My personal interpretation of the DCA [that I'll be using for my Geppetto AU as well]:
"Sun and Moon being such extreme opposites to each other just make them even more similar to one another" thing tickles me.
The more differences noted between them just make one a reflection to the other.
Like- They literally complete eachother "0 + 0 = 0" style.
One of my favorite things about their dynamic is when people write them like rivals/enemies.
Not necessarily 'I hate you. I want you dead.' style [those are interesting to see too tho], more like 'Why can't I have what you have?'
Sun being placed on the "Hero" role brings him the love, praise and admiration from the public since script. Yet, he must be like the good guy. He needs to behave, follow rules, if he messes up anything that's out of his role people will change their thoughts on him. Moon makes a scene, Sun saves the day and a shower of praise falls upon him. But even tho, Sun doesn't have an actual reason to act different from what he was already doing since he gets the attention he wants.
Moon being place for the "Villain" role makes people automatically be wary of him. Is already expected of him to act like a bad guy. But still, he has no boundaries to follow. He can do the chaos he wants, with such freedom that Sun doesn't have. Moon doesn't need to worry about what people think of him, at the end he will be the villain anyway. He just enjoys the attention.
"What makes you so special?"
As theater jesters, both of them just need reactions from the public. And they're fine with that.
And then daycare happens in their lifes.
They aren't supposed to be there. They are not made for that place. They weren't taught to be there.
As much as different the reactions they get from the children by their new works. They are stuck together in the same situation. Negligencied by the company that brought them to life being submissed to be fools. Turned into pacifiers for little children at the Pizzaplex. [And they are kinda bad at it by design (literally scaring the kids with their uncanny valley features), but at least they tried to go along]
No matter how distant they want to get from eachother, they NEED eachother to make this work.
If one falls, the other will be dragged along.
When Moon was forced to stay off, Sun was forced to function 24/7 with no rests during the day until closing time [which is still not much since Moon comes out once per hour (in theory)]. Moon lost his freedom and Sun was even more pressured to keep his new duty at double rate.
And the daycare closed.
The Mega Pizzaplex fell down.
Both of them are doomed in the same abyss. The only thing they didn't completely lost is the body they are forced to share. Constantly fighting for control whenever they have a chance.
But at what cost?
Whenever Sun or Moon are in control, they are alone, stuck in the ruins of the place with lurking withered animatronics like them. Left to rot and be replaced soon.
"If I was programed with the knowledge to fix it, it would've already been done."
They are both stuck in that place. Together.
[even as separated people or one split mind they complete eachother so well]

Actually, I do have kinda a "new witch" question: I follow a few witch tumblrs that advocate for like personal correspondences and making your practice your own, especially if something doesn't vibe with you or isn't accessible (eg my family watches like hawks and would notice if I took some herbs mysteriously). What's your thoughts on this? Do you think it's something we should do?
(Also side tangent, since idk crystal correspondences well I've been looking up how they are made scientifically to come up with correspondences)
Oh you must not have been around my blog recently! I made a post about their not too long ago. Yes I absolutely think that's something witches should do.
Belief is a part of it. Your practice may function differently because through UPG you've developed unique beliefs and that changes how you approach things.
Accessibility is also a factor. Like in the example you used, there are secret witches. There are poor witches. There are mentally ill and disabled witches who have to all approach things differently.
Also correspondences are deeply subjective and influenced by culture. You can develop personal correspondences, yes. I did this by learning a lot of the common correspondences you'll find in books or online, and then asking myself where those came from. The answers are vast. Science. Culture. Folklore. Comparison to other plants. Comparison to other correspondence system that are also subjective and cultural. You get the idea. Then I started looking into local plants, studying them, experimenting and developing my own uses.
Sorta like what you described with crystals! Which btw, I would be happy to find you some common crystal correspondences, but I honestly think your approach is smart. I always suggest people look into the science behind the things they're working with, like foraging, botany, and gardening for plants. Geology is just that for crystals, gemstones, etc.
In fact my practice is mostly made up of this concept. Learn about what other people are doing and why they do it, then experiment with your own methods and develop ideas and beliefs from there.
As long as you know the how, the why, the risks, or for things like spell work, how to undo, then you can go nuts. You can do things you've never seen in books or seen other witches do.
Witchcraft is deeply personal. Each witch will have their own rules.

All TTRPGs are "Narrative-Focused."
Tumblr media
I feel like I have got to remind TTRPG players (and even worse, remind TTRPG designers) that “story” and “narrative” are happening the entire time they’re playing no matter what.
There is no such thing as "Roleplay vs Rollplay," it's always roleplay and it's always narrative, whether you are rolling the dice or not.
“Crunch” and "combat' is not “when there’s no story or narrative just a bunch of boring numbers” and “fluff” is not “the time that the boring numbers step aside and let there be an actual narrative.”
“Crunch” is when the rules and/or the dice influence the story or narrative in some way, and “fluff” is when a player (including the game master) has to come up with a part of the story or narrative without any mechanical scaffolding supporting its emergence.
This isn’t a factor of just combat, but combat tends to be what people say this about the most. It’s not “combat vs roleplay”, or "roleplay vs rollplay", combat is roleplay, combat is part of the story.
There is no-such thing as a "more narratively focused TTRPG", all TTRPGs are equally narrative-focused, you just might not be recognizing the narrative because it isn't the narrative you're trying to tell. Even combat-focused games like D&D5e are telling a narrative story, it's just a narrative story about larger-than-life heroes who get into lots and lots of fights. All of those crunchy numbers on the character sheet are "roleplay mechanics." The Fighter's role is to engage the enemy head-on, the Rogue's role is to sneak around an attack the enemy from behind. That is their role in battle and that is their role in the story, because the story is about a group of battling battlers and the battles they battle. What a character is good at and what they are bad at is part of their characterization, and their characterization is part of the narrative. You're playing a game that is meant to tell the same type of story as a Marvel movie.
In fact if you’re playing a game like any edition of D&D, that is based around combat, then combat is actually the most important part of the story, because that is the time that a protagonist can fail in their goals and/or die.
If you’re playing an RPG, and you’re finding that the rules and dice are constantly getting in the way of the story you’re trying to tell—well first of all let me remind you that TTRPG stories are supposed to be emergent, if the DM keeps faking dice rolls to keep the story "on track", you aren't really telling an emergent story—and secondly then that is a glaring sign that you are playing the game wrong, and you are playing the wrong game. And when you search for the right game, you don’t necessarily need a system with less rules, you could be very happy with a system with a lot of rules as long as you play a system with rules that support the kind of narrative you’re trying to tell.
I've said it in another post before, that for TTRPGs, rules are like wind, and the narrative is like a sailboat. You might be having to push your boat up-wind, and feel frustrated with all the wind pushing back against you as you try to make a combat-focused game like any edition of D&D be all about characters calmly working out their differences. You might think then that you need less rules/less wind, and that crunch, dice-rolling, and/or combat are the opposite of storytelling and roleplaying, but it isn't. You need to find some wind/rules that are blowing in the direction you want the story to go. You need to find a different game. No, you really can't just homebrew combat out of the game.
If you don't like combat, you need to find an RPG that isn't focused on combat. If you do like combat, well, still find a different game than D&D5e becuase its combat is pretty bad compared to like every other edition of D&D and every other combat-focused fantasy RPG. If you don't like D&D5e combat you might even find that you really enjoy some other game's combat if you give it a shot.
Here is a post about escaping from WotC, D&D5e, and the legitimately harmful effects it has. It also has a great many more resources for that than this post does.
I'm listing one resource here because it's my post. The A.N.I.M. TTRPG Book Club can a good starting point for where to find a game that better suits your needs. It’s a discord server that treats playing TTRPGs like a book club, with the goal of introducing members to a wide variety of games other than D&D5e. RPGs are nominated by members, then we hold a vote to decide what to read and play for a short campaign, then we repeat. There is no financial, time, or schedule investment required to join this book club, I promise it is very schedule-friendly, because we assign people to different groups based of schedule compatibility. You don’t have to play each campaign, or any campaign, you can just read along and participate in discussion that way. And if you can’t afford to buy the rulebook we’re going to be reading, we will make sure you get a PDF of it for free. That is how committed we are to getting non-D&D5e RPGs into people’s hands. Here is an invite link.

where are characters from the first Hades game now, and some other character-centric theories:
inspired by this post by @thebuttsmcgee
so from the technical test gameplay stream we learned that Chronos straight up took over the underworld and kidnapped not only Hades, but Zagreus and Persephone too. out of the underworlders from the first game, Charon is still doing his thing in secret, Skelly returns in a new coat, the Wretched Broker is back too, and Hypnos is the only other guy from the House who's hiding at Hecate's hub, but he's also fast asleep...
personally, i think Hypnos might be cursed or something like that. Chronos using Hypnos's schtick against him? lose time by sleeping through it all? or maybe he just wakes up a bit later. hell, maybe he's always asleep during the test but not the final game because he would've dropped a spoiler or something.
so what about the rest?
assuming they're not all imprisoned somehow,
-Nyx and Thanatos: they could've fled to Chaos. a narrator's note at the Crossroads says that it houses 'those still loyal to lord Hades', but doesn't necessarily say 'all of them'. Nyx visits Chaos in the first game once their relationship is mended, and like the post i linked said, Than would've probably tried to protect the family and the House for as long as he could. but in the face of no other option, i think Chaos would be a viable place to flee to for the two of them, out of Chronos's reach similarly to the Crossroads. Than also visits the surface though, so maybe he'll show up at the Crossroads at some point? maybe in a plot point, trying to help Mel free Zag and the fam? both of them are important enough to warrant an appearance.
-the Furies: my idea is that all three of them were forced to serve Chronos. they're a very important part of security and upkeep down there, i think he would've wanted the realm's employees on his side. i don't however think they're going to be the bossfight between Asphodel and Tartarus. they, or Meg alone, should have some presence however.
-Sisiphus: it would be kinda cute if the furies went behind Chronos's back and helped to tuck Sisiphus away somewhere safe, given that he is loyal to Zag/the family and maybe that'd mean they were ordered to torture him again. depends on what Chronos's rule over the underworld looks like for the different shades there, but Melinoë speaks to the few that hang around at Crossroads in an almost comforting manner, so i imagine Chronos is trying to rule by fear and get shades on his side that way. Bouldy's gonna be sad, but fine. i hope. but at least a mention would be nice.
-Achilles and Patroclus (and Theseus&Asterius): ...they're probably separated again, aren't they... brainstorming now, i like (pain and) the idea that they're both in Elysium, just not together. because i think Elysium would've risen up as an army of sorts trying to oppose Chronos, given it's all warriors and heroes. separated by war. Nemesis having Stygius with her makes me believe Achilles could be wielding Varatha. additionally, Theseus being forced to step up and put his vanity aside, delicious idea i think. also, Mel arriving to this supposed paradise only to find it in a desolate state. all of them, i think, should be at the very least mentioned too.
-Orpheus and Euridice: they could be both hiding or imprisoned or forced to serve, but. what if this time it's Euridice who's looking for Orpheus. he's at the house and at Chronos's whim, while she makes it to the Crossroads and asks Mel for help. it'd be a shame if they were never heard from again.
-Cerberus: probably locked up with the fam :( orrr he's running wild all around the realm and Chronos is literally incapable of taming him. that would've been fun. Cerberus bossfight tho... nah. no way he wouldn't see something familiar in Mel. but it could be fun too if done right. he definitely has to reappear.
-Dusa: wild theory time but she's hiding in the rafters, spying on Chronos. :D. if the situation is much more dire, she's either also forced to serve, or even banished into Asphodel to be with the other gorgon heads. either way i think she'll pop up again in some capacity.
-House Contractor, Head Chef, Resource Director: probably unwillingly continuing their jobs under Chronos's rule. although the chef might've lost his job, depends if Chronos like, eats normal food. well mostly onions and fish but still. alternatively, the chef will also show up at Crossroads like the Wretched Broker does.
-THE GOOD SHADE from Elysium: okay war hero good shade arc when? i'm sorry, but i love them.
some other ideas, theories and wishes:
-the obvious one is Hera, like many others i also hope she will appear as a major boon giver.
-i have a feeling, however, that Hermes might not. it seems a bit that Artemis and Selene are filling up his role as the little bit specific boon giver, but maybe i'm wrong. Artemis provides crit boons just like in the first game and Selene has a bit more of a Chaos vibe to her. let's see.
-i do think, or would like it if, Chaos shows up, but not as a boon giver. but i believe they would definitely have something to say about Chronos's actions.
-back to Hermes though... there's that sealed staircase that leads upwards from the Crossroads. people have already been theorizing this, but there might seriously be a section of the game taking place on Olympus, or at the very least somewhere under it. still, i don't think Hermes would be a boon giver either if he does appear. i would however like to see him interact with Charon.
-the Fates will, i think, remain obscure, even if Moros has more of a connection to them. maybe they'll be mentioned and explored a bit more, but i wouldn't count on them appearing by themselves.
-i would however like to see at least one more of Nyx's kids. originally, i also hoped Erebus himself ever shows up personified, but i like what they've done with it as a place.
Eris is i'd say the biggest contender, given that she's namedropped in the first game through a weapon aspect and a purchasable item. maybe she's even boss material (again, if Nemesis has the sword, Eris may wield the rail).
-same thinking can be applied to Ariadne (she lives with Dionysus on Olympus, does she not?), Talos (giant robot made by Hephaestus, how cool is that), and Lamia (snake lady with personal history with Zeus and Hera, would even make for a cool boss too i think, although i always viewed her as a more melancholic figure. but i'm just spitballing here). there are also Atlas, Prometheus and other names on Charon's many items, those are less likely to make an appearance imo.
-Talos also obviously has a weapon aspect in the first one, and then there's Chiron. in myth, he is the son of Chronos. the juiciness of that situation, given he has a relationship with Achilles and Patty as well... perhaps he'll be Elysium's miniboss in the spirit of Asterius? or straight up a main boss? or actually a friendly? i really hope they did something with him, the potential is so very there.
-i think Daedalus will remain present just in name and spirit.
-now that i'm on the weapons though, for all we know there might not be such a thing as weapon aspects (at least not tied to specific figures) in Hades 2, but if there are, including hidden aspects, i'd like to see nods to more of other world mythologies/histories/cultures, like Egyptian, Japanese, pre-columbian American or Slavic.
-this brings me to keepsakes and companion plushies, if they're in the game at all and if so, who gives them out.
keepsake-wise, beside the olympians, Hecate is obvious, as well as Odysseus, and Nemesis and Moros are too. Arachne and Skelly also. Charon seems likely, so does Dora. maybe Hypnos if/when he wakes up. Selene, probably.
i'd say, if companions are a thing, it's also up to Nemesis and Moros, Odysseus, maybe Hecate, likely Arachne, and if there's 6 of them like last time, the final one will be from either Dora or someone we haven't seen yet. or Hecate doesn't give one (she's pretty op for a summon) but Skelly does.
-this also ties into romance! it's been deduced a long time ago, right when the trailer came out, that Nemesis and Moros are very likely romanceable. i also see the appeal and potential of romancing Dora, and from the technical test, i like Melinoë's friendship with Artemis. Hypnos's presence at the Crossroads is interesting from this point too, but i wouldn't guess he'll be romanceable if/when he wakes up.
there are more details to speculate about, especially in gameplay and resources (boss room rewards! the equivalent of nectar/ambrosia to give characters!) but i wanted to keep this mainly about the npcs.
honestly curious what other people are saying!

As bad as it would be in Slytherin and think you've won the house cup only for in the same breath Dumbledore to give 16o hous points to Gryffindor and have them win, I think I'd actually be more pissed as someone from Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Maybe that's because I am a Hufflepuff, but imagine you're a normal student, not Harry Potter or his friends, not Draco or his friends, just a normal Hogwarts student. You follow all the rules, attend every class, earn house points, complete every assignment, basically do everything you're supposed to do. Meanwhile you notice Gryffindor constantly breaking rules constantly, to the point of losing 150 house points in 1 night. You don't really know the details about that but it happened. and then it's the end of year feast, Harry and his friends have broken the rules again and murdered a teacher, but the teacher was associated with Voldemort and he technically saved the school (though the stone would've been just as fine where it was, considering only people who don't want to use it can have it or something like that), Slytherin has won, you might be a bit annoyed but there's no real house rivalry there and they earned the points the same as you, so you're fine with that. and then in that feast 3 people from gryffindor, the first years who broke a ton of rules and murdered a teacher, are given 50 points each, and another first year is given 10 points for standing up to his friends or something. suddenly Gryffindor, who I'm pretty sure were last, have won the house cup and everyone else has moved down a spot. Gryffindor's thrilled, they would be, they won. But everyone else, all the other students from the other houses, if i was one of them i'd be pissed regardless of what House i was in, but especially if i'm in the House that has now come last. Seriously? I know what they did was a good thing, but they still broke rules, so they still got 50 points despite that. and, if you know Dumbledore is a Gryffindor, everything just starts to seem worse . and the other Heads of House. oh yeah, Snape would be angry, i would be too, because, as head of house, i know Slytherin isn't all bullies and racists, because ambitious and cunning does not equal evil necessarily, those aren't always negative traits and they can be used for good, and I know how hard my Slytherins have worked to win those house points. but as the hufflepuff or Ravenclaw Head of House i'd be just as pissed. whether he meant to or not, when Dumbledore gave all those points to Gryffindor in the feast, which was already a dick move, that wasn't just a fuck you to Slytherin. It was a fuck you to Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff too, who are now third and fourth respectfully. who cares if you follow the rules and do everything you're supposed to do? here's famous Harry Potter, saving the school, and breaking every rule in the process. Gryffindor wins, fuck the rest of you. I don't think Dumbledore fully intended it, but as a student who isn't in Gryffindor and is just a normal kid basically, that's how i'd feel. what's the point in doing all these things and winning all these points if, at the last minute, Dumbledore can turn around and be like "psych Gryffindor wins"? honestly, fuck Dumbledore for that. I want the fic where after that, everyone who isn't Dumbledore just slowly stops trying, where every other House starts to dislike Dumbledore, and maybe even the Golden Trio because, when you show favouritism, that's what happens. Those who aren't in Slytherin hate Snape because he bullies children and b he shows favouritism to Slytherin, rightfully so. You think some wouldn't start to dislike Dumbledore for the same reason of favouritism, and on top of that they got these points for putting themselves in danger which, as 11 year olds they shouldn't have had to do. in second year, while Lucius does threaten some people to sign to have Dumbledore removed, some do it of their own accord, fearing that their children will put themselves in danger to earn house points, in an attempt to save people.
sure, extreme case, but for some of these students, they're still quite young, so when you award this many points for saving the school, some students may go well i may not be able to save the school but i can save other people, even just individuals. and yet Dumbledore still, knowingly or not, shows a level of favouritism to Gryffindors and especially the Weasleys and golden Trio. Ginny opens the chamber of secrets? oh she was mind controlled. yes she was, we know she was, did they prove this to the government or did the government just take Dumbledore's word for this. It was Lucius, he gave her the diary. yes he did you still need proof though. they probably do just take Dumbledore's word for it. look i'm not saying Dumbledore is evil, or means for this to happen. I'm fairly neutral towards him, don't like him, don't hat him either. But if i was a non-Gryffindore student, any blind adoration or worship would have worn off in this instant, so when i then continue to be in danger every year i'm at school after that, i don't necessarily trust him or believe i'll be safe just because he says so, especially if i'm a slytherin and, after hearing there's a troll in the dungeon, i'm sent to my common room... in the dungeon. as a slytherin, i don't, can't, trust Dumbledore to keep me safe. as a Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, i just feel like i wasn't even considered. Oh Gryffindor won, but Slytherin was still second and suddenly I'm last. and if this was done before the feast it would feel less like a massive fuck you, but one of these kids got 50 points for playing chess. oh i hate it, i didn't realise how much this moment pissed me off on behalf of every House that isn't Gryffindor. and i feel like in the movie, they show Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff being happy for Gryffindor or not caring but there were at least some Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws who were pissed. i know there were

asks, you say? Give us all your vampire!Bojan AU thoughts that you haven't had a chance to share yet :)
Ooh now this is going to be good
You had already very briefly touched upon the topic of magic and I sorta spun (spun haha) the idea a bit further.
Hunters heal faster and are generally more difficult to harm. That's why bloodlines and therefore heritage are so important in hunter society. It is genetic, inheritable. You are born a hunter, quite literally, because your body is already different from a normal humans. If it wasn't their training would hardly be survivable.
That's not necessarily magic. It may have been once upon a time and then got passed down generation by generation but nowadays it is simply genetics.
Now the dressmakers, that's another story. I imagine they are not the only ones that know about magic but they use it in the most practical sense. The weave it into clothes and dresses. To make them more durable, to make them clean easier and so on. No one really thinks much about it. Hunters are more durable and so are their clothes. Simple as that.
Or is it?
Magic isn't really talked about, not in the sense of openly sharing knowledge. People know it's there but not what it exactly is. That knowledge is reserved for those who practise it. The dressmakers make clothes with threads and fabrics that are a bit more durable, a bit lighter. The blacksmiths who make weapons that cut a little more, make wounds bleed longer, are lighter than they should be. Magic is practical. It's not something mystic and it is mostly certainly not something you use to aid yourself. It's something to use for the community, for the hunters guild. And disobeying that very rule is not something that has ever happened, should ever happen. Loyalty to no one but the hunters, or rather the council.
Those who generally know a thing or two about magic, those who make the dresses, those who make the weapons, those who heal the sick and wounded, they aren't 'true hunters'. Their blood not pure enough, body not strong enough to survive as a hunter. Those who are unworthy of carrying that esteemed title. They are the ones who know.
And while they are kept away from a hunters life, hunters a kept away from them. Because a person who has both - hunter genes and knowledge - that's something the council won't have. Because it would be dangerous, they say, things should follow the natural order and be kept separate, they say. But what hides behind those grand words is one simple thing: fear. Because a person with both, now that would shake the very fundament of hunter society.
And then you have Jan. Jan who is a hunter, a bride. The highest of blood, perfect bloodline, born for this one purpose.
And he knows how to sew.
Nothing out of the ordinary, hunters need to know the basics of taking care of their equipment. But Jan didn't learn to sew from his teachers, he learned to sew from the dressmakers, learned from the seamstresses who spun threads strong enough to keep swords from cutting through fabric, who made fabrics lighter than feathers and stronger than steel, who made cloth that didn't move with the wind as silent as a fox in the night. He wasn't supposed to know and they weren't supposed to teach. But still they did and little Jan came home more than once with bleeding fingers, cut on threads stronger than steal, threads spun so fast they burned hotter than fire.
No one noticed because he knew and he knew how to hide it.
So that's my take on the more magical side of this AU

So obviously Vamp and I have been tearing our hair out since last night trying to make sense of this new direction of the Darby/Nick/Fox/Christian/Lucha storyline, mostly because it just doesn't line up with everything else anymore, and finally we were like the most obvious reasoning tends to be the correct one, which means it isn't supposed to make sense because it no longer does. I really think that we were correct in that Darby was originally planned to win the TNT belt last weekend, and they changed the plans; this is why it feels like the story took a hard right turn. Because it did LOL.
One of those things that always ends up tripping me up is remembering that these stories are living, breathing ecosystems that can and do change at a moment's notice for a wide variety of reasons. So when you try to use the old pieces to justify the newest parts, they don't match. This is why Christian's focus swung around to Darby instead of Nick, where it had been, and why the comms didn't match the acting (Vamp pointed out that comms kept saying Nick was so mad at Darby for Fox, but!! Where?? Their Wed match undid all of that in one fell swoop!). But it's worth noting that most of the time when a storyline changes, they pivot away and leave things sort of just open. They haven't done that here. For whatever reason, despite Darby not being anywhere near the TNT belt anymore, all our players (minus Swerve) are in a holding pattern. They aren't shifting the story to something else, they are filling time and keeping everyone exactly where they were.
This means that most likely last weekend's outcome was changed, and as far as we can tell, there would only be two reasons for them to scrap that and push it later, which we assume they are since Christian cannot seem to stop getting all up in Darby’s business. (We thought originally that Darby was actually injured, and so they changed a potential title run, but I think he's proven that isn't the case.)
The first reason would be them pushing Darby’s win to WrestleDream, since it's in Seattle. I wouldn't necessarily put it past TK to do this, but it felt VERY short notice since Darby was literally doing a press tour two days before the PPV. We can't rule it out. They could easily be keeping them in this holding pattern because it got shifted a month later, even though I really don't see why anything would matter that much since Darby’s shot at the TNT title came a ridiculous 6 weeks after he "won" it anyway. (We have thoughts on why that happened, too.) BUT. You know. TK doesn't sleep for like 5 days and fucking invents new PPVs, so, anything is possible. 🤣 Maybe someone decided this was SUPER IMPORTANT, idk.
The second reason to push a storyline out and keep everyone in a holding pattern is because a player you need is unavailable at present. And as far as we can tell, there is only one person out who would be important to this storyline. (Swerve has, at this point, exited the narrative, as he has moved on to Adam Page.) Initially, we toyed with Fox not going to London having changed things, but he is right back in the story where they probably wanted him, and his lack of involvement doesn't explain why Christian and Lucha are inexplicably still tied to this. To be completely honest, we can't make this fucking story work without Jack. We have no other options!!! Everything else has been struck!! WHY.
I suspect we are going to see more of this holding pattern? And obviously we have gone through a lot of what this means for Nick, what this means for Darby, etc etc. But, man, what a wrench this threw in our theory crafting. It really took us awhile to just be like NOTHING HOLDS ANYMORE BECAUSE SOMETHING CHANGED.
I assume Vamp will be along shortly to add to this. There's some weeeeird pieces that don't line up with actual histories (like Christian taunting Darby that he will never have a belt when... Darby is the longest running TNT champion?) but DO line up with the parallels they seem to be running, so it's kind of a mess. I'm thinking that we are putting 10x more hours into this than they are. 🤣

as a fellow Æon Flux enjoyer i would like to know what some of your favorite parts were? :^)
OOOO there's a lot to love about this show so I've made bullet points on some of the aspects I like most!
I love the dialogue. I've seen people tout the idea that the short mini-eps are the true version of the show (and I do love those, they're such a cool observation of animation), but I love how they changed the tone when they shifted to half hour episodes and the dialogue in many of those episodes is so distinctive. It doesn't explain away anything, it adds another layer of mystery to everything. I love the way characters speak in this show :)
I love how seriously the show takes itself. There aren't very many adult animated shows that aren't dark comedies or satire in some way, or being a spin-off of something else. This show is really unique in those ways of building a world, characters, culture completely unique to itself. That's not to say there aren't very clear inspirations for the show–but it's a show that goes to lengths to build it's own rules and tone and I still haven't found anything like it in more recent adult animated shows. Aeon Flux still has moments you're supposed to laugh, but that's secondary to the world and character they're exploring.
The show is really queer! Obviously that's not the be all end all of a good show, but it's also nice that Aeon is a properly bisexual character, that they have characters androynous and agender entirely. It's cool.
The show is very dedicated to not explaining itself and I think it's one of it's strong points. We never learn anything about Aeon's past, or Trevor's, or anyone elses. We never learn how Aeon and Trevor first meet. We never learn how Brenga and Monica came to be. You have to draw your own conclusions.
Thinking always of Trevor feeding Aeon spaghetti when they catch her and she criticises the chef for making a bad sauce. She's <3
Every place Aeon is shown living in should be on r/malelivingspaces what's wrong with her.
Absolutely nobody in the show is normal. They're all freaks. It's a world populated by absolute fucking freaks.
Insane that Trevor just fucking strips in the first full length episode. What's wrong with him.
Aeon is portrayed as being much more patient with most woman than men. It's a small character detail but I appreciate it. The only exception is Rordy, and I think her accidentally murdering his girlfriend is the main reason for that tenderness, because it's not something she shows normally.
I love all the BDSM aesthetics. If the reboot that allegedly is still being made (suspicious) doesn't include them, I'll be so upset! Would I call Aeon Flux as a show sex positive? Not necessarily but it's a very neutral thing in it's worldbuilding and it's almost used to humanise Aeon at certain moments, make her seem more real than the assassin persona she has. She's a weird dominatrix assassin hellbent on either murdering or dominating some weird dictator who wants to be benevolent soso bad but unfortunately he sucks

Are age gaps always a bad thing? Is it possible to be at a different 'level' from someone else your own literal age?
I'm 21 but I really don't feel it. Many of my friends are very mature and know what they're doing with their lives but I don't. I feel several years behind everyone else and, in terms of experience, I am. I got out of a cult that forbade a lot of normal teen stuff and tried to have more experiences, then covid hit and my pre-existing health condition-having self avoided people like the plague. I worry that by the time I feel ready for a relationship, everyone my age will be too far ahead of me.
One of my friends is 19. They dated a 17 year old. This is the kinda relationship antis start shit over when it's fictional. I think it's probably fine - I can believe that a 17yo is a bit more mature and a 19yo is a bit more immature. But some of my friends seem bothered by it so I'm not sure what I should think.
What is normal and okay?
--
Many people feel out of step with their supposed peers. Age gaps aren't inherently bad, but I don't necessarily think they're the answer to feeling out of step.
What is normal and okay are relationships that are healthy for the people involved. These are relationships that respect boundaries and provide support and positive feelings for both/all parties. That's how you judge health, not absolute metrics like age.
I'm sorry I can't give you a clear-cut rule. I know how difficult it is to just "trust your gut" if your instincts were honed in a cult. Your internal compass is all wonky. (You'd be surprised how many people I know who were raised in cults.)
17 and 19 is commonplace. It's only in the rarefied atmosphere of tumblr and such that people think it's a problem. I have no idea if your friends' relationship is healthy or not without knowing them.
For you at 21, I get feeling behind, but I wouldn't go for someone significantly younger, personally. If you're in college, dating another college student makes sense, but I wouldn't date anyone not yet in college.
Instead, I would look for other people who also feel out of step. Hell, I might look for someone older who's gone through what you're going through. It's not only cults that do it: an illness or a tragedy in the family can put people "behind" in similar ways. Neurotic perfectionist types also just tend to feel behind because they think they should have it all figured out by now.
But nobody actually has it figured out. Sorry.
It's fine to go sow some wild oats and recreate some of the teen experiences that you missed, but don't imagine that even people with "regular" adolescences all had the Hollywood version of everything. Sometimes, you imagine you're missing out on a lot more than you actually are. It's not about the experiences: it's about your feelings of incompleteness. Sometimes, you fix it by going out and getting those experiences. Sometimes, you fix it by working on the feeling themselves.
I do think there can be ages where it feels like everyone else is getting married and doesn't want to go out partying or like everyone settled down before you and nobody worth having is left when you want to settle down yourself, but that shit tends to be in your late 30s, and it's still a mistake to take a general tendency as a rule for your own life. Plenty of individual people settle down or still want to party at any age.
21 is a tough age because every year or two feels like a huge gap. But even by 25 and certainly by 30, it stops being like that. There just isn't that much difference between a bunch of adult coworkers. I know plenty of people who got together with somebody 20 years older but who was a hobby or work peer. And sure, occasionally, it's some old person creeping on nubile young things because they're a jackass, but just as often, it's reasonable adults connecting because they have things in common.
Most people's 40s are a fuckton better than their 20s, no matter what media tells you. Tumblr is full of people wondering when the lies on TV will come true in their 20-something lives. The pandemic derailed so many people's plans too. You're much less alone than it feels.
It's normal to feel at sea in a world that's on fire. Give it a couple of years, dude. Nobody has it figured out anyway, but especially nobody has it figured out in 2022.

Weddings in Evelow
I was inspired by my recent post about a morgan and avery wedding, and kind of a soft sequel to my funerals in evelow post, (and that post's sequel post lol)
Unfortunately I don't have accompanying pictures, so this is just text-heavy. I'll try to make it legible.
There's two main types of weddings in Evelow. Political and Ceremonial. In the eyes of Law, being married is being married, but the motivation can obviously dictate how the wedding is going to go.
I use 'Law' with a capital 'L' because marriage can translate among other societies. if you got married in Evelow, you're seen as married everywhere else.
Weirdly enough, political marriages are just as common as ceremonial ones ? Though it's much more likely for people to live with people they care about, there's also less incentive to get married. Whereas political marriages have that obvious ploy.
Political weddings are more hands on with the entire family. The parents get more of a say in the planning, it's much more structured and comprised of speeches and vows. Despite this, they are not boring. There's usually a banquet, the city hall is rented out, and people are still expected to have fun and dress up.
Political weddings aren't just for the councilmen, as there's many senators, department heads, and high-status figures who take advantage of uniting families. Some common folk have even rose to power through marriage, so they don't rule themselves out lol.
Ceremonial weddings are less structured, though they still require planning, as these parties also want to invite lots of people and rent a venue, and all that fun stuff. There's more celebration than vow reading, but like everything else ever, this varies depending on who's getting married.
Long engagements are more common. In fact, it's considered bad luck to get married quickly after an engagement. It's not a real superstition, (Evelonians aren't typically superstitious) but it doesn't stop people from side-eyeing a short engagement. (I didn't say Evelonians weren't judgmental lol)
One of the most complicated manners is finding an officiator for the wedding. It has to be a witness approved by all parties being invited, and while that sounds easy enough, it's considered a great honor and a lot of pressure.
The reason this is complicated is because this officiator can be the only one to claim witness to a divorce. If the officiator is unavailable for this, then you can go to the council to plead for divorce. (You can also go to the council as witness to marriage if there's no one else to go to, but that's not fun.)
Weddings typically last the entire day. The people to be married are together throughout it all, and while the wedding party doesn't necessarily have to be at their side, the witness/officiator does, until they declare marriage, then they can leave their side.
Declaration of marriage is usually at the end of the night, but sometimes people want to get the declaration done earlier so that they can party as married people after.
Despite this being Evelow, the city that loves records, there isn't as much pressure for people to talk and give speeches at weddings, save for the people getting married and the witness. (see my funeral post, in which it's encouraged for everyone to say something) The only reason there's less pressure is that the people are alive, so nothing really needs to be preserved. Plus, most people are here to celebrate, they get kind of tired after the first five toasts.
Everyone is encouraged to dress up as extravagant as they can. In political weddings its a bad look to dress humble. But, to be fair, they're also the ones more likely to have a grander wardrobe, so this judgment isn't really passed onto smaller ceremonial weddings where some people just don't have the resources to dress extravagant.
Party members aren't expected to give gifts, but those getting married are supposed to give each other a gift. It's supposed to be expensive meaningful and this can be difficult for people who are getting married for love, as they kind of already shared a lot of their gifts with one another. (in fact, if you plan to get married early in a relationship, many people have held off on grand gestures for this reason.)
There isn't a lot of activities before the day of the wedding, like bridal showers or rehearsals. Planning ? Yeah sure a lot of it, but all the fun stuff is saved for the big day itself. I mentioned in the Morgan/Avery post they probably had a shared getaway weekend with their friends, but I also don't think bachelor parties are a thing either.
Rings aren't required, but I do think some form of jewelry is custom to showcase a marriage. Rings are the most common, but anklets, necklaces, and even a new piercing can show up. They usually look the same between those that are getting married. (so it's not like the bride gets the diamond ring and groom gets the standard band. It's both diamond or both band, baby !) People can get as creative or as fancy as they want though.
idk if I'm missing anything ? Let me know if anyone wants to know more, a lot of this is still a work in progress, despite weddings very much existing in Evelow !

Code: July Day 12 - Hopeless
There's no way I'm getting all the ones I want to done in July at this point, so you'll probably see a few stragglers posted in the next couple weeks.
This one's based on the prologue of the fangame IFSCL, but since the whole story isn't out yet I've kind of taken my own spin on it. The premise should mostly explain itself, at least.
And no, I'm not doubling this up with day 30's prompt, because I want to actually show them being happy for that one.
...
13-04-2010
If you could live your life over again, what would you do differently?
It was one of those lofty questions you only got in philosophy questions or as essay prompts to judge your character. Jeremie had always hated that, the kind of question that has no right answer, a problem with no solution. It always leaves him flailing trying to figure out what he's supposed to say in response--he's much more comfortable with math and science, where things aren't necessarily simpler, but every consistent action has a specific result. Two plus two always equals four. Baking soda and vinegar always makes carbon dioxide.
Even in the quantum sciences where there was far more uncertainty, he still held the belief that it all fit into a paradigm people just hadn't figured out yet. Time moves in a straight line, unless it doesn't, according to some rule that hadn't yet been discovered.
Computers, most of all. If you delete something (really delete it, not just your grandma wiping the Recycle Bin), it should be irretrievable.
If you could do things over again. It was supposed to be a hypothetical. But all the laws he knows have already fallen to pieces--and behind it, he's forced to face that question in a terrifyingly real way.
It's hard for him to read the flickering blue display on the screen across the room with one of his glasses' lenses rendered a useless conflagration of spiderweb cracks. 30...20 seconds left, maybe? Jeremie could've force-executed the special RTTP immediately, of course, but he hadn't been able to bring himself to enter the last command. Did that make him a coward? It's not like an extra minute would make much of a difference.
Maybe he should've known this was coming the moment he'd looked into the news article, and the strange events that had immediately followed.
Dr. Hugh Tyron found dead in his home...asphyxiated...no signs of struggle...under posthumous investigation for cyberterrorism and possession of confidential documents and technology. The name had struck Jeremie as vaguely familiar, like he'd seen it in passing, and a bit of digging revealed a paper trail perfectly parallel to Waldo Schaeffer and the other members of Project Carthage he'd managed to identify.
Immediately after the article, those other members began dying one after another, in either a set of serial murders or horrific accidents usually involving power lines or out-of-control industrial equipment.
Mr. Delmas had, out of the blue, sent a friendly email to Jeremie asking about info security--apparently, the Kadic school records had been breached and he was concerned about student safety, but had no idea where to start in upgrading their outdated systems.
A fire had broken out at the old Renault factory, putting it back on the city's radar and resuming talks of demolition.
A prolonged blackout had struck the entire city of Valence, France, where Jeremie's parents lived and where he would've still been at the time if he hadn't left for college in America a couple of weeks early.
Twelve times, they'd tried again to destroy it. Twelve times, they'd succeeded, but got less and less of a reprieve, had less and less hope. It only figured that number thirteen was the unlucky one.
And now, here he is, running the last resort RTTP, one so extreme none of them would remember anything once all was said and done. He wouldn't be doing it if he was completely hopeless--he was sure there had to have been something they could've done to prevent this outcome, maybe when XANA was weaker. But it's not like he'll be able to do much to change things, just relying on their scattered half-memories to guide them down another path. It's a long shot, but maybe it'll work. He has to believe that.
Jeremie wishes he'd had time to leave something behind for his younger self, a message or a bit of advice or something, but there's no way something like that would survive a RTTP as big as this one anyway, so he's left simply speculating to pass the last few seconds. He's probably going to miss his own perspective the most--because XANA had been big, yes, but so many things had seemed equally as big and scary back then when they just weren't, things as simple as talking to his friends or having a crush or telling the truth--dear god, he's going to have to come out all over again isn't he--
Maybe...maybe he would tell himself to spend more time with them, not to just save it for a later he hadn't been sure was coming. Not to get so worked up over little things, because he only ever got so annoyed because he was scared. Tell them more, in general. Several incidents could've been avoided like that.
Like William. That's one of the things that was obvious in hindsight--he wasn't angry at William, only a tiny bit of it had ever been at William. It was a whole mess of mistakes on everyone's part, but it wasn't William's fault that Jeremie had spent an entire summer break sulking and come back full of spite.
Yeah, Jeremie thinks, that's definitely one thing he'd want to change. He'd devirtualize William instead of freezing up and yelling at him uselessly. Maybe they'd be a little closer at the end.
He sees the counter hit single digits. He considers telling Yumi, on the other side of the door to the busted cargo elevator behind him, but decides against it. The whine from the mainframe, this time loud enough to be clearly audible two floors up, should be enough of an indicator.
Aelita's stuck upstairs. He wishes he could call her. He hopes she understands. He hopes that she can hope alongside him, because she's always been like that, even on her worst days.
Really, if anyone's going to figure out what's going on and how to stop XANA this time, it's going to be her, out of sheer stubbornness if nothing else. He can't hope to match that.
The whine reaches a fever pitch, but the air doesn't grow thick like he's used to it doing. He can move perfectly fine, without time seeming to slow to a crawl while his brain runs too fast to keep up.
A white light springs from the center of the laboratory, and Jeremie shields his eyes--but not fast enough to miss a flicker in the air in front of him.
It...is him, he realizes as he peeks out from in between his fingers. Younger and dumber and looking like he's staring into an oncoming train, but definitely himself. The elder tries to scramble to his feet, tries to wave a greeting, think of something to say, I'm sorry, I forgive you--but before he can get a word out his world goes green, then white in a shower of painful sparks.
09-10-2003
Jeremie lurches backwards, the weight of his own backpack nearly sending him tumbling. He grips onto the side of the bridge to steady himself and takes a moment to catch the breath he'd suddenly lost.
What had that been just now, on the other side of the bridge, looking at him?
He rubs his eyes with the heel of a hand, glancing over to where he'd seen it, but...the stranger who'd been standing there is nowhere to be seen.
"What was that?...I really need to get some sleep."
For a moment, he looks over his shoulder, considering going back and telling Maya. But--that's dumb, what's he even supposed to say to her, that he'd had a weird dream? He hadn't even explained those to her properly yet. Besides, once he got the remote connection set up, he would be able to talk to her whenever he wanted--and as of right now, he'd be in enough trouble if he got caught outside of the dorms.
He ignores the chill down his spine, or the sudden weight on his shoulders, as he hops down the ladder to the waterways where he'd parked his scooter.
(A boy sits bolt upright, whipping his head around towards the other bed in his room with a long-since-dulled venom on his tongue for being woken up--but then he remembers that he's never had a roommate.)
(A girl presses her ear to her doorway, but she doesn't hear her parents arguing. So why can't she sleep? She checks her phone out of habit, but that's stupid. No one ever calls her. And--she likes it that way, doesn't she?)
(A boy--or at least they think they must be a boy, at the time--scrambles about trying to keep a small, hyperactive dog from destroying a hotel room so he can get a few seconds of peace to call his family and let him know he'd gotten there safe, despite already knowing the call's going to go to voicemail. He really hopes whoever he's rooming with will be cool about dogs.)
(An older boy's in the middle of writing his twenty-sixth love letter that night when his stomach suddenly drops out from under him and his eyes sting with frustrated tears. He sits back in his chair, stares out the window, and decides he's done enough work on his little project for one night.)
(A virtual girl lies on her back and stares up towards the vanishing point of the datastream far above, suddenly convinced that there must be an infinite amount of life to live beyond it, despite having no evidence. She does not know that world. She has never known it. So how can she miss it with such ferocity?)
(And a blond with broken glasses opens his eyes to find white as far as he can see, except for a line at the horizon where a rainbow sits like a smeary soap bubble, as if the light itself has slowed enough to split into its constituent colors--or, perhaps, he was moving too fast. He slumps down against a door that isn't there anymore, realizing abruptly that he is both Schrodinger and the cat, in one place and time and another, existing and not existing.
He settles in for a millisecond that will last an eternity. But perhaps, if he goes unobserved, he can be in that other place, just for a moment.
And if that's right, he vows to do whatever he can to fix the odds, this time.)

Headcanon: Charlie's role as a royal
((I'm on mobile so this may be disjointed and formatted oddly. But it is what it is.))
While it's not like Charlie was born for specific purpose, there is a role that she was essentially raised to fill, either intentionally or not. It's not like she was necessarily raised to rule Hell since Lucifer and Lilith aren't exactly going to die of old age.
Lucifer mainly dealt with Heaven and then the Sins. Because while the Sins' origin in the Hellaverse is a bit vague, some lines indicate they've been around since Creation, ie. Before Charlie. Lilith was the one to mainly dealt with the Sinners, winning them over with her charms and music.
So where does that leave Charlie?
Well, considering the pictures showing interactions with the von Eldritch family, I think that gives us a clue. Charlie's role was to be the more regal face of things. See, while the Sins rule their own Rings, the nobles, seem to both a part of that but also not. From Helluva Boss, it seems that the Sins are certainly higher ranked than them, but it's hard to explain where my mind is vibing with that. I don't get the impression that they view the Sins as the end-all-be-all. Higher ranked, but still colleagues as it were. I may be wrong on that, but at the very least, I think they would want some kind of activity from Lucifer's family as active royalty.
THAT is where Charlie comes in. Frankly, her skillet and personality make her an ideal hostess. She would easily be the kind of social royal to satisfy the nobles while the actual goings on are tended to by the Sins of their given Ring. Charlie is the glue that holds it together. She would be throwing parties, forming bonds with the younger nobles (since it seems that they may have a lifespan, even if it is very long, it isn't limitless) so that by the time those younger members become heads of their houses, they have very close and powerful ties to the Morningstars.
The kinds of things they value in connections and how they view power is very different than the Sinners of the Pride Ring. I think this is at least part of why Charlie has such a hard time breaking through with them. It's the divide between Old Money and New Money, basically. Charlie knows how to handle the Old Money crowd, but not the New Money folks.
We only see her struggling because she's in a realm that has been Lilith's this whole time until she just vanished. I see the kinds of things Charlie is doing as exactly the kinds of things that would work with the nobles. Go on TV to promote a charity cause? Nobles eat that shit up if it means social points in the philanthropist column! Trying to make sure everyone is getting along and having a good time? Very much hostess behavior.
I'd love to do a thread that highlights this, by the way. Something that shows her in her element and competent. She knows the families or hidden messages on things the nobles say. The song and dance of the "when they say this, you're supposed to respond like this" etc.

GET TO KNOW NEO
name — Neo and on some other blogs An-chan
pronouns— She/her
preferred comms — I get webhooks alerts to replies and asks, and tumblr very rarely alerts me to ims, but it is available to those who prefer communications via tumblr. Discord is the most reliable.
name of muse — Haru Miura on this blog and many more that i'm too lazy to list out on other blogs.
experience in RP — Around 16 years I think. Crazy as it is, I started out on Quizilla when you used to be able to message people. Then I moved to a proboards site when a friend invited me to join one she created. Was there for a long time. Dabbled a bit in RP'ing with a group on DeviantArt. Did a bit of skype rp from there. Then I moved to tumblr rp. I may have attempted to dabble in discord RP and ye- it's not exactly for me, but I can do it. I hate feeling limited though.
best experiences— Any iteration of: "You know, you made me change my mind on how I see Haru." Truly, the biggest serotonin boost I'd ever need in life. This is my goal in life. What I aspire to do with my writing. Not RP, but I got a Haru hater to like Haru after reading a few of my fics years back. You thought you were going to hate read and give hate? Jokes on you, I OPENED YOUR EYES.
pet peeves/dealbreakers — If you've reposted fanart without credit nor permission and i've talked to you about it and you dismissed my concerns about reposting fanart, i'll instantly block you. It's in my rules for a reason. Tho- I suppose that's just breaking my rules so maybe it doesn't count as a dealbreaker?
Not necessarily a peeve but more of a turn off, but I really don't like it when someone has the repeat energy of 'No one would want to rp with me, I don't see why I bother,' 'Did anyone miss me? No? Okay' etc. It probably sounds petty of me, but I don't like it. It dismisses the efforts of those who have been trying to connect to you, and I come onto tumblr to have fun, so I don't want to come here and feel bogged down. The energy actually disheartens me and brings my own mood down because I end up sympathizing with them too much. For the sake of my own mentality, I end up distancing myself.
muse preference ( fluff, angst, smut ) — I enjoy fluff and angst a lot. Smut... depends... on the muse... and relationships... and how comfortable I am with the mun. I'm big shy in general so it can take time to warm me up to talking about smut in regards to muses. Once I'm used to talking to you about it and i'm comfortable with you, i'm pretty open about it. Truly, I'm big on troll humor though, so crack humor kinda threads really have my heart. If you wanna talk smut with me, you gotta be the one to bring it up because 99.5% of the time, it won't be me bringing it up first.
IF we aren't shipping, then you better hope one day I even reblog a risque meme for you to inquire about it. I'm a lil wary about talking about it to begin with.
plot or memes — Plots, as some of us know that i'm not very keen on memes as my relationship with the inbox is not positive. Still working on it though, one blog at a time. Memes are fun when i'm in the mood for them. This goes for reblogging them or sending in to people.
long or short replies — Both are fine with me, and both are great in their own right. Long ones are nice as they give you a lot to explore but it also takes a while to reply to and it can tire me out. Short threads are short and simple. They're nice, and then you get me being suddenly inspired and whoops- suddenly it's a long thread. (short replies = 3 paragraphs in my mind).
best time to write — I'm finding myself to be more active in the night hours, so the PMs. I do tend to be high inspiration in the AMs, but i'm usually at work or low energy. So that's when I spend the time thinking of what i'll write and then stow those ideas for when I do have the energy.
are you like your muse?: I've been told that I'm very much like Haru, and it's mostly in some habits, i'd say. Haru is a way better human than I am. Fit for life. I, a dehydrated prune is not fit for life. We both share our troll heart, our tendency for conspiracy thoughts, dramatics, speaking in third person and such. Basically, consider me the unhealthy introvert AU for Haru.

I kinda can’t help but feel that Terry comes off as insatiable in his lust for Daniel in Mobverse lol. The years together don’t tame his constant desire. Sure, Daniel really enjoys sexytimes, but Terry is feral. It’s actually pretty surprising that they don’t have 15+ kids haha. I suppose Daniel had to put his foot down…Is this a Terry thing, or an Alpha thing? Do you feel that Alphas are more “insatiable” if they’re mated to an omega, vs. being mated to a beta? And since we’re on the topic—does Daniel ever initiate sex, or is it always Terry who makes that first move? Are Alphas more likely than omegas to “take charge” when they want to get laid?
A lot of omegaverse bedroom talk under the cut:
The way I see the omegaverse trope is:
Alphas are like hypermasculine macho and omegas are hyper feminine and caring by nature and the fun starts when you mix other genders with that. And then write in a few exceptions to those rules to confuse everyone... but yes, generally, as with Alphas and omegas this really is natural behaviour and not beaten into everyone in the "thou shalt conform to thy binary gender"- wars we call western culture. Alphas do take charge more and omegas are not very direct about it when they want sex, they seduce and hint and flirt more and that is how they're built.
Do Alphas want more sex when they're married to omegas.... no! It's just that they have the sex drive of young, very fit men in our society and generally they think about it a lot. The difference between Alphas and very masculine betas is that Alphas are naturally better able to have heat sex, which are marathon like sex sessions in almost every fic I've read, and they have different organs. And they like a certain sex act that betas can't accommodate but since a knot seemingly only ever forms during heats, they should be able to have other kinds of sex and have a lot of fun as well; after all, our men can't "knot" and that doesn't seem to deter many. So Alphas can have a lot of fun with betas as well, they simply are raised to think that they're missing something when they can't get an omega, same way our world is told that they're missing something when they can't have sex with the most beautiful people on the planet, or if one of the partners is very uncomfortable with a certain sex act. I don't think that's necessarily true, and I don't think omegas are to be pitied if their partner is beta. Alphas, betas and omegas can have sex with each other and the fact that a very Alpha/omega culture developed has little to do with what actually feels good in bed, and much more with humans being weird about anything that is scarce. Omegas are scarce in my world so Alphas and even betas think they "must" be better. They're just wired differently, and that fits some Alphas but not others. And some omegas want partners that aren't constantly so extra about everything.
And what if Terry is insatiable? Have you seen both of these characters? I don't care what universe you put them in, they fuck. They do. That's the vibe. Put them together and they fuck a lot and what of it? They're married. They're mated. It feels good. Daniel does make the first move at times, after giving birth or indeed when Terry seems to need some loving. Or when Daniel wants a distraction, or wants to try something new. Only he doesn't often have to do that because Terry... come on now, in canon he's almost 70 years old and everyone on Reddit still assumed that he must have fathered the entire cast of Cobra Kai. This character fucks. And I don't care what the church says! In fact, I think the church in omegaverse may be slightly less strongly against it, because I headcanon that omegaverse must have narrowly escaped complete extinction for Alphas and omegas to even evolve. That terror is in the fear response/lizard brain of every living person on this earth. Naturally, they're far less strongly opposed to sex than we are. It makes sense that our world is more cautious about sex across the board. It can kill you, either by disease or through pregnancy. Not that it definitely will but pregnant is a very vulnerable state to be in for us, plus, ya know, stds? But in my omegaverse, not having children is far more dangerous than being pregnant, at least where omegas are concerned. Betas are discouraged from having too many children but everyone is very strongly encouraged to raise children even if they didn't bear them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with loving sex and wanting 15+ kids, were it not that even omegas might have difficulty raising that many.
So, um, I think that this is a world in which Terry Silver would do what he does anyway ^^ and feel far, far, less conflicted about it (if he feels conflicted at all even in our world, which I am not sure of!).

This is more something I'm confused about. Is Maleficent still alive? We know that Malleus is her grandson, and his grandmother rules over Baire Valley. But one the other hand, aren't statues made to honour dead historical figures? Idk, just something that tripped me up.
As a follow up to this, I guess, how would the girls react to meeting Maleficent if she's still alive?
From what I understand, yes Maleficent is alive and the current queen of Briar Valley. But the seven are just supposed to be the greatest mages since the schools founding. Meaning not all of them are necessarily dead. In fact, I have been headcanoning maleficent being alive us exactly WHY the villians are so revered. She told their stories in positive lights which made people remember them as good and just instead of the bad guys. Fae are very long lived after all so it isn't so strange she would still be alive (ignoring that in sleeping beauty she gets a sword to the heart, were going to run on maleficent movie logic here)
As for the girls, even before coming to TWST and seeing how their history's were remembered I imagined they were all rather sympathetic to the disney villians. So no one would react badly I think, especially since she must not have done anything horrible since Aurora and Phillips time. So here is some brief over views
Val: amazed she's still alive and thinks she's cool
Kris: finds her to be an icon because she too would curse a bitch for not inviting her to a party
Anne: feels her level of spite on a spiritual level
Jude: gay panic. what? She had her childhood movie crushes.
Kim: wants to know how she's so tall and so feminine at the same time
Eva: gay panic part 2. But also she wants to see the dragon form
Fiona: wants to hug her and gush because she was her favorite villian and thought it was just cruel for the king and queen to invite even other fairies to the christening but not her. Sure she probably didn't need to curse a baby over it, but those are details. Also can she see the dragon form pretty please?
