Ok but hear me out, the hurt/comfort that comes after the fight. The soothing kisses bloodied knuckles and kissing away each others tears, the gentle tending to each others wounds, the soft spoken apologies and reassurances, the breathless gasps because they're just so glad they're both still here, cleaning each other up in a warm bath and trying to avoid hurting each others wounds, falling into bed exhausted and being unable to peel themselves away from each other for days.

😏 Yessss now this is quality content!!!! I love a good hurt/comfort session. Might I suggest:

-Shadowheart feeling absolutely awful because, while under the spell/curse she absolutely PUMMELED Tav, who did not fight back once.

-Shadowheart pouring every last ounce of her energy into closing wounds she put on Tav. She cries as she does so, Tav wipes her tears away

-a shared warm bath, away from the rest of the world. Holding each other, kissing every available inch of bare skin- not out of carnal desire but a need to know the other is safe. Holding each other in too-tight grips,

-Tav kissing Shadowheart’s mark on her hand when Shar lashes out in angry retribution for having failed yet again. Whispering to her that she won, that she’s stronger than Shar, that she eventually broke out of that trance and saved them both. There is no sign of betrayal or hurt, just pure love and support, understanding.

-Shadowheart kissing over Tav’s heart and resting her head there. So many times Shar has tried to turn her against her greatest love, and failed. Her heartbeat calms Shadowheart like nothing else can.

-Shadowheart confronting Tav about why she didn’t fight back. Being angry with her for not prioritizing her own safety, but also so so touched??? To go from a cult of cruelty to being with someone who refuses to lay a finger on her other than to love her??? 🥺 every bruise, every little cut on Tav’s body KILLS her. Tav telling her she’d simply rather die and actually meaning it??? Poetic cinema

-The way they make love after that? The kind of soul-shaking, existence changing lovemaking that only follows a near-death experience. The desperation, the worry, the need, the deep desire to never be parted again- all coming out through kisses and touches, breathy whines and whispered confessions of complete adoration. The need to feel each other’s pulses, feel the rise and fall of each other’s chests as they’re pressed together without a centimeter of space between them.

Thinkin about Shadowheart's complicated relationship with faith and how it has been used against her all her life by her goddess and those in power, her having to renounce that faith in order to escape their abuse, then realizing how it makes THIS moment all the more significant and touching

The way this scene also tends to happen shortly after Shadowheart renounces Shar is insane to me. Like do you know how meaningful this is?? She puts her faith in you despite after everything, fully knowing you could fail to resist the dark urge, not because she was told to, but because she chooses to and because she loves you.

If this is too much angst you don't need to answer. But I was wondering what Shadowheart and Tav's reaction would be if there was a threat nearby? Like some Sharrans who want revenge on Shadowheart or something like that?

It’s definitely not too angsty! (unless you also plan to kill Tav?? Lmao) Maybe even likely to happen at some point? They’re prepared. Tav never stops training, as seen in the fics already. Shadowheart has literal killer-instincts that do not ever fully go away.

If they have a child to protect? Tav would tell Shadowheart to take the baby and hide or flee, probably. They probably have some difficult conversations in preparation for an event such as this? Arnell goes into wolf form and stays behind with Tav to defend the cottage. Shadowheart is supposed to take Emmeline and the baby and conceal them at all costs.

Obviously, Shadowheart does NOT want to leave Tav alone, she wants to fight at her side, always. Especially if it’s Sharrans they’re dealing with- she’s the expert! Tav is a better fighter out in the open, but Shadowheart is the one trained in clandestine ops. Tav makes her swear to take the baby and not to return unless it’s all clear. Tav argues that Shadowheart is more important- for any number of reasons, but also because she is the parent who will ultimately live longer and give their baby the best chance at survival 🥺 running away from Tav in the face of danger? It’d be one of the hardest things Shadowheart would ever have to do.
