Her name was Saly, she was five years old. She was like any child, she probably liked to play with her toys, she was probably learning to read, she probably like to spend time with her family and friends.

Maybe she would have been a doctor, or a farmer, or a engineer. Maybe she would have advanced the field of physics or medicine, written a best seller novel or stared in a major movie production; Or she might have had a quieter life, the world might have never known her name, but her friends and family would have and that might have been enough.

But no one will ever know now because Israel took those lives away from her, the tens of thousands of possibles that lay before each child burning like candle lights in cool summer night sniffed out in an instant. A last story shared by thousands of Palestinian children in Gaza.

Help a Palestinian family evacuate Gaza to safety!

Moataz Abu Sakran @moatazart has gone to great lengths to document the genocide in Gaza and is a friend of this blog. He and his wife Mariam and their baby girl Maria have been trapped in north Gaza for almost 200 days, and are survivors of multiple sieges on the Al-Shifa Hospital vicinity. Their home has been destroyed, they’ve lost their jobs, and their savings are gone. They are trying to get to safety in Egypt, where they can rebuild their lives until it is safe enough to go back to Gaza City (God willing). They have made travel arrangements, and are set to depart 25 days from today, 21 April 2024.

However, as of right now, they will be homeless upon reaching Egypt. The money they had raised to secure housing and sustain themselves until they found work was completely depleted due to the exorbitant transfer costs for their paperwork. This post explains the breakdown of the costs and the difficulties of the journey ahead of them.

Their fundraising campaign ends in a mere 16 days, and they are set to travel in 25 days. If they do not meet their goal in 25 days, they will be homeless in Egypt. We have just 25 days to make sure they will find safety and security once in Egypt. They are currently only $3,300 from their goal. If every single one of our followers gave $1, or if even half of our followers gave just $2, their goal would be met.

🚨 For the 5th consecutive night, students at Columbia University continue the Gaza Solidarity Encampment, undeterred by over 100 arrests, and returning with larger tents than before.

The students have declared that they will not stop until the University, with its $14 billion endowment, divests from zionism.

Despite a number of suspensions and censorship, students are not backing down. Tour guides for new students have resigned in protest of the repression. Support rallies continue outside the university.

The liberated zone at Columbia has inspired others: At Yale University in Connecticut, an encampment named Gaza Plaza with demands of divestment continues for the third consecutive night despite suspension threats. At Yale, a number of graduate students undertook an 8-day-long hunger strike to demand their university divest from zionism.

Students at the New School in New York also began an encampment, as did a number of students in Boston, creating three encampments at MIT, Emerson, and Tufts to demand divestment and cessation of attacks on students. Encampments are also taking place at the University of North Carolina, Washington University, and Miami University in Ohio.

even if u have the money for watcher tv, don’t give it to em. even if u wanted to, don’t. they (watcher) deliberately decided to alienate their fans, act like it was the fans fault, and haven’t said anything abt it yet. I understand how much u want ur comfort shows back, or ur favorite spooky boys, but as we’ve been saying for months, u shouldn’t feel comfortable when ppl in Gaza CANNOT DO ANYTHING AND R SUFFERING. Photographer Mahmoud Shalha documents how people in Beit Lahiya assembled a platter of food and brought it out to journalists as thanks for their work. All of north Gaza and much of central and south Gaza are devastated by famine, induced by the occupation as part of its campaign of genocide. Beit Lahiya is also currently under renewed aerial bombardment and ground assault. Even so, people risk their lives and give up their own food to make sure journalists are fed.
