ORIGIN:

Aljari was born and raised in Baldur’s Gate, living with his mother and father as they ran a small general store near the docks of the lower city. His mother a hardworking woman and his father a wizard that’s curiosity and love for magic could not be sated. Even with a wife, son and shop to run he could not let go of his affinity for the arcane. He would go on quests for months on end to find books, artifacts, knowledge from others. All of this he shared with Aljari kick starting his sons equally insatiable hunger for knowledge and magical know-how. As the years went on, into Aljari teen-hood his parents argued and fought and his father would be gone longer, his mother would become drunker and his family would drift further. Once after declaring he was leaving again and on the search for an ancient necromantic artifact he left the small house and never returned. Aljari’s mother fed up with him and all things magic could only frown, sob and complain at her sons shared love for the art. As Aljari’s magical power grew his mother’s distaste and fear of the skills. The arguments became more and more frequent between them, She wished her one and only son would focus on his future, on running the family business, on starting his own family but no. He just had to run around playing with wands and robes.

Aljari told her himself that his love for magic and wizardry surpassed his love for her and if he must choose between the art and his home life then his mind had been made up long ago. At the age of twenty he leaves home for the final time and begins his life as an adventurer. Life is not easy for him. A young man who’s so accustomed to the privileges of such a bustling city would not survive out in the world on his own, this is true usually but somehow, with his wit and intellect- as well as his proficiency with most hand weapons, he lives. He thieves, he earns and he prospers until one strange day…he wakes up in a mind flayer’s ship.

My dad calls me "cat". It's been his pet name for me since I was a tiny baby. Other than that, no nick names unless I wanted to doxx myself lol You can just call me Alto.

Guys I was over this one guy then he came over to my dorm to hang out with our friends (he’s a couple years older than me and abt to graduate so he doesn’t go to our side of campus often, the music building is on the opposite side from my dorm, yadda yadda) and we played baldurs gate together on my computer and he was helping me build my Wyll and y’all. I haven’t been able to stop thinking abt him since I was actually SOOO over him prior to this but he’s the only mfer who has ever seen my level of weird “I was on wattpad in middle school” energy that I have with everything that I love and found it ENDEARING!!!! Like I have a Gale lockscreen rn because cringe is dead and he chuckled and said “And I know you find him so hot too. I get it.” LIKE PLEASE?????? WHY ARE WE PERFECT WE COULDVE BEEN SO MUCH MORE IF WE ONLY HAD TIME (he actually mentioned visiting our apartments next year to hang out with us and after we hung out i was like oop now you gotta come back over and bring your steam deck I don’t make the rules) so im fighting for my life rn

I have a bad case of OCD, and don’t draw nearly as much as I’d like to, but here are some of my favorites. Oldest to newest.

1. Another Baldur’s Gate piece - Ari Throne of Bhaal portrait. There are couple of things I am proud of in this: 1. getting her to look exactly how I wanted - face, armor, hair, badassery. I am also using it in the game and it fits imo. 2. Trying a slightly different painting method and adding back light, shading front, making it slightly more... solid. 3. I’ve used a brush that I’ve created myself based on one of my favorite comic artists, and I really like the results. Come to think of it I need to recreate it as I’ve lost it when switching PS versions.

2. Miraluka twins painting for SWTOR. My two twins that I love and that got me to complete two of my least favorite stories. Couple of things of pride: 1. Same brush as above that I really enjoy the style of. 2. Completing full characters for the first time. Technically my Sith Warriors were first, but this style/painting is one of the two styles I strive for. 3. I think they just look really cool. 4. Lightsabers!! :3

3. My first SWTOR commission. I am not too fond of the comic-style with lineart, but I am happy with the amount of time and detail I’ve put in it - I’ve basically first sketched all the details, then drew line art, then colored with flat colors, and THEN added the highlights, shadows, and other colors. Tumblr kills the resolution but I’ve spent a looong time on this painting and it paid off. Currently the person who commissioned it has it on their lockscreen. <3

4. This was done just yesterday actually - An Ergo Proxy screencap repaint.  Things I am proud of: 1. My first even screencap repaint. 2. I’ve done a full-scale background. 3. One of the two styles I am trying to get better at. 4. One of my favorite anime of all time and I am happy I was finally able to give it due love, now its only up from here :3. 5. Took me about 5-6 hours instead of days that these things normally take me. 6. I eyeball everything from colors to composition and I think it turned out fairly close.

5. Some of my Arcana fan art. This is unfinished and I am planning to add/fine tune a lot of things, but I am proud of it being an original piece, no repaint, and also a full background. Also its been a while since I’ve drawn any kind of romantic couple so its been liberating. :3
