mizisua analysis :) (spoilers!!)

hello :), ik i'm a little late, but the mizisua video already released and here is a small analysis i made, this post will be divided in 2 parts: the actual analysis of the video and how it proves a theory i had, so without furder ado, lets start （。＾▽＾）

i think the video was a nightmare of mizi, my reasons are:

mizi and sua canonicly met at anakt garden, and we dont have information of them meeting before

it doesn't seem logical to me that mizi cried so hard when sua went away, taking into account it was the first time they saw eachother

at the end of the video we can se mizi layed in a couch, crying, as if she just woke up from a nightmare (i will talk more about that scene later)

other thing i noticed is that the video references certain parts of sua's amd mizi's story, for example, mizi being the one who approached sua while the melody of my clemantis (specificly the part of when mizi and sua met in round 1), melody that also reproduces when mizi and sua separate (and the part that played was the same as when sua died), that's why i think the video was a nightmare of mizi who reflected some parts of their story and how painful their separation was (ik it hurts ;-;).

at the end, we see mizi laying and crying after waking up from the nightmare, and since i was curious about that scene i edited the photo and i found some things :)

we can observe that:

mizi is wearing her round 5 oufit and her hair looks a little messy (like in the end of round 5)

she seems to be in a place that looks like if its abandonded, or slightly hidden, it looks like a hideout to me (or at least, not the place where the contestants would be kept before the next round)

there is an earth poster in the wall

taking this into account...could this mean that mizi is alive and she's currently in the hideout of the people who rescued her???? this seems to make sense but idk (i hope i'm right :') )

in previous posts, i mentioned that i had a theory abt sua, my theory is that sua was mistreated by her guardians and that mizi was the only person she ever loved, also sua knew abt the dangers abt alien stage, but decided to not tell mizi (if you want i could explain why i thought that). the video proves my theory bc it shows that sua's guardians never loved her (her situation is similar to ivan's/luka's) but it also shows that mizi's guardians were nice to her (could mizi be manipulated by them into thinking alien stage wasn't dangerous? maybe). finally, i would like to note how it was shown the differences between growing in a negligent/abusive enviroment and a loving one (sua and mizi respectively), i think the way it was shown and how it affected mizi and sua was pretty goood :)

OH MYG OD okay hey

shadow s5 as a dynamic is so interesting to me because its very similar yet very VERY different all the same because of exactly who gets changed.

so first on like individual levels heres how i take the shadows ahem clears throat (STINKS that we dont have canon aloarmy but okayyy hinodeya)

shadow rider is canonically a coward, hes nervous and self doubting. hes verrrry exaggerated in the manga so i like to exaggerate him in writing. i think hes more of an incompatible follower who cant get picked by anyone instead of a compatible loner who chose to be alone like normal rider.

shadow army has no canon interp so i interpet them similarly to how eging jr was flipped but in reverse. theyre less organized, they dint fuckin button their shirt right they wear their coat unzipped shitty tie shitty facepaint yk the deal. i also interpret them as more aggresively rebellious where normal army is more of a passive stickler. that basically means they’re more laid back and explicit.

shadow aloha ALSO has no canon. so i interp him as a loooserrr LMAO very sarcastic but very pessimistic, where normal aloha is more of a sarcastic optimist. he comments on shit in the background like hes talkin to someone even tho nobody gives a fuck what he thinks and he doesn’t particularly care about his surroundings. overall just the loser in the corner of a party sitting down holding a drink instead of the main focus.

shadow mask is silly. silly guy. they’re obviouslt exaggerated a LOT in the manga so i like to tone them down just a bit, acting more happy for the sake of being happy instead of high energy. that contrasts masks ideal of being cynical for the sake of being cynical. i think both are sarcastic but on shadow masks side xe doesn’t mean it, and they come off as insincere, explaining how their excitement at the battle felt like excessive overkill despite it not being so.

shadow skull is very similar to normal skull in expressiveness, but is different in awareness. i think shadow skull is very aware of his surroundings but not very emotionally empathetic. i think what he lacks in empathy is made up for in his directness.

shadow s5 is interesting because it pretty much completely throws the social dynamic of s5. normal s5 is 1 extrovert 1 ambivert 3 introverts, and instead of shadow s5 being 4 extroverts 1 ambivert 1 introvert, shadow s5 is ACTUALLY 2 extroverts 3 introverts. which makes it even more interesting because of just how much more balanced it makes their social interactions split into duos.

for example shadow raimask is very chill since they both share a similar mindset, where shadow raimask is chaos because they have directly oppising mindsets. on the flip side shadow alomask is direct opposites, and normal alsomask is ALSO direct opposites but swapped over. i could talk about it for a while but i think i would start rambling like a crazy person. i like the idea of shadow s5 in a more casual light instead of the manga’s exaggerated one. it would give more insight to their personalities and interactions but we cant have Anything can we bcz hindodeya haaaates meeeeee.

Initial impression: confusion, hesitance, a little weirded out. Wasn't Severus in love with Harry's mom? Isn't that kinda creepy to be dating Lily's kid?

Improved impression: UNHINGED SCREAMING. Wasn't Severus in love with Harry's mom? Yes, and that's why this ship is so interesting (although one could argue it was platonic love but that was definitely not what was written in canon). Isn't that kinda creepy to be dating Lily's kid? Yes, and it creates such a fascinating relationship dynamic. Harry's eyes, Lily's eyes. Who does Severus really see when he looks at Harry? How can he resist falling for Harry when he already fell so hard for Lily all those years ago (and still carries a torch for her)? Answer: he can't.

In terms of cross-gen pairings for Severus, Snarry is probably my favorite. I don't really see him as the type of person to go after one of his students unless it was under very pressurized circumstances. Say, for example, in the middle of a war and he's just trying to do his goddamm best at keeping this infuriating kid alive. I could also possibly see Snaco, but that's an essay for another day. Although Eldritcher has an amazing Snudley fic that I devoured.

Surprisingly enough, I also enjoy reading Snarry in different AUs, outside the HP universe or the war doesn't exist universes. I attribute that largely to you actually. You kept posting so many Snarry recs in the CoMS discord, and I kept clicking them haha. But I do think their underlying personalities remain. Severus is an insecure, bitter, ugly (yes ugly) man. He thinks the best years of his life were stolen from him. He does not see any reason to care. Harry is an impassioned, stubborn, reckless youth. He listens to Severus. He finds a way to get past that bitter exterior and in a way Severus lets him. He makes Severus feel seen when really that was all he ever wanted.

And wow, that turned into a whole essay. Apparently, I have more thoughts about Snarry than I thought. I've never written a full Snarry fic, but I am oh-so-tempted by the Snarry AUctober Fest.

Winx Club Rewatch Season 1 episode 5 : Date with Disaster

From now on I'm watching it in english (I have no idea which dub though there's so many...watching it in French was easy there's only one 😂

BIIITCH, SHUT THE FUCK UP!!! Hush was so fucking goood!!! And that gif at the start???? I started out reading your story at ao3 but I’m so grateful for switching to tumblr. The thought you put into every detail of this AU blows me away every time (not to mention the research, the motivation of the characters, the life you’ve breathed into them 🤯). And don’t get me started on Daemon’s dirty talk - the way you write him is pure perfection!!! I’m always left wanting more and yet it’s always the perfect amount at the right time. I can read 50+ chapters of him just talking dirty shit. Thank you soo much for giving us another chapter from his perspective!!

I know the current story doesn’t have a plot per se buuut it’s such a great way pf building up their relationship without taking away from the amazing plot you’ve built in the other instalments. Plus, and idk if that was your intention, but I like that it shows that Daemon is really obsessed as a person and as much as they’re both wanting to have a child that’s not what their relationship is about. He’s never resentful or questioning why she’s not preggo yet. I honestly thought I would like the new story but I would be impatiently waiting for the baby fic, however once again you exceeded any expectation I had and I’m genuinely having the best time reading your story. Full honesty tho - at the end of each chapter I thinking ‘yep, that’s the one, ain’t no way she’s not pregnant after that dicking down 😅

Omg, thank you so much! I was terrified I went too far with 'Hush', as it's quite icky but I just so badly wanted to write this after @storyblackhold and I had the most FERAL discussion about it. I knew I wanted to post on AO3 as I friggin' love AO3, but there seems to be so much more of a community for this here on Tumblr (plus I can put thirsty GIFs in and make my page pretty lol). Can't tell you how much time I've wasted actually combing through footage and converting GIFs myself - the one for 'Hush' was one I cut! And it is so fun that my nerd love for research is paying off. To think this started as a dirty excuse to fantasise about Matt Smith in a platinum wig throwing the word 'cunt' around... Then I had to make the High Valyrian accurate by manually translating it... Then I was studying scenes and tweaking them for my own purposes... Next thing you know, I'm researching how a medieval healer could have inadvertently caused the death of their labouring patient by giving them toxic fungus lol. Now, we at a whole fic with a backstory, what the hell. Keep in mind that the remedy Maester Gerardys uses on poor Reader's leg in 'Hush' was also something I researched! Myrrh has a lot of antibacterial properties, and it was said that olive oil formed a barrier on wounds to prevent infection. Plus, the oil would stop the bandage from sticking as much.

This smut anthology is a great way to throw in tidbits of character building and general plot points without getting derailed by a whole narrative arc; for example, we learn that Reader goes back to King's Landing fairly regularly, that they've settled well into life at Dragonstone, that Daemon has stuff to do on the island (i.e. training those fuckwits from the Second Company) and that he's built a sort of reluctant friendship with Harwin. We learn that Otto's still being a bitter bitch about Daemon finding actual happiness, and that Lord Lyman is a G. Little things, ya know? As for the pregnancy thing, it can take quite a while to conceive, and as of yet it isn't the burning urge of both of them to have a kid; they're still learning each other (hehe) and figuring out how to navigate life as a married couple. Keep in mind also that this anthology will only vaguely span a few months - there's no exact order to them, nor a specific timeline, but we aren't talking years or anything. I know there are examples of women falling pregnant like immediately after they marry, but I see that used a lot and I wanted to explore the option of... not exploring it? I don't know if that makes sense. Let's just say that Daemon's not keeping track of her cycle or anything, he isn't quite that crazy yet. They're in the honeymoon phase of their relationship - they'll get there, don't worry!

PLAYING: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus

Great Series! So sad it's died out (come on Sony). But I'm excited to share it with my children!

I rented this game back when it was the only Sly available. I enjoyed its gentle and not so gentle nods to Metal Gear Solid. I hated the cocky main character (American white men were really into cocky protagonists in the 80s, 90s, and 00s). But the game was good. Later when the HD remake for PS3 was released, I grabbed the whole trilogy and thoroughly enjoyed it! Sly 2 is my favorite though.

I was excited to play Jak and Daxter for my kids. I downloaded the free PC remake that some folks had created. But it's annoying to set up my laptop with my TV. Knowing that I had the Jak Trilogy for PS3, I decided to see if my PS3 and controllers even still worked. they did! But while having lunch, I put on a Sly Cooper playthrough on YouTube and my kids were HOOKED! I offered to play it for them and they were super excited. I guess Jak can wait!

What I remember from the first Sly Cooper is that it's the hardest and most linear. But when I started playing it this time, it felt so great. It's truly a great game and well thought-out and designed. There's some cheap deaths, and the bosses are too hard--but it's really fun otherwise.

Sly Cooper is a great example of Sony's ability to develop unique, original games with great production value. I think for PS2, Sony had three big platformer series: Jak, Ratchet and Clank, and Sly Cooper. What was great about these three is that they were accessible, well produced, charming, and all very unique from each other. Jak 2 & 3 had a little crossover with ratchet due to guns being introduced, but Jak was a action platformer-slash-open world, while Ratchet was much more of a level-based shooter. Sly stood out as a platforming stealth game. It's weird to think a whole game could be built around stealth, but be action-packed and accessible.

Graphically, the game looks pretty good due to the art style. Much of the 2D images (loading screens and cinematics) feature jagged, hand-drawn art. It looks extremely stylized, but then it meshes well with the blocky graphics. So instead of seeing low polygon counts as a limitation, it was asset to the art style. Clever.

This game develop had made a platformer before, but I don't think it was to this scale. They've nailed it. I was paying attention to the level design. For the most part, they take smallish, cramped spaces (such as a single room in a casino) but craft out a level path that criss-crosses across the space to create a decent level experience. One level has Sly scaling the sides of buildings and cat walks and bouncing off AC units. It feels like the level goes on, and on (in a good way) but it's really just a circle, and sly is traveling along the inner edge. This allowed the designers/artists to use a small set of background assets to create an immersive experience. As a game designer, I appreciate this type of design. It makes the level feel open, big, and like a real space, while preventing the player from getting lost.

I like the first bit of levels, the constant rain makes it very moody. The second set takes plays in a Vegas like city. I'm always less thrilled about this one. Rocky deserts just don't excite me much, and it's less atmospheric. I think the level takes place in the day, which feels less sneaky. Still, some good, clever level design.

I love how enemies have flashlights and are on guard paths. It really plays into the sneaking around. Unfortunately, Sly is often defeated in a single hit. It helps create a sense of danger and real consquence for not being sneaky--but it makes a wrong move very punishing. Also, Sly can't swim. So there's a lot of cheap deaths associated with Sly not landing a jump he should have and drowning as a result. Luckily I've unlocked the "water safety" skill that no longer damages Sly for falling in water. Goood thing because the swamp level is filled with precarious jumps!

Somewhat interesting from a story point, every bully gets a background. What I noticed about the bosses (did I say bully?) is that they were often bullied as a child or are overcompensating for something. I wish the game could have taken on a more "healing" approach to the villains, where they deal with their psychology issues and make amends. But Sly ain't got time for that. He's too busy being cocky.

I'm having fun replaying this for my kids. At one point they lost interest and went to their rooms. I got sad. I wanted to keep playing, but I didn't want to leave them behind. Hopefully they'll want to come back to this.

You needed a quiet place to study today. Every other cafe was filled with others studying and full. Or they had chatty middle aged women that even noise cancelling head phones couldn’t block out.

You spotted the black and pink cafe doors across the street and decided to give it a chance. It looked pretty empty. As you walked in the smell of coffee relaxed you immediately as you placed your study materials on a table and headed to the register.

Doll greeted you a smile and nipples poking through her frilly apron. You could see cock cleaning some cups but his eyes were glued to the owner’s chest.

“An iced coffee and a muffin please” you asked. You automatically order and don’t even think.

“I’m out of muffins today sweetie! How about something new?”

You looked into the case. They all looked mouthwatering but your eyes stopped when it saw the juicy peach peachie delight . With two huge pieces of peach. It honestly kind looked like a nice big juicy derrière.

You return to the table and take out your accounting and stats book. Cock is already bringing over your peach treat while doll still works on your coffee.

What are some characters you wished interacted more in Adventure/02? I always wanted to see more Joe/taichi (because wow they both have some shit regarding responsibility) and sora/koushiro! Also in 02 I wanted more sibling moments between the Yagami and Ishida/Takeshi siblings :’)

TL;DR: Sora/Kou, Joe/Taichi, Mimi/Yamato, the siblings but with maybe some closure to the Yagamis on some level if that makes sense at all

I feel like Sora and Koushirou were the two characters who believed in Taichi the most and really stuck by him, and supposedly knew each other before the digital world, but it’s honestly hard to recall any scenes where they acted incredibly close to each other? I know she defended him when Taichi was teasing Koushirou and trying to whack his computer and they also shared their opinions on Taichi during the Skullgreymon issue. There might be some scenes, but I’m honestly blanking. Yet I can think of specific examples for Taichi and Koushirou and Taichi and Sora off the top of my head (the gate episode for the former and Taichi saving Sora from nanomon). So maybe the series didn’t mean for them to be very close friends (I think there’s a chart and they aren’t shown with arrows between each other), but I always felt like they would mesh well together even if their main reason was just to bond over Taichi. But I think Sora has shown and would be open to just listening to Koushirou and encouraging him and I think Sora is mellow enough for Koushirou to be comfortable around. I actually kind of wish Sora and Koushirou had gone together in Adventure to look for Taichi because it seemed important to both of them, though I get narratively why they wanted everyone to split up. I kind of wish there was just more Sora, Taichi, and Koushirou being tight-knit overall and something more of an overt trio, since again they were the one’s who already knew each other more closely iirc.

I agree on the Joe and Taichi bit, too. I think there could have maybe been a few more instances where Taichi, well, relied on him and the two kind of commiserated about everything. Joe clearly had a lot of worry for the team and was willing to like risk his own life for Takeru and stay beside Mimi a few times because as her counselor he felt responsible and Taichi had a lot of baggage trying to do right by everyone all the time and wanting to be The Very Best and it felt like sometimes he could kind of feel the heaviness of it especially when Hikari came in; it just felt like they should have a late night therapy session together and there could have been some times when Taichi turned to Joe for some advice. If there was more than once I don’t really remember it right now? I know Taichi had a support pillar in Koushirou and Sora and Yamato at some point, but I honestly think it would have been nice to sprinkle in more of Joe there, and maybe have Joe even gain more confidence in his role in the team to just put his hand on Taichi’s shoulders and say, “Take a break,” but instead it always felt like he micro helped, which I guess was big, but idk Taichi should have his mom bake Joe a cake just to say he’s swell. But I also think it would be nice if Taichi could be a pillar back in kind. I don’t really remember if anyone was specifically there to support Joe back when I think about it except maybe Sora when she helped at the diner arc?? I also think this would have been nicer to explore in 02 and have Joe help herd some of the new youngsters more, but it kind of felt like by Our War Game Joe was a little more… not around? Was always kind of weird to me that the “reliable” one was never around. I know his crest in some iterations is honesty or sincerity, so maybe that’s why haha, but he did always come off as trying to be reliable, so I always fall back on that.

Also Mimi and Yamato would have been interesting to see…. interact at all?? I think in the novels he makes her cry at one point iirc and there was the scene at the graves of the fallen digimon, but I can’t recall any other impactful scenes where they straight on interact?? I feel like the scene where Sora breaks down and Yamato is pretty understanding could have also translated into some scenes with Mimi, like he could go from being annoyed by her and agitated to accepting her strengths and maybe through her find that being more emotional isn’t always a weakness, idk. I also remember Yamato once grilled a fish and so I always thought he’d end up being the cook of the group down the line so when it was Mimi in the epilogue I would kind of imagine her having him on her show for a segment, like cooking in rough conditions or something and talk about the food he eats in space idk it was a weird thing that stuck with me as a kid and it’s hard to kind of forget…

Overall with 02 I really wish there was just more of the original cast and they expanded their relationships from 01. Maybe not get rid of the new 02 cast members because I do really love them, but just integrate the original digidestined in more. I get that it’s hard to balance a large cast, though, so I get why they didn’t. I really feel like Sora, Joe, and Mimi just got forgotten about in the full narrative, though. I also would have still liked more relationship building between like the siblings as you said as well. Family was a pretty integral part of the original series in many ways and while they did seem to kind of bring it back in the ending iirc, there was a HUGE emphasis on the sibling dynamics in 01 I felt was kind of dropped by 02. Like it was even written in a prophecy?? I will admit my memory of 02 is fuzzy and due for a rewatch but I recall Hikari getting something of a developing episode re: her attachment to Taichi or some comparison she was making towards him about herself that I don’t remember, but I’m pretty sure he like… had no part in it really? I think even the dub just was like, “Let’s not even write in that issue.” I could be wrong on that, though. It just felt like Taichi was more distant than he had been at the end of 01 and maybe that’s just age and he grew up, but I still feel like it needed a resolution and he could have either had residual fears or at least have a “letting go” episode maybe so they could both grow together or something for the audience to bare. I felt like if anything Taichi and Hikari’s arc should have ended with him trusting her more and I guess he kind of does since he leaves the fighting to the new kids on the block but it was more like… he gave the responsibility to Daisuke (not a bad choice, this is nothing about Daisuke ofc). It just would have been more full circle imho if he maybe gave Hikari the goggles or something— like she didn’t have to be the leader I guess but it would have been kind of symbolic of him seeing her as strong finally and acknowledging her, you know? That’s probably a different road entirely haha Hikari and Taichi just had a really sweet bond in 01 so I remember it being a little jarring when I watched 02. I can’t remember much about Takeru and Yamato together either so :(

I think they balanced a lot of relationships and backstories and a huge complicated plot pretty well in general just overall and they made the characters so goood but I guess that’s on my essay on some of the things I would change re: their relationships i’msosorry

Jin was pretty scary in this one wasn’t he? To me, what he said is more of an empty threat the last thing he wants to do is hurt the mc. But, if she try's escaping so often maybe he will bust her kneecaps, break her legs, or cut her Achilles tendon. I think what partially makes him so scary in this one is that he is a doctor.

That was so good??? Im adding it to my playlist. His voice has such a unique color that you often dont find in soloists. Normally soloists have the honey vocals with insane range and high notes. And people with unique vocals are usually in a group and have some impactful part in the group to showcase their color.

Having a whole ass dude with such a unique vocal color is insane. Also the fact that he has such a wide range too? I wasn’t ready for him to hit notes that high but WOW he did??? And he still maintained his normal vocal tone??? GASP

The scenes were so well done too??? they r so simple but soo sooo good?? This is a prime example of well thought out MV scenes being superior to very expensive aesthetic MV scenes.

We don’t get a lot of information on countries besides Fodlan which in fiction works since Fodlan is so xenophobic, but I can’t help my curiosity. We get nothing on Albinea and Dagda, and even the one’s get get the most info on like Almyra and Brigid, its still barely anything. One day I’ll write something about how JRPGs have a rave problem but that’s not today. Dedue’s story is all about Dimitri’s pain, and like what about Dedue’s pain? And I love Petra but that speech pattern isn’t like any second/third language english speaker I’ve ever met. I’ve been hoping for years for a fantasy setting that isn’t anachronism Japan or vaguely Europe. And a country that is based on Turkic and Persian culture?? sign me up! I want to know more about Almyra!

I saw a post on how Edelgard is a reactionary and I don’t agree with the post but they do have some good points and its made me think about the relationships between past present and future among the three routes.

Each route is a differnt take, a different story. Tackling the same themes from different perspective and together they weave together something more

I think edelgard was doomed from the start. She's running a puppet state for Agartha while tryibg to maintain actual power. She's fighting a war on two fronts. Her strategry is to throw lives at somethibg until it breaks. And she's so like... one track minded that she can't see beyond her own expectations. CF is goood but feels a little incomplete. Her goal is pretty good its just how she tries to get there is real yikesI have conflicting feeling for her. And kill/spare Claude in Cf... its like he took a risk to further his dream and it blew up. Friends and allies dead, lost reputation in almyra, its a big set back for him And then on a personal level you get hints of how devestated he is, the moment he's spared the mask snaps right back into place The one thing that kinda bothers me about VW is all the alliance merchants are like yay unregulated capitalism

Claude is so much of what I have dearly wanted in a JRPG. His background and race aside, how he wants to tear down the basis for ignorance and bigotry and connect the world is rare and refreshing to see. Claude sees that we don’t have to choose between the lesser of two bad options even if the third option will have massively more amounts of work. The sheer amount of tireless effort Claude has put into fodlan is downplayed in game and overlooked outside of it. In those 5 years, Claude did not stop constantly trying to keep that precarious balance of the Alliance. Claude's precarious position and struggles during the war could have been expanded on. The Alliance was in the weakest position.

Claude has this central character conflict between idealism and cynicism that I find facinating. He's kinda jaded and bitter and has little trust in humanity. But he also believes in humanity at the same time, in the potential for people to rise above ignorance and prejudice and build a better world together. He strives for connection and open friendship, yet cannot do so himself and his methods are to ruthlessly use and manipulate. Idealism does not equal naivete.

One of the main weaknesses of VW is that the gameplay of fe3h does not well support the story VW is trying to tell of an ancient mystery, of looking beyond the immediate to get the big picture, of finding connection. Because the gameplay is centered around pitched combat, its hard to show all the important stuff that is happening outside of battles. This is especially a shame given some of VW’s some interesting parts are the political maneuvers Claude is pulling to make all of this work. A good example of this is fort merceus or shambhala where we skip the interesting stuff in favor of the battle.

Claude has built high high walls around his heart, he hides away so much of himself, he is rarely vulnerable, he distances himself from himself... He talks so lightly about his past eventhough it has so deeply affected him. Claude's character isnt as loud as Edelgard's or Dimitri's so it get's overshadowed. I mean sure his parents are alive but that doesnt mean he doesnt hurt. People seem to often mistake the persona he delibretly cultivates in part one as his whole personality. I do think think he has a playful mischievious streak but he's also... quiet. I do think his parent’s loved him but I disagree with their parenting, they thought Claude as a kid should tough up and shrug of assasination attempts, constant racism just like they do as big tough warriors.

I think pacing for gd part 1 sets up a pretty good mystery, but early part 2 is slow....

yeah I'd say that Dimitri and Edelgard's characters are much more... loud. They also open up to Byleth much more. Like even in his S support claude hasn't dropped all his walls

Claude is the most closed off of the entire cast and unlike edelgard and dimitri, he doesnt develop a codependency thing To the end he never completely opens up to you In verdant wind He still be keeping secrets eventhough he trusts byleth and believes in them whole heartedly

when discussing Claude, its important to distinguish between 2 types of trust, trust in the utility and abilities of another person, versus personal trust in another person caring and wanting the best for you personally. Claude trusts pretty much no one on a personal level until the end of Verdant Wind, and no one on a personal level in any of the other route. But he does trust in the abilities of others in that he is confidant in his evaluation of them, he is confidant that he knows what the other person is capable of and what they will do. And this comes to bite him in Crimson Flower where he can misjudge Byleth. Claude coming to trust Byleth on a personal level is an entire subplot in Verdant Wind, but in any route he trusts in their abilities. He trusts that Byleth will mediate Edelgard’s ruthless brute force tendencies, he trusts that Byleth will do the smart thing when invading Derdriu, and he trusts that Byleth will keep Edelgard from killing him. He can be wrong about that. In that way he also trusts Dimitri in that Claude thinks he can predict his actions. But he trusts none of these people personally, only that he has a grasp of their character and abilities.

Now let’s talk about the development of Claude’s trust in Byleth. Claude comes to trust in Byleth’s abilities and character quite quickly, he sees what they do and Byleth has a very straightforward guileless. So Claude begins to feel at ease that he has Byleth figured out. He can see they aren’t hiding anything and they never try to hide anything or trick him so he starts to trust them personally a bit. But Byleth also becomes increasingly suspicious and implicated with the Church. Then Rhea just hands Byleth the Sword of the Creator that Claude has been researching legends about and Byleth who is now not only suspicious but dangerous. Claude grows to trust Byleth again for the above reasons, whereas by the end of White Clouds Byleth has Claude’s trust again, both personal and impersonal. During the 5 years, Claude never stops trusting that Byleth will come back. That trust grows until it is a pillar for Claude to lean on. Claude opens up to Byleth on his fears and dreams, but he never completely let’s his walls down.

Claude also trusts in the abilities of his allies. However he doesn’t believe himself someone other people are capable of valuing on a personal level. He doesn’t calculate into his plans that Hilda will die for him because he's become so use to people not trusting him that he can't see it any other way. Even towards the end of Verdant Wind he doesn’t believe that the Golden Deer would be there for him and is surprised that they are.

Ever wonder what would happen if you killed Claude in crimson flowers? I have some thoughts and none happy. Like Edelgard is provoking war with Almyra. Almyra doesn't seem fully unified/centralized, but it is a lot bigger and Claude seems to have a decent enough relationship with his parents. its also just really sad. Like Claude misjudged one thing (Byleth mediating Edelgard's warpath tendencies and acting as her conscious), and his potential allies can get killed and he can die. Its like all his character flaws bundled in a very sad package. All the other routes do not end well for Claude. There's a tumblr post that goes into more detail. But the fall of derdriu is a major loss both politically and emotionally for claude. He ran a high risk high reward gambit against the empire and lost. Those dreams of his really start looking like pipe dreams. And he's just so devastated even when he lives and he's smiling. As soon as he's spared the mask snaps back on and he hides all his pain as usual. I say its the culmination of his charactrr flaws because, he values himself as a person so little that he can not imagine people willingly dying for him. And so he loses and potential holds and allies he could have had in fodlan (hilda, judith, etc). His prospects returning to Almyra after a defeat like that don't look too good either. Claude staked everything for his dream and it wasn't enough. its implied that claude needs to prove himself to his parents and that has something to di with him becoming king, by losing the alliance, claude has fought the last 6 years and gained nothing to show for it
