Pods and Monsters
I taped a podcast with Jesse Thorn last week. It was really fun. He invited me to come up to his place. This was a fantastically nice gesture. It was something he didn't need to do, but he did and it made everything better.
I taped another podcast yesterday with Josh Forbes. Josh will be co-hosting some, so I thought it good to spend some time catching up. Next week Matt Dwyer will stop by the BuckLair. Others will follow. I suppose. I hope. I think.
Now that I am sort of getting a handle on things, I'm really digging the podcast. It's an intimate format. You, me, I, we, the speaker are all up inside the head of the listener. As the podcast grows, we'll probably add an element or two. We'll see. Time will tell.
I will, in the next day or so, be writing some over at The Outside Corner. I will still be writing here, but the writing will be more narrative, more old and weird America stuffs. Baseball mostly. The Outside Corner will be a little more analysis. They're doing cool things.

Headcanons about Ronance being the big sisters and gay mentors of Elmax, please?

Ronance big sisters/gay mentors for elmax headcanons :
Whenever they have an acclaimed girls night at the Wheelers, Robin always makes sure to make El a waffle extravaganza!!
Nancy always makes sure to give El a ride to visit Max in the hospital, and post coma has Max stay at her house for awhile after her trailer was destroyed, (which makes for a funny Max & Mike sibling dynamic)
Max try’s to teach Robin how to skate board, to which ends up with Max cleaning Robins wounds because she eats shit after one second of being on it.
Nancy teaches El how to do make up in different ways, and how to style her hair in different ways
They have different fashion show days we’re depending on the day they get to pick and outfit for a different person, so El might pick an outfit for Robin who might pick one for max who might pick one for Nancy who might pick out one for El
Any time Mike gets annoyed about them wanting to use the basement they all hang up on him 😭😭
Whenever Max and El get into an argument they both go to both Nancy AND Robin so then ronance is just like 🧍♀️🧍♀️
Max and El feel safe and comfortable exploring both her femininity and masculinity when with Nancy and Robin, who help the explore new things and explain how they found balance in their own lives
Max gets her license before Robin does to which the party finds quite amusing
El will help Nancy when she has a lead on a story, by finding where they are and ease dropping, rest assure they are always corrupt and evil people, to which Nancy only uses when confronting them to scare them into thinking she knows a lot and has proof (even if she does or doesn’t)
Robin gives Max and El free movies, but whenever it’s Max who comes in she always teases her saying “got a movie date?” And always gives Max’s the most cheesy romance movies (but El always loves them)

i was tagged by @monsterhunting, thank you!! i haven't done one of these in so long i've missed them so much.
rules: search your WIPs for the words you're given and share the extract they're from.
the words i was given are: lean, stare, change, pull, and trust.
lean, from my ronance smut wip (i'd suffer hell if you'd tell me)
“I got some movies for us to watch,” Robin says as she leads her upstairs.
“Movies,” she says, trying very hard not to let her voice crack.
She can work with movies. Robin’ll put some movie on, and Nancy can wait until she’s engrossed in it to start kissing her neck, or maybe she’ll lean over innocently and rest a hand on Robin’s thigh…

Carol gapes at her. Buckley’s not even looking at her. She can see her eyes flicking across the page.
Before she really thinks about it, she’s snatching the book out of Buckley’s hands and tossing it. It sails through the air, landing with a whoomf on the ground behind her.
The two of them stare at it for a moment without speaking, and then Buckley’s head swivels towards her. Her eyebrow is raised.

He kisses her back clumsily, letting her take the lead, and all the while two voices in his head war with each other. One is saying, she’s not Max, you love Max, you don’t want anyone else, you’re a traitor, this is wrong, and the other’s yelling, this girl likes you, an older girl likes you, this is all anyone ever wants, why the hell are you thinking of a girl who clearly doesn’t want you, pull yourself together.

“That’s not true.” Lucas crouches down next to her. “You were never tagging along, you’re part of our trio. We needed you. We still do, Robin, come on—”
“Go. Get back to the camp, pack your things and get out of here. Survive. Live. As far away from this area as you can get. I don’t trust them not to go after you later.”
“They’re going to put your head on a pike!” Erica takes a step forward so that her face is staring into Robin’s. “I’m sorry, am I the only one being reasonable here? You’re going to get killed! This isn’t the stupid Russians again! Dustin and I aren’t going to be able to burst in to rescue you this time!”
Trust was the hardest one to find, I'm learning that I outline in great detail but rarely actually note down written scenes.

i used to write fallout 3 fics but now i pretty much exclusively write stranger things fics
