@scooprtroopr ur tags on this post inspired a lil something and well, here you go friend <3 / also omg this fits for @steddie-week’s prompt pining! tehe / you can also read it over on ao3 :)
Steve gets that this is how karma works.
You do something bad, you don’t have the best intentions, you trample on one or two people’s feelings selfishly, yadda yadda. Then what do you know? Next month, it’s happening to you. What goes around comes around, right?
That’s how karma works. Steve gets that.
And yet, the sting in the morning when another hookup has crept out in the night feels so goddamn unshakeable. It slices through his ego, hitting every feeling on the way, and cuts right down the bone, and it hurts.
But it’s karma though, Steve knows that. He’s left a girl more than once or twice, and snuck back out the window he had crept into. Stumbled back to his car in the early morning hours.
(Steve pointedly ignores the old part of him that was- is so hesitant to stay — after the iciness of his first ever hookup, who had wrinkled her nose at the thought of him staying the night.
Who had patted him on the cheek in a near condescending way, a girl the year above him, and said, “Don’t overstay your welcome, yeah?”)
So when the other side of the bed is empty when he wakes, he knows he’s lost another game of ‘who can sneak out on who?’
Which Steve hates — it’s why he stopped going over to his dates house and instead started bringing them back to his. Hoping they might read that his invitation to stay the night extended right out til breakfast. Hell, til lunch if they wanted.
No one has come close to overstaying their welcome in the Harrington house.
Empty sheets rip a new ache in Steve’s chest and he groans, a pitiful noise because— of course, he hasn’t stayed.
Karma has the biggest bone to pick with Steve Harrington and he was really hoping it would be done after all these years. Evidently not.
But… Steve can’t help how much more this one hurts because this one was Eddie.
Steve tries to not let regret coil in his gut. Rolling over he buries his face into his pillow, eyes scrunched shut as he tries to think it over logically. Rationally. Ignores the burning in his throat.
Maybe he’s a fool for thinking Eddie would be different from the past.
But the buildup — before there had been flirting, there had been friendship, proper company between the two of them where there were no expectations. That may very well be due to the fact both of them were dudes but… Steve was so sure. So much of him believed Eddie would still be here when he woke up.
Steve huffs a loud sigh into the pillow. Pretends his chest doesn’t hurt a little bit.
“It’s fine,” He murmurs to himself, voice thick with sleep. His fists clench into the sheets for a moment. “It’s fine.”
He drags himself up and out of bed. Tugs on some stray sweats hanging over the back of his desk chair and ducks into the bathroom. Staring in the mirror, hair tousled and eyes still sleepy, Steve eyes the shower through the reflection. He should, probably, but he might get stuck on a loop in there.
Where did he go wrong this time? Why didn’t he stay? Why didn’t any of them stay? Why did—
Steve splashes cold water on his face instead, rubbing probably a bit too forcefully at his eyes. He spies the faint pink shape of Eddie’s lips, a mark left on his neck. His fingers grace over it lightly, softly, like a lover would.
Memories hazed with lust remind him of how it had got there, Eddie’s body on his, Eddie’s hands in his hair, Eddie— without thinking, Steve scrubs at the skin harshly. He wishes it wasn’t there. Wishes there wasn’t any remnant of Eddie left behind.
Steve doesn’t need any mementos to remind him he’s been left behind again.
He needs food, needs to get on with his day, Steve decides. The bathroom door swings closed behind him and Steve tries his best to wrangle his thoughts as he wanders out to the top of the stairs.
A run. That’s what he needs to clear his head. A long run til his heart is pounding in his chest so hard it hurts, til his muscles start burning, breathes coming too fast and his head is finally fucking quiet. Yep, that’s precisely what he needs to shake the sting of last night.
Steve’s so enwrapped in his head, thoughts swirling, that he get manages to get halfway down the hall to the kitchen before he hears the radio. It’s not loud, just enough to carry out the kitchen. Strange. He doesn’t remember leaving it on last night.
His feet carry him into the kitchen, another yawn creeping up and he rubs at his eyes, blinking a bit blearily and— and stops in his tracks. There’s someone at the stove.
Eddie’s at the stove.
Standing in the morning sunlight, hair lighter than ever, puckered scars along his arms standing out. He’s clearly ransacked Steve’s drawers, a pair of Steve’s plaid pj pants hanging low on his hips, his own softened band tee from yesterday still on. It’s had its sleeves hacked off, the fabric curling up into little rolls. Steve feels his stomach rise halfway up his throat, his hopes going with it. His heart does a strange stumbling pitter-patter.
He must make a noise because suddenly Eddie’s peaking over his shoulder and smiling at him.
“Hey,” Eddie says, shifting a bit to turn more toward him. Steve can see that he’s cooking, something delicious wafting up from the sizzling pan. His chest tightens, pure surprise wrapping around his sternum and gripping - so much, he can’t control the expression on his face.
“Hi,” Steve breathes. He’s still frozen where he is. He stayed. Steve blinks, taking in the scene before him; Eddie has clearly been puttering around, putting together some sort of breakfast. He fucking stayed and he’s cooking.
Eddie takes it the wrong way. He skittishly looks over the benches, covered in his mess, and tugs on the ends of his hair nervously. “I- it’s a mess, I know, I’m real sorry. I was gonna clean it, I just thought you might like…”
He trails off, unable to get a read on Steve’s expression. Steve doesn’t blame him but he can’t fucking stop his chest from feeling like it’s being pulled open, his heart from feeling like it’s soaring. He huffs an awed laugh, a smile curling at his lips.
Eddie deflates a bit in his relief, giving his own smile. He turns back to the stove quickly, giving the skillet a bit of a shake to keep it from burning and Steve draws closer, feet finally moving. Eddie watches him from the corner of his eye, barely biting back his grin as Steve gets closer. He hovers, feels the heat of Eddie’s back they’re so close.
He tries to feel brave — he stayed — and keeps his closeness, peering over Eddie’s shoulder at the skillet on the stove. It’s the Munson Special that Eddie’s cooked a few times for him over at the trailer; eggs, potatoes, shit tons of cheese, maybe a vegetable if he’s feeling healthy.
“Was gonna bring it to you in bed, but,” Eddie laughs, still tinged in nervousness. He sets down the spatula to tuck his hair behind both ears, glancing sideways at Steve as if trying to understand his silence.
He stayed and he cooked and he’s nervous. Steve thinks he might be holding his breath in disbelief, head dizzy with relief. With affection.
Very slowly, Steve’s hands move and, like he’s waiting for Eddie to flinch away, settles then very gently onto Eddie’s waist. His fingers curl into the soft fabric and Eddie makes a little chirp of happiness and leans back.
Leans into Steve a bit, like he wants his touch the morning after everything and Steve releases a shuddering breath, hooking his chin over Eddie’s shoulder. His hands grow a little more bold, sliding around to hug him around the middle.
Eddie’s cheeks have turned pink and his grin hasn’t faltered.
“Made me—” Steve starts, but his voice is a bit raspy. He clears his throat, avoids Eddie’s burning stare. “Y’made me breakfast?”
Eddie nods, his curls brushing against Steve’s cheek as he does. His tummy is warm beneath Steve’s hand and his hair smells good and Steve just wants to burrow into him- he tucks himself closer and is rewarded with a content noise from Eddie.
“That’s not weird, is it?” Eddie asks suddenly, picking up the spatula again and beginning to fiddle needlessly with the food. He flips it once, then again, so it’s on the same side as it was before.
He sounds a bit sheepish when he says, “I’m not sure- I haven’t ever really— I’m actually just gonna shut the hell up before I say anything stupid.”
Steve laughs quietly. His hands tighten around Eddie’s middle, head tilting so he can bury his grin into his shoulder— his heart is going haywire, going a million miles an hour, because karma is finally through with Steve Harrington and he gets to have this.
“S’not weird,” Steve mumbles. He thinks about pressing a kiss into Eddie’s shoulder.
“Ha, you said snot,” Eddie retorts with a childish snort and Steve can’t help it, he laughs at that too, muffled laughter into his t-shirt. Then he presses a kiss to Eddie’s shoulder, quick as lightning. Rests his chin back on it like nothing happened.
Eddie still stiffens just a bit- turns his head just a bit to glance at Steve and fuck, Steve can’t help the way his stomach swoops.
Because Eddie softens him unbearably with those nervous brown eyes, his pink lips twisted as he tries to hold back his grin. Steve’s beginning to understand that both of them seem equally surprised that this is happening.
Eddie’s free hand moves, pausing only briefly in a moment's hesitance, before it covers one of Steve’s on his tummy. It’s cold, much colder than Steve’s, and he covers it with one of his own instinctively.
Eddie’s trembling fingers give him a little squeeze. Steve thinks he must be able to feel how hard his heart is beating from where his chest is pressed against his back. It’s a lot to deal with; this perfect morning in the sun, the soft sound of the radio, the sweet boy in his arms.
They’re both grinning to themselves. Eddie focuses back on the food before him, doing all his work with one hand, and starts a little hum.
The radio switches to a love song.

You heard his feet on the landing of the stairs, and then gentle padding as his bare feet sounded on the carpeted hallway as he made his way to the bedroom. These nights were your favorite— Joseph had made you dinner, cheesy pasta with garlic bread, then you had watched an episode of Succession before getting ready for bed. You could tell that Joe was in a sort of mood that night, the kind of mood where he lit a candle at dinner and kissed you and put on Al Green on his record player. He had asked if you wanted to join him in the shower, but you had declined; you had work in the morning, and a randy shower didn't exactly entail an early sleep.
But then, he rounded the corner and darkened the doorway, and you gulped. He looked good; wet curls on his forehead, singlet covering his beefy build, and those underwear, clinging to every curve just right. And he didn't even seem like he knew what he was doing. Joe rubbed his hair dry on his towel as he came into the bedroom, and he went to his dresser, rooting through the top drawer for some pajama bottoms. The silence was deafening, and damning, because Joe turned to you with an amused look on his face.
"What's wrong, love?" he asked. "Cat got your tongue?" He added a dramatic pout to his plush lips, and, fuck, you just had to kiss him.
"You just look really good," you said softly. "Can't I just look at you?"
"Oh, you want to look?" Joe asked teasingly. Oh. So he was in that sort of mood. "I thought it was rude to stare."
"I'm not staring," you told him. "I'm... Appreciating. Admiring."
"Admiring, eh?" Joe laughed. "What exactly are you admiring?"
"Well..." you started, holding out your hand and tracing the shape of his body in the air. He was certified grade A beef that day, finally having regained the weight he had lost to play Eddie, and you loved his plush hips and thick thighs. "And..." You made a cupping motion with your hand, and Joe let out a sputtered laugh.
"So you're staring at my dick," Joe said, shaking his head mirthfully. "I knew I was nothing but a piece of meat to you."
"No!" you exclaimed. Even though you knew he was joking, you didn't want him to think you were doing that for even a second. "I'm just... You just... Y'know? Just admiring every part of you."
"You're drooling," Joe cajoled. He hung his towel on the back of the door and made his way to the bed, and you watched as he grew closer, finally until he was lingering right next to you, his cloth-covered dick inches from your face. God, he smelled so good, you just wanted to take him then and there.
You leaned forward and placed a kiss on his bulge, looking up at him through your eyelashes to see his reaction, and you were overjoyed to see him slowly close his eyes and take a deep breath. "You gonna suck it or what?" he asked in a low voice, and the hot pressure of need slammed inside you belly. You loved when he got like this.
You readjusted yourself in bed, sitting on your knees to reach him properly, and you tugged him forward by his hips to get him closer. Carefully, you pulled down those black briefs, and his half-hard cock spilled forward. He was thick and heavy, beautiful, and you chuckled lightly at the sight before you. "You trimmed," you giggled, and Joe peeked his eyes open.
"Is that a crime?" he asked, and you slid your hands up his thighs, lightly dragging your nails up.
"No," you said. "I just like your bush."
Joe shrugged. "I'll grow it back out," he said. His hand smoothed your hair back, gathering it all up in a loose grip before he flattened his palm against the back of your head, pulling you towards him. You put an end to your games then, taking the head of his uncut cock into your mouth, lightly sucking, just enough to give him a little bit of pressure. Joe made a quiet noise, a sort of hum of appreciation, and you took him further into your mouth. He tasted good, musky but clean, and you moaned around him as your tongue lavished the thick vein that ran along the bottom of his cock.
"That's it," Joe whispered. "What a good girl... You love sucking my cock, don't you?"
You fluttered your eyelashes at him as an answer and took him deeper, then pulled back and suckled at his head for a moment, just to get a reaction out of him. His hand gripped your hair as he moaned, and he gritted his teeth. "Fuck," he whispered. "I knew you liked what you saw."
You pulled off of him with a gasping breath, letting your hand stroke him from balls to tip. "Did you do it on purpose?" you asked.
"Do what?"
"Dress like this," you asked. "Look so goddamn delicious. You know I can hardly resist you."
"That was the plan," Joe admitted. His stomach flexed when you reached up to cup his balls, and you leaned back in, sucking him down again. You didn't usually like giving blowjobs— you hardly ever went down on past boyfriends— but there was something special about Joe that made you want to swallow down his cock every single day, no matter what. "God, you look so hot like this, darling. Love watching you like this."
You moaned softly, then broke away from him, panting to try to regain the breath that sucking him off has made you lose. Joe didn't hesitate to lean down and kiss you, holding your face as his tongue swirled in your mouth, tasting himself off of you. You scrambled backwards to lay on your back, and you tugged Joe in by his shirt, urging him to lay on top of you. He did exactly as you expected, following you and nudging your legs open as he messily kissed you, and he broke the kiss to look down at you. Panties and a t-shirt (his t-shirt), nothing else.
"Fuck," Joe whispered, and he chuckled. His eyes were stuck on your covered pussy, and he wet his lips with the tip of his tongue when he spotted the damp patch on your panties. "Is this all for me?"
"Yeah," you told him. "F'course it is."
"Jesus, I'm a spoiled man," Joe whispered, kissing you deeply again. His hands scrambled to tug down your panties and expose you to him, and his greedy eyes watched as you opened your legs for him, showing him your wet pussy. Your blood was thrumming in every vein with desire, you needed him so badly, and he flicked his eyes up to yours, those lips of his falling open gently. He kissed you once more, then leaned down to kiss your neck, nibbling softly at your skin before trailing his kisses downwards. Ever downwards he ventured, until his warm breath was fanning across your cunt, and he did not waste any time before he licked at you.
The stubble on his chin and cheeks roughed up your thighs as he ate you out like he had never learned how to do anything else. He sucked at your quivering clit and made you cry out in pleasure, his tongue danced on your hole, he even added his fingers to help open you up. By the time the knot in your belly was straining, he was sucking lewdly and shaking his head, making sure that you felt every inch of his fingers and tongue on you. It was so good, it felt so fucking amazing, and you let the knot snap and come undone. You grabbed hard at Joe's hair and almost cried as you came on his fingers; it just felt so fucking good.
"Jesus!" Joe laughed, and you panted as you looked down at him. Something wet was in his beard, and you laughed when you realized that it wasn't just your regular juices. "Good fucking girl, do that again, baby."
"I-I didn't even know I could do that," you laughed breathlessly, letting your head fall back. Joe wasted no time in pushing his fingers back into you, thrusting hard into you and making your toes curl with the sensitivity, and you yelped when the sudden knot burst again, and you were able to watch this time as you squirted quickly on Joe's face. He seemed to love it, smiling up at you and panting, and he pulled out his soaked fingers. He looked at them in awe, wet and glistening, before he touched them to his lips, licking them clean.
You leaned up and stripped off your shirt, and you reached out for him, pulling his hips between your legs again as you shoved his singlet over his head. You discarded it across the room before you kissed him again, tasting yourself on his tongue, and he didn't wait a single second before he grasped his cock and pushed inside you. You were so fucking sensitive from cumming so hard, and you grabbed hard at his shoulders as he instantly started up a pace. He was quick, thrusting messily into you and holding down your hips to keep you where he wanted you, and you hid yourself in his neck. Jesus, he was insatiable tonight; he had made you fucking squirt, and now he was fucking you so hard that you were worried you two might break the bed.
"Baby," you whispered in his ear. "Easy, honey, we have all night."
"I almost came when you squirted," Joe told you. "Fuck me, I'm so close already. Let me cum, and then we can go slower and nicer, but, right now, I need to— Fuck!"
His cock throbbed inside you as he fucked you, and you knew that he was right. He was dangerously close to his release, and you to yours, and you could have sworn that you heard him whimper when you clenched down on him, tightening around his cock.
"Please, baby," Joe whispered. "Let me cum inside you, please, fuck, I need it."
"Fuck, yeah," you breathed. "Cum inside me, please."
Joe's nails dug into the flesh of your hip, and you gasped as Joe moaned deeply, and he filled you. You could feel it inside you, so much thick cum— your poor boy really needed to cum. He moaned in your ear and panted heavily as he tried to catch his breath, and you pulled yourself from his neck to smile hazily up at him. "Was it good?" Joe asked, and you chuckled, brushing back his curls.
"Yes, my love," you told him. "So good. I didn't know I could squirt, that was interesting."
"A surprise, for sure," Joe laughed. "But it was hot. Can you do it again?"
"I don't know how I did it the first time," you chuckled. "I don't know if I can do it again."
Joe huffed out a laugh, and he leaned up on his elbows, rocking his hips into you again. Your nerves were so scorched and sensitive that you instantly let out a yelp, and Joe said, "Well, let's see."

the corner of Heartache & Jameson
18+only, cemetery meet cute, talk of grief and death, allusions to depression and alcohol consumption. Eddie is grieving and so is reader.
wc: 706
You hug yourself against the brisk, icy wind, flexing the collar of your coat up to cover your ears as you stand in the cemetery staring with wet eyes at the headstone in front of you.
“Sometimes I hate you for this, you know?” You scowl and shuffle your feet.  “For dying on me like you did, for leaving me alone here in this shitty world.  It’s not fair.”
Your grandmother’s name is spelled out on the cement slab, and there are fresh poinsettias just below it that will soon suffocate under the freshly fallen snow.  The sun is down and darkness crowds in around you, as if stumbling over shafts of light in its eagerness to be by your side.  You don’t avoid them like others might; you let them curl into you like stray cats and make a home.
You silently dare the gathering shadows to do with you what they will.
You sniff back a sob and wipe tears from your eyes with angry yanks across your cheeks.  “I came to say I love you and I miss you and I wish you were here.  I don’t have anyone to spend the holidays with so—-”
Footsteps crunch in the snow and you hear a lighter flick.
You look up to see the small flame from a few yards away, and then, a face.
“Did I scare you?” A man's voice asks, lit cigarette bobbing between his lips.
He sucks in a drag, and you scoff at whoever it is, irritated that he would dare to interrupt your therapeutic, sulking rant to your dead grandmother at her grave.
“Quite presumptuous of you to think you’d have any effect on me,” you bite, wrapping your arms around your ribcage tighter, feeling for the pepper spray in your coat pocket, just in case.
“I’m sorry,” he says softly.  He lowers the cigarette, and you can only see his silhouette against the falling snow.  “I’m just not used to bumping into people out here this time of night.”
“You hang out in the cemetery a lot? How hardcore of you.” Your tone is mocking, you want him to leave.  You wish to be alone with your misery and the several travel-size bottles of Jameson.
“These past few months, yeah,” he admits with a shrug.  You can see the outline of his hand and the bright cherry glow on his smoke.  “Since my uncle passed.  He’s right over there.”
He sticks his elbow out to the right, in a general direction.  As if he can’t look, as if it’s still too hard.
“He raised me,” he offers, as if to accentuate the point that the man had not been just any uncle.  “So, I like to come here and get sad, too, you know?”
You relax your hand on the pepper spray.  You relax your jaw too, and for a brief second, you hope that he is the grim reaper coming to take you away from this earthly hell.
He takes a tentative step closer, and in the dim glow of the moonlight, you can finally see the gentle curves of his face.  “Names Eddie,” he shoves one hand into the front pocket of his jeans and flicks ash from his smoke with the other.  Other than ripped jeans and sneakers, he only has on a threadbare concert tee and a thin leather jacket.
You don’t tell him your name because you’re not sure if you want to know anyone anymore.  Being alone is better, being alone is safe.
But you can’t help but notice: “Are you cold?”
He snorts a laugh. “I kinda am, yeah. I didn’t really expect to come out here.  It just…happened.”
You understood the compulsion.  You’d driven to the cemetery in your pajamas once in a fit of grief.
You felt in your other pocket for the tiny bottles of alcohol and rolled them around in your fingers so that they sounded like crashing marbles.  You held one up to him by the glass neck.  “You want to come back to my car and get warm? Be sad together?”
“Well, it is the holidays,” he tried not to smile but couldn’t help the grin that crept up one side of his face like the Grinch with an idea.  “Sucks to be alone this time of year.”

Hi! I saw this in a prompt list and thought it might be cute, immediately thought of Eddie munson.
“You broke into my apartment drunk thinking it was your friend’s house and I should call the cops but my cat kinda likes you so we’re good”
author’s note: i love giving my brain a break from smut for adorable prompts like these, so thank you!! i saw this and had to write it haha, it’s so perfect.
cw: sfw, meet-cutes, slightly mean!reader, cats loving eddie for no reason, steve being an annoying neighbor, mentions of drinking, if i missed anything lmk!

You could’ve sworn you locked your door—every night, on the way to your room, just a simple turn of the lock and you were secure—not tonight, apparently. The day was long and exhausting and you ended up falling asleep on the couch half-dressed in your pajamas after a shower, an over-sized shirt covering your thighs to leave you some decency to the underwear hidden beneath.
It’s a small jingle to the doorknob that startles you, swearing that it’s all in your head—or that Steve was having another one of his wild nights and lost his keys, it’s why he left an extra in your apartment.
You didn’t know him incredibly well, but after being his neighbor for two years there was a weird bond of trust, that and he gave you free rentals every week when you came into the store, he was actually a pretty sweet guy despite his disregard for noise when it came to neighbors.
You heave a heavy sigh, peeking your eyes open to watch the shadow under the door as it stumbles clumsily, their weight shifting against it as if they slipped—it startled your cat, a scraggly black and grey feline that was always either sleeping or ripping up your furniture. It was a rocky love and hate relationship, most of the love attempting to be forced on your end while there was mostly hate being received in response. He climbs over your head and plops onto the floor, shoving himself under the couch and away from whatever predator lurked beyond.
“I feed you, take care of you—you’re such an asshole.” You call after him, leaning up from the couch to stomp toward the door and yell at whoever was waiting on the other side—but that never happens.
The door opens before you get a chance to move, the dimness of the room making it impossible to clock who it is at first glance, your eyes squinting to make out the shape of them.
It dawns on you quickly—that definitely wasn’t Steve.
There’s a low curse as they step on one of your cats scattered toys, nearly slipping as they slapped their hand against the wall to catch themselves. Normally, your first instinct would be to scream, run, either of the two would work—but all signs were pointing elsewhere and you couldn’t help but watch on in amusement, waiting for the person to realize they might’ve stepped into the wrong apartment. It wasn’t like you were hooking up with anyone lately, let alone bring them home.
“Why the fuck—“ The voice huffs, kicking the toy to the side as they regained their balance, “Steve, did you get a fucking cat?”
And that explains it.
“No, he didn’t.” You reply with amusement, pushing up on your hands until the blanket falls to your waist, hair bemused from sleep—there was no telling how ridiculous you looked right now.
Eddie shouts, “Jesus, dude—who the hell are you?”
The door falls shut without Eddie’s doing and the silence is deafening.
“The owner of this apartment.” You point out, doing an obvious scan of the apartment until it clicks in his brain, his eyes widening in both shock and embarrassment.
“Holy shit—I am so—“
Your cat jumps out then, circling the stranger’s feet curiously. Your face scrunched up in annoyance as he betrayed you once again, finding safety in a stranger rather than you.
Eddie forgets what he’s saying, leaning down to pet at the cat’s soft fur, “Oh hey, little guy,” The cat purrs softly, nudging his head into his palm, “did I scare you?”
“Not to interrupt, but I still have every reason to call the cops on your right now,” You remind him, shoving the blanket away to scamper toward him, forgetting your severe lack of clothing to grab at your car, hurling him up into your arms, “the least you could do is introduce yourself.”
Eddie’s eyes widen, shifting to your face immediately.
“Uh—Eddie. Munson. Steve’s friend.” He explains quickly, “The light’s out in the hall—and I’m a little drunk if I’m being honest, I guess I got the numbers mixed up.”
You huff a laugh at that, feeling your cat wiggle from your grasp until he could paw at Eddie, jumping the distance to snuggle into Eddie’s waiting arms, sensing the need before it even happened.
“Well, Steve’s friend Eddie Munson,” You say dramatically, “you seem to be the only person my cat doesn’t despise—so I won’t call the cops, not yet.”
On cue, the tiny fury betrayer rubs against Eddie’s jacket, closing his eyes as he relaxes.
“You little shit.” You say snidely causing Eddie to chuckle—his eyes linger on your face briefly until he can’t stand it, drifting further down the expanse of your legs.
You notice it, answering with a dismissive, “I was sleeping.”
“On your couch?” He asks quizzically, noting the size of your apartment. He knew there had to be a bedroom somewhere—though, who was he to judge?
“I was tired.” You shrug, “—Why are you still here?”
“Yeah, shit,” Eddie curses again, something that seemed to be a habit of his, “I didn’t expect to make a friend.”
He scratches the cat’s head gently, another soft purr rumbling in the quiet and another annoyed eye roll coming from you.
There’s a rough knock at the door that startles both of you, a soft yelp escaping your throat. It sends your cat fleeing in a hurry to your bedroom, body slinking through the cracked door and away from danger once again.
You shove Eddie away from the door gently, twisting the doorknob until the door creaked open, brimming with frustration at the sudden flurry of events—all you wanted was a decent night of sleep.
“Hey—oh,” Steve’s eyes go wide, his figure becoming clearer as the door opens wide, “—Eddie?”
“It’s a long story.” You tell him before Eddie has the chance to answer.
“You’re—“ He points at you and your state of undress, eyebrows pulling together in confusion, “do you two—wait, are you two screwing each other?”
Eddie stutters out a quick, “No.”
Followed by your pointed look of disgust, “God—absolutely not.”
Eddie looks slightly offended but forces it away, Steve’s mouth pulling up into a smirk, “I probably should’ve introduced you two sooner—Eddie’s moving in with me next week.”
“Yeah, well it looks like your new roomie partied too hard,” You tell Steve, plucking at the sleeve of Eddie’s slack arm, the metal of his bracelet jingling against his wrist, “I already took in one stray—two, counting you,” Your eyes narrow on Steve, “I don’t need a third.”
“I’m right here,” Eddie says, feeling dejectedly despite his lack of knowing you, “I have feelings.”
“You’ll learn, buddy,” Steve offers comfortingly, grasping at his friend’s wrist to pull him along, “let’s go.”
“My cat didn’t try to maul him—so I guess that’s something,” You offer, Steve’s face contorting in shock, “—yeah, literally ran toward him like a fuckin’ traitor.”
“Huh,” Steve laughs, glancing over at his friend who still had an apparent frown on his face—you feel like you apologizing is a good idea, but Steve quickly rectifies that, “he’s fine—just an emotional drunk.”
“Well, I guess that makes two of you.”
“Hey,” Steve says, coming to his own defense, “not true.”
“Yeah—he likes to strip naked too.” Eddie interjects and Steve has the audacity to look mortified despite how many times you’ve witnessed just that.
Steve is on the precipice of a retort, mouth open in defense, but you quickly close the door in his face and catch the muffled beginnings of what you were sure was going to turn into an hour long rant—luckily, that wasn’t your problem.
Eddie Munson, though—that was soon to prove in being the biggest problem of your life.

The incessant beeping of the bedside alarm clock was annoying, slowly pulling Eddie away from dreamland right as the fake scenario his mind conjured up was about to get to its best part.
He groaned, reaching a lazy hand out to turn off the alarm, accidentally knocking the device to the ground, but it did the job anyway. Soft stripes of morning light were seeping through his bedroom window, lighting up the messy room.
Eddie rubbed the sleep from his eyes and stretched his arms to the side, the motion causing his elbow to hit a ball of fur that lay just beside him. He heard a startled and loud meow right after, making him jump and almost fall off his own bed.
Propping himself up on his elbows and with his drowsy eyes now open, Eddie glared at the black cat as if he had personally offended him. "Jesus dude, how'd you even get in here?"
The green-eyed feline didn't move, his paws tucked under his body as he started purring softly.
Eddie ran a hand through his hair, fingers getting stuck on a few loose knots. He blinked the last remains of sleep from his eyes, the curtains on his open window flew with the wind. "Touché," he mumbled, figuring the black cat sneaked in during the night. He was one of the stray cats from the trailer park, or, not much of a stray anymore considering Eddie has been feeding him on the regular, and apparently, he was sleeping inside now too.
With lazy steps, Eddie made his way to the bathroom, casting a last glance at the clock on the floor to make sure he was on time. The trailer was empty, as it was most mornings before Eddie left for school.
After freshening up, he was rummaging through his wardrobe for clothes; throwing his pajama pants on the bed, and mumbling an apology when they landed right on top of his fluffy visitor. He settled for a dark red hoodie and his jeans, prioritizing comfort.
Once ready, he turned around and cradled the cat in his arms. The animal clung to the bed with his claws, letting out an overdramatic meow as Eddie tucked him under his arm.
"Stop complaining, today's the big day, if anything I should be the nervous one," Eddie told the cat, walking to the kitchen and opening the fridge. Both he and the black ball of fur - held up by Eddie's left forearm, paws dangling - analyzed the contents of the fridge.
Eddie was nervous, very. Today was the day he would know if he would finally graduate this year or not, and he hoped, prayed to a god he didn't believe in, that he would. Because his last four months with you have been the best of his life, he smiled more than he ever has before and was already addicted to the warmth that you never failed to bring to his chest.
The constant rapid thudding of his heart was a telling, as was the way his fingers tapped the fridge's door and how he nibbled at the inside of his cheek. He was afraid that fate wouldn't favor him once again, afraid that you'd move on, leave town and he would be stuck behind, again. In the back of his mind, Eddie knew that he'd never recover if that happened.
Milk and cereal would have to do, he laid everything on top of the kitchen's counter, along with the cat. Turning around, Eddie grabbed two bowls, one bigger and the other smaller, and a spoon.
"I am hoping for the best, didn't do all that studying for nothing," Eddie mumbled, brows furrowed as he filled one of the bowls with milk, watching the cat's little nose smell his hand. "And I don't wanna leave her either, that is if she'll have me." He pushed the bowl towards the black creature, who started eagerly drinking the fresh milk.
"So, what do you think?" Eddie leaned his elbows on the counter, raising his eyebrows as if the cat understood every word; who knows, maybe he did. "About the… school, not her, she's-" He cleared his throat, feeling heat come to his cheeks for no apparent reason.
The cat kept drinking, his tail lazily moving from side to side on top of the beige counter. He licked his lips once he was finished, sitting down with his green eyes looking at Eddie before he started licking one of his paws.
"Yeah, you're right," Eddie said to himself, knuckles hitting the countertop. He ate his breakfast in silence, ringed fingers gently scratching the black fur behind the cat's ears. He wondered if you liked cats, if you'd like to have one in the future.
____
Eddie turned the steering wheel, parking his van near the trees in the school's parking lot. He plucked out the keys from the ignition, stuffing them in his jeans pockets and turning around to grab his backpack.
The driver's door swung open abruptly, making Eddie almost tear his backpack in half with the way he involuntarily snatched it. He turned around quickly, strands of hair flying in his eyes with the motion.
"Hah yes, finally!" You exclaimed, a huge smile on your face and your chest rising and falling a bit too fast. As soon you caught sight of Eddie's van you'd made a run for it. "I arrived first." You told him with a smug tilt to your chin.
Eddie huffed out a breathy laugh, heart fluttering for you. "I swear you're both out to get me today."
You frowned, and Eddie waved a dismissive hand. "Morning sweetheart, you ready for today?"
Breathing in deeply, you raised a hand and pushed away the stray hairs that stuck to Eddie's eyelashes. You adored the way he always leaned into your touch, no matter how small. "I think so. Are you?"
"Nope, I am not," he mumbled, climbing out of his van and closing the door. He instinctively put an arm around your shoulders, his lips grazing your hairline in a faint kiss as he held the strap of his backpack over one shoulder. To the naked eye, you both could easily pass as a couple, everytime Eddie thought about it his skin filled with goosebumps. But even after these few months of being pretty much attached to each other, it wasn't true.
Eddie still couldn't put a name to what you two were, and it's not like he wasn't aching to make a bolder move, but every time he thought about it, a not-so-small voice at the back of his head would ask him; what if you're overstepping? What if you're reading it all wrong, and this one mistake takes everything away from you?
The fear of losing you was still winning. Yet it's not like you had made any moves either.
Despite Eddie wanting nothing more than to actually be able to call you his, he counted his lucky stars every night for the privilege of having you. No matter what road you chose with him, that was already more than enough.
You looked up at Eddie, squeezing your arm around his waist. "You're gonna pass Eds, I know you will."
"I hope so," Eddie said quietly, his fingers playing with the ends of your hair. You walked together towards the school doors, the first rays of sun were starting to peek through the clouds.
A group of boys was standing beside a parked BMW when you walked by, Eddie instantly felt their eyes on both of you. One of the boys sported a basketball team jacket, the others had sunglasses on top of their heads, button-up shirts opened halfway and cigarettes hanging from their fingertips. Not long ago, Eddie would've felt uncomfortable under their eyes; not so much for himself but more for you. Not today though, today he pulled you closer and straightened his posture, risking a glance at the group of boys with a fire in his eyes that was new even for him.
You didn't notice, not always anyway; how the other boys at school would look at you with hungry eyes after you passed them by, whispering nasty comments to themselves with wicked smiles. Eddie always noticed, it made him clench his fists so hard his knuckles turned white and his nails almost pierced his skin. In one way or another, he made it his life's mission to scare off every single one of the scumbags. You brought a protective side to Eddie, one he didn't even know he could have.
He opened the school's glass doors for you, extending his arm for you to enter, with the sole purpose of seeing you smile. It always worked.
"I'm headed to art class." You turned to him, hands holding onto the black straps of your backpack.
Eddie groaned, "lucky you, I have fucking algebra."
You giggled and pointed a finger at him, "as soon as you know the results,"
"I'll come running to you no matter what." Eddie finished the sentence for you with a sweet grin.
____
"So who are you going with?" Chrissy asked you, walking out of literature class side by side with you.
"Uh- I'm not sure yet, I think I have someone but, we haven't talked about it yet." You gave her a tight-lipped smile, both of you had just gotten the results that you were graduating; and you were over the moon about it, however now, the whole prom night thing became a real issue.
You were expecting, wanting to, go with Eddie. But he wasn't the biggest fan of formals and you'd never force him to.
"You two are adorable, you know," Chrissy told you as she stopped by her locker, opened it, and grabbed a pastel pink textbook. "An unusual pair but, adorable."
Leaning against the metal door beside hers, you faked cluelessness, heat already crawling up behind your neck and to your cheeks. "'you two' who?"
Your blonde friend raised an eyebrow, closed her locker with a click, and pointed a gentle finger over your shoulder; "you and Mr unhinged over there."
"It's painfully obvious," Chrissy whispered closer to your ear and then walked away with a teasing wink, leaving you to turn around and see what she was talking about.
Eddie was racing from the end of the hallway and towards you, running as fast as his legs would carry him; his hair flowing wildly and his backpack bouncing on his back. He clutched a white paper in his hands, and as he got closer you saw his huge smile.
"I passed! I passed!" He came to an abrupt stop in front of you, voice breathless and some octaves higher from excitement.
Your mouth hung open in awe and happiness, you started jumping on the pads of your feet. "You passed, oh my god." You reached out to him, already sharing his excitement. "Eddie you're graduating."
"I'm graduating!" He took your hands in his and jumped with you. Both of you bounced on your feet, laughing and smiling and creating what was probably a comical scene for the passing students, but you couldn't care less. Eddie then pulled you forward and encircled his arms around your waist, lifting you up and off the ground. He hugged you close and twirled you around, his eyes closed with a distant sting of happy tears.
"I can't believe man, finally."
"I'm so happy for you Eds," you mumbled against his hair, clutching his shoulders.
He lowered you to the ground slowly, pulling away only to be able to look at you. "I owe most of it to you. Did you pass?"
You smiled so brightly it hurt. "Yeah, yeah I did."
Eddie's cheeks were flushed pink, from running and from the wave of feelings twirling in his stomach; his eyes glistened under the school's cheap lighting, half closed because of his smile. "We're graduating, princess," he whispered as if still trying to convince his mind about it.
With a soft nod, you held onto one of his hands. "We are."
Eddie ran his free hand through his messy curls. "I can't wait to tell Wayne about it, he's gonna be pumped."
"He'll be proud of you, Eddie. I am too," you told him, your thumb drawing loose patterns on his hand.
Eddie averted his gaze from yours, his smile fading ever so slightly with furrowed brows. He had been stressing about asking you to prom for more than a week now, but this was a chance he wouldn't get back if he let slide. So Eddie opened his mouth with all the courage he had left, but someone beat him to it;
"Y/N, hey!"
Both of you turned your heads towards the new voice.
Bryan waved at you, team jacket in his hand as he walked closer.
The boy gave Eddie a quick look before settling his eyes on you. "Can I steal you for a bit?"
"I uh-" you shifted your gaze between Eddie and Bryan. "Yeah, sure. Just a second." Directing the last bit of your sentence to Eddie, you allowed Bryan to pull you a few meters away from him.
Eddie leaned against the orange and green stripes on the wall, not able to tear his eyes away from you. The frown he initially had as soon as the basketball player snatched you from him was slowly dissipating. He watched as you spoke, a small smile on your face as you nodded to whatever the boy was saying. Eddie fidgeted with his own hands, in moments like these, he was reminded of the massive gap that still separated your world from his.
Five minutes passed and you were finally walking back to Eddie.
You stopped in front of him and he reached out to tug at the ends of your backpack strap, a shy attempt at not letting you leave again.
"Do I need to scare him off?"
You playfully glared at Eddie, raising your hand and resting it on his forearm. "Stop it, Eddie, he's actually a good guy."
Eddie hummed. "You don't see what I see, sweetheart."
"Oh Mr. Know it all," you chuckled, "maybe I do."
Eddie raised an eyebrow for you to continue.
"He asked if I wanted to go to prom with him."
The words made Eddie's mouth go dry, his gaze shifted away from yours. "And um-what did you say?" He tried to sound nonchalant; wasn't very successful.
"No."
His head snapped up at your words, face scrunched with a frown. "No?" That Bryan guy wasn't bad looking, he was popular and was on the basketball team. Honestly, it would make perfect sense for you to go with him. Eddie had pretty much tossed any hope he had out the window, but now, you said no?
You shook your head softly, a timid smile playing on your lips. "No. He's not the person I wanna go with."
As you looked up at Eddie, slowly, pupils blown wide and lips partially open in a silent question; Eddie felt it, he felt the shift in the air. A small step towards the direction that, until now, you were both too scared to openly dive into.
He took the leap with you, heart raging against his ribcage. Eddie took your hand in the familiar gesture that belonged to both of you, fingers lazily hooked around yours. "Would you- would you give me the honor of going to prom with me then?"
His voice was adorably shy, so quiet that you wouldn't have heard had you not been standing so close. You squeezed his hand, chest growing impossibly warmer. "There's no one else I'd rather go with."
A beat passed as your words caught up with him. With a boyish grin, Eddie raised your joined hands to his lips, kissing your knuckles softly.
Eddie is the best part of your day too.
____
"Stop looking at me like that," Eddie grumbled, he stood in front of his mirror, hands fidgeting with the tie around his neck. He glared at the black cat who sat comfortably on his bed, sure that the little animal was judging his poor attempt at straightening his tie.
Eddie wore a full black suit, he borrowed it from his uncle and it was slightly too big on his lanky frame, but it worked. The shirt underneath had the top button open, otherwise, he felt as if it was strangling him. His hair was still damp and the only thing left was to properly adjust his tie.
The low sound of a random Metallica album played in the background, Eddie stood out like a sore thumb inside his own room. He wasn't completely opposed to it though. It felt weird when he first saw himself in the mirror, but the fancy look was slowly growing on him.
Nerves and anticipation crawled under his skin, Eddie was finally going to his prom night, and with you as his plus one. Something only a few months ago he wouldn't even dare to dream about.
Eddie grinned once he managed to adjust his tie. He turned to the black cat on his bed, opening his arms. "How do I look?" He pursed his lips, tugging at the ends of his blazer. The cat purred softly, his green eyes lazily watching Eddie.
"Yeah I look weird, they're gonna fucking laugh at me." Eddie bit the inside of his cheek. He reached out for his guitar to take it away from the mirror, letting it rest on his bed so he could have a better view of himself.
In a few minutes, he would be arriving at your doorstep to pick you up, and in a few more minutes you would both be walking through the gymnasium doors.
"No, it's fine, she deserves it," he decided.
Eddie dried his palms on his pants, reaching over to run his fingers through the cat's fur. "You don't mess up my room while I'm gone."
In his kitchen, Eddie grabbed the flowers that rested in a cup of water, giving them some gentle shakes for the droplets to fall.
The drive to your house took about fifteen minutes. As Eddie parked his van in front of your house, it felt like it took both five minutes and one hour to get here.
Crickets were singing in the early night, and the sky was clear of clouds, making room for thousands of stars. Eddie walked up to your front door, his hands tightly clutching the makeshift bouquet. He had handpicked the wildflowers, choosing different colors he hoped you'd like. He took a deep breath to ease his nerves before knocking.
Hopper opened the door for him, he wasn't surprised to see Eddie on the other side. He'd lost count of how many times they had been in this exact position before.
The door opened widely with Hopper motioning for him to walk inside. As always, Eddie stepped into your cozy home with his head hung low, mumbling an "excuse me" as he walked past the chief of police. He knew he wasn't the chief's favorite person, he'd never push his luck.
"She's upstairs," Hopper informed him, he had a frown on his lips. Watching the boy clutching the small flowers with both his hands, his grip wavering, and eyes fixed to the ground.
The older man sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. For weeks now, he'd figured his assumptions were very much wrong. He put a hand on Eddie's shoulder before he could walk up the stairs.
Eddie stopped abruptly, although Hopper's hold wasn't harsh.
"For the record, I think you're a good kid, alright?" His eyes diverted to the random commercial playing on the TV before settling back on Eddie, he squeezed his shoulder. "But I will hunt you down if you don't treat her right."
Eddie smiled softly, giddy for having your father's approval. "I wouldn't dream of it." His words were laced with sincere confidence.
Eddie skipped up the stairs, brown curls framing his smile. He closed his eyes for a brief moment before gently pushing open your bedroom door. You stood in front of your dressing table, with your back to him, but the mere sight of you already took his breath away. Your dress was dark colored, matching his suit perfectly, it hugged your body just right; your hair was loose, manicured hands putting on an earring and as Eddie caught a glimpse of your smile through the mirror he almost dropped his flowers. He was whipped.
"Look at you," you said lowly, turning towards him with a smirk. "Eddie Munson in a suit, there's a sight I didn't know I needed." You raised a perfectly styled eyebrow, your heart doing somersaults in your chest because Eddie was handsome. The black suit was perfect for him, in a way only he could pull off. Tie slightly loose around his neck and sleeves partly rolled up. It was so Eddie and so charming.
The bold words brought a grin to Eddie's lips, he allowed his gaze to travel up and down your body; engraving the image of you in his mind. "Only what my girl deserves." He dared say, timidly extending the flowers to you.
"I picked them, reminded me of you."
Your fingers grazed his as you reached for the small bouquet, you held it as if it was your most prized possession, heart swelling at the gesture. "Eddie, you didn't have to." Bringing the flowers to your nose to feel the perfume, you added; "but I love them."
Eddie averted his gaze, his thumb fumbling with the ring on his finger. He took a step closer to you and raised a hand to ghost over yours. "You look beautiful."
Eddie had always been a charmer. There was something different about tonight though. After placing the flowers in a cup of water, you bid goodbye to Eleven and your father and walked with Eddie to his van. His hand rested on the small of your back all the way, he opened your door for you to get in.
Driving to school didn't take long, time always seems to fly when you're with someone you love. When you arrived, a few cars were parked in the school's parking lot. The commotion inside the gymnasium could be noted from afar, with colorful lights shining through the big doors and faint music reaching your ears.
You stepped out of his van and into the cold night. Eddie made his way to your side and you reached out a hand to take his, being able to easily feel his nerves on his touch. Turning to him, you gently pushed him back into the now-closed passenger door of his van, his lower back resting against the metal.
He looked down at you with a frown but wasn't opposed to the idea of your actions. You rolled your eyes at his tiny smirk.
Looping your fingers through the belt loops of his pants, you focused your gaze on him. His doe eyes were nothing but black orbs under the dark sky. "Talk to me Eddie, what's on your mind?" You tilted your head to the side, voice gentle.
Eddie breathed out slowly, ducking his head, his forehead almost touching yours. "This still feels unreal, and I feel like I'm gonna be the joke of the night."
"It does feel kind of unreal, doesn't it?" You mimicked the crease of his eyebrows, raising your hands to the side of his head and threading your fingers through his soft hair, whilst he naturally reached for your hips. "How lucky am I to be going to prom with the Eddie Munson? Hellfire's Dungeon Master, best guitar player in all of Hawkins."
Your over-exaggerated tone made Eddie laugh, a deep chuckle that made you shiver under his hold.
"Don't forget The School's Freak." He reminded.
You hummed, squinting your eyes with a smile. "That's still a debatable title."
After a few more shared laughs, both of you leaning against his beat-up van with nothing but the stars as company; your smile faded slightly, lips pursing in a more serious manner. "You don't need to worry about them. We don't need to worry. I mean it when I say that I'm lucky to have met you."
You averted your gaze, smoothing out the ends of the collar on Eddie's shirt. His eyes were heavy on you. "Some of those people, they're just empty shells," you didn't have to specify for Eddie to know who you were talking about, "and you're not, you're… like a breath of fresh air, honestly."
Eddie chuckled under his breath, bashful eyes studying the way you held onto him and feeling his cheeks impossibly warmer. "What did I do to deserve you?"
A timid smile came to you and as you felt Eddie's fingertips gently grazing your cheek, you glanced up. He was close, so close his nose almost touched yours, his hand around your waist pulled you in.
With just a tilt of your head, you could…
Out of nowhere the music coming from the gym got louder, the new song starting with a bang that made you jump, your heart now following the quick beats as you realized just what you were about to do.
You felt Eddie's soft exhale on your lips. Forcing yourself away from him, you grasped onto his hand and pulled him to the party; your face burning hot.
Naturally, a few students shot curious glances in your direction as you walked inside the gym side by side with Eddie. Neither of you cared though, focusing solemnly on each other. The place was beautifully decorated, with colorful and fairy lights hanging from the ceiling, music blasting from the speakers as many students danced around; there were a few tables offering snacks and drinks and a makeshift stage in the middle for the speeches.
You had your arm around Eddie's, his free hand mindlessly playing with your fingers.
Chrissy caught sight of you rather quickly, excitedly waving her hand in the air and calling you over. She stood with Jason by her side, who didn't look too happy to see you. Allison and Bryan were there too, it looked like they came together; you'd never tell her she was sort of his second option. You both stood with them for a while, talking and laughing and sharing a few plans for the future.
Eddie made a point to serve you drinks while whining about the nonalcoholic beverage. He also didn't let go of you the whole night, sometimes his hand laid around your waist, or at the small of your back; sometimes his fingers hooked with yours or he had an arm around your shoulders. It felt right.
Later into the night, you found the other boys from Hellfire Club, their smiles contagious when they saw you. Gareth eagerly complimented your looks, earning him a rather stern glance from Eddie. Dustin gushed excitedly about 'Eddie's new girlfriend' and how happy he was that he found someone, successfully rendering you speechless and Eddie a stuttering mess.
When a slow song finally came in, you dragged Eddie to the dance floor. Your hand loosely attached to his. He halfheartedly complained about it, smiling all the way.
You held onto his shoulders, feeling goosebumps with the way he held onto your waist. You swayed gently with him, not very mindful of following the song's rhythm, focusing more on the soft brown eyes staring down at you.
"What are your plans now that you're free of Hawkins High?" You asked quietly, playing with the ends of his hair.
Eddie hummed, his fingers tapping your spine. "I haven't really thought about it yet."
You chuckled, shifting your gaze up to the fairy lights hanging above you. If you squinted, they reminded you of stars. "Before thinking about college, I wanna go out. Explore, meet new faces, you know. Get away for a while."
Eddie felt his stomach dropping with your words, he involuntarily gripped you tighter to himself. "Leave town?"
"That's the plan, yeah."
He gulped down a sudden lump in his throat. Was it too foolish of him to think you'd stick by him after school was over? Maybe, he had hoped anyway. Eddie could only nod, not thinking much before pulling you to him in somewhat of an embrace. His arm closed further around you, his nose now resting on your shoulder.
What he thought was a potential goodbye, was nothing but a sweet gesture for you. You pulled him in as well, one hand around his shoulders and the other going up to bury itself into his hair.
After a few minutes of you slowly swaying to the song, with nothing but Eddie's shaky breath on your neck, you noticed the change in his mood. The many other students around you seemed to become a faded blur. "Eddie?"
He pressed his cheek onto your head, closing his unfocused eyes at the smell of your shampoo. "Just… Promise you'll be back? That you won't forget me?" His words were nothing but a quiet plea thrown out in the dark.
You pulled away from him, and Eddie's heart almost broke then and there. Your eyes were shining under the colorful lights, feeling the warmth of his body pressed to yours. "Eddie, remember what I told you when you first came to my house? Whenever I think about my future plans or… Anything, you're- you're always there with me. I want you there with me. If that's something you'd want too."
Oh. There you were again, showing him what it felt like to be cared for. To be loved.
His lungs didn't function properly, here, eyes fixated on you, dressed up for prom night, for him, and saying that you wanted him beside you; he forgot how to breathe. Eddie leaned forward, the strings of something that was months in the making finally pulling him in. "What are we?" He whispered the one question he hoped he knew the answer for.
Your eyes drifted down to his plump lips, your thumb tracing the outline of his jaw. "Whatever you'd like us to be."
Eddie couldn't hold himself back even if he tried, he leaned down, his lips finding yours. It had been long overdue, a love hidden beneath touches and stares and promises ever since the day in the library.
He kissed you with purpose, with a tight grip around you telling you everything he could never put into words. You cupped his cheeks, tilting your head to chase a closeness that would never be enough. Eddie's lips were soft; his kiss, even if passionate, had a clear gentleness.
You heard a whimper coming from him when you pulled away, his mouth chasing yours, noses bumping. The smile was instant, your lips brushing his in several more pecks until the air became an annoying necessity.
Opening your eyes halfway, you were greeted with the sight of Eddie with his lips partly opened; redder, a little swollen, courtesy of your touch and more kissable than before. His eyes were still closed, cheeks dusted pink and god- for a moment you thought you made him up, just for how entranced he made you feel now.
Eddie ran his tongue over his bottom lip, he opened his chocolate brown eyes slowly; his pupils were huge, glistening brightly. He leaned over, tender lips pressing against your forehead before he met your eyes again. "You had me hooked around your finger even before we met in the library, you know that, right sweetheart?"
A chuckle bubbled from your throat, you hid your face against his shoulder.
"I just wanna be with you, don't care where." He promised, lips grazing your hairline.
You bit your lip to contain the happiness, before teasing lowly; "took you long enough."
Even if you couldn't see him, you knew Eddie had his mouth hung open in his 'how dare you' way. "Oh come on, you're one to talk."
Both of you laughed, both of you knowing the timing couldn't be more perfect.
The slow song came to an end, giving room for another upbeat you didn't know the name of. Eddie kept his hold on you, and you didn't let go either. You felt his heartbeat against your own, the low thudding fitting perfectly with yours.
Eddie was the best part of your life.

A/N: I did always love to explore the kind of relationship where they're not yet lovers but aren't just friends either, simply adorable.
Anyway, for the main storyline in this miniseries, I'd say this is the final part. However, I plan on writing shorter additional stories for this little universe; for example, exploring some things that happened with them in this three-month time jump, and also now after, maybe a road trip together or something. Just some little additional glimpses into their relationship, let me know if there's something specific that you'd like to see (just please if you'll send an ask, specify that it's for the Moonstruck universe). It can even be something as small as "the first time they went to the movies together", I'd be happy to write it <3.
You can find the extra stories here.
Thank you for reading this story, feedback and reblogs are very much appreciated. <3

You and Eddie had woken up late on a Sunday with absolutely nothing to do. You had already made brunch from whatever was leftover from dinner the night before, and watched 3 movies before Eddie grew bored. He smirked at you as soon as he thought of what you two could do next. He had been dying to have a smoke session with you and you enthusiastically accepted the offer without really thinking about the fact that you had little to no experience with taking substances.
You two moved to the garage on camping chairs with a small stool in between them. Eddie utilized the stool to hold his baggies of weed and rolling paper. You were mesmerized by his bare arms as you watched them move in his sleeveless black shirt.
“See and then you lick the end of the paper sticking out,” Eddie explained. You watched his tongue glide along the end of the paper, feeling goosebumps develop all over your legs in response. Eddie rolled up the rest of the joint and held it out for you. “And there you go, you’re ready for a sesh,”
“Ah, cool,” You nodded awkwardly, your legs shifting in the chair.
“Are you not gonna take my offering? I mean I literally just did the hard part for you,” Eddie teased, bringing the joint close to your lips. You pulled away for a moment.
“No it’s not like that, I’ve just never smoked weed before,” You blushed, moving your eyes away from him in embarrassment. “I guess I’m kinda nervous,”
“Here baby, lemme help you,” Eddie grunted as he shifted your chairs to make them face each other. Your heart pounded as he got closer to your face. He flicked his lighter and quickly lit the end of the joint. His index finger and thumb met his plump lips before he took a hit.
“Come here,” he said without exhaling. He brought your face to his with his other hand, his fingers tangling in your hair. “Open…”
You followed Eddie’s order, slightly parting your lips. You were a bit startled as you felt him start to blow smoke into your mouth. Once you figured out what was going on, you started to inhale with your eyes closed. You turned away to cough due to the sharp pain in your lungs.
“Woah, woah, woaaaah! Good giiiirl,” Eddie chuckled, patting your back, assisting you in clearing out your lungs. “You did a great job taking that, babe,” These words rang in your head, causing your cheeks to flush.
“Thank you,” you stuttered through coughs and giggles.
You two repeated the process until you properly felt the high taking effect. You loved how soft Eddie’s lips were and how gentle he was holding your face, trying to steady you. You then felt as if you were sinking in your chair and your stomach fluttered.
“I told you it’d be fine scaredy-cat,” Eddie smacked the top of your thigh that was exposed due to how short your pajama bottoms were. Your jaw hung open at how much it actually hurt. Your thigh was stinging as he slid a finger down the mark he made. You thumped the back of his head in response. “Ow!” He yelped.
“Oh, I’m sorry Baby,” You said in a mocking tone, pouting your lips. Eddie’s adorable smile morphed into a devilish one. You backed away from his face.
“Oh I’m gonna get you now!” You saw Eddie starting to stand up and ran as fast as you could to the bedroom. You tried to close the door behind you, but the high made you clumsy and Eddie was able to grab you by your hips. “I gotcha!” He growled. You squealed as he picked you up and playfully body slammed you into bed.
He pinned his body against you and you felt his abs tighten as he chuckled. He swiftly pinned your arms above you with one hand and you watched the other reach down under your arms.
“No!” You said, breathlessly. You knew what he was about to do and you braced yourself.
“Oh yeah!” Eddie stuck his tongue out as he began wiggling his fingers on your right armpit. You screamed so loud, you worried for a second that a neighbor could hear you.
“Eddiiieee! Eddie, no I’m-“
He quieted your whining by reaching down for a kiss. You were pleasantly surprised by how good the kiss felt due to the high. It started with small, slow pecks. You loved the way his lips cushioned yours. The kiss got progressively deeper until they were sloppy tongue kisses. You could taste the smoke in his breath but you enjoyed it nonetheless. When he pulled his lips away, you saw that Eddie was now straddling you. His fingers dragged up along your sides and then to the top of your breasts.
“Can I play with you, Baby?” He shot you a sexy smirk and a lip bite. His eyes started to glow as he saw the imprint your nipples were making through your thin tank top.
“Yes,” You nodded, giving a goofy smile.
“God, you’re so cute,” Eddie said before softly massaging your breasts, kneading them in circles. You ached while waiting for his fingers to swipe along your nipples. When they finally did, you let out a soft moan. “It should be illegal for you to wear a bra, your tits are so perfect,” he growled before pushing your tank top above your breasts. You tangled your fingers in Eddie’s hair before he put his mouth on the bottom of your right breasts. He greedily bit it, sucking on you until it left a hickie. You sucked in air as you felt the shock of pain.
“Fuck… Eddie that hurt,”
“Shut up, you love wearing my bites,” Eddie spat before repeating the process on your left side. “I bet you’re already wet for me,” he trailed kisses down your stomach. When he got to your thigh, he placed another deep bite into the thickest part of it. You cried out in response, almost kicking him. “Let me take these off you,” Words were beyond you at this point so you nodded furiously. Eddie bit into the front of your shorts and panties, his rough hands taking a hold of each side before slipping them off your long legs. He watched intently as he saw a trail of your wetness from you to your underwear. “Just as I thought,” he whispered before licking along your slit.
Your moan echoed through the room, bouncing around your head. The drug you took made every part of you twice as sensitive. Every time you closed your eyes, you saw tiny fireworks behind your eyelids. Eddie threw your legs over his shoulders before he sunk his mouth onto you. You loved the way he flattened his tongue wide to not miss a part of your sex as he swiped up. Your thighs were squeezing the hell out of his cheeks as you felt close to your orgasm.
“Eddie… Baby I’m gonna-“ He heard that began driving his tongue inside you. He needed to feel your walls squeeze his tongue as you finished.
“Mmmm. You’re so delicious baby girl,” You grabbed the collar of his shirt, bringing his face in front of yours. You swiped your tongue along his coated lips.
“I agree,” You giggled as he paused, looking down at you with his big brown eyes. Eddie gave a sudden look of distress. “What’s wrong B-“
“Fuck you’re so hot, I need you now,” He whispered desperately, undoing the strings of his gym shorts. In a swift movement, he flipped you over and brought your legs off the side of your bed. Eddie tried to take his time. He massaged your ass and thighs in his hands for a minute before his impatience took over. He then spit into his hand and spread it over his achingly hard cock. “Are you ready?”
“Yes, please Daddy,” you whimpered with your cheek against the bed. You took your hands behind you, spreading yourself open for Eddie.
“God you’re so fucking hot,” Eddie said as he admired the sight of your already messy hole. He took his cock into his hand, lining himself up with you. You let out a loud gasp as he slowly pushed into you. “Tell me if you’re ready,”
“I’m ready… Please fuck me,” you breathed. Eddie didn’t take another second. He locked his hands on your hips and began pounding into you. You let out a scream every time you felt the tip of his cock ram into your g-spot. Even with being balls deep inside you, he needed to feel more. He laid on top of your back, pounding you harder into the side of the bed. You could feel his heaving chest on your back and sweat accumulating between your bodies.
“I’m going to cum, Princess. Take it,” He growled before releasing his load into you. His cock slipped out, causing you to leak out onto the bedroom floor. He kissed you all over your back, thanking you for letting him use you.
“God, now I’m fucking hungry,” you giggled with Eddie exhausted, laying on top of you.

The pain courses through you as you lay on the couch smiling when you look to see Dom hugging Eddie before he hops down running to you. You are secretly surprised when he hugs you so gently before taking his shoes off and falling asleep wrapped in your arms after waving bye to his parents, despite the pain you take and hold a deep breath before picking the four year old up and putting him in your and eddie's bed heading back downstairs before groaning loudly from pain "Is it your fibro mi corazon?" you nod as tears flow down your face as he holds you carrying you upstairs and putting you at the end of the bed quietly starting the tub that wakes dom up who sees you in a ball quietly sobbing while eddie checks the water quickly turning to add more heat to it while still being mindful of how hot the water is. You set a camera up as what you did when you were in pain to show to your friends who questioned your condition mostly to educate them, looking when you feel your hair being moved away turning to see dom who gently wrapped around you gently rubbing his hand on your shoulder "I'm gonna yell at the meanie to stop the pain" your heart melts at the cute little boy who was trying to comfort you even though it didn't get rid of the pain but you gladly hold him against you before eddie comes back out smiling at the scene before helping you up watching dom as he mindlessly sits on the bed petting and gently holding your cat Pesto in his arms as you lay in the water feeling your body turn to jello almost falling asleep until you feel a tap on your hand looking to see dom sitting on the floor holding your hand as eddie walks back in with one of his shirts and pajama pants "You looking after your aunt?" smiling as he grabs and tickles him before dom runs off playing with your and eddie's shared golden retriever Bay relaxing even more after dressing yourself and laying down as eddie massages all the aching parts of your body opening one of your eyes when your hear pesto meow next to you turning to see eddie leaning next to dom "Is aunt y/n sick?". "Not exactly pequeño, she's in a lot of pain and sometimes there are people who deal with the pain more than others because it is a part of something that affects you for the rest of your life and sometimes that pain can be too much today is one of those days for her so I try to help her in every way I can" he slowly begins to massage your leg going up your body feeling the same rubbing on your hand smiling sweetly at dom as he rubs his fingers in circles on your hand as eddie lifts the shirt you're wearing up just a little to put patches on you before the two went downstairs lightly giggling at dom waddling back in the room with a cup of grape juice for himself and placing a cup of tea on the nightstand beside you climbing on the bed next to you as eddie walks in a few minutes later with dinner eating together before falling asleep waking up to see dom wrapped in eddie's arms, you smile heading to the locker room backstage fast forwarding and showing the footage of dom to Rey and with dom and eddie making him smile at how perceptive his young son was, dom walks in with eddie smiling when he sees you stopping in front of you "Is the meanie hurting you again?" you laugh sweetly before grabbing and hugging the little boy before tickling him melting when he kisses your cheek before eddie tickles him as well knowing as you watch the two that not only would you marry eddie but you definitely be having a family of your own together in the future.

Eddie surprising you with a baby kitten that you’ve been begging to get since you moved in with each other❤️
It had been a month of pure bliss living with Eddie all alone in your own little trailer. Things were rough at first. Neither of you had any experience living outside of your parents or guardians home but you had the idea that, as soon as you both graduated, it was time to be adults.
The first trailer that came available, the two of you snagged it. It was a dump but it was a roof over your head and it was moderately cheap. What more could two broke kids fresh out of high school ask for?
“We need a pet,” you said one day day as you strolled past the animal shelter hand-in-hand with Eddie.
“Babe, we can barely afford to feed ourselves.” Eddie snorted, “Maybe when we both have jobs. Pets cost like a fuckton of money.”
“I know,” you said as you rested your head against his shoulder, “But I think when we’re finally able to make the next step, we should get a kitten.”
“A kitten?” Eddie bit back a frown, “What about a dog?”
“They’re too loud and you work nights so any time the dog would bark during the day, it’d disturb your sleep.” You said, “A kitten would be quiet.”
He had kissed you on the top of your head and that was the end of the conversation. What you didn’t know was that it had ate Eddie up inside to turn the idea down. He wanted a pet, too. The last pet he had was his uncles dog, Jessup, who he had when he first adopted Eddie. The dog lived until Eddie was thirteen years old and when he found him passed away in the front yard, Eddie was inconsolable for a month afterwards. Jessup had been his best, and only friend, for so many years.
The next time you brought up the idea of a pet was at a flea market one early Saturday morning. Eddie had walked off to look at the vinyls and you were immediately drawn to a pin in the middle of the open isle marked “Kittens”
When Eddie found you again, you were sitting in the middle as the tiny furballs walked all over you. He felt his heart clench at the smile on your face as one of the cats crawled up your arm and brushed its face against your cheek.
“Hey man,” Eddie nodded towards the attendant, “How much for the kittens?”
“Asking $150. They’ve been fixed, vetted, and are up to date on shots.” The guy said.
Eddie pulled out his wallet and counted the bit of money he had, sighing to himself when only realized he about $80 on him. Business had been slow since he graduated.
“Would you take any less?” Eddie glanced over at you and then back to the guy.
“Sorry, man.” The attendant frowned, “Price is firm.”
Eddie sighed and slid his wallet back into his back pocket. “You got a number or something I can call once I get the money together? I’ll pay you extra. Just hold that white one back for me, yeah?”
On the way back home, you couldn’t stop gushing about the tiny white kitten. You sat in the passenger seat of the van, your feet hanging out the window as the warm summer breeze filtered through.
“It was so soft, Eds.” You said with a soft smile, “And it’s tiny little kitten nose was so pink.”
“Yeah, it was cute.” Eddie nodded, “Hey...I’m going to drop you off at home, yeah?”
“Okay…” you frowned at the sudden change of tone, “Everything okay?”
“Yeah. Everything’s fine.” He nodded, “I’ve got some buyers lined up. Gonna go make some quick cash.”
Your brow furrowed but you didn’t say anything. Usually he took you with him and you just sat in the van but for some reason, he wanted to do this run alone. You trusted him – Eddie was never one to run around on you, but it did raise some flags why he was being so secretive. Once you arrived home, he went into the bedroom closet, grabbed his bag, kissed your lips, and was gone within five minutes.
Eddie was gone for the rest of the day. For nearly five hours. You had showered, changed into your pajamas, and was curled up on the couch with a blanket when he walked in at nearly 10 PM. He had his bag thrown over his shoulder and something else in his hand that you couldn’t quite make out through the darkness of the living room.
“Where have you been, Eds?” You asked, concern evident in your voice as you looked over at him.
“Sorry it took me so long,” Eddie sighed softly, reaching for the light switch before he walked over to you, “Close your eyes….I’ve got you something.”
“Eddie-”
“Please.” he nearly whined.
You sighed and done as he said, closing your eyes. You could tell he flicked the light on and you heard his footsteps getting closer and then you felt something warm and fluffy placed on your chest. Your eyes snapped open and you looked down to see a tiny white kitten – the white kitten you were playing with earlier, staring back up at you.
“Surprise,” Eddie snorted.
“Eddie!” You gasped, “Oh my god, you got me the kitten?”
“I did,” he smirked, sitting a plastic bag down in your lap, “And kitten necessities.”
Tears filled your eyes as you you hugged the tiny kitten to you. You hopped off the couch and wrapped your arms around Eddie’s neck, having to stand on your tiptoes.
“Thank you, Eddie. Oh my god,” you said, peppering kisses all over his face as he laughed.
He kissed your lips softly and smiled, “Anything for you, baby...man said it was a boy.”
He watched as you cradled the tiny kitten in the nook of your arm, smoothing its puffy fur backwards as it played with the pendant hanging from your necklace.
“What’s its name?” Eddie asked as he unpacked all the items. He had bought kitten food, a litter pan, toys, and a black spiked collar.
You tilted your head as you looked down at him, trying to come up with the perfect name. He was soft and casper white. But it came to you when Eddie snapped the tiny spiked collar around his neck.
“We’ll call him Gene,” you said with a soft smile.
“Gene?” He laughed, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind,“That’s a odd name for a cat.”
“The spiked collar and the white of his fur reminds me of Gene Simmons.” You said, holding him up so Eddie could see him.
“Gene it is,” Eddie snorted, kissing the side of your face.
You played with the kitten for a bit while Eddie was in the shower, watching and giggling as it chased the toys and swatted at your hair. He was such a tiny sweet furball that your heart felt like it melted in your chest every time he meowed at you or smacked you with his tiny paw.
“Ready for bed?” Eddie asked once he stepped out of the steamy bathroom.
“Yeah,” you grinned up at him, scooping the tiny kitten up on your way to follow him to the bedroom.
“Baby-” Eddie sighed, watching as you marched past him with the cat.
“I know – I know,” you said, “But it’s his first day here...he’d be lonely and scared in the living room by himself all night.” You poked your bottom lip out as you stared up at him, “Just until he’s settled in here, yeah?”
“Fine,” he sighed softly, playfully smacking your ass as he followed you into the bedroom, “But he gets evicted when we’re having sex.”
You playfully gasped and covered the kittens ears as you stared at him, “Don’t talk like that in front of our child.”
Eddie rolled his eyes as he kicked the door shut behind him and climbed into bed, exhausted from the long day. You curled against him, resting your head on his bare chest as you placed Gene on Eddie’s stomach, watching as he curled into a tiny ball and laid down to sleep.
“Thank you,” you said as you looked up at Eddie, “I know moneys tight right now...but this means everything to me…I was never allowed to have pets at my parents, ya know? They said they were too messy.”
“Yeah, well, their rules don’t apply anymore.” Eddie mumbled, gently scraping his nails through your scalp, “This is our home...our kitten.”
You smiled up at him and leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to his pink lips before whispering, “Love you, Eds.”
“Love you more, doll.”

You and Eddie had woken up late on a Sunday with absolutely nothing to do. Eddie had been dying to have a smoke session with his Bird, and you enthusiastically accepted the offer without really thinking about the fact that you had little to no experience with taking substances.
There you guys were, sitting in the garage on two camping chairs with a small stool in between them. Eddie utilized the stool to hold his baggies of weed and rolling paper.

mungrove prompt. eddie and billy cuddling on a rainy night in the munson trailer watching a horror movie <3 🥺
Billy is just a wet cat of a man. A cat left in the rain and Eddie has the towels for him
Lately, Eddie found himself staying up later and later into the night with no sign of sleep. His record was 5 am before promptly passing out for an hour until his alarm went off.
It seemed Eddie wasn’t the only one struggling this way.
The rain had started early that evening and only got worse as the night went on. It was pouring, drowning out the sound of a car pulling up to the Munson trailer. Eddie was startled out of his half-asleep daze on the couch by rapid knocking on the front door. Apparently, he was taking too long to answer because the knocking just would not let up.
Eddie clicked off the TV- he hadn’t been watching it anyway- and peaked out of the blinds for a hint at whoever could be at the door at this hour.
A deep blue Chevy Camaro sat just in front of Eddie’s trailer, and there was only one person in Hawkins who owned a Camaro that color. There was only one person who owned a Camaro at all.
Oh, Billy.
Billy was no stranger to showing up at Eddie’s unannounced as they didn’t have a good way to communicate yet, but he typically didn’t do it at- what was it now? 2 a.m? Whatever it was, Billy was not the type to show up then.
Eddie opened the front door to exactly what he expected at this point: Billy drenched in rain water. How long had he been standing there while Eddie fought for sleep on the couch?
“You look ridiculous,” Eddie blurted as he pulled Billy inside. The blonde stayed uncharacteristically quiet. “Stay here.” As if Billy had any plans of moving. “I’ll get some towels. And clothes.” Eddie was gone for a blink, returning with an excessive amount of towels and a set of pajamas he knew Billy liked.
All of the items were set aside except for one towel Eddie wrapped around Billy. “Bad day, huh?” Eddie asked, smiling sadly. Billy didn’t need to respond verbally. He sighed and buried his face into the towel, and that was enough to describe his day. Eddie nodded. “Yeah, me too,” he said.
After being aggressively rubbed dry and changing in the living room, leaving him looking more or less like a stray cat, Billy was left to sort through Eddie’s movie collection while Eddie hung up the wet clothes in the bathroom. “Cool stuff, huh?” Eddie said as he returned to join Billy on the floor.
Billy wordlessly held up a tape. The Rats Are Coming! The Werewolves Are Here! Point taken. Billy set it aside. “Where do you even find these?”
Eddie shrugged. “When Family Video decides to clean out their shelves they sell all the old and weird stuff no one’s rented for dirt cheap. The other half of the collection is stuff my uncle picked up.” As Billy popped in a horror movie, Eddie asked, “I thought we were trying to sleep?”
“You can.” Billy backed off to the couch. “I’m not.”
That bad of a day that just going to bed was off the table.
Eddie decided not to argue with it. He found himself falling asleep to the weirdest things, so a slasher on screen didn’t matter. He joined Billy on the couch and opened his arms, letting Billy crawl into his spot in them. He dropped his full weight onto Eddie, making the other squeak, before tucking his head in just under Eddie’s chin. Eddie didn’t think the blonde could actually see the screen, but maybe that’s not what he wanted. Maybe he wanted the background noise. Weird choice, but Eddie couldn’t really judge, when he understood it.
Eddie’s hands combed through Billy’s still damp hair and tugged gently at the drier curls. “I guess you’re staying the whole night then, huh?” There was only a ‘mpfh’ from Eddie’s chest, and Eddie chuckled as if it meant something. It did, of course. “Alright, then. You know you’re welcome.”

okay do you think eddie just loves garfield or did he tell wayne he was going to be the school mascot and now wayne just calls him garfield?
I think that Wayne had the Garfield mug and Eddie got really attached to it when he came to live with him as a kid, probably because it was the only "kiddish" thing that Wayne had in the trailer at the time. So Wayne did the typical dad thing and started bringing him all the Garfield things he comes across that make him think of Eddie: Garfield pajamas at the thrift store, a lamp from a garage sale, ridiculous looking slippers that he just had to pay retail for when he saw them at the store because he knew it would get a good laugh out of Eddie, and of course he wears them around the house. So when Eddie becomes the tiger's mascot, a big orange cat with black stripes, Wayne just chuckles and shakes his head like, "Must be a dream come true for you, huh?"

I Know about Popular has an iron grip on my brain. I was wondering if we could see a moment between Izzy and Eddy about her HRT? Their revelation about how he adores her gender expression was so sweet, but we all know he would be adorably pragmatic about their medical transition as well.
(you got it! posting it here first so I can re-read it in the morning and maybe make some adjustments before it goes to the archive)
Someone stirred nearby and Izzy jolted awake.
“Mm?” Izzy yawned and stretched. He cracked open one eye. It was definitely not morning. “Eddy, what the fuck?”
Shewas in his bedroom doorway draped in one of her robes. Too dark to tell which one by color. The thin slices of light that made it through his curtains painted her face in shadows.  It was a lovely picture and woud have made him very happy if it wasn’t for the fact that she hadn’t been in the apartment when he went to sleep.
“Couldn’t sleep,” she sat down on the edge of his bed.
“So you came across town in your pajamas?” he sat up, hand falling away from the knife under his pillow.
“Stede was asleep.”
“What do you think I was doing? Recreational snoring?”
“You don’t snore,” she tilted her head. “Much. Kind of just a wheezey thing.”
He sat up and tried to breathe evenly so his heart would stop pounding.
“Okay. So. You’re here for a reason then? Or just think I deserve less sleep than him?”
Eddy sighed. Went silent. Jesus fuck. Izzy closed his eyes and tried to rally a few brain cells to his cause.  Words failed him, as they so often did, so he let his body talk, sliding an arm around their waist and pressing his forehead to their shoulder. Eddy went a little limp against him, so he could tuck them further into his body.
“He’s going to freak out in the morning when he wakes up and your gone.”
“Left a note,” she murmured. “Where he’ll see it.”
“Okay....okay,” he breathed out. “You want to get into bed or something?”
“I want to start hormones.”
“Right now?” His tired brain attempted to kick into action.
“As soon as I can, yeah, I think so,” she sighed. “I’ll tell Stede too, but I just....I couldn’t sleep and I kept thinking about it and I have no idea why I’m putting it off, not really. I want it. So. I’m telling you because I know you’ll make it happen even if I get weird about it tomorrow.”
Izzy closed his eyes. He heaved a sigh and pressed a kiss into her hair. “You’re weaponizing me. Against you. On purpose.”
“Little bit,” she admitted.
“Yeah, all right,” he huffed a laugh. “Seems to be for a good cause. Want me to make the appointment? Make sure you get there?”
“Please,” she said into his shoulder. “Come with me? I know Stede would in a second, but you’re good with taking notes and things.”
“Yeah, all right.”
“No questions?”
“Not right now,” his eyes were sliding back closed on their own accord. “Get under the covers, try to sleep. Questions and stuff in the morning.”
“I won’t sleep,” she said with conviction.
“Then don’t sleep,” he reached for the comforter, pulling it out from under pinning legs and drawing it over both of them. “There’s books, there’s the tv and I went grocery shopping this morning. Do whatever.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. I don’t care. Just lay down a sec with me first?”
She stretched out beside him, waited for him to settle, then plastered herself to his back. He fell back asleep as soon as her breathing evened out. The room was suffused with light when he woke again and she had rolled onto her back. He brushed her hair out of his mouth and lay still for awhile longer, letting her sleep as long as he could.  But he had to piss eventually, and in getting out of bed, their eyes shot open.
“I slept?”
“Yeah.”
“Huh.”
“Rubber band snap,” he shrugged, making his way to the bathroom. When he came out, she was pouring beans into the coffee maker that she was petting like a cat.
“What’d you mean by that?”
“You work yourself up, figure out how to solve it, snap back and pass the fuck out.”
“I do?”
“You do.”
“Huh,” she pressed a button. “How come it never helped before? Like you couldn’t make me sleep before.”
“Didn’t do shit this time either,” he pointed out, getting the milk out for her. “All you. How’d you get here last night anyway?”
“Drove the bike. Parked it next to yours.”
His phone buzzed.
Stede: are they all right?
Izzy: seem to be.
Stede:  Please tell her that I had myself a little panic this morning and putting a post-it note on the kettle is not sufficient notice. It took me a startlingly long time to locate it and her phone is off.
“Sunshine is pissed,” Izzy summed up.
“Why?” Eddy blinked.
Izzy hit the call button and handed her the phone, “You handle him, I’ll make coffee.”
The conversation was long, but not loud. Izzy took his coffee to the couch, waiting it out. Eddy slumped down beside him, handing him back his phone and clutching their own mug like a lifeline.
“Apparently,” she said with a huff. “I’m not supposed to disappear in the middle of the night and I should just wake him up next time.”
“Mm.”
“And also the kettle is not ‘obvious in the least’.”
“Mm.”
“AND I’m supported and loved, but should consider having my next crisis at a more ‘civil hour’.”
“Mm.”
“...fuuuck you agree with him don’t you?”
“Have your crisis whenever you want, we’ll be there.”
“You do! You think I should’ve woken him up?”
“Moonbeam, why was it okay to wake me up and not him, huh?” He looked over the rim of his mug at her. “Or just call?”
She fidgeted for a second then set her mug down on the coffee table.
“I wanted to be with you.”
“Oh.” he blinked. “Why? Stede is way better at that shit than me.”
Eddy hesitated, then shrugged and went for it, “You don’t put up with my shit the way he does. It’s great how he accepts me all the time, I love that about him, but sometimes I need someone to push back a little. I knew if I was being too much about this, you’d tell me.”
“You’re not.”
“I know.  Middle of the night thinking,” she admitted. “But I needed you to be yourself and you were, so thanks.”
“Okay?” He watched her carefully. “You’re welcome.”
“You’ll really go with me?”
“Yeah.”
“I’ll change. Slowly, but it’ll happen.”
Izzy considered her, took a sip of his coffee. He had a lot of pitfalls in front of him. But he had always loved running into danger. Especially at her side.
“Tits,” he nodded. “Could be fun.”
“...you’re the worst,” she determined and started laughing. “Jesus fucking Christ. That’s where your head is at?”
“I mean yeah, your hips might change and you skin’ll get softer which...seems fucking impossible, you already feel like cashmere, but sure.  Smell might change, that’ll take some getting used to, but it seems like all the stuff you want, right?”
Eddy stared at him. He braced himself.
“Did you...research that stuff?”
“A while ago. I thought it was something you’d do right away or whatever and I wanted to know. Looked into all the surgeries and stuff too. Sent links to Stede, he said he read them so he’s got an-”
The kiss was sudden and very effective, Izzy tried not to spill hot coffee on the both of them and mostly succeeded. She pulled away an inch, touching their noses together.
“You’re so fucking anal and I love it. I can’t believe you did research. I want to hear more about that, but not right now.”
“Why?”
She plucked the mug out of his hands and leaned into kiss him again. Oh. That was why. He could get behind that.

Stranger Things Egg Baby AU, Wakey, Wakey, Eggs and-
When Steve awoke to the noise of someone else in his house he panicked. Wondering if someone had broken in while he was asleep because it sure as hell wasn't his parents. The sleepy teenager got up in a panic when he remembered the previous night. Right. Eddie Munson was in his house downstairs. Changing out of his pajamas into his usual jeans and polo before heading downstairs to face his injured classmate.
Arriving in the kitchen, Steve found Eddie sat at the kitchen's counter. The metalhead digging through a box of Quisp cereal and shoving handfuls into his mouth. No bowl, no milk, just straight out of the box.
"Morning." Eddie greeted with his mouth still full of cereal as he spoke. Grabbing a bottle of Coke pilfered from his fridge (was he seriously drinking a Coke for breakfast?) and using it to wash down the cereal.
"Has anyone told you not to talk with your mouth full?" Steve asked as he approached the fridge. Opening it and pulling out a carton of strawberries.
"Yeah but I never listened to 'em." Steve grabbed a strawberry and took a bite out of it when he noticed Eddie's leg.
"Take your pants off." Eddie choked on his cereal as Steve said this.
"Scuse me?" The teen choked out.
"I need to change your bandages you perv." Steve rolled his eyes. "Plus those jeans are covered in blood. You're going to have to change. You can borrow a pair of mine."
"Whatever you say nurse Steve." Eddie got up and started to strip in front of the other boy. Steve turning around to avoid eye contact. "You know, I can honestly say I'd never expect the king of Hawkins himself trying to get me in his pants-"
"One more innuendo Munson and I'll kick your barely clothed ass out. I'm not into dudes."
"Seriously Harrington? You're worried I'm going to come on to you? Please, I have some standards."
Okay that hurt his ego slightly but Steve kept quiet as he turned around to see Eddie now dressed in only his Hellfire shirt and boxers. Steve stared for a moment before gesturing for him to go over to the couch. Eddie complied, taking a seat on the couch and stretching his body out. Dramatically lifting his injured leg in the air.
"I'm all yours nurse Steve-shit that hurts."
"Don't extend your leg like that. You'll only aggravate the injury." Unraveling the dirty bandages, Steve tossed them aside and grabbed the supplies bag from the night before. Grabbing the rag and disinfectant Steve began to reclean the wound. This time, he was slightly more gentle.
"So...you going to tell me about that thing that tried to eat me last night?"
"I don't think you're going to believe me."
"Try me."
"Okay but you gotta promise not to tell anyone. Legally I shouldn't be telling you." Eddie made a face at that. "So there's kind of this other world. Like under us. And it has monsters and shit. Remember when Will Byers went missing last year?"
"The kid who supposedly came back to life? Yeah kind if hard to forget with how the town freaked out."
"Yeah, well he was dragged down there by some monster thing."
"Like the one that attacked me?" Eddie prodded as Steve began to bandage his leg again.
"Yeah. The kids call them demi goggles or something stupid like that."
"Do you mean demogorgon?"
"Yeah, that thing....wait how do you know what that is?"
"He's a creature in Dungeons and Dragons." Edddie explained. "He's a Tanar'ri demon prince. In game he has two heads and is super powerful-"
"Yeah whatever." Steve cut Eddie off as he got up. "But those things? Demogorgons, whatever you call them, are dangerous. I thought they stopped it or whatever but one Will's little munchkin friends decided it would be cute to bring a baby one home with him. At least until it ate his cat and broke out. We kind of need to find it before it does anything else." Eddie stared up at Steve blankly, the cogs clearly turning in his head as he took in all the information he was given before letting out a long breath.
"Holy shit."
"Yeah. "
"If I didn't see that thing with my own eyes, I'd say you're full of it."
"Wish I was." Steve watched as Eddie continued to sit there quietly. "...listen it's a lot but we have school in an hour. I'll grab you some jeans, okay?"
Eddie nodded.
~~
A few hours ago Eddie's biggest priority was passing health class with the stupid egg project. Now he had to worry about otherworldly monsters coming from wherever the fuck this other world was and finishing the job they started last night.
He sat in the passenger seat of Steve Harrington's car, wearing an uncomfortably loose pair of jeans that was barely held up by his spiked belt. Eggy Pop was in his jacket pocket and unharmed which he supposed was a plus but again the other worldly monster thing was a mood dampener. The teen was too distracted by the new information to even comment on Steve's choice of radio music. Madonna. Because of course Harrington liked Madonna. Staring out the window at the sparse buildings and empty fids that comprised Hawkins. He wondered if anyone else knew about this supernatural bullshit. All those missing people over the years. Did demogorons eat them? Was that what happened to Barb Holland? Did Steve know?
So many questions Eddie wanted to ask but he was honestly too scared to. Did he even want to know the answers? He couldn't even look over at Steve and instead continued to stare out the car window when he noticed them approaching the school and he finally spoke.
"You can let me out here."
Steve glanced over at him slightly confused as he stopped the car.
"Ugh, why? School's three blocks away."
"Yeah but I'm sure the king of Hawkins doesn't want to be seen with the town freak outside of school doing un egg related things. Imagine what would happen to your reputation."
"Reputation? I don't know if you've heard but as of two days ago, I have none." Steve put the car back into drive and continued the ride to school. "I don't care who sees you getting out of my car or what they're going to say. Can't get any worse."
Considering who was saying this, Eddie was taken aback slightly. Steve Harrington was all image. Yet the look on his face as he pulled into the busy highschool parking lot and parking near the front could obliged be described as confident. The car pulling to a stop and Eddie hesitated a moment before getting out with Steve close behind hum. Everyone turning to stare at the odd duo. Unlike lunch from the day prior, Steve didn't speed away. People whispering as he walked by. Eddie was used to it. Steve wasn't but he didn't seem to mind. It felt nice to not be alone this time. Even if it was Harrington.

hi jade baby!! i’m a bit late to the june baby lovetrain but i needed some time to gather my favourite parts and long commentaries about that work of art – because that’s what it is, a masterpiece, honestly.
first of all: junie!! she’s the loveliest baby in the world and i would die for her. and the way eddie is always calling her “little lady” or “trouble” <\\\3
“There's not nearly as much clutter or decoration as his own home but it's twice as clean and every surface brags a clear affection – you fucking love your daughter. There's a framed photo of her as she looks now at the mantle without a single fingerprint on the glass, baby photos in smaller frames hang on the wall.”
i’m obsessed with the little details you add to your descriptions that end up meaning so much!! like mentioning that junie’s photo doesn’t have a single fingerprint, how her mom loves junie so much that it’s quite literally crystal clear!!
"The oatmeal needs to soften. Is there anything you want with it? I've got lots of options," you tell him, pouring milk into your own mug. When you're done you and Eddie swap. […] Eddie shovels half of the smile into your bowl. You clutch your spoon in your hand like you want to protest, but no way is he gonna watch you miss out on nice things in your own home.
her selflessness and how eddie very quickly realizes it, sharing his own blueberries with her!! 😭😭 also the way you write them having breakfast together, the familiarity of each using something and then swapping right after they’re done with it 😭😭 there’s so many other scenes where you write their domesticity so beautifully – when eddie mentions the luxury that is having someone washing his hair in juxtaposition of everything being so small, when she starts humming while cutting it and he says that doubts she realises what she’s doing. another personal favourites are “She also points at the red cat and says blue. It's a learning curve.” and "Ooh, she's so smart. First blue, then red. Next you'll be saying indigo, and vermillion, and-"
“Jammies," he repeats. You hate how happy he looks.
and
"Nobody ever asks about work," you say.
and also
“He thinks if Junie could understand how often her mom prioritises her and misses out for her she'd want to fix that. Eddie doesn't know you half as well as she does and it breaks his heart sometimes to watch you insist on a smaller portion, to watch you put things back at the grocery store because she wants a box of milk duds, even to watch you wear yourself out ironing baby clothes in the only pair of pajamas you own.”
the way eddie picks up how everything in her life seems to be a little junie-centered and actually makes an effort to ask about her!! how his features always soften when she casually slips these details 🥺🥺
“You’d die for Junie. You’d do worse. But to eat, to know she’s fed — gorged — to know you can sit here and eat this whole bowl of fruit all to yourself and you won’t have to put it down, that’s heaven. It’s better, because you never let yourself have anything nice if you can help it. The fruit turns to a lump in your throat and you swallow it, sniffling. Your lashes grow heavy with unshed tears and you keep your gaze resolutely on your dessert. When was the last time you had something this nice all to yourself? When was the last time somebody ever went out of their way to be this nice?”
she’s since the beginning saying how nice eddie is and how she’s always looking after her and junie until this moment where his affection overcomes her 😭😭😭
there’s so many other scenes and lines i could talk about, honestly. the “Eddie Munson is an expert at pushing his luck” and “You do, but it's not really what he'd meant.” are also personal favourites. but my absolute favourite scene must be this one:
You tuck his hair behind his ear and grin at him. "Now what are you sorry for?" Your hand lingers near his cheek. Slowly, you turn it, pressing the knuckle of your index finger into the skin under his eye and rubbing a small line. He worries he’s in love with you right then and there. […] Your beaming smile hits him straight in the chest. He thinks about how beautiful you look and can't stop, hiding his face in your stomach to stop from saying something stupid, laughing loud. You laugh in tandem, hugging the back of his head until your giggles peter out.
their closeness!! their affection!! their familiarity!! jade, your writing is genius, i don’t think i have enough words to talk about it. honestly, thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us – and for free! you’re insane. you’re spectacular, really.
i’m sure this is the longest ask i’ve ever sent you, (sorry 😅😅) so I’ll shut up for now! can’t wait to read the next part of june baby, but please take your sweet time to write it and please please take care of yourself, baby. super super proud of you and your writing, sweetheart!! ily!! 💌 - lu
oh my god oh my god this is such a treat, i still can't believe you noticed the fingerprints thing im <3
thank you so much for taking the time to collect your fave parts and share them with me I promise it means EVERYTHING to me, I love love love seeing what you liked and what you thought
you're more than kind, thank you for this 😥 it feels like such a gift, I must've read this ask five times over now with a smile. to think something that I see myself as a silly story and know you like it idk it's just insane
and thank you for always making me feel so special, you're always saying i should be proud and that you're proud of me and you're just so sweet, i know i don't deserve it but im selfishly so happy that you expend the time and effort to be this lovely to me
