Can we know more about Eden's trauma? I'm so into their story
Good question, anon :] tbh I've been pretty reluctant to go into too much detail about Eden's past on here, since even though he's a fictional character, the stuff that happened to him is more along the lines of "realistic fiction" - meaning that the mentioned events *can* occur in real life - and therefore could trigger real people who might've experienced anything similar.
BUT I think it should be fine, so long as I add a trigger warning. // TW for talk of: physical abuse, domestic violence, verbal abuse, death while in labor, murder, alcoholism, & a brief mention of hypothetical miscarriage. If any of the things listed trigger you, maybe don't read this one to be safe, ight? The short & sweet version is that Eden's father and stepmother are some stank bitches. and Eden's sister, Forrest's mother, & Eden's adoptive grandma are queens.
If you stuck around, here we go. (This is SUPER long, so I'm sorry ab that) Eden Ash Harmon's birth - February 5th, 2000 - was a long, painful, & ultimately fatal one for his mother, Lauren May Harmon. various complications occurred, and she ended up not even surviving long enough to get to see him draw his first breath. His father, Troy Harmon, was devastated over his wife's passing, and overwhelmed by the prospect of not only becoming a new parent, but now becoming a single parent. He had to grieve, whilst trying to raise Eden. which was even harder, because he was born prematurely and of course, smaller and weaker than normal, so he required a lot of extra care. This took a serious toll on him, and Troy began to unfortunately rely on alcohol - a reliance which only got worse over time, and developed into just alcoholism. By the time Eden was just three years old, his father had grown to resent him, and blame him for all of the struggles he faced. and by the time Eden was 4, he'd unfortunately begun expressing his resentment aloud. He'd say really nasty things like how he wished Lauren had just miscarried instead of giving her life to birth Eden, because he'd rather have his wife back than have Eden. To Eden's face. Both drunk, and sober. Making sure Eden knew exactly how much of a "burden" he was. Which, of course, was really harmful. Troy was also physically abusive toward him, doing things such as putting out cigarettes on his skin - the burn scars of which Eden still has to this day, though they're now more faint. Then, one day Troy brought home a woman called Sharon, and introduced the two to each other. It wasn't uncommon for Troy to bring women home for one-night-stands, but come to find out, Troy and Sharon had actually been dating for around three months before this introduction. Eden, at first, was honestly excited. He thought this meant his father would be happy again, and he may get a mother.
The first part seemed true for a while. Troy was much calmer than he'd previously been, but that didn't last. because Sharon soon got pregnant. Now Sharon was originally indifferent towards kids for the most part, and because of this, didn't become too close with Eden at the time, but she found herself wanting to keep the baby. The news of the pregnancy triggered Troy, and sent him into a panic. all of the memories of the day Eden was born and he lost his first wife, came flooding back. He didn't know how to handle this properly, and started to behave aggressive towards Sharon too, as he had with Eden. He hadn't physically hurt her, but he was getting close to it (think, punching walls or throwing things - aggressive hand gestures, etc.) and it soon dawned on Sharon that the home was not safe anymore.
So, she planned to leave without telling him. Eden himself still isn't sure why, but she opted to take him with her. maybe it was pity, maybe it was newfound maternal instinct due to having her own baby on the way, who knows? well, not long after her baby - & Eden's younger half sister - Beatrice Harmon, was born, while Troy was out one evening, Sharon packed what she could of their belongings - only the important things & clothing - that she could fit in her purse, & made for her mother's house, maybe 2 hours away.
Sharon's mother, Susan, was - for lack of a better term - an angel. Though they weren't blood-related, she immediately welcomed Eden as her grandson, with open arms. She stayed with them every day while Sharon was at work, and actively engaged with and played with them. Eden even had his first birthday celebration there when he turned five. This was by far the best year of his entire life at the time.
Well, of course, that also didn't last. (Here's where things take an even darker turn, so if you need to, refer back to the tw.)
Troy found them. Susan was behind the corner, fixing lunch for Eden and Bea, when he showed up, and broke in. In broad daylight. Eden completely froze at first, unable to even believe that this was happening. Troy destroyed things, and stomped all throughout the small home, calling Sharon's name. But Sharon, ironically, wasn't even home - she was at work. Susan yelled for him to leave, and grabbed a kitchen knife in order to protect the kids, then dialed 9-1-1.
Troy flew into a rage, and injured her, very badly. She was only in her mid-sixties, but she was still an older woman. She kept screaming for Eden to take his sister and run to the neighbors, since the front door was still ajar, but Eden couldn't yet hear anything. His ears were ringing, and his body was completely paralyzed with fear. Troy injured one of her legs badly enough that she couldn't get up off of the ground, and then ended up knocking her unconscious.
when Eden could finally make his body move, all he could think was not to stop Troy. Stop him from hurting Susan any further, and not to let him lay a finger on his baby sister. So, he grabbed the kitchen knife and did what he had to. The end result wasn't immediate however, and - still pumped full of adrenaline - Troy ended up injuring Eden quiet badly as well. Then, he realized how badly injured he *himself* was, panicked, and promptly took off on foot.
Eden was unable to move due to his injuries, but still semi-conscious. Susan was gravely injured, and he wasn't sure whether or not she was even still alive. Bea ended up being completely physically unharmed. Neighbors came outside, found them, and dialed 9-1-1, successfully hitting 'call' this time. All three were rushed to the hospital to be examined & treated. The hospital also contacted Sharon, and she got there as fast as she could.
At first, Sharon was just so relieved that her mother and Eden were alive, and that Bea wasn't injured. But after a day & a half, authorities found Troy. Not alive. He'd failed to get medical attention for his own injuries, obviously for fear of going to prison. When Sharon found that out, she was - surprisingly - devastated. apparently at one point, she'd gotten it in her head that they could reconcile someday in the near future, and had - stupidly - given him strong hints as to where they were all staying.
and of course, now that he was dead, all those plans went up in smoke. So, who does she blame? If you said Eden, you win! :,]
Eden, still being a kid - and a severely traumatized one, at that - of course did the same thing he did the last time he was blamed for someone's death, and believed that it really was his fault. So now, in his mind, he'd killed *both* his parents (which of course was not the case - it was not his fault at all.)
Sharon took custody of he and Beatrice, as she was pretty much all they had left. And like last time, she let her resentment fester, and turn into physical and verbal abuse. Only toward Eden though. Bea grew up witnessing this, and since her older brother was literally nothing but nice to her - and practically raised her due to Sharon's neglect of both kids - she fortunately stood up for him whenever she got the opportunity.
Susan held on as long as she could - until Eden was eleven - but eventually succumbed to her internal injuries. Infections played a role. Eden was forbidden from attending her memorial service, by Sharon, because - in her words - "She wasn't even really your grandma." She forced Bea to attend with her, and left Eden home alone that day.
Fast forward, and Eden's sixteen. Sharon demands that he start paying rent, or else she'll kick him out. Eden's not stupid, so he at first refuses, stating the obvious - that she couldn't kick out a sixteen-year-old. but she does anyway. she kicks him out, then calls the cops, and reports him as a runaway. Making him out to be an unruly teenager, who just wears her out all the time, and runs away when asked to do simple house chores such as cleaning his room (lies, lies, lies.)
She did this multiple times, and every time, the cops believed her. Eden got sick of it, and finally agreed to get a job so that he could pay rent. He went to work at a shitty local coffee shop, as a barista. There, he met Forrest! :] Yes, we finally get to some GOOD news.
At first, they didn't talk much, but after a while, Forrest noticed Eden struggling with certain things, and that whenever he asked for help, he was either ignored or insulted for "not knowing how to do his job." So, he offered to help him, since he knew his way around the place by then. That's how their interactions started. Coworkers to friends to lovers, basically.
Eden began spending every lunch with Forrest, listening to him infodump. everyone else thought Forrest's constant yapping was "annoying," but Eden was just glad to have someone who wanted to talk to him. Especially someone his age, and especially someone friendly.
By the time Eden was 17, he'd already filled Forrest in briefly about his home life, and Forrest and his mother Margaret, had made it clear to Eden that if it came down to it, he was welcome to stay with them. Sharon was constantly ranting about how she couldn't wait for the day when she was no longer legally responsible for him anymore, so Eden prepared. He made sure Bea still had a way to keep in touch with him whenever she needed, and he packed one bag of essentials, and kept it hidden until his 18th birthday.
On his 18th, he was immediately kicked out. I'm talking 2 o'clock in the morning, woken up, and told to get out and never come back. So, he did. He went to stay with Forrest & Margaret, and stayed there for 3 years. During which he remained working with Forrest at the coffee shop, and offered to pay Margaret rent, to which she laughed and told him to save his money, and he didn't need to do that.
Margaret too is an angel, fr. Anyways, at 21, he and Forrest were dating and decided to move in together. And ofc, Beatrice later ended up moving out right away at 18 because she couldn't stand her mother. And the rest is history. :]
I always say, the silliest goose has the most fucked up backstory

Hi. Sorry for the random message. But you seem really knowledgeable and I wanted to ask you a question. Or many questions as it seems from my paragraphs below lol.
I know you’ve stated transitioning is a capitalistic desire to become something you aren't in order to experience femininity, or whatever you desire to become, without the strings of being who you are, and that we are estranged individuals who run to fantasy when we can’t cope our reality.
I am an ace trans woman. I know it seems as if I'm a man, a man who wants to use femininity as a product to cure myself or to heal myself, just like everything else men use it for. Only I took it a step further because I wanted cheap approval.
Maybe I am those things, maybe I’m selfish, maybe I’m delusional. Maybe I’m no better than a drag queen who calls women “fish” or whatever.
But a part of me believes that it isn't that, that it runs deeper than that, and I would be lying if I said I didn't want this to be true. I've never wanted approval from anyone, and if I became invisible one day with no one to see me transition or change except myself, I believe I would be very happy. I remember reading a study that trans brains are more inherent to their gender than they are the predisposed gender attached to their sex. If I have the brain of a woman and the body of a man, where does that put me? Am I just a joke that God played?
I don’t know.
I know you mentioned that transitioning has always been purely physical. But for me it isn’t like that. I was already born with a body that overall, was feminine enough for me. Is it based off of stereotypes? Maybe. And maybe that makes me inherently selfish. But I’m ok with my body, at least for today.
I've always believed that I embodied feminine traits. I've always tried to be caring, I've always tried to give and receive. I've always tried to be emotionally strong, and I've always tried to be empathetic. Not tried in an imitation sense, but just really wanted to give it my all. Do what my mother and grandmother did in a sense, to follow in their footsteps. Maybe I have a flawed idea of what feminist is, but honestly who doesn’t? It’s been so skewed by societies expectations of women, that it’s like keeping track of an electric atom. But I have a deep feeling, that may or may not be flawed in of itself, but if anyone had a perfect idea on what things were we would already be on Mars in a utopian matriarchal society.
It's always been taken advantage of. A lot of men have called me gay, and when I tried makeup I was a drag queen. That always humiliated me, as if I wasn't really a woman, just a pale mocking imitation of one that men created. But maybe they’re right. I've always felt I had feminine energy. Is that too abstract? I really hope I'm right in a sense, but if I should give up now and go back. I don't know what to do.
Have I based myself on a lie?
Maybe this is the gender equivalent of chasing ghosts or taking pictures of UFOS. Striving for something that is ultimately pointless and fantasy. (Would you be surprised if I told you I believed in ghosts)
Are all trans women just strange offshoots of body modifiers who took advantage of femininity as a cure for their own self deprecation? I would be lying if I said I knew the answer.
All I know is that I’m not crazy. And I’ve never wanted to hurt anyone, or myself. All I’ve wanted is to become a vet, take care of my 4 dogs and 2 cat and make some difference in the world, and maybe pick up some gender along the way.
Sorry for the long read, thank you for your time. It means a lot. I think you have some of the most intelligent and nuanced tales I’ve heard in a while. Even if I don’t personally agree. Let me know if i misinterpreted what you’ve said. I hope this adds at least some sort of value to the conversation.
Hi, and thank you for your message. I like random messages.
I'm glad to hear you try to follow in the footsteps of your mother and grandmother when it comes to empathy and being caring. That's what all people should do, regardless of sex. Being like a good mother isn't a female virtue but something we all should strive towards. There have been times and places where striving to be like a good mother wasn't humiliating for men.
This is a bit of a tangent but I do have to disagree that in a perfect world we would have a matriarchal society on Mars. We would be here and our planet would be livable for all the future generations to come. Using valuable resources for pointless endeavors is a male fantasy. And by that I don't mean you believe that because you are a male but it's a fantasy of a male-dominated culture. I very much believe a good society wouldn't use natural resources and workforce like that. For most of our history humans were clever enough to live without leaving a trace. I think that is something we should also strive towards.
But this is off-topic. You seem like you're in distress. To me it sounds like you've had a lot of hardship with not fitting in and you're trying to find a way to make sense of that and find a way to feel like you belong. The way you've made sense of who you are is by claiming, or hoping, you're a woman.
You said you've always had feminine energy. You asked if that's too abstract. I have to admit I don't understand what is feminine energy. You wrote to a woman who is most of the time more or less dirty, has short hair, doesn't shave. I wear "men's" clothes and swear non-stop. Where is my feminine energy? Do you have it and I don't? Am I a woman? Or is my capability of empathy the feminine energy I have? Are men inherently devoid of it? How much empathy a man has to have before he stops being a man? These non-physical ideas of womanhood and manhood make me ask questions I've never found good answers to.
You also said you believe you might have the brain of a woman. This too, is a male fantasy, this artificial division between mind and the body. There can't be a female brain inside a male body. There can be an atypical male brain, sure, but it doesn't make it a female brain. I'm under the impression that those kind of brain sex differences have been debunked, anyway. But even if they weren't, our whole bodies are sexed. There isn't a separate soul that could be of different sex than your body. Women aren't oppressed for our souls but our bodies which are capable of creating life. A woman with a "male brain" would have been still forced to birth 12 children in the past. Our bodies are what the patriarchy controls.
Associating womanhood with certain personality traits or certain looks is harmful for women. We aren't a costume. The things trans women describe when they argue why they are women are stereotypes. If these stereotypes are a proof of womanhood, it hinders us from freeing ourselves of those stereotypes. To be free, women need to be able to be any kind of people. But now there's so many young women who believe they're not women at all because they don't recognize themselves in the stereotypes.
All this said, I don't think you've based your identity on a lie. Lying implies knowingly deceiving someone. I'd rather think you've based your identity on certain cultural concepts that help you make sense of what kind of person you are. I believe you find those beliefs comforting and have no bad intentions.
How I understand a lot of trans women are is that they are males who don't fit the social role that is expected of men. They feel more comfortable in the social role associated with womanhood. It's by no means easy to be a trans woman but it's easier to assimilate and think women as your peers, when compared to being a man who is everything a man isn't supposed to be and who is often very alone in his experience. As a trans woman you have a community, you have words with which to make sense of yourself, you have a feeling of sisterhood, maybe with other trans women, maybe with all women.
I'm all for gender non-conformity. Having a certain kind of body doesn't mean you need to act certain way, have a certain type of personality or prefer a certain kind of style.
So: What is a woman? A woman is an adult human female. It excludes males, like you. It doesn't mean I want you to change yourself. You have your personality, your values, your sense of style that fits you. Does it make you a woman? I don't think so, no.
We could, of course, broaden the definition of womanhood to include males. A lot of people like you find comfort in the idea. But we can't. We live in a patriarchy. It means male dominance over women. And we need words to talk about that.
Adopting an oppressed identity to fulfill your personal needs so you'd feel you belong hurts the oppressed people. Just a comparison: my values align a lot with what I've read about many indigenous peoples values. But I see those values through my western lens and can't even see the huge distortions I most likely have. My knowledge is second hand knowledge based on books and I have no idea what it's like to be indigenous. I have my own feelings of alienation as I struggle within my own culture and so I become attached to things I think I recognize myself in. But it doesn't mean I am indigenous nor does it even mean I understand those other cultures at all. I could be very mislead in my western fantasy. So what I need to do is to be in touch with who I really am and where I really am and create something genuine from that starting point. Something that aligns with my values and who I am. I don't need to appropriate an identity to carve a place for myself in the world, and to change the world.
You see where I'm going? People like you could do this. You could destroy all the rules imposed on you and become the kind of man you need to be, and maybe the kind of man the world needs, too. I know it's not easy. People like you are being mocked, even hated. It's not easy, of course it's not. But I believe a good feminist ally would rather use his energy to build new kind of manhood, rather than come to our spaces, claiming to be just like us, when you aren't.
I don't think trans women are inherently selfish or evil. I know many kind and nice trans women personally. I think a lot of you are going through the same process that caused me to believe I was a man. But to change the world and to be genuinely comfortable with oneself, the reality needs to be accepted.
I'd happily share spaces with kind and nurturing men, and might feel we are similar as people. I believe that is what many trans identified males wish, to be one of the women, so to speak. But being comfortable around women doesn't mean you have a right to forcibly claim our spaces and our attention and our resources. I believe many women would gladly share their time with people like you and would think of you as sisters. But I wished it wouldn't have to involve pretending to be us.
This is what I think about this right now. I don't know if this is my final opinion on the matter. I have no ill will for male people who feel kinship with women. But my priority is women's right to our own words which we need so we can tell the story of our oppression.

I can't believe the Dakar is over already. I started out being mostly interested in the bikes, so they have a special place in my heart. And I am a KTM girlie, so this year's Honda domination made me real sad. Although the results of all the other categories that I follow make up for that.
I might be the biggest Martin Macik fan and I feel like out of all the winners, he (and his team of course) deserves it the most. It's his 12th Dakar and I'm so happy everything's finally worked out for him. With 2 hours ahead of the 2nd.
Also I was really rooting for Carlos Sainz and Audi in general. Audi had a three year programm with a hybrid car and this was their last Dakar (for now) and I really wanted them to get a win. Preferably with Carlos. Audi is a great example for team work as well. I'm so happy for them. And the fact that Carlos Jr. flew in to see his dad win makes me so happy.
But I've got to admit that a little part of me was rooting for Sebastien Loeb as well. Dude's won so many championships and stages, but never the Dakar itself. He's been on the podium so many times and he was so close to Carlos for the better part of the race. But honestly after those mechanical problems, I'm just glad he's still on the podium.
And probably the biggest of them all. Christina Gutierrez ladies and gentlemen. The second woman to ever win the Dakar, after Jutta Kleinschmidt, the queen of motorsports, but in a different category. I hope Christina gets to drive in the Ultimate category soon, so she can kick some ass there alongside Laia Sanz, my queen.
And speaking of women in the Dakar, can we talk about Anja Van Loon and her team? A girls team in the trucks? How cool is that? And they're 13th overall😭
Not to forget the mission 1000. I've been a fan of the hydrogen truck since it was first presented at Dakar and I love that more and more people test their alternatively powered vehicles there.
Last but not least probably my favorite part about this year's Dakar (alongside Martin, Carlos and Christina winning). The best friendship in the bivouac: Daniel Sanders and Matthias Walkner. Matthias couldn't compete this year because of a very bad injury (get well soon, my guy) and at first Daniel just posted things about how he'll miss his camper buddy, but when he got there, he stuffed one of Matthias' racing suits and acted like he was talking to him. And he posted a video doing that every single fucking day😭😭😭😭
Really these two are so cute.

Character ask: Catherine Earnshaw (Wuthering Heights)
Tagged by @mathilda-1819-1820
Thank you for this request. I have a lot of feelings about Cathy.
Favorite thing about them: First of all, her sheer depth and originality as a character. She's nearly everything a 19th century heroine wasn't "supposed" to be, yet while she's not portrayed as a good person, she can't be written off as a villain either. She's like a Shakespearean tragic hero – eloquent, complex, sometimes deeply unlikable, yet deeply human and sympathetic too, and partly to blame for her own fate, partly a victim of her society – but instead of a man, she's a teenage girl. Also, whether we like her as a person or not, I think a part of her exists in all people, especially all women. Who hasn't felt torn between wild, authentic instincts and the pressure to be tamed into a socially acceptable role? Who hasn't felt the allure of society's rewards for obeying its rules of gender presentation, mores of social class, etc., only to realize the terrible cost of leaving behind your true self? Last but not least, I'll admit that there's some wish fulfillment in her character, for me and probably for countless other readers too, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that. While of course I wouldn't want to be as cruel as she can be or suffer the way she does, I wouldn't mind being a stunningly beautiful "queen of the countryside," with a charismatic, untamable free spirit, and who wins the lifelong adoration of two men; and while I wouldn't personally fall in love with Heathcliff, I still enjoy the fantasy of sharing such a powerful, unbreakable soul bond with another person. These are the main reasons why she appeals to me.
Least favorite thing about them: Well, she's not a nice person. Even though I sympathize with her, I can't deny that she's selfish, manipulative, and sometimes abusive. Her worst moment is probably her tantrum just before Edgar's marriage proposal, when she pinches and slaps Nelly, shakes toddler Hareton, and slaps Edgar.
On a meta level, I sometimes struggle with whether or not I think her portrayal shows internalized misogyny on Emily Brontë's part. She can be seen to reflect an array of sexist tropes: a willful and transgressive woman "punished" with madness and death, a cruel yet irresistible beauty who ruins men's lives, the "feminine" sins of vanity and materialism, a woman who "causes" a man's villainy by denying him her love while alive and later tormenting him as a ghost, a "hysterical woman," a woman who falls ill and dies for love of a man, and ultimately, a woman silenced by death and reduced to just an object of grief for the two men who loved her. Most of the time, though, I feel as if Brontë gives these tropes enough complications that none of them are played fully straight.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I'm a brunette female.
*As a teenager, I had trouble with anger management.
*I've felt torn between wanting to be ladylike and wanting to be wild and free.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I've never been married.
*I've never locked myself in my room for days or gone on a hunger strike to guilt trip anyone.
*I didn't die in childbirth at age 19.
Favorite line: Her speeches throughout the "I am Heathcliff!" scene and throughout the scene of her delirium.
brOTP: Isabella, before things go sour, and Nelly, when she's confiding in her and not mistreating her.
OTP: Heathcliff.
nOTP: Edgar (despite their brief happiness), or worse, Hindley or Mr. Earnshaw.
Random headcanon: I like to think she usually means what she says. Her description of her love for Heathcliff as a strange, transcendent soulmate bond is exactly how she perceives it – she's not just trying to paint normal romantic love as something different to justify her choice to marry another man. Likewise, as much as she loves Heathcliff, her description of his "wolfish" nature to Isabella is genuinely how she views him – she's not just trying to scare Isabella away from him, or trying to convince herself that she's better off as Edgar's wife. She's also telling the truth when she denies being jealous of Heathcliff's attention to Isabella – just as long as it doesn't diminish his bond with herself, she can accept the thought of his also loving and marrying another woman, the same way she hoped he would accept her marriage to Edgar. I'm not saying it isn't valid to read her motives differently, but I think it makes her a more interesting character if we assume she's sincere in these cases than if we think she's lying.
Unpopular opinion: She never betrays Heathcliff. That's one thing she's not guilty of; not in the book, at least. In some of the adaptations, where their youthful relationship is made more explicitly romantic (especially in the ones that have them sleep together, which of course the book never implies), then yes, it counts as betrayal when she accepts Edgar's proposal. But in the book, while they've been devoted foster siblings and constant companions, their romantic feelings for each other are still unspoken. Cathy tells Nelly that Heathcliff will never know how much she loves him, and she's able to lie to herself that Heathcliff isn't in love with her, because under Hindley's abuse he's stopped expressing affection for her in words and tends to recoil from her touch. As far as we know, their argument three years later about Isabella is the first time Heathcliff ever verbally expresses his true feelings for Cathy, and their last meeting before her death is the first and only time they ever really interact as lovers. Nor does she ever intend to break off their friendship; both when she first accepts Edgar's proposal and when Heathcliff comes back three years later, she assumes they can still be as close as ever despite her marriage. She betrays her own heart, as Heathcliff says, but that's different than betraying Heathcliff.
Song I associate with them: "Wuthering Heights" by Kate Bush. Some of the lyrics are questionable (e.g. would dominant Cathy ever really call Heathcliff her "master"?), but the song is still a classic.

Keizo Hoshokura has played the game of love and always won, but today he gets a hard lesson in humility from his newest target.
Relationship(s): Keizo Hoshokura | Radiator x Shiho Hoshokura | Queen Jewel
Warning(s): Swearing
Misc: Shiho said no more trying to fix men let the men fix themselves, dedicated to @floof-ghostie aka the ultimate RadiJewel shipper
Tumblr media
Keizo Hoshokura, handsome and arrogant, walked into the gates of Kando like the gods had gifted him to them. His presence immediately caught the attention of the women-- who wouldn't be charmed by him? With his chestnut brown hair, eyes gold like sun rays, and a smile that'd make even goddesses blush, many women found themselves flocking to him.
And Keizo liked that.
Over the years he gained a reputation for being a heartbreaker. He'd be with a girl one day and another one the next. He wasn't too worried about it, of course. There'd always be plenty of women ready and willing to be at his side even for a second.
But most of the ladies here weren't whom he had his sights on.
Shiho Takarano prided herself on being headstrong and opinionated. Society, especially the type she and her sister Kimi came from, didn't take too kindly to a woman having those traits-- but nevertheless she persisted. Many people tried to silence her but never succeeded.
Her head and mind were currently in her book, providing her a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the upcoming entrance exams.
A coy smile crossed Keizo's lips when he spotted her. It wasn't hard to lose someone like Shiho in a crowd because of how foreign her appearance was. With deep brown skin and velvet brown hair accented with a white streak styled in an afro.
Still with his smile, Keizo made his move. "My oh my, look at who we have here."
Shiho didn't deter from her reading as a man approached her. In fact, the interruption only drew her further into the story.
Keizo hummed. "Purple is a stunning color for you. It really brings out your eyes."
Shiho simply hummed, never looking up from her book. Keizo took a moment to point out the book, Mules and Men.
"A bookworm, I see. I may not be a literary giant, but I know a masterpiece when I see one." Keizo winked at her.
"Shiho."
Shiho finally looked away from her book not at Keizo, but at her approaching sister Kimi. The two looked almost alike except Kimi had their mother's soft eyes while Shiho had what her family called "the angered god stare" from their father.
"Let's hurry. The exam is about to begin." Kimi locked arms with Shiho then made tracks for the auditorium. Along the way, she felt the need to question her sister on what Keizo was doing there.
"It seems like you've gained Hoshokura's attention."
"Don't remind me. I have no business associating with someone like him, especially since he sees me as some easy target." Shiho rolled her eyes at all those things Keizo said to her. Romance wasn't something she sought out, instead focusing on her goals and personal life. If given the choice, she'd run away to a monastery and become a nun instead of tying herself down to a man.
Once the entrance exams were over, Shiho looked for a quiet spot to continue reading. But before she could find one, an all too familiar voice filled her ears.
"Nice work out there, Golden Globe."
Shiho slightly twitched at the nickname. Was Keizo trying to make her punch him in the face? "Please call me Takarano and Takarano only."
"Don't be like that, princess." Keizo strode over to her. He could definitely see some of his future classmates turn green with envy as he approached Shiho. "You're always so tense, harsh, cold. Isn't it time you loosen up? Especially to love?"
Shiho scoffed. "I'm more than happy being single at the moment."
"Your mouth says one thing, but your heart is telling me another." Keizo raised his hand to cup Shiho's chin, only for it to be slapped away by her hand. Keizo could feel a small sting in his heart.
"I know who you are, Hoshokura. I've heard everything there is to know about you," Shiho began. "But I doubt you know me; so allow me to introduce myself: I am Shiho Takarano. Not 'Golden Globe' and certainly not an easy lay for you. And you, sir, are one of the most audacious men I've ever seen."
Before Keizo could say anything, Shiho silenced him with another harsh statement.
"I'm not someone who is effortlessly flattered by flowery words and sculpted features. Why do you think I've never had a suitor in my life? And if you thought you were any different, my apologies that you're not."
"So what are you saying?" Keizo asked.
"I'm saying no, Hoshokura. No I will not go out with you. No I will not be your girlfriend. And no I do not want to be associated, let alone in the vicinity, with you. Now get out my face."
Keizo's eyes widened in shock as she walked away. He'd never been rejected so harshly and publicly before. Was he wrong to underestimate someone like Shiho Takarano? Or was he just so used to winning that he'd never known a challenge? Either way, perhaps this was a lesson he'd needed.

Do you think after Thingol died and Melian left Middle Earth that she decided to just live in the Halls of Mandos until Thingol gets reimbodied?
Because as a Maia live wherever she wants, including Mandos' halls (right?), and I just can't see her being happy living in Valinor, especially after losing Luthien, and still being separated from Thingol who she 1) didn't return from Middle Earth for for several thousands of years for and 2) ultimately left Middle Earth for.
Or did she pull a Luthien and bully Mandos into getting Thingol reimbodied earlier than might have been the plan so that they can live wherever they want to?
Or did she pull a Legolas and smuggle Thingol out of Mandos' halls like a contraband twizzler?
There are so many options. I need to know which one you think happened.
I'll be such a downer, but......... none of the above? I mean, I could see any of these working, but they're not my headcanon. My headcanon is.... rather long?
To begin with, I don't headcanon all the Ainur can go wherever they want, let alone permanently live there. I don't think, for instance, that Yavanna could move to Taniquetil, or that Ulmo could move to Lorien. I don't have anything to back me up here, and I'm not even systematic about who is allowed where, but that's how I headcanon it. I also think it'd be extra weird for a Maia so closely tied to themes like spring and growth to be in Mandos. It just strikes me as something that wouldn't really be allowed.
I imagine Melian could try and get Thingol out of Mandos since she can't remain in Mandos, but Mandos isn't jail. Mandos isn't punishment in any way, and I can think of no particular doom that makes it so that Thingol couldn't himself leave if he wanted to. I feel like if Thingol isn't reborn is because he simply isn't ready to be reborn. I think for Melian to try and get him out of there would be bad for him.
Melian is the person who, though we are told it hurt her unimaginably, was willing to give up Luthien (possibly forever?) because she respects her daughter, she respects fate, and she knows she has to let go sometimes. That's a kind of heroism (Elrond comes to mind as someone who also embodies that really well), and I would hate to take that strength away from her. My headcanon is that Melian simply... waits. All in all, though her pain must be terrible, ultimately, she will probably seen Thingol sooner rather than later, in the grand scheme of things. My headcanon is basically that she hangs out with Este, and probably Vana, Yavanna and (this is new for her) Nienna - and waits. (I'm also sure she had Maiar friends, but they don't get names so I can't picture them :/)
Also, Valinor is full of women who have experience similar losses. I mean, I'm sure there are also men whose wives chose Exile, but statistically, that appears to have been rarer. I would not be surprised if Melian, who lived so long as an elven queen, was actually more comforted by being surrounded by elves than by Ainur.
So as usual my headcanon is the most boring possible take. Like so many others, Melian simply waits for better days to come and that's it, nothing groundbreaking, even though she's a goddess. I don't think even the Ainur have the power to make sorrow go away from the world

in character questions Answer these in character, and feel free to add gifs into your answers.
1.) What did you want to do with your life when you were younger? What would the child version of yourself think about the path you paved for yourself?
It depends on which day of the week you asked her. All jokes aside, I went through a few different phases when it comes to goals, but ultimately what I've always wanted was to be loved. While also being independent and not needing to be loved. I suppose I'm doing alright for myself. I haven't fake laughed at any rich men just because they're rich in a while and I consider that a plus.
Tumblr media
2.) What is your proudest accomplishment? Don’t be afraid to  talk about what it took to achieve it and how you feel about it as well.
Beth. Being a teen mom wasn't something I chose, but keeping her healthy while she grew inside of me and then being grown enough myself to give her up when I knew that I couldn't handle being a parent was the best thing I've ever done in my entire life. It might be the best thing that I ever do.
Tumblr media
3.) If you could do anything you wanted for one whole day, what would it be and why?
Again, it depends on what day of the week it is. Are we talking supernatural here? Sometimes, I need relaxation. Sometimes, I need excitement. Sometimes, I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and would like to go back in time to talk to myself or other people in my life. Sometimes, I wish I could see into the future.
Tumblr media
where are they now?
After everything with Biff, Quinn realized that she needed to change her perspective on a few things again. This was nothing new for her as the resident queen of transformation in Ohio. It's a common theme for her that she decides that doing one big, crazy thing will solve all of her problems and turn her life entirely around. Chasing someone that her early high school self would have gone for made her realize that she was backsliding. Her way of trying to undo that was to change her standards, which landed her with Puck again, then a string of questionable relationships for a while and that brought on the realization that focusing on any man was the wrong move.
She needed to focus on herself. Reflecting on herself, her parents, and her past, she thought about how she had always thought that the best she could hope for was to live out her peak in high school and marry someone that would support her and keep her living comfortably as a house wife and stay at home mom with the least amount of drama possible. But she had learned in her senior year and as a young adult that she didn't need to wait for a man. She could get her own.
The most obvious starting point was figuring out what she was doing at Yale and what she wanted to do afterwards, where she had been studying theatre. Thinking about what she wanted with life, she imagined herself as Glenn Close's Cruella, Wilhelmina Slater, or any other high powered, classy girl boss----- though it didn't necessarily have to be fashion she focused on, she was more interested in other things. Barbie was another idol as a little girl, and she now had a huge interest in women in politics as well. Women's rights were incredibly important to her. No amount of work was too much. She had experience in leadership and organization from being a cheer captain and sorority president at Yale. In high school, she had done a lot with music and performing and it had transformed her in a way that nothing else had been able to before it.
She knew that if she stopped performing and singing, it might lead to issues in her character due to the lack of soul in her life, especially since she was planning on being single again for quite some time. Planning ahead, she took on a job at the Smythe law offices that paid well enough for her to save up while she finished college. She already had a good deal of money (especially in Ohio standards) but she needed more to complete her plan. At the end of it all, she owned her own theater on Broadway where she was able to make sure that there was a place that offered fair and diverse casting for productions that were worth producing, and she was able to perform whenever she wanted. It also meant that she got to put her experience planning events into action, because she could use her establishment for anything she wanted and she wanted to enrich the community. With the defunding of Planned Parenthood, she immediately put the money down to keep a few struggling branches open and continues to do what she can to donate to keep access to healthcare open to all.
connections:
OLIVER BRAY: He was the first person that Quinn went to see after she dyed her hair pink. As a skank, she got all of her illegal goods from him. He supplied her with cigarettes, weed (mostly edible), and some pills. She wasn't ever what you would imagine as a huge addict, but she did get pretty hooked on the pills and had to cut him out of her life when she went back to the blonde so that she wasn't tempted to keep taking pills. They've run into each other more than a few times since then, every time they do they date, and almost always because Quinn reached out and contacted Oliver. He was one of her questionable relationships after the canon season finale but it ended amicably again when he went on to LA and she went back to Yale.
FRANNIE FABRAY: They were more distant as kids and teens because Quinn always felt like everything she could do, Frannie had already done twice as good as she'd ever be able to because she was older and wiser and just better all around. Being kind seemed so easy to Frannie too, people liked her so much. But when Quinn finally grew up and got her hands on her own success, the rivalry disappeared.
SEBASTIAN SMYTHE: The two are close friends, which is no surprise because they were both villains in their own right before turning over their prospective leaves and becoming better people. They can talk to each other candidly without the other judging them. She's also grateful for his help with the job at his father's law office while she was in college, because it not only paid better than anything else she could have done and worked with her schedule but it allowed her to make contacts with money makers.
THE UNHOLY TRINITY: I want it known that Quinn is still the leader of the Unholy Trinity and she still makes sure that they all hang out all of the time. She might be a third wheel but she never feels like it.
MERCEDES JONES: I'd like them to have continued to be close since the Jones family allowed Quinn to stay with them while she was pregnant. I'd also like her to continue to talk to the Jones parents as if they were second parents to herself as well. Her own dad gave her nothing but daddy issues, so I can see her really clinging to a second family.
ELLIOTT GILBERT & JEFF STERLING & MARLEY ROSE: All perform at her theatre from time to time. Quinn would have offered the opportunity to every single one of her friends, and their friends too, honestly. So if you want to say your character has performed at her theatre, we can talk about it.

Street Art Week
I have only ever publicly protested in political/human rights marches, with signs I created expressing the message I want to be heard, while occasionally adding my own personal artistic touch. If I had time for whatever protest I was attending, I would try to add a unique picture so that my poster would stand out but still have the message read loud and clear. For example, during a women's march I attended, I drew a nsked woman under the words my body my choice. I feel like words itself are art as is it a form of expression and can be perceived in any way.
LAAMS Lower East Side
Tumblr media
A)I was inspired to take this photo because of the emotional connection I felt with the specific words used. Although not entirely grammatically correct, I understood what it meant to say. This was specifically taken at a dark moment in my life where I felt that I was telling myself that I was not in the right place and that I needed to be more and bigger, basically that I wasn’t enough. I was so depressed and digging myself deeper and deeper into this hole of self hatred, consistently talking down on myself. When in reality, I needed to be listening to my feelings to understand why these feelings were so real. I needed to understand that I was depressed and that instead of digging myself deeper. Listening to my emotions instead of talking down on myself allowed me to pull myself out of this mental state. This artist was completely anonymous to me. I feel like anyone going through a dark time in their life and seeing these words could maybe alter the course of their day into a more positive perspective, as this can be interpreted differently by anyone.
   B) McCarren Park Greenpoint Brooklyn
Automatically this rainbow bus caught my eye as I was walking down the streets of Brooklyn after taking myself shopping. What made me capture this photo was that it seemed the only purpose of this bus was for it to be admired for the colorful patterns and bold words saying “Art is Love” painted all around. The hearts around it bring joy to the beholder, and the inside of it was filled with the same creative joyous spread. I wanted to capture this because of the feeling of happiness I felt as it expressed the simplicity of a clear message and colorful pallet. As I do not know the artist behind the creation, I would like to go back to this area and try to see if they have any more pieces like this.
Canal Street Soho
C)Even though this is a sticker, I felt like this needed to be photographed because of how most native and new New Yorkers would agree to this. Ultimately, most residents would agree that there is no city like New York City, and that this city is like living a beautiful day in hell. Its chaos and face paced environment beats you up in all the right ways, forcing you to be a stronger, more creative individual. The entrancing element of New York city makes people both love and hate where they live, and appreciation of the city is something many people would agree with. Although this is only a sticker, I feel like words can often be used in an artistic form, as it creates dialog. After research, I found that this is possibly a sticker from the clothing store NYON. Fashion itself can also be used as a form of art, so both the sticker and the clothing allows New York to get the appropriate recognition.
Madison Square Park
D)I feel like most people familiar with the streets of New York have seen these words all around the different boroughs and throughout manhattan. The font and repeated texts signifies that it is the same artist writing these powerful words. This Queens-raised artist, Leviyev, tags the entire city in an effort to turn it into his own “modern day renaissance”. According to Leviyev from a quote in the article Dream Until Your Its Reality: Why One NYC Artist Will Keep Writing on Sidewalks Until You Follow Your Dreams, Written by Maddie Katz “The whole point of graffiti is it’s an illegal commercial. We don’t have the capital that major corporations have but we have ideas corporations wish they had.” He hopes to leave his legacy in the city and for New Yorkers to work their reality into existence. Everytime I see the tag. I now think of Leviyev and how he wanted his reality of being a legacy to influence the public, being both motivational and artistical.
Outside of the MOMA
E)Although I am unfamiliar with the artist of these paintings, they were clearly inspired by the infamous Banksy, and his graffiti art offering a commentary on society. I have personally never seen an actual Bansky piece in person, so seeing replicas of his work was something I wanted to capture, especially since it was outside such an important museum. This graffiti master has influenced so much of modern day art, so seeing anyone try to mimic his capabilities is important in understanding that art can be created by any person.

Why ACOTAR 5 Is (Without a Doubt) Elain’s Book
Warning: This post will be a long one, and will analyze the series as a whole (including ACOSF). As you read it, please consider taking your shipping goggles off, as none of this has anything to do with shipping and everything to do with character development/plot/the overall narrative of the series/good storytelling. Thank you!
Main points:
Elain’s role in the ACOTAR series
Elain’s character evolution throughout the series
The foreshadowing in ACOSF (+ bonus POVs)
The overarching plot
SJM’s own words
The ACOTAR Series and Elain’s Role
Tumblr media
We have multiple interviews of SJM saying that Nesta and Elain’s role started off as a fairytale trope: that of the evil sisters. Then, Nesta surprised her when she decided to go after Feyre in ACOTAR, and the rest is history.
The sisters went from being a trope to being an instrumental part of the series. In ACOMAF, they were a link to Feyre’s human life (a final thread that she needed to let go of), as well as a means to an end (first, by being a bridge between the IC and the Queens, and then, as leverage, or weapons that were used against Feyre in Hybern). The final scene in ACOMAF was the catalyst for everything that happened in ACOWAR—and everything that is yet to come—but, most importantly, it also opened the door to two new character arcs/journeys—two new protagonists.
The protagonist exists as a sympathetic device to drive a story. To be effective in this role, they are usually there from the inciting moment to the end.
The similarities between their journey and Feyre’s are astounding: human made into something that she was raised to fear; coming to terms with trauma; letting go of the past; accepting her new condition; and the list goes on and on.
Now, who had more to lose by becoming fae?
Tumblr media
And who lost more than anyone else?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elain lost a future.
She was happy, content, in love.
Then, everything was ripped away from her in the span of a few minutes.
She was turned into something she had been raised to fear, something that her own fiancée had been raised to hate.
And, if that wasn’t enough, she was also forced into a bond neither her, nor Lucien, wanted. Mated to a man who participated, even if unknowingly, in the loss of her life—of her future. A man who did not know her, want her, love her.
Tumblr media
This, right here, is good storytelling. It sets the stage for what is to come—for Elain’s future story and character arc.
ACOWAR is centered around repercussions:
Tumblr media
For Elain, this book is one of healing, at least on the surface. SJM built the foundation of Elain’s journey, evidenced by:
Elain hitting rock bottom
Erasing any hope of a future with Graysen
Severing the last thread to her human life (with the death of her father)
This book also emphasizes Elain’s vital role in future books by:
Making her powerful (a seer)
Making her instrumental in the war against Hybern (due to her visions)
Having her save both, Nesta and Cassian (the protagonists of ACOSF)
Creating a connection between her and Vassa (and, ultimately, between Lucien, Vassa, and Jurian)
Having her introduce the next big bad (Koschei)
Hinting at her being the only one who can locate the one thing that can kill Koschei (the onyx box)
So, when you add everything that we know from ACOMAF and ACOWAR, what do we have? Potential.
We also have a character whose journey has been building since ACOTAR. The most significant hint is the constant use of the “dirty hands” imagery in reference to Elain. But more on that later.
Once the ACOTAR series wrapped up, we learned that, while Feyre and Rhysand’s journey was over, Sarah had more stories to tell—specifically, Nesta, Elain, and the ICs. As such, ACOFAS had two purposes:
To wrap up Feyre and Rhys’s story.
To introduce the future plot/main conflict and, with it, the next couple.
ACOFAS, however, also served to set up the stage for future protagonists, as well:
We saw some progress in Elain (her keeping busy with gardening and baking, her still having bad days, her friendship with Nuala and Cerridwen, and her slowly finding her place within the IC)—all of this was brought up again in ACOSF.
We got hints about Azriel and Elain’s growing feelings for each other (a storyline that was present throughout ACOSF, and confirmed in Azriel’s Bonus POV).
We learned about Azriel’s estate—Rosehall.
We got Mor’s POV, and learned some new things about her which will probably factor into her future book.
Again, SJM spent time focusing on Elain, fleshing out her character (while still giving Nesta and her journey center stage), which only solidifies the fact that she will be getting her own story soon.
It’s interesting to note that Azriel was not given a POV like Mor, and had very little character development (in comparison to Elain).
Now, let’s look at ACOSF. We have:
New conflicts—with the Queens and Beron
A new villain—Koschei
An overarching plot that connects the conflicts with the villain—the alliance between Koschei, the Queens, and Beron
A secondary, but related, plot—Vassa and, with her, the Band of Exiles (Lucien and Jurian)
Potential weapons—the Made objects
A potential solution—the onyx box
What do all of these have in common?
Elain.
She is directly tied to both, the Queens and Beron (and the Autumn Court). She’s had ties to Koschei since ACOWAR (she was the first to tell the IC about him, after getting visions about him). Her visions, in turn, led to the introduction of Vassa, which created a link between them both (and Lucien, because of their mating bond). She is the only one, apart from Nesta, who can find the Made objects (and a 4th one was introduced in ACOSF). She is also the only one, apart from Nesta, who can Make an object. Finally, she is the only one who can locate the onyx box (an image she’s been seeing since ACOWAR).
Tumblr media
As a seer, Elain is arguably the most valuable character in the NC. She has been having visions about both, Koschei and Vassa, since ACOWAR.
Most importantly, however—her journey has been hinted at since ACOMAF:
Tumblr media
Her role in future books having already been established, what about Elain as a character, as a protagonist?
Let’s begin by looking at what a character arc is:
While main characters might face big challenges, character arcs have to do with internal, personal change. Characters will find their strengths and weaknesses tested over the course of the story—so that by the time they arrive at the story's end, they are a changed person.
When the protagonist overcomes external obstacles and internal flaws in order to become a better person, it becomes a hero’s journey.
At its core, this arc is made up of three points:
The Goal: Every character needs to have a goal. It might be to fall in love. Or it might be to make as much money as possible. Either way, their journey will be hindered by...
The Lie: A deeply-rooted misconception they have about themselves or the world that keeps them from reaching their true potential. In order to reach their goal, they’ll need to acknowledge and overcome the Lie, by facing…
The Truth: While the character may have their own plans, the positive change arc has its own goal: self-improvement. This is achieved when they learn to reject The Lie and embrace The Truth.
Now, let’s look at what we know about Elain:
The Goal: To defeat Koschei/the Queens/Beron.
The Lie: That she doesn’t have what it takes. That she is not as strong as her sisters. That she is the weak link, too gentle and sweet to get her “hands dirty.”
The Truth: That she is just as powerful AND capable as her sisters, and that she can do anything she puts her mind to (find the 4th object, discover the location of the onyx box, fight against Koschei/the Queens/Beron).
We already see SJM start to break down the Lie in Feysand’s Bonus Chapter:
Tumblr media
This is followed by Feyre saying:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So not only is Elain not afraid to get her hands dirty, she’s also not afraid of getting hurt in the process.
ACOSF is filled with moments that hint at Elain becoming just as powerful (if not more so) than her sisters. She has a very important role to play in future books, because she is the only one who can locate Koschei’s box and the 4th object. Her visions have been instrumental in the series so far, and there is a big hint that she might have more than just seer abilities:
Tumblr media
Powers. Plural.
It makes sense for Elain’s book to be next. SJM has been scattering crumbs for her story since ACOTAR, and she is the character who would add the most to the plot—the only character who can move the plot forward.
You cannot ignore all the foreshadowing:
= a literary device that writers utilize as a means to indicate or hint to readers something that is to follow or appear later in a story.
Clear foreshadowing in ACOSF (it would take too long to list all the passages in previous books, as well):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These are just a few examples but, for me, the one that gives it away is this passage (that can easily be overlooked) in Feysand’s Bonus POV:
Tumblr media
SJM is basically telling us that, once Nesta’s journey ends, Elain’s will begin.
And it makes sense!
This series is about the Archeron sisters. About human women turned fae.
Tumblr media
The first three books were about Feyre. The fourth about Nesta. It would not make sense to skip Elain, only to return to her story in the final book. Why?
Because, in order to defeat Koschei, all three sisters need to have reached their full potential. All three need to be healed, and strong, and fully in control of their lives and powers. You cannot cram everything into one book: Elain’s healing journey/character arc, Vassa’s own journey (because there is no way that SJM will NOT write a Swan Lake retelling—just look at her Pinterest board!), finding the 4th object, finding the box, and, ultimatly, defeating Koschei.
Feyre had a whole book to heal—ACOMAF
Nesta had a whole book to heal—ACOSF
Elain will have a whole book to heal, as well.
No other character adds as much value—or has as much untapped potential—than Elain.
Also, there is no way that SJM will postpone telling her story in favor of a male character (Azriel). If you’ve read any of her books, you know that it is always the female characters that eclipse the male characters.
Also, if Elain will become dark or even a villain (temporarily), then this will take place in her own story, and will not be used as a plot device for angsty!Azriel or for another couple to make sense/be pushed together.
If we look at the pattern in ACOTAR, we have:
The first book ends with a happily ever after. The MC has defeated the big bad and has walked off into the sunset with her LI. There are hints about a future conflict, but nothing is fleshed out (in ACOTAR, Feyre’s bargain with Rhys + a potential conflict between the courts and with Hybern).
The second book is all about development (both, character development, in the form of the MC’s healing journey, and plot development). The scene is being set for the final conclusion (the war/battle), and everything that takes place serves to bring the characters closer to the main conflict resolution. The book ends on a false happily ever after (Feysand’s mating bond, having what they need to annul the Cauldron’s powers), followed by a cliffhanger (the sisters turning fae, Feyre returning to the Spring Court).
The last book is centered around defeating the big bad and ends on a happily ever after for (almost) everyone involved. It brings the main players together in a final showdown that ends with good ultimately defeating evil.
If we are to look at this pattern, then:
ACOSF - Ends with a happily ever after (Nesta has healed, reconnected with her sisters, found her place in the IC, and has a family outside the IC—Gwyn, Emerie). She has defeated Briallyn, but the biggest threat—Koschei—has barely made an appearance, and there is no ending in sight.
ACOTAR 5 - Elain’s healing journey. Finding the 4th object. Knowing exactly what has been happening behind the scenes with Beron, the Queens, and Koschei. Finding the 4th object and uncovering the location of Koschei’s onyx box. Cliffhanger: Koschei has been freed/has found a way to free himself.
ACOTAR 6 - The journey to find the onyx box or a way to destroy whatever is inside. The repercussions of Koschei’s freedom. Vassa’s story coming full circle. Now that all three Archeron sisters have reached their full potential, they will most likely join forces/powers to hold off Koschei long enough for Vassa (because she NEEDS to have the killing blow) to finish him off.
This post is already long enough, but here are some honorable mentions that I haven’t spoken about because I wanted this to be a mostly character-driven argument:
The mating bond—Elain needs to either accept it or reject it, and I cannot see this happening in the last book because it would lose its effect (considering that they need to defeat Koschei in this book)
Elriel—The unresolved feelings between them need to be addressed/dealt with.
The Blood Duel—There is no way this isn’t happening. SJM wouldn’t mention it without it playing some sort of role in Elain’s book.
I might make another post (because I still haven’t addressed everything I wanted to), but Elain’s book is (without a doubt) next.
As a reminder: SJM has recently said that writing about characters that are hated/disliked is something that she loves doing. I think it’s safe to assume that, given the recent wave of hatred/dislike towards Elain, we are in for an epic journey.

Who Knows The Way I Love You
(A Valentine’s Day Harringrove ficlet! <3)
Leave it up to Steve’s mother, queen of control freaks and master of all life-ruiners to have arranged a date for him. Especially today, Valentine's Day.
For ages now she’s been harping on him about how disappointed she is in his lack of motivation to grow up. She felt that at 19 he was too old to still be at home, a mooch and an embarrassment to the family name, all because she had moved out when she was just 17 and got married in the same year and he’s, well, nothing like that.
The fact that she isn’t happy in that marriage never seems to come up when she’s making that argument though.
But apparently she’s taken matters into her own hands again, arranging for him to meet with some random bachelorette in hopes they’ll fall madly in love and he’ll want to move out immediately so she can finally have the house to herself. Maybe a few grand babies to dote on in a few years to make her feel like a good mother. The usual.
Of course she would wait until the day of to tell him too, casually over black coffee he hates the bitter taste of mentioning offhandedly, “You’re meeting with the Thompson girl tonight.”
He hadn’t known what to say except, “Meeting up as in, like, a date?”
“That’s what I said, Steven.” Her tone was serious, harsh even, as she monotonously explained the details, “You’ll pick her up at seven. Don’t be a minute late. I’ve already picked out a suit, just try to do something with that hair of yours, would you?”
At that point, he’d been perfectly content with nodding along, only hearing her request, ignoring it, then immediately forgetting, but she just had to add, before she turned on her heel and left him to think on it, “Oh and dear, please don’t do anything rash like last time. Lord knows how everyone talked after the Wheeler girl. If you must make a fool of yourself, do it quietly.”
It’s not that Steve had been really surprised, because again, his mother’s been trying to shape him into the perfect son since he was in diapers, which most of the time meant being judgemental as hell, and playing the love doctor since he was old enough to date, hand picking all his girlfriends to try to ensure her future daughter in law would be just perfect. It was amazing how every time, without fail, she always picked girls Steve couldn’t stand or get along with in the least bit.
Growing up in his mansion by parents too snobbish to deal with the less desirable aspects of parenting, he knew there was no way they could even know him all that well, but it still sung, just a little, every time his mother would force him to go out with any old rich debutante that struck her fancy without knowing what he cared for. Which happened to not be women at all, but that was beside the point.
Because vacations and family photos, that was all fine and easy, but teaching their kid a life skill or two, maybe sticking around long enough to make sure he wasn’t a walking anxious disaster, that was too far below them. And that’s exactly why they, or more specifically his mother (his dad probably doesn’t even know Steve’s ever had a girlfriend) think he needs every last part of his life predetermined to avoid the failures they had ultimately set him up for.
Like when his mother made him go to the country club his freshman year on weekend dates with Tina, who talked like a snob and thought she was better than him in every way. Or similarly when he had to take the Holloway’s daughter to the most expensive sit down restaurant just outside of Hawkins, this one the polar opposite of Tina, again leaving him with absolutely no idea how to conduct himself. She’d never even said a single word to him. At least breaking it off didn’t reflect back onto him.
All he’d realized from it was that he could barely manage small talk with any of the girls she wanted for him, let alone planning his whole damned future with them.
The only partner he’d ever really chosen for himself was Nancy Wheeler, and well, he didn’t even want to think about how that one ended. Or that maybe he never really loved her in the first place, that she was instead just an experiment to test his independence he got too attached to. Or, regardless of his feelings, the fact that it’s been thrown back in his face about a thousand times since as proof he shouldn’t be out there on his own. Like having one failed romance meant he had to just tuck his tail and drop whatever he was doing for her matchmaking bullshit.
Well wouldn’t she be disappointed to hear he already had a date, and she wouldn’t be getting her perfect little daughter in law anytime soon? He’d bet her heart would break clean in two.
Because this wasn’t just the case of your typical, rebellious well-off teenager dating the-girl-next-door to offend his beloved parents while ultimately still following the rules, he’d done all that before. It’s juvenile.
This, this was more like taking everything they had ever raised him to be and turning it on it’s head.
Steve has a boyfriend. Well, a sort of a boyfriend. They never used that word, in Steve’s case mostly because he can’t handle the commitment just yet. He can thank Ruth Harrington for that one.
Ironically, the fact that this partner of his was a boy somehow probably wasn’t enough to shred her sensibilities into nothing but hatred on its own, but that ambiguity, the hesitation to commit for the rest of his life into something romantic, that might just do the trick.
He just couldn’t help himself. When Billy Hargrove rolled into Hawkins straight off the pages of a magazine, he saw an opportunity. Recognized his chance in the pierced left ear and the fashions right out of the Castro district, so he made his move as soon as they were over the bullying thing. His mothers expectations be damned.
So, of course Steve will not be going to dinner with Tammy Thompson, not that he’d ever want to in the first place, his plan was always to go over to Billy’s place.
Besides, it’s fourteenth of February, Valentine’s Day, and Billy’s dad is out of town. They might not be ready for labels, and very rightly so, but Steve is still not going to let an opportunity like that slide. All that wasted romance on girls he wanted nothing to do with could now be freely funneled into the first person he’d ever truly wanted to spend his forever with.
It’s admittedly not their usual speed, but they’d planned a night in for the holiday. Everything about it was probably too intimate for the current status of their relationship, putting Steve between equal nerves and excitement. Anticipation for getting to act like a couple, bring his boy a card and a kiss on the cheek in celebration, couple right with the fear of getting too comfortable in something that the stability of was constantly threatened, be that by societal rule of his mother.
The fact of the matter is though, they didn’t exactly want to be caught together on Valentine’s Day either, even if it was just at a random party. Rumors spread fast in Hawkins, Steve’d been around that all his life and learned it doubly well since his most recent breakup, so they both agreed it was best to just spend the night alone.
And honestly, Steve was okay with that, actually sort of desperate for that normalcy he’d come to develop with Billy since they’d started this dating thing, but that hesitation in his chest still lingers. That idea that maybe he should just go through with what his mother wants and leave Billy hanging, since they’re not technically official yet anyways.
It’s a guilty thought to have, but he’s never been the type to be able to completely disregard what his parents think, especially when it comes to this. To the one thing he’d fucking failed at doing right countless times; being their perfect son who’d follow every rule and continue on the family legacy before he had time to grow into his own life.
Still, he’d really hate to lose Billy over something so trivial, and he thinks he’d hate it even more to be hitched to some random chick he’d end up either hating or leaving anyways, so, as it stands, he’s headed for Cherry Lane.
He tosses his stupid, and probably poorly thought out, little drugstore gifts in the shapes of cartoon hearts and withering roses into his backseat, and drives the familiar route to Billy’s house. Not that he’d stopped there often, the same authoritarian whose absence meant tonight was possible the very reason he didn’t usually come out this way, but, every so often, Billy’d need him to come by.
He’d have just one too many to drink while they were out and need dropped off a little closer to home, or maybe he’d be a little extra lonely, in need, and beg Steve to actually come in, again only on days when it was safe. All the same, Steve gets there without any extra stress to add on top of that tightness in his chest, that uncomfortable mixture of longing and fear that washes heavy over him.
He powers through the anxiety and marches right over to Billy’s window, standing on his toes to reach the pane just above his head and tapping on the glass with his knuckles, knowing the other boy would be nearby. Waiting up for him, even if it still took him a moment to answer, just enough of a pause to not seem like he isn’t eager.
Steve smiles wide as the bottom finally slides up, a groggy looking blonde peeking out down at him, “Could’ve used the door, H. Neil’s not home.”
“Yeah, I know. Thought this’d be more romantic.” Billy pauses for a second, like he’s processing what Steve said, before an equal smile cracks across his face, extending a hand down to Steve and remarking, “Get your ass in here.”
The first thing Steve does, once he pulls himself up into the room with only minor effort, is thrust those cheesy gifts he’d brought out towards the other boy. He has no words, just a slightly flushed, overly self-confident expression he hopes reads a little cooler than it sounds.
Billy thankfully doesn’t freak out, doesn’t tear the card in half or smash the flowers into the carpet like the more anxious parts of Steve’s mind convinced himself was a possibility. He just looks down at what’s in his hands, clearly not knowing what to say other than, after another moments pause, “You goin’ soft on me, Harrington?”
Steve shrugs, adding to make himself sound like he’s on Billy’s level or to make him laugh, he isn’t sure, “You wish, Hargrove. These were supposed to be for some chick.”
“Ah, but you still decided to give them to me.” Billy smirks, licks his teeth, takes another step forward. They’re teasing around something, literally. Pulling pigtails like they do best.
“Who else would? You know, I consider myself quite the charitable guy.”
One more step, Billy mutters, close enough that Steve can count the freckles on his nose, feel the hitch in his breath when Billy says, “I consider you an obnoxious asshole.”
It’s Steve who makes the first move from there, closing that tiny gap that was left between them to connect their lips, an open-mouthed kiss he presses forward into until Billy’s knees buckle and they both fall back against his bed. Hands wander, the kiss deepens, passions dance. That’s the way it always is with Billy, since the very first time he’d grabbed Steve a little too rough and kissed him the same way.
They’re awkward and they’re a little clashy but Steve at least gets absolutely lost in it. Could just sit and make out with him all day and never notice that the world kept turning without them. It’s what drew him in and just one of the many things that kept him around. Kept the idea in his heart so solid that Billy was his one.
He’s glad he chose this. Any lingering regrets melting away with his fears of approaching Billy so vulnerably. So demanding of something he wasn’t sure they were ready to have.
Still, in the moment, once his thoughts wander back to the warm hands under his shirt, the tongue halfway down his throat, he breaks it off. As much as he could lose track of everything, he can tell things are probably going to go further tonight, it is a special occasion after all, and he wants to be ready for that.
Steve pushes up off the bed, off of Billy, wandering towards the bookshelves where Billy lines up his music. If he is finally going to give up that one last milestone, he tells himself the music will ground him, keep his thoughts from wandering. From assuming the sex is all they’ll ever amount to just like all his other partners did.
Billy lacks the context of that internal dilemma though, throwing an arm dramatically over his face and complaining, “Where’re you goin’?”
“Need a soundtrack. Don’t like the quiet.” For a moment, Steve wishes he’d thought of this sooner and brought his own, because as he pushes through the stacks of tapes, it’s all the stuff he’s been bitching about Billy turning off every time he’s in his car, “God, do you have anything in here that’s not for crazy metalheads?”
Billy sits up on his elbows, interjecting, his tone a whine, “Why the hell’s it matter what the music is? Jus’ pick something.”
“Because it’s Valentine’s Day, Bills.” Steve rolls his eyes, muttering as he pushes yet another row of tapes out of the way,  “I’ll keep it in my pants if the only option is this garbage.”
Billy sighs heavily, definitely playing up the drama on purpose, but he gives Steve a clue in so he’ll stop stalling already, “Third row from the front. Far left.”
Steve follows his directions with his finger, smearing dust off of older I played tapes at the back, landing on a particular mix. It’s half played. The title is scratched on in blue pen, but instead of being numbered like most of the rest of his mixtapes are, as Steve had come to learn, this one simply has a picture of a crown and a heart scribbled next to it. Something something along Steve.
He flips it around, can tell Billy is flustered by the idea of him hearing it, or even holding itx if the flush that's started creeping up his neck under Jose golden curls that spill over his shoulders is any indication. “What is this, B?”
“What you wanted.” Billy grumbles, crossing his arms over his chest and almost demanding, “Just get your ass back over here.”
But Steve is distracted, slotting the cassette into the clunky, beat-up player, standing in place until the static cuts through into music. He doesn’t recognize the song, it’s some disco era love song. Leo Sayer maybe.
Doesn’t matter, because Billy is embarrassed by it all the same, and Steve is going to milk that for all it’s worth. He knows the tape was for him, and that he was also never supposed to find it. It’s a touching gesture really, but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t have something to tease Billy about on a night when he brought him fucking flowers.
He sways to the music a little, making Billy groan and put his head in his hands, “What are you doing, Stevie?”
He just laughs a little, does a little turn in the center of the room. Not really dancing as much as he is teasing his boyfriend about his sappy secret taste in seventies love songs.
Billy, now blushing about as red as the roses on his nightstand, hooks his fingers through Steve’s belt loops, tugging him back over, interrupting his little moment. Steve lets Billy pull him where he wants him, which is in his lap.
Billy holds an arm around Steve’s waist, kissing him again before they have time to say anything else. Because really, they don’t need words. Not right now.
There’s a distinct lack of the heat they had before though. No expectations this time, no next steps behind this particular union. Steve likes it that way. Likes the feeling of warmth and love and appreciation of the moment. It’s why he came here tonight. It’s why Billy makes him feel special.
Steve realizes then, that he can’t deny it anymore; He’s fully in love with Billy Hargrove.
When the time comes to take a breath, it’s Steve who pulls back, when Billy leans in again, pressing their foreheads together as a sort of reminder that he needs a minute. He can’t help the loose smile that crosses his face then, “Who would've guessed that Billy Hargrove was such a romantic?”
Billy returns it, somehow almost bashful, even though he’d initiated this, “There’s lots’a things you don’t know about me.”
“Like what?” Steve urges him along playfull, genuinely making Billy stop and think.
That’s yet another thing about the two of them. The charm between them doesn’t come so easy as it does in other settings. It’s never that same practiced shtick they have to put on for all the pretty girls and watching eyes, they keep each other on their toes, in a challenging, complete sort of way. In a way that almost says- I’ll always keep trying to be my best for you.
Billy hums, trying his damndest to be cheesy back if his lopsided smile says anything, “Like.. how I got a hundred numbers my first week in town and still chose you.”
“Pfft, I could’ve guessed that one. No one would pass me by if they had the chance.” It makes them both laugh, soft chuckles drowned out by the continuous music from the stereo, it’s natural setting just a little too loud because of the double speakers. Steve prompts further, “Try again.”
“Okay. Bet you have no idea how much I love you.”
There’s a pause. The tape clicks as the ribbon runs out. Billy’s room is suddenly silent.
If they haven’t even officially used the word ‘boyfriend,’ they definitely haven't said those words out loud yet. Steve had just come to terms with it in his head. Neither of them were ready for that.
“Did you just say-“ Steve starts, leaning back to look at more of Billy, who at the same time almost instantly interrupts with, “-I did.”
“I thought we weren’t-“ Again Steve tries, but the same thing happens, Billy cutting him off, his voice increasingly shaky, “-I didn’t mean to go too far.”
“You didn’t, I jus-“ Once more, “-I’m an idiot H. Was trying to be sly and it just sorta, slipped out and I-“
“Billy. Listen to me.” Steve raises his tone just a little, firm enough to interrupt the panic he knows is taking root in the other boy's thoughts, but gentle enough it won’t register as condescending.
“Just spit it out, H.” Billy starts, mumbling once he realizes he’s doing the same thing, meaning not listening, “Sorry.”
“No, s’okay. Just wanna talk about it.” Steve slides out of Billy’s lap, the position sort of inappropriate for this type of conversation, settling beside him so they can talk more comfortably, “I’m not like, mad that you said it. I’ve kinda.. wanted you to for a while actually.”
Billy looks at him, a reflection of shock and confusion, the look of someone who’s too busy blaming themself to hear the truth, “We’ve only been together for like, a month though, Steve.”
“I know, but you can’t tell me this isn’t special. I’ve at least known it was since the first time I saw you.” Steve tries, but Billy's face contorts again, his eyes narrowing and his smile fading even deeper into a frown, this time taking it the wrong way, “I tell you how I feel and you’re trying to show me up now?”
“No! I told you to just listen. You’re throwing me off. Just- lemme start over.” Steve shakes his head, feeling Billy's sharpened gaze follow his every move. He sighs and tries from the beginning, “I know it feels sort of like we’re rushing things, but it’s just different with you, Billy. It’s like, I feel like this is actually where I want to be, and like I always want you to be with me. Like I’m drawn to you all the time and I can’t wait for the next time I get to kiss your stupid face.”
Billy gets it, finally, “So.. like you love me.”
Steve hesitates at the wording, finding it just as hard to admit those feelings, mostly because of the last time he did, “Yeah, just like that. And I do.”
“Say it then.” Billy shifts closer, physically and in the conversation, intense and passionate. It gives Steve the impression he’s had a similar experience as he did.
“I’ll save it for a special moment.” Steve promises, half-way between joking and deflecting. The way Billy’s face crumbles sways him though, “..And seeing as tonight’s Valentines Day, And we’re here all alone..”
Steve leans forward and kisses him again softly, muttering against the warmth of Billy’s lips, a promise made all the more personal by the gesture, “Love you, Billy.”
When he pulls away again, the tension has gone again. Billy deadpans, though clearly not meaning it, “You’re a dick.”
“Aw, but you love it.”
“No shit, I said it first.”
“Still can’t believe that. I thought I was supposed to be the romantic one. I even brought you flowers.”
“Just had to throw you off your game.” Billy shrugs comfortably, their entire tone finally having shifted more to genuinely being able to laugh at themselves and each other, the motive of getting under the other’s skin seemingly dissipated by their mutual declaration, painful as it was.
“Say it again and it just might work.”
“I can’t. S’a heat of the moment thing.” It’s Steve this time who pouts, glassy eyes and pretty puffy lips demanding something more from Billy, who caves, “Fine. Don’t make those eyes at me. I’m already in love with you.”
Steve shakes his head, between being encouraging and just being plain stubborn, “You’re talking around it again. Just say I love you.”
“I’m tired of just talkin’. We’ve only got like, two hours left tops ‘til you’ve gotta be far away from here and we’re wastin’ it. Why don’t we do something?”
“Something like..?” Steve prompts, one eyebrow raised, the expression and the question both making Billy chuckle warmly, and counter with, “You really gonna make me say it? Just get back over here, pretty boy, ‘n I’ll show ya.”
“Hm. Shouldn’t you reset the tape first?”
“You’re never gonna let me live tonight down are ya?”
“Never.”

Ok calm down :/
Can I share one of my more... idiotic and naive thoughts?
If the Olympics had gone smoothly, would this be happening so soon? What if Kamila had her 15 minutes of teenage fame but in a positive way? What if there was no doping scandal and she went and skated and got her gold medal? Would Putin need to be so hyper with Ukraine? Wouldn't he have waited a few weeks so the whole country could bask in Kamila's glory? Isn't that Putin's whole ideology? "Sports! Russia! Winning!" They spend a lot of money on sports. But they spend the most money on figure skating. They spend enough money on figure skating to fix the entire sport. The ISU (International Skating Union) is basically run by the Kremlin.
Yes, Russia still won figure skating gold. But Kamila was the Chosen One. And she was persecuted by Jealous Westerners. Or was she? RusFed (Figure Skating Federation of Russia) was supposed to label Kamila's December sample as priority, and they didn't. That's why it took 6 weeks to reveal the positive test. That's why it was cinematically revealed the day after she skated in the Beijing Olympic team skate.
Kamila was the ultimate Chosen One Champion. What if she won women's figure skating gold despite the Persecution and Lies from Jealous Westerners? What if the Jealous Westerners denied her all her gold medals? That could definitely stir up enough toxic nationalism to get all of Russia behind anything Putin wanted to do.
But Kamila Valieva is a human teenager and not a perfect political tool. So the pressure and media got to her and she fell and placed fourth and that was that. Russia's new queen of the ice and national symbol is... mousy little Anna Shcherbakova. Well, that wasn't the plan. She wasn't the Chosen One. But it's better to crown the loyal good girl Anna than the feisty rebellious Sasha Trusova. Since Plan A had completely failed, they had to at least promote good Russian values.
Anyway, as far as figure skating is concerned, not one Russian is happy no matter who they're fans of. Sasha Trusova fans are as pissed off as she is. Anna Shcherbakova fans are sad because even though she won, she looked miserable and her coaches don't care about her. And Kamila fans are distraught. It's not exactly the righteous fiery nationalism Eteri/ISU/Kremlin/Putin/whoever was trying to fix.
Oh well. No perfect champion to represent Russian Glory. No perfect Olympic persecution narrative. Just a lot of messy shit. Just a lot of Russians watching Sasha Trusova's breakdown. Lots of Russians watching the rebel scream at her Putin-like coach "You knew! You knew everything!" 😬
So Putin goes "whatever. Enough of these little girls. Fixing skating and taunting the IOC is just my little side project. Time for Ukraine."

Had Eun been lying?
Did she say that to give herself an excuse for falling for prince Taehyung? To say that a prince can fall in love with a concubine since it happened to you too?
But she didn't strike you as a liar. Naive and foolish, yet kind and honest.
No, she must have told the truth.
But then who was it? You hadn't spent a lot of time with the princes, the only two that you'd even consider to have feelings for you would be Yoongi and Jimin, but only because they were the only ones that you've done more than just sleep together.
As for princes Hoseok and Jeongguk.. you assumed they weren't the ones, what you have had was purely sexual.
No matter how hard you thought about it, you could not come up with an answer. Because it simply didn't make sense. None of them knew you enough to fall in love with you.. it was ridiculous.
You let out a heavy sigh and pressed your hands onto your face, wanting to scream into them for it all suddenly being so complicated.
What happened to your mission?
It needed to be a priority from now on, you had to see the king as soon as possible or this would all escalate.
You immediately sat up when the door to your room got pushed open, your eyes wide when you saw..
“Prince Taehyung?” you got up, bowed and then furrowed your brows, “Eun's room is..-”
“I know, I've been there often enough,” he interrupted you with a half-grin, “Would you mind taking a little walk with me?”
“Now..- you mean.. right now?” your eyes fell on the darkness outside, then you looked back at him, “Really?”
“It's a full moon tonight,” he had been intimidating before, but now he wasn't like that at all. He had a kind smile on his face, that brightened when he extended his hand, “What do you say?”
“I should get changed first, this isn't the proper attire one should wear when going on a stroll with a prince.”
“Nobody will see us... and besides... you don't need clothes for what I have planned.”
Oh, wow.
Is anyone surprised? Not you, that's for sure.
Of course he came for what everyone else came here for. Not that you were upset by this, you knew your place here and, unlike some, you didn't think of yourself as something special, not even after Eun's story.
“Well, alright then,” you didn't even grab a jacket when walking outside, but with the warm season that had finally arrived, you didn't need it anyway.
In fact, now was the perfect time to be outside.
Throughout the day, it was simply too hot to do anything, but with the darkness and the light breeze, it felt.. refreshing.
Taehyung led you through the palace grounds, not even acknowledging any of the guards that you two passed and they didn't seem to care either, only straightened their backs to show their respect.
Not even when he led you outside through a passage that you didn't know  –  but would have liked to have known, because getting in would have been a lot easier – did they care.
“Where are you taking me?”
“Are you afraid?” he chuckled a little and stopped walking for a moment, only to turn around and hold out his hand to you once again. Only that this time, you reached for it, “Don't be. I'll protect you.”
He sure as fuck was smooth, you could see why Eun liked him so much. He was a real proper gentleman.
“Not afraid, just curious. I figured that for what you had planned, you might just take me to your rooms.”
“Is that what the rest of my brothers have done?” he snorted when you simply smirked, “Figures. They can be so boring. But no, this isn't purely about what you have in mind.”
“Oh?” that piqued your interest.
Taehyung didn't respond right away, it was as if he wanted to think about his words carefully and you were glad that he did when he said what he said, while the two of you continued wandering through the woods, the moonlight lighting your path.
“Eun is a very beautiful and kind woman. One that I've come to appreciate. Her.. interest in me, it flatters me, it really does. But she's just like all the other women that we have in court. Focused on the goal that she was tasked with.”
“Your majesty, I don't think that Eun is as power hungry as some of the others.”
“That is true, she really isn't. But her goal still is to have an heir... in her case, with me,” he looked to you, his beautiful smile back on his face, “But that isn't your goal... right, (Y/N)?”
Your mouth opened, immediately wanting to tell him that you weren’t with child yet because of his eldest brother, but it seemed as if Taehyung didn't even care about the reasoning.
Maybe he even liked that he didn't know, maybe he liked that mysterious veil that you had surrounding you. That you had an agenda and he didn't know what it was. Which should have been dangerous, but he didn't seem to look at it that way.
“Ah.. here we are.”
What you saw in front of you was like straight out of a fairy tale.
A small, but beautiful stream that led into a pond that was so clear, that you could see the moon's reflection in a way that could make someone think it was right there, ready for you to hold it in your hands and admire it from up-close. This, is what every women in your village had as her dream of a place where she'd lose her virginity. In a romantic place such as this one, with a man as beautiful and kind as Prince Taehyung. Maybe even exactly this fantasy with this prince...
“It's beautiful,” you let out a breath you had been holding, then smiled, “So... peaceful.”
“That's why it's my favorite spot. The castle grounds can be too much sometimes, so I like to come here when I need to think or just want to find inspiration.”
“For?”
“A lot of things,” Taehyung shrugged, kneeling down and holding his hand into the water, “Drawing, singing... anything that I'm in the mood for.”
You merely continued smiling, even when he got back up and walked over to you, cocking his head to the side, “It's a little cold, but... want to go for a swim?”
“Now?!”
Taehyung couldn't help but chuckle at your reaction, then took two steps back and pulled his shirt over his head, revealing his beautiful upper body to you.
His proportions were... out of this world.
“I'll keep you warm, I promise.”
It's not like you could do much, because before you knew it, he was already naked and in the water and all you could do was watch with an open mouth, before eventually taking off your clothes yourself.
You wouldn’t say no to this.
This certainly wasn't how you had pictured this night to go, you had thought you'd sleep through the night in your warm bed, not swim naked with a prince in a pond.
But Taehyung's expression went from happy, to absolutely ecstatic when you actually did join him. Like he hadn't expected you to.
“Cold?” to your surprise, he actually kept his distance at first. You thought he'd be all over you, but no.
Damn... no wonder Eun liked him so much.
You really had the wrong impression of him.
“A little, but... it's kind of nice with the warm air.”
It wasn't very deep, you could easily stand and keep yourself upright, but just like him, you didn't move.
“I really don't know what it is about you that makes all of us go crazy. We all try to figure you out, but nobody can. Maybe my father saw something that we couldn't see just yet.”
“Or maybe it's not that deep,” you gave him a looped smile, “I appreciate that you all see something in me, but there really isn't anything to tell that makes me any more special than any of the other girls. I am just like them, I was chosen to please you, I was chosen to help you with your heirs and that is the end of the story.”
Taehyung slowly came closer, but not close enough for you to feel his breath on your face, “Then why does it sound so unconvincing when you say that?”
You were playing a dangerous game here. The longer you spent with them, the more they figured that there was something going on with you and Taehyung seemed to have his suspicions already, even if, right now, they weren't the right ones.
You had to get him to believe that you were there for one reason and one reason only... at least for now.
So you were ultimately the one that swam closer to him, so close that you could wrap your arms and legs around him, smiling when he wrapped his arms around your body to hold you with a grin, “Why do you care so much about a concubine, my prince?”
“Because, my dear (Y/N), you are the most interesting person we've ever had at the palace,” his hands were under your ass, but he didn't grope you or anything, they literally just acted as a seat for you, “I grow tired of people real quick, of concubines in particular. But you..,” he shook his head and smiled honestly at you, “..I look into your eyes and I see a story. I want to know what it is.”
“Then maybe you should just close your eyes,” you chuckled, “I can help you with that.”
And indeed, the moment you reached in between your bodies and you grabbed his length, he closed his eyes and let out a happy sigh.
“Tell me, then, your majesty,” you leaned in closer as you began to stroke him under the water, your mouth now right in front of his, “Would you like to be inside me?”
You didn't expect him to laugh at that, but it only added to his charm, “I suppose this is the kind of talk that my brothers appreciate, hm?” when you looked taken aback, he nodded and grabbed your wrist, pulling it up and placing both of your arms over his shoulders, “I want to make you feel good, (Y/N).”
Well, this was a surprising turn of events. You had been sure that your romantic time with him would now come to an end as your hand would have guided him to your entrance in the water, but instead, Taehyung walked the short distance to shore with you, so that he could lift you up onto solid ground again and then climbed out of the water after you.
All you could do was watch with curious eyes as he pulled your legs towards him, him now on his knees, lifting one of your legs up and beginning to kiss it.
This was very... new. But you felt comfortable with him and so you let him do it, actually lied back into the grass and just relaxed.
You could feel his kisses traveling higher and higher, until he was kissing the insides of your thighs.
That was ultimately the moment that you looked down at him with shock.
Taehyung chuckled.
“Close your eyes, beautiful. I promise, you'll enjoy it.”
You had a rough guess of what he was about to do, but when his lips kissed between your legs, you still let out a surprised moan.
This was very new to you, you didn't even know that men did this or that this was pleasurable for woman. But fuck...
“I've always wanted to do this with a woman that I cared about... that I wanted to understand how beautiful and perfect she was,” he whispered and kissed your sensitive nub once again, “Tell me when something doesn't feel good. I want you to scream in pleasure tonight.”
That wasn't hard, because the moment he started sucking, you were already fisting your hands in his hair and letting out one moan after the other.
Taehyung wrapped his arms around your legs and pulled you closer to him, fully eating you out now.
For the fact that he said he did this for the first time, you had absolutely zero complains. His tongue brushing through your folds, his lips sucking on your sensitive spot... it was perfect. And despite you having enjoyed your time with his brothers, what Taehyung did right now made you feel very different.
In fact, after just a few minutes, a sensation that you had never felt before started rushing through your body and you couldn't help but moan: “Don't stop... please,” again and again, now pushing his head closer into you.
This only made Taehyung suck harder, even his teeth were now gently biting down on your sensitive nub and you finally let out a loud scream that ended up scaring a few birds away from nearby trees.
Taehyung wanted to continue, but when you began shaking, he stopped and kissed his way up your body instead.
You were completely out of breath when he was finally on your eye level.
“How'd I do?” he grinned.
You let out a laugh, a small blush spreading on your cheeks, though your face already felt flushed, so it probably didn't make a difference, “You want me to say it, don't you?”
“Absolutely.”
Your legs felt like jelly, but you still wrapped them around his body and pulled him towards you, your arms around his neck, “Then continue making me feel good, and I might.”
See, this is why he liked you so much. You were a challenge and he didn't get those very often.
Taehyung simply smirked and aligned himself with your entrance, both of you moaning loudly when he slid inside you so easily.
“What... you're so... wet.”
He made a mental note to himself here: always pleasure a woman with your tongue beforehand. You'll be a happier man afterwards, too.
And so the two of you made love in the middle of the forest, on the grass next to a pond with the moonlight shining down on you and being your light.
And it was no lie when you told him afterwards: “You've been the best lover I've ever had.”

Ninjago fairy tale AU’s because I can’t sleep
Lloyd: little red riding hood
Zane: Snow White
Echo: Rapunzel
Jay: the little mermaid
Kai: beauty and the beast
Cole: Goldilocks and the three bears
Little green riding hood
This was going to be Kai but Lloyd fit better
Oh my gosh like the fandoms expectations for the green ninja
Lloyd was told by his Uncle Wu to go pick up some tea from Mystake
On his way back, he keeps running into Akita, who’s trying to warn him of danger, but Lloyd can’t understand her
The danger is Harumi is following him. Lloyd doesn’t see her
When Lloyd reaches the monastery, Harumi is there, pretending to tend the place
She says that she’ll take the tea to Wu, and Lloyd is give her the tea, when Akita comes and scares Harumi off
Akita sniffs out Wu and after she finds him, reveals herself as a human
Then they all live happily ever after (except Harumi) the end
Snow White
Zane is the son of the oh so famous Dr. Julien, the royal inventor, but the King (ice elemental from the elemental alliance) takes a liking to Zane, and adopts him when Dr. Julien dies
Now Zane is the prince woo
The King also takes a liking to the ice emperor, but that was a mistake, because he sneakily kills the king and takes the throne for himself
“Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the coldest of them all?”
It’s Zane
So IE tells Vex to go kill Zane, but Vex doesn’t actually know how to kill a nindroid so he just tells him to run into the forest
That’s where Zane meets the 7 dwarves
Hungry (Cole) Chatty (Jay) Confused (teen Wu) Flirty (Kai) Grumpy (Morro) Happy (Echo) and Sleepy (Lloyd)
Later he meets P.I.X.A.L. who immediately catches his heart
The IE finds out that Zane is still alive, and decides that since Vex didn’t help him, he was going to have to kill Zane himself
He disguises himself and goes into the forest
He gives Zane an apple that gives him a fatal virus, but Zane doesn’t realize it’s bad so he dies (wow shocker)
Then the IE falls off a cliff
The 7 dwarves hold a small funeral and invite P.I.X.A.L.
P.I.X.A.L. realizes that Zane isn’t dead dead, so she kisses him and he comes back to life
They go back to the kingdom and Zane is crowned king, and P.I.X.A.L is queen. The dwarves are advisors
Then they all live happily ever after the end
Echo
Dr. Julien didn’t want Zane to know he was building a little brother for him, because he was getting sick, and thought he was going to die soon, and he didn’t want Zane to be sad at his brother and his father not being around
So he struck up a deal with Samukai the Skeleton
Samukai would give him a private place to build Echo, and a potion to help him get better if Samukai got to keep Echo
Not having much of an option, Dr. Julien agreed, hoping that Echo and Zane would find each other on their own
Echo was built and Samukai kept him in a lighthouse
Dr. Julien tells Zane of his missing brother
Events of Snow White (seen above) ensue and now Zane is king yay
Morro is a wanted thief and while getting away, he runs into what he thinks is an abandoned lighthouse
Only to find a rusty nindroid
Echo explains he’s always wanted to see the real world but he never got to
Morro sneaks him out and they head to the kingdom to celebrate the king’s birthday
Echo realizes that he’s the king’s brother, and he a Morro go back to ask Samukai questions
Samukai does an exposition dump, and stabs Morro, before Morro simply blows him away
Morro dies but he’s a ghost so it’s okay
They return to the kingdom and Echo FINALLY meets Zane
Morro and Echo start dating
Then they all live happily ever after the end
The Little Mermaid
Jay was always fascinated with little toys he found from human shipwrecks
He would often go on and on about what he thought they were all used for
His father may have been King Cliff, but Jay was practically raised by Ed and Edna, who taught him about the human world
His mom is dead rip
He goes to the surface and finds Nya, who he immediately falls in love with
He stays hidden, but sings Nya a little song
The ship almost wrecks, but Jay saves Nya. She’s barely waking up to his song again before he swims off. She wants to know who that voice was
Jay finds a locket with Nya and her brother in it, and he wants to take it to Nya, so he tells his dad
His dad isn’t happy that Jay fell in love with a human
After another fight with his father, Jay goes off and gets lost, but is found by Nadakhan
Nadakhan says he can make Jay human, all he has to do is wish, and Jay gets 3 wishes total. After the third wish, Nadakhan gets something of Jay’s
Jay’s first wish is to be human, his second is that he won’t be able to speak because he wants to save his 3rd wish
Nadakhan grants Jay’s wishes and Jay goes to learn to become human. He gives the locket to Nya
Nya tells him about her brother’s romantic escapades (see below) but she also tells him that she has to get married soon or she might not be able to support her career in technological advancement
She has her sights (or rather ears) set on the lovely voice she heard that night, but Jay can’t tell her that that was him
They meet Nadakhan who has come to get Jay’s third wish, but Jay won’t use it
Nadakhan says that if Jay doesn’t use his third wish by sundown the next day, he was going to kill Nya
Nadakhan uses magic to sound like Jay, and Nya has to marry him (she’s under a spell)
The next day, Jay still hasn’t made his third wish by sundown and Nya starts dying
Jay wishes her to stay alive, and says even if Nadakhan takes his legs and he never gets to see Nya again, he’ll be fine, just as long as she lives
Nadakhan grants the wish, but the spell on Nya fades away and she falls in love with Jay
I don’t know what to do with Nadakhan, I think I’ll have him just take the boat and leave
Then they all live happily ever after the end
Flirty and the Beast
Kai is the biggest flirt in their village
Everyone knows he’s just a blacksmith who likes fighting, but men and women alike can’t get enough of his flirtatious exploits
Though he’s never actually known what real love is. He also wants to go out on an adventure, but the closest he’s ever gotten was books
One day, Nya wants to take her samurai x project to ninjago city, and Kai tells her to have fun
While Cryptor (literally couldn’t find a better villain please work with me) is trying to get Kai to date him, Kai receives a message from Nya that she’s in trouble
Kai runs off to try and save her and that’s when he finds out that Nya’s been taken prisoner by an anacondrai looking person
She introduces herself as Skylor, and she says she’ll let Nya go if Kai stays with her
Kai agrees and Nya goes back to their village to get help
Nya tells Cryptor about Kai, and he just laughs it off, because Nya’s a women, and all women are crazy, but he decides that if Nya is going crazy, he could hold it against Kai
But he can’t find Kai
Back at Skylor’s mansion castle, Kai gets curious and finds the staff making Skylor a snake
After she scares him, he runs into the woods and is attacked by wolves, but Skylor saves him
They star falling in love after that
Kai asks Skylor if he could visit Nya, and Skylor reluctantly lets him go for good, thinking he might like that most
Kai also tells them of Skylor, finally realizing he loves her, and Cryptor decides to get rid of her, because “if I can’t have Kai, no one can”
They fight
After stopping Cryptor (Nya was able to shut him off) Kai shucking finally kisses Skylor and she turns into a Normal human
Wanting to help Kai go on and adventure, Skylor takes him, and Nya on a trip to visit a beach (queue previous story)
then they live happily ever after the end
Noir locks
Cole never wanted to sing and dance, but he loved watching the lumberjacks
One day he followed them out to a part of the woods he was unfamiliar with
He explores a bit more and finds a house. There seems to be fresh food, he didn’t eat breakfast and was starving, so he sneaks in
There’s cake
After eating the vanilla cake instead of the chocolate or strawberry, Cole decides to take a nap. He woke up super early to catch the lumberjacks, and walking for so long made him exhausted
He finds the most luxurious bed he’s ever slept in
He’s woken up to a high pitched scream
He sees an ivory and gold colored bear and starts screaming too
Two more bears come up the stairs
After they all calm down, the bears introduced themselves as Vania, Seliel, and Kataru
Kataru says his sister is usually here as well but she was out doing something else
Cole asks what the heck is going on and why there were talking bears sleeping in beds and eating cake
Vania explains that her father cursed her and Seliel, and Kataru was just a bear formling
Cole decides to see if he can do anything about it, so Vania leads him to her fathers mine
Cole try’s to reason with Vangelis, but the king won’t have it
Vania explains that Cole needs to shave Vangelis’s beard because that’s where he stores his magic
Cole does, but Vania and Seliel are still bears
Vangelis later explains that his magic is actually from a magic skull and he just tells people that it’s in his beard because he wants to throw them off
Cole tries to steal the skull, and Vangelis catches him and turns Cole into a bear
After fighting Vangelis and ultimately getting the skull, Cole runs off
He takes the skull back to Kataru who destroys it
Vania, Cole and Seliel turn back
Not having any real magic anymore, and just being a horrible person, Vangelis is knocked off the throne and Vania takes over
Then they all live happily ever after the end

could I request headcannons for noya, kuroo and bokuto where they have an s/o who’s very short (around 5’1) but they really don’t mind being short and actually prefer it? ahh i see so many ppl here who don’t really like being short but i just,,, i just vibe with it LOL thanks in advance ! 💕
Short S/O Headcanons - Nishinoya, Kuroo, and Bokuto
A/n: You can absolutely request that! I am so very glad y’all are looking for some Noya content because I love that boy with every fiber of my being wanted to write something for him since he’s such a great character :p - hope you like it!
Nishinoya
Let’s be honest: Nishinoya doesn’t give a shit how tall or short you may be
He is the living embodiment of “All women are queens” and will live by that code for the rest of his days
But with you happening to be just his size - and actually a bit shorter! - it makes him incredibly happy
The fact that you’re totally chill with being (definitely) on the shorter side makes him all the more glad because he loves that you see your worth based on something more than pure height
Adores picking you up and spinning you around because your feet won’t awkwardly scrape against the ground lmao
You’re both insanely good at playing hide and seek because you can fit into smaller spaces with relative ease
Don’t ask how this situation arose; the Karasuno boys got a bit competitive and wanted to see who was the most stealthy of the club
It took half an hour for them to find you and Noya
Suga got very worried that someone had kidnapped y’all for goodness sake
Poor thing almost had a heart attack when they finally found you both vibing in two lockers right next to each other I kid you not
Expert climber as you’ve learned to improvise, adapt, and overcome the more vertically challenged parts of your daily life
You and Noya have games to see who can reach the top of a shelf the fastest
Winner gets kissies 🥰
Little spoon all day every day; Noya enjoys being the one who gives all the nice big cuddles so it’s not even a question
BLANKETS. BRO. I don’t even know what to say except that being shorter allows you more ability to achieve ultimate blanket coziness
Cause taller people sometimes have trouble with needing to find a certain position to make sure their feet and limbs are all underneath the warmth of that damn thing which can be annoying
On the other hand, you and Nishi deadass roll up into a blanket burrito and sit on the couch together, watching movies and living life ya know
Couple naps everywhere. No joke. On a chair, a couch, beanbag, just...anywhere you can fit comfortably (damn I wish I could do that)
God Noya just loves you holy wow congrats on winning the short king
Kuroo
After years of getting his kneecaps obliterated by Yaku for height comments, Kuroo has been disciplined into not making references to shortness
The fact that you don’t mind it at all though makes him a bit relieved, after having to deal with the libero’s unrelenting aggression for so long
He’s comfortable enough now to use a couple nicknames relating to your height without immediately fearing for his life
Loves loves loves that you’re shorter than him, without a doubt
One of his favorite things is sitting you in his lap and then resting his chin on the top of your head
Most comfortable position for watching television together not gonna lie
SWEATSHIRTS. PERIOD.
You’re basically drowning in how large the captain’s team jacket is on your figure, but it’s perfectly okay because holy wow it’s so freaking warm
Forehead kisses have easily become Kuroo’s specialty. He’s super sweet and gentle as he leans down to quickly press his lips against the crown of your head before heading to practice — absolute perfection
Speaking of routines before practice, he always comes to your classroom prior to the start of warm ups
You’re usually perched on top of your desk, swinging your legs carelessly while you talk to classmates after school, and in comes the Nekoma third year himself
The height difference is a bit less drastic when you’re sitting on top of your desk, which not only makes you look super cute with your feet not touching the ground but allows for optimal kiss height
“Hello, kitten. Fun size. Light of my life,” he greets you, planting numerous kisses on your face between each nickname.
“Hi rooster head, beanstalk-looking ass. How’ve ya been on this fine afternoon?”
God y’all joke and roast each other a LOT, so after a while the height thing definitely comes into play more often than not
Prides on making you feel protected and can very often be found engulfing you in the biggest hugs you could ever imagine
And you’ve basically just disappeared from view in that position
wHaT? WHeRe DiD yOu GO? God I’m sorry I felt the need to-
Bokuto
Where do I even start oh my goodness
He is absolutely enamored with how small you are compared to him
Piggy back rides all the time. On dates, on the way home, in the school halls, you name it
As much as you’re chill with being short, getting the birdseye view on his shoulders is so fun
It’s so cute to him how your eyes light up getting to see everything from up top
Speaking of piggy backs, Bo similarly LOVES throwing you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes
Just runs off with you literally hanging upside down and laughing your ass off
10/10 adorable
Like Kuroo, sweatshirt sharing is a very common occurrence
He thinks sweater paws are the most adorable thing; his heart goes all mushy and he needs to be snapped back into reality
Tell me right now that this man would not go out of his way to buy you a massive animal plushie that’s practically larger than you
“Koutarou, where am I going to put this?”
“In your room, duh”
“It won’t even fit through my front door”
Now it sits in his house to be used at your convenience whenever you’re visiting
The plushie’s name is Captain Cuddles 🥰
Don’t give Capt. too much attention though or else Bo will get depresso 😔
Falling asleep on him is hands down one of the best occurrences for you both
His shoulders are just so broad dude there’s so much space for maximum comfy
Could sleep there for mf hours
And you just look so cute all snuggled up on him that it’s easily become Bokuto’s favorite sight in the world
Resting his cheek on the top of your head whenever he gets bored at school
Koala bear style hugs are just *chefs kiss* perfection with you two
Ultimate pairing at Fukurodani; the good vibes your relationship radiates is unmatched
