"Egyptian Magic" by E. A. Wallis Budge serves as a captivating portal to the mystical world of ancient Egypt, where the realms of magic, religion, and spirituality seamlessly intertwined. Published in [year], this seminal work by Budge, a renowned Egyptologist, offers readers a comprehensive exploration of the magical practices and beliefs that permeated the daily lives of the ancient Egyptians. The title itself hints at the enigmatic allure that beckons readers into a realm where the boundaries between the mundane and the supernatural blur.
Budge, known for his extensive scholarship on Egyptology, brings to life the magical traditions of ancient Egypt with meticulous detail. The title "Egyptian Magic" acts as a prelude to a journey through the spells, rituals, and incantations that were integral to the spiritual landscape of this ancient civilization. Budge's prose, though rooted in academic rigor, retains a sense of wonder that makes the subject accessible to both scholars and enthusiasts alike.
One of the strengths of "Egyptian Magic" lies in Budge's ability to contextualize magical practices within the broader religious and cultural framework of ancient Egypt. Each chapter unfolds like a chapter in the Book of the Dead, revealing the layers of meaning behind the magical spells and their significance in the Egyptian worldview. The title becomes a guide through this esoteric terrain, inviting readers to decipher the symbols and incantations that held profound meaning for the practitioners of ancient Egyptian magic.
Budge delves into the different categories of magical practices, from healing spells to protective amulets, showcasing the diverse ways in which magic permeated every facet of Egyptian life. The inclusion of hieroglyphic illustrations and translations of magical texts further enhances the immersive experience of "Egyptian Magic." Budge's expertise in deciphering ancient Egyptian scripts provides readers with a firsthand encounter with the original magical incantations. The title serves as a doorway to an ancient scriptorium, where the secrets of Egyptian magic are inscribed in symbols that continue to captivate and mystify.
Beyond the academic discourse, Budge's work touches upon the spiritual dimensions of ancient Egyptian magic. The title becomes a metaphorical key, unlocking the mystical teachings that guided the Egyptian magicians in their quest for spiritual enlightenment. Budge sheds light on the deep connection between magic and the afterlife, where spells and charms were believed to secure a favorable passage through the realm of the dead.
In conclusion, "Egyptian Magic" by E. A. Wallis Budge stands as a magnum opus that unravels the complexities of an ancient civilization's magical traditions. The title invites readers into a world where the mystical and the mundane coalesce, where words held the power to shape destinies and unlock the gates to the divine. Holy is not supposed to be the most powerful damage type the Erdtree is a sorry husk of its old self the golden order is in ruins holy IS ONLY ONE HALF OF WHAT FAITH BUILDS GET!!! The other half being fire (lightning is there too for incantations and they're some of the best spells in the game) listen you are fighting the establishment you are here to bring death to an element/order that's associated with life eternal and it is an order that cannot, will not end itself of its own volition, so holy damage not working well on endgame bosses and only really being super strong against the living dead is good. I get it's annoying that some weapons will just kind of suck against the final boss but you should have more than one weapon anyway.
And if it's an RP/vibes thing 1) single damage type/spell type builds are for suckers 2) if you don't just give your faith build character a complex about having to commit the cardinal sin and use fire to burn the Erdtree in order to save the golden order despite that being a contradiction and make them begrudgingly use fire sometimes idk what you're here for you're playing the wrong game. Put the blasphemous blade on your Erdtree Sentinel and embrace how disgustingly contradictory the vibes are here because that's Elden Ring.
You think it was some accident that they did this? Some weird quirky choice that Miyazaki singularly made while he was high? I know everyone's spoiled from dark souls having almost everything be weak to lightning but come on be serious. To say nothing about prophets starting with fire spells. "Why would they do this" BECAUSE

HIS SECRET ILLUMINATIONS
A Sheltered Monk
By day, Lucían brews potions and illuminates manuscripts in service to the monastery that took him in as a child, wielding magic based in his faith and his purity. By night, he dreams of the world outside the cloister--a world he knows only in books and scrolls...
A Mysterious Warrior
A mercenary known as the She-Wolf hunts for a shipment of stolen manuscripts. When she needs a mage to track them down, she chooses Lucían for both his adorable blushes and his magic. She purchases his contract, hurling him headfirst into an adventure that will test both his skills and his self-control...
A Sacred Vow
Inexorably drawn to the She-Wolf's strength, surprising kindness, and heated touches, Lucían fights temptation at every turn. His holy magic is both vital to their mission and dependent upon his purity. How can he serve both her and the Lord if he gives in to his desire? As intrigue and danger forces them closer, how can he possibly resist?
HIS SACRED INCANTATIONS
An Illicit Desire
Lucían left behind his cloister, his vows, and his self-denial when he joined Glory, first for a quest and then in her bed. He tells himself he should be happy, but when he looks at her strong arms, her sharp smile, and her smooth dominance, he wants—something he cannot yet name...
A Deadly Foe
A fatal threat lurks in the mountains above Granite Falls, attacking travelers with fangs and claws and a horrible curse. Lucían and Glory seek the cause, and he can't help wondering why it all seems so familiar, and why his dreams are full of cold stone and an evil presence...
A Perilous Mission
As their investigation proceeds, Lucían finds himself once more embroiled in an adventure he wasn't expecting, one full of dark magic and ghosts from his past. Haunted by what he can't change, Lucían makes a solemn vow: He'll end this, once and for all, or die trying...

i’ve been working on that spell between less creative work for a while. causing time as a conceptual energy to interact with physical matter in a way that doesn’t reverse, stop, or progress time in as complicated an environment as a living body, with fate involved to such an extent as to verbally identify the target, was so based in very specific laws of existence and such a complicated and confusing and unsurprisingly intricate puzzle to solve that i sort of burnt out my mind about it and passed out for a day and a half. i’m pretty sure that i’ve literally never thought that hard in my life. definitely sure i wasn’t capable of even trying that before. i’m no physicist or philosopher but i understand the nature of reality much better now.

Quote
It’s a laugh they will call my pulque laugh, my drunk-on-tequila-and-Demerol sailor laugh. My lover of women laugh. They will say Frida was a bad boy. She wore a Panama hat and boots. You could hear her at a fiesta, throat raw from marijuana and cigarettes. And it is true. I howled in my solitary nights, my gray wolf nights, my woman of the harbor without a lighthouse nights.
