at this point I think at a personal level we need to look at the BDS movement carefully and try to implement it in our lives. your local cafe can make a starbucks quality caramel macchiato without co-signing genocide. learn how to pirate if you wanna watch Disney+ shows. lots of other shoe brands than puma! you've never needed a sodastream water in your life. instead of hungover mcdo beef grease fries, order some delicious latkes. and so on and so forth....... the power of the US dollar, and the euro/pound is quite unparalleled. so use it! make it publicly embarrassing to be seen with these brands, for influencers to advertise it, force their hand until they publicly cut ties with an apartheid regime, or watch their stock price plummet.

Can i ask what starbucks did to cause such wide scale boycott efforts? I saw the thing with the union, but i can't find anything else.

The union thing is definitely the origin of the Starbucks boycott, but at this point it's inflated to become a big symbol of continuing public participation in boycotts. I went looking a while ago for the same reasons you did, and read this article which goes into more reasons why I personally won't ever frequent Starbucks (not that it's particularly hard for me) like how it's birth as a drink originated in Muslim and Arab communities before it was adopted into white culture.

You do bring up a good point though, how a lot of boycott efforts focus on Starbucks and Mcdonalds (which IS on the BDS boycott list, and we should keep up boycotting their food). Sometimes it can be hard to keep track of, so i think a lot of people will be happy to know that there is now an app called No Thanks that will identify products that support Israel.

You can scan barcodes and get it verified whether the product itself has ties to Israel. There is also a website equivalent here.

One thing that gets me everytime is that Stoick would have absolutely LOVED Zephyr. And Nuffink of course but I have this weird feeling that he wouldve doted non stop on Zephyr specifically. And this is the last thing I'll say about why the new Ferrari HP sponsorship (aside from supporting genocide)— The campaign is such a flop. It was such a missed opportunity for bisexuality lighting. Like, imagine if the drivers were bathing in Red light on one side and Blue on the other to represent the merging on the Ferrari and HP? That would have looked so fire and dynamic. It would have given great dimension and would have looked far less jarring than what they put out. Instead, the campaign looks like a photo shoot directed by Cookie Monster and inspired by the Twilight films.

I understand wanting to boycott things for the benefit of the general public but a lot of yall don’t understand that that’s not actually how it works 99% of the time

If you, a human with a functioning heart and a functioning brain, see a McDonalds near you full of customers...well first of all my condolences, and second, consider reminding those people what McDonalds did and is doing and why it is one of the foremost boycott targets in the first place.
