The more I get back into liking, loving and lusting on people, the more I'm reminded what a sanitized, segregated lie queers have been built into.
I've met the sweetest, prettiest queens who tell me "Well, I'm a transsexual. Sometimes I call myself a transman because both my trans self and my manhood are me."
New friends tell me about the sexcapades their closed polycule gets up to that they just watch because they're a kinky ace.
There's staunch lesbians who helped the love of their life transition as a transmasc, gay men begging to be topped by trans men with the fattest tits.
Older queers don't hesitate to shout "oh, like Prince!" when I tell them I'm androgyne. Vanilla questioning men will text me day after day before shyly confessing I'm their dream guy. Closeted trans women ask to kiss me because I'm their dream girl. Doms and subs who melt when they realize I'm both and neither, and they didn't know somebody like me existed.
There's vanilla lesbians on Grindr and acearos who have shown me love deeper than I thought possible and guydykes kissing girlfags and MtFtMtX elders and throuples that have so much affection that they just collectively parent babygays who got disowned.
Everybody is so beautiful! There is so much love! It is no wonder a cruel world has a vested interest in suppressing queerness when humanity is so expansive to us.

a weird thing is that we got waves of people going "who cares if its cringe or youre annoying! have fun!" but no one really learned how to accept the fact that some people will find you annoying or think your art or your work or posts or anyrhing sucks and thats ok. rather it just became a weird "if people think youre annoying theyre just morally bad. let people enjoy things!". like no i think this yes man only biome sucks and people are allowed to not like artstyles and shows and media and other things

I feel like I've said this before somewhere, but I feel like ever since I got covid (and complications from said covid) making art has taken longer, been harder, and looked... worse????
I can't tell if it's psychological or if I lost an amount of muscle memory but man. It's been six months and I still don't feel the same.

For anyone who hasn't seen them before, Hidden Search Operators are handy tricks you can use when you're either searching or filtering AO3.
summary: string is a generic way of explaining that you can search AO3 for a specific word that appears in a summary. You can do this from the search bar in the header, from the Any Field box at the top of the Advanced Search form, or from the Search Within Results box at the bottom of the filter menu.
Examples:
summary: Bruce
summary: "Bruce Banner"
summary: Bruce OR summary: Banner OR summary: Hulk
You need to put quotation marks around your search term if it is more than one word. The quotes make sure that the site searches for those two words together.
The other two operators listed work best in the Search Within Results box.
expected_number_of_chapters: 1 will return results where every fic has only 1 chapter currently posted.
You can use expected_number_of_chapters: -1 if you want results where every fic has more than 1 chapter currently posted.
otp:true will return results where there is only 1 relationship tag on the fic. If you want results where there are 2+ relationship tags (and no fics with only 1 relationship tag) then you can use otp:false

Chapter 15: Trapped
Snippet:
The temple’s entrance emerged from the forest all at once. One moment, they were pushing past tree branches and stepping over thick roots, and the next, Dorian was face-to-face with a huge and unforeseen slab of rock; a moss-covered outcropping of stone which pressed itself out of a high hill of forest covered earth. A rusting metal fixture bolted into the stone was all that marked the spot as being anything other than a plain, rocky cliff. The fixture held a torch which looked old and decrepit enough to crumble in his hands.
The First stepped forward. He pushed away some growth of vines and tapped his staff over the creeping moss which grew as a soft fur coat up the cliff's shadowed lower half. The moss crumbled away, revealing rows and rows of intricate runic carvings.
Then the First said something, a muttered string of Elvhen words accompanied by another couple taps of his staff. The carvings alighted, and the rock split open.
Dorian watched as the stone creaked in low, grating sounds to reveal a doorway into pitch darkness. He plucked the torch from the wall, glad to find it felt sturdy enough in his hand, and lit it with a spark of magic. The spark took to the wrappings in a gust of energy, flame-like but not. Wisps of greenish flame stuck to its top, but looking closely, the torch didn’t even really seem to burn. The eerie veil-tinted light was steady, unaffected by Dorian’s motion or any passing breeze.
Dorian gestured with his torch towards the dark entryway which the elf had revealed. “After you,” he offered.
Without hesitation or concern, in marched the First.

Shit man, this wizard war is fucked. I just saw a guy clap his hands together and say "the ten hells" or some similar shit, and every one around him turned inside out, had their tibia explode and then disappeared. The camera didn't even go onto him, that's how common shit like this is. My ass is casting frostbite and level 2 poison. I think I just heard "power word:scrunch" two groups over. I gotta get the fuck outta here.
