You gasp

"what is happening here" you watch with your favourite sketch book burning.

"ohhh dear dear, my hand slipped" you heard a very annoying voice.

You silently pick your half burnt sketch book and glare at the bunch of dumb heads who bully you.

Bulling wasn't new for you. You were bullied all along your school life. Even now in your workplace.

And suddenly one day you found yourself not wanting to go to work. You were tired of fighting with the bullies, after a week of thinking about your detroiting mental health you decided to give your resignation letter and live your life.

3 months later

The bells jingle indicating above your head as your enter your safe place, the art shop. The smell of panits and canvas lingering in the air.

You took everything you needed but the last thing that was missing was red paint. You went to the paint corner to find a single tube of big red paint lying on the top shelf.

You run towards the shelf trying to reach the tube, you felt warmth on your back and a very veiny hand reaching the tube. You turn to see a tall man with his face covered by hoodie. All you could see was looming dark shadow.

"umm can I take that" you muttered pointing out the red tube.

The hooded man took a sharp breath which sacred you thinking that you could have made him angry

"ummm, I'm sorry. It's okay, it's okay I'll find the paint in another store" I laughed akwardly.

He suddenly held my hand and handed me the tube.

I tilt my head "can I take it?" I question softly

He nods his head once and that was enough to make me smile for once in last three months.

I bowed, thanking him and left the shop after billing.

Heeseung

He watches you walking to your apartment. Heeseung quickly reach to his room and watching you through the window, exactly opposite of your apartment He watchs you twirl around in your space happily.

That's all heeseung has done.

Watch.

All he has done is watching you from afar. He wishes to kiss you, hold you into his arms, cook for you, buy you paint and watch you paint for hours. But all he has done is watch you from afar.

*distant muffling sounds*

"ahh" he sighs. "I totally forgot about you" he turns around and pulls out a sword hanging on the wall. He unsheaths the sword and the dried blood covering the entire sword.

He watches the girls who bullied you tied up with their mouth stiched witch thick red wire. Blood flowing from their mouths as they cry.

"let's see.... What do i add in my collection now...." He swirls the sword.

"your blood" heeseung laughs like a maniac after killing the three girls.

He collects the blood in a long tube.

As he walks to the window blood pooling in his room. He orders the men standing beside the door to clean and dispose the bodies

He closes the cap and watches you paint the canvas red from his window.

"maybe I'll gift it to you someday. My little one."

Idk how to actually feel about this. I'm still thinking about what twist to make in this series.

A new day a new me 😂

A very small ask. Just to satisfy my curiosity. In Simpson's chapter, an Admiral Halsey pops up very briefly. Is this a nod to "Bull" Halsey or just random dude with random name?

Both.

Also a reference to one of my most favorite Ice/Mav/Bradley songs which is "Uncle Albert / Admiral Halsey" by Paul & Linda McCartney. And I believe THAT song is a reference to Bull Halsey.

I've been reading a lot of self-entitled people saying really inadmissible stuff about halsey. While I believe we MUST write to express ourselves freely, there are limits. Those limits are in the moment you starts pushing, punishing, mistreating or disrespecting someone else.

You HAVE to express your sadness, your disappointment, your rage, your helplessness. You HAVE to listen to them and you HAVE to be real with them. BUT you do not have the right to go and make someone else responsible for it. And you have EVEN LESS RIGHTS to make them the bulls eye of all those feelings. Your feelings are your guidance, to talk to you, to show you. Not to create villains and saints.

With that been said: Yo do have the right to express why you felt let down by one of your favourite artists. Once you've done that, you go and listen to those feelings and understand that your parasocial relationship with this person NEEDS to either (a) change or (b) disappear. Whether you like it or not, everything has an ending and, maybe, this is yours with Halsey. And that is fine. It'll hurt, but that's the right thing to do and that's the only thing that matters.

What I do not understand is that tiny part of people who are, so called, promental health advocates and feel entitled to go to someone else and punish them and spam them for not speaking out about something important, specially after this person coming out and explaining why, without even trying to make excuses about it. Even after this person let us know that, even if they're not being vocal, they're definitely helping out.

There are limits, ladies, gentlemen and my nonbinary hoes, and we must respect them. Each one of us is a whole human being. We've got a life on our own, our problems, our duties, our fears, our limits. We're more than just what you feel or think we might be. That is why, respecting boundaries and limits is our basic obligation towards the way we interact with our surrounding. We live in a pretty fucked up world that's going to become even more fucked up. I can't even start to understand why I need to make that clear when it is, literally, our day to day life basis. It is something we already know yet, we're even further and further for treating each other with a bare minimum of humanity and respect.

Stay by or leave Halsey, be real with yourselves above anything else. But respect limits.

Billy's Family History

When I was about 9 years old, we visited my uncle Sam on his farm in North Carolina. He had pigs and cows and chickens for us to pet, chase, throw cow pies at, and later, to eat.

But his farm also grew tobacco.

I remember sitting with our cousins on a railing in a big barn watching the hanging of 16 inch tobacco leaves to cure. Of course uncle Sam enlisted us to 'help' with the hanging.

I don't have a great sense of smell these days but I can close my eyes and my mind can easily recall the warm humid wonderful aroma of those aging tobacco leaves.

As unverified family history was told to me, uncle Sam served in the Navy during World War II and was on board the U.S.S. Missouri in Tokyo Bay on the 2nd of September, 1945 when the Japanese unconditionally surrendered and the world stopped fighting and the lights came on again.

In the third volume of a history of the U.S. Army's campaign across the Pacific in WWII(*) is a description of the surrender and the details of the meticulously choreographed ceremony which was micromanaged down to the minute. The crew of the Missouri was drilled over and over to ensure everything went perfectly.

Besides the crew, hundreds of people were aboard for the surrender, including teams of representatives from China, United Kingdom, USSR, Australia, Canada, France, Netherlands and New Zealand.

Oh yeah, and lot's of American generals and admirals.

Also aboard were 225 reporters and 75 photographers. Everyone arrived at an individually scripted time and were escorted to their exact, marked spots.

Hundreds of U.S. warships - battleships, cruisers, destroyers, aircraft carriers - with flags and bunting flapping in the wind were proudly at anchor in Tokyo Bay.

Japanese Foreign Minister Mamoru Shigemitsu and General Yoshijiro Umezu representing Emperor Hirohito arrived at the appointed minute to sign the surrender documents.

Before the ceremony, Admiral "Bull" Halsey escorted General Douglas MacArthur to his cabin and offered coffee. MacArthur declined as his stomach was churning in nervous anticipation of the speech he was about to give commemorating one of the most historic moments in human history.

MacArthur's close aid Roger Egebery mused later, "He was getting taut and I thought he wanted to be alone".

MacArthur retired into Admiral Halsey's private restroom where he was heard loudly puking. After emptying his stomach, MacArthur returned to the deck at 0856 just as the Japanese delegation arrived.

The ceremony, including MacArthur's speech, took only 23 minutes.

Another attendee, General Joseph 'Vinegar Joe' Stilwell, had a slightly different reaction to this momentous, world defining moment.

This was the end of years of global warfare, millions upon millions of deaths, millions of innocents displaced from their homes never to return, families torn apart, countries destroyed, global alliances made and then unmade and a shift in global politics that has endured for generations.

A partly sunny day witnessed all this pomp and ceremony taking place on the deck of the U.S.S. Missouri in the middle of hundreds of ships and a world hanging on the events of the next few minutes.

Later that night General Stilwell penned into his diary: "I took a crap & then went on deck".

As the wise Kung Fu Master Oogway might say to Po, "This is your history grasshopper. It ain't all boring Bro."

Abandoned

On January 31, 1943, Navy Lieutenant (LT) Charles Wang checked into the hospital at Mare Island Naval Shipyard. His journey to the hospital had been epic as he joined the flood of World War II casualties to be treated at the hospital since the Pearl Harbor casualties arrived on Christmas Day two years before. Lt. Wang’s stay in hospitals stretched out to two years and 30 operations as doctors struggled to repair the damage that a plummeting radar antenna and 6 days of exposure had done to his mangled leg. By all rights, Lieutenant Wang should have been dead, but luck and two sailors had collaborated to save his life.

In the pitch black of night on Friday the 13th of November 1942, Lt. Wang with two other officers, were in charge of Gun Control 2 and had survived unscathed an epic naval battle in Iron Bottom Sound off Guadalcanal. US forces had captured a Japanese airfield on the island of Guadalcanal and in a desperate gamble Japanese Admiral Yamato was throwing everything he had at the US troops to dislodge them. The Americans had broken the Japanese codes and knew that the Japanese were coming. Forty-eight ships, including battleships, heavy cruisers, light cruisers and destroyers were coming through a narrow feature known as the slot intent on pummeling the US troops on Guadalcanal and destroying any warships they might encounter.

Steaming towards the Japanese fleet was a much smaller US fleet that Admiral Bull Halsey had hastily assembled to counter the Japanese move. The US fleet was outgunned and consisted of only two heavy cruisers, two light cruisers and eight destroyers. As the two fleets approached each other the Japanese searchlights suddenly lit up at about two in the morning. All hell broke loose as both sides opened on the other. By morning the two fleets were limping apart. While the Japanese had suffered heavy losses they had scored a tactical victory. Only six ships of the American fleet had survived and except for one destroyer all the remaining ships were heavily damaged. Lt. Wang’s light cruiser the USS Juneau (CL-52) was struggling back to the US base at Espiritu Santo 600 miles away. Lt. Wang survived the battle with no injuries, but the same was not true for his ship and shipmates both of which had been decimated.

The Juneau was built to provide anti-aircraft fire to protect carriers and was never expected to slug it out in a surface engagement. Juneau was riddled with gunfire and a Japanese torpedo had struck her forward boiler room killing everyone in it. Her mess hall had been converted to a sick bay during the battle and suffered a direct hit that reduced it to twisted metal and body parts. Juneau was down at the bow as she limped along on one engine while being steered from a jury-rigged apparatus at the rudder post. As Lt. Wang gazed across the water to the heavy cruiser USS San Francisco (CA-38) he was looking at a similar mess. Her topsides had been struck numerous times leaving a jangle of twisted metal. Her crew had suffered hundreds of casualties, and her bridge was gone because of nearly the entire Japanese fleet focusing on her. Lt. Wang was not the only person looking at the San Francisco.

Staring through his periscope Commander Yokota of the Japanese submarine I-26 fired two torpedoes at the San Francisco. Those torpedoes missed their intended target streaking across her bow. One of the torpedoes found a different victim. Unseen until seconds before impact, that torpedo slammed into Juneau’s magazine. In a massive explosion the huge ship was blown in two and ceased to exist. As the hull sections slipped beneath the waves the ship's radar antenna came hurtling down and broke Lt. Wang’s right leg before he was dragged underwater. Lt. Wang survived the suction of the sinking and ended up on an improvised raft with about 140 survivors most of whom were also badly wounded.

As the men struggled to survive, they were stunned to see the entire fleet sail away. The fleet commander had reasoned that no one could have survived the massive explosion, and it was too dangerous to stay in the area with a Japanese submarine lurking. The men’s injuries, sharks, exposure and lack of fresh water now began whittling away at the survivors. Lt. Wang was in such bad shape that two men determined to set off with him in a raft to a nearby island to seek help. They reached the island 6 days after the sinking, dehydrated, sunburned and starving. Found by natives they were eventually rescued, and Lt. Wang was brought to Mare Island for treatment.

Lt. Wang and his companions were shocked to learn that of original 140 survivors, only 10 men were still alive. Included in the dead were the now famous five Sullivan brothers who had fought hard to serve together on the same ship despite Navy policy against such a practice. Lt. Wang’s war was over as his stay in hospitals stretched out for two years and 30 operations as doctors struggled to repair the damage that the plummeting radar antenna and 6 days of exposure had done to his mangled leg. He returned home to Philadelphia, married, and earned his medical degree, perhaps influenced by his experiences at the Mare Island hospital.
