TOURNAMENT MASTERPOST
synopses and propaganda under the cut
Blink
Synopsis
In an abandoned house, the Weeping Angels wait. The only hope to stop them is a young woman named Sally Sparrow and her friend Larry Nightingale. The only catch: the Weeping Angels can move in the blink of an eye. To defeat the ruthless enemy — with only a half of a conversation from the Tenth Doctor as help — the one rule is this: don't turn your back, don't look away and don't blink!
Propaganda no propaganda submitted
City of Death
Synopsis
While taking in the sights of Paris in 1979, the Fourth Doctor and Romana sense that someone is tampering with time. Who is the mysterious Count Scarlioni? Why does he seem to have counterparts scattered through time? And just how many copies of the Mona Lisa did Leonardo da Vinci paint?
Propaganda
even if your not a classic who fan, you have seen moments from this, “wonderful butler, he’s so violent”, “youre a beautiful woman, probably”, “if you wanted an omelette I’d expect to find a pile of broken crockery, a cooker in flames, and an unconscious chef”. The location shooting, iconic, the music, iconic, the plot, so iconic I was once watching something (non doctor who) that referenced it as a fake historical event. Dare I say duggan is the greatest side character of all time. Romana’s outfit, the design of scaroth, the implication time lords can fly. it’s not my favourite overall, but its damn near close, it deserves AT LEAST the semi finals, AT LEAST. If you’ve not seen it or any classic who, go watch it, its so good, one of the best of the era. Also, how could I forget, the most watched episode on broadcast out of all of doctor who, including new who. (yes it was because itv was off the air due to strikes, but im glad its this episode that holds the record) (anonymous)

(comic references under cut)
a personal and fav hc of mine is that following jason's death, yes, batman shuts down, yes, he becomes colder and destructive — going out every night and staying out for as long as he can because hurting is better than trying and failing to sleep. i don't think he would have done the same as bruce wayne, though.
bruce wayne pulls away from the public. galas and events are either cancelled by the wayne foundations or go ahead without the man in attendance. no one can really blame him, after the death of his sheltered and beloved second son. there are no comments issued by anyone in the family besides what is strictly necessary and after one unavoidable yet invasive investigation¹ to sedate public obsession, bruce wayne does not speak on the matter at all.
he does however say a lot through action.
within a couple months, a long standing project finally gets unveiled with no big event or publicity. the Jason Todd-Wayne Homeless Shelter, right in the centre of Crime Alley. the Jason Todd-Wayne Children's Fund, offering free lunch meals to school children from struggling families. The Jason Project, focusing on reading programmes in prisons and rehabilitation support. donations under the name Jason Todd are publicly given to a multitude of charities.
the public opinion on these actions are split. some find it wonderful if heartbreaking, how a child can be so loved that their parent will do anything to make their legacy leave a mark in time. gotham hasn't seen such abrupt change in — well, ever. bruce wayne is known for charity, of course, but this is different. this is for one person. this is the most expensive form of mourning.
others are a bit unsettled. if all of this could have been done, why not do it before? why use a dead boy's name to do good that will only benefit the living waynes reputations? is this some sort of ego thing? to make himself feel better? to make everyone else feel bad?
bruce doesn't quite know himself.
part of it feels useless, pouring money and time not spent breaking bones (his own and others) into fulfilling dreams jason had once had. the boy had always wanted to help in a way that was more than batman, more than bruce. is it invasive, to assume jason would have been grateful for this, that jason would have agreed? does he have any right to be so presumptuous?
part of it feels necessary. to implicitly tell the world that even before jason todd had publicly died, the city had lost a hero². that losing him is more than just an article for the front page of the daily newsletter. that gotham has lost someone intrinsically important. to make it clear that bruce wayne is only as good as what his children let him be. that they are the ones who can make change, at the end of the day.
most of it is selfish. the Wayne Botanical Gardens opens a new exhibit for the first time in decades named My Son. the Gotham Library dedicates an entire self to Jason Todd-Wayne. the third door in the living quarters of the Wayne Manor is always locked, except for monthly dustings. there is a lesson, locked in a glass case down in a Cave, labeled A Good Soldier.

where's bruce wayne giving his kids hugs that are a little too tight and a second too long after they let go because who knows when or if you'll be able to ever hug them again
where's bruce wayne who goes to his kid's recitals and school events when he can because he wants them to be able to see their father's face in the crowd
where's bruce wayne who hangs up and says i love you or that he's proud of them or to be safe because it can be the last thing he's ever said to them. the last thing they ever hear from him.
where's bruce wayne who is a nervous, over involved wreck because he knows how cruel the world can be
where's bruce wayne sucking in a breath and shaking anytime the phone calls because it can be the one to deliver fatal news
where's bruce wayne who's eyes water up when he realizes how much his children grown
where's bruce wayne who makes sure all his kids know they can always return back to the manor. for a day, for a lifetime, there's always a room. that they'll always have a place to stay and it'll always be their home too
where's bruce wayne who checks on his kids before going to bed, who visits the empty rooms too just in case and out of habit
where's bruce wayne who bandages his children's scrapes and bruises when theyre 20 because they'll always be his babies
where's bruce wayne who supports his children and let's them know they never have to be alone
where's bruce wayne who had his parents and childhood so violently ripped away from him that now he gets to be what he always wanted - a father.

In the name of Lawyers, what's your Ace Attorney knowledge?
I know the first game pretty well, so I'd say 5. However, with the combined knowledge of my Ace Attorney loving friends, I'd raise that to 50.
However, if you are looking for some MDZS x AA crossover content, check out these posts by @lazycranberrydoodles! They're an amazing artist!

Was tagged by @oceancamp to post my current five favorite songs! (They should invent a stages-of-grief-esque model that encompasses and accurately describes both types of anguish I had to go through making this list - the one of limiting myself to only five songs, and the one of trying to put as little videogame music on here as possible so that I don't end up looking like an absolute goddamn geek, which... I am... Oh well!)
Thank you so much for tagging me - here are the songs!
Heaven Pierce Her - War Without Reason
Tatsuro Yamashita - Love Space
This specific arrangement of Death And Republic + Meet Again
Winger - Junkyard Dog (Tears On Stone)
The Protomen - Light Up The Night
Is it courtesy to tag other people after you've been tagged in a post like this? If that's the case, I'll tag @spiralled-fury, @solradguy, @swamppossum, @five-by-five, @northstarring, @ineedmoredragons and @tbonechessor!
#logs#ya don't have to participate if you don't want to‚ from what i've gathered - it's all just for fun anyway :]#The link to Yamashita's song is actually a link to a website that hosts city pop songs‚ since those keep getting taken down on YouTube due#to the strictness of Japan's copyright laws with regards to music. Uploads of Yamashita's songs in particular get taken down quite#frequently... The rest are either Bandcamp or YouTube (in case of Junkyard Dog) links#Very out-of-character of me not to put a Кино song on here‚ haha#I had a hard time deciding whether to put HOLD BACK THE NIGHT or Light Up The Night here‚ but ultimately decided on Light Up The Night#because... hoo boy#okay storytime. i've known of the protomen since somewhere around 2021. got The Good Doctor in my recommended feed‚ clicked on it because#i thought the album cover was cool + the title was appealing‚ but i never really listened to anything theirs beyond that song after that.#fast forward to 2022. be me‚ watching the greatest videoessay on planet earth (Steak Bentley's Metal Gear Solid 4 Was A Mistake).#the fucking MONTAGE comes on‚ and I fall in love with my second Protomen song. second fast forward to 2023 going into 2024‚ finally got#around to playing the Violence update. i learn of the name of level 7-2. the widest‚ most mischievous grin appears on my face.#i enter the level‚ proclaim ''ULTRAKlLL IS NOW A STEAK BENTLEY REFERENCE'' and blast the song as i get my ass beat by every single thing in#that level.#and let me tell you. getting mollywhopped ten thousand times by the FUCKING GUTTERTANK TRIO AT THE END OF THE LEVEL WAS. not a pleasant#experience. but the song made it better. :) (i played the level before the balance patch came out and uh let's just say i had more deaths on#that level than on 2gabe and 1gabe. SEVENTY-FOUR. FUCKING. RESTARTS. JESUS /CHRIST/.#goodness how i yearn to make a 3d animation of v1 going through 7-4 with that song in the background as a tribute to the man himself but#alas i am a student who has everything in the world but time#thanks for the tag again!! ^^

i know nobody cares about this but me, but the way people still in 2024 think homura is some Obsessive Evil Psycho Abuser™ who wanted everyone but madoka to die horribly drives me up a wall. like, did we watch the same anime/movie(s)? are you just so blinded by hatred of homura that you flat out ignore canon entirely? what is it.

“An Unquiet Grave,” Moon Knight: City of the Dead (Vol. 1/2023), #4.
Writer: David Pepose; Penciler: Marcelo Ferreira; Inker: Jay Leisten; Colorist: Rachelle Rosenberg; Letterer: Cory Petit
#Marvel#Marvel comics#Marvel 616#Moon Knight: City of the Dead#Moon Knight comics#latest release#Moon Knight#Marc Spector#Peter Alraune#Marlene Alraune#Diatrice Alraune#tw suicidal ideation#cw suicidal ideation#(just in case)#ayyyy it always gets me that when Marc’s recalling the worst things he’s ever done it runs the gambit from#‘gave Black Spectre a bit of a shove’ to ‘carving a whole face off’#and I mean yeah both were instances of murder but they do definitely feel different from each other#but gosh what gets me right in the craw here#is the resignation to his legacy being one of death#when this very series has such a good example in Khalil of how people in the community view Moon Knight as someone#you can go to whenever you might need help and he’ll make sure justice is done#and!!! Diatrice and Marleneeeee! just one instance how Marc’s legacy goes beyond ‘death’#call me basic but I am absolutely emotionally susceptible to stories of how#even when all you can see is the mistakes you’ve made (those that caused legitimate as well as perhaps self-exaggerated harm to others)#there’s still a whole bunch of good you’ve done too that has uniquely and indelibly impacted invaluable human lives for the better#and since those lives have indisputable value so does yours#part of the human condition unfortunately is making mistakes but gosh there is also so much good one has the potential to do#for so many people both in ‘big’ and small (but no less important/impactful) ways over the course of one life#anyway…don’t mind me waxing philosophical (again) in the tags about one of my favorite themes in Moon Knight comics

Btw if you’re weird about cyclists I will block with abandon unless it’s funny enough. In places with the infrastructure to support cycling and places with decent public transport there need to be less cars on the road. I’m not even saying no cars but dramatically less. For the climate and for air quality and for safety. It’s cars that make roads dangerous for everyone not cyclists.

man...i’m starting to rethink how I thought of Ichigo’s inner world changing. He’s a character that goes from looking for a cause to die for to finding (many, MANY) reasons to live for.
At first, I thought that his inner landscape going from towering skyscrapers to .. just plain ol’ Karakura town was signalling that his ambition had eroded. That he’d been harried and forced by repeated threats into hunkering down and shelling up for lack of the vision to see any other options. Now I’m starting to think that I gave Zangetsu a bit too much credit with his jabs to that effect.
I’m sure plenty of people smarter than me have already said this, but the skyscrapers were sideways. That’s the view you get when you’re jumping off of them.

another interesting thing i noticed between marvel and dc is that dc treats their environments like characters all their own. each hero has "their" city and they put a lot of time and effort into making that city into something unique and fitting to the hero, to the point where gotham and metropolis are as much Batman And Superman as batman and superman themselves are, and they are not them without their homes. gotham itself has become a meme synonymous with a rough part of town. meanwhile marvel doesnt do that, they just use new york as a basis for everything, and if you arent from new york you end up living there. this isnt a condemnation or critique of that, but its definitely a part of why im a bigger dc fan than marvel

I want Leo to suffer so much like make him the most manipulative version of himself ever but not because he is evil or smth. Just since he's the leader he has to make too many bald decisions that his family will not support but it's like the only way to win so he manipulates everyone (remember when he tricked Splinter and Big Mama)
And it hurts badly. Leo hates it he knows that his family simply can't trust him without any doubts anymore although everyone knows that he's only doing it for them. It's a fair price he has to pay for his leadership skills but it will never stop hurting.
