FEEL YOUR SKIN
One-shot comic from the past year about my experiences coping with gender dysphoria and assigned binary roles.
Feat my birdsona Maggie and Acantho (early design, changed a bit since then).
… practically I'm baring my heart and brain here; also my views are not facts, I know talking about these themes in public can help others to realize and reflect on their own views. Something I find pleasant and one of my main objectives when sharing my comics!
From my side: I always felt uneasy about my gender because, since my teenage days, I saw how different girls were treated than boys. Because I was a "girl" I needed to look like this or that to be treated like one and UGH.
I felt sad and angry with myself for not falling properly into my assigned label so I practically rejected all of it to the point of hating everything "femme" coded… I was so wrong.
It wasn't the fault of the label, the clothes, aesthetics, colors, etc, or even the roles but of society for imposing them without any flexibility or room to question and reinvent them.
The script for this comic is from October 2022 during a time when I was questioning if I was non-binary and--.
I thought: if someday I wish to use that label, first I need to make peace with this other part of me. And in the next months, that's what I tried to do and I found I didn't hate it as I used to do.
That doesn't mean I will go back to it by default just that now I understand and cherish its existence as another option for me to choose when I feel like it! And even… I want to let some traits of it be part of my new gender expression in the future.
And to keep admiring and loving people that surround me and identify with it.
And because I have gotta admit: IT FEELS SO GOOD TO JUST BE SEXY FOR YOURSELF.

"Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL" Potential Fix
since apparently the only solution vidoes is spammers on youtube trying to sell you crappy software, I'm making it a post.
If you're using VLC media player to watch videos and it comes up with
"Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL"
Followed by a huge string of numbers spelling out the file location?
Try coping the video file into a single test folder on your hard drive.
Lots of subfolders can confuse VLC apparently.
so my nice little organization of:
"my hardrive>my pictures>from my phone>garden>videos>peppers>Capsicum Pubescence>2023>September>[insert video file name here]"
comes up with the "Your input can't be opened: VLC is unable to open the MRL" error.
It might be nice for me to findspecific videos later on, but it's not very good for VLC mediaplayer apparently.

Three ships
Kim/Chay is my main one right now, they make me feel so much.
I've listened to some Sterek podfics recently and yep, Sterek is still eternal. Never letting them go, no way. KP is just a momentary distraction. Sterek has everything I also love about other ships.
Martino and Niccolò from Skam Italia, it's been four years since I first watched their season and they still make me just as happy.
First ever ship
I think the very first one I've read fanfiction for is Brian/Justin from QaF US. I must have been 14 and it was a nearly 500k post-canon fic, though I doubt I read all of it. I still have the link but there's no way I'll read smut in German.
I was also really into the gay storylines from soaps from all over the world. Maybe one of those came before.

I can't remember, I rarely ever watch movies. The next movie, though, is going to be Two and One with Paolo Pangilinan from Gaya Sa Pelikula. I wanted to give them money, okay? The site just wouldn't let me.

Currently Watching
Gannibal - I've only got one episode left but I am being a bit of a baby about it. It's scary, ok? I am fine with eating children once a year, I am less fine with keeping them in a cave for years until it's time to eat them.
Word of Honor - It took me six months to watch the second episode so who knows how long it will take me to watch the next one, but I like it so far, even though I have no idea what is going on. Just a lot of flirting in front of teenagers, that I got.
I am also rewatching the third season of Druck even if that is a slow process.

i've done it. i've cracked the code.
i know why the 'playful insult' humour (henceforth referred to as roasting for simplicity) doesn't work when autistic people do it, and why they're so mean to us but fine according to others.
it's about the facade of security.
allistic people have roastable things about them that they show, and Insecurities they put conscious effort into Hiding. i'm still not sure if they Hide well enough that others actually don't notice or if everyone else is just being polite, but either way, that's The Line. anything they're not Clearly Insecure about is fair game for roasting. anything they are, they like to think nobody knows about which both comes from and results in nobody talking about it.
if someone is short, for example, and makes jokes about being short or doesn't have any obvious issue with their height, they're probably ok with jokes being made about it. if someone is short and tries to look taller with tall shoes or hair, changing their posture, etc., that means they don't want their height to be made fun of (unless they make jokes about them being insecure, in which case, same as the first one applies and you can joke about their make-me-tall actions, but probably not their height itself).
the trouble comes when autistic people can (metaphorically) see the Insecurity, but not the efforts to Hide them. they might see the visuals of Hiding, but not recognise that those efforts are a sign saying 'don't joke about this' because we can't always tell the difference between a Hiding behaviour and a regular one. The Line is invisible to us.
so when we try and join in, we don't realise that the joked-about didn't know that everybody else saw their Insecurity. the Insecurity itself is linked to the Hiding behaviour, so roasting their behaviour feels to them like roasting the Insecurity. more than that, they feel exposed, because their Hiding behaviour has been shown to be a Hiding behaviour, which in turn exhibits the Insecurity for everyone to see.
when the rest of the audience is allistic, they recognise that this has happened and The Line has been crossed, so not only does the joke fall flat, but you are The One Who Made Someone Upset. the bully, the over-the-top one, cruel.
on the other hand.
autistic people also have roastable things about them that they show, and Insecurities they put conscious effort into Hiding. however, our Hiding abilities don't work the same way as allistics. either we can't control the thing we're insecure about, so we can't (or "don't") Hide at all, or it isn't as perceptible to allistics. it might even be perceived as lampshading (a joke where someone ironically points out something cliched or obvious), and therefore, ok to joke about.
so our lack of politeness armour (Hiding) means that everybody thinks our serious Insecurities are funny roastable things. so we get hurt by their comments, and because there's no Hiding (which, to allistics, is synonymous with Insecurity), they say we're being sensitive and overreacting, because it's "just a joke".
or they're bullying us on purpose idk.
(disclaimer: i am autistic. if you're allistic adhd and you relate to this, that's cool too, but because i'm not allistic i don't know what that experience is like internally, so i didn't write about that. btw sorry if this long text post with big paragraphs scared away all the adhd-ers. also because i'm autistic, i might be totally wrong due to fulfilling criterion a in the dsm.)

This post is made with speech to text because my hand hurts from typing so much today. Please forgive any typos or speech to text swapping similar sounding words.
If you would like to start writing your own image descriptions, feel free to ask any questions.
The main things to keep in mind is that they should begin with some variation of image description start or ID, and end with some variation of image description and, and ID or something like that. This distinguish the image description from the caption or anything else.
Image descriptions should not be written in italics, bold, all caps, or any colors. If text in the image is in all caps, write it in regular case, and simply note before or after it that it's in all caps.
Image descriptions should describe all images in the post, without skipping any. This includes images that are nothing but text.
Plain text image descriptions in the body of the post are more accessible than alt text alone, because many people who need image descriptions cannot use alt text, and Tumblr is known for its glitches, so the accessibility of the alt text all by itself varies widely over time.
It is more accessible to have the image descriptions indented than not, because this helps to visually separate the image description from the caption. Having brackets or parentheses at the end is also helpful for this. This allows people to easily distinguish between the caption and the image description if they need to.
If you are an artist, writing image descriptions for your art will give you full control over the image description, and will allow you to correctly identify details that others might miss. This gives you the opportunity to show which parts of your art hold meaning to you and are important to notice.
If you are describing real people who are unknown to you, unless it is specified within the post or you are already aware, please do not assign any gendered terms to them, or any " male presenting or female presenting" terms like that. This is completely unnecessary and leads to misgendering. It is best to simply describe visible facts about the people. Hair color, length, clothes and style, pose, expression, the light or darkness of their skin, things like that. Do not assume that someone is white simply because they have light skin.
Do not use image descriptions to lie to the audience in any way and do not use image descriptions to make jokes where the audience reading the image description is the butt of the joke.
As an example, if there is a very clearly fake screenshot, do not say that it is simply a screenshot, or if a photo is very blatantly photoshopped, do not say that it is simply a photo. Say an edited photo, a badly edited photo, a screenshot with editing, something like that to indicate the changes have been made and then what you are going to be describing is not the natural version.
As an example, you would say a crab photoshopped to be driving a car. Rather than a photo of a crab driving a car.
Unless you are transcribing a text within the image, do not use meme speak within image descriptions. Do not refer to dogs as doggos for example, unless it is to specify that the dog in the image is, within the image, labeled as a doggo. Do not describe someone walking downstairs as breasted bubbly downstairs, even if it is an actor humorously walking down the stairs to imitate that sentence. Describe the facts of the movements, and then you can make the comparison for clarity.
If someone adds an image description to your post whether this be an original post or a reblog that you have added an image to, it doesn't matter how many notes to post already has, please copy and paste that image description into the original post or your original reblog. If it is a new post that has only a few notes from friends, after you update the original, you can just ask your friends to delete the reblogs of the inaccessible version and reblog the new one. Most people who are good people and care about disabled people will happily do so.
Keep in mind that image descriptions are accessibility tools. Treat them as such.
Anyone can write image descriptions. You do not need any special qualifications or training. As long as you are willing to take constructive criticism if you make a mistake, an image description written by someone who's new to it and honestly doing their best with good intentions is better than no image description at all.
I'm sure I'm forgetting some things, so please feel free to add on more tips and advice.
