable, cause Makoto looked at him, as if was a weak”

Or this:

"Did you know I was going to come out here?" Even though he knew it was impossible, Makoto couldn't stop himself from asking.

"Nope."

"Then, why…" are you standing in a place like this?

"Watching the sunset."

and I can go on and on and on

I’m just saying, all these moments are not even funny. My point in all this, that like no matter how much Haru loves Makoto as a friend... or got used to him is what I personally think, I don’t think he’s ever gonna idk how to say this... respect him as a human being? admire him? And this whole situation... I just can’t appreciate such kind of relationships even in a friends way.

1stly because Makoto’s behavior in general makes me have war flashbacks to some of my real life experiences (and yeah, I confess, it affected me and that’s why I don’t like his character a lot; because I don’t think many people know what it’s like to deal with these kind of people in general). 2ndly, cause Makoto fans keep trashing Haru and many call him selfish bc of the way he treats him, but what they don’t understand is that if it wasn’t for Haru being this harsh, Makoto would literally became even doormat-y than he is now (yes, it’s possible lmao).

P.S. my favorite in the novels tbh is all the Haru “I’m surrounded by idiots” moments, like when they started to dig the frozen soil with little scrapes and he was looking at them like they’re morons and then just silently walked away and came back with a giant shovel... “if you keep doing this with your tiny scoopers, we’re gonna be here all night” and they then they just watched him as he did everything himself LMFAO I just love him so freaking much. I also think his relationship with Nagisa are incredible and so underrated, since it’s a huge and incredible part of the books. I just keep saying, Haru’d be an amazing dad, so I can’t wait for him and Rin to adopt xD
