I know we shouldn't praise people for simply supporting Palestine or thinking that the genocides happening in Palestine + other places is bad because I mean c'mon.... of course genocide is bad, thats literally the most normal take you SHOULD say.
HOWEVER, in my opinion, theres a difference between people knowing that whats happening in Palestine is bad versus people knowing whats happening in Palestine is bad and ACTUALLY doing something about it, like posting or sharing about it on social media, boycotting, attending protests, and donating if possible.
That is something I admire and will praise someone for....in my opinion.

as exhausted i am trying to stay afloat and as much as i want to ignore the world around me, it simply would be disgusting and awfully ignorant of me to ignore the countless horrors people all over the world are facing just so i can wallow in the comfort of my little bubble that america and other western powers provide. this isn't about me or us. this is bigger than us. they deserve to be heard, their lives, actions, and deaths remembered, and their resistance to be not for nothing.
i wish them peace and true freedom and equality.
I feel utterly hopeless and helpless, sitting in front of my phone while simply sharing tiktoks of these horrific events (Palestinian and Sudanese Genocide as well as the Congo Silent Genocide). I simply have nothing else to say that others haven’t already said.
To the people who have died, may you rest in peace. To the people who are fighting back (in whatever form that may be), may your actions be not for nothing.
To the people who are just simply trying to survive, may you see the day your world isn’t filled with the sounds of bombs, the cries and sounds of pain and anguish of your loved ones and neighbors , the smell of death, worries that this will be your last day.
You will not be forgotten. None of you
To the world leaders, the people who support their oppressors, and the people with influence and affluence who, too, are in support of their oppressors, may your evil deeds be turned around onto you TENFOLD. May you experience hell on earth. I hope for that with all my heart. I hope you all suffer. You will never be forgiven.
It pains me to know that you all will never face any consequences for your evil and inhumane actions (as we’ve seen countlessly from history). People in power never suffer. They never have. But I hope with everything in me that you all suffer so much so that you wish for death.
Do not stay silent. Do not ignore their suffering. Do not be complacent in the genocide, ethnic cleansing, enslavement of human beings. Share every article/tiktok documenting or speaking on the matter. Call your representatives! Make sure their voices are heard.

This is so funny (and when I say funny I mean disgusting), because I'm the person he's referring to (hi!)
Falling out makes it sound trivial, but what he's not saying is that he chose to end our friendship because he didn't like that I was posting about Palestine and the genocide of the Palestinian people. Specifically, he found the use of the word genocide "disagreeable" (his word, not mine).
Now normally I wouldn't give a shit because hey, people say dumb things all the time and it has no impact. Except in this case it does, since he's from Israel and this reflects the views about what's happening in his country (but you won't see him posting about it on his massively popular blog).
Whilst there are children dying everyday, innocent people being killed and whole cultures being exterminated, he decides he's offended by my choice of words, which by the way the UN also uses .
We know that the government of Israel has repeatedly lied about the crimes it is committing on the Palestinian people. We know that they continue to defend their tactics as necessary against the "terrorists", lies which a lot of its citizens are happy to parrot despite the evidence proving otherwise. We also know that many Israelis and Jewish people, both from the country and around the world, are seeing through these lies and calling them out. We know that many young Israeli people are choosing to spend their days in prison rather than support the IDF and participate in the massacre of the people in Gaza. So I think it means something when someone as prominent as Charles chooses to say nothing, especially since he's been vocal about his criticisms of Netanyahu in the past, so not sure why he's choosing this hill to die on.

"For those reasons, the court has decided that the right of self-defense...had no relevance in such circumstances...The lore on self-defense under article 51 of the UN charter has no application"
Transcript:
"I shall address the question of self-defense. In its advisory opinion in the Wall case, the court noted that the threat that Israel had argued justified the construction of the wall was not imputable to a foreign state, but emanated from territory, the occupied Palestinian territory, over which Israel exercises control. For those reasons, the court has decided that the right of self-defense under article 51 of the charter, the UN charter, had no relevance in such circumstances. 20 days ago, the Security Council affirmed yet again that Gaza is occupied territory.
Though Israel refers to a complete withdrawal from Gaza, it has retained control over Gaza; over access by land, sea, and air, and over key governmental functions and supplies of water and electricity. he tightens of its grip may have varied but no one can doubt the continuous reality of Israel's grip on Gaza ... What Israel is doing in Gaza, it is doing in territory under its own control. Its actions are enforcing its occupation. The lore on self-defense under article 51 of the UN charter has no application"
South Africa and Yemen are literally the only people doing something to stop this genocide.

"I hope so, I hope they don't lie this time" says Dr. Ahmed Moghrabi as he relays that the IOF has contacted the director of Nasser Hospital and promises that they won't attack the hospital itself but around the hospital.
We have to keep talking about Palestine but also focus on Nasser Medical Complex in our shares and comments (please watch his original reel also). I don't believe the IOF for one second but I desperately want to believe that our eyes on them is making the slightest bit of difference.

supporting congo can be as simple as finding alternative devices that don’t use cobalt- most devices with lithium ion batteries contain cobalt but a lot of AA batteries tend to use zinc/alkaline compounds instead !!
while maybe a tad more outdated in devices I’d 100% rather find alternatives to human exploitation

“You are speaking treason,” Laurence said, without feeling, oddly calm; the words only a recitation of fact, distant.
“Very well,” Temeraire said, “if I am an animal, and may be poisoned off like an inconvenient rat, I cannot be expected to care; and I do not. You cannot tell me I should obey; you cannot tell me I should stand idle—”
“It is treason!” Laurence said.
Temeraire stopped, and looked at him only. Laurence said, low and exhausted, “It is treason. Not disobedience, not insubordination; it cannot—there is no other name which it can bear. This Government is not of my party; my King is ill and mad; but still I am his subject. You have sworn no oath, but I have.” He paused. “I have given my word.”
...
“Then I must go alone,” Temeraire said wretchedly, so softly that for once there was real difficulty in making out the words. “I will go alone.”
Hi this scene breaks me every time
