What happened, where is it? i can haz update?

No. Shan't. The sheer self entitlement from the fandom, the Harry Potter side especially was so freaking rancid, it left a massively sour taste in my mouth, I stopped having fun writing the fic, it felt like a thankless chore and all my creativity shriveled up and died. After the number of "update soon. hurry up and update." type comments, I just, got really sick of remembering it even existed. Between that and finding out the author of the source material was paying for hate crimes, on top of being a phobic rascist who took people liking her work to mean the same as people agreeing with her philosophies... I just felt deeply uncomfortable interacting with the fandom in any capacity. I had planned to delete the fic in its entirety, but I put so much goddamned work into that fic that I chose to private it instead.

So I can't read it anymore?

There's a less complete copy on FF.Net because I keep forgetting that bitch exists. It will not be updated ever again, it is as complete as it is ever going to get. That one got dropped a lot sooner than the AO3 version because no one was reading it, so I didn't see the point in double posting.

How do we get the AO3 version back.

Wait for JKR to die? ... or make me a TV Tropes page? IDFK. If you could find a way to stop people from being an asshole in the comments forever I might republic it for that.

Alas. There's part of the next chapter written, but I got a guy in the comments who thought "you should do this that and the other thing and also make my waifu the main character. Stop telling me she's 2 years old and make her the main character. You're just a bitch and I slap bitches like you all day long. Kill yourself or prove yourself to me, what are you going to do, you can't stop me from reading it." was acceptable behaviour. Decided to shelve it for a few weeks and came back only to realise I wasn't just being petty, I was suffering Burnout. (Which would go on to last almost 2 years.)

So... are you coming back to it. Like, ever?

Oh I hope so. But probably put it in your sub feed and forget about it... maybe pray. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As I begin taking writing requests again, I thought it would be a good idea to detail my guidelines for requests as well as fandoms/characters I’m open to writing for (there are…quite a few). Before submitting any kind of request or commission, please take the time to read the below and ensure your request fits the guidelines. Any requests submitted that do not meet the listed guidelines will be deleted without notice.

Note: For commissions/paid requests there is a bit more wiggle room in guidelines since payment is involved. If there’s something outside my guidelines I’ll reach out and work with you to achieve a mutually satisfactory resolution.

Content Guidelines:

This ask is actually related to a dream I had about the boy. And I'm not quite sure if you've already answered an ask like this. How would he react to a yandere MC or an MC who's very possessive or obsessive?

Depends on how much; he'd like the extra attention but nothing too pushy or demanding from him. If you're subtle he's definitely okay with it but if it's over the top he'd have reason to recoil if I'm honest (which is ironic considering what he'll be later).

AO3 Collections Advice

just a gentle reminder to say that i do not, and will never, accept unsolicited invitations to add my fics to collections on ao3. doing so gives the owner of the collection power over my work - they can then make the work anonymous without my consent, or even hide it from view entirely on ao3. whilst i can undo this by removing the work from the collection, i prefer not to take the risk of this happening and me not noticing and ending up with a missing/uncredited fic

readers: using collections as a “i’ve read this and i liked it” list is a poor use of the many, many features ao3 gives you to save and rec stuff. what you are looking for instead is ao3′s bookmarks feature! you can make a bookmark of a work (they even have specific bookmark types for recs!), and then add that bookmark to a collection without any of the issues i mentioned above (i.e. if you make the collection anonymous/hidden, it won’t affect the bookmarked work). you don’t even need author permission to do add a bookmark to a collection! and probably the authors will be delighted because, hey, more exposure without any risk of to work. using collections this way is a good use of collections, especially if you label them clearly (e.g. “the best of dsmp h/c fic”, rather than “ouoguguh hurty”), and is of huge benefit to the fandom community at large because it helps people find recs!

also, even if you’re going to ignore everything else i’ve said here, you should absolutely not be trying to add author’s works to collections titled “okay fics” or “fics that are a solid 5/10″. i will get an email telling me you are trying to do this, letting me know exactly what you think of my work just the same as if you’d left a rude comment. if you do this with an author who is on auto-accept, every other person who reads that fic will see that collection title just below the fic’s tags. if you want to remind yourself to avoid a fic, use a private bookmark; you can tag that with whatever you want because it’s between you and god. just don’t be a dick in public, please.

even with collections that don’t have derogatory titles, this is still worth thinking about; do authors really want “subtext is buttsex spelled differently!” in all caps or “uwu squirm worm” on their work? probably not. i get emails trying to invite me to collections like this maybe once a week, and it is phenomenally annoying (though, self-admittedly, i’m a grumpy old bastard). more importantly, it also makes your collections functionally useless to anyone other than yourself - no one is searching for “worm” or “buttsex” when they are trying to find collections of good fics. a clearly-titled collection that gives you a good idea of what’s in it, whilst less funny to you personally, turns it from a personal list into a community resource!

other authors: you, also, should probably not be allowing random people to add your works to collections. by default, people should have to request permission to; (if you’ve changed that to auto-accept, you can change it back by doing the opposite of the instructions here), and i would strongly suggest rejecting unsolicited requests. anyone who’s not e.g. the the trusted admin of an event/challenge/etc. who is running a collection for those purposes should not have control over your work’s visibility.

Hail is a blogroll page. This page can only be used on main blogs and only if you have enabled the option to share your following with others.

Notes:

Each page is responsive and comes with a day and night toggle button that will stay in the selected mode until it is turned off. A dark mode option is available for those who prefer a dark color scheme on their pages instead of the default light colors. The day and night mode buttons will also change according to the scheme you are using.

You can customize the colors, font size, etc. with variables on each page! This essentially means that most of what you’ll have to edit is in the HTML.

Like Lowlife, you can also choose between a left or right sidebar. Instructions are provided in the code!

FAQ

Q: What kind of places can be included?

A: Anywhere! Places can be as specific or as vague as you'd like: both The Milky Way and 123 Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, USA are both perfectly fine!

Q: Where should I submit?

A: Use the ask box! After opening a ticket with tumblr, it turns out submissions and polls are not compatible.

Q: What should I include in my ask?

Q: How do I make sure I don't submit a place that's already been added to the queue?

A: When you submit a post, please include: A picture of the place, the name of the place, and the location of the place, if applicable. You must include the country. Please. PLEASE include the country.

Do not include anything else!

The preferred format is image first, then text in big letters.

A: Use this link to see a spreadsheet of every place that's been posted and added to the queue. Do NOT submit the same place multiple times!

Q: Anon is off, but I don't want my username attached to my submission. Am I out of luck?

A: Not at all! If you'd like to submit a place anonymously, send in an ask as usual and mention that you'd like it to be anonymous. I'll take the submission and make a separate post without tagging you. The ask will be answered privately so you know that I've seen it and added it to the queue without your name involved.

Q: It's been a while, but my place still hasn't been posted! Did you delete it?

A: Probably not! The queue posts six times a day, and there are a LOT of posts in the queue and in my inbox! I don't add posts in the order that they were submitted, so it's likely that your place hasn't been queued yet. The only reason I delete asks is if the place has already been posted or added to the queue!

Q: I run a similar gimmick blog and would love to tag eachother for publicity!

NOTES!

I have a MASSIVE Google Doc where I keep track of the things that stand out to me month by month. Here's an example of what that looks like from the doc for the Clan that I made as a test run for RisingClan:

You can see I use Headers to make it easy to travel between months and I have each point as a check box so i can mark it off once I post it on the blog. I also leave a note every time a cat changes rank of what their new Traits/Skills are since those get lost when they move to the next rank.

I also keep track of the cat's description in the Alliances tab so i can easily replicate it and once a cat becomes an adult I take a photo of their profile so i have accurate color refs since my doc is already like 4 years into the future and when a cat dies it changes their sprite colors. This has been a bit of an issue when a kit or apprentice dies but I luckily haven't had to deal with that too much.

And then I would say, my other Big Tip is to let yourself get creative with it. The ClanGen events are just a suggestion and, knowing what i do about my Clan, I've already started taking liberties a little bit to make the events feel more cohesive and satisfying. If you don't want to document sprains because they're rarely important, then don't. If you get a cat who has a specific backstory and you want to change it to something totally different, do that! The world is your oyster, do whatever you want and have fun with it. If it isn't fun, do something else.

FAQ here!

We rarely reject templates! But if we find something uncomfortable we will not do it! Other than that, we do basically any media, aesthetic, color, etc. To request, you need these things:

Format (Display name, about me, PK, SP, etc.)

Type (Alter, system, display name)

Length (Long, medium, short)

Emojis, if wanted (Not required, but appreciated)

Symbols, if wanted (Also not required, but appreciated)

Vertical vs. horizontal (not required, more of an aesthetic for anyone who wants it)

And anything else you want!

It doesn't have to follow this exact format, but it does need to have these for me to complete the request! We do not use fonts for our templates either! You can always reference other templates we have made for the vibe you want!
