✦ commissions are reopening !!! ✦
tomorrow (oct. 6th) at 5pm BRT (UTC -3:00)! :D
some more stuff about this upcoming batch under the cut!!
AAAA finally getting these open again :')
there have been a couple updates to commissions, including in some of the prices. the rules still are the same as last time though c: and the process itself also has not changed either!
but!! backgrounds for the illustrations are officially available now too!! :D
backgrounds that require shading and lighting but are otherwise just backdrops are an extra $5, and then scene-like environments with more detail and background elements, or in which character interacts with their surroundings, or backgrounds that require depth and perspective, are $10 to $15 extra depending on complexity! we can always discuss these and see what works for any given order tho, as usual c:
simple gradients or textures or patterns all remain free, and icons, doodles, and (especially) experimentals may get nifty backgrounds entirely on the house too! :D
and!!! i'm also going to be offering $5 USD doodle commissions too!! you can read more about 'em and the examples more closely over [here]!! they work a bit different than regular commissions in that they have a 30min time limit (and their own queue list, too, so that they don't take slots from the regular orders) :3c

this batch also has a smaller number of slots between active and queue ones, so as to get through workload faster and more efficiently and hopefully open another batch sooner c':
and, well, if the queue slots get claimed within a week, i'm alright with increasing then just a bit, but i reckon 15 should work out well!
i'm still finishing up a couple of the previous orders too, but i'm organizing things so that neither those orders nor any new ones will interfere with each other, so, no worries there!! ;v;
but yes, i'll be posting this again tomorrow once everything's ready to go :3c

Yeah, the neat and tidy room he once had goes back to greasy man cave in about a week

You practically massacred him after you threw out his huge load of snacks
Slenderman
He is seen as a fatherly figure around the mansion as well, so he understands the struggle as well as the happiness
He finds it a huge relief to have your help around the mansion from time to time
While he is still technically your boss, you do have moments where you two just get to talk to each other
Sharing silly stories about the antics you both get into helps relieve a lot of stress
You even get to stay up past curfew to walk with him in the woods a bit, just to get put of the house
And you are one of his most trusty seamstresses
If he needs work done fast, he knows to go to you
One time he had a suit that would have been well beyond repair to anyone else, but you
You fixed it up in a few seconds
It astounds him every time
You also get along quite well with Trenderman too
He'll occasionally pop into the mansion, ignoring everyone welcoming him in as he hurriedly shouts "Where's y/n!"
Most of the time it is one of his iconic "fashion disasters"
Something that greatly ruins a piece, such as a tear, stain, etc
You always are the first person he goes to
And you always figure out a way to help him everytime
Jane the Killer
Jane doesn't talk to you much, but when you do talk, it is always pleasent
After talking to you a few times during some 2am passing conversations in the kitchen, she invites you to one of the "C dorm's" hangout sessions
These meetings consist of Liu, Jane, Helen and E.J
And now, you!
Most of the time, it is just a bunch of chatter around some snacks and drinks (usually either wine or tea)
But occassionally, there will be a theme
For example, one week they all read the same book and next time they hung out, they all disscussed the book
You were roped into one of the miscellaneous hangout sessions where they all just talked together
It was a very nice time, but after about an hour and a half, you noticed something that ticked you off
The pillow Jane was holding had a rip in the corner, the stuffing falling out
"Hey Jane, how long has your pillow been like that?" You ask
She looks down at the pillow and shrugs "a while I guess. Why?"
You take the pillow from her and quickly sew it up, before giving it back "there."
She looks at it with a soft "woah"
She gives you a smile "thanks!"
This turned out to be a mistake, because you now find yourself sewing the groups tears up all the time
One of Jack's tarps tore, you were there
Helen's canvas ripped, you were there
Liu's stitch across his nose came loose, and you were there
The entire group appreciates you, especially Jane
You've helped her create some oretty snazzy outfits

Special Informal Devlog
Hi-ho, Wudge here! Aaaa. I missed the update last week... as we crawl closer and closer to release, it's become harder for me to write devlogs. I'm making progress every single day, and that makes me so frustrated that it isn't done yet, you know? 😭 Something something curse of perfectionism...
Anyway.
I thought I'd try something a little different with this post by chronicling a specific screen I've worked very hard on, from start to finish!

It all began on... August 2021?! Yowza, two years ago! When I posted a poll on tumblr and on itch about how I should handle flirt indicators. The votes were split 50/50 between two popular options, and I was able to surmise that yall would really, really love an option to toggle between the two.
It didn't take me long to figure out how to implement the toggle itself.
The following year (September 2022), I came up with the idea of putting in an illustrated tutorial on how my flirt indication system works - after all, poll participants had told me that they loved the idea and had never seen it before in other games. I was on a treadmill at the time, so I quickly doodled the idea on my phone. It looks like this:
Then when I got home, I did a rough pen draft to solidify the idea...
I worked on the digital version over the next 2-3 weeks, and asked my friends for help with editing the text to ensure clarity.
.... Then I took a looong break from the infographic to, uh.... write, edit, playtest the game, draw expressions for Griffin CG, draw expressions for the landlord, work on a new Clammy Lady sprite, playtest the game again, make all the characters blink, make the first glowing animation for Jade's powers, code in Griffin's CG expressions, stress about paypal making changes in my country, do concept art for upcoming npcs, write some more, playtest some more, draw a birthday picture for Dart, write devlogs every single week, make sure all my files were safely transferred to my new laptop before my old one completely died... etc.
So it was February 2023 by the time I came back around to try implementing the infographic in code :')
... It was functional, but no matter what I tried, I didn't like how it looked with everything crammed into one page.
... Then I got really sick... but after I recovered and did some more work (drawing, writing, playtesting, etc) I came back to the infographic with the intention to learn how to code pages in renpy.
Still didn't look phenomenal, but there's a whole lot more breathing room! This was in April 2023.
I took another "break" (worked on a million other things) and then... FINALLY... in late August 2023, just a few weeks ago, I had an art breakthrough!
I had garnered a better understanding of color and poses, and as a result my chibis became a LOT cuter! I was able to redraw most of them without too much hassle - whereas when I first started, it would take me all day to draw a single one.
I also drew custom heart icons (a plain heart, a golden heart, and a broken heart), figured out how to make text buttons look more fun and intuitive..
And here's where we're at now!!! I still need to draw eyes for Dart.... but I researched and absorbed a lot about screen compositions, and had a rather late realization that I could re-use backgrounds and assets I already have in the game.

Agsudisg I'm so glad you liked it, Kazi, I literally sat down the moment I finished reading and started drawing cuz you freaking killed me, I MEAN, vox being stubborn and denying help, and Alastor stubbornly giving him the aid he needs, but crouched in their respective toxic egos and self-image? So delicious. Alastor, who needs to know why he was left behind, and vox who's desperately pouring himself into the new thing... Ahhhh...
The part where he implies he really was running off to die...and Alastor goes all soft...the shared frequency, the antenna petting... I reread that multiple times bc it's so good...and the claws, the claws, vox denies wanting help from alastor to the last, but the claws!
(also we tots need full seasons and reruns of 'Let's Shit on Vox', I bet Alastor even encourages to call in with more info, not that anyone would bc they're too scared. Hey, does carmilla have to listen his obsession LOL)
Btw for the artist questions, if you want, 9, 14, 30?

Heheh the part where "Alastor goes all soft" is also a little on the part of RR!AU characterization, so it's a bit exaggerated. He's trying to ween his way in appealing to Vox again, but RR!AU Vox is just so tired. Alastor keeps bringing up the past....This was kind of a wacky scenario to write because it does skip/make you infer a lot of stages of development, but the AU is close enough to canon that I think it's not far to imagine filling in the gaps hhh....
LMFAO yes, Alastor def encourages call-ins, "The 'Let's Shit on Vox' show, your one-stop opportunity to diss Hell's most saturated overlord!" -- on the rare occasion someone actually called in, Alastor killed whoever said something off about Vox that wasn't to his "flavor" of hate.
Carmilla has already read through these two idiots and just rolls her eyes at their immaturity. If she's there for Alastor's radio show, she's just in the background, utterly done and convinced they're playing everything up for entertainment at this point. Now that has me thinking, if Alastor ever started feeling something unfamiliar and god-forbid genuinely *good*(????), he would probably consult Rosie or Carmilla for it first........and Vox would ask Charlie.....oh..........

9. What are your file name conventions?
I have terrible file organization. Many of them are named "a", "aa3", "asgv", "fhgh", or other random keyboard smashes. Recently, I have a bad habit of naming files "sketch1", "sk1", "skht1", or some misspelled way-- it's gotten so bad I'm up to "sketch22".... I find things by icon only.
14. Any favorite motifs?
Straight edges and shapes, maybe? I started drawing with an anime style though I'm mostly into western media-- I think it's very satisfying to have nice shape design/silhouettes though, but I don't draw in a super cartoony or exaggerated style so it's kind of hard to tell that I like and have fun doing it. I'm kind of scattered and like to dip my foot into everything unfortunately.
30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated?
None really, but if I had to pick one for HH, maybe this one.
For my older art, definitely this one. I mean, I don't love it anymore, but I really thought I ATE with the concept at the time.

I NEED to know more about Tony…
Do you have any more lore on him?
AAAA thank you for being interested in my ultraviolent himbo!
I only have one more piece of lore for him so far, which is about his nickname. I won't share it now because I'm going to have a proper post for it, and I'm really excited to share it. Since I don't have any other lore to share, I'll share a little more about his creation process.
Tony is definitely an aberration for me in that he kinda sprang to life as I was making him. Usually I don't know shit about my OCs until I literally need to know it, like when people send asks. 😂
As I mentioned on his intro post, I needed to test the Gymfiend body for the jeans I've been working on. Originally I put the body mods in with Travis loaded and babygirl does not work out and looked way too goofy, so I headed to Character Creator to make a throwaway guy as I have done before.
I hit the random button a bunch of times until the basis for Tony appeared and caught my eye. I didn't make many alterations to his face structure but made some cosmetic changes. While I was working, he told me one thing that helped solidify him into a "real" OC and not just Some Guy I use to test clothes -- he told me about his heavy heart at not making up with Jackie before he died. (If you know anything about Val, you might recognize that theme of guilt surrounding the death of another.)
As far as his character design, knowing how to mod is a real danger here, because with nim's more meshes I was able to raid the Valentinos meshes and gave him the eye cyberware and earrings. I also used Nora's morphtargets to add an additional scar -- you might have noticed that the left side of his face (his left) is covered in scars. I was able to use another facial scar that wasn't offered in CC but was included in the game. (Jsilverhand added it as an option, as well as other scars if you're interested.) I also used the morphtarget mod to add an additional mustache. I wanted that iconic mustache but also wanted to keep that particular goatee, as I liked how his lip piercings worked with it.
I still have a little bit of editing to do on the cyberware as it still clips a teeeny bit with his cheek at the bottom, but otherwise I'm really excited about how he turned out!

Apologies
It’s been a rough day. As I said I think I had vertigo and I had to head out for a bit to get new stuff for cat and get my hair cleaned up a bit. Still a bit busy but I’m ok. I’m mostly having trouble thinking about more than one thing at a time. I have one last set of asks to do to end the arc. Then imma do some reblogs and wholesome asks on the other blogs for a little bit. Next week I may be a bit busy and week after that Imma be flying out for a bit to visit my cousins wedding Aswell as get some materials for a special gift I’ll be getting. :3c Also tomorrow gonna be just as hetic. Hopefully I’ll feel better. But I do have two pics I’ll be getting that I’m sure some of you will like. Possibly 3. We will see. Also during this arc @askchammy has been making some audio for me that I absolutely LOVE and I promise you when the time comes I WILL SHARE THEM. I just need time and one picture to make it start. Trust me. You all are gonna LOVE them. And not just cuz chammy is voicing them. Let’s just say the three humans are put in a very familiar…. “Creative”…. Setting. :D

Phoenix’s tears hurt her
First time Phoenix cried was when she was talking with google. right after she died.
Google looked around and spotted the Co-Captain drawing nonsensical shapes and letters around a paper. ”what are you doing?” ”EEP! oh Google! haha! you spooked me! i’m just, doodling.”
“its a waste of paper. shouldn’t you be doing a public speaking right now? yes. you have one in 5 minutes, you asked me to remind you.” Google grumbled looking down at the newly Resurrected Bird.
“i don’t wanna go anymore. everyone looks at me like a zombie. Even Chandler looks scared of me! like i’m here to torment them. I- in limbo i thought everyone would, maybe. Pay more attention to me? But everyones just laughs and tells me not to die again. or blow up the planet because a nice flower told me too.” The Co-Captain mumbled curling up.
“You woke me up.” Google kneeled slowly, searching how to properly speak to her. ”exactly. Everyone thinks i’m a silly little bubble head, because everyone told me you where evil! you would bring down the ship. . but i freed you. and now everyones watching me. . readying for something to happen.”
She looked back up and noticed the blue hologram in front of her Droid friend. ”It says here everyone on the crew cared about you. the cameras say it all once Chandler told the crew.” Phoenix barked a laugh. ”of course they cared then. but once it settled, everyone gets over it. its Human to forgive and forget.”
“My personal studies say your their weakness. if you where to die again-“ ”Thats enough Google.” She was in a tight ball wings slowly covering her body.
“But my point is. if you never woke me. You wouldn’t have had the need to protect the ship. then you wouldn’t have died. then. you wouldn’t be powerful. you could make anyone do anything you want.” Google slid his iconic evil grin.
there was a sudden hiss of pain and Google jumped. ”i’m sensing pain in your facial area.” Phoenix looked up blood and tears streaked her face. ”it- it hurts. Google. my tears hurt. . make it stop. please.” Google ripped part of his shirt and sprayed it with disinfectant making The Co-Captain scream in agony more tears coming and wetting the Cloth.
Chandler won’t like any explanation why Their sister was not only late. but screamed in the middle of the forest. Poor Google 😂😂

there is one (1) single promotional image of niragi and karube edited next to each other in a character line up and every time i see it i feel robbed of their dynamic. even in a non-romantic, fully antagonistic way, they would’ve been iconic. i mean, you have chota early in the season talking about being bullied and then rescued by arisu and karube, then later have niragi’s backstory scene be about him being bullied and not having anyone to help him, i just !!! aaaa!!!!! anyway, ramble aside! thank you so much for reading my fics and enjoying them!! 🩵
