kido's is BANDS. specifically bands considered emo back in 2013 or something. my chemical romance. blink 189. black veil brides. that was their shit. also im sorry but they were a superwholock. sorryyyyyy i also think they'd be into medical dramas like grey's anatomy and dr house LMAO

I dont think the song is getting payola, nor playlists by paying for it and neither ads on youtube. First, the song was sent to radios, but just a few of them r playing it, one of them being a guy who loves to plays "k-pop" songs. If there was payola, it would be playing everywhere all the time already. The playlist thing: just like "like crazy eng. ver", seven entered the Today's Top Hits playlist. But at #23 place. Seven is doing AWESOME numbers because: its a english catchy song, with a cute mv, sang by THEE Jeon Jungkook. Im not joking, seven is really a gp success.. yesterday i saw 3 people from my daily life and inner circle talking about loving the song. My sister, who is not an army, said that she listened to the song all day while i was not home. Gp is loving it. So they did with butter (which is a eng song too), but Seven has a differential: the clean and explict version r being counted combined. Plus, seven is doing awesome everywhere, even in korean charts.

If there was something shady going on, i dont think they would make more than 1 version for the song, even on youtube (there is a new perfomance video for the explict ver). They would just send to radios and count on the payola and the deals w spotify, tiktok, youtube, for the charts (thats what most western artists does). But since billboard started filtering the songs so much so that made like crazy drop from 1 to 45 in a week and then stopped counting digital versions from usa based artist stores, BTS had to start making available to fans different versions of the same song because they know they cant count on radio, but can count on the sales and streams. Since Like Crazy, i feel like Hybe is experimenting ways of overcoming the sabotage by the industry.

The thing is, i think we can and should talk and raise questions about how jimin was treated badly, in every chart and streaming platform. For example, views from youtube were not being frozen in Yoongi's songs too, just like jk's. So, its not a privilege that jk is receiving, its just that something was really happening with face promotions, who knows what and why. But that was not jk's or any member fault.

Anyway, i'm happy for jk and i know much more is coming his way. And i cant wait for jimin to make a new comeback soon too. I hope it all goes well yk, Jimin deserves the best in his promotions just like jk and the other members. Lets hope. It's just that, I was scrolling through instagram, and it was on of the reels where- people have to tilt their heads to choose between kpop groups. Being a stray kids video, the creator only showed where people were choosing SKZ.

I went to the comments of this video- and i noticed one person talking about how RM (BTS) had found the MANY fanfictions written by army, and said how it made him uncomfortable, the commenter then went on to tell us (STAY) that we should completely stop writing fanfiction because of how it might make the boys feel. (which I understand and i dont have an issue with this part)

What do you think about this? Because when I read it I felt... really conflicted, i might ask one or two other creators on tumblr to see their opinions. but what's your take?

i personally am uncomfortable writing member x member fic. that's the most common fic that exists in fandoms like this one so i get that most people are fine with it. some people think reader fic is the worst kind. some people think fic about irl people in any form is wrong. i've seen ppl say if you write fic about irl people u should kill yourself. i've seen people say writing fic about fictional characters from live action media isn't any better because people are still picturing the actors or whatever. some people think smut in all forms is wrong (god i could rant about this one all day).

my point is people have all kinds of opinions and it's based on what makes them uncomfortable so it's something you have to make your own mind up about. if something makes you uncomfortable, don't engage, don't search, just block/ignore. your opinion should determine what you engage with, not what you think others should engage with.

i think where clear boundaries are crossed is if you send it to people who did not ask to see it, including the idols themselves. don't put it in their faces and keep it in the correct tags so only people searching for it find it and we're all good. that's my opinion.

Your favorite band for the ask game?

DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON BTS MAN,,,,,bts fans get a bad rap for being overly parasocial and I’m not gonna argue that’s not the case, but I think a lot of ppl who aren’t into them or haven’t been aware of them since before they really took off quite understand a) the depth of content available and b) just how painfully honest the members are in regards to their career, the industry they’re in, and how it’s affected their lives. And even, honest about the fact that they aren’t always honest, if that makes sense. A lot of BTS’s work is abt the many different faces u wear for the different people in your life, and how while some of those faces are a performance, they can still be an honest piece of u. and how crushing it is when they’re not. the desire for connection anyway. I don’t know them personally and I never well, and that distance is important to maintain, but I choose to believe that the parts of themselves that they perform in their art are something that they’re honestly trying to communicate with me. if i find out I’m wrong one day, then I’m wrong, and kudos to them for the world’s longest long con honestly lol

And also just like. I love their music. It’s shaped so much of my outlook on life. its made me kinder to others and myself. There’s this one quote namjoon said during his ending ment at a concert that translated was like. “If we or our songs, our stages, photos or videos can support your dreams and make your lives better, or if we can cut your pain & sorrow even by a little bit from 100 to 99, 98, or 97, then the value of our existence is enough.” and genuinely I think abt that any time I create. i think abt black swan and the sea metaphor across their catalog every day. goodness.

And by god are they PERFORMERS. u can just tell they truly love being on stage, u can feel them fully embody the moment they’re in, and I find it really inspiring. and u know. they dance good

there was this time in the v, jungkook, jhope, and jin Vlive where jin says these two just fought and tae says "no we don't fight, we just get into trouble together." Its obviously impossible for them not to fight, but I think their fights are either so insignificant or super personal that they wouldn't want to disclose it on camera. If they "fight" or argue, I'm inclined to believe that they resolve it quickly. There was this fancam of bts in danger era (i wish i had the video but i dont, so i hope u know what im referring to) where jungkook clearly upset tae over something and jungkook really looks upset and tries to make up to him. He ends up going after tae backstage to apologize. (Some say its because jk didnt respect tae as a hyung). Theres another one in DNA era. Theres actually quite a lot of moments like this. My point is there is a reason why taehyung keeps saying they never fight. It could be because he wants people to know him and jk are close or their fights are just really insignificant or they just want to keep their relationship things personal. I’m also inclined to believe their fights aren’t out there? Idk how to describe what i mean, but they look really calm when they get into disagreements. In the same vlive, tae says jungkook doesnt come home after practice and jungkook just pouts (HES SO CUTE WHEN HE POUTS HE LOOKS LIKE A PETULANT CHILD) and tae says “u need to eat” in the sweetest voice ive ever heard. I noticed that tae really observes jungkooks habits and vice versa, thats why hes concerned that he hasnt been eating

Yes, I agree -- this is one of those things that just reads as couple behavior to me.  Any two people who are close are bound to argue sometimes, but the fact that they don’t want anyone thinking that they fight seems pretty telling to me.

I’ve said before that I sort of figure when they say this, they mean that they don’t get into any really big fights, rather than that they never argue at all, but either way they might mean it, it’s interesting that they’re so invested in disavowing the idea that they fight with each other at all.

And I definitely agree too that Taehyung is very engaged with Jungkook’s habits and the like, just as Jungkook is really engaged with certain details about Taehyung.  I’ve noticed that Jungkook is particularly invested in Taehyung’s quality of work, if that makes sense.  Like, he always wants to make sure Tae is doing things right when it comes to dance routines and stuff like that, but he’s also really protective of him when it comes to things like cooking and stuff.

These are just some of those little details and patterns of behavior that set them apart from the dynamics between other members, in my opinion.

i started out as an nct fan because around 3 yrs ago, one of my friends back in college showed me their mv for the 7th sense (still so good if u havent seen it) and i was intrigued bc it was so diff from what i thought kpop sounded like!! my hs friends had shown me svt videos (like pretty u) but i was like eh idk if this is for me…and look at me now hahaha. besides nct and skz, i also like txt, svt, day6, p1h and then there are a bunch of groups whose stuff i like and will listen to but i dont rly know anything about them yet! how about you, do you mostly follow skz and sf9? it does take a lot for me to get into a group fully so for the longest time i was just into nct bc i was like 23 men is enough for me 😂 i think now i like nct and skz the most, i like the other groups too but it takes a lot to reach top tier for me lol idk how to explain it but i feel like theres also an emotional aspect to it LOL like im not sure why exactly skz hit for me more than txt for example (though i also love txt) but it just happened 😂

You pull up the most recent video, and the music plays softly from your phone's speakers as he watches you lip sync, then move the phone down and move your hips along to the beat. Once the video starts to play again, you tap the screen and glance at him, your chest tightening a bit at the awkward silence.

"Uh, have you made any videos Bakugou?"

He scoffs and leans back, head titled as he stares at the ceiling.

"Nah, I'm not a tiktok junkie."

"I-"

"Didn't say you were, woman."

You nod and look away, starting to imagine Bakugou getting sturdy or doing stiff hips. You stifle a giggle before turning back to him.

The video starts and you lip sync along, trying not to laugh at Bakugou's pout, then bring the phone down to your hips and start to move.

Once the song stops you bring the phone back up to your face and laugh. He was barely visible at the lower angle, his hips rolling but way behind you.

"Why are you so far, Bakugou? You're supposed to be directly behind me."

He grumbles under his breath but doesn't protest when you start over. You lip sync once again and bring the phone down, and this time Bakugou is on you, his print pressing snug against your ass and almost making you drop your phone. You push your ass back hard on the last part, elicting a punched sound from his throat.

Once the video starts to play again you try to take a step forward, but big hands on your hips stop you.

"The fuck was that?"

"Excuse me?"

"That shit you just did, at the end."

I’m really hating the new streaming culture & total reliance on popularity in Kpop... it’s literally gotten to the point where it doesn’t matter how well you sing and dance, how original your ideas are or anything. It’s ONLY about how many teens and preteens waste hours streaming your videos and tweeting about you... it’s so ridiculous that music shows base their awards on these things. And some of them going to the point of manipulating views lmao. Having a popularity award is fine but honestly what’s the point of having mediocre music and artistes be at the “top” across the board just bc the demographic that’s obsessed with them have the most time to waste?

It’s gotten to the point where artistes are practically begging us to stream & I can’t blame them bc it’s their livelihood and they work so hard & are super talented but :/ if western 6-18yo girls aren’t obsessed w ur music it’s like you’ve “failed”. Which is absolutely ridic.

Not only is it a crappy measure of actual talent and artistry but it breeds unhealthy obsessions which cause a host of other problems between artists & fans, between fandoms & within fandoms themselves.

I mean jimin keeps constantly mentioning it and its not like vminnies were begging or dying for a vmin live everyday even before jimin mentioned it last year. Since Admin 2 can’t type their thoughts themselves, I’ll relay their thoughts to you instead, since they had more thoughts/opinions/ideas in regard to this than I do, to be honest.

Admin 2 is sure that there is a good chance that we will get a vmin vlive sometime soon, which I know contradicts their original opinion and post from a few months ago, but there’s a reason for it. During the zoom meeting between BTS and ARMY they noticed something I don’t think anyone else noticed, or at least neither of us has seen any vminnies mention it anywhere, which in conjunction with Jimin’s vlive today and saying how he’d talk to Tae about doing a mandaggo vlive again, as well as another observation a little while ago, leads them to this conclusion.

So, the observation from the zoom meeting. Basically at one point when the question of Jimin doing a vlive arose Tae looks at Jimin and then he nods while smiling which in turn makes Jimin smile as he turns away from Tae and back to face toward the camera before answering the question and saying how he’ll come visit us the next day. Which he did.

Then the other observation from a while ago, this one being from their OT7 vlive celebrating their BBH100 #1 on June 29th where at one point Jimin says something but slips into satoori after which Tae encourages him to say that again but this time in the Seoul accent, so the way they actually should speak, which Jimin says isn’t difficult but he doesn’t actually end up repeating what he said.

And lastly in today’s vlive Jimin mentioned how he’s using satoori quite often but that he isn’t all that good at doing it on command or at teaching it to others, which is something he’d have to do for mandaggo but I’m sure he’d manage just fine if the time came for it.

Based on that Admin 2′s thoughts are basically that Jimin really meant it when he said, last year, that he’ll bring Tae around for a vlive, that it wasn’t a joke or a way to tease us with something he knew he wouldn’t be able to deliver, but rather that up until this point they weren’t quite sure how to do it. Which sounds a bit odd, I know, but what they mean is that if vmin were to just sit down in front of the camera and were supposed to just talk based on what the chat would give them, it would likely just turn out awkward and weird and no one, including them, would really have fun. Even more so when we take into account how idiotic the chat is during regular vlives so now imagine if those two were to do one together that’s just a casual chat. It would likely end up in disaster and honestly I wouldn’t wish it upon them to read all those awful comments that they would likely get, even worse ones than they already get normally, to be honest.

But now that the whole satoori thing was brought up, and Jimin actually mentioned mandaggo and wanting to bring it back after so many years, Admin 2 thinks that they must’ve finally figured out a solution to their problem, if you can call it that. Doing mandaggo would basically mean they would have an activity, something to do similar to how they did those ASMR videos for the Japanese Fan Club which were fun and cute, and so Admin 2 thinks that perhaps chances are we will finally get the vlive we’ve waited for so long (though like many others I’ve long given up the idea).

Another confirmation is that during his vlive today Jimin basically said that he only came by for a little while since they are quite busy and had to soon get ready for work with the other members but that he’ll return in two or three weeks for a more proper, longer, vlive. So, he could’ve treated today’s vlive as the promised one but instead he saw it more as a bridging one between the zoom meeting and the proper vlive he wants to do, so is it the farfetched to think that he had proper plans for a vlive, like doing mandaggo, but it just wouldn’t have worked out time wise today so he moved the actual vlive he wanted to make to a later date?

One last thing (well two actually) that has nothing to do with this question but Admin 2 wanted me to include it anyway is that one, have you noticed how Tae and Jimin were both on weverse around 3 am (until almost 4am (also both of them posting a comment to some post at 03:41 am KST)) one after the other (though with one day of a break in between them) recently and then also two, that Jimin was up until like 6 am (since he posted on weverse around that time) on the 8th and then during the zoom meeting Tae answered a question by saying that he’d been awake until 6 am the previous day (also the 8th) since he wanted to see the sunrise? Which is also something an anon mentioned to us. Curious, isn’t it?

So jimin wwnt live today and one of the accounts on twt posted a screen cap of them commenting 'touch your hair if vmin is real' in the live chat and jimin's reaction to it. Now idk if it is an edit or real. No matter i just want to say its not ok to bring up ships in front of the members no matter which ship it is. We dont know the reality of their relationship so lets not make them uncomfortable. Its not a joke. Its not funny. Be respectful the members are real people.

(Admin 1 taking over from this point onward) This ask nicely ties into the last one that’ll be further down in this post since they cover a similar issue of sorts. But let’s start with this one asking about, essentially, vlive comments and the things fans ask/comment, which also ties in with the above ask as well.

The thing with the vlive chat, and especially comments/questions that are like anon said, questions or “commands/requests” about touch your hair if XYZ ship is real or cough twice if you love XYZ member or, likewise, comments such as where is XYZ member or what are the other members doing, unfortunately those have been a steady and unchanging part of the vlive chat since basically forever. It’s been an issue on and off with different intensities though I feel like it’s gotten worse again this year. Particularly if we look back at the vlive Tae did with Hobi and Yoongi and how essentially the entire chat was filled with comments related to Xkook and not much else.

If my memory doesn’t fail me we once even had a situation some years ago (2016) where the chat during Hobi’s vlive was so bad, as in so full of questions about that other members instead of him, that you could see he was upset about it and eventually he handed over the vlive to Jimin, whom the chat had requested Hobi to visit, and Hobi just left. And I can’t blame him for it since the chat must’ve made him feel like basically no one cared about him so what was even the point of him being there, right?

Personally I’ve long given up looking at the comments during vlive because they just make me cringe and feel bad for the members, especially when I think back to vlives such as Yoongi’s D2 one last year where he was so excited to talk about the songs and the process of making the mixtape and yet so many of the comments were just unrelated nonsense and annoying request like speak english or can you say my name or say hello in XYZ language. If it makes me question why the people posting those questions are in the chat, why they are fans to begin with, imagine what the members must feel like, how discouraging that must feel like. After all they are musicians and yet so rarely do they get questions about that. Or rather they do get them but they are just drowned out by nonsense. Which is a shame. And also very disrespectful but any attempts that were made to remind people to be respectful, to remember their place as fans, to focus on the member that’s doing the vlive instead of asking about the others, and to keep ships away from the members have failed because some don’t care and will continue to not care.

Now I’d like to preface my answer to this last question by saying that by no means do my grievances come from a place of jealousy or anything. I’m very happy for all the ARMYs that won their spot, that they got to participate in the event and that BTS got to see ARMYs again even if only on screens and not in person still. No, my issue stems from something completely different, and I don’t want to say that the system chose the wrong people, because that would be mean and also who even knows how the winners were chosen, if it was pure luck or there were some actual criteria that went into the process, but the fact is that only a select 200 ARMYs got that spot out of however many that applied, so basically for some this was a once in a lifetime chance, right, even just getting this close to asking Bangtan a question and have really great chances of having them give you an answer while acknowledging you somewhat instead of just seeing pure words on a screen, you know what I mean?

Now imagine you are one of those 200 ARMYs and you get the chance to fill the chat with questions along with the other 49 participants of your session and you decide that asking questions such as what it’s like for Jimin to work as angel, if Namjoon ever broke a bicycle, or why JK smells the crowns of the other members heads? Or even worse, you decide to ask about JKs shower routine and in which order he washes his body? And sure, the “fault” doesn’t fall completely on the ARMYs alone, after all it’s the members who read out those questions and not some magical off screen entity, and since I wasn’t part of the event I can’t say with a hundred percent certainty that no one asked any “proper” questions, but if those were the questions that ended up being read out loud, is it that hard to guess that likely all the questions looked similarly? 

Which brings me to my main grievance of it all: have you forgotten that you are fans of musicians and not reality TV stars or vloggers/influencers? I know there were likely no rules for what questions you could or couldn’t ask (except for probably ones that were 100% about shipping or far too personal), but really, you get to ask your favorite band a question, something you might never, ever get the chance to do again, and your first thought isn’t to ask about their music but instead about some unimportant nonsense like the angel question or if they differentiate between the clothes they wear at home and those they sleep in? Like sure the angel one was kinda funny, maybe, and Jimin handled it in a cute way, I applaud him for it, but was that really necessary?

I know someone asked JK about Decalcomania, as well as Tae about his mixtape, and Yoongi/Jimin about Tony Montana (season 2), but other than that were there any other questions about their music? Perhaps I’m overthinking things, maybe I’m exaggerating and maybe I’m the only one who sees an issue with this, but if I would’ve won a spot, I’d rather have asked something about their process when writing lyrics or creating beats or how they prepare when learning new choreographies, what it’s like to be on tour (though perhaps that would be a mean question seeing as tours aren’t really something that’ll continue being possible for a while still), you get the point.

It makes me wonder if it was just bad luck or if it had something to do with how old the participants were (I saw some being as young as fifteen), which isn’t to say that teens can’t ask smart questions because they definitely can just like adults can ask stupid ones as well, but somewhere something, in my opinion, just went weirdly. And maybe that was the point of it all, for the event to be casual, funny, lighthearted, but my question then is when is the time for music discussions? For fans to ask those types of questions that actually have something to do with the boys careers? When even journalists aren’t asking them proper questions, ARMYs aren’t either, so what is the point of it all then?

Then again, after the event concluded and Seokjin came onto vlive he seemed so happy and excited, so maybe they had fun (I mean they seemed to have fun) and didn’t mind at all that the questions were lighthearted and silly, maybe I’m the one making mountains out of molehills. I don’t know, but anon wanted to know my thoughts/opinions, and this is them. Once again, I don’t mean to be mean toward the ARMYs that got rightfully in, that won, and I don’t want to insult them for the questions they asked, perhaps I just expected/hoped for something a little different? I started following jaedo as a ship in 2017 and realised that they were closer then the others in the band. Jaedotae seemed closer and talked the most with eachother in 2017, this was also the time I got into johndo, dotae as much as I was in jaedo but it always was clear that jaehyun gives in to doyoung alot quicker and that makes them click better then rest of my ships in 127 This also was the time when it was very apparent that my dreamies ship was fighting alot bts (markhyuck 2017 summer fight), this made me more interested in ships of 127.

I usually dont ship ppl who arent  close at all, so jaedo grew on me alot more then johndo or dotae did (2017 was the time when doyoung was alot more chummy with taeyong on screen but taeyong wouldn't give him the same kind of clingy mess we're in habit of now) Then came the chinese new years videos, the "sauna room" jaedo is one of the reasons inwas like doyoung is really pushing the boundaries and testing the patience of jaehyun. Their was bit in which u can clearly see jaehyun trying to push doyoung head forward (now that I know doyoung alot better I've a feeling he did it deliberately) I didnt think it was for fanservice but I was a little shocked that they both dont have boundaries with eachother, I still didnt really believe they were sus at this moment but I started shipping them harder. I liked their Show Champion interviews where they talked abt them not agreeing on stuff and bickering alot. They were called the old married couple by a few of neos in 2017, so that made me like them more (as I like my ships to be best friends but also bickering best friends) I think the first time it hit me that they were at least sex buddies if nothing more was their vlive with kunwoo, they both were all over eachother and this was also the first time we saw doyoung being very obsessive abt anyone touching jaehyun. This also was the time when we had very happy jaedo, this made me follow them alot more on nct night night and I watched all the episodes that were streamed. I even tried to follow alot more jaedo and jaehyun focused twitter accounts as I wanted to know what was being said in the shows. Slowly I started noticing how soft and fluffy they were with eachother, this made me suspect that they might not just be sleeping with eachother but also might be dating eachother. 2018 is also the time I told my only nctzen friend that I suspected jaedo were more then colleagues and they loled and stopped talking to me... (this was still the time I felt comfortable reading while looking for a jaedo fanfic I found ur site) For once i felt like I'm not crazy, as a shinee fan I had loled at ppl who used to think jongkey was a real thing. They both were very clearly LGBTQ but they were very much friends and liked staying in their own bubbles. But we had 2 ppl (jaedo) who were apparently very much in eachothers bubbles and liked being there. The thing that made me think that they were not just colleagues was the vlive of jaedomark from the kbs show (https://www.vlive.tv/video/62862) when i found it in middle of summer 2018 (this video is also the reason i suspect they started dating in end of feb). Jaedo kept looking at eachother and mark became very awkward between them. I personally think jaedo dating was known to markhyuck the earliest, they were also their roommates when they started dating I think. For my speculations, I think jaehyun has always known he wasnt straight, I think he also has told his parents abt him not being straight and didnt get any negativr feed back. As for doyoung, he might have had a hard time accepting himself not being straight, He was religious and also has been in a family who had goals for their kids. He broke their dreams once by not getting into education so it must have been tough for him to accept he wasnt "normal" either. I think that the chinese new year was when doyoung told jaehyun something that made jaehyun very hopeful, the whole video is just jaehyun trying to keep doyoung near him. I think they started dating in a non serious way (I like the korean word some, I believe they started "some" after the jaehyuns b.day in 2018). I think that coz of they way jaehyun reacted on his b.day, he wanted doyoung to keep his attention to him when they had a vlive in the fanmeeting venue or when he saw doyoung in the radio studio. I think taeyong was the one who took it badly, them dating. It's not coz he was homophobic or hated them but it was coz jaedo were the ones closest to him and he wasnt in the secret. This is also the reason he started clinging to doyoung more.
