EHEHEHE personally i think she’s genderfluid and uses he/she/they pronouns…….I think he was kind of an uncracked egg up until the trials though. like, he’s been in survival mode for so long that he’s never had the time or luxury to really think about himself or his identity….i think he’s had a lot of different disguises over his career though, and those personas are either male or female depending on what the situation calls for so he’s not a stranger to dressing femininely either.

but yeah…i think for a long time hugo just identified as male by default cuz like…what else would he be LOL. if he had any doubts at all they weren’t significantly hindering him or anything so he just buried them with all the other of the emotions he doesn’t want to feel. but like the closet is made of GLASS and this becomes especially obvious when she teams up with 3 other teenagers who are also transgender so sometimes she’ll just Say Shit and they all turn around and look at her like “…….🤨”

i have this very vivid scene in my head where varian comes out to the gang as trans and hes clearly really uneasy abt it. and hugo doesn’t know what to say so he just tries to relate by saying the first thing that comes to mind and goes “oh yeah i get it i mean. sometimes i wish i was a girl but like not all the time yk” and nuru and varian both just stop and stare at him

anyways yeah….other than her traveling party giving her some weird looks nothing actually really came of these conversations bc hugo would refuse to think about herself even if you put a gun to her head

fast forward to post-trials though, and hugo’s been living in the castle with varian for about six months…it was REALLY messy for both of them while she was adjusting, but at this point shes finally started to let her guard down a little, and all of a sudden she has SO much free time and she has no idea what to do with any of it. she’s stealing collecting things, tinkering with all kinds of useless little gadgets, rapunzel is teaching her tons of little arts and crafts projects. overall shes pretty content despite everything. So anyways then the gender crisis hits them like a fucking freight train

honestly i’m like half joking when i say i think it started bc they just kept forgetting to cut their hair. like one day they looked in the mirror and they’re like “wow my hairs getting so long i kinda look like a girl lol. Wait”

AND AS FUNNY AS IT IS ITS SO. WILDLY UNFAMILIAR TO THEM. like all of a sudden theyre SO insecure for as far as they can tell, NO reason and it drives them CRAZY. i dont even think that hugo dislikes their masculine features after coming out, i think they embrace them if anything but its just like…going from 0 to 100 so fast and suddenly being so hyper aware of themselves in a way that they NEVER were before…having to realize that they’re definitely Not cis. it’s fucking TERRIFYING!!!

not to mention it hits him all at once during a time when he’s still frankly really paranoid about him and varian’s relationship, and he’s kinda walking on eggshells bc deep down he’s convinced that var’s just gonna get tired of him eventually and kick him out. its like he’s just waiting for the final nail in the coffin despite the fact that there is literally no coffin.

All that being said i think it takes him a while to work up the courage to talk to varian about it. and he knows he won’t like. hate him for being trans or anything (I sure hope he wouldn’t, at least, seeing as he is literally also trans) but varian’s already done SO much for him and helped him through literally everything already….he doesn’t want to burden him any more than he already has. he also cant comprehend that someone can just Like him, like, as a person, so he’s convinced himself that varian must see something specific in him right now and he’s afraid that if he changes himself drastically in any way then whatever varian saw in him just. won’t be there anymore. If that makes sense

as for who he actually goes to first- honestly i think it’d have to be lance. at least in my head lance was the first person hugo really started to bond with aside from varian….he didn’t start letting his guard down with rapunzel until quite a while after that. also i think he’s worried that if he tells rapunzel she’d end up accidentally spilling something to varian (which is like. Valid bc she’s a horrible liar) he’d definitely write a letter to nuru, too, but nuru is also in another kingdom, and that message takes a while to get to her, so it’s more something they talk about after the fact

when he finally does get a letter back after dumping this revelation on her it’s just like

“dearest hugo. upon reading your letter i desperately wanted to tell you that i told you so, but i realize that would be in poor taste, seeing as you are clearly struggling right now. Moreover,-“ /j

regardless of who she tells first, they obviously all support her and encourage her to talk to varian as well…And ofc varian hypes her up to no end when she finally does. i wanna say it’s a sweet emotional scene but i feel like varian was also under the assumption that she figured out the gender thing like a year ago /j

varian: . yeah?

jokes aside though as soon as hugo does decide he wants to explore his presentation more varian immediately consults rapunzel who gets WAY too excited about it and it kind of scares hugo a little bit. /j like Do you want to cut your hair? Dye it? Do you want new piercings? TATTOOS????

they eventually just settle on getting her a few new pieces to add to her wardrobe and that works out fine. varian sees his girlfriend in a dress and loses his mind etc etc. All is right in the world

Bg3 is insanely fun to me so far. very early in the game but knowing ive barely started makes me excited at the prospect of more cutscenes, quests, and character interactions..!!!

i was just talking to my friend about how easy it is to REALLY project yourself into the game because of how authentic and variable the character + spatial interactions are and i was like. oh god i would not survive in this world. i think for rpgs in general i will never not be able to separate myself from the chatacters i play as just because i control them. but they will always be a separate, well established character with just a bit of me in them. it's different in bg3 because of how my personal ideologies affect the storyline and characters around me, and i think it's really interesting playing a game where your character and the world around you arent narratively static or fixed (it also helps i customized my paladin) It feels real! and this isnt new, it's just very novel to me as someone who doesnt play games like bg3, and i wonder what other games offer this immersion? my only exposure to open world rpgs are genshin and botw/totk but they cant really compare because genshin has a linear storyline and you dont really influence the characters and teyvat because the narrative is already laid out (and it also clashes against the game's open world mechanic which makes the world feel, at least to me, very synthetic). botw is more of an exploration game since its whole point is testing the limits of open world. so it's not super story driven imo, not to say it doesnt have a solid story. but i love these games dearly, and bg3 offers a really satisfying and fulfilling extension to what i truly want in an rpg

but anyway that was just a tangent but basically i told my friend how my paladin pangy is kind of.. stupid. *I* am stupid. HAHAHA i happen to fall for a lot of schemes and am easily deceived. astarion killed me because i didnt shove him away after letting him bite me, afraid he might die of malnourishment. got pickpocketed by a kid (and my character ironically failed the perception check TWICE. i had no idea what was going on until my friend in call told me j just got robbed). believed the fake sobstory of the paladins who attacked karlach and had to reload my save slot so i had the upperhand. i have 0 survival instincts...it's almost ridiculous but also incredibly funny. it made me realize that this is a game worth taking seriously (and that im just. really clueless 🧍‍♂️). but the experience is fun, and i like how the stakes are high (for the most part). i have Got to get my shit together i cant get jumped like this all the time

#im also insanely sexless and rizzless #i dont pick up on romantic cues at all bro and this one i can see Why #because i have trouble picking up on some conventional social cues irl 🧍‍♂️#it's just the touch of the tism...#but anyway i accidentally rizzed up karlach and i didnt know telling her “we should deal with that engine of yours” after she offered sex #was like.. a confirmation. i thought it was a NEUTRAL response #my friend told me that the chances of me wooing other characters are slim because my romance route is fixed on karlach #or more like theres no guarantee i can romance others if ive progressed too far with karlach #and it had me kinda deflated because i was somewhat set on shadowheart. so i just went back 3 hours of gameplay back to the save slot #where i encountered the first romance scene w karlach to explicitly turn her down #have to redo all my progress since then but i just took the L if it means it saves my chances with shadowheart🫡

How to Make Rendog in DnD

I’ll go level by level and explain the reasoning behind my decisions and how I think it fits them in character. This build assumes starting at level 8 but includes notes on differences if you start at level 1 and progress to 8. This is not intended as a guide on how to play dnd, just how to build this character. I also don't explain every feature, but I may briefly touch on it and explain my reasoning for taking it.

Class: Barbarian 5 (Path of the Beast)/Bard 3 (College of Swords)

Race: Shifter (closest to an official dog race in 5e)

Base Ability Scores:

Str 15 (+2) + 1 from race = 16 (+3)

Dex 10 (+0)

Con 14 (+2) +2 from race = 16 (+3)

Int 8 (-1)

Wis 10 (+0)

Cha 14 (+2)

Background: Folk Hero

Ren is a strong player with a good track record when it comes to pvp in the life series. What he lacks in game knowledge he makes up for with pure charisma, being able to swing many people to his side (renpire, shadow alliance). Depending on how you look at it, he really is a hero to some (especially martyn) and knows how to make a good show.

Before we get into the class features, here’s the race and background ones.

Shifter:

Bestial Instincts: Skill proficiency. Choose Athletics.

Darkvision 60ft.

Shifting: Become more beast-like as a bonus action and gain temp HP. Become doggier.

Shifter type: choose Swiftstride to be fast, but if you want tankiness then Beasthide is also a good option. Barbarians often struggle with movement speed which is the main reason for choosing Swiftstride.

Folk Hero Background:

Skill Proficiencies: Animal Handling, Survival

Tool Proficiencies: Any Artisan’s tools, land vehicles.

Rustic Hospitality: Common people like you and will help you.

Shifters get to choose their animal ancestry and traits, so you can choose to be a dog. Longtooth is usually the default option for dog (the other options are associated with other animals) but the feature is quite useless in this build, which is why we pick one of the other ones.

Time for class levels! At 1st lvl, we start with barbarian, which grants us:

Proficiency in Light and medium armour, shields

Proficiency in simple and martial weapons

Proficiency in Strength and Constitution saving throws.

Skill proficiencies: choose Intimidation and Perception

Rage: Core barbarian feature. Hit harder and soak more hits. Keep in mind you cant use spells while raging, which will matter after multiclassing.

Unarmored Defense: Add your Con to your AC if you have no armour. Goes well with being a bard…

The red king Ren was very vicious kind of king who goes to war leading his troops rather than hiding in the backline. Barbarian is a perfect class for Ren who is both very good at and goes unga bunga on occasion. Keep in mind both Shifting and Raging are bonus actions, so you have to use them on different turns. The temp HP gets doubled value vs weapon damage if you’re raging because of resistance, so it might be usually better to rage first but it also depends.

At 2nd lvl, we continue with barbarian and will do so up to lvl 5.

Danger Sense: Advantage on dex saves against things you can see. Very useful for avoiding traps.

Reckless Attack: Advantage on your attacks is always good to have if you don’t mind taking more hits.

These features fit Ren perfectly too since he is pretty good at surviving and avoiding traps (unless a stalactite is involved) and in combat he can go pretty wild.

At 3rd lvl, we get:

Subclass: Path of the Beast

Path of the Beast gives:

Form of the Beast: When you Rage, you get an extra bestial trait to be even more dog-like. Bite gives you healing at low hp, claw gives you an extra attack and tail gives you extra ac. All fairly useful in different situations.

Now Ren becomes even more doggy. I always envisioned Ren being more of an axe-wielding barbarian, but these are still good to have. Keep in mind you choose the trait when you rage and can’t change it until a new rage, so choose the right one for the situation (low hp? Bite for healing. Two claw attacks actually deals more damage than the axe because you add your strength mod twice. Tail is good for avoiding hits or hitting something barely out of reach.)

At 4th lvl, we get:

Ability Score Improvement OR Feat: Take the Ability Score improvement and bump your Strength up to 18 (+4).

The extra strength helps everywhere as a barbarian.

At 5th lvl, we get:

Extra Attack (more damage! Woo!)

Fast Movement: an extra 10 ft. of move speed if you aren’t wearing heavy armour which you can’t really use as a barbarian anyway.

If you took Swiftstrider at the start, you’ll now have a whopping 50 ft. of walking speed, which is pretty dang fast. You’ll be able to run across deserts in no time.

At 6th lvl, we begin multiclassing with a level in bard, which grants us:

Musical Instrument Proficiency: Choose a Horn.

Skill Proficiency: Choose Persuasion

Bardic Inspiration: Increase chances of success. Not a spell, so you can use it during rage.

Two Cantrips: Choose Message (whisper chat msgs) and Minor Illusion (fun spell)

Four 1st lvl spells: Speak with Animals, Identify, Charm Person and Color Spray.

Now we get to the more… seductive side of Ren. Ren’s a really fun person but is also known to be a little on the less PG side of things if you know what I’m saying (not to mention the fact that as a barbarian with unarmored defense… fully exposed while being beheaded). I also tried to pick spells that are more useful outside of combat since he can’t cast spells while raging.

At 7th lvl, we take a second level of Bard, which grants us:

Jack of All Trades: Half-proficiency in all ability checks is good.

Song of Rest: Listen to Ren sing Britney during a short rest and heal up extra good.

One more spell: Command (Kneel before your king!)

Jack of All Trades will make up for some of Ren’s poorer stat checks now.

At 8th lvl, we take a third level of Bard, which grants us:

Expertise in Two Skills: Choose Persuasion (man literally persuaded people to go to war) and Athletics (good in general for strength builds).

2nd lvl spells: See Invisibility (doesn’t use concentration)

Subclass: College of Swords

College of Swords grants us:

Bonus Proficiencies: Medium Armor and Scimitars. Redundant because we get that from Barbarian.

Fighting Style: Choose Dueling and use a battle axe with a shield.

Blade Flourish: Even more movement speed when you attack, and the flourish options are all useful on top of the extra damage they provide (more ac, knockback and aoe damage). The go-to would probably be Defensive Flourish to stack with your Tail. If you chose Beasthide Shifter, your AC will go even higher.

Flourishes are especially useful because they aren’t spells and they don’t take any action economy. This is a surprisingly good synergy between a barbarian and a bard multiclass, especially since you get access to a fighting style with this subclass for some extra damage consistency.

Summary:

Final Stats:

Str 18 (+4)

Dex 10 (+0)

Con 16 (+3)

Int 8 (-1)

Wis 10 (+0)

Cha 14 (+2)

Two Attacks

Battle axe attack: +4 (str) +3 (prof. bonus) = +7 to hit, 1d8 + 4 + 2 (dueling) slashing dmg.

Three Bardic Inspirations

Cantrips: Message, Minor Illusion

1st lvl spells: Speak with Animals, Identify, Color Spray, Charm Person, Command

2nd lvl spells: See Invisibility

In summary, lots of combat power (as is fitting for the Red King himself) and a decent amount of Bard utility. A similar build to Scar’s, though more towards the combat end of the spectrum.

And that’s it for Ren! I think I managed to capture a bit of his savagery but also his fun and charming side into this build. He’s built for combat but he’s also quite good in social situations and he’s gonna be a tough nut to crack!

makes it seem more believable tbh bc if it was not real it wouldn't have been going on for so long

IM SO SCARED 😭 genuinely cried when my friend was telling me ab this and she also said thwt we'll get to know ab when the solar storm is going to hit about 30 minutes before AND NOW IM PARANOID BC IT CAN HIT ANY MOMENT NOOOOO

and to top this off my mother told me that not many ppl will survive till 2027 i have no idea where she got that from but she scared me even more

i’m sorry you’re experiencing anxiety regarding it :””( yeahh ive heard that solar flares are near impossible to predict in advance for a lot of reasons, so that can definitely heighten the fear

hm idk if it makes you feel better but i remember nasa n other news outlets were talking about solar storms the exact same way about a year ago (i just remember telling my dad ab it cuz he works in aerospace n figured his company might’ve been discussing it) but nothing happened at all within the six month period that the news had been freaking out about LOL. i panicked a lot then too n my dad said it was just fear mongering lmfaoo 💀 (he’s kind of a cynic though haha) but yea i just bring this up because it’s not the first time this sort of news has been sensationalized

following any sort of space stuff can be scary for sure n it’s super easy to get lost in article rabbit holes that can really disrupt your quality of life in the present :( but i think there have been multiple instances of space phenomena that have been hyped up in media (even by a lot of reputable news outlets) that have not really affected daily life as much as it was thought to (like the never ending cycle of news about new asteroids, the whole aliens thing, etc)

i think it’s important to remember that the scientists that are actually behind the research are completely different entities than the people writing up articles about it online, so you always have to take the news with a grain of salt or maybe try to look into accounts from the actual researchers behind the findings (who, more often than not i’ve found, don’t even panic about their own research to the level of extent a lot of media ppl do online haha)

i’m not saying i don’t believe in the possibility of a solar storm or anything like that lol i just think there’s a lot of tendency in news these days to scare tf outta people for no reason

also correct me if im wrong but the largest danger of a solar storm would be disruption of radio & internet frequencies right? i thought they werent actually powerful enough to cause any sort of biological radiation harm ;0 loss of internet access would definitely be a weird thing to see and could put stress on more developed countries, but a lot of the world doesnt even have internet access to begin with so i’m not sure how much it will actually affect livelihood (i’m aware that it’d affect a LOT of things for sure, but i’m talking ab dangers like life or death situations, n i just cant imagine that being the case? but if you’ve looked into that more than i have n have more to share then lemme know i’m really curious)

sorry, im just bringing this all up in hopes it helps w your fears, n not to invalidate them! bc i totally get it, it’s scary stuff esp when it’s stuff you feel like you have no control over. but there’s a lot of things in life we have no control over, i think it’s best to just focus on what we can control n just try to enjoy today :)

*Deep breathe* Do i ever!!!!!!

I actually have an unneccessarily long post in my drafts i am typing out talking about Kuron, (Kuron babygirl please get help😭😭), but the entire thing can boiled down to this- Kuron is someone who desperately wants even needs a semblence of control in his life. Like the entire possession by Haggar and than merging with Shiro? Finding out you are a clone created to replace this guy to destroy the team inside out and be a weapon? Everything you used to think about yourself was a straight up lie? That a recipe of a whole bunch of issues baby!

This man has lost any and every form of agency since the moment he was created. He isnt even sure that he can trust himself or his memories anymore because how can you when you are literally created to be someone else? He doubts every thought he has, every first instinct, every want, because he is never sure if that is him being himself or him being Shiro/controlled by Haggar.

What he is sure about is how angry, hurt, and betrayed he feels by his friends. He is especially hates Keith (who effectively killed him and is the one putting the most emphasis on him being Shiro), Allura (who put Shiro in his body), and Shiro (literally face of like so much of his trauma, the entire "evil clone who replaced me" shit he talks about while in HIS body, and just being merged and locked in his mind was just not a great experience, 0/10 will not recommend) (he also hates Haggar so much, he will throw hands). And this anger is pretty much a crutch to him, because it is the one thing that kept him from fully merging, and is pretty much an assertion of his identity.

He has this weird complicated feeling about Lance, cause well Lance is the one who saved him and he is very grateful for that, but also he has been nursing that hurt for a really long time and just has a really hard time letting it go and he just doesnt trust Lance, he wants to but he really cant. The problems between these two can be solved with few honest conversations because both parties are more willing to listen to each other, but problem is Lance is kinda in a coma and Losing it which is a major L.

He is also trying to find what to do and who he is. He did not expect to survive or get out or get his own body but now that he is out he just doesnt know what to do with this second chance. He's going through motions, trying out new things, anything and everything that just gives him a purpose or something, anything

He wants nothing to do with Shiro, so anything resembling Shiro has to go. He is getting tattoos, piercings, changing his whole aesthetic. Space? Cosmos? The fuck is that? He is Not Interested, no matter how cool as fuck it is, no sir, absolutely Not/sarc. He is doing things Shiro would hate which consequently he also lowkey hates but says he likes it through gritted teeth. These things range from reading classic Lit to getting into bar fights at 3am and it is just "Really! It Is So Fun!!! Shiro is a Massive Wuss and a Little Bitch for Missing Out while i am cool as fuck 😎😎😎😎😎😰- i mean 😎😎😎😎😎😎. Love having individuality and making my own choices under my own violation that have nothing to do with Takashi Shirogane, a guy whom i absolutely Do Not Care about and has Nothing to Do with This or Me" (dont tell him that by doing things against what Shiro would have done he is still letting him influence his decisions, he has to figure that out himself)

So to summerize- Kuron my guy is having a midlife crisis, an identity crisis, a what to do with your life crisis, a teenage rebellion phase all at the same time, which is a real Bruh moment of him.

lays down. honestly the fight was okay n i liekd the music (nyx always make bangers man???) but i don't really have much. xgaster fears making mistakes and the uncertainty of it all, whatever his grand plan is. he still keeps his favorite people close however, xfrisk, xchara, cross, xpapyrus, and ink. i do think gaster and fatal were working somewhat together, tbh that scene is working too fast for my brain to handle and really read in depth, but also. its kinda irrelevant to me but ill analyze it later like i always do.

the thing with cross tho. thats what gets me. i know that xgaster hadnt intended to kill cross, but the opportunity seemed to present itself in that moment. destroying cross would stop gaster and/or fatal and would allow cross to return to his 'owner' xgaster.

but theres also the uncertainty. that that was the end of cross- and yet; ink never lost that. they were SO certain xgaster would bring cross back, so sure cross would wake up with xg again... (lays down. try not to cry. cry a lot.) its not ideal, but xg wanted him back, and by any means hell have it.

the last bit of thought i have is the... "dont be stupid." i cant read that as condescending or anything, its simply a warning to ink, and it doesnt make it right how he says it, but it just. "ink. dont be stupid." he referred to them by name. he knows that ink is starting to go against him and yet... he doesnt want ink to.

"dont be stupid." it ironically makes me rlly happy. maybe im reading too much into it but.

his last stance. his last reminder. he doesnt want to loose ink, but if ink is 'stupid', he *will* shove them away. ink needs to save xgaster. that is what is important. im so sure of it. yes the multiverse and everything is at stake but. the core of it *all* is xgaster. and if xgaster isnt stopped, by ink themself, by frisk n xchara... im so sure of there ability ot help xg. im so sure that ink will put aside everything to help their friend.

okay the real last bit i have; and its related to cross and chara. i feel like this might lead to some sort of apology between chara and cross and that makes me want to yell with happiness !!!,,, they shared a soul, they shared a scar,,, i wonder if chara and cross ever shared thoughts or feelings like they did with xgaster's soul half. "its a painful and lonely past." they both suffered. they both survive... i think cross misses chara.. just a little.

idk, the way he looks tonthe side, like... hes not proud of using chara for world hopping, but chara used him too. they werent healthy but they were together,, chara owes him an apology, just as much as cross does too.

1st I'm very glad that my messages make you happy there's a lot of care into them AND your writing makes ME very happy so, feels like a fair trade.

4th IT WAS LOUIS' HATER ERA BUT I LOVE IT SOOOOO MUCH. I love him throughout the whole fic tbh, I think sometimes authors when writing ""enemies"" to lovers (i mean are they really enemies if Harry was in love with him FOR MONTHS 💀) either make the first conflict too harsh or then make characters' reaction not proportionate at all with the event itself but I think that Louis' behavior in yours was so credible, I really really loved dtl.

5th I WANT TO GO. I live in europe sooo I thought I had already gotten over my "I wanna live in the USA when I grow up 😍" era, but reading your descriptions of Cleveland made me want to AT LEAST go there to visit it.

6th OK SO. I HAVE STARTED THE INNINGS. IN FACT, I'VE READ ALMOST ALL OF THEM. I think the next one is the tenth. I'm trying to save them because I usually read really fast (I read write this down in like... two days........) but I've been struggling with finding new fics (if you have any recommendations plz do tell) and I'm not ready to finish the innings because then I won't have any ""new dtl content" for when I'm really struggling with finding something to read before bed. so. yeah. who knows. in a month I've read 10 innings so it probably won't last much longer ahahah BUT I'M LOVING IT SO SO MUCH. I could probably give you a review on each of the innings and explain why I loved every single one of them but I reckon that would make a too long of tumblr ask so... I won't ❤️ but I will say that I LOVE HARRY SO MUCH. like I love dtl louis in the sense of: I would love to be his friend, I would love to hang out with him. HARRY THOUGH??? BUT IT SHOULD. It would've been helpful. hello again!

i've been able to dm sideblogs in the past/people have been able to dm mine, but maybe that changed, weird and sad lmao oh well :')

pete's hair is indeed streaky in some art! they're trauma streaks, pete got caught by hunters (shifting phases' premise), and he survived and escaped with the help of his friends, but not before having his whole life destroyed :)

pre trauma, pete's hair is solid auburn and kept short, he still has the jaw scar

post trauma, he's covered in scars and his hair is streaky, it also grows out because he cant cut it and wont let anyone cut it because he has big issues about the sight of blades and their proximity to him :) (in terms of scars, 95% (i say that coz i havent written out the Torture yet so i might do some fun unexpected unforseeable things ehe) of the ones that are relevant to bust-shots are already mapped out on the ref sheet :) )

and! indeed he has lil teefs! they're not big or long or anything, but they're definitely there and definitely pointier and sharper than a human's canines :) i drew them a few months back, im a stranger to teeth so everything may look right on the surface, but there may be technical issues 8) his teeth appear normal aside from the canines, and then he's got those standard, surprisingly pointy human pre(?)molars, but the canines just make em look extra sharp lmao

oh! and claws, pete has claws, i have 0 idea if you or i mentioned, or if it's on his profile (i cant save an ask as a draft unfortunately and i cant open tabs on the mobile so im really living ip to my name lmao), but he has claws! they are very fun :) they look and grow like regular human nails except that they're very much in the shape of sharp claws with a sharp edge. what he used to do, again, when he could stand the sight of blades was, very literally carve them into the shape of human nails. he can't do that after his trauma :)))))

(Minor Octonauts ring of fire spoilers) I gots 24 asks here~

Whelp, ya caught me. That’s something that doesn’t make sense and I cant make it make sense.

Nobody, including Tweak, have the knowledge or the recourses to make/get him and Peso a cooling suit. They both absolutely would die out in the warm pacific ocean. But because there’s simply no other way I can see it working, I’m just going to have to go by the shows terrible logic.

He’s a fully grown healthy male polar bear, with long fur, thick blubber and warm clothes. Yet he somehow just lives in the warm pacific ocean with his crew with no issues. Same thing with Peso. They just survive out there without a care in the world and no one questions it.

The only defense I have to make it kiiiinda make sense.. is that the Captain and Peso get pretty hot really fast. And the both of them don’t really spend much time up on the deck when it gets hot. Also the ship sails in cooler waters and avoids warmer areas. But that’s all I got. It just makes no sense and there’s not really anything I can do. ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌

Oh, and in my AU, the branch of government that the Octopod must be attached to, provided Peso and Barnacles with their suits.

He knew that Tweak’s weird behavior was caused by her seeing something scary in the wreckage. He asked her what she saw and if she was alright when they got back, but she didn’t want to talk about it. So he never brought it up after that.. He just watched on in worry knowing that there wasn’t much he could do to help.

As for the Captain, he never told anyone about what happened and nobody was with him when he met the whale. Kwazii did ask him what was up but the Captain wasn’t up for talking about what happened out there. So he gave him space and thought it best to not push the subject.

All in all there wasn't much Kwazii felt like he could do without being pushy, so he just kept an eye on them in worry.

For now his design does not include that. (Because I completely forgot about that episode) But now that I think about it he probably would have some kind of discoloration in some of his tentacles at least.

Unless maybe.. maybe he wasn’t crushed? Just trapped? Logically he would have at least been a little more freaked out in the show if he was in pain. Kwazii’s tail was crushed 100%, but Inkling?... Maybe he doesn't have any scarring. 🤔

I like the Spider Crab episode from season 1.

I also like the cone snail episode and the manatee episode, although I cant remember what season they’re from..

Also, although the cone snail episode is one of my favorites due to the drama and the angst. As far as I'm concerned, this episode did not happen and is not cannon to any of my AUs X’D

Favorite Octonauts movie? Octonauts & the Caves of Sac Actun. 100%, Although Octonauts & the Ring of Tire is a very close second.

Favorite movie in general? Its a tie between cars 1 and 3.

My favorite special episode is the Vegimal Christmas one. Because I like the Vegimals.

I feel like classic Kwazii would get along well with the pirates, they’re just his kind’a people you know?

The rest of the classic crew however would be freaking out about the existence of other versions of themselves. Core belies and values would be brought into question for sure, it would be straight chaos!

As for the pirates, I bet they’d accept pretty quickly that there’s just other versions of themselves and they’d be more interested in learning about this world than freaking out.

Am I the only one whose bothered by the fact that Tweak and her dad are GREEN?? IT LITERALLY MAKES NO SENSE-

I haven’t really thought much about this, so my answers are pretty crummy and vague.. But I’m guessing its something like this..

Captain Barnacles could’ve been in the navy in some way.

Kwazii was a Pirate. (duh)

Peso could’ve been working at a health care facility of some sort as a medic or something.

Dashi could have been a photographer, but her probable degree in computer science is what got her on the Octopod.

Shellington could have been a marine biologist that was in a stationary lab on land, but was later offered to work on the Octopod. Which he accepted.

Tweak could have been an engineer of some kind. Maybe she specialized in something that made her a good candidate to work on the Octopod?

Inkling was probably a professor. :/

That movie was a whole anxiety attack and a half

He has those kinds of big hugs that become what ever you need them to be in the moment.

Like, if you’re sad? Suddenly his hugs feel like they’re “its gonna be okay” hugs.

Of course! And as someone who has been in quarantine since almost February, this was a little too real XD

Lucifer:

Oh? There's a quarantine? Time to be productive!

He goes full mother mode and starts cleaning the whole house while also making the brothers clean their rooms and help him up.

He doesn't use the "does this spark joy?" Methods, nah, he uses the "if it's on the ground it's getting thrown out"

That's how Levi almost lost one of figurines. Poor boy dove on the floor to save it a still has the scrap

Besides cleaning, Lucifer also spent most of his time doing the paperwork he would usually do at night.

This man went in strong and finished all the paperwork in 2 weeks and so...he was forced to spend time with his brothers.

Worst/best months of his life. He has never been so close with his brothers...and he absolutely hates it-

On the bright side, he has discovered new ways to punish his brothers in different, inventive ways. (RIP Mammon)

While some may think he would be from the ones that have the hardest time, he actually suffered from it the first few weeks and then he just...grew uses to it?

Tho, Lucifer did give him a hard time with his room. Was his floor always this color? Or did it change when you mopped it?

After that he offered to help clean the others room just so he could snatch any loose change they had.

Tho, the part that most bothered him of being quarantined was not being able to go out and go to casinos or get to his usual schemes

But then, he found a couple of online games that fueled his addiction to gamble

This boy didn't even know there was a quarantine the whole time.

He thought it was weird how everyone was always home all of a sudden but he had many events, games, animes and mangas to care for to ask his brothers why they were at the house all the time.

This whole thing did make him grow closer to his brothers tho. Since, he is basically the king of isolation (Elsa who? Nah, Levi) all the others kept constantly bugging him and asking him for recommendations of games and even shows to watch.

He has like 70 new records on his games and didn't even bat an eye when Lucifer told him they would be taking online classes. His response was just “Nice, less people!”

Which got a whine out of Asmo who is so touch starved

The day Lucifer announced the quarantine was over everyone was happy except for Levi who just ???

“There was a quarantine going on?”

“You are a useless otaku, you know that-”

This man went into quarantine with a whole ass library worth of unread books and he came out being able to recite them like old poetry, learned 6 languages (without including morse code), is basically a chef at this point, has a whole ass youtube channel to debunking stupid theories he saw on the internet and knows how to play violin, piano, and the flute.

He wasted zero seconds being stuck in that house. He used them all to gain knowledge.

He even started to read some mangas from levi just because he had read ALL of his books at least twice and he wouldnt be getting any new because he couldn't leave to go to the library.

Tho, his and Lucifer’s relationship got better...and worse at the same time.

The two spent so much time stranded with one another they are physically sick of seeing the others face. Satan literally put a spell on Lucifer so that he wouldn't be able to see him for a whole day. He was grounded an entire month.

Being grounded from the stuff he liked to do ended up making him have to play along with his brothers ideas. Which only gave Lucifer more headache. Satan 1 - Lucifer 0.

Besides! It was Lucifer’s fault for buying a month worth of groceries knowing Beel would be around. They didn't last an hour.

On the other hand, has actually been working out quite a lot.

And! Boy even managed to convince Levi to work out with him as well!

Granted, Leviathan didn't make it 10 minutes in, but it was fun for Beel to instruct his brother! : D

Beel actually would be one of the less that suffered during the whole time. Yes he missed going out and tasting new restaurants. But he loves his family and enjoys spending time with them quite a bit!

Belphegor:

He literally slept trough the whole thing.

The day it started he looked at Lucifer and went “Welp, i’m going to hibernate. Wake me up when its over.”

Lucifer only rolled his eyes...but almost a week later he realized that Belphegor was being serious about not waking up at all-

So, Beel was instructed to wake him up.

He was in a bad mood for being woken up, and groggy the rest of the day. But after that, he started to spend a lot of time with both Asmodeus and Leviathan playing games.

He even managed to win against Levi once!

Also, Belphegor spent the whole time procrastinating on doing any chores Lucifer gave him. Clean his room? Good luck waking him up. Do the laundry? Awe, too bad Beel ate the detergent. Help Satan on the kitchen? He almost burned Mammon in the process because he feel asleep watching over boiling water.

During this whole thing I can see my Mc, Amaria,driving Satan crazy! She wouldn't leave his side at all XD. She would also be constantly helping Mammon, Belphie, and Satan on their pranks on Lucifer

Same anon who just asked about jekyll turning into a vampire during college, so you mentioned there may have been a vampire with the maggot dog. What if said vampire is starving they had just attempted to drink from the dog but I doubt the dog had any good blood left so then Henry passes by gets attacked but the vampire in their hunger turns him, proceeds to run away leaving Henry in pain. Henry then in his first hunger for blood ends up killing some people, when he finally comes back to himself he's so so guilty but he's also just as scared of being captured. So in his guilt he makes HJ7 trying to cure himself of vampirism and trying to get rid of everything he hates about himself at the same time. Also would jasper know that jekylls a vampire? Or would the mint smell that seems to follow jekyll make jasper not notice? Maybe jekyll uses mint as something to hide his vampirism? Along with his other potions he uses for it. On a fluffier note bat like jekyll my beloved I can now imagine Henry hanging upside down somewhere sleeping not as a bat only for a lodger to come across him and scream as one does when they see their boss hanging on the ceiling. Jekyll wakes up falls down and just starts to hiss before realizing the situation. Also maybe jekyll would only appear in maijabis mirrors? Or! Jekyll being invited to some fancy ball but just waiting outside awkwardly because they never gave him permission to come inside. Anyway I'm done now this ask is too long srry I'll be marking it off just in case I get more ideas to share if you don't mind -💉

Yeah!! That's pretty similar to what I was thinking actually! It's late, theres no one around, and this vampire is hungry. So they decide to eat the closest flesh around, being a maggot infested days old mutt. But it only serves to make the vampire hungrier. The scrawny weak human, who has a clear smell of exhaustion, but such fresh, warm blood, such a fast heart. He's an obvious target, and he doesn't stand a chance. But miraculously, he survives the attack, at least, long enough for the vampirism to completely run through him

Hmm I dont think he'd make HJ7 actually, this is what, a whole decade before the events of tgs? And with Jekyll only making Hyde eh, 2 years prior to canon? Considering current and the book, I really dont think a young vampiric Jekyll could survive so long with a Hyde, not to mention not having the supplies or money for ingredients. BUT! I think itd be a great extra reason for Jekyll to want to make Hj7 when he does. I mean think about it, Jekyll wants to get rid if his evil, and his vampirism is no doubt apart of himself he considers evil. I mean, in college he killed and ate like 5 fellow students/teachers after his initial turn, so he lives knowing he's killed, that he got away with it, that he could easily, and probably even has killed more people after that, and to live with that for so long, to know he's killed and that he's a "monster" and that hes kept it a secret the whole time. It would certainly strengthen his depression, and his desire to split the soul, to be perfectly good, there's no cure to vampirism once you "die" with it, so all he can do is find a way to suppress it, to hide it

Oh Jekyll most certainly hides the smell of being a vampire with peppermint! More so when Jasper enters the party. But considering Jasper is observant, I think itd be fun to still figure out somehow. Because then for the very first time Jekyll can have someone know about his vampirism. Not only that, but someone who supports him, who tells him he's not a bad person and that he's not a monster. Someone who helps him, and they can even be supernatural buddies <3 with lil bat Jekyll hanging out (hehe) with wolf form Jasper. Oh! Them running through the woods or something with their supernatural speed or whatever and just having a fun time. With Jekyll probably being happy about something related to him being a vampire for the first time-

Ha, I bet Jekyll figured out he can show up in mirrors as long as they have dont silver backing. And making sure the society doesn't include any silver mirrors, or silver anything, he gets away with this quite easily as the lodgers adore supernatural creatures. What if Maijabi's mirrors showed his Vampire features while he had them hidden with alchemy or whatever though :0 we really know nothing about how those mirrors work other than that the invisible mice are visible in it. As I cant remember if Jekyll ever shows up in Maijabi's mirrors in canon or not. But I think thatd be fun. And the room is so filled with fog and "souls" with the hidden mirrors being low enough away from Jekyll's face that they simply never notice that Jekyll's reflection has bat features

Bsksnsks oh no XD. Luckily most banquets, from what I can tell, always make sure to invite the individuals in. And hey do letter invitations count? Then "not being invited" would never be a problem for Henry trying to enter a party he was invited to. If not. Than London/ the party hosts can simply assume Dr. Jekyll was reasonably angered about not being greeted inside, and chose to ignore the party for this Horrible Slight Against Him. (In reality he acts more like a kicked puppy) And they never even consider Jekyll being a vampire because "Hey! Not greeting a guest is rude, and Jekyll had every right to leave 😤"

Aches and Pains by Badwolf36 Rating: G Category: Gen ~2700 words Summary: In which Izuku isn't willing to admit how much pain he's in, and Mr. Aizawa is just as much of a softie for his students as he always is. I’m always SO WEAK to stories that deal with the very real consequences of breaking all of your bones. Poor Izuku. I enjoyed the details of how he’s feeling, the way that the reader’s awareness of his pain waxes and wanes along with Izuku’s (temporary distractions can only do so much, A+ for realism there). Also, soft Dadzawa while not mushy-ooc-Aizawa! Conclusion: I love this and also want Aizawa to make me hot cocoa when there’s storms and i cant sleep!! The slow malnourishment of All Might’s body, like his power was being siphoned away. “You’re …” Aizawa begins.“I’m All Might’s successor.” Midoriya’s proud but shaky voice rings clearly down the empty corridor. Aizawa finds out about One for All. Awwwwwwww yiiiiiiiissssssssss!!!!! reveal fic!!!! one of my all time fav tropes!!! Plus it expounds on some future theorys/possibilities(Spoilers!!!) and you get some great interactions between Izuku and Shinsou, and plenty of opportunities taken to wear out our already worn out catepillar-sensei. poor guy needs a break but would do anything for these kids. Incredible characterization, great feels!!

He doesn’t trust any adult. He thinks the whole world hates him. He apologizes for everything except breaking the law, and I’m sure I can trace every single one of those things back to his Quirklessness. You call that irrelevant?” Aizawa visits Aldera Junior High and finds out some disturbing truths. Yes. Just. Yes. Righteous anger abounds, local anxiety-child is told for the first time that his life has worth, more at 10 (I LOVE THIS ONEEE)

The Gaunlet and friendships and how memes tie the two together by averypassionateperson Rating: T Category: Gen ~3,500 words Summary: Shinsou walks into his first day in the Hero Course hoping to get politely ignored. He walks out having gotten into a sanctioned fistfight with the entire Bakusquad and a whole lot of new friendships. Also, memes are responsible for most of this. This fic is SOOOOOOOOO much fun. Always sure to bring a smile and honestly all I could want from a fic about Shinsou’s first day in 1A!!!

like light through a window by achievingelysium (tumblr: @queenangst ) Rating: T Category: Gen 1,139 words Summary: The first time Shouta sees what Hagakure looks like, it’s because she’s covered in blood. Coming from one of the best Dadzawa writers around, is a delightfully haunting fic centered on Hagakure!! The Dazawa is of course, spot on, the premise makes your heart ache as it plays out like a movie in your mind. So smooth to read, while so emotionally painful. Ouch. It is a fic with imagery that has stuck in my mind like a plant with deep roots, bc i keep thinking about it despite my too-much-fanfic-reading-adhd-muddled-brain. I feel like i had more to say but tumglr erased the paragraph i had originally written. D: �� (side note, as i am keeping these posts to 10 fics... this fic came from her series of 30 min fics which you can find here on tumblr ao3 its an absolute goldmine of one-shots, go check it out)

a frozen pond, dark and deep by walking_through_autumn Rating: T Category: Gen ~3,800 words Summary: In the aftermath of Endeavour's battle against High End, Aizawa escorts Todoroki to his home for special leave, and they have a conversation that has been long in the making. (Or: Over two car rides and the mystery known as bubble tea, Aizawa divulges information, Todoroki returns the favour, and trust is built over unexpected similarities.) This fic felt just as quiet as the two characters it surrounds, which was really nice. Even deep emotional grieving can be quiet, since everyone feels things and reacts to things differently. It was a brilliant way to chip away at these character’s walls to let light shine through without creating an earthquake event to destroy the walls completely, you know? and it works off of canon so well. ah yes seeing the process of Aizawa realizing that hes has adopted another child is my fav anyhow i enjoyed it very much!

but still my heart is heavy (with the hate of some other man’s beliefs) by honeyandsunshine Rating: T Category: Gen ~3,500 words Summary: Nemuri jerks a thumb to the side window, presumably the one with the best view of the front gates. When Shouta looks, a small crowd, all of which he can recognize from his class, are gathered around a sleazy looking man with a camera and a microphone. Half their quirks are activated. Bakugou and Todoroki are smoking. From the bushes nearby, a rather enraged stag emerges. As he gets up, Shouta just hopes they haven’t already killed him. Or:Class 1-A defends their own. Aizawa suffers, but looks after them anyways. I love how this doesn’t go the way you expect it to. and how much Aizawa loves and trusts his class full of gremlin heroes. The Dadzawa is so soft, his logic is sound, my heart aches, and i kinda want to cry. really, really, really great you guys

bend, don’t break by heyhamlet (tumblr: @hey-hamlet ) Rating: T Category: Gen ~4,100 words Summary: It started, as it always seemed to, on what was supposed to be a pleasant day. ---A Christmas shopping attempt gone wrong, Aizawa and Midoriya have to survive a strange nightmare quirk, all while trying to work out how to get out of there alive. Aizawa is injured, Midoriya is panicked. It's less a question of what could go wrong, but more what could go right. Another fic that has not left my soul since i read it. Some of it is truly terrifying in a way that I hope never haunts my own nightmares. and honestly isnt that reason enough to read it? While near death experiences bond people together well, nothing beats being trapped with someone in a nightmare that is feeding off of your deepest fears! If Aizawa wasn’t considering adoption before, he certainly is now. Found family before the monster finds you...0.o go read it, its a treat from another top notch writer!

Hi wise Kate! basically my poor little heart was tired from all of this speaking about the abuse etc etc, too much pain. So I decided to focus on another topic instead. Infact in here we have a line about quirk genetic. Basically the doctor said the Touya has a genetic predisposition to coldness instead of fire tolerance. and well, as many I suspect this doctor might be as well Ujiko. We've been told twice already, but both times are link to this doctor so I've thought... if this wasnt true? (1)

Ill say better: there's no way Touya fire tolerance is zero. in fact he overabuse his power, and he gets damages, but even Enji occurs in overheating. Basing on flames color he hit this when flames are at best around 800/900 + extended time. while Touya always sustain a span of 1300/1400 - much higher. even shoto never reached that hotness. So while he of course has ice predisposition, his fire tolerance cant be either 0, or he would be as good as dead. (2)

infact we were always told Touya is more gifted, but flames have different temperatures. it would be like a car only going from 0 to 100. it's unlikely. but it would make sense if touya can use cooler flames, but he gave up to impress his dad. if so, then he cant become an hero because his overheat durability is even worse than his father. but if that's the case... i never believed that by luck Tenko's quirk uber activated. and he was found by AFO. so what if someone fueled touya like this?

Hi cool Anon! I am not so wise, but I hope I’m a little wiser than yesterday, and the day before that, and so on :P

So I don’t personally put much stock in the actual science of the series (which isn’t a knock against it btw, but it’s a fantasy in a lot of ways so I’m not really expecting precise scientific explanations of quirks). So, I’m not sure that there’s any way Touya was engineered that way beyond just like Enji and Rei having a baby and the genetic lottery rolling a certain number.

However, I do think you’re potentially onto something with Ujiko. We don’t see the face of the doctor in this chapter, but it seems entirely possible it is Ujiko (since he had questionable ethics, as does this doctor).

Either way, I think Ujiko more strikes me as an opportunistic sort--I don’t think he engineered Touya’s genes, but I do think it is possible he saw an opportunity to exploit the situation. I’m not sure why or how yet. Something unethical. Maybe Touya went to him and asked him to somehow change his genes to deal with his quirk and Ujiko was like “sure let’s plan a fake-out death” and actually had his own creepy plans. But it’s also possible it was just an accident that Ujiko then took advantage of. Or just an accident Touya miraculously survived, but it seems clear he had some kind of medical help (jaw bone), so I can’t rule out something sinister. In fact, given the Frankenstein allusion, it’s more likely than not.

If Horikoshi does go the Ujiko route, though (and I’m thinking we might well get that answer soon), I really, really, really hope he’s aware of the subtext. It’s already extremely blatant with Shigaraki’s story with All for One. Like, the subtext of a man grooming a vulnerable child and then taking over his body to use as the man wants is... very, very icky, and has to be handled really well.
