i think yuuji's greatest strength is definitely his compassion and perserverance! he is just so so kind and always thinking about others, even strangers. e.g. at the detention centre when he wanted to bring the dead bodies back, at the station when he paid respects to the person who was killed by that grasshopper curse, how he cheers nanami on when he's feeling anxious and so on. even when hes lost and lost and lost, he gets back up to keep fighting. hes really incredibly strong both physically and mentally and I LOVE YUUJI. his weakness is arguably also his kindness. he lacks the brutality to live in jjk's world (put him in a romance anime now) and that hinders him a lot. he constantly blames himself and that makes it easier for people like mahito or sukuna to tear him down :( for megumi, i think his greatest strength is his intelligence. my boy is SO clever. we always watch him analyse a situation quickly and hes able to guess the opponent's ct, and then counteract that. he also uses his own ct in really cool ways like combining shikigami, storing things in shadows, or even blending himself into the shadow <3 his weakness, which is kind of mentioned in canon, is how much he doubts his strength. he lets other people do the job. he tends to summon mahoraga when things get tough. he has a lot of potential thats acknowledged by really strong characters like sukuna and gojo, but he holds himself back, and i think he loses battles because of this itafushi my loves... i love that they care SO much for each other. they have their whole 'save me' thing going on which is great. also black cat x goldren retriever dynamic is always a fav. i love that they have SUCH faith in each other and never give up on the other and how they're always protecting each other (dont tell itadori & dont you dare say that to fushiguro). gege give them their happy ending now please

🐉🐯 shin soukoku:

i think atsushi's greatest strength is that he chooses kindness. a little different from yuuji who is inherently kind. atsushi grew up tortured and bullied and has every right to be cruel, to lash out, and we have seen his strength. he is able to kill. but atsushi chooses to be kind and forgiving. he has his sassy moments but hes gentle to kyouka, he loves dazai and the agency, he shares a sort of understanding with akutagawa and so on. id say his weakness is his uncertainty. i mean definitely not his fault! but hes new to this world, and in bsd it's be quick or be killed. he also tends to throw himself in the line of fire due to his regenerative abilities so thats not great either sjfsks akutagawa's strength imo is his determination. he is often compared to a dog, in the way that he is fierce and sinks his fangs into things he wants. in beast, it’s especially clear how much he cares for gin and how far he will go for them, the fact that he’d do ANYTHING. he keeps his promises, like the one with atsushi, where even as a vampire he managed to refrain himself from killing aya and anyone else. thats insanely impressive and i think it’s a really overlooked part of his character! however, his weakness, to me, is the way he sees himself. i read a post about how easily akutagawa dehumanises himself, referring to himself as a dog, a murderous beast etc. i think a part of his jealousy towards atsushi stems from this factor. because atsushi is this shiny, perfect version of him, and he is a monstrous dog from the slums (and he also has dogs on his dislikes list so that makes me go hmm). sorry i dont know where im going with this but i think basically akutagawa needs to recognise his strength in order to BE stronger, and thats part of the reason why he remains stuck in this cycle of hatred and anger with himself—he cannot see his own worth, and that makes him bitter. i love my dear sskk they are INSANE. they have everything—enemies to lovers, yin and yang symbolism, not so different after all trope, funny sassy moments, HUGE angst moments (this isnt you!!!), horny vampire bites etc. their development across the series continues to be the best of all time in my opinion. akutagawa going from this terrifying, horrible beast in atsushi’s eyes, to being one of his guiding lights (asking him to look out the door where dazai is pointing). and atsushi going from the source of akutagawa’s bitter jealousy and fury to the person he gave his life for. they are WONDERFUL i love them sm

🩵💛 shiguang:

CHENG XIAOSHI MY BELOVED. i think his strength and weakness are the same—his bleeding heart. cxs is shown time and time again throughout the series to be so empathetic towards everyone. i think him being able to feel the emotions of the person he’s possessing symbolises this more than anything. he’s had a rough childhood—lost his parents, shunned for being different by other kids, other adults shitting on him etc, and yet he remains so kind. his speech with emma really made me cry. the way he was delivering chen xiao’s messages as well was so heartfelt. he cares so much for qiao ling and lu guang too. also the way he so easily extended a hand to invite lg to play bball with him and his friends! cxs is just so sweet despite everything i love him cxs’s bleeding heart is a huge source of his meltdowns. lg tells him time and time again that he cannot change the past, but cxs tries and tries and tries. the earthquake episode really stuck out to me with how devastated cxs was about failing, when there was really nothing he could do. then he blames himself. he falls apart and starts giving up. he loves too hard, empathising with strangers, and then he gets caught up with the emotions and fucks some stuff up (sending emma’s parents that text message), which as we can see created a butterfly effect to the entirety of link click lu guang’s strength imo is his sensibility! i think this is really important in link click, as we are showed that the key message/takeaway is to not change the past. to let things be as it is. lg understands this (though hes a hypocrite) and he is cxs’s guidance, helping him grieve, even lying to him when he has to in order to get cxs out alive. i think it takes a lot of strength to make your best friend hate you and lie to them the way he did (again, earthquake episode i am looking at u) lu guang’s weakness comes in the form of one person and that is cheng xiaoshi skfnsk. not even for shipping purposes cause this is canon. we see how he absolutely FREAKS OUT over the possibility of cxs dying. hes not as strong of a fighter as cxs is, but he went feral. he was throwing punches and yelling, which is really different from the cool demeanour that lg usually has! then we find out hes been trying to save cxs, going against HIS OWN RULES, things he know can fuck up the timeline, all for him. just one person. cxs makes him lose his sensibility (his strength!!) and it gets him into trouble pretty often shiguang means the world to me because they are so devoted to each other. they vibed one (1) time and became bffs of all time. cxs is gentle and teasing and annoying to lg because hes comfortable around him. lg does loosen up around cxs imo, and his willingness to break his own rules just for cxs!!! ahhhh!!!! i also love their dumb inside jokes and how theyre both so smart but also share one brain cell. they’ve been doomed from the start. i cannot wait to see where link click goes with them and how we will progress now knowing that lg has been breaking the laws of time askfjdb

He doesn't handle it Whatsoever . I think w Sun Wukong it's a sort of quiet acceptance . Mourning what they could've had had they met earlier or had they been different people . Doyou get me . They're too jaded for this to work out now but something in him still wants to try anyways . Fear of losing the dynamic they've built up already by these new feelings but being unable to quiet them enough to keep this fighting and hatred up . GUYS .

Morshid may not show it but he's genuinely very afraid of what the future holds for them- SO much has changed in the course of the show for him, he's had his whole worldview practically flipped upside down, almost lost the one person he cares for, and now has to build a life outside of Marek and his mission . I think Morshid wants Wukong to be a part of that life, or to share it with him, even if he won't admit this, but the thought of taking that first step towards it scares him. I think Sun Wukong is very tired, and even though he thinks it's unrealistic for people like them, he still likes picturing a bigger bed and two mugs perched on his kitchen counter and a new head for the little monkeys to groom and play with . Unbeknownst to them this future is not as far as it seems :3

Mei first assumes it's a negative reaction and tries to stop doing whatever prompted it but then Marek very tentatively initiates and Mei realises it was actually positive :33 Mei is aromantic 2 me in a different way than Marek and their switch from friends to Whatever-They-Are-Rn is like gradual and natural to Mei and more bumpy or confusing to Marek

MK is basing all his knowledge off crappy rom-com films like "okay okay do you get butterflies when u see her?" and Marek very seriously considers this and goes "I think I'd describe it as a bowling ball knocking down pins except the pins are my organs and the bowling ball is Mei's cute face." and MK's like taking notes . He tries to prompt Marek to confess to Mei but he's SO fucking bad at it and so not-subtle that all it does is make Marek tackle him to the ground to shut him up . Goobers .....

while its a banger track, i cant help but feel like the lyrics relate to them a ton. even through translations it’s still easy to read the song as something chan would sing to y/n, asking and telling them at the same time that they’re so cold. there’s a lyric that goes “your lips are purple like the flowers i’ll never buy you” (apologies if that’s mistranslated) and honestly? chan would definitely still buy those flowers for them, but maybe a part of him hesitates still considering y/n’s antics. he doesn’t know if they’ll be extra mean to him about it. your scenario hurts, too: chan would finally muster up the courage to ask them why they treat him this way even if he knows they’re confused with their feelings for him, but…maybe it leads to them opening up to each other, them navigating through their own feelings out of mean sex for once, and ends with a confession from the reader, who knows :D

okay so to me, yuki holds personal choice and her own free will in very high regard. this goes along with the fact that she was supposed to merge with tengen as a spv but ultimately didn't go through with it. as far as i know, it's unclear in canon why she didn't go through with the merger, but i think her own choice to walk away played a major role in it and the higher ups let her do it bc of her technique (and because they're cowards who fear special grade sorcerers but that's another conversation)

in terms of appearance and presentation, i think yuki likes to play around with that sort of stuff. this is why yuki w dark roots/bleached hair is so special to me. i think she gets piercings, and then lets them close up once she's tired of them. i think she gets tattoos, and then maybe gets a few covered up. i think she should get to dye her hair purple and blue and pink and whatever other colors she wants. i think she enjoys buying new clothes and putting outfits together and making herself look how she feels, and her being trans just fits in with that so well. and i think she knew she was trans from a young age, and that solid aspect of her identity was something she could hold onto even as a star plasma vessel who isn't supposed to have a sense of identity, and that was how she knew she wanted to continue living as herself instead of merging with tengen. and along with the clear choices yuki has made concerning her appearance, i also think she doesn't cover up any of the things that are proof she's lived. she doesn't cover up her scars or freckles or moles with makeup. she doesn't shave her arms or legs. because she wasn't supposed to live as long as she has - she was supposed to merge with tengen and lose herself in the process - so everything that is evidence of the life she's lived is a reminder of how far she's come. they're a reminder that she chose to live, and it's a choice she wakes up and makes every day.

i don't think yuki was ever very close to her parents, and she never really had friends at school either. she learned to rely on herself when she was young, so by the time she ended up at jujutsu high, she was already independent. i do, however, think she got along fine with her classmates. but she clashed with the higher ups and most of her teachers quite a bit, and was always labelled as a troublemaker. i also think she had to fight hard to get full acknowledgement as a special grade - a lot harder than gojo and geto, who were basically just given their rankings. i think she had to prove herself several times over before the higher ups finally promoted her to special grade. i also think she was probably the sort of student who would not hesitate to call out the teachers if they were wrong about something, or ask questions that no one else wants to think about the answers to (hence, her going off and doing research on her own after she graduated)

i also think, at some point, she told the higher ups' her intention to study cursed energy and curses and figure out a way to cut off the problem at its source, and they all laughed in her face. i think the higher ups have basically ridiculed/taunted/looked down upon her from the moment she rejected her merger, and there are a lot of rumors spread about her that paint her in a negative light because of it. sometimes, she plays into them just because it gets people to leave her alone. in reality, she can be kind when she wants, but she's also tough and mean and and blunt and doesn't care if she hurts your feelings. she prefers to work alone, but she has a soft spot for people she can see her younger self in - people who are trying to figure out who they are and what their purpose in the world is. i think this is probably why she took in todo and trained him; she saw something in him that reminded her of herself, back when she was desperate for even one other person who understood, and she took on that role of being todo's one person who could understand

anyway this is long already so i'll stop here but. to me, the best yuki is one who shamelessly alive. someone who nearly had her soul taken away from her and now knows how precious it is to be in your own body and make your own choices. she doesn't have time for regret or guilt. she's determined and stubborn. she's powerful, and she isn't afraid to prove it. she's smart, she's strong, she's flawed, and she is herself

OKAY SO FIRST OF ALL you have the characters aka the canon couple (Anakin Skywalker & Padmé Amidala that i think most people know at least from names?) and then you have Rex aka Captain Rex aka Anakin's right hand man during the Clones Wars and LISTEN in general i love their relationship but if you add poly to it??? -chefkiss-

Like listen you have one of the most powerful Jedi, one of the most badass & kindest Senator & one of the best Clones Officer around there, you put them in a room together, and they lost all their braincell and something ends up in fire. There's so much raw chaos in them. They're so competent but they forget everything when you put them together. They just go and cause so many problem, they're probably the reason why Mace Windu decided to stay bald and why Obi-Wan Kenobi ended up grey that young.

Various exemple of their chaotic energy: the very classic "someone is trying to assassinate me so I'm gonna go into the lion's den and almost get killed, i mean i did take my Jedi bodyguard with me after all—" from one Padmé Amidala; "one of my friends got killed so I'm gonna resolve his murder even if it's not my job" from the same Padmé Amidala; "imma gonna crash this ship on the enemies bc why not" by Anakin Skywalker (self-proclamed best pilot of the Galaxy); "imma gonna give my lightsaber to my very secret wife to prove to her how much i love her and oooops there's a hostage situation and i don't have my weapon anymore" by, again, Anakin; "I'm gonna shot point blank at a clone bc he was acting suspicious and I'm not telling anyone and especially not my superior officer why i did that — hey look it was a droid i was right lol" by Rex; "you know what since droids want to pretend they're us I'm gonna pretend I'm a droid in clone armor" by Rex AGAIN; and, obviously, the whole "Padmé & Anakin are married but it's a secret so obviously we're gonna kiss everywhere, give lovesick at each other all the time, acting all lovey-dovey and/or jealous when with each other, to the point that even our enemies know we have something going on", to the "Rex for some reasons knows about their relationship and is trying to cover for them but he's really not any better than them in the art of lying and/or pretending he has no idea what's going on". They're disasters and i love them <3

ALSO Re: the last part, there's a whole scene where 1) Anakin is like "hey Rex come on we have something to do -wink wink wink-" IN FRONT OF SOME OF THEIR MEN 2) Rex is like "srly, rn now??" And Anakin insists and i swear when you watch this scene without context........ so gay 3) Anakin uses Rex's helmet to call Padmé "in secret" (re: they're so bad at keeping it a secret) and Rex is keeping guard 4) while they are talking, and despite the fact that they haven't seen each other in months and haven't been able to talk to each other a lot, Anakin asks advices to Padmé bc he's worried about Rex and wants to help him 4) Padmé knows Rex & the way he think enough to reassure Anakin and she's also worried about Rex but trusts him 5) LISTEN THEY'RE IN LOVE I DON'T MAKE THE RULES.

Anakin/Padmé is pretty much established but it's like,,,, so easy to add Rex to their couple??? Like, ofc Anakin is close with him, he's his most trusted man and his right hand man!! He knows him & cares for him & trusts him everything and everyone he hold dear!!! But also Rex & Padmé bonded in their own way!! Like, mainly, they got infected by a dead virus together and almost died, which, u know, is always a good way to bond with your future wife <3 And they're obviously friends!! And i absolutely believe they team-up to stop Anakin from doing his most stupid ideas lmao (at least when it's not their brand of chaos and thus they enable him ofc).

ALSO there's Ahsoka!!! She's Anakin's Padawan so obviously she's close to him, and bc she goes to war with him she's also close to Rex (and the rest of their men, tbh it always kills me a little how they all care for each other)!! He gives her advices and takes care of her and supports her!!! And they obviously love each other a lot!!! Rex's love for Ahsoka literally saved her life during Order 66 idkdjdj I'm so normal about it. BUT ALSO she's close to Padmé!!! Padmé is her friend!! She follows Padmé on stupid mission she decided to do herself and uses as justification "Anakin told me to stay with her to learn politic :D" kdjdjdjdj anyway she's at the same time their little sister and their kid and i LOVE IT.

Also there's so much angst potential. Like, Rex survived the end of the war but neither did Anakin nor Padmé. Rex didn't know Luke & Leia were their children. He was robbed of his kids' whole life!!! Rex didn't know about Anakin being Darth Vader either!! (He had a suspicion but no real answer.) How do you want me to be normal about it???

And in a Palpatine-slips-on-a-banana-peel-and-dies au, they can just raise the twins together and they would be even more chaotic that they already are in canon <3 but also i think they deserve it. As a treat.

Anyway i love them so much and we're like five out there shipping them but IT'S FINE. MY LIVE WILL NOT DIE.

Oh my god!! That was just great and I loved every second of reading that. Had to reread the post a couple times because I was so excited by the notification. The connections between Bro and The Handmaid you made are phenomenal! That’s exactly why I’m obsessed with them interacting and honestly, Bro interacting with people is kinda funny to me. Their interactions in The Run and Go either make me laugh or pity them. Either way, it’s great. Sometimes I like having fun with them and exchanging conversations about them with a mutual of mine. How much would you say Dirk & Roxy are in their dynamic?

Honestly I have many things to say about Mom and Bro, all the time! They're just so fun! I like writing them in RNG (the run and go) specifically because I love the concept of dealing with After, of dealing with things that came before, but already happened, and can't be prevented, and the guardians just happen to fulfill that desire pretty much to a T!

Warning most of this is just like. Fun headcanon stuff so sorry!

For me, I like to imagine that Bro and Mom knew each other when they were "kids", because it's implied in [I'd rather not talk about Hussie's awful Skaianet lore but it just sits in the back of my mind] that Jake Harley was their benefactor/sponsor, so I always imagine that they grew up separately until they were somewhere between 10 and 13, and then the beta guardians kind of like. Collected them I guess, at least temporarily. They met, became friends, stayed in contact when they separated, and then (once again all fake headcanons) Bro started to become more like how he is now, and after 16 he kinda walked out of Nanna and Grandpa's lives, and Mom became Grandpa's protege (more implied about Hiveswap which isn't entirely canon but sometimes I think about it anyway) . I like to think they still called and maybe emailed (cringes in 90s communication format) and stuff, but Bro was preparing for Dave at this point, and Mom was preparing for Rose. They grew apart, things kept happening u know, as they do, and they just! Stopped talking. Probably mostly Bro's fault lol

Anyway so all that being said, since they are to a point Roxy and Dirk, I think that there maybe have been a time before Bro was cruel, when he was Dirk, was still just a kid who cared a lot about what his friends thought of him, who maybe was a little awkward and only had one fucking friend, in Mom. He's a weird dude, for sure, but Roxy (Mom) likes weird, and they're both very smart, and very funny. I think they would have something in common, in the way that they both had a predestiny, in the way that their lives were already being carved out for them before they even had the chance to decide for themselves (i already said this about bro but it does extend to mom too lol). Much like Roxy and Dirk were the only two people who knew what it was like in a future without humans, I imagine that Bro and Mom probably felt, to a point, that they were the only two people in the world who had the kind of raw fucking deal they were dealt. I imagine they were shitty to each other, in that playful way that two very sarcastic people can be, because I always imagine the guardians as being a little bit sharper around the edges than their kid counterparts, even at the same age.

I think a lot about the fact that aside from being Ectobiological creations, they were still kids, who still grew up in “our” world, who had a bunch of fucking like. Genuine life experience and interaction with the outside world. We often see the homestuck kids as isolated in their own little worlds, for a variety of reasons, but it’s more interesting to me, to think of the guardians as being more connected to the outside world, in part because of the mystery in their upbringing, and also just. 30+ years life on earth!

I don't think Bro is a good enough person to actually stop Mom from drinking, but I imagine it probably "annoyed" him in a way, u know Cal influence etc etc but I do think he'd tolerate her, if only out of a kind of weird obligation mixed with genuine affection he'd probably never admit to. I do think Mom genuinely loved him, and though I headcanon the guardians as always knowing they had an obligation, I think she probably would have been happier, if they had been able to stay together. I like to think of the guardians as the worst reflection of the kids' inner selves, Roxy's addiction, Dirk's tendency towards calculation and manipulation, but they are still people, and it never stops being interesting, the concept of reconnecting with someone who you loved, who you failed, who failed you. Yeah!

Some of my favorite things Dirk has ever said about Roxy, for context, which influences a lot of how I write Bro and Mom's relationship:

I'll give u a few 'cause I'm generous ( And they're my favs. ) Above all, I love that as people they're so different. Their world views are almost polar opposites, and yet . . . perhaps there's things that they have in common, depending on the portrayals of each character. There's room for tonnes of angst, though, imo. For the sake of simplicity, I'll go off of what we know about canon Kayle and mix in a dash of my own ideas which, you're free to pluck from as you see fit should you want to! Plus what I could read from yours.

Let's do something fun and let my STARSET playlist decide on a few ( Vague. ) scenarios for us. They're one of my favorite bands and def have some vibes that fit these two, I'd say.

Few honorable mentions songs that I wanted to include but made the post too long are : SOLSTICE, DIE FOR YOU, ICARUS, OTHERWORLDLY, Telepathic, Dark On Me.

➤ㅤEARTHRISE.

Then I saw you from a distance, you were worlds away — Oh, but you had me from the vision, I never looked away, again . . .

A first meeting between Aspects. I strongly headcanon that the Aspects and their hosts can sense each other, like a truly magnetic pull or push kind of feeling when they draw near one another. Whether it's the former or the latter depends on the dynamic the Aspects have, so for example, the Sun and Moon have both ; there is a strong pull towards each other and yet they push apart like magnets at times.

Whether Kayle and Leona would feel a push or a pull when near each other, especially the first time, depends on Justice and Sun's standing at that time — but what if they were good? What if they were great?

What if they were drawn to each other from the get go? Would they give in to the feeling, or would they fight it thinking it was strange or refuse to let an outside force decide their course of action?

They said that we both were too different, that all of the shine would fade away. But I wish that I never listened, 'cause you pulled me through the grey . . .

This might be angsty but hear me out. Because their view points are so different, what if they fell apart as quickly as they collided? But because they are drawn to each other, they keep repeating this cycle of breaking up and making up?

Or, their duties lead them to different places where the other can't go. Maybe physically, maybe emotionally or mentally. They keep going without each other for extended periods of time because they both put their duties first, but they can't help but seek each other out when there's a window to do so.

What if Leona can't condone what Kayle does, or Kayle can't see past Leona's soft heart — her forgiveness even of those who wronged her?

I can see you running, running, every night from the same darkness. It's coming, coming, but you are not alone . . .

What if Kayle struggles with a few things. What if her faith in herself and what she does wavers? What if she has to deal punishment to a particularly heartbreaking case? What if doubts about what happened with her sister creep in?

Leona would be there. She would help Kayle back on her feet, even if that that means casting aside her own thoughts and feelings on the matter to support her. To help her be the person she needs to be. But she would always support her, be the voice of reason or the one who takes hold of her hand and tells her it'll be okay. They don't even have to have anything much going on — Leona would do this out of the goodness of her own heart . . .

Send out the signal and I'll fly low, if it means the death of me, I won't let go. And if I'm lost in the world's shadows, I'll use the light that comes to me from your halo, your halo . . .

. . . And maybe Kayle struggles with that, too. The fact that Leona just wants what's best for her, and the fact that she never asked her to care as much as she does. Maybe she struggles to understand why. Maybe she'd try to repay her by doing something for her in turn, or maybe she'd even descend from the skies should Leona find herself in grave peril.

Maybe, I don't know, Kayle would struggle to understand why she herself cares so much? Maybe a mid life crisis is inbound? Or maybe she's fine with the fact. Who knows.

What matters is that in the end of the day, they somehow have each other's backs. They're capable in their own rights, but knowing that someone else would take a blow for you should the need arise? Chefs kiss.

➤ㅤSATELLITE.

Far across the emptiness I walk the night, and search the silence in the dark you left behind. I seek the stars above the world to be the guides, but they all pale against the light in your eyes . . .

And what if they are parted? Kayle taking the mantle after her mother, or some other duty binds her to leave Leona perhaps for good. Perhaps they just managed to form a strong bond when one of them gets called away, or fate spins its wheel and pushes them apart. Maybe one of them is lost somewhere. Maybe they're both lost, without each other.

Having tasted what it's like to love, to really care, perhaps even to sacrifice a part of yourself in order to be with that person, to surrender oneself. All of these things leaving them both yearning . . .

And I won't suppose to know why you walked away, but I can feel you pushing through beyond the space. To send your energy to me and I'll push through, send your signal home and bring me back to you . . .

. . . And feeling that pull once more, as the other draws close. It's just a brief moment, at first. But the sensation returns, and stays a little longer each time. They reunite, either the way they left each other, or different — maybe one of them has changed in some way, or both of them. In any case. Their reunion would surely be powerful.

Maybe they thought they'd lost the other forever, that they were dead or had left them. But in that moment when they lock eyes once more and they just know that their bond is unbroken? That's powerful.

Dabi holding all your Gojo feels vs Hawks, who is vaguely Gojo like in canon (they also have the same voice actor) + the clusterfuck that is DabiHawks together in canon is some comedy 😂 I desperately need to know what you think of the Hero Public Safety Commission, we call them the HPSC for short and they don't show up too often in canon, it kinda goes over most anime-watcher's heads that They Exist, they're so background. Which is sooooo funny, because they're a bit like the JJK Higher-Ups.

(Continue 2) Forgive my errors, it's been a hot minute since I read JJK. But the kids (or at least Yuuji and Nobara up to the last arc I read) are all innocently unaware of the Higher-Ups, while Gojo and the Teachers are Intimately Aware, with Gojo having the most dealings with them right? Yeah, that's BNHA. The HPSC is run by old folks, they're a bit of a shadow organization, even seen in the shadows in the spin-off. The difference begins in that there's parts to them, like the police force.

(Continue 3) License Exams, paperwork and organizing, PR events. So while some of their employees may be seen in the light, the higher ranking members and gross old Presidents are much darker. For the last idk, 150 years? it's been a long time, that they've been in power, they've been having a fun time executing people. I know, wild right? Even got the students involved in stuff they shouldn't be in without telling anyone the real reason behind it! Though the teachers suspected.

(Continue 4) Allowed for, demanded even, civilian casualties and ignoring crimes, luckily Hawks went "fuck that." He's their most valuable asset. Everyone would be fucked without him, he's too OP and does a lot of work. If the fics are writing game nights and death threats, they aren't showing how stressful and wild his infiltration really was if you think about the implications. Not someone the HPSC wants turning on them and getting killed by. (They know it's possible, it's happened before.)

(Continue 5) Gojo 🤝 Hawks (people or fans thinking you're an arrogant, always happy loser, reality is you have morals and can be serious.) They both also like sweets! If you ever get into the show, I recommend reading the manga from chapter 184, that's the last two episodes of season 4. You can watch alongside the anime too of course for the battle animation and voice acting! It's just that's the "turning point" of the series, Hawks' debut and where the villains start to become more prominent.

(Continue 6) And unfortunately, where the anime decides to cut corners/panels/lines. Anime Aizawa is always flawless, but Dabi and Hawks are a pain in the ass, only official translation can capture the nuance. Since manga is still images, u can rly pause to think. They're two clever bastards hiding behind snark, personality masks, and careful words. Dabi got his reveal, but the true insanity of Hawks' life is still publicly hidden + spread across spin-offs, so I'd love to share if ur ok with it!

okay so re Dabi holding all of my Gojo feels it's kind of..... there is a Middle Man as to why Dabi got that in my head not Hawks and that Middle Man is me; specifically, my tragic backstory is exactly My Father Decided To Raise Me Super Harshly To Be Just Like Him Follow In His Footsteps And Surpass Him and, like, while he was even less interested in my younger siblings than me defs got discarded in early teenage years, so, like, Dabi would get all the me feels except my reaction to that was 'WELL I AM GOING TO BE THE BEST AND STRONGEST FOR ME AND ALSO I GUESS BC BECOMING A MATH PROFESSOR IS ABOUT TEACHING, TEACH ALL THE CHILDREN' so like.... hopping over from 'Gojo is the best' to BNHA and Dabi was the 'oh heyyyyy character with the other half of my tragic backstory instead of the 'I'm not prideful enough to say I'm The Best In The World At Math but I'm pretty damn good and I'm a teacher and good at martial arts and slightly fucked up in the head bc I was told all throughout my childhood that I was really talented' half of the backstory'

okay that's WILD re the HPSC, I think it's bc I've only read fics where everyone knows Hawks's backstory but I was convinced that the HPSC was almost a known big bad of the setting given that, like, 'all but bought as a child raised in hell to be crafted into the perfect hero' I'm p sure is in fact Hawks's backstory?

that's REALLY funny about Hawks being OP; his abilities are really versatile and up there but honestly seemed kind of standard in-setting and I was mildly assuming weren't that out there, but that's great and I love it, I live for OP characters

I love everyone who's into Steddy Hands but ALSO so many people are saying Stede/Izzys dynamic should be tolerating each other for Eds sake and doing threesomes but having no real love for each other and NO. NO my fics can't end like that. You don't understand.

They have one of the most interesting dynamics in the show. I'd put it right up there with Ed/Izzys, Ed/Stedes dynamic (hence this ship appealing to me so much) because like. Okay so first you've got their canon interactions:

Okay and yes obvs it's funny imagining them having to put up with each other for Ed BUT this dynamic??? It's ripe for some enemies to lovers. I mean. They're like. Weirdly obsessed with one another and HATE one another IMMEDIATELY - Blackbeards not in the picture yet and Izzy is CUTTING UP STEDES TOP TO MAKE HIS BOOBIES LOOK ALL SLUTTY. Hes lying to Ed about him for...what reason? Ed doesn't care about stede at this point. It's literally just bizzare random immediate grudge.

And it's so much funner and compelling to me to watch them go from THIS to bickering but dealing with one another for Eds sake to OH MY fucking god I think I'm in love with that TWAT. Like. I just want them to get to that point. That's what I want.

I want someone to insult Stede and Izzy to punch them out and he's like...fuck. FUCK. shit. I actually cared that he was being shat on. Fuck.

I want Stede to be making tea and he realises he knows exactly how Izzy takes it and he has a lil breakdown because oh my god I know what that bastard likes to drink holy shit that's basically a love language.

I want Stede to be like 'this is Edward 🥰 the love of my life and... *sigh* this is Izzy...also the love of my life 😤💖'

I want Izzy to be like 'yes Captain' to Stede and then realise shit does he RESPECT this guy now what the fuck?

In Friendships

He's that friend who messages people out of the blue to check up on them. Like it's been a week since he's heard anything from Cress and that's not normal. Five seconds later he's sending her a reeeeeeeally long text asking if she's okay.

He created a gc with the rest of the crew (excluding Thorne) where they just send random pictures of Thorne doing weird shit.

Is the only person other than Winter and Cinder who has gotten Jacin to genuinely laugh. Spoiler alert, it's because he had the sassiest comeback when President Vargas was being a dick.

Because he's rich--literal emperor--he'll randomly buy gifts for his friends and really anyone he cares about. The other day he bought Winter a really cool sewing kit where all the needles were glittery (but wouldn't get glitter on whatever she's making). And it doesn't even have to be expensive things. He noticed that Scarlet complains about losing hairbands and makes a habit of sending her a pack once a month. Little things like that. He's a giver.

Despite the fact that he likes buying his friends presents, his love language is actually quality time. It's very hard for him to be able to carve out time for others, but that's what he does to show his friends and family he cares about them.

As the Emperor

Goes down as the most beloved emperor in the history of the Eastern Commonwealth. Yall can fight me on this. Because just in canon he's helped to end an international war and plague. NOT TO MENTION the fact that he tried to do this single-handedly (before being kidnapped by Cinder and joining them) by marrying Levana. Did he want to marry her? No! Nor did his people want him to, but he put the good of the nation above his own wants and needs when he was only 18 fucking years old! I could go on and on about this, but I'll stop with this point now...

now post canon Kai? A fucking god, okay?? Let's be honest, Cinder opened his eyes to a lot of problems he didn't know existed before. Kai passes bill after bill after bill reforming cyborg rights.

Hearing about stuff Cinder experienced also got him invested in making sure that foster kids, wards, etc were being better-taken care of. Passes laws protecting children in those situations, doing his best to make sure they're not taken advantage of, abused, used for labor, and so on.

Kai frequently goes out in disguise with Cinder so that they can get a sense of public opinion. It's one thing to read reports and statistics, it's another thing to see those experiences, to witness the needs of his people with his own eyes. As more and more people are getting BSBs implanted, more people notice him on the streets. In New Beijing there becomes this unwritten rule that if you see the emperor and empress wandering around without security and/or in "disguise," you're supposed to pretend that you don't know who they are.

When it comes to his public persona, he's viewed as extremely charismatic I mean, come on, he's prince charming and kind. He's sort of like Obama. No matter where you are on the political spectrum, citizens can admire him because of how well spoken he is.

However, it's well known that he will not stand for bigotry, racism, etc. If someone behaves that way in front of him--whether they're a dignitary, diplomat, reporter, or citizen--he will either shut them down or put them in their place (like I had him do in part 2 of WotE). People know not to fuck with him.

As a Husband

He's also the best husband ever, let's be real here. He's patient and kind, but also willing to have harder conversations when the time calls for it.

We all know how the proposal scene went, but this got me wondering... how long do we think he's been holding onto that ring? SOSN happens about 2 years post Winter, and, knowing what a romantic Kai is, he's probably been holding onto that ring for a good year. He was just patiently waiting for 1) Cinder to be ready 2) her to abdicate and 3) Luna to be well enough off that Cinder didn't have to be there constantly supervising the transition into a republic.

Anyway, onto how he actually is as a husband...

When he can't find Cinder in their suite, the first place he looks for her is the palace garage. Nine times out of 10, that's where she is. If she isn't there, she's either out in the gardens or in her office. Sometimes he'll just stand there and quietly watch her work for a little while. She knows he's there, but never says anything.

Though they're both busy with royal duties, Kai makes a point to carve out at least one night a week where they can just spend time together without any distractions, whether it's sneaking out to roam the city, have dinner together on the balcony, watch a movie on a big sheet hung up between trees in the gardens, etc etc. Unless there's a national emergency that needs immediate attention, no one, not even Iko, is allowed to disturb them for those few hours.

He makes a point to kiss Cinder's metal limbs all the time. Every chance he gets.

He sits on Cinder's lap while they read over documents/laws/bills together. You can fight me on this too. I will die on this hill.

As a Father (In my second gen universe Kaider has two kids so I'm sort of going off that for these hcs)

The most doting father. Will spoil his children rotten while also making sure to raise them to be the best possible versions of themselves.

He and Cinder always tuck their kids into bed. It doesn't matter if they're in the middle of a ball or an important dinner party. They will both drop everything to read a story and then tuck their kids into bed. Even when he's halfway around the world for something, he'll wake up at three am to call Cinder so they can tuck the kids in together.

Kai will take his kids out on father-child dates all the time when they get old enough (around 5-6). Sometimes these father-child dates are with both of the kids and sometimes it's only with one. If it's with one, he makes sure that the other child has alone time with him sometime soon too. As the kids get older and busier, it's harder and harder to do, but it's a tradition that still continues when they're adults. It's only a couple times a year, but he and his children make the time for it.

When they're teens... they have snark wars. Who can politely say the best insult. Cinder is the judge. Winner gets to pick what they watch for family movie night. Kai wins almost every time for the first year, but the first time one of them beats him, he cries tears of joy and hugs them so tight they can barely breathe. "My baby is all grown up! I don't have anything left to teach you." "Dad... I'm fourteen and the heir to the throne. You have a lot to teach me still."

after the initial awkwardness of being in a new relationship fades and you two become comfortable with each other, a relationship with isagi would be like dating your slightly awkward best friend who you make out with sometimes.

like, i don’t really see isagi being high maintenance, so i feel like a relationship with him would definitely be on the relaxed side, but still romantic, you know?

isagi’s inner monologue is so funny and he definitely lets his thoughts out to you. it makes you laugh to see your usually friendly-to-all boyfriend have his moments, too.

you guys are one of those couples that give each other a look when someone’s doing something weird in public #telepathicconnection <3

but, isagi’s really such a sweetie with you. i know user isagisyoichi may be slightly biased when they say this, but believe me when i say that isagi’s 100% boyfriend material.

walks you to class whenever he can. always either holding your hand as he listens attentively to you complaining about school.

writes down things he feels are important about you in a digital note entitled “y/n 💗,” so he can remember them in the future.

isagi's used to talking to all kinds of people, so even if you're not the most talkative, he can adjust with no problem.

and he’ll always entertain you about whatever stupid conversation you wanna have.

kinda basic with pet names. babe, baby, dork (he would, i don’t wanna hear it), are his usual rotation.

randomly compliments you/says these really romantic things out of nowhere because he can’t control himself and often blurts things out.

“yeah, of course, when we get married, i’ll-”

“when we get married?” you inquire as you cut isagi off. you two have never discussed marriage, just but the thought of isagi wanting to spend the rest of his life with you is enough to make your head spin.

isagi’s eyes go wide when he realizes what he’s said. damn his mouth that moves faster than his mind.

swallowing hard and taking a breath, isagi says, “y-yeah, when we get married,” further affirming his statement with a nod, albeit a bit of a nervous one.

now both of you guys are flustered LOL.

likes to sit his head in your lap and have you play with his hair, while you two talk or just sit in silence.

such a good listener, perfect person to rant about anything with. he’s very understanding, he’ll hold you if you need him to, wipe your tears if you’re crying, give you advice if you need it, just overall so sweet.

also always knows when you're sad because of his intuition. isagi encourages you to open up to him, but ultimately doesn’t force you, just lets you know that he’s always there for you <3

(that's kind of lie because isagi does pry a little LOL, but he means well)

takes care of you! nags you a little, tries his best to make sure you're not doing anything stupid, and if you are, that someone responsible (him) is watching you, looks after you when you’re sick, etc.

gives you his jacket when you’re cold (he’s been waiting to do that his whole life bro LMAOO), carries your things, always texts you good morning and good night, just overall sooo good to you.

but as soft as he is for you, isagi does have this tendency to get these random spouts of confidence, so sometimes he’ll say or do something really bold out of nowhere.

like, he’ll suddenly grab your waist and pull you closer to him, or he’ll kiss you out of the blue. the flustered expression that rests on your face for a change always makes him smirk *heart eyes*

in general, though, isagi's still kind of awkward sometimes regardless and does say or do things that make you go "???" and make him be like "why did i do that" LOL he's so cute though <333

he’s pretty basic with dates, usually opts for things like restaurants, walks in the parks, movie nights, or stuff like that, but they’re still really fun!

but, if you ever want to do something out of the norm, he wouldn't be opposed to it, either. but, you do have to tell him ‘cause he's not a mind reader lol.

(okay but, one time, isagi tried to watch a scary movie with you because he wanted to do that thing where he wraps his arm around you during the scary parts, but HE ended up being scared instead 😭)

study sessions are normal between you two but, you guys always get bored or distracted halfway through and start watching youtube or something LOL.

it’s canon he’s a thigh man lol, so if he ever sees you wearing an oversized shirt, especially one of his, with shorts, isagi will literally short circuit in real life.

he keeps his hand on your thigh when you guys cuddle that day, tracing patterns on your skin, or just squeezing it every now and then.

in general, though, isagi likes poking at and playing with them whenever they're out <3

once, isagi wanted you to do that trend on tiktok where he sits between your thighs and stuff, but he had no idea how to bring it up LOL

so, isagi just watched tiktoks of it in front of you and hoped eventually you would get the hint 🙄

and you did, thanks to his incredible lack of subtly. he doesn’t even care when you giggle and tell him how bad he is at being slick, isagi got your thighs around him, he won!!!!!!

isagi one hundred percent attempts to get you to run the mile with him during gym if you don’t already.

“babe, just try!” isagi pants, as he catches up to you and your friends, as you guys are still on your second lap.

admittedly, the effort is cute, but beloved, i hate to break it to you- i will not be doing anything of the sort.

he will sit down or walk around with you after you finish the mile, though. if he’s not already playing soccer lollll.

when he does choose to go with you, expect exclamations from the team about how isagi “abandoned us for his little relationship” 👎

isagi’s receiving love language is words of affirmation (also basically canon LOL) so, he really values the compliments you give him with his whole heart.

you could tell him how his hair looks nice in the morning, and isagi will think about it all day.

whether it be about how cute he is, or how talented of a player he is, isagi really is happiest when you praise him <3

speaking of soccer, isagi has this tendency to get lost in the moment and talk your head off about some soccer related tangent that probably makes no sense to you.

his eyes light up and his voice is just oozing with passion for what he does as he goes into detail about how he made this crazy goal at practice while you stare at him with the biggest heart eyes ever, adoring his dedication.

and of course when isagi realizes he was rambling, he apologizes profusely for “boring” you, like the gentleman he is.

but when you reassure him that he could never bore you and that you want nothing more than for him to go on, isagi begins to feels lightheaded due to his adoration for you <3

if you're the type to go all out when it supporting isagi at soccer- like make one of those corny signs, yell from the crowd, wear his spare jersey to games, isagi will physically have to withhold his heart from jumping out his chest.

he's a little embarrassed that you're doing all that for him, but the effort means soooo much to him.

and speaking of soccer, it would mean a lot to isagi if you not only supported him at games and stuff, but expressed an interest in learning more about soccer as a whole, too.

you know, learn a little more about the game on your own accord, ask him to teach you how to properly play, or even challenge him to a one on one, do stuff like that, and he’ll literally be head over heels for you. well, more than he already is.

(he always goes easy on you on your guys 1v1's and he thinks your efforts are adorable, no matter how much you may or may not suck)

he'd repay the effort and try to get interested in whatever your hobbies are!

also, you can get him to do almost anything if you pout and beg hard enough, you’re literally so hard to say no to in isagi’s eyes <3

isagi’s the type to not realize when other people are flirting with him LOL

he just thinks they’re being nice (unless they’re being straight up) and i don’t think he would really process it because he’s so focused on you romantically, if that makes sense.

once he realizes you’re jealous, isagi apologizes earnestly, reassuring you over and over again that you're everything he could ask for and that he would never intentionally try to hurt you and all that jazz.

although, i will admit, sometimes isagi’s kinda smug when you're jealous, especially when it’s over a dumb reason 👎

however, when he’s jealous i feel like it could go one of two ways-

on normal days, isagi would just stand there to “intimidate” the other person, maybe cough a little for emphasis until they go away lol.

but on days where he’s already mad/filled with adrenaline/or someone’s really not taking a hint and you’re visibly uncomfortable- oh boy, it’s like a switch flips in him.

has those same fiery eyes he has during the climax of a game. the energy he’s exuding is dead serious, and that alone is enough for the person bothering you to go away. not bad for a man that’s only 5’8 🥰

adding on, isagi doesn’t take any shit about you, ever. even if it’s from his friends. usually isagi’s very neutral and doesn’t actively try to start conflict, but there are some things he’ll always defend and you’re one of them.

isagi always listens/watches/reads/etc whatever you recommend him (on that note, please recommend him good anime because isagi’s out here willingly telling people his favorite anime is darling in the franxx), even if he doesn’t necessarily like it LOL

you could show isagi objectively, the worst song ever and he would be like “yeah, it was good babe!” (it was not)

also does the same thing when you bring him shopping with you, like he's absolutely NO HELP 😭

you could try on the ugliest sweater known to man and he’d like “you look nice 🙂” pls be honest isagi, you can say it’s hideous!!!!!!

but isagi’s also being somewhat truthful in his statement because he does genuinely think you look nice in everything <3

also loves when you wear his clothes- always feels a mixture between pride and slight shyness?

kinda lol idk but overall, isagi really is sooo happy you wanna show him off that much, especially when you're wearing something of his around his friends :')

he says “i love you” first, no doubt.

he’s a bit nervous when he does because he doesn’t know if you’ll reciprocate, but he really does love you and he feels like he physically can’t hold it in anymore.

Jiang Cheng, “I doubt you’ll even return all of them. Why do you care what kind of end they meet? A dead end it is, then—what does it have to do with you?!”
