Anyways… AU where Luke and Obi-Wan both went with Bail and Obi-Wan goes by Ben and Bail and Breha insist Ben Organa has been their consort for years (right to very annoyed empire senators and one time, Vader himself) and he’s their children’s nanny too and no, he’s not a Jedi, he’s just good in bed, calm down.

Anyways. Luke and Leia are constantly wondering why their nanny is talked about all weird in court and they’re not supposed to mention him at all if they can, but they think it’s funny and want their parents to be happy, so, lol, okay.

Obi-Wan disappears once a year to visit one of the hidden temples where they hide Jedi artifacts and stuff and pairs up wandering Jedi (because wandering is the ONLY way they’ll ever be safe under empire rule) with force sensitive kiddos who want to join up, and then comes back to be with the family again.

SOMEONE suggested that I go back through old fic and look for fun quotes and so now i’m back on my darkpilot bullshit and literally have like 1 chapter left of this AU that has haunted me for a good long while and i’m gonna fucking finish it if it kills me FUCK

The door to the cockpit slid open and Ben slumped into the co-pilot’s seat. It was not proper privacy, for Poe was only a seat away, but Ben had spent so many quiet hours alone in this cockpit staring at hyperspace. It was as comforting as meditation.

“You and Rey figured it out that fast, huh?”

Ben ignored him.

“The silent treatment? I don’t think you’ve tried that since, what, you were thirteen? And you sulked for about three days because I… oh, what was it over… a lost race?”

It wasn’t the race Ben had sulked about. It was that Leia had told Poe she was proud of him for winning. But Ben didn’t see any reason to mention that now.

“All this time training on Ach-To and you wouldn’t even look at me,” Ben grunted. “Now you’re trying to talk to me like nothing’s changed?”

“When a man might die on the next rotation, it changes his perspective.”

Finally, Ben tore his eyes from the shifting white and blue lights outside the ship and looked at Poe. His face was grim, no trace of the humor in his voice. If Ben were not so intent on closing himself off from Rey and her deadly grip on his mind, he might have reached out curiously to Poe’s.

“You’re not going to die,” Ben said.

“Depending on how it goes, either the Supreme Leader or General Leia will interrogate me, torture me, and most likely kill me.”

“I won’t let that happen.”

“You planning to run away with me to the Outer Rim?”

“Maybe.”

“I should warn you, I’ve no money to my name. Lost my last few credits on a bad gamble.”

“Never gamble with a Jedi.”

“He was an apprentice. I thought it was all right.”

The faintest smile tugged at Poe’s lips and it infected Ben, too. As Ben returned the smile, albeit reluctantly, Poe leaned over and rested his elbow against Poe’s armrest.

“We could both die tomorrow.”

Luke was right. Ben was far too easily influenced.

He leaned into Poe and before he had even opened his mouth, Poe surged against him in a wonton, needy kiss. It was reckless and desperate, just like their first kiss tucked behind a blartree blossom, and honestly, just as sloppy.
